2. Creating Paper: Hello guys. Today we will learn
more about palm trees. What does it parts, and how to paint them in
watercolor and gouache style. I will show you what are the
differences between styles, which technique you can use. I hope you already. So let's move to next part where I will show
you what we have for our today's class and where I will show you how to
create texture paper. We need to tap Plus and
after setTab plastic, after I 12, parent nine inches. As you see if you have
300 DPI resolution and maximum layers that
we can have his view. Tab create. This our today's paper. As you see, this is almost
the size of our iPad. Why I changed the size of our
paper a little bit today. Because I want to place more botanicals on a paper and create some
lovely composition. What we should do is we'll
create a couple of new layers. And after that, our next step, we need to export all our previous interests
of procreate how it was at. Where guys, when
you open my class, please do it in browser. It can be Chrome or Safari. Because if you opened my
class in the Skillshare app, my freebies might
not be visible. As a next step
where you can find all my freebies in projects and sources section in
the right corner under the headline resources, you can see all my freebies, your downloads app to say you can find them in
downloads folder, in your files app on iPad. Now let's export our paper. You need to APP action pattern, tap, Add and tap
answered the file. After Sir, to go to
Downloads folder, you will find our papers there. This is our garage paper I've rotated and I will
press fit to screen. But you see because
the size is a little bit too big of our canvas, we need to move our paper
to the edges like this. Okay, Next step, let's
duplicate our layer and move blend and layer mode to
Linear Burn and Color Burn. I have to say it
implicate linear burn one time and merge it together. I have to set duplicate Color Burn and merge
it together as well. Next, LavAzza linear
burn mode till 50%, like this may be even
55. Okay, great. And don't change the opacity in our color burn mode,
it's totally fine. Next to select two layers
and you press Group. After that, you
need to rename it. You can write paper. Next we will rename one of the layers and we will
arrive to paint here. Now let's duplicate this
layer a couple of times. Perfect. Thank you. Great. Now the papers graded, guys, once again, pay attention. When you create your artwork, when you paint, please
do it on their knees. Our paper layer group. Now I want to show
you how to export our sketches into the Procreate. I can't create, as you
see you split screen, you place a Procreate app in the right corner and file's
app in the left corner. Now I have another folder because I created
those sketches, but all your sketches will
be in downloads folder. What you should do next, you will just go and drag
and drop the sketch here. Interested in Procreate. I'll be able to create
one more layer. Turn off this one. I want to drag and drop all the sketches
into the Procreate. Because later we're going to
create loudly composition. Same you will be as you see
this color palette here. And same you've been
told is our brushes, you just need to drag and
drop it into the Procreate. And it will be in em
on color palettes. And it will be M on your
brush set instance. You see it says a brush set. I'm ready to show
you all the brushes. What oriental dry brush, very cool brush if
you want to add some texture and you
want to show some lines. Gouache brush, brush. If you have watched
my previous classes, you already know what is it? This is amazing brush
that can help you to add some gouache
texture gouache, look to your illustration. And this brush has
some color variations. So it means new each
stroke you have. Some dynamic and
colors, which is cool. Next book, Raj blender. You can use this brush as a brush and as a
blender as well. So how to use it as a blender? You need to tap Loan tab. And now we have our brush set and we have our
blue gouache blender. As a blender, you can just
blend the colors nicely. The last brush is that it's
related to the quash set, if we can say so, his book raining, this
brush is amazing. If you want to add some
texture to our illustration, brush, my watercolor
brush pressure sensitive. And you can control the size
and opacity is at edges. I liked brush, both crab and as a watercolor
brush that I created. So it also can help you
to add some texture, watercolor background if
you want to add some shade. So collaborations, brush
is perfect for that. Clear. Both scratch, I edit and
I created this brush, especially for the
vintage look said, we're going to add to our second illustration
to our gouache artwork. Dry brush. Great brush is a
little bit smudgy, also cool and I will use
it for our watercolor art. Monoline. Great for some
calligraphy write-ins. Amazing. We're going
to use it as well. Flicks native procreate brush. I will add it as splatters in our watercolor illustration. Bored read, rank this stamp brushes will help us to add realistic look to our artwork. And I'm planning to edit to
