1. INTRODUCTION: Hello and welcome. In this class, I will show you how I created a twelv month walking log on Notion. This log book Captured the number of steps taken, the total monthly step count. This is how your final template will look like. It will essentially be a journal listing. All the steps that you have taken in a calendar year. There will be a main page with the content section showing a list of months. Each of these will be linked to individual pages like this. Each monthly page will contain the number of steps taken in that particular month. 2. YOUR PROJECT: Before we start working on our template, Let's go through your project. You will be creating your own working log on Notion. This log should have the following. A page containing an image, a quotation, and a linked list of months. You will also be creating sub pages containing a database with the following fields, date, stamps, and footnotes. And of course, the total number of steps taken. 3. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: We will be using Notion and Excel. Go to www dot notion dot. So to create your Notion account. 4. BUILD YOUR TEMPLATE: Let's now start building this template. First. Select, Add a page. Now, select the untitled document and rename it to 2023 walking log. Next, add an icon. In this tutorial, we will select the feat icon. Next. Change the background to one of the available images, or use a relevant image from unsplash. You can also use your own photo at your text here. Next, change the style to heading two, and then change the color to blue. Next, type slash DIV. This refers to divider, and it will give you a horizontal line. Now that we've created a divider, we will now go ahead and create two columns on this page. You'll need to type slash CEO L2. I'll look for it here. Next. At your first quote here. Change the style by selecting quote from this list. The code size should be default. Add a background color. You can also change the color of your text. Do the same for the next. Next, create two columns used to shortcut slash CEO L2. To do this. Now, go through this list and select call out. Select an appropriate imagery. In this case, it is the emoji. Next, add some text in the colored field and hyperlink the word here. Like this. You can make the colors pop by Bolding and changing the color of its content. I've bolded the text and change its color to orange. Next, add a divider by either selecting it from this list or by typing forward slash DIV. Now, add some text in the footer. Now I'm going to add a block of space between the callout and the divider. Now at five columns here, either select it from the list or type forward slash five. Add an emoji on the fifth column. Now, let's create the monthly pages. First. Type January 2023 on this line. Next, select turn into page in, and choose 2023, walking log. To go into the page, click January 2023. Now, add an image on the header by clicking at cover. For the purpose of this exercise, let's choose a background color instead of a photo. Next, a database. Do this by looking for either Inline database of full-page database here. All use the shortcuts forward slash database and select Inline database. Next, height, the title of the database. Now I will move this column. Next, rename this heading to date. Then go to Edit property, select type, and then date. Next, select the heading and change it to Footnotes. Now add a new column. Change the property type to number. And name this column steps. Next. Select the progress bar and change the number to 10,000, which refers to 10,000 daily steps. Now, I will move this column. Next, I will move to Excel. And we'll be using this software to populate all the dates. After populating all the dates, copy them, and paste them on your Notion template. Now, go to the Calculate Field and select sum. This will add all the number of steps taken which are indicated in the steps column. So I'm adding some numbers and you will see that the steps have been added. And you can also add comments. And then the footnotes column. Now I'm going to create the pages for the rest of the months. In order to do this, you have to duplicate this. After it's been duplicated. Click on the link, edit the title to February 2023. Next, we will replace the dates. First, go to Excel type one, February 2023, and drag the data down. Next, copy the February dates and placed them on your notion page. Do the same for the rest of the months. Now let's make some minor adjustments. 5. SHARE YOUR TEMPLATE: Finally, we are ready to show our notion template to the world. To do this, press the share button and select the share to web toggle bar. You can view your template on the website by copying the web link and pasting it on a browser. 6. CONCLUSION: So that's it. This is how you can create a notion walking luck. I hope you enjoyed this short costs. See you next time.
