1. Introduction to course: Hi, my name is James and I'm the instructor for
this course and using DaVinci Resolve and then making both personal
and business videos. Since two zeros, nine. In this class, you will
learn the essentials of them and resolve. The window resolve is a
sophisticated software. I created this
framing so that even if you've never made a
video in your life before, you will be able to start using resolved in a very short time. We'll start with the basics,
covering in the face, importing and arranging
media and in transitions, custom transitions,
animated titles, color correction all the way
to exporting your video. We also learned some
interesting effects like speed, ramping and others as well. As we go through the lessons, you'll see me create
a travel video and also the final outcome
of this video, using all the lessons I
teach in this training, I look forward to seeing
you in the training. Let's get started.
2. Quick Overview of Resolve: When you start having to
resolve for the first time, you'll be taken to a
screen highlight this. This is where all your
projects are located. If you are new to
Da Vinci resolve, this page will be empty. Sf4, an untitled project. So we will go ahead and
start a new project. We're going to just
give it a name. And I'm just going to call this Demo and create
this new project. And you'll be taken
to the pitch. The pitch is where you cut
and edit your project. There is also an
edit page as well. And this page is more like
a traditional timeline. You can basically not
used to cut pitch, but there are certain
advantages here. Since the user
interface is there. Design for editing videos fast, especially if you
have a long video. The middle piece
is useful if you have a large project
with lots and lots of media, audio, and etc. Next is the Fusion page. This is where you do all
the special effects. Next is the color page. This is where people
do things like calibrating, adjusting
the brightness. Next is a fair like patient. This is where you
set audio effects. And finally, the liver
is where you would export your video so that
people can see your video. You will be probably spending
a lot in the edit page. So this is a quick overview
of DaVinci Resolve.
3. Import media in the Edit Page: This video we'll
look at importing some media into DaVinci Resolve. The easiest way to
do it is to open up the folder with all your
media that you want to import and just drag this into this edit page
into the media pool. I'm just going to do
that by selecting this and dragging
it into media pool. And a message will pop
up if the frame rate of the project is different
from the media frame rate. So I'm just going to
click on Change and allow Da Vinci resolve to change their project frame rate. Next, I want to drag this clip. I can select this. And let's say I want to
select more than one, one click and select
these three clips. I can actually just drop this in and it will be in
the media pool. You can do the same for
images as well. Let's see. I'm going to use this image
and then drag this down. Here, you see that
it is a J peg. This is a video file and it has an icon here
that shows this audio. I can do the same for
audio files as well. You can just drag and drop it. Kick. Let's close this page. So that's how you import media
into the Vinci, Resolve.
4. Importing Media through the MediaPage: Another way to import media into DaVinci Resolve is
to use the media ph. With immediate pH, you
have the advantage of going to the drives away your media are
located so you can navigate straight to the
n du you're importing. So let's go to my read, write, head on over
to the directory. Then I want the
husband, My Media. I'm going to go to
Documents, go to video. As you can see, I can navigate to the directory that I want. So once I make the directory, I can see the clips that I want. I can change it
to the thumbnail. We'll sort I can
see the thumbnail. And I can also scrubbed through
some of the videos so I know which video is
the one that I want. So let's say this is
a video that I want. All I need to do is to select this and drop the drug is Dell on to the bin and it is there. So this is a second way
of importing media. And I can go for the Dow and I can scrub through the
videos that I want. And I'm just going to
drag this down. Alright? If I navigate back
to the edit page, you'll notice that the
video clips are now here. The edit page as well
in the media pool. So this media pool is as similar to the media
pool over here, right? So that's about using
the media page, two important media.
5. Organize and batch rename clips for efficiency: In this video, I
will show you how to take and use metadata on your media clips so that
you can be more efficient. And as you add it,
you will be able to locate your
files much faster. And this is especially important when you have a large
number of media clips. If you have just a few, you may not make such
a big difference. Now to do this, but you want to do is go to your media pitch. And right at the top, there are few tabs. When to open up
the Meta Data tab. Here you have fields
that you can feel that data and give, for
example, keywords. You can also put in
data for your camera. This is useful if you have, say, using a drone and GoPro. So you understand
what those clips, and you can search for
those clips as you edit. Next thing is head on over
to your media pool here, there are these columns and the titles at the top
that you can change. What you want to do is to
right-click and you can select which column
you want to show. I'm going to put this scene
as well as the short. Alright? For this example, you'll
notice that this will change. Alright? So now I have the option for a shot here as well as foreseen. And you can also
rearrange some of these. I'm going to put
this into the front here so that you will
help us in tagging it. Okay, so let's talk
about keywords first, done this first video clip. Let's add a keyword and resolve have some
built-in keywords. Anyway, I'm going to use my own. I'm just going to type in a row. That is the root. And every tech
this to this clip. Next I'm going to attack
all of these clips. I don't have to
do it one by one. I'm going to tag
it by selecting, clicking on the first clip, move to the last clip, press Shift on my
keyboard and click on it. And I've selected multiple
clips and go to my keywords. Remember to check this cubic
box and then type in a row. Finally, go down to the
bottom here to save this. So all this now would
have the keyword row. Right? Now I'm gonna do the
same for the rest. Ok. Now, if you just want to use a keyword and you don't
want to rename your files, you are good to go
here, go to your edit. You can search for these
clips based on the keywords. Open this as such, box. And you can gently
tapping waterfall. And you want to do is
filter by all fields. So all the texture, the waterfall will show up here. I've made a mistake by
tagging this is okay. And let's save and just find out the root or the root is here. So looking, locating this
will be much easier. If you tag it with
say, your camera, GoPro or your drawing, then you can also locate
your clips are much easier. Okay, I've missed
a mistake or where somebody's clips here,
you make a mistake. Cooper to eight. So this is telling me waterfall. You can just delete this
and change it to say, Okay, that's all
about correcting it. So that's about using
keywords to rename the files, coming over to the media page. But first, what you want to do is to attack this using the C. Okay, so let's say I'm going
to name this C Number one. Number two, all over the road. I can use the Tab key. I'm going to put three, and I can use the tab key to move from one item to the next. Five, six. This is seven. So this is town. So I'm gonna change
it back to that. So you can actually organize it however
you want it to be. This is just a sample system. Okay? Alright, so I'm going
to scroll down, I'm going to leave
some of these alone. Let's say I'm going
to use the waterfall. Okay? So I'm going to put the waterfall
station C Number 12, and so on and so forth. Okay. And let's say you're going
to do the rest of it. You only do next is to
select all these clips. Again. Click on the first click. Go down to the last
one, click and shift. Right-click, go to
clip attributes. It will open up on
video when you want to do is to go to the main tab, click on this, then this one. And you went to
rename these clips. And we will use some variables. And use variables, you're
going to use the scent mark. I'm going to use an keywords
first, okay? Keywords. And then underscore. I'm going to use
another variable, and this time I'm going
to use the same, right? So you can have as many
variables as you want. You can start with
say, your camera. So you can put a camera, then keyword, then see
how it is up to you. I'm just going to use this
tool to demonstrate this. And then click on Okay, and you will know that all these filenames will be changed. Since earlier on, I skipped
tagging some of the clips. That's why these
clips have no name. However, you can see that
these are all the road clips. These are all the town clips. Now that the files are Rename. And I'm back at the edit page, I can tell which clips
by the filenames loan, and it will help me to keep
my files much quicker. Now one thing to note
is that although resolve change the
file names over here, your original file names on
your computer isn't changed. So that's all about using the metadata as well
as batch streaming, naming your files
so that you can be more efficient when you edit.