our gouache illustration. Pool pounds release I
actually, as you see here, 123455 brushes or his
palm tree leaves. And you will have
some variations. And you can decide by yourself which way you want to
paint a palm tree leaves. This is a first one. And nasa brush. This brush is amazing if you
want to add more leaves. Also guys, what I wanted to
tell you about the brush set. So as you see this one, brush that is called more palm
trees leaves chaotically. As you see when we paint
a palm tree leaves, It's not straight like what we have in our
last brush like here. If you want to adjust some of the direction of the
leaves, you can do it. You go to our brush. After that he will go to the shape and you see
we have scattered. When you control the
scattered can be straight forward in its fine. You can also say, what
else you might do. You can go to Properties, you can adjust the
size of the brush. It can be bigger or smaller. It's up to you. The things
that I wanted to show you, you can control the
size of a tutor. What is it? So as you see around, you don't touch jitters. The leaves have the same length. But when we adjust
the size field, maybe 40, 50%, you
see some leaves are shorter and sound
leaves or longer. I think it can help us. It helps us to add more realistic look
to our illustration. It's up to you. I gave you some options. And if you wanted to
go to the brushes and adjusted to accordingly
to your preferences. We have boundaries. Clear. Next palm tree leaf guys, I will explain you how
to create sketches, but if you want to
save some time, you can create it by yourself. Or actually you already have palm tree and you can paint it. You can just use my same
brushes and start creating your illustration
without spending time on paint and sketch. This is a stamp brush
such as school. If you want to create some
abstract illustration or gouache style illustration, watercolor stamps, if you
press harder as a stamp, will be, you'll have
like brighter color. Also Whittaker stamp 20. This stamp is cool
if you want to add some watercolor texture and
I'll show you how to do that. One of my, one of my
stamp, and that's it. Now if we move to
our color palettes, we have gouache palm tree and you have
watercolor palm tree. I will make watercolor
pound three. I will set it as a
default color palette. So that means when we go
to disk here underneath, we will have our color palette. That's very convenient. Next step, if you
just want to keep your color palette all the
time on your working place. You can just do like this. You have your color palette and it's very, very convenient. I guess we don't need it now, so I will just close it, but later we can use
the color palette. I think we are ready. Now. We will move to the
next part where I will explain you what as if
parts of the palm tree. For our today's class, I prepared for you some pictures that were
taken by me and say, can you can use for
your own artworks. I hope you've your
legs with pictures. And I prepared for
you some explanation. These pictures and
we some titles of some part of the palm tree and how to explain
it to you right now. As you might see here, we have a trunk, this one. And it's elongated stamp. You know what, we have stem
in the florals and palm tree. It's just like a can tell
this is a big flower, but kind of this is tree trunk, which is called elongated stem. And as you see it
has some texture that is very important
because when we paint, we also need to show this
texture in order to show the realistic look
to be as close to the regional illustration
to nature as possible. Once again, you
can download says explanation and check it
later on your own iPad. You might zoom it
and see it closer. So this is a tree trunk. Is the next part is Mary stem. What is it? This is a growing point
where we can find a pound three fruits, awards. They are coconuts. Next part is the crown
of our tree trunk. Its leaves or France, or this one here you
might see is a leaf. They're very beautiful
as they have different shapes,
different directions. Once again, we
have the palm tree and that tree trunk is
called elongated stamp. This is this one and this
stem is very textured. You might see it. When we use watercolor
or gouache, we need to show the texture by mixing colors like different
colors, one with each other. So as you see, we
have lighter part and after darker spot. Again, lighter
sport, darker spot. As you see, we have like
alliance that horizontal. Later when we start painting, I will show you
how to show it on our illustration as a next part, once again, it's
called meristem. This is a growing point
where we can find the beginning of our leaves and where we can find the coconuts. Next part we have
leaves or France said as a crown
of our palm tree. Now you know a better word
as a part of a pump tree. And I think you're ready to
create sketch by yourself. That will be our next
part of the class. Let's jump into the next class.
