1. How to achieve, set and execute goals effortlessly: Class Intro: Few years back,
when someone asked me what my goal was,
I was just blank. And during those years, I always had a mindset that all this goal setting
stuff is purely whimsical, is purely meant for someone who is intellectual of a
very high capacity. And as far as my
life is concerned, I feel I'm an average person. I thought I won't be able to set my goal, let
alone achieve it. For me, goal setting was always
good to see and learn and self help books rather than really applying it in real life. But the last nine months has changed the
way I think about, goal setting and goal execution. The reason why I'm
saying that is because I have applied
the concepts that I'm going to share
with you inside this class during
those nine months, and I have been fortunate
to achieve those goals. In this class, I'm going
to share with you in simple ways how you need to set a goal that
you can achieve. I'll share with you
what motivators and landmark rewards you need to keep and how you can break your landmarks into
a task landmark, into an inflow landmark, into a wish landmark to
achieve your big goal. Of course, one thing is
planning to have a goal, other thing is to actually achieve your goal
and as in real life, not all that happens
goes to plan. I'll also be sharing my individual timeline of what I planned for
and in reality, how it panned out and how
long it took me to achieve it because there were
periods of lull when I felt deprived
of motivation. There was periods when my
business was not doing well. There were periods when I
had to take off from work. Accounting all these things
that brings you down, how still your goal
can help you move in right direction is what I
learned from these nine months. In fact, there's a
specific lesson that I have dedicated for sharing
important pointers, seven of them, for making
your goal execution journey. Very, very easy. This class is best suited
for solo entrepreneurs, small business owners,
content creators, and individuals who are struggling to make
their life organized, who want to be more productive
and who are looking for ways to set realistic goals
so that they can achieve it. This class would work best if you are planning
to set a goal with a timeline of your next
six to 12 months from now. Also, I have got a class project for you that will
help you keep track of where you want to eventually go with respect to your goals. So I have everything, every single thing mapped
and charted for you. To tell a little about myself, my name is NatashGuani. I'm a professional face reader, and I love designing videos on face reading, on self help. And this class where
I have shared about simplifying your goals covers a significant portion of how I evolved in
making videos for my YouTube channel as part of this goal setting strategy that I'm going to
share with you. So there are huge things packed for you
inside this class. If you're serious about
achieving your goals, I would love to
play a small role, a tiny role in this journey of your through this
particular class. So let's deep dive into the first lesson of this
class where I'll share with you insights for
better goal setting and how you can
define your goal.
2. Defining your Goal: First of all, a big thank you for getting inside this class. I'm very, very happy for you. In this lesson, I'm going to
share with you how you can define your goal for the
next six to 12 months. The reason why I'm keeping that timeline is because having a measured timeline helps set smarter and more
realistic goals. Another reason is that I have lived this class for
the last nine months, and so I feel it will work
best in the short term. So coming to a question,
what needs to be your goal, your goal should be something that has some meaning into it, that you feel connected to where your heart is and it
should be something that you have maximum
individual control on with a specific timeline. For example, as a face reader, my goal at the start
of the year 2024 was to spread knowledge
of face reading through designing videos on YouTube
and also delivering face reading services to my clients every month for the
first six months. Of course, the six month isn't the only time I will be
restricting myself too, but these goals will evolve once I reach the eventual goal. So for me, the meaning
part of the goal is that I believe face feeding has a
lot to offer to the world, and it's something
where my heart is, and I want to contribute
in that field. That's the bigger meaning, the bigger purpose
behind the goal. Having a meaning, a
connection to what you do just adds that extra slice, extra fuel to your life. So when you are
thinking of your goal, think about a bigger purpose. That you'll be serving
that is beyond your individual self and which
is beneficial to others. For example, if you're
an artist or a creator, your bigger purpose could
be to draw your artwork to spread knowledge about
a particular cause that you feel connected to. Here, it's very, very, very important that you keep
that bigger purpose in mind, rather than the monetary rewards that you may achieve
after your goals. So think about your goals now, what you can do consistently for the next six
months from now, even if nobody is
applauding you. Think about where your
heart is and commit to it. It's okay if you don't
get your goal right now, but eventually, I have faith
that you'll be able to. In the next lesson, I'll
be simplifying how you can execute this big goal by setting three
important landmarks. So let's jump into that lesson.