6. The Edit Page: In this video, we'll
take a look at the adaptation greater detail. Now in the edit page here, you have your media pool on
the left panel at the top. And you can actually open
and close the media panel. Or you have to do is
to click on this tab called Media Pool and
then it will close. If you do click it
again, it will open. On the second panel here is
the source of your work. And when you hover
your mouse over any video clip you can
see in a source viewer. This is just previewing
what's in the source. Once you double-click it, then you can view this video
clip in the source viewer. And you can actually select
things in and out points. Alright, now on the right
here is the timeline. Viewer shows you the clip
that is on the timeline. For example, if I want to drag this clip onto the timeline, all I have to do
is drag this down. And now you can see in
the timeline, we were. So any video that you
see on the timeline, we will is what your
audience will see. For example, let me just drag
this down to the timeline. Alright, so now I can see
this on the timeline. Alright? If there's a space
here, it means that your audience will
see a black section. This is usually something
you do not want and you can actually
close up that gap. Alright, Next is the inspector. And select the Inspector. There's a lot of things you can adjust for your video clip. For example, things
like rotation, things like zooming in,
things like cropping. Alright? So we will cover this in
greater detail as we go along. Then the inspector
panel is open. The viewer will switch between your timeline and also
what's on the source window. For example, right now, yeah, I'm selecting this. What you're seeing is actually
in the source window. Once you click on a timeline, is suggest back to the timeline. We were so be careful not
to be confused with this. A few other things you can do in the panels is that you
can re-size the panels. You can also adjust
the size and height of your video tracks as well
as your audio track. And you can also use
this icon here to make adjustments to
your track height. For example, you can
unmute your video height, taller, smaller, as
well as the audio. So this will actually help you to make your edits lot easier. I'm just going to close it back. Now, you want to zoom
into your timeline. You can use the buttons
here to zoom in. For example, you can click
on the plus sign to zoom into your timeline
so that you can see things in greater detail. Okay, for example,
if you want to make a cut somewhere here, by zooming in is much easier. And you have three other
Zoom buttons here. This is the full extent zone, which means you will see
the entire timeline. If your timeline is very long, then you will adjust
automatically. This is the detail
zoom, zoom into detail. And this is the Custom Zoom. To set the custom
Zoom you will depend on what you have set over here. For example, if this is the zoom level that you
want for your custom Zoom. So let's say you
go back to Zoom. If you want to go
back to your customs of evil, switch back to that. This is an overview
of the edit page. And when you edit your video, remember that you are basically selecting the video
or audio or image, and you're just placing
it onto the timeline. And it is a matter
of just doing that. So that's all about
the edit page. We will cover this in greater detail as we
build up a project.
7. Editing on the Timeline: In this video, I will show you
how to do some basic edits on the timeline in
the Vinci resolve. Now this is a video on
my timeline right now. And let's start with
creating a trim. Let's say around here I
went to see the video where the person presses
the stop button to trim this while you have to do is to hover your mouse
to the beginning of the clip until that arrow turn to a different
icon like this. Then you can select this and you can drag this to trim it. So right now, if you
look at the video, it will be exactly
when the person presses the start and
stop button the car. Now you can do the same at the end of the
video clip as well. Let's say I want to see
this, this part here. I want the video
to N over there. I can just hover my
mouse over to the end of the clip and then select this
and trim it to the front. So that video has been the trim. To close up the gap,
I can select the gap and click on the Delete
button to close up that gap. And I can do the same
for the front as well. I'm going to click Delete
and close up that gap. Now, if I were to use
this tool instead, which is Trim Edit Mode, if I do the same, you
would actually pull the cliffs behind so that you will close up that
gap automatically. Alright, so this is actually
another way to do that. Let's put another clip
onto the timeline, like this click here
in my source viewer. And let's say
somewhere around here, I want this clip where the
wooden tongue comes up. Alright? So I'm going to double-click
this and I'm going to move my fine dislocation somewhere
here, here, and here. I'm going to click on AI to
set the end point, right? And you'll notice that this bar here at the moment is white. Then I hit this part
here is grayed out. Alright? So as I play the
video somewhere here, let's say one up to
this point here. Alright, before the word get blocked up by
the bus station, I'm going to click O
to set an out point. One way is I can
select the clip and just drag it onto the timeline. Okay? I'm going to undo that. Now. Besides just dragging the
clip onto the timeline, That's another way
to do that as well. That gives you more options. You can select the
clip and drag this over to the timeline V1. Here you have several options. For example,
inserting, overwrite, replace, fit a few
placed on top, append at the nn. Alright? Now, if I click on
append to the end, the clip will be added to
the back of that clip. So this is quite a good way to quickly throw clips together. Alright, I'm going to undo that and my play
head is back here. If I select this and
I click on Insert, you will insert the clip
right between these two. Let's do instead. Let's push this second clip
back so that it has space. Okay, I'm going to undo that. Now. You might play was somewhere around here, somewhere
in the middle. If I click on Insert, you will actually
split this into two sessions and insert
itself in between. I'm going to undo that. And let's say I want
to place it on top. It will place this clip on
a separate video track. On this video. Right now. There are several options
for you to use this. And this is a quick way to
add video clips as well if you are just putting
clips together initially. So a good way would be just to select the clip and
put a pen to the n. It doesn't matter where
your play head is located. It could be here. And let's say I want
to select this, this is a bunch of ginger. I'm going to select
the ginger and see somewhere around here. I hope point for the
append to the end. So these are appending
the clip to the timeline. Let's say for this clip, Let's do a split data. Let's say I wonder, trip
somewhere around here. Instead of trimming it, I can split this. And to split this, I can select this blade icon,
the razor blade. And how will my mouse
to click that? I want? Click it. And now you can see that this clip has been
split into two. Then I can go back to
the selection mode, select this lecture mode, and click on Delete to delete
a clip that I do not want. I can do the same
for the n as well. So let's say somewhere
around here too. Split this, go
back to the split, split this, back to
the selection and the, the clip that I do not want. That how you can
actually split a clip. Right? So that is some basic edits on the timeline in
DaVinci Resolve.