3. Creating Sketch: So guys, for today's class, I prepared lots of
pictures of palm trees. Ai expert exam here
into the Procreate. But once again, you're
going to use them as references and they will be in different place and I
will show you later how to export them properly. But because I need big screen, I export them right
into the layers. Once again guys, I wanted to take pictures of
different palm trees. You might see better that all of them are so
differences, so unique. So you might see this
as a first palm tree. You see we have the roots, elongated stem meristem, you see the growing point
and we have the leaves. Next one. I like this palm tree
looks so unusual. You see the tree
trunk is so textured. This is another tree and says
so unique, so different. Let's move to the next
picture is this one. Here you see the merit stamp
is brought to his leaves. As a way you see the way how they're growing is so different. So I'll show you, I wanted to show
you the difference and you might
choose which style, which picture you
might like more. I like the style and
the leaves of this, a palm tree into
color is so unique. I especially like the
last illustration, as you might see, it has
amazing composition. I decided to choose these two pictures for
our today's class. As you see, they're
on separate layer. And this is the
first illustration. And as you see, I want to
paint like close up of a palm tree because I wanted to show properly as a tree trunks, leaves are very special
and as you see, we have coconuts and I
think it's beautiful also, I like the sky background. This illustration,
we're going to use air for our watercolor illustration. The second one, we're going to paint these three palm trees. And I will paint
them in Core style. I could've kinda want to add some vintage wipes to
our second illustration. And let us do it together. Once again, if you don't
like those illustrations, you might use your own pictures. You might use them as references
that I prepared for you. It's up to you. I give you the
freedom, creativity. I want to see your unique style set you will add into
your illustration. Now, I think we
are ready to move to creating sketch part. I don't need source
reference pictures. I will delete them. I will
delete this picture as well, and I will turn on
our paper layer. Once again, guys, we will paint underneath our
paper layer group. I will move to dark color, almost dark, almost black color. And as a sketch and brush, we're going to use port
oriental dry brush. This time I decided to
use my own brushes, not native Procreate brushes. But once again, you might use any other brushes that are
good for the sketching part. You might choose monoline brush, inker brush, which is
also one of my favorite. But I think because we're gonna use watercolor
illustration first, I want to combine these brush altogether
is our illustration. Let's move to the next part. Now I will show you how to
export our references to properly that we can use
for our illustration. So we need to go
to Actions button. After that, go to Canvas
and go to press reference. We need to go to image. After that press Import Image, go to our camera roll and
find our preferences that downloaded previously from
our previous problems or projects and sources section. Okay, great. You might see we have
beaches needed two pictures. We have two ways how
to create sketch. This is a first way. For example, I'm going to
paint some three drunk guys. You don't need to be accurate. Our aim, because
this is watercolor. So our aim is just to
show like very sketchy. Zell alliance emphasize
their coconut. So they should be here. And as you see why I
like this illustration, because this composition
is very unique. We don't have the
whole palm tree right in our center
of our attention. You see part of the
coconuts is hidden from us. Along with leaves
and the tree trunk. We don't see the whole tree. And this is amazing because the tree trunk is in the
center of our attention. It's not distracted by any
other objects, which is great. And also, when I
took the picture, I tried to follow the
rule of golden rice. That means that when
we place our object, we don't place triceps
right in the center. The more a little bit to the
left or to the right side. That means when we
look at illustration, it's more pleasant
for us to look at zed and it's eye-catching. I'm painting our coconuts, you can so mad, we
have all leaves here. You can show it
here a little bit. Some coconuts a didn't actually have more
and more than four. And try to control
the proportions. Maybe it's for us, it might
be a little bit difficult. So don't worry. If you think that the coconuts might be a little bit bigger, what you might do, you
can go to liquefy tool. And here we have options. You can push it a little. If you don't think that your
tree trunk is straight, you can just move it this way. But I think my tree trunk is
normal or you can expand it. It means make it bigger. I want our coconuts to
be slightly bigger. Push, want to make it bigger. Lexis? Same. I want to make the leaves
slightly longer, cool. So we played a little
bit with proportions. Now let's paint leaves. Once again, remember we have
the special brush for sad. You don't actually need
to show it properly. Just schematically show. Whereas they should be located. Leaves are so big. This palm tree, like this. We have one leaf. Second, third, fourth,
fifth, sixth, seventh, 12. This third, 1, fourth. Maybe it's a little
bit too far away. Leaf is a little bit
far away from us. Once you can see your, You shouldn't be that accurate. Just schematically show the
direction of the leaves. Look at this way. Here. Two biggest part of
leaves is hidden from us or cave you how
long live here? Premises side. How's it pay attention? You need to leave some gaps. In some areas
between the leaves. You see, might see
some of the leaves, the direction of the
leaves is different. So schematically, we
showed our pound three. It looks very interesting. If you want, you can make this palm tree a
little bit whiter. Go to lick, if I
increase the size. Like this. That was the first way how you
can create sketch. This is our second pound tree. And another way is
I'll show you need to export this picture into Canvas and it should
be m. And cell layers. Go to Actions, Add,
insert a photo. Next, you need to
increase the size of the palm tree of
