1. Introduction: Hi, welcome to descend sketching cars, season one, where you learn how to create amazing designs, Brookie, cookie and efficiently, or your iPad. I'm Chris Carey. I'm an industrial designer and an architect currently pursuing my research career at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. I have worked with many brands in freelancing platforms. Whether you are designing those years, are budding industrial designer. This course covers everything so that you can start creating. Know every topics covered from user-interface, design, sketching, perspective guides, final renderings and more. I left nothing. In addition to teaching you everything there is to know about creating in Procreate. This course also gives you a practical advices, demonstrations, and guide, which will help you get most out of your design skills experience. And they are constantly expanding to teach you more. Whether you're sketching a consumer product, Lumiere product, and a food web design. I'm right here with you as you learn. And you can gain free access to our online community of fellow students to learn faster and smarter. Whether you scheduled pain, you will find iPad has an excellent tool in your design process to create your vision into reality. In our first project, he will try to benchmark your skills with your existing knowledge. And at the end of the course, we will create a digital rendering based on the lessons and skills we have gained from the course. I'm sure you'll find this course to be the very best to learn to use Procreate for design sketching. And we'll probably learn a lot today. If you are ready to start sketching and painting or an iPad Pro, I'm totally ready to teach everything that I know. See you in the first lesson. 2. Different types of Design Sketching: We are now going to take a look at that color pick. So if you go to the top right of your interface and you can hit the color circle. You will open up the color pen. And the current panel is split into four categories which are identified. At the bottom. We have the disk category which we are now, and is the normal default category, the classic category value. Then at the top of this category we can see, can have a little color block section with two colors in it. And the left-hand color is the currently selected color, which is a very, very light yellow color. And on the right-hand side we have the new deselected color and that will change as we move around this interface. Now speaking up this interface, we have an outer ring and this ordering is over shoots selection, really the technical term for color in a sense. And the inner circle allows us to add white or black to the selected hue or add more gray or less gray. And the technical term for this would be increasing the value by adding more white and decreasing the value by adding more black, making it darker, or adding more gray to decelerate the color and getting less gray to saturate the corner. Now, we know these rings, we have a color palette area currently, this might skin palette that I've created. And we will look more into these categories. Nevertheless, when you select a particular hue value and saturation, you can enter into this area to instantly add the color. When you can do as well as you can press and hold and drag to move it around. And you can press and hold it to let the delete option up here. Then you can delete and remove that color from that particular palette. Let's move on to the classic view. Modern day digital art software, particularly on PC, often features this is verse saturation in Valley area. And this is the one hearing loses slider at the bottom for the hue. And so what you can do is select you here with the bottom and then increase the decreasing value by moving up and down and increase or decrease the saturation, maybe moving left or right. But in addition to this, it also gives you sliders. If you want more precise control and see the things for yourself and do the moment for you. And then you can actually, just to lay the slightest. Again, we have the color palette here that you can add your selected color into. And let's go to the page, gives you a huge saturation and value separated sign, as well as our RGB ranges, red, green, and blue color ranges that you can modify independently. So you also have a hexadecimal box. When you tap into that hexadecimal number, you will be able to add hexadecimal codes if you're familiar with web development, it is essentially a court system to achieve various colors. Someone can give you the hexadecimal code for a particular current, and you can type it in here and it will give you that exact corner. And then you can add it to your palettes. Let's go to the section of the iconic, and let's see the balance here and done our defaults in Procreate. And again, create an unlimited number of ballots for yourself. You're going to also then that's the default button to make your palate the default palette. So e.g. if I click set to default to this icon and I go to my desk and you can see that this palette is my default palette. So examples of valid Jimmy create will be like a skin tone color, Let's say for a stainless steel texture. Or you can see different theme colors. So all you have to do is just plus sign and the top right of the panic window to create a new palette. And here we have it over here. It's called an untitled palette. I can press and hold to rearrange and I can tap into to need to rename it. This is called is one name. And then what I can do is five, right? If I want to delete that palette for export and share a pellet. This process of exporting and importing palettes work the same as it does for brushes. Now, in addition to this, Let's go back to our desk view, which is our typical view. Now, we can talk about the square, but in between our size later than opacity slider, the brush size slider, and the passage slender, we have a small rectangle. How small square? Icon? So let's select that. If you present a whole that butter, your turn to display will see color picking green, you press and hold. And you can see that the color will change as you drag it across the image. When you let go, the color at the top right, it will change as you press and hold that square up and down and tap. You will see that the color changes to every news on the remote two. So here we can color pick the colors in the malls and dark gray appears. So that's it for this lesson. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 3. Why Ipad is a favourite tool for designers: Hi. In this lesson we will talk about why iPad is a favorite tool for designers. Ipad Pro, iPad, iPad, Mini. There are basically four types of IPR available in the market. And that is iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini. Coming through the features of iPad. The main three features are portably resourcefulness and display. So I felt Pro is actually easy to carry around in your workplace home. You can actually sit on a couch and start sketching. So talking about the portability is the biggest feature of iPad. Ipad Pro is combined with a Bluetooth keyboard. It actually negates the limitation of typing. Now, let's talk about resource for less. Ipad Pro comes with a lot of art applications. Again, visually how a lot of brushes inside these applications. And best thing about iPad, it can be connected to Internet very easily using cellular connection or a Wi-Fi connection. So this is the greatest toll of iPad. Now let's talk about the display. I don't have to explain you the power of iPad display. It comes with the proton retina display and pottery. You see an iPad Pro. It have the true color tone. So it's a very great a set of iPad. I actually uses an iPad Pro, 10.5 inch screen size is the total, so 17 model. So I would recommend you to buy the latest model to Dawson 19 or 2020. I think 2020 is yet to release. So even if you don't get these models is fine. You can go for it. 2017 model. The best thing about iPad Pro lay this model is they have eliminated the home button. And it has a new generation of Apple pencil, which isn't a magnetic feature. So we can snap magnetic fit to the iPad. So this is a very great asset of the new generation iPad. All you have to do check is whether the Apple pencil will be compatible or not. If Apple Pencil is compatible, then that's great. Just go for it. So in the next lecture, where we're talking four different types of software uses an iPad that's basically Sketchbook, Pro, and procreate. I would recommend you to improve upon your traditional design sketching skills. Because we are only good if you're good at traditional designs kitchen. All these digital illustration techniques, iPad, you can always improve later. These are just designed tools, but the foundation is not strong, then it would affect the progression of your lessons. So when it comes to the fluidity and strokes of our ninth, you shouldn't go for traditional sketching first. Maybe you can develop both side-by-side. It's up to you. In the end, you can choose whatever method you want to do. But the workflow, the learning curve will be very less if you've mastered the traditional design sketching. So in the next lesson, we will talk about what are the different types of soft tissues, the nipper. I'll see you in the next lesson. Take care and bye. 4. Sketchbook Pro or Procreate?: Hi guys, Welcome to this lecture. We are talking about Sketchbook Pro and procreate. You will be having a lot of doubts regarding Sketchbook Pro, and procreate. Which one should we select for design sketching primary tour? The answer is, both are really good softwares. So in this lecture, we will take a deep dive into these two softwares. And we'll see for this, procreate comes with $102 subscription, which is a onetime payment and orators case book price free, recently ordered as has made, Sketchbook Pro, publicly free. When it comes to user interface and user experience, both of these softwares, caddy a very minimal tools and workspaces. So it's very easy to access for both of the South case, but Procreate has more edge of our sketchbook Pro. When it comes to user experience. I'm talking about the iPad version or the desktop version. In desktop versions, Sketchbook Pro is the best. But when it comes to iPad, procreate is just made for iPad. Lot of jesters, they have integrated gesture controls and touching foods. But in Sketchbook Pro, they haven't made anything like that. When we compare, the purpose of book, procreate is more art-based. We can experts, designs and very artistically, but when it comes to Sketchbook Pro, it's more clean and minimal driven sketches that we can produce. On the other hand, procreate is resourceful for brushes. You can do at brands customization. In each brushes. There's a lot of scope to play with pressure sensitivity in Procreate. So it all depends upon your workflow. If you want to start off in Procreate, like I do, initial concept states, I tried to scribble, ideating, Procreate. Then I take those sketches into Sketchbook Pro and make it clean sketch out of it. I've been using Autodesk sketchbook for a long time. I used to be Autodesk Student Ambassador. So there are certain features that I Radiodurans, bro, and also in Procreate. And one thing I forgot to mention is that whatever brushes, watercolor palette that I created in Procreate can be shared with any other Procreate softwares. And it's true in Sketchbook Pro, desktop version, but I haven't defined any iPad version compatible with exporting different types of brushes and color palettes. If I have to tell you the X factor of Procreate's software, I would say that it is gesture control. We can control a lot of functions of procreate using your two fingers, three fingers as they drown. This would actually like reduce the lead time. And whatever sketch that you have in your mind can be produced easily using Procreate. For a creative person, like us, the initial idea consumption is very important. So whatever idea comes in your mind has to be put into a paper or a digital tool. So paper is very easy to put the idea, but when it comes to digital software, it takes time and it also kills creativity. Whiter idea that comes in, your mind will vanish in like say, 10 s. So it's all about putting your idea into the software fast. So in the end, It's your choice to choose whichever software you like. I do not like to stick to Sketchbook Pro, Procreate, even the concepts. Software is good, Affinity Designer is good. You can try those out. So everything the word pro demands. So whichever software that you would like to use depends on the purpose of your project, the ultimate goal of your design. So tied to explore a lot of soft trace before you make the decision of doing a project. But it's very important to master one, so two out of all the software, so I would recommend you to try or Procreate. I wish you all the best in the coming lesson. See you in the next lesson. Bye. 5. Parallel lines: Hi guys. Know that we have understood what is the necessity of warming up. Let's take a look at five different types of warming up exercises. First term we have parallel line warming up emphasizes is one of the famous exercise, not just in industrial design, but also in architecture, fashion, etc. So this is a very interesting exercise and video for Q2. So let me open the Procreate. You can find all these exercises in the download description resources. I strongly recommend to download all these templates before starting up this warming up exercises. So let me open the first exercise. This is battle line. So this is very easy. You need to try to draw lines equally