2. Why Choose Davinci Resolve?: Okay, so what is
Adventure Resolve? Adventure Resolve is a
professional grade video editing, color correction,
visual effects, and audio post
production software developed by Black Magic Design. It is widely used in the
film and television industry as well as by
independent filmmakers. Okay. Video editors
and content creators Adventure Resolve is known for its advanced features
and capabilities, offering a complete post
production solution in a single application. Okay, so in this tutorial we're going to look at
some of these features. Some of the features, why do
we choose venture resolve? Why you should choose
venture resolve? And the first reason is
it's multipage interface. Okay, venture resolve features a multipage interface with
separate pages for editing, color, grading, visual effects, which is what we call the fusion audio post
production and so on. Or what we call the fare light. Okay? And it has the final
output page as well. So this modular design allows
users to separately or seamlessly switch between tasks within the same application. Okay? So you can
work on editing, cutting, or on Fire Light
or Fusion accordingly. Okay. Within the same software. And then we have the professional
video editing, okay. Venture. Solv has these advanced
video editing tools including timeline editing, trimming, cutting
and transitions. Okay? And it support
multicam editing, allowing users to synchronize and edit footage from
multiple cameras. Okay. It's very, very possible. And then we have color
grading venture. Solv has a powerful color
grading capabilities with the wide range of color correction tools and node based color grading system for more advanced and
flexible color adjustments. And then it provides
support for HDR, which is what we call the
high dynamic range grading. Okay? It provides
support for HDR. And then we talk about Fusion, or what we call the
visual effects. Okay. Venturesov
has the Fusion page for advanced visual effects
and motion graphics. And you can carry out the node based compositing for creating complex visual effects and animations within Diventuesolve. And then we talk about
audio pass production, or what we call the Fear
Light Venturesove has the Fear Light Audio page for professional audio
editing and mixing. Okay? It supports multi
track audio editing, audio effects, and
audio mastering. Okay? You can do all
these within Venturesolve and then further looking into
the features we talk about, the management of media. Okay? Media Management
Da Ventrsov has a comprehensive media
management tool for importing, organizing, and even
tagging media files. Okay? You can integrate with media databases and
meta data support. You have a specific page for
media import and management, and then we talk about possible collaboration
and teamwork. Okay. Daventrzov has the collaborative
workflow features, okay? Enabling multi users to work on the same project
simultaneously, enabling so many
people working on the same project simultaneously. And it supports sharing projects and collaborating in real time, editing the same video. And then we talk about
exporting and delivery. Okay, the venture resolve has
extensive support options for delivering projects in various formats and resolutions. Okay, it can integrate with popular video codecs and file formats in
different formats. We can export your videos. And then we had the
Hardware acceleration. Hardware acceleration. The Venture Resolve utilizes the GPU acceleration for
improved performance during editing and rendering. And then it's
provides support for black magic design software such as the Venture Sof
panels and so on. And then we talk about
the open nature of it. Okay, What we call
the free version. Venturesof offers a free version with a pot set of features making professional
grade post production accessible to a
broader audience. Okay. You can do quite
a lot of things with the free version and it's available directly for download. And then we talk about
regular updates, okay? Black Magic Design
frequently releases updates on to Ventureso, okay? Introducing new features,
improvement and optimization, so that we can
have the best use. And the software always
aligns with what is happening in the global arena. Okay, recently we have the introduction of a lot
of artificial intelligence into the conduct of the video editing platform
within the venture resolve. So we're going to
look at some of the AI applications like the text based
editing and so on. We'll look at them through
this tutorial as well. And then generally, for the
minimum system requirement, for Mac operating system, this is the system requirement. And for Windows this
is the requirement, as well as for Linux,
this is the requirement. So generally, the venture
resolve, we can say, is renowned for its
comprehensive set of features. And its ability to handle the entire post
production process from editing to colorading
to audio mixing all within a single application. Okay, It's versatility and
powerful capabilities makes it a popular choice for a wide range of video
production projects. Okay, So I think this
does it on the general features why you should
choose the vent resolve. Okay. In the next class we
are going to look at how to download and install the Ventry resolve
on your system. Okay? Whether you're using
the Mac operating system, Linux or Windows
operating system. Okay? So until next time,
thanks for watching, and I look forward to seeing
you in the next class. Bye.