the pictures here. You can turn off
the paper layer. Opacity. Create one layer, layer if we have the same brush and you
can just trace it. It's very simple. It saves lots of time. You can just show one coconut, shows that the erection
of palm tree leaves. Once again, remember said
it shouldn't perfect. We're going to turn off
the sketch layer later. Of course, if you
want, you can keep it, but I think it would be
better without that. So this is another option. But I think if you want to
practice your painting skills, your drawing skills
is better to look at illustration and try to
paint it on your canvas. It will help you to
practice the skills. And when you do it very often, with each new time, you'd be more and more
confident doing zed. That's why what I wanted to do. I want to look at say,
illustration and painted myself. I zoom it a little bit. I looked at the artwork. I just schematically need to
show us a palm tree leaves. Our aim is to show location Hobbes upon
tree show its main parts. And it will be easier for us to paint to start adding
some colors when. In this dark paint, also on my thin, as you see, the way how we placed our
paper is slightly different. So my suggestion
is we can rotate this sketch because as
I mentioned earlier, I want to make some
gouache illustration with some vintage wipes. And I wanted to make
some kind of postcard. That's why it's important for us to find a proper
location for them. Have two or more pantries. Once you can look
at SAP position, It's a way How's palm
tree is growing? You can turn off the first one. Guys, as you see, I started
painting it on a new hair. Because later if I
want like something, I can just change the position. Because I think that composition might be
slightly different. My suggestion don't
paint too much palm tree leaves because we will have so many palm trees
next to each other. And if you add too much leaves, it might be a little bit messy. For us. It's pretty good. One more tree. It's a little bit tilted,
maybe 2530 degrees. Summit. Look at some meristem. It has some coconuts. Yes, part of the
leaves are hidden, but you can use
your imagination. You don't need to follow. Step-by-step says
reference illustration. You can add your
black on the region. You see, thanks to the
position of the leaves, we can show a little
bit of the wind. You see some of the leaves
are tilted along visit three. And he'd get help
us create some kind of moot to our illustration. Now let's think
about the position. This is a main three. It should be like bigger. Now we have told my
leaves to my trees behind. That's very important. Try to like stay away from. As you might see, some main
trees a little bit longer. I'm going to go to the free
form and just make it longer. Be careful because
it might affect SAP, affects the proportions. I think I went to
make such drink drunk little bit thicker. I know on our picture
is not that thick, but when we make it thicker, we will show that say S3
is this is a biggest tree. First TO it's an, a center of our inch. Maybe the part which is
next to the meristem can be slightly thinner. Go to the size and
push it a little bit. The last palm tree. Go to the uniform. You can use uniform,
Youth uniform. And once again, some of the
palm trees can be behind, like he sees the leaves. They might go beyond. Our cameras. In my suggestion, you sit down, place it symmetrically
from two sides. Two sides from the
main palm tree because it would
not look at coal. Lexis. Guys, one within, let's just group all our layers. This is the first illustration
is a second illustration. We will turn to rotate the
canvas when we needed. Also guys, what else you
might do if you don't want to spend too much time
on creating sketches, you might go grabs the palm
trees that I've already created like first 1, second 1. And you might create sad
composition by yourself. Place it in a way
you want them to be placed and start coloring. I gave you many,
many options and choose the ones it
is suitable for you. Now let's move to next part. I hope now it's clear
how to create sketch. What is it part of palm tree. And we feel very confident
and we can move to the next part where we will create a watercolor
illustration. We will turn our palm tree
sketch into a watercolor art. Let's do it.
4. Creating Watercolor Illustration : Now we're ready to paint watercolor illustration
that econo, large capacity of our sketch because that's irrelevant
in the future. Now we need it, but
later we'll turn it up. We're going to use our
watercolor brushes. I will start with his
pull up our brushes. I will start peace tree trunk. So guys, if I need to use a scalar palette or should we
don't need to put it here? Once again, we are on a
layer that is underneath. Our previous layers. Don't forget to turn on
the paper layer group because it will help us to have this realistic watercolor
and gouache look. If you want, you
can have some gaps. Normal. I want to create
some loose watercolor art. Look at our
illustrations is part of the tree trunk
will be darker. Also in areas where
two objects and next to each other
who have shades. Now I want to add some colors, and later I've blended. Now I want to paint a coconut. I will touch on a new layer. As you see it. I intentionally
leave some white eclipse. Last coconut is wonderful. Now let us create, I want to grab this pretty
bright grayish color. I will add some color
variation to the leaves. Don't worry for now
you think I was, the colors is saying, but it's fine later I will add some shades and
they look different. Create one more
layer underneath. Grab darker color. Next I will create
one more layer above. I'm ready to grab our pound
three leaves, brushes. I want to grab this chaotically. One. Let me change the color. Pretty bright green color. Hadn't worry later. I want here I will add some
kind of make it bigger. I'll add more leaves. You can create one more layer
and try not to overlap. Leaves. If you want, you can change the leaf. Next. As you may see, my leaves
are very big here. If you want, you can make
all of them are pretty big, but also be careful. Remember about the proportions. Make it better. I exist. Let's return, create
one more layer. Let me think. Create one more layer. Adds a leaf-like said, Don't worry later we can
add some color variations. Like the way it looks now. I want to change it. Maybe I will erase