spaced. Now let's create a new layer on the top of it and start doing strokes. Now, let's select a brush holds dreamland that's available in our hardest sketch brush pack. You can download from the resource section. Now I will choose it streamlined, British because that's my favorite. Now, let's set a brush size to 5% because that is more than sufficient for us. Now, let's get started. So I'll choose a white color or you can choose a black color if you want. And tried to draw on our layer. But before doing that, you need to change the opacity of her bottom layer. That's the layer that you hear in voted to our file. Now I'm pretty sure this guide would definitely be a good resource for you to begin with. Start drawing lines with greater ease and comfort. Same, the main point of this exercise is to calibrate your hand. So keep your arm, keep your hand flexible. You should not keep it very strained. For now. Don't worry about making the lines, the strokes perfect. You can draw straight lines overnight. If my memory is correct. It took me more than a week for mastering the straight lines. So don't punish yourself, don't be angry with you. So just go with the lines. This exercise is not just your board in brewing line quality and fluidity. It's also a word in brewing up patients. So at times you will feel really bored or impatient to finish this thing off like I did. I'm not that patient. I'm just demonstrating for your purpose. Now I press undo almost parallel line exercise. This is our first attempt. As you go for second and third attempt, your strokes will be more refined and more improved line quality. The whole idea of this lesson is to get used to Procreate an iPad, basically with our Apple Pencil. So upper surface can be very intimidating at first. For me, it was so slippery. I found very difficult to control my strokes. Sometimes it's slippers at, at the end. A lot of my students were asking me how to improve this experience. So I experiment with different kinds of Apple iPad screen protectors like matte screen protector and glossy screen got protector. So at the end what I did was I just remove all the protectors and start using Apple's natural inbuilt screen. Apple's iPad and Apple Pencil were designed for a purpose. So it's better to respect the designers thought and do not add anything extra to the surface. And at first, you will find doing an ice skating or an ice flow. So that's a key. Ipads, glass surface and Apple Pencil, silicone pinpoint has a good friction. So trust in that friction and start drawing. I'll see you the next lesson. Bye. 6. Growing Circles: Hi, welcome to the next exercise, growing circles. So now that we have gone through parallel line x is, let me introduce to the next lesson. It's growing circles. So let's get started. Now. Let's open our emulate in Procreate app. So I hope you guys have already downloaded the template resources from the download description. So let's open the Procreate and start growing, growing circle exercise. As we did in our first exercise. Let's add a new layer and reduce the opacity of the bottom layer. No, no, not this layer, the bottom layer. Okay. So all set. Now we are about to start drawing circles on our layer. So let's get started. Tip number one. Try to draw circles fastly confined in the radial lines. Don't stop or thing. Just draw it. The key aim should be to draw the circle is fastly within confined radial lungs. And don't worry if your circles turned to be lazy potato. That's okay. So we have all the canvas to practice. So this is just one row of growing circles. So if we make any mistakes, Let's repeat it in the next player. You might be wondering why we are doing particularly well. Set will subparts of complex geometries. Servers are also parts of cylinders. Hi, complex geometries, which is then combination of multiple geometries. This exercise enhances the fluidity of your lines. And in fact, it's said meditation. So take up all your frustrations into the sketching. Turn up your music bar, and then just do this. And it's as simple as that. You can always hold me. So mod whenever you feel too. It's so thin, right? Yeah. People who are really good in design sketching and they actually enjoy the process. So don't take this as a burden and start to enjoy the whole process and you will get to it. One important thing. Forgive yourself whenever you make a mistake. Start drawing again and again. If you get bored, just listen to the music and try it too. We did it. And you will find muscle nods disappearing from your pounds. That's what exactly this section is all about. Warming up. Just loosen up your arms and fingers like any yoga, stretching exercises. And as you progress through this exercise, try to make the circles more confined in the radial line. And this time, we need to dig perfection because this is the last round of the canvas. Here would also play with the pressure sensitivity of the brushes. I haven't tried in the World Series of this exercise. You're going to always drawn the circus that day out. Isn't it nice? I know. Df. Now see, when you connect all these circles together and it becomes a pipe. Design sketches all about connecting all these shapes to get the asserting construction lines. So here you go. I present you the growing circles exercise. Now I'll see you the next exercise. Take care, Bye. 7. Round and Round: Hi guys. Welcome to the third exercise of this warming up section, round and round. In this lesson, we'll try to emulate a set of circles on the way that we already have. So I hope you guys have already downloaded this template from our resources. Let's open an hour procreate canvas. Leg what we did in our previous two exercises. Let's create a new layer and reduce the opacity of the bottom layer perfectly to do that. Are you ready to start our third exercise in this section, round and round. So let's zoom in to a circle and try to draw a simpler on top of it. I know at first you won't get a perfect circle and that's okay. Let's try with that in the circle and tried to draw. Now let's speed up the sketching process. Tried to draw the circles fast as possible. I would definitely recommend you to try the ghost method of drying. Gross method of trying is very easy. Try to raise your arm, the war on gesture both the iPad and try to draw the sketch without touching your fingers. And make sure that the sketch that you drew is having two to three loops. So don't be satisfied with the Waterloo. Go over and over again on the same circle. This actually improves the fluidity and spontaneity of the circles. Why do you need is spontaneous? So tried to draw like a mad person. I want you to replace the mad person in your church to be fed. Ipad procreate has a certain feature in each. When you draw a circle, it will automatically convert diapers circle. I'm going to teach you in next step. So let's draw a circle and try to continue the loop. And when you are about to end the circle, tied to hold the circle for two or 3 s. That's it. Now you get a very good perfect circle. Now this feature of this software is very time-saving and useful. So I want to use this technique in your design sketching process. While drawing this circle is one thing you should take him. Try to lock the fore arm and do only in this case by rotating the whole arm. This actually gives you the word like, let's say for e-commerce here I have a point of center and we just draw the circle. So let's consider our arm SAP word in each have the elbow as the sender and tried to guy read the war all in one axis. And then you will get your perfect circle. That's it. Now, let's switch off the bottom layer and see the circles alone. See at the first circle all my strokes for having a trembled fear. So as I progressed, again, see the lines are getting confident and having more goods strokes. Or I need you from, is to draw sketches like a madman tried to emulate all the circles very fast and tied to keep it very fluid IQ in nature. This will help you throughout your design sketching journey. And I look forward to see you completed design sketches. So I see you in the next section. The next section, next lesson in which we'll be teaching you how to do dot connection exercises. So I see you in the next lesson. 8. Dot Connection: Hi. In this warming up exercise, we will take a look at DOT connection. You might have figured out by the name, it's two for this exercise. I don't have any templates for you. So it's easy acid. So what do you do? Now? Let's open the Procreate app and try to create a new Canvas. Mike picking on screen size. Step number one. Let's create some dots in our Canvas. So take a brush and brush size and try to poke in the Canvas and pick some dots. Let spread it out evenly or antimony te don't care. And try to draw lines between these dots. Let's try to create straight lines and dinner Nick into perfection. Now, just go with the flow. Maneuvering that the dots are over. Try creating new dots. Tried to connect it again with the existing dots. In the first phase of our strategy, we'll go with light pressure, okay? So tied to create state lands with light pressure and dry to connect the dots, filtrate through these things. That's it. Tried to fill this page with more dots and lines and I'll explain you what is it for? This is a very simple exercise that we used to do when we're in architecture, steroid use and industrial design studio. There is an actual embryo alum precision with the lines and strokes. Back in those days, we use true though this exercise using a normal A4 paper and the crystal Bic pen. Now, hoard sketching will look like a star concentration. And I want it to be like that only. So just continue doing this thing. And there's like a demonstration glass and you can follow it alone. So let's continue with this. So that looks like a promise. I'll tell you the purpose of this exercise. This is an exercise which will be useful for you while you create construction lines and parting line, connecting the lines of cubes, cuboids, and things like that. In the beginning, you're going to find to meet all these dots together in the same light. That's okay. Continue practicing. And one day you will get to it. So just follow these guidelines and these templates. Just practice and trust in yourself. That's all I can say. So in the next lesson, we will take a look at how to create infinite spokes. You might be wondering why I didn't want to tell you and destroy. I'll see you in the next lesson. Take care and bye. 9. Infinite Spokes: Hi, welcome to the last warming up exercise. It's called Infinite spokes. So less open your Procreate app and open the template that I had given you. You're going to find this template in the download section of the resources. Once you open the template called in France box, Let's create a new layer and start drawing. Before that, you need to set the layer to a less opacity. So let's take a brush, Let's take a stream line sketch burnish. That would be nice and tried to draw straight lines. So the sender, mind it, it has to be sender. But then again, don't worry, the first row things we want to be straight for you. And just like that, 123.4. So tried to create strokes radially through the sender. And at the end of each section of spokes. It look good. All right, at first you won't be able to pass these lines to the sender. Even if it's, let's say neg 0.5 or like 3M from the center. It is fine, is a good progress. Tried to draw more spokes and complete the canvas itself. Now let me tell you something. It will be very hard to tame lines in iPad. The reason is this. This, the iPad screen surfaces more slippery and the Apple pencil age, it'd be very difficult to entertain the lines. The reason is where the Apple pencil tip and the surface have less friction. So in every way too hard to control your lines. Then again, if you can cut and rolling this surface, you'd be able to create in any surface, even in your paper and pencil. It'll be very easy. So try to draw as many spokes as possible. Avoid indention of this exercise is to train your mind to become and get to mind to VM with TD state. I'm not joking. If something is going inside your mind, it will definitely reflect in your sketches. So be aware of that. Now, this is the procreate feature that I was talking. And when you draw a straight line and try to suppress the end point of the line, it will automatically convert or straighten that are in need, please, to press it for, let's say one or 2 s, then it will automatically be a straight line. This is the coolest feature of the Procreate. So that is why procreate is better than India. The software is in ampere. As you can see, with every spokes, your lines are getting even better. And by this, you don't have to stop. Maria. Try to do more spokes as you can. And by the end of this exercise, you will have a strong precision and you won't be able to create lines with such a nice. Now I have seen paper erasing, doing undo and redo of all straws. I don't recommend doing this things. You should be proud of the mistakes that you're making. Now, when you look back again at these pictures and sketches, you'll be really proud of your progress. And we should document this progress. And by looking at this thing, you will get motivation and try to do things more. Steps. Needs an interesting exercise in all the section. So as you draw lines, I would recommend you to the canvas. You can rotate the canvas at different angles according to your convenience. And that's okay. This is how industrial designers kits. And you should be able to draw a sketch. There's like an internal exam by the end of this course. Now all set, I would