8. Transitions: In this video, we'll
look at how to use transitions in Da
Vinci, Resolve. To add transitions. You can go to your
Effects pH here and look for video transitions
or audio transitions. We will look at the
video transitions first. At the top here, there are
commonly used transitions, things like additive,
dissolve, blood, dissolve, cross
dissolve, and et cetera. As you hover over your mouse, you can kinda see how the
transition will work. So you don't have to apply
the transition now to your video clips before you
can see how they look like. For example, you do
a blur transition. It looks like this. So you can hover
and scroll through and see which transition
that you'd like. Further down there are things
like shape transitions. To apply a transition, all you have to do is to select that transition and drag it and place it between
the two clips. So here the transition is applied between these two clips. And let's play this. Alright, so this is
what it looks like. If you go up to your Inspector
tab under transitions, you can see the type of
transition that you have chosen. You can change it as well. If you decide to change it, you can go to any
of this transition that's similar to the
transition over here. And you can change it. Let's change it to us,
slight transition. Now, it looks like this. You can also change the
duration of the transition. So the default is
1 second, okay? So you can change it
to have more or less. And if you change the time, you can see that this box shows that transition will
also change as well. You can also have over
to the transition and drag to change the length
of that transition. Here, that transition is shown as the number
of frames as well. Okay? Now the other thing to
look at is the alignment. For example, right now, it is right aligned
between two clips. If you want to
have your decision start at the clip in front,
you can select this. The transition was started
at this clip, right? And this is particularly
noticeable if you have Eclipse like for
example, cross these off. Dissolve will happen
over the first click. And then by the time he
reaches a second clip, that transition is completed. You can also set it to the
clip at the back as well. All right, next is the
star ratio and N ratio. This shows you how much of
that transition is happening. For example, you want to see
more of that second clip. You can adjust this. And what's the n? You can see more of
that first clip. So choose to, alright. Finally, you have these
things called 0s. For right now, the
transition is linear. However, if you want to have your transition sort of
ease in, you can do that. For example, you ease in. You can have ease in and
out or out or even custom. So the transition will
have sort of a curve, which means some part of the transition will
happen faster. And then towards the end it
kind of slows down a bit. So you can have this
ease in and out. You can also have changed the
transition curve as well. So you see at what point that that
transition will happen. Alright, so you can
actually adjust all that. Now another way to add
a transition is to hover between the clip. Right-click. And you can also add
a transition here. For example, here you
can add 30 frames, 60 frames of cross this off. Now one thing to note is that if you have a row and right-click, you'll notice that on
the left clip here, there is a green bar. On the right hand
side of this clip, there is a red bar. Now the reason why
these shows red is because the second
clip here is a raw clip. It hasn't been trimmed yet. So let me move this aside. Notice that I can
extend this clip anymore because this is
the beginning of the clip. And that's why you see
the red line over here. And if you were to drag and drop a transition over or even
create a transition, you won't allow you to do. So. Let's do this. The difference is though, we'll come up with a message. Some of the selected
insufficient handles, right? So if you look at the handles, it means that you need
to have some clips that allow this video to have
a transition. Alright? So you can actually
just trim the clips. And if you do that resolvable, actually trim the clip for you to create some space for it. Notice that yes, shorten the clip at the write,
enable that transition. Perhaps you can see that more if you have a full Extent Zoom. Okay, so let me undo that. Alright. You do that, that
transition again. The frames trimming
clips, right? So some of the clips
has been framed by resolve to enable that, have that transition again. So let me do that. Now when it comes to
audio transition, it looks similar as well. So for audio transitions, there are just a
few to choose from. For example, mostly
they are crossfade. Whether you want to reduce
or increase the volume by a few decibels or maintain that. Using audio transition
is very similar. Just drag and drop it
onto your audio track. And you'll see that there
are transitions over here, okay, for this audio as well. If you have two types, the top of the show the
video transition and the bottom part of this in the inspector will show
the audio transition. Right. So that's all above. Transitions in Resolve.
9. How to fade Video and Audio: In this video, I
will show you how to create a phage in a da Vinci resolve and fates are particularly useful
between two clips. So for example, if
you have a scene of a waterfall and it jumps
over another scene, then using a fit would be a way to tell your viewers
that you are actually changing to a different
location or a different part of your video to fade the
video is very simple. All you have to do is hover over to your video
clip and you can see that there is Wake r
squared that comes up. And any video clip
that you hover over, you will see the 21 square.
One is at the beginning. Everybody said the end
of the video to create a square and selective your mouse and drag it to
your left or to the right. And you can see a time come up that will tell you
how long your fear is. Okay, let's play this. Alright. If you want to have a fade out, you can also do it to the
clip prior and you can just do select this and
drag it to the front. Alright? So you have
an effect like this. I'm going to do this. A second way to create a fade is actually to use your opacity, and this will require
using keyframes. I'm just going to place my
playhead here on this clip. And then I will
select the opacity. Click this diamond here
to create a keyframe. And I'm going to turn
the opacity down to 0. What I'm gonna do is I'm
going to move forward, say approximately like this. Click on the keyframe
to add another keyframe and turn the opacity
back up to a 100%. This is what the effect
that you will get. Okay? So that is a fatal. So this user's keyframes, the faster way is
just to hover over a particular clip and
drag that fit button. You can also fade audio as well. So if you fit an audio, even work the same way and
then your audio will fade out. Okay, let's take a listen. Alright, so that's how you
create a fit in the Vinci. Resolve.