3. Downloadinga and Installing Davinci Resolve: In the last class we talked about what is Davinci resolve, why you should go for
Daventry resolve, and what that some of the basic system requirements for you to run avent resolve. In this class, we're going
to look at how to download and install avent
resolve on your system, whether you're using
Macoperating system, Windows operating
system or Linux. To download and
install vent resolve, all you need to do is
to open your browser, come to the search bar and just search for
Google, for example. And then you can just
search for Da Vinci, resolve spells just like so. And you can hit on
Enter, you can see it. The first one over here
is the world's only all in one solution for
editing color and effects, motion graphics, and so on. So you can click on this, like I said earlier, it is provided by Black Magic Design. So you can just go
ahead and click on this to be brought into
this very platform. So this is the ventures
of main website. You can go there
also by coming to Blackmagic Design.com and
then you can come over here, you can see the
downloading software. Okay, You're free to go through to see some of the features, some of the what's new
and what are some of the key things that you should know about the ventures of. If we need to find out some
more information about it, you can just skim through and just scroll through
to understand or just have an understanding of what they do
and the precision and what kind of
perfect software you're dealing with to download. You can just come
all the way here and you can see the two
downloads over here. The Ventures off 18. So you have the free
download now and you have the buy online Now
the free version, like I've explained,
contain everything. So we click on the free download now and we'll have it now. We're dealing with
Venture Resolve 18.6 which is the latest version as at the time of
this recording. So you have the option to download the
Ventusolve for Macos. If you are using macros, you can go ahead and click for Macos phasing Windows again, you can just click to go
for the Windows or Linux. You can specify over here. Forget about this, this is for advanced users, for filmmakers, maybe people who are
going to use some of the most complex features
for the interventorysolve. These are the people
that go for this. But if you make
Youtube tutorials for your content
creator or you're just using the video
editing platform for content creation, general content creation, the free version can do
quite a lot for you. Okay, I can do nearly everything
for you. I can say that. Okay, so let's say for this tutorial we're
going for Mark, so we can just click on Mac
operating system and it's going to give us
the Mark portion of the adventure result. So all you need is just to go ahead and fill up
this information. I've already filled mine, so just fill up the information. Your name, the company, e mail, phone number, and
country, city and state. And just tell us how
you're going to use the black magic products and which features
should we add. Okay. You may just keep Neil. Neil, if you want here. And once you just register, they just want you to register. And you can just
come over here and click on Register and download. And it's going to give you
the set up to install. Okay, That is how to download. Installation is very easy. It's just a click
through step by step. Once you follow
through, you'll have Da Ventrisov installed
on your system. I will allow you to just go ahead and download
and then install. And I'll meet you at the other side where
we can kick start Aventurzov and see how
we can create a project. So until next time. Thanks
for watching and I look forward to meeting you
in the next class, Bye.
4. Opening and Creating a Project: All right, so in the last
class we talked about how to download and
install, venture resolve. And in this class we're
going to look at how to open aventsolve and
create a project. Okay, to open Aventsolve, all you need is to come down
straight to the launch part. Over here you can just click
on the launch part and you can go ahead and
search for Aventsolve. You can see it over here, vents. Okay. So you can just
click to kick start it. This is Aventsolve 18.6 Again, this is the one we're going
to work on for this tutorial. Once it's finished
opening you can see it's going to bring you
over to this very platform. This is where you can
create a new project. With this red
button, you can just click to start creating
a new project. These are recently used project projects that you've
worked on previously. You'll be able to
see them over here. Now you have the option to add in a folder and
then you can work on a particular folder within this particular project panels or within this local drive, You can create a
folder and you can change the view of the
folders from here. You can increase or decrease the sizing
of the folders, okay? Very easily, you can increase
or decrease the sizing. Over here, you can sort
according to date, timeline, and so on. You can arrange
them accordingly. Then over here, you
can change the looks also from the thumbnail
view to the least view. You can easily change that
if you're interested. But I think I kind of
prefer the thumbnail view because it's easy to
look at what you're working on and you can
easily hover over to have an understanding into what
the project is all about. Then down here, you can directly search for a
particular project. If you have multiple projects, you can easily search for a specific one and start
working on it directly. Alternatively, in addition
to using this new project, you can come down here
and create a new project. And you can start creating new projects also from scratch. Or you can click to open
and just kick start. And later on you can
name the project, okay. And then you have the
option to save your work on the cloud and you can work
on the network as well. But for this tutorial,
everything is going to be on the local drive and
you're going to have everything done
on your local drive. Let's start by
creating a project, by just coming over Share. You can just click
on this new project, and then we can give a
project a name, for example. Let's call this Spending
Some Time with Yourself. Okay, let's call this project Spending Some Time
With Yourself. And we'll just go ahead
and click on Create. And you can see this is
the title of the project, Spending Some Time
With Yourself. Okay, so this is a brand new diventuresolve