similar leptons. Because as you see it's
a tree trunk is clear. We don't have some leaves
setup blockings tree trunk. Now let's go to the
background color. We will create one more
layer underneath of everything and
grab bluish color. And the next step, let me grab my
watercolor background. Increases size. I want to show. Cars, don't worry later we will have some color
variations as well. As a next step, guys, it's very important we need
to remove the transparency. Why you should do that? Because as you see when
we have the transparency, we have the overlapping and our colors and not clean enough. The affected by the colors it has answered are
armed and knees. So our aim is to remove
this transparency. One more reason is
why we should use it, because if you want
to add some shades, color variations, and we need to use Clipping
Mask or alpha lock. Our layer, our shapes
might not be visible. What we should do,
I will duplicate the layer of our background. Go to lower layer after, go to Adjustments, Hue,
Saturation and Brightness. And most uprightness to 100%. Merge everything together. Next, I will merge together as the old
leaves will be coconuts, and I will keep it that way. And now I will return
to the tree trunk. I go to the lower layer,
hue saturation brightness, and increase the
brightness to 100%. Next, duplicate it. One more time, merged
together and merged. So as you see, now, our tree trunk is not dark, which is cool, and it's
what we actually need. When we paint. See we don't paint on a tree trunk and it's
perfect, It's what we need. But as you might
see, this layer, it's still kind of transparent. So I will duplicate it. Go to lower layer, hue
saturation brightness. Locate the layer which is
white and merge that together. Sam, you see as the leaves, leaves are pretty transparent
and you can see it here. You see, we see is a coconut. Now our aim is to make
some less transparent. So if you're going to
do same procedure, duplicate layer with leaves, go to lobby layer,
hue, saturation, brightness, and turn
to maximum 100%, duplicate it two times and
merge everything together. Now as you see, our leaves are less transparent. Same here. Now our lives are not
transparent anymore and we actually don't
need a reference picture. I will turn it off. Now, aim is to create a pretty similar
compositions that is very related to our
reference picture. Once again, like I
told you, if you want, we will try to create
loose watercolor art. Our lines might not be said. Click obvious. Next step, I want to blend
these parts a tree trunk, make it look more
realistic, more beautiful. I will go to the tree trunk
and I will press Alpha Lock. Why we did set? Because finally press Alpha Lock and we start painting on it. Don't go beyond the lines. I'll show you Example. I grab both scrub brush. I grabbed dark brown color. When I start coloring, you see I don't go
beyond the lines beyond the edges
of our tree trunk. Same little tube
is blending tool. As a blender, I'm
gonna use Bootstrap. Thank you. Now if it'll have overlapping says like what we needed to do, we can turn off our
Alpha Lock mode. Next step, our next aim, we will start adding shades. How to do it? We'll
create one more layer above and I will
press clipping mask. And now it's in a
Clipping Mask mode. And it's kind of similar to alpha lock
because when we paint, we also don't go beyond the
line over the tree trunk. But the difference is
if you don't like it, you can just turn off the layer
and you might not use it, but when we do same in the alpha lock on
our original layer, you can just remove
what you have done. Neutral stay with
you on a layer. So it's very kind of been head
and I liked clipping mask. Let's clear it and start
adding some sheets. Yep. I have a grabbed dry brush. I want to show as I told you, remember, we have this lines. We need to show the lines
thanks to the brush. We need to show says. Texture. And try. Brush works perfectly for Zed. See, some lines are lighter,
sometimes a darker. We can show us the
lightest part as well. Next thing, what
else you might do? You can create one more layer in-between and it's in
a Clipping Mask mode. And you can move two
multiplies and place it. The top. What does it mean? It's
an a Clipping Mask Mode. We steal can go beyond the
lines of the tree trunk. But as a difference is, is that when we paint, because it's multiply,
it will be darker. Here. If you want. You can go even darker part. And as you see is the lower part of tree trunk is a
little bit darker. Like saves his **** and answer, they also have some texture. The same. I'll create one more layer,
press clipping mask. Be careful. I will grab this brownish color. I think I went like
to move to multiply. I wanted to show the texture. See it amazingly shows a texture that our
palm tree fruits have. Perfect knowledge. The end, we still need
to add more shades. I'll create one more
layer in-between. It's an a Clipping Mask Mode. I go to multiply. And now I will grab
watercolor background. Grab brownish color. Be careful because this
brush is pretty big. And you can show
some shades here. Right in the middle of
our coconuts here we have a dark shade because two
objects are next to each other, like I told you about
where we have shades, you also have highlights,
so don't forget, you also need to show
some light parts. Also blending tool and
blend some sharp lines. I like this brush,
it's very natural. I wanted to just say
him, he's a tree trunk. I'll create one more layer. Multiply. I want to show me see,
Let's make it bigger. I want to show the
shade everywhere. Now we need to show
highlights. How to do that. I'll create one more
layer. On the top. It will be normal. Yellow color and
lighter, almost white. Tv shows, they're highlights. It looks very rarely stick. I didn't expect it
to be set realistic. Same. Place it on the top. It's an a Clipping Mask Mode. We wanted to show some
highlights on our palm tree. I came down with this part. If you want to, you can
add even more shades. I'll show you how it does it. I'll merge it together and
merge this layer together. Next step I want to
show some shades. Clicking Mask Mode
on a tree trunk. Multiply grandpa, scrub, brush. And let's change the color to dark one to show a little
bit of texture as well. Yeah, it looks good. Append it and then I can't sandwiches our coconuts.