3. How to execute the Goal-The Three Landmarks: Executing the goals is the most important
part of the goals you set because that's how
you materialize your goal. In this lesson, I
will share with you the three landmarks
that you need to keep to achieve your goal. The first landmark is
the task landmark, which means what activity and task you need to incorporate
to achieve your goal. Task landmark is something
that you can control. For example, my
task was to upload 45 to 50 long form
content on YouTube around phase reading and do seven to eight
phase readings for my clients a month
for the phase of January to June
in the year 2024. So I broke down this
task landmark into seven to eight videos
and seven to eight face reading services a
month from June to June, which means I'll be able to
make roughly 45 to 50 videos, along with serving roughly 50
clients by the end of June. Of course, there can be things here and there, which there was. But this is a kind of rough plan you can keep for yourself. It's important while you're
setting your task landmark, see how much you can
stretch yourself, yet be comfortable in
executing your task landmark. For me, my average
plan for a week was to design two videos and to
serve two clients per week. That is simple. The
second landmark in GL execution is the inflow
financial landmark. The inflow landmark is your monetary expectation from your revenue streams and the
efforts you're putting in. For example, let's say, if for your service offering, you charge $100 a client and you serve eight
clients a month, that means you're
making $800 a month. Multiply it by six
or seven months, you'll be making
roughly 4,800 to $5,600 in six to seven months. Depending on what
your business is, what your current
revenue streams are, you can set this financial
inflow landmark of yours. Again, it's important
that you don't keep it very easy or extremely
overwhelming. It's important to keep it
aligned with the task landmark. That is what task
you can achieve and accomplish in six to
seven months from now. For me, initially, I set an
easy inflow landmark target, which later I had to revise. So it's important you set a decent enough inflow
landmark for your project. The third landmark is
your wish landmark. By the name of it, it indicates your desires and
wishes you have. For me, my wish was to reach 200 subscribers on my YouTube
channel in six months. My wish was to serve my clients with face
reading every week. My wish was also to
be featured in one of the news interviews sharing
about face reading. For you, the wish could be
to have 5,000 followers on Instagram through
your artwork or 200 potential sales of
your service offering. Wish landmark is something that is not very much
under your control, but it's a wish but make
it more reasonable. Why I kept wish of 200 subscribers was because
at the start of it, I saw channels with 100 videos
having 300 subscribers. I knew that not many people
are aware about face reading, so this may not be
a viable content. So set wishes that you
feel are desirable, but where you will
feel, you will feel pushed and motivated. Somehow, if you can create the right sync in between
these three landmarks, that is the task landmark, the inflow landmark, and
the wished landmark, you'll hit more or less each of these landmarks
at the same time. When that happens, it is a further evaluation that
you have set the right goal. So think about and set
your three landmarks now. In the next lesson, I'll be sharing with you
landmark rewards you can keep to further motivate you to accomplish
your next goals. That really will be pretty
awesome. So see you there.
4. Landmark Rewards: I hope you have kind of thought about the three landmarks now. In this lesson, I'll
share with you what rewards you can keep
upon hitting your task, inflow and wish landmarks. These rewards definitely
keep you posed and motivated towards achieving
your bigger goal. So what is a landmark
reward is a question. That must be popping
your head by now. Landmark rewards are rewards are gifts that you give
to yourself or to your business once you achieve your three landmarks
simultaneously. For me, because video production was something that I did
my landmark reward upon hitting the mark of designing 45 to 50 YouTube videos in my mind was to
purchase a new camera, a new microphone,
and a new McBook. I plan to purchase these
three things once I reach the end of the
year of June 2024. Having said that, it didn't
pan out the way I planned, and I'll explain this
in the lesson timelines planned versus actual
happening of events later on. But at this point, set your two to three
landmark rewards that you'll give upon
reaching your landmarks. If you can keep these rewards, centering around your business, centering what you
do and your needs, it will further help you
in setting right goals in increasing your productivity and thereby bring you more business. In the next lesson, I'll
share important tips on what you can do when you
hit your three landmarks.