10. Basic Title: This video, I'll
show you how to add basic typo in resolve
to add titles, go to your Effects tab
and under the toolbox, and you will be able to
find the titles tab. And there are titles
that you can use. And all you have
to do is to just drag and drop them
onto the timeline. Now when you hover over an individual title
and scroll over, you can see a sample of
how the title will work. So these are some fusion titles which
are a little bit more sophisticated. You can achieve. Just scroll down and see which are the titles that
you would like to use. Okay, let's start with
the basic title first. Let's select this and drag
this over to the timeline. Once your title is over the
timeline you will be able to see and you can trim the beginning of the end of the title so that
your title will be on the video as long as
or as short as you want. So all you have to
do is just hover over it and you can trim it. Or you can also just
split that typo as well. Just going to leave this let's
go back to the title here. And under the inspector, if your inspector isn't
open, click on that. And under the video
there will be two types. One is for the title itself. This box is where you
change the title. Let's just type
something. Alright. Next, you have things like your font family
and your font face. So this will depend on the
fonts on your computer. Alright? So even to
change the font, just click on the drop-down
menu and you can hover or scroll down and see which
is the one that you want. The font family will have different font
faces, some bonds. For example, this papyrus font, we just have their
regular, again, that would depend on the
font on your computer. You can change color
by clicking on the color and selecting
any of the colors we hear. Okay? And you can also slide this slider to have
different types of colors. Besides the basic colors, you can also choose
any of the color here. Change color of your font. Okay? Once you're okay, You can
see the phone straightaway. Next is the size. You
can change this by just hovering over and
changing the size. Tracking is how much space
between the words and letters. Next, you have your fonts. Style, for example, you
want it to be underlying. You can do that. You want it to be
strike through. You can do that as well. Next is the alignment. Let me just change. This was the default is the text is aligned
to the center. Once you do the
alignment left line, it looks like this. All right, align or justify. Alright? So this is the default. So you can adjust your
alignment that way. Okay? So let me do that. Next is the anchor point, whether you want to anchor
above, the middle, below. Alright, so these are
things that you can adjust. If you scroll down
this position, you can adjust the position
to the left or to the right of the video and up
and down as well. To reset any of this, just go to this
icon here to reset is another way you can adjust the size is also
to adjust the zoom. So you can see that as well and as well as the
rotation angle. Now, next is the drop shadow. Let's put a drop
shadow and lesser choose the darker orange. Once you offset it, you
will be able to see, okay, maybe I should just use white so they can see it
better on the video. If you offset it, you can see that it works well with shadows. Alright? So may not be speaking so well for this as seen in particular. And of course you can
adjust the opacity as well of the shadow. Next is the background. And to remind us
of the background, you need to increase this high, which is 0 divided by 0. So you can do the background, you can change the color, you can do the same as well. So you have a background so that your texts can be
seen much clearer. The corner radius is the corner. We can adjust all
the opacity as well. So these are the options
under the title side. If you go to your
Settings tab here, there are other
settings as well. For example, peach and your. Let me go and turn
off the background. And turn off the drop shadow. Go back to pitch and you're
so these are things that you can use to adjust the
pitch in the urine as well. We can also flip
your texts as well. Alright? And finally, a composite. So this is how your texts will interact with
the video behind. The composite mole is
defined as normal. If you change it to add a color, you can see that things
will look different. So it depends on the color
of the video as well. Let's say for
example, over here, the colors like this. Over here the color changes. So that's how you add a
basic idle in, Resolve.
11. Review and Questions: I hope you have enjoyed
the class so far. I certainly enjoyed
creating it for you. I look forward to
seeing your projects, meet with this
software as well as encourages me as the
instructor here on Skillshare. I have a small request to make, which is for you to leave
a review for this class. It does two things. Number one, it helps
other students decide whether this class
is suitable for them. And number two, excuse you have requirements in order for the class to remain
on their platform, which has said a
number of watch hours, as well as people are interacting with
their instructors in terms of reviews as
well as questions, this ensures that
the class remains on their platform and
you can review it anytime that you like me. That's it. Happy grading
and happy video editing.
12. Custom Title: In this video, we
will use our texts plus to add titles
to your video. Text plus have
extra functionality is compared to the basic title. So let's drag it down
onto the timeline. I'm just going to move
my Eclipse Rebecca bit. With tax plus. Under the title step, you can add whatever
text that you want. Let's say as part of the
video. I'm going to use this. So you're getting hungry, change it to regular. The next scene is so
I can eat some food. So under texts plus, you will have the similar
things like fonts and colors and sizing as similar
to the basic title. However, here the
extra functionality and one of this is
that direction. Besides the automatic direction, you can go reverse horizontal
as well as vertical. You can even go reversed
vertical as well. So if you shrink this up, alright, so you can see
something like this, I'm going to change
it back to automatic. I'm going to undo all
that. And one other thing is this write on effect. And the write on effect works
or something like this. You can create taxed at Ziff is getting
written one-by-one. And the way to use this theory, to use this right
one is to go to the beginning of that title. And then you can
use the keyframes. So create a keyframe there and turn this
all the way down. So there is no texts. Move your playhead along, and then move this
right on effect. And you have
something like this. And you can do the same
towards the end of that section and
another keyframe. And then at the end, move the write on
effect to the n, right? So you have an effect like this. Now I'm going to undo this. So next, let's go up here. Now, under this takes place, there are a few other tabs here. For example, one is a layout. So you can have different,
different layer. For example, this one is
considered as a point. We can do things like a
circle, area of a circle. You can control things this way. The size, the width, right? Perspective. You
can have all that. And let's change it
back to the point, and let's go back to default. Alright? So you have things like this. And of course, here
is the rotation. So here you have x, y, z axis rotation. So this is the egg and exit. So you can actually do
something creative with this. Let's change it to 90 degrees so that the audience
won't see anything. And you can key-frame. Move your playhead and
you can change it to 0. So you have an effect like this. I'm going to undo that,
changes back to 0. Now besides that, you
also have to Y exists, which will go like
something like this. Alright, so you
can also key-frame this to create a rotating texts. Let's go back with say, 90. So your audience
doesn't see anything. Keyframe this. And then
somewhere here, change it to 0. And you'll have an
effect like this. You can also combine the x and y so you have any meta title. Alright, so I'm just
going to undo that. Then on the transform tab, you have different types
of transformation. For example, you want
to space or characters or whether you went to
space versus baselines. You can do that as well. Alright, thanks. Or rotation, shear, right? So you can adjust all that. I'm just going to undo
all that for my video. Maybe I'll do stick with
something like this. Alright, and I'm just going
to have a 2 second title. I'm going to have to fill out. Alright, so we'll look
at something like this. So I incorporate this into
your video project as well by using a custom title
or texts class in Resolve.
13. Speed Up or Slow Down video: In this video, I'll
show you how to slow down or speed up the
clip in Resolve. Now I have this clip
here on a timeline, and this is a clip that
recorded up to here. There isn't any more
food dish after that. However, I want to show
the audience that this is the expressway in the GPS. So what I'm gonna do is
to slow down that clip. Okay, So to slow that down so that the audience can see
this clip little bit longer. I'm going to select the clip,
go up to the inspector, go to video and go
to speed change. Now this tab is usually
so you may need to click it open and you can then
change the speed of that clip. Now I'm going to
change it down to say, about 70% array so you can hover over it
and change the speed. Alright, so you can see that he has slowed down by about 70%. Right? Now I'm going to
undo that first. Now you have repo timeline, then you will adjust all
the cliffs behind as well. Okay, So this has LinkedIn
shows in that timeline. Then even the clip shows
a clock to let you know that speed
has been changed. Alright? If there's any
audio on your clip, then you can also do
pitch correction. However, for this, it is
just a background noise. I've removed this
audio later on. Alright. Now if you
want to speed up a clip, works the same way. Let's say this clip here,
I want to split it up, select the clip and then what you do is just to
increase the speed, to say, maybe 200%. Alright, and you can
see that the clip, we'll just close up that gap. Alright, so let me undo that. So that's how you
speed up and slow down a clip in reserve.