Clipping mask. Multiply. Now let's control the size. Unless shows a difference between we need to separate
what coconut permanent other. Also show some shade on leaves that are next
to the coconuts. Once again, grep blending tool. If you think it's too sharp, comes, they come
out very realistic. I didn't expect it to be
set realistic really. You can show shades
from cell leaves. Wonderful. I have a merged together
and merge it together. We've done it with
coconuts and tree trunk. Now it's time to add
some colors to leaves. I want to make some more
realistic also, as you see, we have like the heart of our leaves and we need to
start adding it to swell here. Well, Paul brush, edit some stem style. We need to remove the
transparency like we did before. Don't worry that
too bright now but later I will make
some less bright. Plays him and knees
like saying is perfect. Next step I went to make our sky little bit
more colorful. So how I will do, I will go to grab free hand, select some random areas, upset, go press feather, 12%. Go to hue saturation brightness, and you can play
with the colors. With saturation. I want to make it
more color like this. Now this guy who
look more realistic. Next, next, next, we have our lovely leaves and I want to add more leaves to
our illustration. Now I want to merge some
of the colors together. Now I want to add a
little bit more leaves. I have a graph and
nasa color, brighter. Grab four pound tree
additional leaves. Going to make it bigger. If I remove some
observer leptons are palm trees are leaves
a little bit messy. This what we need. Now we'll create one
more leaves here. We can flip vertical if
the position of leaves is different and removes the
part that is overlapping. Same from this side. Create one more here in case if direction is not what
we need, but It's good. News, free form. Control it. We can grab eraser
as an eraser we will use for
watercolor background because it will help us to make our leaves look more kinetic. Core. Now we will create
one more layer. Let me think. Yeah, we will take
additional leaves. Alex account relieves sparsely
Aside where to place it, but as you see it,
when you just lift from this side but
not from another. This way, people will remove, deletes it's part of leaves. Correct? Selection tool, select the leaves
three fingers down. Prescott. In parts of as overlapping
says to office, you can just erase an eraser. We will use postgraduate. I think a good credit history. If you want, you can
use free-form tool. It makes the leaves a little bit wider. If you want. You can crab, apple brush. I think I've learned to
play so sleeves on top, place it on a top coat. I think. If you need to have very
like of this slide, tentorial later,
to make it better. Let's move to the next part. Merge together, create
one more layer. Let's think. Let's add additional leaves. Now let's grab for palm tree
leaves sparsely. Let's move. In this part, more leaves here and some
leaves in this area. And I think it's great. Now it's time to
add some shades. Merged together also
leaves like this. And now it's time
to add some shades. And now to add some
color variations. I'll create one molarity
above press clipping mask. Grab bluish color. Go to color, background, increases size, and I will
start to add some shades. We can play around, try to add Mach, others. Later. I'm going to blend
some of the shades. Next, I'll create one
more layer above, clip it off to multiply. Because I wanted to have
some darker shades. I will remove some
overlap bands. Of course, to create one more layer underneath
needs of everything. I think I'll move to multiply. Now let's go to this part. Clip it. Greenish another. Same increases size. Create one more layer. Multiply, pump relook, surrealistic. I think I like the way it looks
how nurse had to get her. It's time to add
some stamp brushes. I think the question
is standard would be more interested in
how it would look. I'll create one more layer. Clip it to multiply graph. What kind of stamp 22. I want to show some strokes is. It looks so cool. You are trying to add some
watercolor look to this. Guy. Looks amazing. I'll merge it together. After the title go to curves. I can make it brighter. I'll keep etcetera. Saying what I will do. I will go, I will go to
the top of all the layers. Move to multiply. Grab greenish color, greenish, green for this one. Same stamp. Now we can add some
realistic attach. Like I told her, I
wanted to create some loose watercolor
illustration. Play these colors. Select Slayer. Think where you
want to place it. If you wanted to
grab brown color. Create one layer, multiply. Maybe turn to dark. Like sad. In one mole here. Multiply. Because multiply
blending layer mode looks more realistic,
use free-form tool. Remove the parts
that you don't need. The rest just blend. You can grab purple color, bluish, merge together, create
one more layer, multiply. And you can show like
this guy bleeds into. Their palm tree. I think I went to
make it brighter. I think I went to crap pride
green color right now. You wear green. Green. Also want to update it. Maybe make it a little
bit darker, a pen. Think where you want to buy a summary here. Guys, our illustration is
ready. Almost, almost. I forgot about flicks. To buy. Some greenish ones. And now push. If you want to make
your way some of them. Let me think. Last part. I'll give you any
dark color palette. The last part, what
else we might need? We can merge
everything together. Likes his new tau
reference picture. For now. We can create some
kind of frame. You can duplicate it and
make it brighter or lighter. Let me think. Merge it together, duplicate one more time. Uniform, not free form. And I want to place it
here right in the center. It looks great.
