1. Intro to 3D: Hi, I'm I'm a 3D AKI and a freelancer in India. And from grade I read the standard for you. The first time you just stepping into the 3D data will include navigating the blender's, actually modelling, lightening background. And finally, linear model. The more popular program among the new 3D artists and becoming industry standard to, especially in movies and gaming industry. But unlike most clearly program, it, it totally free. The goal of this course is to introduce bottom trading with your lighter interface and make you comfortable with older tools that you will be using. 3d mode. This course is a broad overview of all the steps. After this, we can move through the specific steps in the future courses. We will also be creating a 3D model of this rule as we progress through the class. So that you can practice everything you learn in class, in query time. In the description I linked all the important ones that you will need to make this project. Don't forget to check it out. My God, it can make you comfortable and competent enough to start your religion. So Alvin shared that began 2. Downloading Blender: Blender region open-source 3D program that you can download for free from their official site. That is blender.org. When you click it, you will see this interface on their official site. You can click here to download Blender for your window. But if you're not a Windows user, you can come down here and click on this. Now, you can download Blender for your window, macOS, and Linux. When you click it and download after installing Blender, when you open it, this is how it will look for the first time. In the first glance. It might look a little bit confusing, but do not worry. It is same as any computer program, and we will learn more about it in the next lesson. This course, a design, so you can follow and work with me step-by-step. So please continue to the next lesson 3. Viewport and Navigating Blender: Starting from the left here on files, you can start a new project, going to journal, open all project. Shave your project in Blender format. Over here, import or export certain type of files, such as FBX, OBJ, and SVG. This is the main area where you work in your 3D. Coming through right here. Our oldest objects that are present in your project currently set at camera the Q and delights. Going below. This is the property tab where you can edit and work with all the properties in your scene, such as you Rendering, resolution, light, texture, and much more. Navigating Blender can be a little bit tricky because now you are working in 3D rather than 2D. So before we go ahead, let me tell you. In the lower-right corner, you can see whiskey I am pressing from here like this. So coming back to our main screen, now, let me tell you how to navigate or moving your 3D space. First of all, if you want to zoom in or zoom out. In this area, what you can do is scroll your middle mouse button like this. Going to scroll up, you go june, going back, you go zoom out. Similarly, you can do that from this icon. Click on this. And now you can zoom in and zoom out to the focused object. Now, if you want to move freely in, up, down and sideways direction, what you can do is press Shift and middle cloud. Press Shift and middle key. And now you can go up, down, and sideways without any problem. Similarly, you can press on the hand key here and do the same rushing. And now you can move freely in the two-way, two-dimensions in scene. Now, if you want to go around this, the main focus object, what you can do is again, press the middle key of the mouse and now try to rotate. Now when you move your mouse, you will go around the central object, whatever you are focused on. Similarly, you can achieve the same thing by pressing here and then moving it. You can go in any direction, either a GIF format X or Y. Like this. If you want to have a specific view, for example, you want to see the cube from x-direction. You can click on the X and it will show you that from the x-direction directly similar with the jet and divide. Please remember, this is a 3D format, so there is a positive and a negative side for the, for the all three axis. If you want to have a camera view, that means you want to see from the camera, press from your notepad like this. And now you can see what the camera is seeing right now. Please do not do it too fast, otherwise you can get dizzy and practice it for some time before starting the next lesson. Thank you. 4. Moving, Rotating and Resizing: Now we have our object in the center, but we want to move it rotate or Russia yet, how to do debt starting from moving? First of all, we select the object by clicking on it. When we selected the region orange glow around it. That means we have selected it. After selecting press G on your keyboard. When you press G on your keyboard, it turned white from orange, like this. Now it is white. That means we have selected object and press G key. After pressing the G, you can move it freely in any direction like this. Now, we can move the object in any direction as we please. But if you want to move in a certain direction, for example, like I want to move it in the y-direction. Y-direction here is this green line, and X is this red line. And a jet goes this way. So now I want to move it certainly in one direction. That is why. So what we