14. Realistic slow motion: This video will show you how to make your slow
motion a little bit more released it using
the rate function, especially if you haven't shot your video at a
higher frame rate. Okay, so first let's go to the file and let's go
to Project Settings. Now. This project
setting now is at 29.97 frames per second. Let's cancel that. This clip is shot using
59.94 frames per second. This means that if
I were to go to my speed change and
change the speed to half, you will still
have enough frames to make sure that the video. Welcome Jackie. So let's change that. I'm going to change
it to 50 per cent. To know whether you have
enough frames is very simple. All you have to do is, let's
say I go to somewhere here. Let me just move
to somewhere here. And I'm going to
use my arrow key to move my playhead frame-by-frame. And if there are
sufficient frame, then this camera here
on the screen will also move and you can see the
movement clearly again. So let's do that. I'm going
to move frame-by-frame. So you can see the
video is sharp. Each frame is sharp. Now, if I were to slow
this down further, say two, five per cent. This means there's not
sufficient frames as I do this, OK, and you'll see this effect. Okay, I'm just gonna
do the same here. Let's go to somewhere here. Alright. So I'm gonna do frame by frame using the arrow button
on my keyboard. Okay, So this is one frame. You'll notice that the
camera didn't move, although the play
and move one frame, I'm going to do it again. So it moved again. There's no movement,
a movement now, let's move on the play head, but no movement on
what you can see. So which means effectively, there is some frames missing. If you play this video, you will see the
jerkiness, okay? You can see the block
Venus happening. So one way you can make
this look a little bit better is to use
the time function. And you can do that by
heading onto your eggs Inspector under the
video tab, scroll down. And as the time scaling, now this type is usually close so you need to
click on it to open it. And you want to do is to
change every time process. Now the default is projects
that thing and it is nearest, which means resolve is using the nearest frame when he
hits a situation like this. Again, that's why
you see it is using the nearest frame as
you move the play head. You can use a frame
blend to change this. Okay, Let's try using a frame blend and
do the same thing. Move the playhead
frame-by-frame. You can see that resolve, try to have an average of two frames to create
this single frame. This is the origin of frame. Now this is the
interpolator frame, which is an average of the two. The frame before in
the frame after. You use frame blend, it may look better. And in this situation
actually looks quite good. However, you can also use a different one which
is called optical flow. Salty cross-flow is
a different process, which in some cases
can be better. So let's move this
frame-by-frame. So it is not trying to
average out the two frames, but it is trying to
create something based on its own estimation where
the object that is moving, you will see some weird effects
due to this optical flow. Now the reason for that
is because this scene in a background that is busy with shadows and different things. So you end up
something like this. And you can also change this most motion estimation
from standard faster to say, enhanced bit faster or enhance better for this
motion estimation, the further down it is, the better it is. However, speed is only for the studio version
of our result. You can see now that
this is smoother. So that's how you use
this read time process to meet your slow motion more
realistic in reserve.
15. Speed Ramping: In this video, I will show
you how to do a speed ramp. A spectrum is where a certain part of video is
played at a certain speed, and then it goes through
and acceleration curve and then reaches
a different speed. It can also be a
decelerating from a high-speed and goes
back to a lower speed. Alright? So it is
different from merely changing the speed where
you have a jump from, let's say, playing at the regular speed
at a 100 per cent, and then say jump to 200
or whatever percentage. Alright, so the spirit realm
is different in that manner. For this clip that I want
to use for my project. You have this car traveling on quite a long
meandering road that takes quite a few seconds before we hit the
sign that I want. So for viewers, this can
be a very boring scene. What I want to do for this
section is to shorten it by speeding it up and we will
do it with a speed ramp. So what I'm gonna do now
is to right-click on the click and turn on
real-time controls. So you see all these buttons. Next we want to
move the playhead to the position where you want to speed change
to take place. I want my speed to change
to take place here. Then next I'm going to
click on this arrow at the bottom and add SP point. Okay? So you see that it's
now a speed point there. Alright, next, I'm going to move my playhead to just before the
word bundle here shows up. Okay, let's move
it past the poll. I'm going to add the data
speak point by clicking on this arrow and speed point. Next, I'm going to right-click
again and this time, turn Henri time
cuff on the menu. You may need to adjust
your track heights to be able to see this. Okay? So this is the curve and the
speed hasn't changed yet. Now, next, what you need to
do is to click on this arrow here and change the timeframe
to read times p and n k. Close this. Next. I'm going to change this
section here to a higher speed. And what I'm gonna
do is to select this point here,
this speed marker. Click on this, and I'm
going to push this in. And as you can see, the speed is changing for this section, approximately about
250 per cent. And you see that
there's this curve here and the speed jumps, right? So the next thing that I
want to do is to select this and change this
to a smooth curve. Alright? I'm gonna do the
same for the MCQ, the second macro as well. So now what you're
seeing now is there's a spirit realm and speed ramp is happening at this position. Alright, so let's play this. And you can see this
section, the V, Everything is playing it
at 250 per cent faster. Now I think it's still
not fast enough. Alright, so once it hits here, Let's pizza goes back
to a 100 per cent. Alright, I think the speed
is still not fast enough. In order to change the speed, I can select this
and pushing again, and the curve gets steeper. Alright? Now, I can
also adjust this by selecting the point and
by dragging out this point, you see that the curve
changes to a smoother curve. I can do the same here as well, so that the curve
is much smoother. Alright? Now if I wanted to
create something of a slow motion effect, I can do it over this section by just doing the same thing. Again, I'm going to
add speed point here. And once the what comes up here, alright, I say add
another speed point. However, this time I want to this section where the word
is showing to play slower. So I'm going to select this
and drag this further. And as you can see over here, the speed here is
slower, alright? And you can see the
curve this way. However, if I put in
the smooth curve, it will be a sudden
change in speed. Okay, so this is
not what we want. We want it to be smooth. So select this, change
it to the smooth, changes to the smooth
curve as well. So I can actually adjust
this whether I want this to be narrower or wider. Okay? So this is the
effect right now. Okay? And then once
it passes this point, it goes back to
the normal speed. Once you have completed
this section, you want to hide all these back. Why do you need to do is
just to right-click on the clip and high
dairy time curve. Right-click and hide
the real-time control. Alright, then I'm going to close the gap for the next
section of the video. Alright? So that's how you create a
speed ramp effect in Resolve.