Next, if you want, you can keep us at way resource edges or if you
wanted to congratulate crop. This one both scrub brush
as an eraser and erase. Some like Porter's make it less. Teach tie. Surprise. Makes alliance moralistic exist. Last step, you can
grab a dark color. Create one molar above,
grab my monoline. Your My Drive like, See you there next
summer. See you there. Who've done with our
first illustration in watercolor style. And now let's move on
to next part and we will have illustration style.
5. Creating Gouache Illustration : Innovation, game quest style. I grouped all our layers related to the
watercolor illustration, and I'm going to turn them off. Now. I am on the layer that is
underneath of everything. We have our sketch. Let me find it. Yeah, this one. We'll
rotate as a paper. Great. Now when
you tau reference, picture, tap, Canvas reference. And let's move to our
illustration here. Now we need our color palette. Paul and three will be
our next color palette, and I will set it as a default. Next, I will place it here. Lovely. I will merge everything together,
lower that opacity. I need to grab the new brush, book wash brush. I'm ready. What is cool about his brush? With each new stroke, you'll have different
color variations. Also, what is cool about
gouache illustration is said, unlike watercolor art,
it's not transparent, so you don't need to
remove the transparency. Duplicated layers what we did in our gouache illustration. And it is very, very convenient. Style is you might
see its different. Also said palm tree leaves. We're going to paint
like step-by-step. By using just our brush. We want to use ten brushes
you'll want to suppress as a dual using during
watercolor illustration. This is cool because this
new way how to paint boundaries are always wanted
to go to the color path. And this one, I paint everything in one layer because it's more convenient. Now create one more
layer because I want the leaves to be paint
on a separate layer. Also, like I told you, we're going to paint an
illustration of vintage style. And that's why I wanted to use some specific colors
for our illustration. I wanted to create
some particular color for the background. It felt that our
background color, and let's return to our layer. Grab green color, bright
one, green color, grab. There's a site of surprise. We can start
painting pound tree. Here you have an option. You can draw that line by line. You can just draw
us a basic shape. When you lift your
Apple pencil from the screen and you
start painting again, again, give a half
some coloration. It grandpa, oriental dry brush as an eraser. Carefully erase. Great. Now let's add some
shades to this palm tree. If you'd like to have an option, you can just do exist. But we need to be careful and try to remove
sick gap lines here. Excess lines to be thinner. How place it underneath
a palm tree and coconut. Be careful here. Be careful guys. When you need to fill the layer like some object we see color. You need to be sure that
you didn't leave any gaps. For example, because
if you tried to feel their circle like this, you can't do it
because it's not full. But if you make the
circle like zed and you feel the air inside,
it's possible. Grade. Now the last
step, palm tree here. Now we need to create one more
layer for the new leaves. We can mix a color
slightly lighter. Careful. Clipping mask. Next we need to crab
boat tree trunk. Careful. You need
to select a color. Once you can see it's
in a Clipping Mask. You go beyond two lines. Next we can grab a
darker color. A lion. Multiply. Okay, if your thing
is this is not too obvious. We can go to the curves and make this line
slightly darker. I like it, looks beautiful. Now, we can lobby, set our opacity of our sketch
layer even more. I exist. We can keep edit shades, clipping, mask,
grab darker color, grade book wash brush. And we can show some shades. Same here. Now we need to create one more layer. Clip it. Now I want to add some shades. Does a tree trunk
as well as a shade. Be careful as it stood. The shader we'll be froms left side here a bit. Now I want to show the
shade on our coconuts. Be careful how I
create one more layer. It's in the Clipping Mask mode. And I'll move tomato SAP, pass it a little
bit, maybe to 50%. Here's a blender. I will use book wash planter. I want to make it
look more realistic. Flex our palm tree. A very lovely. Now I want to play some
shade around the coconuts. How I grab a green color, create one more
layer in between. It's in a Clipping Mask Mode. I have him off to multiply. First of all, I want to merge
together our shades Yeah. And merged together everything. Create one more
layer clipping mask. You can set it as a multiplier. We can keep it that way. Both ways are fine. I will move to multiply. Multiply. I want to love yourself. Basicity, axis. Maybe blended tiny bit, but I don't want to blend