do, first of all, let's select the object, then press G, and it turned white. Now, we want to move it in Y direction. So we know, press Y. After pressing Y, the gray line will grow up. That means the object is now only moving by direction. Now we can move over Mouseion any direction, and it will only move in Y like this. Similarly, with X, if you only want to move over object in X, press X after selecting G, and it will only move in X direction like this. Now, for the shameful jet, if all you only want to move it in jet, jet. Now, it only go up and down in the jet direction. To undo your process, you can right-click on your mouse and it will go in its original position like this. Again. For rotating it, you can again select the object, but this rank to rotate, you can press the key are after pressing. The orange glow will convert to white like this. Now, you can either move it freely like this in any direction or you can move it in certain direction. For example, Lexi, I press R and now I want to move it with X axis. That mean I want X line at each axis, press R, and then now X. And now it can only move X as X is like this. Similar to why when I press Y after add, it convert like this. And it can move only this way. Rotating this way. Similar to reject. I have told you how to move and rotate. What about size? To increase or decrease its side? Again, we click on it, press S on our keyboard like this. And after converting it into white, you can increase or decrease its size like this. And again, if you want to increase or decrease its size in only one direction, then we have to do it again. Press S, and then in which direction you want to increase or decrease its size. Press that key. For example. Let's do it in X. After brushing is X. And now it can only increase and decrease in x-direction, similar to Y. And now it can only increase and decrease in one direction. And same for yet. That's all for today. Thank you. 5. Getting Objects in Scene: Okay. How to get object in your scene. But first of all, how to delete them. Select any number of object you want to delete. After selecting, press X on your keyboard, and it will show delete option. Pressing on delete and everything will be gone. Now, to get new object on your screen, press Shift plus A, and it will open this menu. In this menu on the top, you can see mass, and going right. Here are some things that you can import in your scene plane Q circle, sphere, kosphere, cylinder, con, Taurus, grid monkey. These are by default options that you will see in your blender right now. Let's start from the start, starting with plane. This is the plane that you can import. Let's move it to the side by pressing g and y. Now, let's do again shift plus a mess, and then que and the ube is here. Let's say it doing again. Now we can also get a sphere like this. This is for today. Thank you. Okay. 6. Editing Object: Now we will do editing. Right now we are in object mode. That means we can play with the object but can't edit it. So going object to edit mode, we have to find a folder, select the object, and then press Tab. When we press the tab, we will see it changing here and here. Right now, we're in vertex mode. That mean we can select the vertices of the object who edited. Let's select one vertex. And when we select one of them, it will glow orange like before. After selecting it, we can move, rotate, resize it as we did with the object by pressing G and S. First of all, let me see how to grab it and move it. Press G, and now you can freely move it in any direction. Let's move it in Y direction. Press Y. And like the gym with this. And now Jack to move up and down like this. And to go back in object mode, press Tab again like this. Now you can see the objectives modified into a new form. Let you go back into edit mode. And now we want to edit with the edges, not with a vertice. How to do that? Then go here and press vertex. And now you can see older adults at disappeared. But now we can select the edges of the object like this. Whatever you select, it will start to glow. When you select an edge, you can again move, rotate or Russia with the same keys to move, press G and a direction key that you want to move in, like jet. Here. If you want to rotate it, press R, and then in which direction you want to rotate, like X or Y, like this. And for Resizing, press S. Again back to our object mode. And I told you about vertex and edge. What about phase? Let's go back to our edit mode. And now we can select to face mode. In this, we can select an whole face to edit like this. When we should lead to a phase, it will start to glow orange. Let's select it. And now to moving, press G. And we can freely move it or press jet to move it only in J direction like this. We can move any phase anywhere like this. And this way, you can edit any object into any form. Simply 7. Shade Smooth, Subdivide, Loop Cut: Now we will learn about Subdivide, loop cut and Shade smooth. To apply sub-divide, first of all, we have to select the objects that we want to apply your own. Let's select our cube and now go to Edit Mode from our Object Mode. To do so, we have to press Tab. Now we are in a word edit mode. Right now, we are in our face mode. We can select one phase of the cube or select the whole cube in edit mode by pressing a. This way we press all you together now to