recommend you to complete the rest of the spokes like we did in these three spots, it would take you roughly around 10 min to complete. It should take 110 winnings and denote invest more time to a warming up exercise. His men to be really fast and precise. I hope you guys have learned a lot from these warming up exercise. And trust me, this exercise will be really helpful for you. And try to do this exercise before any design is Katie project. In the next section, we've tried to have him in device. We co-create an iPad. So I'll see you the next section. Take care. 10. Procreate Gallery and Manager: Hi, and welcome to the first lesson of our session, getting female rise to iPad and procreate. So I want to teach in a way that is going to get you using the software quickly and efficiently so that you can get to the design that you want to create. So let's dive right into it. When you first launch the software, you're going to see a collection of thumbnail. And of course you have your own companies which are designs that the software comes pre-loaded with. To the top-left, when you touch the appropriate name, you will get the version information and put the current software that you have been using. This is in fact our File Manager view. So don't look at this as an album. Look at it as a file management interface. For each thumbnail, they have a name and a resolution. So we will get into the resolution in a little bit. When you swap from right to left on any thumbnail, you are presented with some options. E.g. we have shared, duplicate, and daily. So when you click Share, you can export the image into Photoshop file for men. So it's just a symbol Jaipur. I'll allow you to literally copy that exact working by appropriate form. And it will show here when you duplicate the file, and of course when you delete it, it will delete that particular file, right? So what you can do as well as is when you press and hold or any particular image, you can move it around and rearrange your file. You can also drag a file on top of another file to create a stack. And that will then stack those two images together, creating a folder. And the name now changes to stack, though, even you can rename the folder. So when you go into the stack, you can see those two files. To take them out of a stack. We can press and hold, move up to the top left, to the word stack, to the back arrow, and then you can drop the files back into the system. However, the stack you created still exits. So you can see the other file is still in. After taking the last file out of the stack, the stack no longer exits. When you tap to the name underneath the thumbnail, you will be able to rename the file. Let me rename this file to the name shoes. Talk. Here you go. She's done. You can also scroll up and down through all your files by just tapping the display. So let's take a look at the options at the top right of the screen. It allows you to group, select, and do various things once you have selected those files. So let's stack these three files and see how it goes. Yeah, Here you go. Now that we are out on the Select menu, the menu will open up your Cloud storage and other storage locations where you can import various files, whether they are in Photoshop format or other supported Procreate format. You can import files through Dropbox cloud in any other location. So you have added. Now let's click Cancel a top-right and exit out of that and see the next option we have is the fourth option. And when you test for tow, it will also open up in your procreate app. You can use these photos as your friends images and underlays are in spaces so that you can utilize that to help you in creating your design. Now let me introduce an amazing feature of Procreate app. Okay, so with this feature, you can actually show your design works as a portfolio. So, so after selecting the images, just click on the preview mode and it will directly open to the portfolio more. So this is an amazing feature. With this, you can actually show off your work to your professors or clients and quickly embarrass them and communicate your idea. Let's take a look at how to create a new canvas. And Nicholas and I will see you there. Bye. 11. Creating a new Design sketch sheet and Canvas Settings: Well, I told you re, managing things in procreate is very easy. So now let's take a look at how to create our canvas to senza. Go ahead and hit the plus sign to the top right of the screen and it brings up the new Canvas window. We have few options here. We have Screen Size option at the top first. Then you have another options that I have been using in this iPad for long. So any images actually you create will be following these dimensions. Now, let's take a look at how to create a custom canvas. You can end up the values of the width and height and also the DPA from the number pad given below. Let's rename this canvas into A3 size file. So even though I already have an A3 file, I will just demonstrate it and how to create this A3 size. Right? Here you go, your new design sheet is ready. We should follow your custom size. Now whatever canvas is created which will appear on the Canvas menu, and you can use it anytime you procure. Now let's go ahead and create another canvas size now. This time an A4 size. Now specifying the dimensions. Yes, don't forget to name the Canvas. Otherwise it will create a mess out of your Canvas menu. Delete all the presets that you do not recur. And it's always a good practice to declutter your design workspace. So just go ahead and delete all the blank sheets that you find and it'll look nice. You can actually delete the canvas by just flipping to the left and click Delete. So in the next lesson, we will try to create a new custom Canvas and we'll go more deeply into it. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 12. Procreate User Interface: Now we're going to take a look at the overall interface when you are working in a document. So let's add the plus sign and open any process to get into main work interfacing. We will start at the top-left. The first one we have a gallery button, and that'll take us back to the File Manager. And next to that we have a spanner icon and that opens a lot of sub menus. We will explore these menus in following lessons. Next to that, we have a random beacon and that opens up the adjustment menu. Then after that we have the selection icon, which will bring up a selection renew at the bottom of the screen. Next to that we have a mouse pointer I like I can. This will help you to move around your designs in your Canvas. Then at the top right we have the paintbrush icon. And when we test this again, it will open up our brush library. Next to that, we have the smudge tool and the eraser tool. If you touch each of these again, you will once again open up the British Library. And we can see that all these brush library is shared between brushes, margins and eraser. And that's the best features of Procreate software. And according to our needs, we can just change the nature of the brush. When you test that to square icons, it will open up the Layers panel and add the circular. The top-right opens up the color picker panel, which we deep dive. And you can see to control bands, which is located at the left side of your interface. This is actually to control the brush size and brush opacity. In the middle you can see a square icon. This is actually a color picker. And we'll go into that later. And at the bottom of that control bar, you have to arrow icons, one to the left and one to the right. It's actually an undo and redo. If you slide your finger from the outset of the display over this curve, but then you can actually move the control bar into a proposition or the node position. I'll just keep it at the middle because it's easier for me to access. And we will take a look at some other things such as navigations. And of course we will deep dive into each of these. I'll see you in the next lesson. 13. Navigating your Design sketch: Rotation, Navigation and Zoom: One of the great things about Procreate is that it is very touchy oriented, which negates the use of a keyboard that you really need to achieve levels of spirits in any other software. And so what we're going to do now is going to take a look at how to navigate our Canvas using touch. Okay? So when you put two fingers on the canvas, you are now able to move your images around the image area. And when you pinch, you can zoom. And when you pinch and zoom out with your two fingers, you can actually rotate your canvas vertically and procreate will adjust to being in a portrait orientation. Of course, you can rotate to keep it at various angles that can be adjusted, obviously based on what you're trying to draw or the arm that you use when you are drawing, I actually keep a default fair degree angles and it gives me a natural stroke while drawing design, while descends hitting. It's natural that we zoom in a lot and we want to return to a normal position. You have to fit the image into a view. This can be done quickly by just pinching it very fast. And this is how we naggy. And this is how we navigate our Canvas. You can also try different options. We will take a more in-depth lessons about Procreate, just as in the upcoming sections. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 14. Setting up Procreate Gestures: Hi, welcome to the section two, and in this module, we'll get to learn how we can really get into the grips with the brushes and the penalties of the tools and the software to utilize procreate for our drawings and our paintings. But before we start, that is important that we set up our gesture control because procreate is so touch or indent. So I'm going to give you a set of recommended justice that I will use throughout the course that I think will produce the most efficient work environment for you as you're drawing and painting in the software. So first let's move to the top left of our Canvas and we will see spanner icon. Then click press button the top of that and scroll to the bottom, you'll see the gesture control buttons click that. And it's going to bring up their gesture control panel. And what we are going to do is we're going to go through each of these and grab your iPad. Let's go through this together. So we're going to replicate the same setting I'll be using throughout this course so that we can have the same experience. The first thing I want to do is on the Smart section to the left, we want to make sure every icon that is off from touched to Apple pencil to the square plus Apple pencil. Let's turn or off. We will do the same thing for the eraser section. And we'll do the same thing for the assisted drawing section as well as for the Eyedropper section, we want to have ten scores on patch of skier and touch on square and upper fence lawn. And then we can touch and hold off. But you can replicate this delay option if you wish for when you do turn, touch and hold or the eye dropper, and don't worry about it, we will detail the eyedropper tool. Let's move to the QC menu. Here we want to everything off except the second option, which is touch, which is a finger touch will invoke. You can add new and touch and hold option can be on as holding a finger on the Canvas will invoke QC and set that to N nought 0.6, 666. And we can move to the full screen option. Here the option we want is the bottom of four-fingered tap, tapping with four fingers will target the full screen. What full-screen does it is removed all the user interface elements so that you can have a UI preview of your work. You can tap a game of four fingers to bring back. And let's move to the clip play option. So the only option we will have on his scrolling back and forth, fingers clear the layer. That's the first option we can keep that on. It's moved to the copy and paste options. We are ready every option of extra for the three-finger swipe option, which is the fifth from the top option. And it is swiping down with three fingers, which will involve the options. And don't worry about it. We'll cover this later in the course. Let's move on to the layer select section. We want to have every option off. And last but not least, let's head to the general action section here. We want to have it to rotate with pinch and zoom or disables the touch action off of causing the general option and Harrier, you will also see the Reset to Default button. So if you want, use procreate defaults and later on, please do Reset to default. I will advice really messing around with these options after the course because you may find that it's very subjective thing and that you prefer certain tests just has to work in a particular way. Then that's that for this lesson, I'll see you guys in the next lesson. Bye. 15. Procreate Brushes Basics: Brush Tool, Eraser, Smudge: Hi, we are now ready to deep dive into the actual reason why we are using Procreate in the first place. And that is to draw and paint in our Procreate software. Typically, our main drawing tools are either splitting into multiple types, told where you have a pin tool and a market Tool, Paintbrush tool, or a single term that has multiple brushes to eat. Procreate is actually good in this part. If you go to the top right of the display, we can see the paintbrush icon. Next to that we have the smarts and eraser icon as well. When we send this paintbrush back on, we will be opened up and brush panel. And on the left-hand side, we have some categories of brushes. And on the right we have the subcategories of the same brushes. So we are in the pain teen category now. We have oil, praying brush, turpentine brush, larger round