page that contains everything. Don't look confused
or don't worry in case if the
platform does not look exactly like your
own because we have about seven pages over here
that we can take a look. Okay, Sometimes you can open Venturesolve and need to
start from the editing page, and your platform will
look something like this. And right now it is at the court page and need to
look something like this, a bit different and
you get confused. Don't get confused because we
learn about all of them and each of their function and features and why are the
arranged in this form. Okay? But the basic one, general one is to stay at the edit men throughout
your editing. I'll show you how to use
all of this in detail, but then before
we start creating anything in the ventures off, the first thing I usually
do is to come straight down to the bottom right
and you see this gear icon. You can just click on it to
have the general settings. Okay, This is general
project settings. Okay, so the first thing I
used to check is to make sure the timeline resolution
is 1920 by 1080, which is the HD format. If it's not, you can
always change it. You can click to change it. And then the frame
rate usually go for 29.97 or 30 frame
rate per second. I can allow this for the timeline frame
rate and then you can always change
from here as well. The video format you can change, but this is the default I have. And then other me scaling, color grading, color management, general options, camera rule. I don't change
anything from here except if you have
a specific case, you can go ahead and check and then change it accordingly. But generally, I just checked the master settings
over here to make sure I get the 1920 by 1080
and then the frame rate, I set it accordingly. Okay. So if you're
done with this, you can just go ahead
and click Conceive. And I think you're
basically done on how to open and create a project
within damage resolve, so this conclusive tutorial. In the next class,
we're going to look at the general overview of
the Venturesove Platform. What is what and why is it there and what is
its basic function? Okay, We're going to learn about everything
that has to do with aventisolve and the key
features that we can have in this confusing
background or platform, okay? It's very easy to understand, Just follow along, and at
the end of the next class, we're going to familiarize
ourselves with most of the key features
of the interface. So until next time, thanks
for watching and I look forward to seeing you
in the next class, Bye.
5. General Overview of the Interface: Right. Hello and welcome back. In the last class, we
talked about how to open and create a project
within resolve, okay? And in this class, we
are going to look at the general overview of
the resolve platform. Okay? So when you open resolves, this is the platform you
will be welcomed with. This is complete resolve, so don't be intimidated by the looks and the complex
nature of the software. It's very simple once you follow this step
by step tutorial. Now by default,
you'll be welcome to the first page on resolve, which is cut, okay. So you can see you'll be
welcome to this page. This is usually the default, but it's not usually the best page to start working on. So from the name, this is
the main area where you do all your cuttings and joinings and all of the
trimmings and so on. You can cut different kind of clips across different
kind of things. You can make a lot of
corrections over here. So what you see
here is you can see to the left here you have
the video pool over here. This is where you import
all of your media and you can drag and drop them
into the timeline as usual. This is the preview canvas where you preview whatever you
have in the timeline. As you double click
on certain clips, also you'll be able to
have a preview of them also in the timeline. So
there are a number of things here which we're going to
look at as we move on. This is going to
help you in changing the view of the
media that you have, either using the thuminal view or you can use the list view, or you can sort the media
that you have accordingly, or you can search
directly from here. All right, so over here
you have other controls, like you can change the view
of the timeline and so on. You can just slit around
with this and here you can change the different kind of aspect ratios if
you're interested. But we've shown you basically how to set up the aspect ratio, but if you want to
change anything, you can change also from here. And these are some
of the other looks of the timeline.
Okay, You can change, you can change the
source clip and so on. And over here you have the proxy setence in cases
where you want to use proxy. Maybe later I'll
show you how to use proxy to minimize the sizing of your footage in
case of when you're dealing with four
K or thereabout. And then over here you have
this time line resolution. You can work on
different resolutions from the time line
that you have created. Then over here you
have the coloreds. Okay? If you're used to resolve, you understand that
coloration is done in a different way than most
of the other software. But I will show
you how to do it. But this is the
audiometer that you can always hear
about your audio. And then up here you
have the quick export. I'm going to show you how
to export, also resolved, there's a particular
page dedicated to that and then this
full screen mode. And this inspector,
the inspector is good because it gives you the properties of any clip or any media that you've
touched on the timeline, you'll be able to see
its property speed, a video, audio image, or even some effects that you can always easily
attach and control. You have a bunch of
controls over here, transitions and so on, images, you can have a lot of controls over them
here at the inspector. So this is one of the
most important tabs. Now over here you
have the sync tap in cases if you want
to synchronize things. And you have transitions, the bunch of transitions that
are available on resolve, which we're going to look at
each and every one of them. And as you hover over any, you'll be able to see the effect it's going to have
on your video. So if you select it, you can just easily go on and add it. Okay, and you have
a lot of titles. We'll learn how to play with
titles and text and so on. And how to customize
things accordingly. All the text editing
features will learn about them in the tutorials.