sub-divide. Press right key. And it will show you sub-divide. When you press sub-divide, the feces of the queue will divide into smaller parts. If you want to make them most model. In the lower left corner, you can see this option, gluconate. And here you can edit that you numbers. Right now, it is subdivided into one part. Increasing it will make it more subdivided like this. Let's go pretend Subdivide. Now, when we click anywhere on the screen, it will deselect the queue. And now it has many faces. Every side. Like this. We can do similar with the vertex and edge mode two. Now let's delete it and get a new cube. Now, I will tell you how to look at Loop Cut. Again, we have to select the object and go into edit mode. Now, in edit mode, go over the cube and press Control. Are, you will see this yellow line on the object. You, when you can go into direction like this way, like this way, or you can also go in this way that depend on the geometric object that you are. Loop cutting. When you press the left key, it will convert into orange color. Now, by rolling your middle mouse key, you can increase the numbers before going to orange mode or on any site to capitate. Let it go here and now apply it by clicking left key. Now it is applied. And the cubic divided into two part by the loop cut using the fish. We can see it. Right now. You can see there are two faces on the top. The bigger one and the smaller one. Smaller one and a bigger one. It is same everywhere. We can use Loop Cut. Again. On the bigger, like this. You can drag your middle mouse key to increase the number of loop cut like this. You can drag down to decrease the numbers and up to increase the number of loop cut. Let go with this. After clicking left, you can move it anywhere. Let's go here. And now it is loop cut it. And the QBI divided into many faces. For sex mood. First of all, we need a sphere. So Shift plus a. Now, click on UV sphere. Now we have our sphere here. First of all, click on it, and then right-click. Now you can see the option shade Smooth here. Click on it. And now our sphere is smooth. That's all for this video. Thank you. 8. Basic Coloring: Now I will teach you how to color it a cube. In this course, I will teach you basic Coloring. And in future courses, we can move to advance Texturing. First of all, let's go to the right part of the view here. And going below, you can see material properties. Clicking it. And you will see this format. You have to click on mu. And after clicking New, you will see something like this. Here. We can play with the colors. Better, metallic texture, roughness, and something more here. But right now you can't see the color of the cube for debt. You have to your solid view to the preview. For that. You can come in here on the top corner. Right now you are in solid view. You have to come in viewport shading, clicking it. And now you can see your cube should only look more brighter. Now, you can select it and come here on the base color, clicking on Basic color, you can see this color palette. And now you can play with colors that you want. Now you can see I'm moving my cursor in the color palette and how the color is changing on the cube. Netflix it on a blue color like this. In this shade, you can select the darkness of the color like that. More things are going down here. You can select the metallic property of the color. Increasing it will make it more look metallic. And here you can see the roughness of the material like this for this video. Thank you. 9. Setting up the Camera: The checkup your kinda, you first need a camera. To get a camera that shift plus a, you will get this menu going down here. You can see the camera clicking it. And you will get at Canva. You can see right now because you'd be in shade that you at the origin. But you can select it from here. Select here. And now you can move the camera with the keys. To move it, you need D resizing it, and now you can move it freely. Let's move it to the accessing G and X like this. Now you can see here the, the camera. If you want to see from the camera, you have to press numpad, GO like this. And now you can see from the camera diagonal, you can't see anything because the camera is not fixed on the object. For that, Let's go out my bracing zero. We can either select the camera and rotate it on jet axis like this, and then rotate on y-axis like this. This might be a good way. And now you can see it, but it is very time-consuming. For a faster way. You can go here and practice arrow key. Now, go on View and click camera to view. Now, we can move over Camera easily. Now. Closing it so you can see you can move your camera anyway, like this. Like you're moving your objects like this. To adjust the rotation of the camera, you can again go to the arrow, click on item. And here you can adjust the rotation of the camera. Right now if need a judgment on y-axis and Jared axis. Now, it is good. There you can select the, all the other things too. Like it position this way. Good to adjust to the Camera according to the scene. Shall for today. Thank you. 10. Background and Lighting: Let us start with background. For background, we will need a plane and to get a plane Shift plus a clinging on plane. Now, let's make it a little bit bigger like this. Now, will, will need a volt behind it to, for that. First of all, let's go to