1. Introduction : Hello, everyone. This is
Nagamina, your crochet tutor. Today we'll be
seeing how to make these beautiful crochet baskets. See the basket is
looking nice and sturdy. We haven't used any
stiffening agents. Don't like a messy table, then you can use this
as an organizer. You can use it to
organize your cosmetics. You can even use it
in your study table. To store your pens, pencils. Otherwise, you can even use it for storing your
crochet hooks. They are looking nice and stiff. If you know the
basics of crochet, then this is an easy tutorial, a very simple and easy
crochet storage organizer. Now let's get started
and see how to crochet these beautiful
storage baskets.
2. Crochet Supplies Required: Now let's take a look at the crochet supplies that are
required for this project. I'm using Olivia brand yarn, and this is the
shared butter green, and this one is lemon green. For this project, I'll be using two strands
in both of these. I'll take two strands of this lemon green and two
strands for this butter cream. Today I'll be using a
5.5 millimeter hook, a pair of scissors, a tapestry needle,
and stitch markers. Grab your crochet supplies.
Let's get starter.
3. Making the Base for Storage Basket: I'm using two strands
together for this project, we'll be starting from a circle. So we'll start with
the magic circle. Wrap your yarn in
the shape of X. Secure it with a chain one. Fine, or magic ring is ready. Inside this ring,
I'm going to work six sets of single crochet no my first single crochet. In this single crochet, we'll put a stitch marker. Five more, we are
going to work Two. Three. Four, five, and the last 16. Now let's pull this one. Put this one nice and tight. Our first round is ready. The first round with six sets of single crochets is ready. Now what we are
going to do is into this first single crochet
workers lip stitch. Round number one is ready. For round number
two, start off with a chain one so this won't be counted and into the same space, work two sets of single crochet. In this round, the
pattern we'll be working two sets of single crochet
in each and every stitch. We'll first make a single
crochet in this first space. After making your
first single crochet, use your stitch marker and mark it here so that it'll
be easy for you while you're finishing your
round into the same space, I'm going to work
another single crochet. So we have made it here, now into the next stitch. In the same way into
each and every stitch, work two sets of
single crochets. A As you can see, I have reached the end
of my round number two, and I have a total of 12
sets of single crochets. Now we'll remove
this stitch marker and top of our first
single crochet. Let's make a slip stitch. Round number three, start off by making chain one. This won't be considered
into this first space, work two sets of single crochet. In the same space, I'm working another
single crochet. Here we have worked two single crochets
into our next stitch, I'll be working one single
crochet and into the next one, I'll work two sets
of single crochet. In alternate stitches, we'll be working two and one
set of single crochet. Into the next one, one
set of single crochet. In case if you get confused with which is the first stitch, then you can use a
stitch marker here and mark it over there for
our first stitcher. Follow the same pattern, I'll catch you at the end. As you can see, we have
reached the end of our round number three
and in this round, you'll be having a total of
18 set of single crochets, the chain one won't be
counted as a stitch. Here in the first single
crochet over here, we'll make our slip stitcher. Our round number
three is finished. Round number four, we'll be using the pattern,
two, one, one. Round number three, we use
the pattern two and one. In this round we'll
be using 211. Start off by making a chain
one and this won't be counted and into the
same stitch work, two sets of single
crochere one and two. After making two, into
the next two stitches, work 11 single crochet. First and second. Two, one, one, into
the next stitch, I'll be working two
single crochets. The same pattern of making
211 single crochets. I'll meet you at the end
of this round number four. I have reached the end
of my round number four. At the end of this round, you'll be having a total of
24 sets of single crochets. Now into the first
single crochet, we'll make a slip stitch. This crochet storage can be
made in different sizes. You can differentiate
it by either increasing or decreasing this circle. If you want it in a bigger size, you can increase the
number of rounds. If you want it in
a smaller size, then reduce the number of
rounds in this base circle. Now for round number five, chain one and into the same stitch work two
sets of single crochet. Into the next three stitches, work 11 single crochet. One, two, and three. Done and into the next stitch, two sets of single crochet. Into the next three stitches, one, one single crochet. This will be our pattern
for round number five. We'll be working two, one, one, and one. Follow the same pattern, I'll meet you at the end. At the end of round number five, you'll be having a total
of 30 single crochet. Now into our first
single crochet we'll make our slip stitcher. Round number six chain one, this won't be
considered as a stitch. Into the same stitch work, two sets of single