Then we have effects. The range of effects
that we have resolve a lot of them
and equally this one. As you hover over,
you'll be able to see the effect it's going to have
on your video. All right, and then we can
always come back to the media pool where
we import everything. And then down here we have
a bunch of other controls, like how to append your
media into the timeline, how to insert or
make quick replace. We learn about this as we
go on in the editorial. Over here you have the video
and audio only format. If you want to during
the editing to just import video
audio, you can do that. And here are some bunch of other simple controls like
looping of the video clip, moving one step, or
moving to the last frame, or to the first frame. You can do all this
from here, okay? And then down here is
the main time line. This is the playhead. As you know, you can always move with the playhead as you
bring in your media. You can always play around
with the playhead across. Okay, So there are other
things that we can talk about, but this is the cut page. The other page, like you can
see, there are seven pages. The first one is
usually the media. This is where you deal
with all of your media. Here we have the local drives that you have
connected to your PC. You can search from the
available local drives from here you can search
for media directly, and then you, from here, import it into the timeline
or you can on your own. Define a particular
location from here. Like if I want, at any given
point to go to my desktop, I can set a new location and I can just go ahead and
call it Is A Desktop. And I can just click on Open. And anytime I want to
refer to my desktop, I don't have to be going
through the folders, going through the sub
folders and be searching. I can just go ahead, come straight to the point and I'll find my
desktop over here. So once I click,
I'll be able to see all the folders in my desktop. And then down here you
have the same control. You have your media
pool over here. The cloning tool,
you have it here. The arrangement, like we said, we can change the arrangement from list view to
the thummil view, which I prefer, the same way, nearly the same looks. You have the audio settings and the meta data as well as the inspector and
capture feature. We look at how to
capture videos and audios will resolve as we
move on in this class. And then down here you
have the same media pool. You can always bring down your media and arrange
them accordingly. So this is about the media page. Over here, you deal
with importing and managing your media
from the media page. The cutting is just
for you to deal with the cuttings of
all your footage. You can just cart,
cart things over here. There are a bunch of
controls that you can only deal with cuttings. From here you can
just cut your things. The next page which is the most important in resolve
is the edit page. In edit page, this is where
you spend most of your time, is in the edit page, you can have all you need to
edit your footage. Everything is being found here. Okay. So you can just stuck around and you have
a bunch of controls, most of the features, you can have access to them directly. You have the same media pool and you have effects
and indexing. You have sound
library. If you're interested in having access
to the sound library, you can have your
tools over here. The texting, the favorite tools, you can find them over here. Same way you have
the preview panel and then the inspector property. Okay, You have the mixer in
case if you want to just directly access your audio and the quick export everything, you can have access to them
directly from the edit menu. Down here you have a bunch of controls in terms of editing. You have more controls
here that you can use, which we want to show
as we move on here. You can zoom in and
out in the timeline. You can change the views. And over here also, you
can change the view of the clips that you
have within the timeline. You can make them
the thornal view. You'll be able to see a
preview if you don't want. You can be able to make all clip view without any
previews to minimize the sizing and to promote
performance of the system. This is edit, we're going
to look at that in detail. This is fusion.