Edit Mode. Now. Select the edge, edit mode from here, clicking one edge and then pressing E. E is for extrude. Now we extracted it, but it is not straight. For that. You can impress jet, extrude it in J direction like this. And now it will only extrude in one direction it yet. Doing that, now we have a land for background, we have a land of all, but we need a smooth transition between them. So for that, click the edge in-between them and press Control plus B. This is a bevel command that will make it smoother. When you extrude it, you might not see it like that. You might seek like that to make it more smoother. Roll your middle mouse key up. And the more you roll it, the smoother it become. This much will be better for it. And now we have make the background like this. Back to our Object Mode. You can see it's not very delightful. Right now. There are some different shapes you can figure out to make it more smoother. Flushed, click on it, and then Shade smooth. When we do that, you can look how smooth it is now. Now, after making the background, we have to color it. But to color first we need to go from solid view to viewport. And for that, we, we click here. Now we are back in viewport. And to color it, we will need to go in material properties. That is on the right here. Looking here, you can click on New, and this will show all the color property for it. Let's give it light blue color. For now. This will work for it. Now for the lights, will repeat the process Shift plus a, and we will get the tab going down. You can see light. There are four different types of light here. The point, Sun, sport and area. The point light we use when we make a bigger model and we need to make a point source is light bulbs. Sun is something like we make a whole city or something like that. And then we need to copy the sunlight in that area. And sport and areolar chart, similar to make photographic light but in a smaller area or to focus on a model. For now, we will get the area light for this. Now you can see the area Lighting here. Let's make it bigger and move it on the jet axis. Approximately here. This is good. Right now you can't see any sunlight because we are in solid view. To shade the sunlight, you have to go in, render view. And clicking here. Now you can see how much in the sunlight. You can barely see any sunlight because the settings or the power are very low. For that, we have to go in right in the light section and increase the power. This will be good. And now our light is setup 11. Render Setting: After shutting over background enlightening, we can render our model. But before ending, we need to adjust some render settings. And that will tell in this video. First of all, we need to come in here on the right and select our render engine, licking it. That first, go to our viewport so we do not overdo anything. Coming to render board properties. First of all, we had to set our engine. There are three engines right now available in Blender. If workbench and cycles, we will be working in cycles engine. If it for gaming, like select cycles. After selecting cycles, you can see device's CPU. You can render your model on CPU, but it will not be efficient. To make it efficient. Click here and select GPU compute. After this. You can see here viewport and render settings. Render settings are the settings that will improve your adulation at a time of render. And viewport setting will be helped in this area. When we go into render view. These are good settings, but we do not need so much high resolution or sample size. So this is an error wide-eyed give you to decrease this number to 20.20. Sure that your CPU and GPU do not overload. Now we have shut our Indian two cycles and do is to GPU. And when we go to render view, you can see this is different from the last time. Look a little bit grainy. Dc because we are right now in cycle engine. Now to render rate, we can go here, render and click on rendered image. It will lottery render right now because there is no camera. But when we set up our whole project in the next video, there will be a camera and a sword model. And after that, when we click rendered image, it will render the image. Two cycles. Engine. Now, follow us to the next lesson, where I will teach you how to make the Sword from start to Phoenix and render it. Thank you. 12. Project PT 1: Modeling the Sword: Now we will start making our sword. First of all, I will remind you that you can see all the keys here that I am pressing. Now, we will start with the yellow part of the Sword. We need a cube for debt. Make it smaller, and take it up. Here. Let's make it wider. In the y-axis, approximately, this will be, I think, enough for it. We have to make it slimmer in the x-axis. This will be enough. For now. Now we make these two sides, Cinema 4D that we have to go in addict, Finish Edit Mode, and select these two coordinates. Now, when we try to make them Schliemann, it affect the whole cue. To only fact these two sides, we have to loop cut it for that control. Let's look at it three times. Now. Now, when we are getting selected, it will only affect these areas, not the whole cube. Like this. Now, it is slimmer in only one direction, X and not affecting the whole area. Now for the handle, we need a cylinder. Take it up and make it smaller. This will be the approximate size. Now make