16. Custom Transition: This video, I'll show you how to do a different kind
of transition, where we will mix the standard transition
with another effect. So I'm going to put a transition here between this part here, alright, this scene
and this clip. First I'm going to
the effects pool and go to the generator. And I will use a solid
generator or a solid color. I'm going to place this
right in the middle. And I want to shorten this
transition to say too about two seconds and place it right
in-between the two clips. It doesn't have to be
exactly at two seconds. I'm going to put it
as close as possible. Right? Now the default color of
this solid color is black. And you can change it to
another color if you want to, by going to the color and selecting a
color that you want. Right now in my situation, I just prefer it to be black. However, I'm going
to the Settings and turn down the opacity a bit. Alright, so if I turn
it all the way down, you can see what's on
the screen behind. I'm just going to use it about, around 80 per cent. However for you, you can use whatever opacity that you prefer or even
leave it at a 100%. Okay? Now, next, I'm going to
the video transition and use some of these
transition here. Alright? I'm going to look
for the bundle, which is this one, right? So if I were to use a
standard transition, this is what it will look like. However, I'm going to drag that bundle transition and
place it on the solid color. So it will look
something like this. Alright. Next one I'm going to do is having select that transition. I'm going to go down
to this point here, which is the ease. I'm going to use, the ease in and out so that the transition will have some acceleration and
deceleration curve. And I'm going to copy this part here to the back
part of their transition. And I'm gonna do that by
selecting the transition, press on the Alt
key on my keyboard and then drag it to the right. So basically what I've done
is I've copied the front end and back end of this transition so that it will be
the exact same thing. Let's play this video and
see how it looks like. Alright. So you get a
transition like this. Now, you want to change the different kinds
of transition. You can change this as well. It doesn't have to
be exactly the same. So it can be
something like this. Let's change the transition
here with the transition to change the type to see slide. Alright? So this is
what it looks like. You can have different
type of transition. But anyway, for my project, I'm going to stick
to the same thing. I'm going to undo that. So it will look something
like this, right? So this is a more advanced
way of doing transitions, rather than just using
the standard transitions that's available in Resolve.
17. Adding and adjusting narration: In this video, I will
show you how to add narration track
into your project. Now, I have a narration, videos that I've
recorded where I narrate and explain part
of the trick that I'm on. So I'm going to use
this and place it onto the video track number two as well as the audio
track number two. Now, I've actually sort
of make a mistake by placing Titles here on the treatment with two.
Alright, but it's okay. It's very easy to move
this up to the track. So I've added tray
video track the tree. So to move all these titles up, all I have to do is to
select this with my mouse this week and then
press the Alt key on the keyboard and press
on the up arrow key on my keyboard and all these
titles and transitions, or move to a different track. Next I'm going to drag
the narration track onto a track V2 n. It will look
something like this. You'll notice that
my narration track is shorter than the project. That's okay. Because what
I intend to do is to split the clip and adjust the narration soda
it kinds of fit. Now, if your narration track
is longer than your video, then I'll probably you need
to either cut down some of your own narration or adjust your video
track accordingly. Alright, now, first, I'm going
to mute the track below. First of all, the
backgrounds or from the different scene
so that I can hear my narration
track properly. The next thing I want
to do is to link the audio as well as the video
from that narration track. So that way he allows me
to see things better. And I can also disable
the video track first and see where
I want to show up on the screen to
explain this array. So this is my video that
range up to this point. Alright? So let's, I'm going to listen
to this and I'm going to adjust this and see where
I want to be onscreen. And then I will split that and I watch the video later on. Alright, so let's start 2021. After being locked
down several times, we decided to go for a triple. Our destination is a small town 80 kilometers east of Colombo. The weather was cool and cloudy, with some occasional
run along the way. The skies cleared
up by the time we arrived in town for breakfast. Okay? Now what I'm gonna do is
computed this around here. Let me zoom into that timeline. This chi-square. So the
skies cleared up, right? So obviously the sky
hasn't cleared yet. This point. I'm going to split this. And I will push this narration back again by finding where
we sort of enter tower. Alright. It's probably somewhere here. This chi-squared up. By the time we arrived in
town for a late breakfast. After breakfast, we
went for ice cream because it is a road
trip after all. So I mentioned ice cream. So I'm going to split
this audio track again or the narration track and move this gradient
would look to where the ice cream shows up. So the skies cleared
up by the time we arrived in town
for breakfast. Right? So it shows go into the
shop for breakfast, right? And do not worry about
this quiet parts. But I plan to do is to add another audio track laid on
with a background music. So we will make this video
and look quite nice. Alright, so something like this. So you get the idea
how to do the audio. And if I want certain parts where the scene
is a little bit boring, I can actually turn on this track and see my
narration where there is fit. If it doesn't fit, I want
to use that section. If it fits, for example here. Okay, I want to show this. Maybe our destination. Our destination is bundle, a small town 80
kilometers east of boxy. I'm just going to use this
because I wasn't looking at the camera when I
recorded the narration. However, if I am
using the narration, if I want to use this path, I can just bundle a small
town 80 kilometers east. Okay, I'm going to move
back a few frames. And I'm going to split this. Okay, I'm not going
to use this section. So what happens is a small town 80 kilometers east of Colombo. The widow was our destination. Go for a trip. Our destination is bundle, a small town 80 kilometers
east of Colombo. The weather was cool and cloudy with some occasional run alone. It'd be I'm going to split this occasional rain along the way. That's how you can actually
mix video, your audio. Now I'm gonna do
the rest of this. So you have a rough idea how to do adding and narration track, as well as adding a
video into your tray. Most of these, I'm
quite happy with this, this part here. Okay? All the video clips
at the bottom. Most likely, I'm going to use
this right towards the n, where n that trip by giving a narration or
somewhere around here. So I'm going to trim all of this and all the effects on lockdown and had a
change in scenery. So that's how you add
narration track in resolved.