5. When you hit these 3 landmarks...: When you hit the
three landmarks, possibly at the same time, it is time to really
feel happy and congratulate yourself for the
efforts you put in by now. It takes a lot to put in
the sustained effort, and I'm super proud of
you once you reach there. But when you hit
these landmarks, evaluate whether the
landmark rewards that you set initially, whether purchasing
them will really yield output as you imagined, or will that be an
additional cost to your existing business? Will adding that landmark
reward be extremely productive? Will that significantly
contribute to your revenue stream over the current setups that
you are already using? I feel here being frugal, being adaptive to where
you find yourself six to seven months down the line after you
set a goal helps. If you can go with
the current setup, maybe compromising on one
of the landmark rewards, it will help you keep pushed yet be frugal about
your spendings. For me, when I hit the
three landmarks together, I purchased a microphone
and a camera, but I felt my existing
Windows laptop would pretty much do the job, which it did to an extent. Although one month later, I did purchase MacBook
because I was pushed for heavy editing that was
required on the videos, but it's important to evaluate and not be very emotional to go after your landmark rewards once you cross the three
landmarks together. So evaluating, giving time, and if it's really,
really needed, and if it's really going to
be super productive for you, then go for your landmark
reward purchase. In the next lesson,
I'll share with you my timeline of
what I planned, voices, how it turned out. It's going to be very interesting
and insightful for you, so let's join in.
6. My Timeline Planned Vs Actual Events: Lesson is going to
be fun listening because in this lesson, I'll give you the timeline
of what I planned versus how the events turned out eventually with respect to reaching
on my three landmarks. So from Jan to me, I was decently hitting
my targets with respect to task and
inflow landmark, where I was making and
designing videos for YouTube. I was serving my clients
to face reading sessions. But latter part of June, my Instagram ads suddenly were not yielding results
that I expected. So there was a slump
in the business, and thereby it delayed me on my inflow
financial landmark. For the next two months,
that is up till August, it was reviving but still
not up to the mark. That dip resulted in a two
month delay of hitting my inflow landmark
through which it also led me to evaluate
whether I really need all the three landmark rewards or I can manage with
the two of them. That's why I mentioned in the previous lesson to evaluate on your landmark
rewards once you hit them rather than excitingly
going to purchase them. So my actual plan
landmark reward, purchase of a
microphone, a camera, a MAC a mac book
was due in July, but I purchased a microphone
and camera in mid of August and MAC in
mid of September. So in reality, you
may land up here and there for any number of
reasons, but your goal, your landmarks,
always will pull you to reach where you
want to reach. In the next lesson,
I'll share with you in lieu of landmark rewards, what you can do to
make yourself more productive and goal oriented. So let's jump right in.
7. In lieu of landmark rewards, give a task: This lesson, I want you
to think upon a task for your business that you
will do once you hit, once you reach your
landmark rewards. For me, designing
this class for you, where I can help you in setting
and executing your goals easily was one of my tasks after my
landmark reward purchase. See, I'm still in the process of living this class through
the goal setting. I also have to design one more extensive class on pace reading in lieu
of this purchase. So for me, designing
at least two classes, along with being more creative
with my storytelling on YouTube is my further goal
for the next six months. This is like a non negotiable. The key part and key
intention here is to have something to look forward to with your rewards
that you have attained. Along with that, if you
can think on lines of how your landmark rewards
will compensate itself and free themselves in a
substantial time bracket for things you create with them will help ease out on your business. In the next lesson,
I'll share with you important pointers
for this class, the learnings that I endured during these eight to nine
months living this class. So let's deep dive into it as it's going to be
fun listening for you.
8. 7 Important Pointers for the Class: Welcome you to this lesson, and I'm happy that you
have made it so far. It really shows how
much you are to get better in goal setting
and goal execution. In this lesson, I'll share with you seven important pointers that will help you
in your journey to set and execute goals better. The first pointer is to set goals that you can
practically achieve. Giving overwhelming
goals is a norm that we follow and
thereby we sink. So set goals for a
timeline where you can be comfortable yet feel pushed. The second pointer is
to reach your goal with minimum current spending
using your current resources, which means be as
frugal as you can be. It always, always pays
in the long term. The third pointer
is to keep at it. There will be times when
you won't get stimulation. There will be times
when your enthusiasm is at the bottom low. There will be time
when you won't feel interest to do what you're
doing, but keep at it. Trust the process. Have
faith on the goals you set and follow it just for
the time period you set. Maybe up till your
next birthday. The fourth one is to be adaptive and progressive to
update your landmarks. If either of the three
landmarks that you have set, if you have reached them early, then try to revise them. And then target to a new one. For me, my initial inflow
landmark was something that I set at a less level,
and I reached it early, so I gave myself revised
inflow landmark, which eventually I reached two
months later than planned, but that I believe was more
or less a better target. So be progressive about updating and revising
your landmarks. The fifth pointer
is with respect to the landmark rewards
and unlocking them. I feel if you unlock your
landmarks like levels, that will help you
with better management of your spending as well. For example, for me,
it would be like for 45 videos, I'll
purchase a camera. For 50 videos, I'll
purchase a microphone, and for 100 videos,
I'll get a mac boook. So it's like unlocking
new landmark rewards by attaining a new level
through your task landmark. Also, make sure to compare how much percentage efficiency
increase you'll see in your output versus your revenue that you'll attain through your
landmark reward. The sixth pointer
is rather cliche, which is to give a timeline, a deadline for fulfilling your task landmark because it is the super essential stuff. Seventh pointer is to remember to put in
small steps every day. It will help you not to burn out and also let you feel driven. These are the seven
pointers I felt will help you during your journey of
setting and achieving goals. Do let me know in the
discussion section, how you feel about them and contribute in your
necessary points as I and you are together
in this journey of uplifting and making
each other better. In the next lesson,
I'll share with you an interesting
class project. We are very, very close
to finishing this class. So let's be at it.
