1. Intro to the class: Hi everyone, welcome back to my Skillshare classes. I'm so happy to bring volume amazing classes this 2020. And stopping with this first-class which stays, makes me feel, feel is I know that we have so many different mediums like watercolors, gouache. And so many things began to be on fetus through life for exploring the thing we do in this class. And we'll share the same key off paving odd where you can use all these different Athenians Supplies Company in some things. But he felt that it's a button class, which we were just talking loud as I just said. Let's get started. And you can also watch my previous classes on Skillshare from the profile and my sp2 share about open point each losses for beginners in watercolors improve the mostly watercolors. So yes, you can watch them and you will love them. I'm so excited to see you inside this class. And let's create some beautiful mixed smooth ER, Florida's see you in class. Bye. 2. Materials required: For this class, you will be needing very basic supplies because it's a mixed media class. First would be a set of watercolor. It could be in pants like this or in the form of cubes. Any watercolor that you have with you should be fine. Next, you would need some watercolor pencils, even if you have just the normal colored pencil should be fine, doesn't have to be water soluble at all. Next two would be needing a set of oil pasta's. It could be non-water soluble. Even if you have a student or artists create oil paces that should be completely fine for the class. Then some metallic paint or metallic marker and some glitter, which will be needing to add the details and the final part of the painting. Next, you will be needing some acrylic paint to, it can be stored in create or artist grade a pig. Some really beautiful colors for today's painting. This opera rose from Vinson nutrient is one of my favorite color because it's so vibrant and I really loved that. You will also need masking tape to tape the edges of your paper. And additionally, you will need some tools for different mediums, like a watercolor brush for watercolors, palette knife for acrylics, and of ten detailing brush for acrylics or any other medium that you wish to use. If you want to make your painting even more interesting, you can use some concentrated Ng's and acrylic gouache and any other art supplies that you have, you can completely use this in this painting. And lastly, you will need a very nice thick watercolor paper. It can be from 300 GSM to 600 GSM. The one that I'm using is 600 GSM because it's very thick and hold all the layers that we will be adding an append. Apart from all these, you would need the essentials, of course, that is a jar filled with clear water and some paper towels to help you throughout the painting. That's it about the supplies. And you are ready to begin creating this beautiful artwork today with me and the class. 3. Step 1 - Watercolor base layer : Let's get started with the first step, which we'll be adding a watercolor background layer for which we will be painting some loose flowers. You can paint any kind of loose legos that you know, I'm just painting these simple five petaled flowers. And I'll tell you can choose the colors according to the colors. You have a conflict, so it will be easy to add accordingly. These flowers that you paint doesn't have to be perfect at all. It can be very loose and very abstract. You can observe how loosely I'm painting these flowers. And while you're painting these flowers, just keep in your mind not to paint a lot of flowers and cover the entire paper. Or the idea of just these flowers, just a few tiny flowers here and there should be fine some background space which will help us and adding more texture. After painting some flowers, you can add some blues leaves like this around the flowers. I also just paint a few of these leaves and not cover the entire area. These green leaves. Once you're done, just let it dry for a few minutes and then we'll move on to the next step. 4. Step 2 - Adding texture : Now a second step would be adding some texture for which I've just picked up an oil-based crayon and just doodling around the flag was like this. While you're doing this, just keep in mind that you don't make an outline. All the flowers, just keep it very simple and loose. And you can see how I'm just making an outline around the leaves which is very abstract and not doing perfect. Also, very important to have fun while you're doing this because you're just creating something very abstract and just letting it blues and playing with different textures and colors. Next we'll add a layer of blue watercolor to bring in some contrast and also differentiate between the flowers that we have painted. This bright blue color is just perfect in these floods and goes really well with the colors that were already used for flavus. You can notice that how adding these loose blue brushstrokes is making a difference already in our painting. Next, we'll add the actual with a click and pallet knife on the flowers. I'm using this beautiful, a better ping from Vincent Newton. And you can see that I'm just loosely adding texture or the flavus. Make sure that you don't cover the entire flower. Vertex should just leave some gaps you are in. The background layer is also seen. And you can also lose some marks like this with the palette knife just randomly. You can repeat the same for the other flowers like the yellow and the peach flowers and just create some beautiful texture on the flowers. If you have extra paint left on your palette knife, you can just make texture in the background like this. And the next lesson we'll be adding more of picture in the background. 