1. Introduction to the course: All our EBM Minos. Hello, and welcome to Essential Spanish grammar, the future tense. The essential Spanish grammar series is a series of courses that teach pure grammar in its simplest way. I tackle one grammar point in each course and focus on the essentials and nothing else. In this simple grammar guide, you will learn all about the future tense in Spanish. I've stripped the tenths down into its essentials. So you don't need any prerequisites in order to benefit from this course. All the verbs we use are explained throughout. You can simply focus on learning the grammar. We're going to be looking at what the future tense is and how to form it in Spanish will also have a look at how to turn this tense negative. And we'll learn some common irregular verbs in this tense. You'll have plenty of opportunity to practice what you've learned with lots of exercises for you to do. So let's begin. 2. What is the future tense?: I will. What is the future tense? Future tense in English is basically the word will. Once you put the word will in front of any verb, you get the future tense. For example, I will eat, You will go, they will leave. He will buy, she will stay. Those were all examples of the future tense in English. The future tense in Spanish, however, is a little different, mainly because the word will doesn't exist. As I said, the future tense in English is formed by putting the word will in front of any verb. But I also said that the word will doesn't exist in Spanish. Well, in Spanish, the future tense is formed by adding some letters to the end of the verb. To begin with its importance, know what a verb is. In English, the verb is anywhere you can put two in front of, to eat, to drink, to speak. Stay too, right? They're all examples of verbs. And you can replace the two with Iwill and you get the future tense. To eat becomes I will eat in the future. To drink. I will drink, to speak, I will speak to stay. I will stay. To write. I will write. In Spanish. Verbs can end in either the letters AR, ER, or IR. Here are some examples of verbs in Spanish. Hablar. Hablar means to speak. Communists are comments are means to start. Yoga. Yoga means to arrive. They're all examples of verbs that end in the letters AIR in Spanish. Cmv. Cmv means to eat. Ben. Ben there means to sell. Bear. The bear means to drink. And there are three examples of E-R verbs in Spanish. La here. Lf here means to choose abacavir. Abacavir means to open and scribble. Scribble means to write. And there are three examples of ir verbs in Spanish. So verbs in Spanish and in the letters AR, ER or IR. 3. Spanish Future 1bWhat is the future tense? - Some example verbs: In Spanish, you can say, I will by putting the letter E with an accent on it on the end of any verb. For example, the webcam air, spout, COM, ER, means to eat. And if you put an E with an accent on the end, you get gamma ray command. And this means I will eat. And the accent on the end means you stress that part of the word. So you stress the last letter, come array. I will eat. And this works for any verb in Spanish. Means to speak are Bluray means I will speak. Abril means to open up, re, re, re, re, means I will open Mandela. Ben, there means to sell. Bender a Mendeley means I will sell. So here are five verbs in Spanish that I want you to see if you can change so that you're saying I will with each one. So hablar means to speak. Comments are means to start. Megara means to arrive. Compare means to eat, and Bandera means to sell. So acidic and conjugate these five verbs to change them into the future tense. Pause the video, write them down, and then press play to see if you got them right. So Aguilar means to speak are Bluray. Are Bluray means I will speak. Comments are means to start comments. Comments are re means I will start gagging. Jagadish means to arrive. Yeah, Gary. Yeah, Gary means I will arrive. Compare means to eat. Qalmri means I will eat, and Bender means to sell main array. Then the array means I will sell. Here are five more verbs. Bare. Bare. Bare means to drink. Ella here. La here, means to choose. Our RER, have real means to open a scribble. Scribble means to right, and yamaha. Yamaha means to call. So pause the video, have a go at putting those five verbs into the future tense and then press play to see if you got them right. By their means to drink. Babele Barea means I will drink. Ella here, means to choose electrode array. Array means I will choose a real means to open up re, re, re means I will open S, mere means to write. A scribbly means I will write Yamaha means to call. And Yamaha Ym array means I will call. So if you want to say, I will do something in Spanish, or you have to do is take the verb and put the letter E with an accent on the end. 4. What is the future tense? - You have a go: The verb means to listen. So how would you say in Spanish, I will listen. A SKU tare. The verb IUD. Iud means to help. So how would you say in Spanish, I will help? I knew that. I knew that a Ghana. Ghana means to win. So how would you say I will win? And then RA, RA means to work. So how would you say in Spanish, I will work through Tamar. Tamar means to take. So how would you say in Spanish, I will take tomorrow? Tomorrow? The verb means to stay. So how would you say in Spanish, I will stay. Kalahari. The verb means to see. So how would you say I will see the web? Baalbek. Baalbek means to return. So how would you say in Spanish, I will return bolder. Bolder a, BB. Bb means to live. So how would you say in Spanish, I will live. And the verb means to go. So how would you say in Spanish, I will go. 5. "You will" - The full conjugation list: You will we know how to say I will in Spanish. But what about if you want to say you will or he will, or she will? Well, for Iwill, you put an E with an accent after the verb. But if you want to say you will, you have to add different lessons to the end of the verb. For you? Will, you add a S with an accent on the a? So if the verb to speak is hablar, for example, you would say abline for you will speak. Let's have a look at the endings for all the different persons. If you want to say I will, in Spanish, you add an e with an accent. You add AS with an accent on the a for you, will. You add an a with an accent for Honeywell? An a with an accent for she will. And an a with an accent for you. Will. You add EM OS or MOs 4? We will. You put E I, S with an accent on the E, on the end of the verb for you will. You put a n with an accent on the a for they will. And you can also put a n with an accent on the a, you will. And you might have noticed that I've put a few words with brackets at the start of some of the endings. The reason is because if you look at he will, she will, and you will. The ending is the same for all of them. It's an a with an accent. The words in brackets at the start or optional, but you can use them to clarify which person you're referring to. So L means he means she, and Ustinov means you. Similarly, if you look at the well and you will, the endings are AN, with an accent on the a for both of them. But you caught up the words, a loss, which means they and who status, which means you to make it clear as to whom you're speaking about. For example, the verb means to eat. And if you put an a with an accent on the end, you get Camila. Camila. Now Camara could mean he will eat. She will eat or you will eat. So you can add the optional words for clarity. L camera. L camera means he will eat a a camera. A camera means she will eat Hofstede camera. Instead, camera means you will eat. 6. Different ways to say "you": We've just seen all the endings for the future tense in Spanish. And you can put those endings on the end of any verbs to make the future tenants. Let's have a look at an example verb conjugated into the future tense. The verb hablar means to speak. So we get Abdullah. Abdullah R3, which means I will speak up Glarus. Clara's. You will speak up lara. Or he will speak up Lara. Or are bara means she will speak up Lara. Oh, stead of Lara. You will speak about Ramos. Ramos. We will speak about IRAs. Iras. You will speak or a ofs Avalon. They will speak Avalon. Avalon. You will speak. The words Air. Asia, who stayed. A IOS and GU status are called subject pronouns. The other person's do have subject pronouns too, but they hardly ever use in Spanish. However, I'll show you what they are just in case you ever see them. The word your means, I say, you can say your Bluray. Two means you say, you can say to our lattice. L means he, El, Clara, he will speak. Ada means she, AR she will speak. Hofstede means you are Lara. You will speak. Nosotros means we. So nosotros estamos means we will speak. Most otros means you. Mosasaurus. Hablar ase, means you will speak. As means. They say ARs are around, means they will speak. And GU status means you. So ooh, status are barren means you will speak. All those words are optional, however, they can be used if you just need to clarify who you're speaking about. Now, you might have noticed that there are four different ways to say you in Spanish. We've had to Ustinov most uterus and GU status to versus most otros. 2 and vosotros are both considered informal ways to say you, you can use them when you're talking to people you know well to is the singular version. So you'll use it if you're talking to one person you know well, vosotros is the plural version. So you'll use it if you're talking to more than one person, you know, well, homestead versus WHO status. Homestead and GU status are both considered formal ways to say you. You can use them when you're talking to people you want to be extra polite to. Homestead is the singular version. So you'll use it if you're talking to one person who steadies is the plural version. So you'll use it if you're talking to more than one person and you don't know them too well. 7. "You will" - You have a go: The verb layer means to read. And say IRR means to close. So how would you say in Spanish, they will close? 10. How to form negatives: Negatives. In English, you can turn any future tense phrase negative, either by saying will not instead of will. Or you can just say went in Spanish, or you have to do to turn a future tense phrase negative is put the word no. And in front of the verb. For example, are Bluray. Are Bluray means I will speak. No way. No way means I went speak. So here are five future tense verbs. Re. Re means I will eat. L, You gotta. You gotta means he will arrive. Iran. Iran means they will go LFP ramus. Ramus means we will choose. And aka virus, aka Berra's, means, you will finish. So pause the video, see if you can turn these five verbs negative, and then press played civically, right? So QALMRI means I will eat no commodity. Nakamura means I won't eat. L. Megara means he will arrive. L naught. L Niigata means he went arrive. Iran means they will go. No, iran know. Iran means they won't go. Lfp Ramos, Elohim demos means we will choose know LFA Ramos. Know Elohim demos means we won't use a Kara's means you will finish and not a Kara's means you won't finish. So let's have a practice with putting future tense verbs in the negative. The verb S greedier means to right. So how would you say in Spanish, I won't write not a scribbly. Scribbly. Severe. Severe means to follow. How would you say in Spanish, she won't follow? The verb means to travel. So how would you say in Spanish they won't travel? No, via HAR1. Not be the verb. Means to wait. So how would you say I won't wait? No. No. 11. Negatives - Practice: The verb means to eat. So how would you say in Spanish, you won't need to know cameras. Nakamura, who stayed is no comma. Here means to choose. So how would you say in Spanish, they won't choose? No. No means to take. So how would you say in Spanish, we won't take not Palmer Ramos, not tomorrow, Amos. The verb means to sleep. So how would you say in Spanish, you went to sleep? Two. Photos. Dormi raise. Know dormi ran the web app render means to learn. So how would you say in Spanish, we won't learn? No, Append. Append ramus. The verb means to go. So how would you say in Spanish, he won't go? No, II era, era. So to make the theory tends negative in Spanish. Or you have to do is put the word no in front of the verb. And if you have one of the subject pronouns like L in this example, meaning he goes after that. 12. Irregular verbs: Irregulars. The final part of this course on the future tense is irregular verbs. Now in English, they own 10 irregular verbs in the future tense, but there are quite a few in Spanish. Irregular verbs are verbs that don't follow the rules. Normally. You can just take the normal verb and add the future tense ending to that. But with irregular verbs, you have to change the web slightly before you add the ending on. For example, the verb means to do. However, if you want to form the future tense with this verb, you can't add the ending to assail. Instead, you have to change the verb to hate a and add the ending to that. So you end up with array. Array. And array means I will do. We're going to look at eight irregular verbs. I'm going to give you the eight verbs, and then I'll give you what's known as the future stem. The future stem is the thing that you add the future tense endings to on irregular verbs, just like the hedge AIR was the feature stem for us. So the first irregular verb is 10, air. Then air means to have, and the future stem is TEN. For example, 10 Dre. Dre means I will have. The next verb is many. Many means to come. The future tense stem of veneer is VN. For example, Ben. Ben re means I will come. Sally. Sally mere means to go out or to leave. And the future tense stem is SAL, D. Cell Dre. Dre means I will leave, y will go out. On air. Means to put the future stem of air is P O, D. For example, andre. Andre means I will put. So as you can see with these four verbs, all we've done actually is change the vowel in front of the R to the letter D. So 10 air becomes 10 degree. Bend Dre Salia cell Dre, andre. The next few verbs are a little bit more irregular. Means to do automatic. And we've already seen the future stem of this verb. It shortens to H, a R. For example, RA. Ra means I will do or I will make. The messier. And messier means to say or to tell. The future stem of the sphere is DIR. For example, DRA. Dra. And that means I will say, or I will tell for their, for their means to be able to pour there. And the future stem of pore there is POD. Say for example, we have portray, portray, which means I will be able to. Finally subarray. Subarray means to know. And the future stem of subarray is essay BR. For example, sub-array. Sub-array means, I will know. 13. Irregular verbs - You have a go: So we've just seen eight irregular verbs. 10 air, meaning to have becomes 10 ray in the future. By linear meaning to come becomes Ben Ray. Sally, or meaning to go out or to leave, becomes cell Dre. Panera, meaning to port, becomes Andre. Meaning to do automatic becomes the c, meaning to say or to tell, becomes DRA. For their meaning to be able to becomes Padre. And severe, meaning to know becomes sub-array. So you can take any of the future stems and port any of the future endings on them. For example, Padre. Padre means I will be able to ten demos. Then Ramos, we will have Ben Ross. Ben brass means you will come l know L, Nora, he won't do sovereign. Sovereign. They will have. So how would you say in Spanish, I will have Ten. Ten DRE. The verb means to come. So how would you say in Spanish, un come to know Bandura's most otros not bend rays status. The website year means to leave. So how would you say he won't leave? No. Sandra means to put so how would you say she will put? Panera means to do so. How would you say in Spanish, we will do ramus. Ramus means to say, so how would you say in Spanish? They won't say no, Duran. Duran. 14. Irregular verbs - More practice: The verb means to be able to. So how would you say is financial? She will be able to Bottura a appoggiatura subarray means to know how would you say they won't No. No sovereign sovereign power there means to be able to, How would you say I will be able to pottery? Pottery. They see a means to tell. So how would you say in Spanish, you won't tell? To know the RAS. Nadira. Vosotros, not erase. No, Duran. Benny means to come. How would you say We will come? Ben ramus. Ramus means to port. How would you say he will put tundra? Tundra means to know. So how would you say they will know the sovereign? Sovereign. Then air means to have. So how would you say I won't have Dre Andre means to leave. So how would you say you won't leave? To know Sandra's? No, Sandra Sullivan means to put how would you say I won't put? No, Andre know pondering means to leave. So how would you say we will leave? South Ramos. Sounds Ramos. Benny means to come. How would you say he won't come? Not Bindra. Know Bindra means to have. So how would you say she won't have? Not NRA. Not NRA means to make. So how would you say in Spanish, you will make two arrays. 15. Recap: Recap. The future tense in English is formed by putting the word will in front of the verb. In Spanish, the future tense is formed by adding some extra letters to the end of the verb. For Iwill, you add e with an accent. For you will, in the singular informal, you add AS with an accent over the a. For he will. You add a with an accent? And you can add the subject pronoun L to clarify. She will. You add a with an accent, and you can use the subject pronoun. You will, in the singular formal, you add a with an accent, and you can use the subject pronoun Ustinov. For we will. You add e, m, OS. For you will, in the plural, informal, you add E, S with an accent on the E. For VA will you add a n with an accent on the a, and you can use the subject pronoun a loss. For you will. In the plural formal, you add a n with an accent on the a, and you can use the subject pronoun status. Then we looked at eight irregular verbs. And for these verbs, you have to use the future stem to add the endings to rather than the verb itself. So 10 air means to have, and the future stem is TEN. Dr. veneer means to come, and the future stem is VN. Dr. sally means to go out or to leave. The future stem is SAL, DR. Bon air means to port. And the future stem is P O, D. As a means to do automatic. And the future stem is a deci, year means to say or to tell. And the future stem is DIR. For their means to be able to. And the future stem is P, O, D R sub L means to know. And the feature stem is SABR. And that's the future tense in Spanish. Gracias.
