1. Introduction: Hey, guys. My name is Dmitri, and in this class, I will share with you how to make cool face labs using Adobe Photoshop. This effect can be useful for many situations. Personally, I have used this trick to have fun and prank my friends. For example, getting everyone the same face in a group photo will make your friends laugh for sure. It's a cool future, and you will definitely have fun sweeping faces. Feel free to recommend this class with other people, and let's get started. 2. Photo Examples For Best Practice : Now let's talk about best photos to make this effect look natural so people won't even understand that face actually swapped. It works best on photos where there are multiple people already standing next to each other. So the light does the same effect on every face in the photo, which will help a lot with making it look natural. For the best effect, you also need people's heads being turned in the same direction. 3. The Easy Face Swap Technique: Let's start with the easy version of this technique. Here we have two photos of different man. We will need to zoom their faces closer. It can be done in two ways. The first one is to select Zoom to from Tool Menu. You can now left click to zoom in and if you want to zoom out, you need to select Zoom out option in upper menu of the tool. The second method is the most comfortable to work with, and it requires to use hot keys. To zoom in, you need to hold old bottom and scroll up to zoom in and scroll down to zoom out, holding that old bottom. If you're planning to work in Photoshop on different projects, this is the way to go. So now we need to select the face. To do that, we need a lesser tool. There are three variations of it. We need the first one because we don't need to be precise here. Now, let's select the pace that we will be copying. Again, you don't have to be accurate. You can always make corrections later if there will be a need. Once the phase is selected, press Control C to copy the phase, select second photo and press Control V to paste it. Now we have the pace to work with and we need to place it correctly so it matches. Press Control T, which allows to resize and replace selected layer. Ideally you want to match both faces so that eyes, nose, and lips are in the same place. To match them, you just need to bring opacity of selected face down to about 50%, so you can see both faces at the same time. After adjustments are done, you can just press Enter, bring the opacity back to 100%, and check how it looks. In my opinion, it already looks good. We just need to make some color adjustments. So at this moment, we have two layers and one of them is locked, which doesn't allow us to make any changes to it. You just simply double click on it, change the name of this layer if you want and press okay. It was done because we need the original phase to be deleted. After that, we need to select the new phase again. But this time we won't be using Lasso tool because there is a simple way to select it when there's nothing else you need in this layer. Simply hold Control and left click on the layer and it will automatically select everything that is in it. Now just follow steps I do. Press select, then modify and choose contract. It allows you to resize your selections by pixels. Amount of pixels are different. The higher the quality of the photo is, the bigger amount of pixels will be needed to contract from the photo. In my case, I chose four pixels. So now press Okay and you will see the difference. Now, we need to work with first layer, select it and high second layer so you can see the effect of the next step. Now press the lead button on your keyboard. So now there is no face on the first layer, which is needed to make a good merge those two photos. Now you can press Control D to D slight. There is one last step to do. Select both layers, hold Shift and click on both of the layers. Press edit Auto blend layers, and make sure everything is checkmarked and panorama is selected and press Okay. 4. The More Advanced Way: Auto blend function doesn't work 100% of the times, and for that, there's a bit more complicated way to swap faces. For this method, we will use the same two photos, and in next lesson, I will show one example where face web won't work properly and what kind of photos you should avoid. Let's begin by zooming in second photo. I will do it again step by step so there is a bigger chance that will stay in your mind. I hope you remember that for zooming in, it is much easier and faster to use Opus mouse scroll. So you need to select the face using lesser tool and like in the previous method, you don't have to be precise. And by the way, there's one more trick you can do if you don't like your selection and what to make some adjustments. By holding button, you can easily add some more to your selection. It is not needed, but just for you to learn new little tricks. After that, just press Control C to copy and pass it in the first photo pressing Control V. Quick reminder that to transform and resize the photo, you need to press Control plus T. Bring down opacity to 50% and try to match eyes, nose, and lips if it's possible. When you're done adjusting it, you need to select that face. I help your memo how to do that, but I will remind you that you just have to hold control and left click on the layer to select it. Now press image in upper left corner, hover your mouse on adjustments and click on Match Color. In Match Color menu, you have to choose SRs photo, so it analyzes all the colors in it. And if that photo has multiple layers, you will also need to choose the layer and press okay. In my case, it's a background layer. So now you can see the selected face adopted by grounds colors, and now it matches. Now, the only thing to do is to hide all the borders of the face so it looks natural. For that, you need to select eraser tool and set its hardness to 0% and just go around the face to make it look natural. In some cases, where there are clear sharp edges, you might need to use blur tool to soften it out. In other cases, the color adjustment will not give you the 100% match, and you will have to adjust it manually in the image section. In other cases, the color adjustment will not give you the hundred percent, and you have to match the colors manually. For that, you need to press image adjustments and color balance. There are a lot more things you can adjust manually in the image section. But in this case, there's no need for that. This way to sweat faces sometimes can be easier than the first one, but sometimes a lot more difficult. 5. Bad Example of Face Swapping: Previously, I mentioned that not all the photos are good for this effect, and I will show you the example of a bad face swap. There are three people in the photo looking in the same direction, which is good. But as you can see, woman's head is turned a bit to the side. Those two men fit all the criterias for a good faithful effect. They look in the same direction, their faces are turned in the same way and also the lightning does the same effect on their faces. We will start with them to practice a bit more and then I will show how the effect looks on the woman. I will not commentate this time, so if you feel that you can't catch up, just go back to previous lessons where I explain the process step by step. As you can see, it worked well on those two men. So now let's try to apply the same face on a woman. In this case, we need to flip the face horizontally to match them. But after that, it gives a mismatch on lightening. Now I will show you how the Auto blend function will try to handle this problem. This is how it looks when there are different light angles. So make sure to avoid photos where people's heads are not turned in the same direction. 6. Conclusion and Project Gallery: Now when you know how to swap faces, just go and try it yourself. I will leave a link to photos I have used in this class, so you can try it yourself step by step and also make sure to upload your results to the project gallery. I will be more than happy to see your results and also don't forget to share this class with your friends because there are so many cool tricks you can do in Photoshop. So let me know if you like this one and I will create more classes for you. Bye.