Fusion is actually something like the after
effects of Adb Premiere Pro. If you have used
Adb Premiere Pro, this is like the after
effects version of it. You do all of your composition, all of your animations
and V effects. You can do all of
them from here. Okay. There are a
bunch of controls. We're going to look at some
of the key features that you need to carry out some very
basic things over here. Here. Also, you can have the
access to your basic media, pool effects and clips
and so on and even notes. You can have access
to them directly. All right, so we'll
look in brief how to use some of these pages. Okay? And then next we
have the color page. And the color is
really a little bit of intimidating or
you don't have to be intimidated because there are a lot of things that
you can learn and it's very easy when you know how to play out the key features. But you'll have to
understand that there are key important things that you get to know as
regards the basics. So over here you have the primary color with
which are situated here. We have the custom calves
that you play around with, and then we have the
view controls over here. And then we have key frames, the same way we have a
timeline where we can preview. And we have a node
portion where we can situate our clips in nodes. So we'll be able to add different kind of
properties and be able to visualize them in different nodes and
how they function. All right, and then we
have access to effects and light box also if you're interested in having
access to light box. And then the same way you have your other features over here, you can check out the clips, media pool and so on. Can always refer to your
media from here directly. So there are a bunch
of things to learn, there are a bunch of things
to do from the color wheel. So resolve is designed in such a way that you can always
work on each of the pages. If you want to work on color, you can just go ahead and go to color page and work on it. If it's on Fusion,
you can go to Fusion. If it's edit you can just
stay directly on edit. Okay? The next page is Fare light. Fire light is
actually designed for audio audio management, okay? You can do everything
audio from compression to adding different kind
of effects in your audio, noise removal, reverb, you can do all sorts
of things from here. Fare Light is designed purposely for audio mixing and
audio management. You can do everything
from this fare light. Okay. We're going to
look at in detail, how to use fare light for your audio management and how to make sure that we get the best
professional looking audio within the firelight. Okay. And then lastly, we
have the deliver page. As the name implies, deliver means just
like exporting. Okay. So you export, video, all your creations
from the deliver page. You come here, you have
a bunch of presets. You can have H 264, the Master and H
Hyper deck and so on. You can have different kind
of actions if you want. You can go with the
custom export settings where you have to define
the name of the project, you have to define the location where you
want to save it, and then define what kind
of export you want to do. Is the video export, audio
export, or file export. You can just square ahead and specify some of
these key features, the frame rates and so on, which if you have defined at the beginning you don't need
to specify most of them. But then just to confirm, you have to make sure you go through the
sentence if you want. You can go through the
advanced settence as well. There are a bunch of other
things which basically, I don't touch most of
the things I find at the normal setence you
can set on your own. All right, so look
at the details, how we can go ahead and just
bring out the best quality. In our video, we'll
learn how to export in various formats from resolve. So this is a bit about the general overview
of the platform. Okay, and down here
at the top right, you can see the rendering que all of your work that you have. You'll be able to
see them over here. You can export
more than one file and you'll be able to see
the queuing over here. Okay, at the bottom
left, over here. This is when you can always
refer to the home tab. You can see projects, you can see timelines that
you've created and you'll be able to open and work
on different projects. Okay, so I think this does
it on this tutorial on how to understanding the
general overview of the resolve platform, what is it and what are some of the key features that you need to understand and
how to use them. As we move on with this class, you will understand the basics of how to use most
of these features. So in the next class, we
are going to look at how to import and manage our
media within Dvj Resolve. So until next time. Thanks
for watching and I look forward to seeing you
in the next class. Bye.
6. Importing Media and Creating Timeline: All right, so in the last
class we talked about the general overview of the resolve platform.
Okay? The interface. We've looked at all
the pages that we are supposed to work with
through districtorial. In this class we're going
to learn how to import media and manage media and
even create a timeline. Okay? Because resolve has this feature that you
can be able to create multiple timelines
and you can work on different projects using the timelines that
you've assigned. So I'm going to show you
in detail how to do that. So to import media, you have
to be at the media tab. Even though you can do the same when you're
at the edit tab, you can still see
the media pool. Or you can do the same when
you're in the pool tab, in the court tab when you can still work with
the media pole. Okay. But then the
most appropriate one is to do it at the media pin. So you can at the media
tab from the media, you can navigate to
your local drive. Wherever you have
your media situated, you can have it,
for example, mine. I have it in this ventures of tutorial and have the videos. Okay. I have them arranged in folders because it's
very important to stay organized when you're doing video editing so that
you don't have to mix things up and become
bored with what is happening. So important media, there are different ways, for example, the first one is you can come down to the master over here, you just write Click,
and you create a bin. If you are interested in
creating a bin, for example, you can create a bin, then you can just go
ahead and name it. For example, I can see
sample video editing futage. All right, right. So I can see here. And the first one is I can open this particular
folder under this master and I can
drag and drop futage. I can select my
footage from here, I can drag and drop
them over here. And then this is going
to pop up to change the frame rate and
other settings of my videos to align with what I have selected initially
as my project setting. And I wanted to
change so I can have all my videos and the settings that I have
within resolve to be at pace. Okay. So they can be the same. So this is the first one I've created this folder
and you can find all of my footage once I imported all of
my folders in this. And if I want I can upload the folders also
using another method. So let's go back to the
same venture resolve and over here I can right
click, select a folder. Let's do that with the
images, this time around. I can select the
folder, right click, and I can add the folders
directly into the media pool. And what this does
is it just adds the content of this folder
into the media pool. It doesn't add the folder
as it is like this. So let's give it a
try. And you can see it just added the
content of the folder. Now, I don't do this
because let me do this because it just joined all of the media together in one place. What I do is you can also add folders and sub folders
into the media pool, and it's going to
add all the content of the folder into
the media pool. What I do is I do the
third option which is add folder and sub folders into the media pool and Create beans. