1. The Class Trailer: When I was young, I didn't really know what I was gonna do when I got older. People kept asking me. And but then eventually I thought that the idea of inventing things would be, would be really cool. And the reason I thought that was because I read a quote from Odyssey clock which said that a sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. I think it actually goes beyond that because there are many things that we take for granted today that weren't even imagined it in time. They weren't even in the realm of magic. So that it actually goes, it goes beyond that. If we can advance the knowledge of the world, that we can do things that expand the scope and scale of consciousness, then we're better able to ask the right questions and become more enlightened. And that's really the only way forward. Everybody has the same amount of hours in a day, just 24. So how comes to there are people who accomplish so much more in these 24 h than others. Elon Musk has the same amount of hours and minutes in his day. Have you had how many of those same minutes have you faced it today and yesterday? How many of those minutes are you wasting on dumps stuff every day. My name is Alex, I'm a peak performance coach. I work with successful entrepreneurs like 100 million dollar business owners, hedge fund founders, top athletes. And I love to produce videos that move people to action. The systems you'll learn in this masterclass are the same systems I teach my high-paying coaching clients. And time is your most valuable resource. So let's get right into it. 2. The Productivity Trap - Don't Skip!: But before we can start implementing your three new time management habits, we need to get rid of your inner resistance. Because let's face it, you have a bunch of to-do lists and posted flying around. And you think you enjoyed the freedom of a calendar that leave some room for breathing. But let's have a closer look. This is how average people manage their days. Let's have a look at an example. This is Paul. Paul has read and bestselling self-help book and is ready for change. But not only that, she has defined daily goals. And let's have a look at his three goals for tomorrow. He wants to meditate in the morning after waking up. Number two, he wants to focus on an important client projects. And then the evening he wants to go for a run. But then life gets in the way because Paul had a tough birthday and getting home, he needs something to online. So he starts watching an episode on Netflix. And because the episode was full of exciting turns, he continued watching one or two episodes and pet. Therefore in the morning he had some trouble getting out of bed early for his meditation. And instead of the plan meditation, he had to use his social media feed, wake him up. During his commute. She recalls his plan to spend his time today on the important client project. So he sits down at his desk, but he doesn't really feel alert and he realizes that he needs some coffee first, and of course, it will only take a second. In the kitchen, he meets Andrew who asks him about different ads and they end up drinking the coffee together, which will only take a second. And 50 min later, Paul VI is much more awake and sits down at his workspace to get some work done. And that's when he realizes that has inboxes overflowing with your email and he decides to reply the most urgent ones first. It will only take a second. And after some concentrated work in his inbox, a little thing from his phone, notification pops up. He unlocks the screen just to realize that there are a bunch of little red icons and pause, curious and quickly scans the apps. Will only take a second. And while he's replying to some messages and switching between apps, he forgets a time until there is another notification as reminds him of the meeting starting right now. So he joins the meeting and decides to address those other emails and messages later. But after the meeting, he decides to ignore those messages and do some actual work. So he finally opens his laptop to get some broken. He opens a new browser tab and somehow magically ends up on Facebook. It will only take a second. And after 40 min, he realizes that he has went on Facebook feed rabbit hole, and it's right now looking at some photos of a France friends. And so he closes the browser tab to finally get to the client project. But wait, she's hungry. Thankfully, it's lunchtime, what to eat. And so he talks to his colleagues and they end up discussing lunch options and researching a new place nearby. Until they leave the building to get some food. After lunch, he sits down and as keen on starting with the project work, he wants to take action. He opens a new tab and base for the project data to load and vibrating. He thinks about those Newman wireless headphones. And since the client project keeps loading, he opens another tab and Google's to new gadget is thinking about. It will only take a second. And so he spends the next 30 min researching it and ends up watching review videos. But with the new noise canceling feature, a day should make him so much more productive. He reminds himself of the important client projects. But first there is a notification and she has to answer some urgent emails he has received from his team lead. In the meantime, this will only take a second, but it takes longer because people have replied to his answers from the morning and he should reply back to keep things rolling. And after spending 40 min clearing us inbox Paul views to satisfy it about having basal hours for all of this stuff. So he ends up on YouTube watching motivational videos and some inspirational TED Talks to get his mindset ready for some real-world. It will only take a second. The entire afternoon. Goals like this, answering urgent emails, Googling stuff, checking Facebook, likeCount Paul would work on his commute back home. He realizes that he has spent his entire day busy with basically unimportant stuff, not doing the actual work to client project. Maybe tomorrow. At home, he has a look at his daily goals and realizes he has executed none. Well, he still could go for a run, but he doesn't really feel like going for a run now right after his workday. So first you need something to unwind. So he continues watching a series on Netflix. After an episode or two, he will go for a run. But then life happens. Paul gets distracted too easily. He gets distracted by external triggers like notifications. And by his own internal triggers like a thought to Google something or quickly check something. And the truth is if you don't set things up correctly, we all get distracted too easily. It's not enough to set some to-dos. You'll need to set up your mindset and habits for execution and set a time for those to-dos. Let's check his calendar. As you can see, Paul has only a few appointments in his calendar. Duress does open space, and he thinks he should have enough time in the day to get his three tasks done to get everything done. But that's not really true. And pulse day feels like arrays. He's trying to get a lot of stuff done, but he's distracted very easily because his day has no real structure. So other questions like, should you reply to Argentina's now, should he accept the meeting? Now, what about this totally interesting video? We can't really say, since the space in his calendar is empty. And then the end poles accomplishing only few of his priorities Labor Day. And overall, he has a feeling that he is lazy and to others accomplish so much more. Do you still think an empty calendar has anything to do with freedom? Actually, it's the opposite. Without the right time management habits, you are a slave of your bad habits. And you will end up going to bed disappointed, feeling unproductive and unfulfilled. So now you know how average people manage their days. But you are not in this program because you want to stay where you are. You are here because you want to bring your life to the next level. You are here because you want to build something. Some of you want to build a career. Some of you want to build a side hustle, and some of you want to build a huge business. And all of those things require massive amounts of concentration, dedication, and excellent time management. Routine has something to do with it and habits. Because excellence is a habit. 3. Habit #1 - How Planning Works: As Aristotle said, We are what we repeatedly do. So let me introduce you to your new habits for time management. Habit number one is plan your day in advance. So via these people, so productive and y as Elon Musk, so productive, how can this man revolutionized transportation both on Earth and in space? You are struggling to clean up your car. If you even have one. If you listen carefully to what the most successful people that we know say about time management. You will realize that they all talk about minutes. If they manage their time, they don't talk about days. They don't talk about hours. They talk about minutes. They think in minutes. And from the second they get out of bed, their day has already been preplanned in advance. Elon Musk, e.g. plants as day out in five minute increments. Here's what Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of ikea, said. You can do so much in 10 min time. 10 min once Gan are gone for good, divide your life and to 10 min units and sacrifice as few of them as possible in meaningless activity. So time management habit number one is, from now on you will plan your day in advance and you will break your day up into small segments. This habit alone, the kick-start, your productivity. 4. Habit #2 - Never Use a To Do List: Habit number two. Never use a to-do list. Do you think Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Mark Zuckerberg, are running around with a to-do list, crossing things off and prioritizing items with a, B, and C? No. According to a study, 41% of to-do list items are never completed. And another problem with to-do lists is that we actually only write down things that are urgent. And if there are tasks that are important but not urgent, they will remain unfinished forever. Stop using a to-do list. This is no joke. If you would ask self-made millionaires are self-made billionaires for some tips regarding their to-do list, they would laugh at you. You will not find one highly successful man, but a to-do list or to-do app comes down to a simple decision for you. If you want average results user to do this. If you want extraordinary results, stop using a to-do list. Because to-do list is to number one bad habit for your productivity. And you will get rid of this bad habit as of today. 5. Habit #3 - The Ultimate Calendar: Habit number three, live your life from your calendar. Question. Severe is Elon Musk putting his todos if he is not using the to-do list? Well, he puts them into his calendar. And this is what all high-performance man do. They work from a calendar? All of them. So if you really want to get something done, pick a day and the duration, set the location of needed, and then just follow your calendar. But actually there's a bit more to it. It's not about filling up your David all tasks that come to your mind because there's simply not enough time. Dave predentin. It's about looking at your goals and intentionally scripting your days so it supports your goals. And again, it depends on what you want out of life. If you want to stay where you are, just keep on using your to-do list. But if you want to escape the nine to five job, if you want to build a side business. If you want to build a successful business, if you want to expand your existing business, then your calendar better becomes your Holy Grail from now on. And this was the knowledge part. You know, this is fair self-help, books, podcasts, videos, and other courses stopped. This is where we start. Now, we will install this knowledge in your life. 6. Action #1 Calendar Setup: So let me introduce you to your action items. You can also find the right under this video. Action item number one is set up your calendar. That makes sense to use a digital calendar, especially for collaborative reasons. And from now on your calendar will replace your to-do lists and post it. If you have a new to-do, pull out your phone and put the new to-do in your calendar. And average people have multiple calendars on several devices which are not sinking up correctly. And so they constantly lose stuff and miss appointments. Because the calendar is the number one success. Two, you will invest some time in setting everything up and make sure that you have the same calendar synchronized on every device. And there are a lot of calendar apps out there that are slow and buggy and sinking. And you want to avoid that. Pick one of two major providers. If you want a recommendation. I use the Google Calendar on all my devices. 7. Action #2 Eliminate To Do Lists: Action item number two is eliminate your to-do list. So now that your calendar is ready, go through all your to-do lists and post-its and whatever crazy formula to do systems who came up with until this point. Go through them and delete every to-do on those lists that are urgent, but not important. If you come across it to do that is urgent and important. Put it in your calendar, pick a date and a duration. If you come across something that is important but not urgent, put it in your calendar as valid. And touch things only once. If the task takes only 5 min to complete it, it doesn't go into your calendar. Do it right now, or decided not to do it. Now there is an exception to this rule. There are things to do not go on your calendar right away. So if you have a bigger project and you break it down into steps, then you can do this in a project management tool or in a document. But once you start executing on project, you put those tasks into your calendar. Not on the to-do list. 8. Action #3 Time-Box Tomorrow: And action item number three is plan your next day in advance. For this, you will use the print out, the stoic day planner, printed out seven times. If you don't have a printer around and draw its elements on piece of paper. From now on, here's what you will do every evening. Every evening, you will plan tomorrow in advance. And you will do this yourself until the point comes where you hire a personal assistant. And to get this essential time-management habit installed in your life. Here's what we will do. So let's have a closer look at how you will plan the next day. The basic rule is, if something is not on your day planner, then it's not going to happen. So put everything in there that is important to you. Meet up with friends, date with your wife, quality time with your kids. Those things will not happen if you don't put them into your day planner. And here's what you will do every evening, step-by-step. Step number one, check your calendar and schedule any appointments from your calendar on your day planner. Step number two is determined and schedule your priorities in this tab is the reason my day planner is stoic. Because every day you will ask herself three powerful stoic questions and make time for them on the next day. First, identifying the most important task and schedule it in if you can put it right in the morning. Because if you get your most important tasks done right in the morning, That's a huge win, and you will feel like a winner for the rest of the day. Now, this most important task depends on your current situation and goals. So what is the one thing tomorrow that is going to tan x your business in the future. Or what is the project that will get you the promotion or gets you the bonus? The question is, what domino can you tip onto moral? That's going to lean on the next one on the day after it. And schedule a minimum of 2 h for this and make your environments distraction free before you start. And average people start work with checking email and jumping on compensations, working on someone else's most important tasks. In the next block, you will answer the following question. I would die at the end of this day. What would I do and say and think? This is a famous stoic question. And the idea is to make meaningful things a priority. E.g. even if it does not seem urgent to take time in your day for the persons that you love. It's important. So you will think about this question every evening. And the next block contains the question, what have I been avoiding? And you will write everything here that makes you feel uncomfortable because you have been avoiding it in the past and schedule it and at least the next step every day until it's done. And step number three is to bring some structure into your day. Just starts with a morning routine. Because the number to productivity tip of highly successful people right after this whole calendar thing is what they do in the first hour of their day, their morning routine. Because if you start your day with Vince, this will have a very positive effect on your entire day. It's not about getting work done here, it's about setting up your mind and body for the day. And the next block is e-mail, scheduled email and messages in your day. Highly successful people do not check their inbox if they feel the urge. And they also don't have pushed notifications for sure. They do inmate on schedule. So they don't just go to the inbox to waste time there. So decide how often you need to check your messages. So if you're a stockbroker and need to instantly check your e-mails or whatever scheduled email every 15 min. If you're in a corporate job, I would advise you to schedule it once a day. And if you are an entrepreneur and you're focus is on building something big, I recommend checking e-mails once a week. And the next block is collaboration time. Meetings should be a last resort because they cost so much time. Say no to meetings much more often. And Richard Branson says on this topic, there's few meetings that need to last more than five or 10 min. So the golden rule is, don't do meetings. And if you have to keep meetings very short. The next block is quite obvious. Planning tomorrow to date, scheduled time for planning the next day, every day. And in the beginning, I was scheduled 30 min for this. So at the end of your workday, you should plan the next day. And of course, you need to schedule the planning itself every day. And this way you start every day with a plan on how to invest your time. And the last block is for the evening, scheduling some time to connect with others and to wind down after work. To conclude this, here are some general tips. Say no to everything that doesn't support your immediate goals. Do you think that your mask has any stuff in his calendar and daily schedule that does not support his immediate goals? No. He is so productive because he defenses calendar from everything else. Every time you say yes to something like a meeting, you're saying no to something that is important for your goals. 9. Why Do You Want to Do This?: And always remember we are doing this. Because time is the most important asset you have. Once it's gone, it's gone. And every minute of this day so far is gone. You will never get it back. And Seneca says, live if well, live is long enough. That's why from now on, you will invest your time like a billionaire. Because now you know how billionaires and the most successful people manage their time. And and that is really the only way forward. And hopefully there are some lessons to be drawn there. I think that the overarching point I want to make is that we're the magicians of the 21st century. Don't like anything. Hold you back. Imagination is the limit. And go out there and create some magic.
