1. Kids Watercolour Painting Happymess: Hi, welcome to my Happy Mess watercolor class. In this class, you will learn how to let go, how to enjoy the process and concentrate on just the colors you like and also on how you're feeling while you're painting. So let's go through some of our materials that we're going to need for this first picture. So, of course, I have my watercolor paper here. I've also got a variety of different brushes here, just use whatever you have. But these are my favorites here. And then you'll notice that I have lots of different things around my table, too. I generally love to put things around me that make me feel happy. I'm a big collector of nature items. So I've got some shells that I've recently collected. I like collecting driftwood. We aren't necessarily going to be painting of any of those things, but they make me feel happy. So we've also got a little palette here to be able to mix some colours if I want to mix some different colors. And then I'll be using the Kurataki paints here. These are my favorite. You can use whatever watercolor paints that you have, too. So for starters, I've got my water here as well. Going to wet my brush, and I'm just going to go ahead and start mixing a little bit of red, making sure we've got lots of water on our brush. And I'm just going to go ahead and make a little stripe on my page like this. In fact, I might just put some various ones in here just adding a little bit of water here. Wherever I like, washing my brush in between, and then just picking another color. And we're going to go ahead and fill this whole page just with the stripes. And you'll notice when you just touch the one next to it, you can notice how the colors are beautifully blending next to each other. So just pick colors you like, and we'll fill this page up with all the different colors. Have a look at how all of these beautiful colors are blended, and that was super fun to create. Hey feeling so far. You ready for our next step? So we're just going to add one more little bit of happy mess fun to this little picture. This is making me feel very happy right now. So I'm going to just have a look at these shapes here. I love how all these colors have really blended in nice. I've got all kinds of things happening there. It's beautiful. You never know quite what to expect when you're using watercolor, which is why I love using it. So on the top of all these, I can see kind of like some rectangles. So I'm going to go ahead and just maybe outline a couple of these rectangles wherever I see them, and yours is going to look a little bit different to mine, and that is okay. So just use your fine liner, texta, whatever you have there and just find some little rectangles. You can even create some as well. And let's see how many I can find. Okay, there's probably more in there, but I'm just gonna leave it that you might find some other shapes in there as well. I've got some big ones and some small ones there, and now I'm going to go ahead and just put a little circle on top of each of these ones like this. And now we're just going to go ahead and add some arms. Again, you don't have to be really exact with the way you're doing these shapes. This is just some fun. Loose kind of drawing sketching, if you like. You might like to add buttons to some of them. You might like to add some details on the top. You might like to add pants on the bottom. So just see where your drawing takes you with these, as you can see, really just going with the flow with this, there's no right or wrong way at all. Some of them have got their arms up in the air. You might like to draw little hands as well. So missing ahead. Better add that. Okay. Well, maybe some of them have got little pockets, even. And this is just a fun little activity, just to get you in the mood for painting, not necessarily thinking about the outcome at all, but just having a little bit of fun, seeing what's possible. And just, yeah, using your imagination a little bit. We're just super fun. How did yours turn out? Well, hopefully, it doesn't look exactly like mine. It looks just like yours, and you're feeling super happy after painting it. So don't forget to share your picture with us. We would love to see them. Thanks for joining my class today.