too much. Okay, cool. Next I want to show some ground. How I've said. I will grab book rainy. Grabs this. Let me think. Dark green color. Merge together. Merged together this part, I can't now I want, I've emerged together
also layers. You see our stem and coconut
separated froms and leaves. I want to add some, a little bit more grains. How I will do it? I will create one layer clip. It, moved to multiply again, grab a green color,
dark green color. And I will grab
book grainy brush. I want to show a
little bit shades. Don't press too much. Like said, same I will
to visit tree trunk. Multiply. Dark color. Just a little bit. After the lovers are positive. Same pieces, part cave. You have some texture. Looks very beautiful. I'll merge it together and merge together. Now I want to show some ground. Grandpa oriental, try brush. Grab something between
green and brown color. Looks also very cool. Next I want to add some greens. Multiply, grabbed Postgres, which I love her SAP BW OS at a little, it says, next step, what I will do, I will
select all of it. I will lower set
size a little bit. Place it to the center. Now I want to show some porter. Create one more layer above. Let's throw us a rectangle. Once again, our group oriental
dry brush draws a line, a tough one finger
line is very straight. I'm going to do same
frenzy said one line. Same here. Online. As you see, even if your handwriting
is not perfect, It's fine. Procreate can help you to
draw very straight lines. Like said. We have as a
frame, it looks beautiful. If you want to control
like a double frame. If you would like.
The second frame, I don't want to make
it perfectly straight. As you see business frame. I go, I went beyond the lines. I'm going to grab your eraser
and erase overlapping. It's eraser. Lexis. Same here. I want to add more
texture to the ground here. Create one more layer
underneath of everything. Supporter, I will change
the blend mode to multiply. I'm going to do with this color. Kagan has great. Now what I want to draw, I will go and grab
both simple stamp. I'll create one
molar and nice of everything about our background
color mode to Multiply. I want to use a stamp. You can use free form. And I want to place
a stamp right here. That might be very interesting. Code. Now I want to make the
lines a little bit sharper. It'll go to adjustments
and press sharpen 100. Now grab selection tool,
move to rectangle, three fingers down and icons
this edge a little bit. Next step you see we have
some of our lessons. I want to grab selection
tool, grab freehand. Select, in fact, overlapping. Just move along the border line. After it selects
this upper part, three fingers down
and press gut. I like how it looks. Still nodes and I want
to add more texture. What I will do, I want to create one more
layer above grep foo grainy. Move to multiply,
increases size, Lexis. I want to add some
vintage style greens. It looks very cool. Immerse it together. Okay, guys, as you see if emerged together, our palm tree now I want to show you what else you might do. You go to lower layer, go to Adjustments, press hue,
saturation and brightness, and go to brightness still
like to black color to 100%. After sit grab selection tool. And you can move a little bit and creates a shade
from our palm tree, which looks amazingly, this is one of the options
that you might do. This is still not the end. If you want to come,
lovers are positive and in this way it would have
been not said pride. But still it will have
some kind of shade. I also likes to feelings
that it creates. Next I'll grab darker color, grab my monoline brush. We need to add some handwriting. We need to decide
where to write it. I think here would be perfect. If you want, you can
change the style. You can change the color, make it lighter or darker. I think if to make it dark, it would be better. Guys. You can call this
piece finished. I hope you enjoyed today's
tutorial and you'll learn more about painting in coercive
style and watercolor style. And you see a difference
between the paint. Once you can, as you see, it's a painted in
watercolor style, is more gentle, transparent, and gouache style is more opec. Well, our class
camps, does it end? I would like to know which
style you like more. Gouache or watercolor. And I wish you luck with
all your artworks and would be very happy to see
what you created. And let's see Jesse in
a new class. Bye bye. This is the end of our class. And now you know a
lot about palm trees. How to paint them? What are the parts
of palm trees? How to paint a picture in
gouache and watercolor style. How to add some vintage
wives to your illustration. I hope you enjoyed
my today's class. Guys in my new class, I'm gonna share with you how to paint Ukrainian traditional art, ornaments and Patrick Kyiv
cut style illustrations. I hope you will exam. Let's see, just in a