18. Basic Color Correction: In this video, I will
show you how to do some basic color
correction. In resolve. To do color correction, you need to go to
your Color page, clicking on that color, and you'll be taken
to this page. Now this page is
rather complicated. However, we will cover the basic just to get you started now when you are on this
page and if you do not see what I'm
seeing right now, there's a few things that
you need to control. One is to make sure that you are at the color View tab here. Now, if you are at
different tabs, then you will see
different things. Especially if you're in the HDR. Make sure you come back to
that primary color wheel. Next is this tab here. You should be on
the color wheel. You shouldn't be at
the color bars are the primary lot wheels, right? So make sure you're
at this page. And finally, in your head, the scopes, you should
have this turned on. If you are on a different set, the keyframes, then you might
see something different. Scopes. You should live your ads. Are there other scopes as well? Alright, so, but basically
we're just going to keep it simple and see
something like this. And for the curve,
here is the curve. Now if you change it, you
should see something different. So make sure that you have
this, select that as well. The first thing is to
look at the scopes. The scopes will tell you the colors for this
image right now. It is actually pretty okay. And there is a path
that is bright and then here shows
the dark parts. So this gives you an
indication of how much you can shoot,
adjust things. And this is looking at the image as in a technical manner. Now when it comes to
the color wheel here, lift talks about the
dark part of the image. Gamma allows you to
control the mid-tones, probably somewhere
around these areas. And the face, again, allows you to control the
bright parts of the image. And offset allows you to control the entire image overall. So for example, if I were to change this by dragging this, right, the image
will get brighter. You can see this showing
that the image is brighter. Now if you want to
undo everything, you can just reset this
over here or over here, you can reset everything
back to the norm. So I'm just going to
reset this offset first. The first thing is correcting
the color balance. Now this image
looks pretty okay. However, if you want to
change your white balance, there are two ways
you can do that. One is by using the color
picker, select this, and then you can pick a
sudden path on the video or the frame and decide if
that is something white. Now, I selected this
piece of paper and here you see that the
temperature has changed, now. Put some tint in some contrast. And you can also
see that the scopes have changed if you're the CEO or region image and versus the changes you can
have implemented. You can go to the
top section here to bypass color grades
and fusion effects. Click on this. And you can see that this
curve has changed, right? There's only a slight change. And has done so by reducing the blue
because the luckier s, some kind of bluish tint. Now this ray telescopes, let me do something to show you. Now if I change this, you can see that suddenly
the green increase. If I do the opposite side, the green decreases, whereas
red and blue goes down. So I'm just going to undo that. Now in order to
make any changes, you just hover your mouse to, for example, the contrast here. And your cursor changes to an arrow that points
to the left and right. You can click on it and
drag it left or right to increase or decrease
the sad things. Okay, If, for example,
right now I'm increasing the
contrast slightly. Okay? Now let's say over
here, I want to reduce the dark part
out and make it darker. Look and really black. Then I can actually select this, reduce it and you
can see cops here. The dark paths are
getting lower around. Maybe slightly, not too much. You do not want to go crazy and make things look on your screen. Okay, So like for example here, if I increase the mid tones, mixing image slightly brighter, something like
this looks alright for the image actually
is quite okay, ready? However, this, I'm just going to show you
how you can increase saturation slightly
in case you want to make this more
saturated, you can do so. Or raise the shadows you can do so is beginning
to look too much. So I'm just going to
turn this back down. Just slightly like this. Now for this image,
it is pretty okay, but I want to show you a
different way you can create. And this is quite common if you're familiar
with photography, where you want to do an S curve. And that is how you correct this using the line over here. You can click to
increase, put a point, and then you can click somewhere here to create a point as well. As you can see now
the image is actually what done because of
the earlier changes. So anyway, I'm just
showing you how you can actually do an S
curve over here. So that's all about basic
color correction in Resolve.
19. Changing the Look and Feel of a video: In this video, we will
change the look and feel of your video by
using the color wheel. So let's say for example, if you go to the gate, which means we are controlling the brighter parts of the image. And you select the gain
and drag it to the right. And you will see that the
image will have a cooler look. Now you drew it to the left, then you might have a yellowish or warm look to that seem. So you can actually
manipulate your image creatively for the
image that you want, whether you want the EPA
warmer scene or a cooler seen. And then the other
thing is of course, whether you want it to be redder or more of a greenish color, right to the mood of the video. You can do the
same for the gamma as well as for the lift. And as usual, when
it comes to color, you just want to do
some slight adjustments if you do not want to overdo it. And then some of the
scenes on some of the colors will start to
look really terrible. Alright? So that's how you change
the look and feel of your video in Resolve when
you're creating your project, can just consider the look
and feel of your video. And if it makes sense, you can change the color to
get the feel that you want your audience to
see where there's a warmer tone or bluer tone.
20. How to blur, mask and track: Video, I will show
you how to blur or mask off a section in
the venture resolve. And I'm going to blur this
word here, the word outlet. And this is my
video clip, right? As you know that the video moves and it goes out of frame. So I will also show
you how to track this. So if you have a
stationary object, then you just need to do the first part of this
video. All right. Now, we will use the color page and to access the color page, click on this color tab over
here, right at the bottom. It will take you to
this page. Okay. Now, what I'm going to do is to highlight
this section here. And these are the notes, right. So right click and add a note, and we will add a serial note. Okay. So we will
apply the effects to the serial note so that in future if you want
to delete the note, then all the things will be
removed easily. Okay okay? Now, you can also apply
it to the note directly, the main note, so it's okay. So I'm just going to do
it this way. All right. Now, next, what you want to
do is to go to your effects. Now, if your effects
tab isn't open, you can click on
effects. All right. So if you don't
see this, then you may have your notes turned off, so make sure your
notes are turned on. Okay. So now there are several blur effects
that you can use box blur, directional blur. I'm just going to
use Mosaic blur. It works at the same way. So I'm going to drag this and place it into this serial node. Okay? So now you see that the entire frame has
been blurred out, using the Gaussian blur. All right. Now, next, what you want to do
is to go to this, which is the window menu. Click on the window menu. There are several types
of windows that you can use to mask a
certain area off. Okay. So I'm just
going to select a square one because in this
case, it doesn't matter. However, there are
circles and there are hand drawn masks as well. So it works the same way. Now you can position the mask to wherever you want
to position it. So I'm just going to
position it on here, and you can reposition the
corners as well this way. Okay. And I'm going to
reposition the corner over here. Okay. Now, next, you'll
notice that there are this pinkish or
rather red bubble, and that affects the blur
of that the edges, right? So if you want to
have a sharp edge, then you try to
place the corners directly the red bubble
right over the blue bubble. Now, if you want to have a wider fate effect, then
you can drag it out. So that looks pretty. All right. Now, if
this video doesn't move and you have a
stationary object, you are basically done. You can go back to your
page and the blur is there. And if you think that you want to adjust the
blur somewhat more, in the mot blur setting here, you can adjust the pixel
frequency for more pixel or less pixel
and the aasing, okay? So you can make it a
different shape, for example, or whether you want
to make sure that people can't see what
you are blurring, and you can go about your
editing the normal way. Okay. So however, because
this object moves, okay now the mask doesn't move
or the blur doesn't move, so we need to go and
create a tractor and make sure that the blur
effect will follow the word. So what you want to do now
is to select the tractor. Click on the tracker, and then there's a menu
to track forward. So select that track forward so that DaVinci Resolve
will track that object. Okay? Now, you noticed that I have started
this at the front, so I didn't track the front. So what I will do is
click on track backwards and resolve will do the tracking backwards and blur that object. Okay. And basically,
that's it. All right. So if you go back
to the edit tab and you're editing your video, so you all blur there and people can't see what
you want to hide. Now, what if you do not want to use a blur or you
want to change it? So what you can do is go to the settings here under
the effect settings, turn off the mosaic blur, and then the blur will be gone. You can go back to
library and search for a different type
of blur, if you want. Let's say you want to
have a gaussian blur. You pit on. And now you can have
the Gausian blur. So you can change this as well. Okay? So you can have a
different blur and you don't have to repeat
the same process. Okay? Now, I'm going to
undo this Gausian blur. I will show you
add another thing. Instead of the Mosaic
blur or the Gausian blur, I will add a color
generator onto this node. Okay. So I will add
the color generator. Into this note, and now the
color generator is this. And I will use this color picker to select
the color similar to this. So now, you'll notice that the sign has been well
blended in, right? If someone doesn't have a close look or the
color doesn't change, they won't even know
that you have actually hidden that word, right? So that's how you blur or mask of a certain object in
a Da vinci resolve.