brush, acrylic brush, so forth. The best thing about this brush library is that this is shared by all the three tools. That is brush tool, Smudge tool, any receptor. So all in all you will have uniformity in your sketches and paintings. The left side of the brush library, you can see a lot of brushes, code brushes, sketching brushes, calligraphic brushes, add brushes. So I would recommend you to try and open and tied to experiment with all the brushes. Nobody is going to stop you. Now let's test out one brush. Let's select a round brush and tap on the right top corner circle. That will open up my colors panel. And we have celebrated yellow color for now. Now let's start creating the carlos and let's make some marks and try to get into the field of the brush. This is very important when you're experimenting with a new underline. Unless you have explored the potential of the brush, there is no use. So I will recommend you to try to scribble pain, whatever you do, just try to experiment with here. So now let's select smudge tool and select a brush. Let's go with the fresco brush and try to draw on the top of the painting that you have a creator and trying to smarts yeah, like that. Now we know how to spot. So you can play with the opacity, like pay experimenting with opacity and try to see the result. Yeah, like that. So this is a very good way to explore the potential of smudge tool brushes. This is just one brush. Those are like hundreds of brushes available in Brush Library. Tried to explain it, all kinds of brushes. And it's really fun, right? And again, erase too anytime. So again, select amperage for eraser tool. I think it's round brush that I selected. So whatever brush you to try to reduce the opacity and size of the brush and try to experiment. Okay, now let's take a look at how the sliders works. Okay? So top left side of the slider is for using to control the size of the brush and bottom bar to reduce the opacity of the brush. And this way you can get strokes of different brush thickness and sensitivity. So try to experiment with these sliders and see for yourself. This is an excellent tool to burn you wish and do a realistic image. Try experimenting with all the brush sensitive day and opacity. Now let me demonstrate again these tools so that you will get a grasp of what we're going to do. So let's select a brush and try to do these strokes. Again. It's reducing opacity and pressure sensitivity. So try to blend in with the background. The best thing about the Procreate is menu. Drag down the bottom slide. On top slide you'll get a visual representation of how your brush thickness and brush opacity will look like. This is a good reference when you're trying to design our sketch. And now we'll select a round brush and tried to erase this painting that you haven't done. So there are a couple of ways you can undo or redo the strokes. And the bottom of the opacity slider, you have left and right arrows, which indicates undo and redo acre. By pressing need, you can undo or redo. The other way is to use Procreate just is just tap with two fingers to undo and tap with three fingers to redo all the provenance to like this. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 16. Brush Categories and Advanced Brush options: Now let's take a deep dive into Procreate's brush system. We know on the left we have our categories of tools. And on the right we have the brushes themselves. And sometimes you will notice with Procreate is that often a lot of menu options are hidden behind some certain justice. And this is the best thing about Procreate is UI UX. For the egg e.g. if we wanted to create your own subcategory of your own grouping of brushes. What you can do is just swap down on the catering menu and you will reveal a plus icon in the category section. You hit the plus icon. It will give you the ability to create a new set of brushes. That's the coolest thing for now, right? You can always name the category. And of course it has no bridges in it. So let's go into the Sketching category and z bar we can do with these existing brushes over here. When you swipe right onto one of these brushes, you are presented with three options. Share, duplicate and reset. Let's explore the brush duplicate and set the options will be the if you're motivated default brush in the software, you want to send it to back to its default state, right? So when you swipe right on these brushes, you will get these options. Typically you will be customizing the existing brushes in Procreate and modifying them to suit your needs if you want to take it to the next level. The reason I said that this pocket has a very wide variety of brushes that really showed, showed 95% Azure, so any design is near. Plus, we're going to also go online and find hundreds, if not thousands of ready-made brush packs made by other designers. So that is not so much customization really need to do in this regard. Now, when you turn on a brush, again, you open the brush advance option and this menu is really going to terrify. Nevertheless, it's a tile and other region at the bottom, you have different venues which will present you with different sliders and different options for modifying the intense detail of how your brush works. We're really not going go too deep into this right now. We'll take a look at later. But you just know that there is endless customization available for each precious. And so if you do come into this menu section and modify these parameters, and then you'll find you have messed up this technique and pencil here. So e.g. you can just swipe right and then hit the reset button to reset those options. Now if we want to create a brush from scratch, which you can do is just hit plus a plus sign at the top of this window. And you can then name your brush into shapes from images and select different options here to create your own brushes. We'll take a look at this later on. But not least, when you wanted to bring brushes into your own category. I'm going to duplicate this technique here, the pencil over here. When IT person halls. I'm going to drag it to the our huddle section. Now, the category. Now I have the technical pencil. So if you go back to my custom brushes over here, I have my pencil brush in getting flattening, SkyBridge soft brush. These were all more different from the sketching and painting versus categories of Procreate. Then brought into my custom criteria at the bottom here. And typically these other brushes I use, you will have access to these as well as the video and how to install them. 17. Importing Brushes into Procreate: Hi. In this lesson we will take a look at how to embed brush sets into our procreate. So we can do it in a couple of ways. One way is to open our brush set in the iCloud Drive or your iPad, or even in your Google Drive. So after downloading the verse head from a resource section, save it in these locations. I have my huddles which sit in our bottles folder. Now, let's go ahead and click on hurdle, sketch, brushes, brush set. After that is imported into your procreate software. You can have a look at your brush library and you can see various hurdles sketch brushes set. So I already have one set. So you can see a duplicate version of same, but when you download from the resource section, it comes in a zip file. So I would recommend you to unsaved before uploading into iCloud Drive or renewed drive. Because in iPad to unzip it dividend if you can. In the next lesson, we will take that color picker in Procreate. So see you in the next lesson. Bye. 18. Color picker in procreate style: We are now going to take a look at the color pick tour. So if you go to the top right of your interface and you can hit the color circle. You will open up the color pen. And the current panel is split into four categories which are identified. And the bottom, we have the disk category which we are now. And is the normal default category, the classic category value. Then at the top of the desk category we can see can have a little color block section with two colors in it. And the left-hand color is the currently selected color, which is a very, very light yellow color. And on the right hand side we have the new deselected color and that will change as we move around this interface. Now speaking of this interface, we have an outer ring and this ordering is our shoot selection, really the technical term for color in a sense. And the inner circle allows us to add white or black to the selected hue or add more gray or less gray. And the technical term for this would be increasing the value by adding more white and decreasing the value by adding more black, making it darker or adding more great to decelerate the color and getting less gray to saturate the color. Now below these rings we have a color palette area. Currently, this is my skin palette that I've created. And we will look more into these categories. Nevertheless, when you select a particular hue value and saturation, you can enter into this area to instantly add the color. When you can do as well as you can press and hold and drag to move it around. You can press and hold it to let the delete option up here. Then you can delete and remove that color from that particular palette. Let's move on to the classic view. Modern day digital art software, particularly on PC, often features. So this is verse saturation in Valley area. And this is the one here in blue slider at the bottom for the hue. And so what you can do is select you here with the bottom and then invades the decreasing value by moving up and down and increase or decrease the saturation by moving left or right. But in addition to this, it also gives you sliders. If you want more precise control and see the things for yourself and do the movement for you, and then you can actually just utilize the slightest. Again, we have the color palette here that you can add your selected color into. And let's go to the page and gives you huge saturation and value separated slider as well as our RGB ranges, red, green, and blue color ranges that you can modify independently. So you also have a hexadecimal box, where when you tap into that hexadecimal number, you will be able to add hexadecimal codes if you're familiar with web development, it is essentially a court system to achieve various colors. Someone can give you the hexadecimal code for a particular kernel and you can type it in here and it will give you that heck, exact color. And then you can add it to your palettes. Let's go to the section of iconic, and let's see the palettes here and there are defaults in Procreate. You can create an unlimited number of pallets for yourself. You're going to also then touch the default butter to make your palate the default palette. So e.g. if I click set to default to this icon and I go to my desk and you can see that this palette is my default palette. So examples of palindromic create will be like a skin tone color, Let's say, for a stainless steel texture. Or you can see different theme colors. So all you have to do is just plus sign and the top right of the palette window to create a new palette. And here we have it over here. It's called an untitled palette. I can press and hold to rearrange, and I can tap into to name to rename it is this call is one knee. Then what I can do is five, right? If I want to delete that pallet or export and share a palette. This process of exporting and importing pilots work the same as it does for brushes. Now, in addition to this, Let's go back to our desk view, which is our typical view. Now, we can talk about the square. But in between our size layer, opacity slider, the brush size slider, and the slider we have a small rectangle. How small square? Icon. So let's select then if you press and hold that butter, your turn to display, you will see color picking green. You press and hold. And you can see that the color will change as you drag it across the image. When you let go, the color at the top right, it will change as you press and hold that square up and down and tap. You will see that the color changes to every news on the remote to here we can color pick the colors in the malls and dark gray appears. So that's it for this lesson. I'll see you in the next lesson. Take care. Bye. 19. Color Picking and Blending Paint in Procreate: Hi guys. Welcome to the last lesson of this section. Color picking and blending paints in Procreate. So we're going to take a look at how to utilize a color pick, but turned as well as our brushes to create smooth, natural planes that are very useful for us when you are painting. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to go to my brushes menu and select the paint category, hence the vector round brush. Then I'm going to my color picker and began nice bright red. And so what I will do is just adjust my brush size here. I'm going to just put some paint and I'm going to press really hard to get a nice solid below both green color onto the canvas and analysis to blue. Maybe you can go with the yellow. Okay, I'll think I'll go with yellow. So let's take the yellow color from the palette and try to draw the same kind of strokes. Just like using the brush. Make a brawl both yellow color. Now, what do you want to do is bend these two colors. How can we do that? Let's take a brush and start overlapping with the local Nessie with less opacity as less pressure. So you can see they are local. It is transition into the green. And if you want to make it smarter, what we'll do now, this Let's erase some of the yellow line, yellow color. Then try using the smudge brush. Let's select Smart Verge and select the same kind of British. Then try to do the same on the top of it. And you can create a smooth transition from yellow to green. That's it. Now this is a crucial skill that you need to dialogue. When you have solar surface, then you need to give a transition, say less from white to dark gray, or even some highlights. You can use the same technique. You can also use color picker to select the colors near this border of the ulna in green and tried to do some strokes and try to blend in. Monkey. That's it. And it's good to improvise in the middle. And whatever things I'm teaching you, you should not do the same like that. You can embrace in-between. So that's all about this lesson. I'll see you in the next section, which is layering in design sketching. I look forward to it. See you, bye. 20. Basic Understanding of Layers in Procreate: Hi guys, Welcome to the module five, layering in design sketching. In this section, we'll be talking more about layers and how you can manipulate layers. If you aren't familiar with what layers are effectively, just think them off as transparent sheets stacked one on top of another. We can put different things on each layer. You can put your sketches, you can put your colors, so you can put your shading or even labels and backgrounds. E.g. when my layer may have a line outline, and then on the top of that, you might have a flat color. So mesoglea, this section is the most interesting section. We'll be talking more about how to utilize these features of layers and how you can achieve a final quality render or producing certain features of flavor malt. Are you ready for this module? So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 21. Layers Panel Overview: Creating, Grouping and Organizing: Hi. Now let's take a deep look at procreates layer panel at the top right of your screen. And you will see small blocks. You can tap those and it will open up the Layers panel. Unlike most of the things in Procreate, it comes with an auto features menu accuracy. You don't see any features, but trust me, when you open it and you will get to know. Let's learn this thing in this lesson. First thing that you'll notice is a plus sign to the right of the layers panel. Okay, So if you tap that, it will simply add more layers and elbow you're currently selected layer. So when you look at the individual layer, you can actually see a small symbol n and the little tick box at the far right. For now, let's focus on the checkbox. When you tap on this check box, you can actually toggle its visibility. So don't worry that your layer is not going to permanently delete or whatever. It's going to stay in your layers panel forever. Now let's take a look at background color layer is a layer that's comes pre-loaded with the new template that we created. So tolling its visibility on or off, you can actually create a transparent artwork or design. Also, you can change the colors of background to created or anything that will actually accentuates your dramatic Pharaoh design. I usually keep gray, white, or black for the background. It's up to you. You can choose any color I personally find gay as say, suiting neutral color for arise. Because we are working on this project for long. So it had to take care of your eyes. So I basically keep it gray. After long pressing on your layer, you can actually move around this layer to the top of the other layers, the bottom of the other layers. So every now and then we'll have to move one part of your design to another position. Or we'll just have to toggle the visibility or on or off. So this is a really good tool. I would appreciate you to explore different options in this layer option and just move it around and see for yourself how you can use this tool in your design browsers. When you swipe the selected layer, you will be presented with three options. So when it's locked and duplicate and delete. So when you tap on the law, all the contents in that layer will be protected from deletion. And it's a very good tool. Whenever you make it a friend's drawing or clean sketch, I would recommend you to lock this layer so that all the condensing your layer will stay intact and you will be thanking me later. So this is all a layer structure in creating groups and organising. I'll see you in the next lesson. I really recommend you follow this method and it will be very beneficial for you. See you in the next lesson. Bye. 22. The Move Tool: Moving Elements on a Layer: When you start ideating your designs in iPad procreate, you will have the need to move around your designs in the shade. So it will be obeying the golden rules of composition. So how do you do is, let's take a look at our Layers panel. Select the layers that you want to move around and transform. And after that, you can see an optional Freeform, Uniform Distort and brass section. So according to your need, select the option. Here I have taken free form and I have taken the outline sketch of the design. So as you can see, you can move around easily when you try to pick up the corner, it will move uniformly. And if you select circles at the sides of the box, it will be skewed non-uniform. So that's all for this lesson. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 23. Selecting and Grouping Multiple Layers: Before we get into individual layer options, Let's take a look at how we can select and group multiple layers at once. And so how we do this? First select the layer that we want to start with and start swiping from the left to right and continue doing it for the bottom layers too. You will be presented with two options. One is delete and group. They said the top of the panel. Once you tap on the Group icon, all the selected layers will be grouped together. Now that we have made a group, it's very easy to manipulate all the condensin and group C by tapping on that mode, which is an advocate, can easily transform all the cadenza and grew easily. You can transform into Freeform, Uniform, Distort, or even brag. That's it guys. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 24. Locking Layer Transparency with Alpha Lock: In this lesson, we are now going to explore an option called Alpha Lock, which is really one of the most useful options in digital art software. Let's take this example, Logitech Hyperion fury gaming mouse design sketch. Now we want to change the color of the mouse. How can we do this? Let me demonstrate two cases. One we thought alpha lock and one with alpha. Now, let's select a color and tried to draw using in British and see all the colors have been bleeding out of the sheep. Now is let's select Alpha Lock option by tapping on the layer and select Alpha Lock. So now let's see how painting goes with Atlanta. Hello. Let's take a brush and start painting. Now that you can see all the colors that we have been drawing you saw confined to the basic shape that we have. Isn't it really cool? The sketch already comes with tight corners and edges. And to re-size colors, we need to reduce the brush size every now and then. So it's very inconvenient for us. This is where Alpha Locks comes to play. Now let's take another example. This time we have S and high salary or form. I'll tied to change the color of the year for doing green color. And show you how it's possible with alpha. Let's go to our layer structure hierarchy and select Base Color and select layer and paint. Select a green color from the Layer menu and rotate your canvas to here, 45 degree angle, whichever comfortable position you want. And try stroking. Yeah, that's it. How the color is being an Alpha Lock mask. No colors bleeding out of the shape. So this is the X factor of the Alpha Lock feature. Well now that I'm happy because you have learned and ultimate feature of Procreate app. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 25. Understanding Layer Masks: We are now going to take a look at what a layer mask is. Layer Mask is one of the most basic tools at same time, it's also confusing, especially for beginners. So a layer mask is actually a non-destructive way to make it part of layer visible or invisible. Basically, it's a way to help you erase elements without actually raising the cancer rate essay or physical mask. When you wear a mask, your lips, your nose won't be seen. Dislike that the concept of layer mask is symbol. Let's take this example. We have as an Acer, your four. Let's say we want to change the color of the ear bud, but we don't want to destroy it. So what can we do? That study symbol, create a layer mask by tapping on the layer. And a new layer will be appear. And what do you have to do is just select any brushes and try drawing with white or black color. The black color actually hides the design sketch which is below. And white color actually ravines. So try experiment with brushes of different sensitivity D and see it for yourself. With a soft brush, the impact will be less. The main advantage of layer mask is you can actually retain certain features of your design and your time records. You can actually reveal it. So Layer Mask is a great tool and it is most important weapon in our arsenal. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 26. Learning about Reference Layers and ColorDrop Fills: Now we will take a look at procreates reference layer feature. And it's colored drop feature. To what a reference feature is actually, is we have one layer and offensive another. So this layer will actually tell the other layers take, Hey boy, you have to refer me when you do something. Now we have a perspective, elites, kids that we have drawn. So let's create a layer on the top of this layer and set this sketch layer actually as a reference layer menu. And you tap on the layer and select a reference that our friends will be displayed below the layer name. So now we have created a reference layer, will see dropping these colors, selected one color. So let me first name the layer. The layer let me limit as outlined, and the layer which you want to drop the colors as Carlos. One thing you guys have to know TAC is that this feature to work, you need to have very clean outline and all the lines should be closed. Now let's try and drop some corners onto the closed outlines. As you can see, the colors are already filled successfully. Distribute successful. You need to have clean outlines in your designs. I will add some more colors to demonstrate. Now that you can see these are very easy and useful tool for Procreate. And always keep in mind that the layer above that reference layer is the layer that you will want to do your color. This widget is actually useful if you have already made a file in Adobe Illustrator, and if you want to bring the vector file to Procreate I'm color, then you should go for this feature. That's it for this lesson. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 27. Using the Touch Quick Menu: Because of the way we have set up our existence when we started the brush module, we now have the option to access a touch. Whenever they touch with our fingers on the display. And procreate is able to differentiate between a pencil input or touching food, which is really great because it allows us to do dynamic things like this. Now, we have opened up a menu that gives us the option to flip vertically and flip horizontally or create any layer. I will demonstrate how to do this. Okay? So primarily we will be using flip horizontally or flip vertical line. For designers like us is extremely useful. Particularly when you are drawing to make sure that you're not getting too used to seeing that image in front of you. So I haven't designs case with me. He's from Logitech Hyperion Fourier series mouse. A gaming mouse is actually often I can get stuck in this particular mode or particular viewpoint where my, I guess I'm very used to seeing this product in this particular course. And what really happens is I stopped seeing my mistakes. And so traditional artists would use a mirror to look at their work and an opposing view, right? View. And what we do is simply flip this and see our mistakes and we identify where we went wrong. And then we can correct it and this end, then you can flip it back again. So it's a great tool. And I would recommend everyone to start using these tricks like a traditional artists have done. We have to take the essence of the traditional art and tried to replicate in the digital version. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 28. Cut, Copy and Paste Layer Contents: Quick Gesture: In this lesson, we will learn about Qc justice for cutting, copying and pasting elements on layers. Of course, we will utilize this gesture a lot when we deal with selections, which we'll take a look at in the next motor. So what we're going to do is we're simply going to take three fingers and swipe up over our image. This will give us Cut Copy, Paste options for our current layer. If you go Copy all, you copy everything, all the layers. And here you can see the shortcut as well. When you attach the paste icon, your provider with the options of Freeform Uniform, this tunnel wrap transformations. This way if you have more concepts, we can actually transform it and place it in different parts of your Canvas so we can easily create a design board. Now, that's all about features of Cook justice. And in the next lesson we will take a look at how to embed your majors and designs into your Canvas. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye. 29. Importing Images and Artwork into your Canvas: Hi, let's now take a look at importing images and drawings into procreate canvas. And what we can do is, let's create a new file by tapping the Plus sign. And this click the wrench icon. And you can find at this click Insert a file. For me. It came directly into my iCloud Drive. You can actually change the locations by tapping on the locations. You're going find your iPad file system, Google Drive, OneDrive. So it's up to you. Whatever images designs you have in those times you can actually import into procreate very easily. All we have to do is just link the accounts in your iPad. So right now I'm embodying in background file. When you insert a file you're presented with its transformation tools like Freeform, Uniform, Distort, and wrapped. So you can actually feed the background according to your needs. Now let's try importing a photo. Again, the same range icon steps. Tap a photo that you want to import, and you are already presented with the same options. You can uniformly scale and according to your needs, you can fit your texture images. Now guys, this is the end of the layer module section and your weight is over. Now we will be learning how to sketch a water bottle, and then we will be demonstrating all things that we have learned so far. So I'll see you in the next section. Bye. 30. Create a rough sketch: Hi. Now it's finally time to demonstrate whatever things we have learned so far in the previous section. I know it's quite boring to you to listen to all basic, fundamental stuff. Now, let's create a new canvas and start with getting some concepts. Let me change the color of my background to something darker. So I preferably take VIA as main backer because it's easy for our eyes. Now for a desire to start something from scratch, it can be quite frustrating. So I at least start sketching with drawing some margins are on all the sides of the canvas and tried to get the hang of sketching. I will recommend you to start doing the warm-up exercises just before your first initial sketches. We goes. Whenever you start sketching, you may not get the right formula, right shape. So it's quite necessary to take some warm-up exercises to calibrate your hand. To draw that stayed lens. You have to use the technique that I had taught you in the previous section. So whatever sloppy, curvy sketches that you have drawn, it will be automatically converted to straight line. Isn't it a cool feature? Now to draw a product like waterboarding? First thing that come to our mind is major axis. So let's create some major axis line on which the wall form will be centered around. Waterboarding comes with the cylindrical shape. So let's go with some ellipse to draw or water bottle product. So you don't have to be perfect in what you're drawing. Just go with the flow. The main agenda of this lesson is to create more iterations of the descent. Get whatever thing is in your head to your paper. It's our ipad. Digital platform is similar to traditional platform. You don't have to fear or worry about digital illustration platform. The reason is that you can make n number of mistakes and still you can erase or, you know, rectified. Role of industrial design is that we won't erase any sketch lines, whatever we had drawn. It will be converted to a layer which will have a less opacity. So the idea is to keep growing your lines smoothly, more fluid and in good quality. And it's a good practice to orbit your canvas in 45-degree angle, water position, your hand is more comfortable. Often our first iteration would end up really messy. Or whatever sketches that you had drawn didn't show any justice to our image in our head. So don't worry, this is not the end of the world. So just keep growing another one to the right side of the bottle that you have made. So let's start creating more designs, more designs, more iteration. By iteration, most satisfaction and more happiness. Now that we have created second hydration, it's time to create another iteration. So what do you need to take care is try to create different ideas in each iterations. Okay? So in one nitration, the height of the water may differ than other. The base might be a little wider. To keep experimenting, keep trying new ideas and new opportunities. And and by the end of the war nitration process, you will be happy and satisfied. As you have learned from this lesson that ellipse is the most important building block of a water bottle design. And never leave any blank spaces in your design sheet. Tried to hydrate, try to ideate more designs in every inch of your canvas. Now that we have learned how to create iterations in a canvas, is time to do another process. This is the most important and most used by product designers, interior designers, all over the world. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 31. 2 Using an existing product as Underlay: Now it's time to introduce an important technique using an existing product has an underlay. This is a very famous technique used by industrial designers all over the world. So I'm going to import a water bottle images that I have downloaded from amazon.com. So main agenda of this lesson is to take references from an existing product and I treat idea on top of it. As Yossi, I have opened our template in which you have folders arranged in structure hierarchy. So I'm going to place our imported image in base color folder. Now let's reduce the opacity of our Insert already made so that we can draw on top of it without any disturbance. So let's see. First thing that you have to take care when you drawing a new product is to start drawing major axis line. So let's draw a major axis line. And then after that, we will try to divide the product into different parts. So let's say for a bottle we have a top and we have a neck. Even the top has a sub-component. So let's divide the top into two. So the top portion of the top is a flap. Divide. The other features of the water bottle, like send off the waterboarded has some groups. When you observe closely, you will notice that there are some patterns, some textures going through the surface water bottle. So our main purpose of this lesson is to identify all these minute details and try to learn from it. These are the techniques used by industrial designers at the earlier phase, like when you're starting to draw sketches in industrial design. Now, let me introduce a technique called Drawing Guide. So when you open Drawing Guide, you can actually use a symmetrical option. So let's make a symmetrical line along our major axis. The main advantage of this technique is water we are drawing on one side, will be automatically replicated to the other side. When we switch on the drawing guide, it will be automatically assigned to a layer selected. And the bottom of the layer name, you will be able to see an option assisted. Also keep the layer option to multiply. For a kid who's just starting with riding bicycle, they will have a helping me. Likewise, this course will be helping me for you. Now that we have drawn all the segments dividing the major axis, less does the symmetry feature of procreate. Sometimes we feel that the symmetrical activity is not at the sender. So you can always stay in the position of symmetrical axis and tried to test their symmetrical axis feature. Now let's draw the edges of the water bottle. And you can see what are we draw on one side is getting replicated to the other side. Sometimes you failed that certain features of the water bottle or nonsymmetric. So just leave that portion. We will draw once the option of Assist is suited off. Now, let me turn off the visibility of our reference layer and let's proceed sketching. I always recommend you to start sketching in iPad by opening this video and demonstration. That will be a good practice. So we will continue this lesson in the next part. I'll see you in the next part by hi, Welcome to the second part of our lesson, creating sketches using existing product as an underlay. In the first part of our lesson, we have created a simple outline of a water bottle. Now let's darken the edges of the water board. So let's continue. The whole idea of this exercise is to appreciate this product and understand each designers minute details and how he ever cheered the design qualities. With this practice, you are a Celtic language or your design language will be more refined and we'll start to appreciate a good product. Now, let's turn the background into a white color. I usually toggle the visibility on and off. I will change my color to white and black. I wouldn't know when that. This actually helps me to see the design sketch in different angle from a different perspective. And it will help me to identify my mistakes. Now let's merge down all the sketch layers and make a copy of our existing design. Let's keep this sketch to the left side of the screen. We make some space for creating a new sketch. And the beauty of these Procreate is that once you created a scale, you can always duplicate and start creating another iteration on the top of our. Now let's reduce the opacity of our copied layer and start sketching a new iteration. And now that we have a reference case, it's easy to draw on the top of it. So some people would say this is like a tracing method, but I strongly disagree. And to be a good industrial designer, you have to be really smart and a bore. You need to deliver the outbursts in time. And key to successful industrial design iterations are one, experiment with lot of lines to try out different shapes and forms. Three, repeat the first two rules. Hey, I'm not kidding. You had to work really hard to attain these skills. And at first you may find your lines to be very sloppy. That's okay. You just have to believe in yourself and try your best. And one day, drawing these kinds of products will be piece of cake for you. In the next lesson, we will look at how to create thumbnail images, which is actually a crucial part of inducer design process. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 32. Explore more Concepts: Hi. In this lesson, we will try some iterations with color. And this time we have to be really quick to color the designs. So starting with, I'm just catching some water bottles, like in the previous lesson. Is this a continuous SHA-1 hashes in all these processes in our previous lesson. And I'm just fast-forwarding all these things. The key is to either trade more designs with procreate and iPad and try creating new canvas and sketch new things. And when you feel like saturated, to create another canvas and start drawing again. Repeat this process again and again. And when you feel that your ideas coming into reality is start darkening the strokes along the periphery of the product. And this will induce the product a popping out of the canvas. Industrial designers language. This is what we call line weight. So line weight, we will look into it in our next course. And the next course, we're going to deep dive into the fundamentals of design sketching. And I am pretty confident that you guys will enjoy the learning experience. As you can see how I selected a green color and I use a brush technique to do my job. Basically, coloring is done with air brush tool and eraser. Some designers don't like to erase. And that's okay. I have seen some industrial designers just dropping in color to a perfectly drawn outline skates. And that's their style and workflow. When I drove, I try not to keep it neat. I just draw with lots of colors. Sometimes it bleeds out of this case. And that's okay for me. Because creative ideas and nothing to be tamed. Try giving depths to our product using a brush. Now you can understand why design sketching is. It'll actually take us back to our childhood where we used to call a lot of cartoon characters, magazine, it crayons and sketch pens. So for me, engaging in design, sketching is and nostalgic feeling. And you should use white color airbrush wherever you recur to give a shiny fractions on our surface of the product. Let's select that as sine, which is located at the top-left of our canvas. And with this feature, you can move around your drone product to anywhere in the Canvas. Trying different colors is always fun. So keep trying. So a word of advice for you guys is try to explore all the features in Procreate and find what works for you and what works not for you. In the next lesson, we will look into how to play in a best-case and then get our sketch ready for coloring. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 33. Make thumbnail images: Hi, welcome to the lesson how to make thumbnail images in designs kitchen. Thumbnail images are important parts of the science kits in process. It's actually not used for just filling up our design page. Thumbnail images adds up to the ovary of our design process. So thumbnail images comes with different views, different angles, side view, rear view, top view. So we can actually have a total overview of our design process. So I'm going to duplicate our old lesson file and keep the other nitration hidden. The best way to work on thumbnail images is to create a copy of our previous design. Tried to reduce the size and reduce the opacity of the layer and start drawing new ideas and new sketches. These sketches are stepping stones for more elaborative sketches. So just take it casually and row lot of designs making copies. And that's how you do thumbnail images. Whatever sketches we do, we have to do it in wireframe sketch folder. This for organizing different layers so that when you want to search for something, you can find it easily. In the next section, we will be actually doing a lot of coloring, shading and highlights. So now then only you will get to know Hawaii. It is so important to organize your layers in a structured way. Mostly the millimeters are placed to the left, right, top, bottom of a main focus image. So it can be a crucial part of your design. And you are creating more iteration, something similar to the main image. So just go with the flow and create a lot of design. Try playing with the neck of the bottle. Try playing with the top of the board to try playing with the base of the bottle. So just go with the flow and just go with the idea that is in your mind and try to put your idea into the iPad. As you're ideating, you will be coming up with new ideas and new sketches. Just leave the idea that you're working and start a new sketch, a new idea, a new canvas or some portion of our original canvas. Some students have asked me whether you should color the thumbnail images. So it's all up to you. If coloring gives you more clarity, then you should go for it. Or if you want to just stick to a line, that's okay. The main agenda of this process is to get your ideas from your head to iPad quickly as possible before it forgets. The main aim of this course is to get your subconscious mind to feed all these exercises. All these kids playing golf tees, interior mind. Since this is a beginners course, I'm only focusing on a singular product like a water bottle. But when you draw this water bottle, you get to know, it's not that easy. When I heard initial thoughts of making a course and new to me, I wanted to create design sketches of cold products. Then I thought, Wait, this is too amateurish for beginners to ten. So that's why I selected a water bottle design. I hope you like this course. And if you do, please leave me a five-star review and your valuable feedback. Every designers have their own workflow. So it is not necessary to follow my workflow. So that's why I have taught you or basics of procreate and design sketching so that you can actually create your own natural workflow. As you can see, I have created a duplicate version of our hydration. Like these, create more iterations and more designs and fill up all your canvas. In this phase of design, perfection is not important. Quantity matters, not the quality. So in the next lesson, I'll be explaining how to create concepts mid colors in less time. This is going to be a life hack for you. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 34. Clean up the sketch: Hello guys, welcome to the lesson. Clean up this kid. So in this lesson we're gonna try already drawn concepts kid. And we are going to be ready to color sketch. So roster for let's export our previous lesson sketch so that we can start something we have already worked up on. Oh, I forgot to group all these thumbnail sketches into a thumbnail sketch crew. But let me do that. So first select all the layers or do we need to group and rope and rename the group into thumbnail sketches. Now, that's ready. Now let's start a new layer and try to reduce the opacity of our bottom layers. So now let's reduce the opacity of the layer. So then we can start sketching. Now, keep in mind that this is like our finance kids. To the line has to be really crisp and clean. Since we haven't bottom layer for a friend, it's easy to draw this fine any chain outlines, Kate. So just continue drawing fearlessly. And above all. Enjoy. Now let's use the option called Drawing Guide that had learned in this section three, just opened on drawing guide and put our sketch into a symmetric mode. You know, the best thing about this feature. The best thing about this feature is that it saves us a lot of time. And I bore the product, you'll have a sense of balance. Tenths of a acidic tensor for uniformity. And don't forget to do warm-up exercises. Yes, we've heard during this cleanups kids, because it's really important to you calibrate your hand. And you should also take care that all the lines are properly enclosed because we can color it easily. That's all for this lesson. I'll see you in the next lesson. Take care. Bye 35. Explanatory sketches: Hi. Now that we have seen how to create concepts and color it and make thumbnail images. It's finally time to learn explanatory sketches. This is really necessary when you want to communicate some node, certain features of the product to the client or your team members. In this method, a bowl concept sketches, we explained how the product works, how it operates. Usually these sketches are presented in human interface conduct like, let's say arms, legs, or head, etc. To add un, to explain it is kits. It's very easy. It's usually comes up with arrows and some directions and dimensions. So in this case, I'm trying to explain the neck opening of the bottle, how the top opener, current extreme holder opener, opens with a twist to our major axis. Usually these sketches do not have to be that realistic. So even to represent some and same textures on our product, again, draw with simple lines, so simple patterns and explain them the specification of the extra. Now when we finish this more patterns representing our textures, it's followed by small arrows and some nodes. To explain the quality of the media, quality of the surface. It explains some designs gets, That's why it's called explanatory scales. In these sketches I had drawn with really light thickness and opacity. You might find some difficulties to understand the process of designing. So bear with me. Even also explained the volume of the water bottle. For more information, try to explain the details and let's select text options from our Spanner menu and add text. Certain features can be explained in any particular view, especially side, we'll just draw a circle and explain it with a text or some small sketches. In this situation, I have written circular pattern. Use arrows whenever recurs. It is essential part of explanatory sketches. You may not be able to see all the thin light strokes in this video. That's all right. You can always download Sketch and results and see it for yourself. I haven't drawn it up arrow to indicate that the top have a lead that you can open upward. Now I'm going to draw another view of our opener of the model. This will include the clarity of design features of the product. So this is really necessary. Explanatory stages are a crucial part of design process. On the top of the sketch that I had done, I tried to include the line called T by adding more thickness to the strokes. And when you look closely, you can see turning arrow around the opening of the bottle. This will aid you to explain that the direction of the opener isn't particular manner. You can always adjust the opacity of the text layer and even edit the phone or any text alignments. Design process always start with creating a rough sketch and exploring more concepts on the way. And we'll make some thumbnail images and clean up the sketch. And we'll select one skates, one concept that will address our project brief. And we'll use this concept to explain more that we're explanatory sketch comes in place. So I hope you'll learn how to create explanatory sketch in this lesson. So in the next section, we'll take a deep dive into how to create a realistic renders and dramatic flair to our design sketch. So I'll see you in the next section. Bye 36. Block colors: Hi guys. It's finally time to unveil our blog color lesson. Now that we have worked an outline for our water bottle, Let's start painting it. Ski team colors can be Tukey or it can be confusing to get the right choice. So let's block the colors. We can use paint brush to block in the colors because it comes with full opacity. By default. This block in the colors first, we don't need to worry about erasing it for what's blocking in the color is Venus. Let's start erasing with paintbrush. Try to use a full opacity brush with a small size so that when you can get a precise amount of erasing, take your time. Zoom in and zoom out and try to erase wherever you find, the color is bleeding. Meanwhile, you can always play some defocus music and Spotify right tones. I preferably likes music when it does not have any disturbance. That is music without any voice or any dialogues. Mostly these Muses will distract you. Oh, I forgot to say lettuces from war. In which you have asymmetrical option so that we can erase the edges on both sides easily. It's a pretty good feature, isn't it? Cleaning is not just refining. It's also about understanding the shape form of the project. The underlining lesson of this lecture is to enjoy the process. Ms. Anchoring is the most entertaining part of the whole process. You can try different colors and experiment and enjoy yourself. The next lesson, we'll have a talk about shedding. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 37. Add shadows: Hi guys, welcome to the shading lesson. Vertebrates catches reliable. Shading is crucial to give definition to the overall form. It converts it two-dimensional image to a three-dimensional form. So it's all about data mining, the source of the light. In our mind. One thing that you need to take care is that glare that you're going to share. It should be kept to multiply mode. Now let's select an airbrush tool. With the black color in our hand. Starts heading. One thing that you should take care is having embraced with less opacity. Just draw with less opacity over and over about a product. In this case, I have consider shading around the edges, but keeping a light around the right side for ambient bounce light. One thing to take care is the erasing is done at the last. So just throwing all the black color shades around the product and let your product unveil. Finally, when you observe are real products, Megan's here, darker shade in concave areas of our product groups and the bottleneck. So all of these areas have deeper sheets. Now let me introduce a technique using Selection tool. So go ahead and select that S sign on the top left of our canvas. And select Automatic. And when you select the automatic option, you can see a red and blue color areas. This actually the marking the boundary of our product. We can rule the tolerance by swiping from left to right at the edge, as you can see, the demarcation line. That's how you select a product. Main advantage of these processes to reduce the bleeding of the shading. And if reading happens in automatically select it and remove it. You will get the idea of sharing from a photograph and how afforded effort takes the photo. The same principle goes with this. Try to translate depths and grew shades with opacities of brushes and stroking brush over and over on the top of the area you need. Shading is often followed by reflections and highlights. And we will learn about this in our next lesson. So just continue shading for now and see wherever you can put more details to the shading. When you are fully saturated with shading. Let's stop it and start erasing the periphery. All right, Has see you in the next lesson where you'll learn how to do reflections and highlights. You then, bye 38. Add Reflections and Highlights: Now let's take a deep look into reflection and highlights lesson. Right now we have a shaded stage of our designs. Care is really important to bring out the design player in our product. So let's take our highlighted loop and create a new layer and set the layer mode to screen or soft light. You can actually try out different layer modes and see it for yourself. So let's take a wide air brush pen, set it to a less opacity, and start stroking it wherever light falls. One important thing that we need to take care is the layer more. Each layer mode has different properties. So I would recommend you to draw on some surface and change the layer mode to see how affects our layer. As your stroke more, the wall per read is going to reveal and is actually pleasant expedient. And this is why I love product designing. And sometimes we need to change our actions. It's okay to go back and start again new. It's better than repeating the whole process. Sometimes you need to shade in as well with the reflection. So it's okay to go back and forth. It goes back. Comfort is possible in design process. Now I'll just demonstrate doing all these things. You can change the speed if you want. You can find that option in our settings menu. And you can do in double speed or one point phi squared if you go on. As you can witness, I'm orbiting my Canvas all the time because that's convenient for me. And I want you to do what's convenient for you. You can use eraser tool to even further detail the reflections. You can actually delete some reflections. Worthy reflection and shades come in contact is really important to bring out the design flair in our product. Most of the designers use these techniques to highlight the key features of their design. So don't do want to do this. There are basically two types of reflections. Money, soft light or flexion. And another heartland of flexion. Softly reflections comes in. Majority of our products. It's come with our ambient reflection surfaces and hardly deflections comes into the ED does of the product. We're live totally bounces off. So to perform a hardly direction, take your paintbrush and set it to 100% opacity brush size. And just to give a swish of line and row like this, then it really cool. This can change the game of your whole design. Some people allowed to put light streaks on the product and it's up to you. Basically metallic glass surfaces do that. So there's no hard and fast rules. You can do whatever you like. And nobody is stopping you because ultimately you are the creator. And every designers have the create e-signature. It's time to you to find your signature and perform all of your design sketches. And that's what people call branding. As you can see, I'm providing those light streaks on the hard edges, like hard edges of the extruder, elements of the product. So just continue doing that. And in no time your product will be ready. As I told you before, most of the designers use these techniques to highlight key features of their design and is most underrated feature of procreate. In reality, the product won't be reflecting that much like it's a kind of gimmick that ensures you success and embracing your client in very less amount of time. And that's why it is called persuades his sketches. Now you're witnessing the word process of design skills. How you can create a realistic, amazing design with Procreate. If you like this course, please do give it a five-star review. And that'll ensure confidence and engagement to bring up new courses and ideas in future as soon as possible. So in the next lesson, we will see how to add stainless steel texture to our product. And I'm very excited to teach you that. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 39. Add stainless steel texture: Hi folks, Welcome to the lesson how to add stainless steel texture to our product. So let's go ahead and select that spanner icon and click Add Image. So I have already saved one image in my iPad storage. So I'm going to embed that directly into our Canvas. You can download the same texture from our resource lecture. If you want some custom texture, I would recommend you to search in Google. Talking about sites like pixels and unsplash.com. Once you import the texture file into the Canvas, tried to transform accordingly to the light source. And the product texture. Also tried to change the layer mode of the texture, diarrhea or error. You can see how the texture looks without the color and with color. This will give you an idea whether to put the color. In this case, we are going to put a stainless steel texture. Now as you can see, the texture is very linear in nature. How to make this thing as a three-dimensional texture. It's really easy to select the arrow butter and try to transform. Tried to wrap the texture so that it's more like a cylinder shape. So let's move the texture along until you're satisfied. In this scenario, the selection tool that we have is very useful. Like it changes the game of your design. It may not be useful while you're ideating, but it is the most lifesaving feature of iPad procreate. So I have already inserted a small key background. So this kind of background can be cool if your design has some kind of a mystery behind it. So for the products, a wall color has to be seen. I have the blue color, but if you need that shadow to be seen, it should have a white opaque background. Crazy thing while you do this thing is we find a lot of mistakes in our sketching, shading and all. So you can always correct it, or you can add more details, giving most more shadows at the bottom, like now I am doing. So. Just keep experimenting all these things. When you feel that you have done enough leg, you have been saturated. It's time to export your design two different formats. So let me try to export this into a PSD file. So click on the Share button and select the format that you need, and choose a location that you want to export. It's cool, isn't it? The integration of features and iPad procreate is so cool. It's so user-friendly and enhance user experience. So I'll see you in the next lesson. In the next lesson we'll see how to add a label to a product. See you then, Bye 40. How to add Labels to product: Hi, welcome to the lesson how to add labels to the product. So in this lesson we are going to look at how to add a brand label to our design product. So this bottle design IS taken from solely more water bottle brand. So I have already downloaded the Salima brand P&G label. So you just need to import directly into Canvas. By now. I hope you guys are expert in Procreate. I don't need to explain each and every steps to you now because you are already master now. So right after embodying the productive labor is timed to transform. So select that arrow button and tried to transform it uniformly. And try to orient the label in an axis and position it properly. Now, let me demonstrate the same with another design skates. So you might be wondering how I created two copies of the bottle that you have designed. It's very easy. Just select that layers and tie to duplicate. And you can change the colors by using our average and doing the same strokes. And now I'm gonna repeat the same process so that this technique is going to be embedded in your mind. So it will be useful for you anytime you want to add a brand name to a product that you are designed. The product brand label is the vital part of a design sketch process. It gives an opportunity for our product. So either we can leave the product without any label or you can create any logo and start putting it into a product. So I would recommend creating your own logo for our design and try to show off her design personality to the word. So It's really up to you whether to put it or not. It goes, putting in brand label gives you a complete designs, kids. I'm still repeating to change the layer mode of the label. Why I am insisting all of these points is that whether it'd be a Procreate, sketchbook Pro any Photoshop software. These basic fundamentals is gonna remain the same. So this course is actually general course. Part are, you are going to learn in this course is universal and can be applied to any software that you want to use. This is why I allowed design sketching. It is indeed a privilege to teach your students from all over the world. So I'm happy to be part of your design journey. And you might be wondering why I'm still repeating the same pro tips again and again. Because it's very important. My whole intention to do that is while I repeat again and again, this is going to be embedded in your mind. Whenever the situation arises, is gonna be popping up in your mind, just like a notification in your phone. And I'm going to repeat the same process in other two water bottles. You can also add text by typing it. And it's up to you. And as an industrial design teacher, it's my duty and responsibility to show you different methods. Ultimately, it's your choice to take that workflow if it suits you. I'll see you in the next lesson where we will be adding bump texture to our water bottle design. So I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 41. Adding bump textures in the bottle: Hi. Now that we have finished entering our water bottle design, Let's have a look at how to add texture. So go to our Spanner minute and select insert file. I have already downloaded some textures and naming, voting it right into your Canvas. This is a congruent, rough texture with lumps and bumps. My whole idea of adding this texture to the Water Board is to enhance the group so that the water will follow from your hand. You can always purchase textures from Shutterstock or big stock.com. So what you can do now is add this texture into a layer and transform and fit into the area that you want this texture to be present. And slowly erase all the areas that you don't want. It can often happen that a texture that we added is insufficient. So in this situation, you can copy this same layer, multiply, and you can transform and fit into the area. And don't forget to add this texture into the textures group so that it comes in handy in future. Yeah, Now that we have copied this layer, Let's put it below the mean that we have. Let's merging down Alt key and now it's time to change the layer mode and make the texture more realistic to our product. So I'm gonna just play with different layer modes and the layer opacity to see the voting. There are many options that you can try. But I will go with color bar for now because Colorbond gives you a darker texture, which would be an hour layover our product. Even then, we need to change the layer opacity to make it more realistic. So I'll just go build on the layer mode and see the teeth. You can always transform this texture at any point of time and see the rules. And sometimes you need to exert to be really close, maybe a little wider. So try and experiment brainstorming your textures. Now you can see certain areas of the water bottle is really dark. This is because we already have a shadow layer and this layer is set to color burn. So you can adjust it by breaking the opacity. I'm going to base for more land and see how it works. And I'm going to put same layer mode and see for ourselves. First, let's erase the ATO water bottle opener. Now you can see there's a black mark coming in our texture area. That's mainly because of overlapping of our texture layers. These are the small things that you will need to take care to make our design realistic. The k is actually not to worry and embroidery alone. Now, let's erase all the area. We just not in contact with the hand. All the textures inside the ADA. I knew that there was a small gap between the textures. Anyway, we're going to erase it. So you don't need to make it first and try to feel and experience a design rather than thinking a lot about design. Like the famous artist Salvador dialysis, have no fear of perfection. You will never reach it. There are some designers who would like to use the Color Fill option of procreate. That's okay. But I personally do not recommend because then you erase after coloring, a lot of ideas actually unveils of two. So this is a process that you need to experience yourself, not like just picking a color and dropping it off. Now, let me raise the periphery depression of the water bottle. Whatever we do on one side. There's also a pregnant for the other side. You could actually do this with other method called Drawing Assist. So symmetry, drawing assist when you click that option and you will be able to replicate whatever you're erasing on the left side, duplicated to the right side. As you raise, you are getting the wall sense of the waterborne disease, the most beautiful part of design sketching process. Yes, there will be imperfections in your design and that's okay. Just this case. Now, the three dimensional real product goes, imperfections are actually good. It will allow us to read more. That's all for this lesson. You can spend hours on this topic but never gets satisfied. This is one of the many ways you can add textures to the end-product. Keep adding textures and experimenting. Now, let's add some dramatic flair to a design product. I'll see you in the next lesson. Bye 42. Realistic and Dramatic render style: Now it's finally time to wrap up this course. In this lesson, we're gonna take a look at how to create realistic and dramatic style in design sketching. I assure you that this is gonna be the coolest lesson you're gonna learn in this entire course. So go ahead and invert that water Tumblr immediate into our canvas. As you can see, I've already created a background image for our Render. After importing the water image, Let's change the layer mode to Multiply. After that, we're going to transform this image and position it in a way that water is around the middle of the portal. Now let's erase the unnecessary parts of the tumbler and try to make these water bubbles be part of a bottle. Just blend it in and also change the opacity of the water so that it will be appear to be inside the water bottle. Now let me show you another mistake that I did. I forgot to erase the tumblers top portion. This happens with designers like us. When we focus on doing something. It's quite natural to Paul gets small details. But all these small details really matter. Made tied to add some more details. Now next, I'm gonna teach you a critical part of this whole lesson. So how can we embrace our climb? The key is not to just end daily focus on making the product realistic, but also add some dramatic flair. So I'm going to add, I'm going to import water splash element to our Canvas. I just came to know that the water element that we are just inverter had some background details. So I'm going to import the water splash element again, but this time a different format, PNG format. This format actually comes with transparent background, so it's very easy to add and manipulate. So I'm going to make this water bottle like it had just fallen into a water. So the splashes are rising upwards. Now I'm moving this water splash element to the top of all the layers. We need to make this water splash element to be at the front of the bottle. So let's set our layer mode to Multiply. Multiplies a very handy layer mode. As you can see, some of the water splash element is in the front of the bottle. We need to keep it at the backside of the bottle. So let's select selection tool and use free hand selection mode. And try to select the area that we need to keep it to the back or you can erase it. So in this case I have erased it. Or if the bottle is transparent, you can actually copy this, not copy, cut the layer into another layer and try to reduce the opacity. So you can see now how I did it. Just follow these techniques and in no time you'll be a pro in design sketching. I have set the layer to multiply and reduce the opacity. Design sketching in Procreate or any other software or any other digital platforms is all about managing layers and elements. So I hope you guys have learned a good deal about designs casing from this course. And if you have any doubts regarding design skating or any features that we have explained in this course? You're going to asking the question and answer section. Before wrapping up this course, I would like to give you some advice by Liu Andrew in your design journey. So I'll see you in the next lecture. Take care and bye