it longer in one direction, that e-jet. That it enough. Taking it a little bit down approximately here. Okay. Now we have to make the gripping the shear for that. Let's go to first edit mode. Now. Look at it several times. This will be enough. Now again, select the facial it more to select the whole line. You can click on one and then press Alt. This, we select the whole line across, which select it again. We can do that again, but this will deselect the original one to keep selecting this and select a new one, press Shift, then old, and then left key. Repeat this process a few times as you wish, like this, and then extrude it to make it bigger. But when you extrude, it will act like this. And this is not what we want. For a proper extrude. You can press E and then this will extrude a site that made it a little bit bigger. That's enough. This will be enough to give it the size like this. Now, we need the blade for that. We will again use the cube like this. Going into that mode. We get it approximately here, make it smaller accordingly, and make it bigger in one direction. This will be enough. Make it slimmer in X direction. This will be enough. Now, you can see the Sword taking shape, but it is brought for that. Going back to again. Now we make, have to make it this part pointer profession, edit mode. And now select this only face and make it smaller by S. But it rarely affect the whole swore. To make it proper. First of all, let sub-divide the whole area by loop cutting it, Control R. This will, this much will be enough. You can do it accordingly, you will need now it is divided, but it's still not working the proper way. Like this. It's still working for that have to proportional editing tool. For this, you can click here or press OK. Now, you can see a circle forming around your sword, the area you are affecting. You can scroll up and down to increase or decrease the area. For now, it will be enough for this and make diarrhea smaller. Now, this is perfect. Now our basic shape is here. The last thing is to put the gym for that, we just need a sphere, make it smaller, and make it fit. Here. This will be now. Let's make it a little bit outward, like this. And this look very good. Now, we need a background for the Codec. First of all, a plane like this. Now for the back, go into edit mode. Edit mode, and extrude it above. Make that transition smoother between land and the background. Click here and Control B for bevel. This material well enough. When you click, this option will appear. From here, you can increase the smoothness. Let it at five. This will be enough. Now we have our background, endless war, but it looks a little bit weird to make it smoother. Click on it, Shade smooth, and it will smooth. You can do shameful the jam on this world. Nowadays, Smooth Tool. Now we have now we have to color it. That is in the next video. 13. Projet PT 2: Texturing, Lighting & Rendering: I'll color it. First of all, we have to go in viewport for that. Click here. Now you can see everything is now brighter. Let's start with the handle. Click here, go into material properties and click New. After clicking New, you can color it in a base color here. Let's go with the original colors. Brown here. Make it a little bit darker. Like this. This will work. We can also increase the roughness a little bit to go in with the original one. Now, for the yellow handle, again, repeat the process and make it yellow. Let's make a little bit metallic and increase the roughness. Same with the blade. You can go. We don't need to change the color this time only the brightness, a little bit down, and then make it more metallic like this. And a little bit of roughness down. That's OK. Now for the jump, the gems are really reflective. So first of all, select the color for the gym, then decrease the roughness. This will be enough. For the background. You can select any color. I will again go with the original one and make it a little bit bluer. And now we have colored over swore. Now we will use the camera like this. The camera is here. Let's set it here. Right now we can move it properly. For that, we have to go to this arrow view and camera at it. Now we can move our camera by going inside it. This n, and it will disappear. But at zero to go inside the camera. And now you can move your camera with your mouse. First. Digested or roughly shape. I'm shutting it roughly. You can go in items and properly cited page better. We have to make our background ready to vote on the y-axis like this. And it is working now. Who go out of camera view again, press number to zero. Now we're almost set. First. We have to set up our light, the area light. They speak and shut it properly here. Our lighting and set the renderer and we have to first select our engine, cycles. The device to GPU, and sample size to a minimum quantity. So we do not overload our CPU. Now to set the lighting for select the light, go into light and increase it according to your need. This will be around 600 words. For now. Maybe 800 words will be perfect. Yes. To view your view, how it will look. You can go in camera view in the render settings. Now it is set. You can do a minor adjustments like the metallic and the roughness. Now it is done. Now, we can render our first. Now we can render our first model by going on Render and click render image.