9. SkillShare Class Project: We are onto the segment, which will give foundations to your next six to 12
months of goal setting, which means we are at the
class project segment. The class project for
you is to first define your goal for the next six
to 12 months, and second, is to break down your goals into three landmarks of how you're going to execute
and achieve them. Yes, you can also mention
the landmark rewards to keep yourself motivated
by the side of it. These landmarks are the same that we study during the class, which is a task landmark
where you need to put the activity that you
do on a monthly basis. The inflow landmark is the monetary
expectation or a target you wish to hit after the specified six to 12
months according to you. And which landmark is
the wish that you have? List down what are
the necessary stuff you need to get
yourself started. For example, for me, having a phone camera and an iPad was necessary
to start building on my face reading YouTube
channel because I needed to explain face reading through
pictures on the tablet. Once you write the
class project, it is now the roadmap for you for the next six to 12 months. Also, please make sure to upload your class project as
fellow learners and myself can learn from your project and share insights on what you can do
to make it better. So it's now your time
to write your project. Take a snap of it and upload it in the skill share
project gallery. In the next lesson, I'll walk you through my landmark rewards. It's definitely going
to be super fun.
10. My Landmark Rewards: Let me show you the landmark
rewards that I got once I crossed the three landmarks together, mostly
at the same time. But, yeah, I already shared in the class that I have got
the MacBook a little later. So what I'll do is I'll show just the packages of it
because my camera is in use, and my laptop is here. I may not be able to show you
the laptop. Maybe I will. Let's try. So this
is the Sony camera that I got for myself
for shooting this class. Also, it was one of the aims. Then I got this Microphone, which was the purchase that I did together with a
camera and microphone, because these two are
the essential things, and editing is
something that I could execute on my windows laptop, right? So that is
something that I did. And then I purchased the
MacBook a month later. So this is the, uh, package of the MacBook
Pro that I got. And on that also, this video class will be edited. Let me just show you
the MacBook, as well. So this is the MacBook,
so I'm not lying that I really lived this class, and thereby, I want to help you for letting
your goals be easy. This was the purchase, with the laptop because I'm in need of mouse
and without mouse, I cannot work, so
I had to purchase. This was not in the eventual
plan, and as you know, that you may plan things, but how it happens in reality is something
that could be different. So these are the three
landmark rewards that I that I accomplished, and I'm waiting for your landmark rewards
to be inside your life, thereby set your goals, divide your goals into
the three landmarks, get your landmark rewards
because they ultimately will push you to do better and even set your goals
further better. So yeah, these are the things. And yeah, let me jump on
to the final section now. Well, in the next lesson, I'll share some final
words with you.
11. Final Words : Goals: Congratulations to you
for making it so far. It takes excitement to start anything but discipline
to finish it. And you have shown it, which
indicates how serious you are towards your goal
setting journey. I want to thank you
from the bottom of my heart for being
part of this class. I hope this class may contribute to simplifying
your goal setting, in inculcating trust
in goal setting, in simplifying your
goal execution. And more importantly, it
lets you have fun during the entire process
when you're involved in a cycle of accomplishing
your landmarks. Do let me know for any questions that you have in the
discussion section, please do upload
your class project as I'm eagerly waiting
to see your goals, and I would love a review from how you feel
about this class. To be honest, I enjoyed
sharing the lessons with you. You have been an
amazing partner to me. And if you want to partner
me in other classes, do check in my profile, and you'll have access to all
the courses that I offer. It's time for me
to say, Goodbye. Goodbye. I wish you the very best in your
goal setting journey, and I have utmost faith in you that you'll
set your goals right. Thank you, once
again. Take care, and I have a
beautiful day ahead.