crochet, one and two. I have worked two
single crochets into the next four stitches, we'll be working
11 single crochet. One, Two, three, and four. For this round, the pattern will be two single crochets and one stitch followed by one single crochet in
the next four stitches. Now in the next stitch,
I'll be working two sets of single crochet. Followed by one
single crochet in the next four stitches, one, two, three, and finally four. Follow the same
pattern of making two single crochets followed by one single crochet in
the next four stitches, I'll meet you and I reach the end of this
round number six. At the end of round number six, you'll be having a total of
36 sets of single crochet. Into our first single
crochet, make a slip stitch. We have reached the end
of our round number six. For round number
seven, chain one, this won't be considered as a stitch and into the
same stitch work, two sets of single crochet. Now into the next five stitches, we'll be working one
set of single crochet. One, two, three, four and five. After making five sets
of single crochets, one, one single crochet, into the next ditch work, two set of single crochet. Into the next five stitches, one, one single crochet. For this round, the pattern
will be two followed by single crochet in
the next five stitches. Follow the same pattern and at the end of this
round number seven. I have reached the end
of round number seven, like we did with our
previous rounds, make a slip stitch in the first
single crochet over here. So our base is ready. It's looking nice and stiffer. Now let's weave this end off. Here we are going
to weave it off. Base is ready.
4. Making the sides for Storage Basket: Let's see how to make the
sides for our storage basket. I'm using the same color yarn. If you need, you
can also change it. If you see for each
and every project, we'll be working through
both of this loop over here. We have two loops
over here and we'll be inserting the needle
under both the loops. But for this basket, what I'm going to
do is I'm going to work only in the back loop. So I'm going to work
only in this back globe. Start off by making a chain one. This chain one won't
be considered as our stitch now inside
the back loop. I'm inserting my needle
at the back loop. Make a single crochet. In the same way now
into a second stitch, I'm inserting in the back loop. Now in each and every stitch, I'll be working only in my
back loop for this round. Like our previous round, for this storage basket, for the sides of
the storage basket, we'll be having a total
of 42 single crochets. In our previous round also
we had 42 single crochets, now we won't
increase it further. Now follow the same pattern of making one single crochets
in each of the stitches. I'll meet you at the end. As you can see here, since we have worked
in our back loop, it'll differentiate
between the base and the side walls of
our storage basket. Now what I'm going to do is into our first single crochet, park a slip stitch. In this round also
we'll be having 42 sets of single crochet. Now as you can see, it
has slowly curled up, so it's a good sign
for our basket. The next round chain one, this one be considered as a stitch and now into
each and every stitch, I'm going to work
a single crochet. Now go through both the loops. Now work one single crochet in each and every stitch
and this will be our repetitive round for the
side walls of our basket. You can do as many
number of rounds as required for your
storage basket. Based on the height that is needed for your storage basket, you can repeat the
number of rounds. All the way around, M one single crochet in each and every stitch and
when you come to the end, make a slip stitch at the top of your
first single crochet and repeat this row number
of times as needed for you. Based on the height of
your storage basket, you can either increase or
decrease the number of rounds. I'll meet you at the
end of this round. Now my basket is getting shape. I have reached the
end of this round, make a slip stitch at your
first single crochet here. Your basket has
started to take shape. Repeat this particular
round number two as many number of times
as required for your basket. See here, we can
differentiate between our base and this
side of our basket. Follow the same pattern
until you reach your desired height for
your storage basket. I'll show you how to
proceed further after that. Our basket has taken
in good shape. S, it's nice and sturdy. I have made a total of five rounds of making this one set of single
crochet need stitches. Now I have cut off
my extra yarn, we'll finish off with this color and we'll
start with our color B. If you need, you
can even continue with the same color or
you can change the color. Now let's make a slip stitch
here and pull off your yarn. Fine. Now let's
join our color B. In my color B also I'm
using two strands together, wrap it around your forefinger
and insert your hook. Insert your hook. Here I'm
inserting it where I made my slip stitch insert
it and pull it over. Fine. Now make a chain
one and secure it. Fine. Now what we are going
to do is we are going to continue the same
single crochet, but in a different method, in to go into the
same stitch and make M one single crochet. I have made my single crochet. The next one, I'm going to