21. Your Project: For your project,
make the shot video. It can be a travel video
or video about your hobby. And remember to put
at least two or three of the things that you have
learned into your video. For example, you can put
in titles, transitions, and perhaps make some changes to the song or to the
color of that video. Look forward to
seeing your video.
22. Demo of final road trip video : They have 2021. After being locked
down several times, we decided to go for a trip. Our destination is bundle, a small town 80 kilometers
east of Colombo, to weather was cool and cloudy, with some occasional
run along the way. The skies cleared
up by the time we arrived in town for breakfast. After breakfast, we
went for ice cream because it is a road
trip after all. Next, we walked through
when total calorie, this gallery is actually a
cafe with the small museum shrink pattern of malicious
history unrelated to a Bento. You can see various
artifacts and even replica good planning
stuff in the museum. And you can also, by the famous been doing ginger
in the gallery two. Next, we drove a few
kilometers south of town too. Chairman, Waterfall. Waterfall is easy
to access and you can put right next to the river. The time we were there, the
water was strong because it is the end of the
year monsoon season, which is famous in Malaysia. There is a suspension bridge
that overlooks the river in which we cross just to have
a better view of the river. After a few hours
at the waterfall, relaxing our stomachs told us it is time for our
next destination. We drove a few
kilometers to gender by to grab some food
at Pine yet cafe. The weather day is cool. A nice scenario since it is at the foothills of
content highlands, We Can Eat your food with the local wildlife
rather close by as well. After a quick bite me
hit her back home. It was a good trip to
help us relax a bit. Although it's a short trip. We did have a break
from all the effects on lockdown and had a
change in scenery. They'll give mental or visit
if you are around the area.
23. Exporting your video: This video, I'll show you how to render or export your video. This means that after
you have placed all your transitions
and texts and titles, you want to export it as
final video file to do that, or you need to do
is head on over to the deliver pitch and you'll be taken to a
patient like this. You can either render the entire timeline or
render the In-N-Out range. Now let me keep it over
to the edit page first. Now one thing that
you have to be careful is making sure that your video tracks has not
been disabled otherwise. For example, you may
have added some titles. However, if you have
disabled the video track, when you render the video, all these would not show up. Same thing as audio as well. So for me, I've decided to
mute the original sounds. I just want my narration track
as well as my audio track. And that will be in my final video that you want to render a
specific section. Let's say I went to render only. And from this point and up
to somewhere around here, I can set the in and out
point on the timeline itself. All I need to do is to press
on the I on my keyboard. And you'll notice
that this section here has turned a greater, alright, and you have
this line over here. Now, if I go to the
end of these videos are made here and
press on the O. You'll notice that this
is the final point. If I hit by pitch and if I
render the in and out points, I will need this section. So take note of this
when you export so that you get the entire file
and not just a section. Now you want to render
the entire section. You can still do that. Just select the entire timeline. Then resolve will render
the entire timeline. Now on the rendering
settings here, you have a few starting
from custom to YouTube, to Vimeo, as well as rendering
just the audio alone. If you're not sure you
can use a YouTube, I prefer to use custom
because customers have greater adjustments
and sudden advantages, which we will cover shortly. So first is the file name
and also the location. So I'm just going to browse
to go to the directory. Let's say I want to
render it to Final Cut. Click on Save, then
give it a name. Let's say this is my road trip. Usually I like to put FC for
my file so that I know this is the final cut and this is
not my original video clip. It's up to you whether you want to use a different notion. The reason why is
that you can always re-render your final cat
videos. I've provided. You haven't deleted
original files for your original files. I can see that.
Okay. It is not SDN. I will try to tend
to be more careful before I make any deletion
or moving them around. Now next is to render a single click versus
individual clicks. You want a single click. You will render all the
clips into one single file. Alright? And you want a video. Next is the format. So there are self
formats in a custom, you can do things like MOV, MP4, and et cetera. So usually I choose MP4. And for codec, for the free
version you can choose to. One is H.264 and H.265. Now, this is a wonderful
advantage I mentioned about rendering to 65 provider. If your computer has a GPU, it will render your file
much faster versus H.264. Also, your file size
will be smaller, so the V1 to upload it online, you have a smaller file size, whereas on YouTube, it will
go to the default H.264. That's my customer.
What is our preferred? Next is network optimization. And network optimization
means that the software, but just put all the metadata in front of their video
as it uploads. It is useful for video
streaming services. You can choose to
turn it on or off. It doesn't really
matter that much. Next is resolution. You can select any
resolution that you want, whether it's half HD to full HD, up to two k and above. All right, I'm just
going to render it as the default foolish. D19 20 by 1080. Next is your frame. The frame rate is more
or less fixed from the beginning when you set
your project frame rate. Now, next is the quality. And you can choose automatic and go for the best
quality or high. And this will have a
corresponding effect to the quality of your video
as well as the file size. Now if your video is small, you can go for high on best
doesn't really matter much. For sudden videos,
if you want to restrict it to a
certain file size, you can do that here as well. So this will be the data
rate that resolve exports. Here is ten kilobits per second. The rest of it, you can
leave it as automatic. Once you have done all that
is to draw Render Queue. And your job is queued up. It is not rendered yet. And if you're ready to
render just a random, all the software start
rendering that video. For my two-minute video here, it will probably take
about 45 seconds. So we'll give you a remaining percentage
as well as the time. What's the rendering
is completed, you can right-click and
open file location. And see that video over here. Alright, so this is
a two minute video and this is my video here. Okay, I'm just going to
pause this and close this. Let's head back over to resolve. You can add several jobs and render it all
at the same time. For example, you have
different video projects. You can complete them. You can just add
to Render Queue. Do your next project, add to render queue. And then once you have
several projects, you can render them
all at the same time. That way, you can take a break and render your video
and come back in. Your video should be done. That's all about
exporting in Resolve.