5. Step 3 - Add more texture to background : The next step would be to begin adding texture to the background. First route start by adding some green color texture. For the acrylics on the violin, I'm adding this green color. You can see that how beautifully the below layers are shown like you can see the watercolor layer, the layer that we have added and this all put together makes it look really interesting and I really love how it is turning out to be. Next. I'll pick some cobalt teal color and just adding in the background and the spaces and trying to balance the color. Painting. I really love how bright and beautiful list is blue and it makes the painting look even more beautiful. After adding the texture and the background next, I'm just picking some nice peach pace to color in watercolor. Randomly tried to cover the whitespaces like this, which is in the background. In some places you can also just pick some water and then tries smudging the blue followed that we already painted. So that will give a really nice background effect for our painting. Additionally, you can also pick some yellow and pink color and try to add in some spaces in between the flowers. And by doing this, you would have a balance in colors and the textures really give a very nice effect. We're almost there. I hope you must be loving all the beautiful texture that's there on your painting. The next lesson, you will learn how to detail mode. 6. Step 4 - Add details : The next step is to add some details for which I picked up or colored pencil. You can either use a water-soluble colored pencil or just a normal color pencil. That should be fine. I'm just drawing actually do link in gaps. Just unbelief and trying to make it look more expressive. You can see how I'm just rolling my pencil and twisting it and trying to make some abstract marks which is going to look really interesting in the end. The impressions that you make with this color pencils shouldn't be perfect at all. It can just be ready random, and just play around wherever you feel like because it's an abstract art and you can definitely explore and play around. It can see how I'm just roughly very loose sneezes dueling a leaf. You can absorb that how these little details are making a lot of difference in the painting already. Next, to add some more texture to the background, I'm using this beautiful blue, which is powder blue from Winsor and Newton paints and just giving some abstract marks with the palette knife on the painting. To balance the bright pink color that you have added in the center, you can add the background to make the painting look even more vibrant and to add some final brush trucks. Just going to add some ultramarine blue and watercolor. And just create these random strokes like this in between the flowers and also some in the background. You can see how much of difference this bright blue is making into the painting. I'm adding some more of the cowboy and the A-beta pink just to balance the color and the texture and the painting. This is completely optional if you already have your painting looks. 7. Step 5 - Add glitter : Here comes to final stamp. This will make your painting look even more magical, adding some kilometers and Shama, I'm just using this powder and just adding on the red parts. And it'll automatically stick because the acrylic paint is still wet and the center and some parts in case of your paints have dried up, you can just put some glue with a paintbrush and then add this glitters so it gets stuck to the painting. After I did, you can gently spread the little video fingers. I think some details but the metallic marker or paint is optional. You can totally skip this if you don't have these pens, but if you do have some metallic paints and nice gold or silver, you can just make these beautiful marks randomly in the painting. Look even more interesting. Your painting. I'm very sure that you must be very happy with how your painting and stoned out and all the beautiful texture that you've been able to achieve with this mixed media style. 8. Step 6 and Conclusion : It's always very interesting to peel off the tape after you're done with the painting. Because I really love the feel of those clean white edges. I hope you enjoyed this video and find the satisfying to watch. Removing the tape. Just be very careful that you don't beloved the paper. You can just dust off the excess powder. We have a very beautiful mixed media artwork. I really hope you enjoyed this class and if you did, please share your class projects with me on Instagram, and I would really love to see them.