make a long single crochet. For long single crochet, what I'm going to do is this is my second stitch over here. I'm going down here at
the base of this stitch, yarn over and pull through and now make this
long single crochet. Like this, you'll get it. Next stitch, I'm making
a single crochet. Into the next stitch,
a long single crochet. Alternatively, we'll be making a single crochet and
a single crochet. Now into the next stitch, make a single crochet. Long single crochet. Making it in an
alternate way gives you a nice and good look to
your storage basket. Like I mentioned previously, you can use a stitch marker for our first single
crochet so that you don't get confused on where to make a slip stitch while
finishing the round. Follow the same pattern of making a single crochet
and a long single crochet. I'll show you once again. Here I have made
my single crochet for the long single crochet, what we are going to do is we'll be going again in the base. Now here at the
top of this ditch, I'll make a single crochet. Now at the base of
this single groucht. As you can see, we have
reached the end of our round. What I'm going to do
is I'm going to make a slip stitch here at the first single
crochet we made. The chain one which we made at the beginning doesn't
count as a stitch. We started off by making
one single crochet. See here, we finished
it off by making a long single crochet. Here we have our
extra yarn over here. We tie it off together. Cut this extra thread off. I have cut off my extra
thread over here. Next round is also the same one. But the difference
is wherever we did a long single crochet
in our previous round, we'll be working a
normal single crochet and where we worked as
normal single crochet, we'll be working a long one. As you can see,
we'll start off by making a chain one
in this ditch, in previous round we
made a single crochet. Here we'll be making a
long single crochet. Go to the base of this single crochet and
make a long single crochet. Done. Now into this stitch, we'll be making a
normal single crochet over here, top of that stitch. Now here, in the base, we'll be making a
long single crochet. Here we'll be making
a single crochet. Again, here, make a
long single crochet, single crochet. Long
single crochet. Single crochet. Alternatively,
we'll be doing. We are going to
repeat this round, repeat as many number of rounds as required for your
crochet basket. You can stop it when you
reach your desired height. Once I reach my desired height, I'll show you how to make the edging for our
storage basket. Follow the same
pattern of making one long single crochet and one single crochet
alternatively. I have made five rounds by making one long single
crochet and one single crochet.
5. Edging for the Storage Basket: For this, I made the edging
with my color B itself. If you want, you can use your same color B for
making the edging. Now I'm going to
change my color. I'll make a slip stitch here. Now let's join our second color. I have taken my
color A. I'm using two strands here,
insert your hook. Fine. Now make chain
one and secure it. So now it's secured. Now we are going to work
reverse single crochet. What I'm going to
do is I'm going to work it from this side. I'm working it in
a reverse side. What I'm doing is put your hook through
the previous stitch, yarn over and pull through. As usual for a single
crochet, yarn over, pull through both the loops. Similarly into our next stitch, early into our next touch. We'll be getting a
border like this. Continue the same
pattern of making reverse single crochet
in each of the stitches. I'll meet you when I
reach the end of this. See, I have reached the
end of this edging and our edging is looking
nice and beautiful. Let's see how to finish this. For finishing, what I'm doing is into the same we started
again from there, I'm inserting my hook and I'm making another reverse
single crochet. Now I have cut off
my extra yarn. Now using a tapestry needle, we'll beave off the ends there. Insert your hook here
into the next stitch. Now both threads are on
the other side here, I'll tie these two together. When we joined color A and
color B, we had a here. First, I'm tying this off. Now, again, using this
loop, I'm tying it off. So now let's cut all
these extra threads.
6. Measurement of the Storage Basket: So our storage basket is ready. It's looking nice and sturdy. Since we are using
two strands of yarn for making this
storage basket, there is no need for any
stiffening agent to be used. So it's a multi purpose
storage basket. So you can make it in different sizes and different colors. For this basket, I
have used my color A for the edging and here I used my same
color B for edging. You can do it in different
colors and sizes. Now let's see the
measurement for our basket. The base for our basket
is about 10 centimeters. And the height of a
basket is 8 centimeters.
7. Class Project: So for our class project, you can make the basket
in different sizes. So for changing the size, if you increase or
decrease your base part, then you'll get your
desired shape and size. Make it in different sizes
in different colors. Once you're done with
your class project, upload your photos in case of any queries related to this
crochet storage basket, feel free to ask. I'll revert you back
as soon as possible. I'll meet you again in a new crochet project until
then by happy Crocheting
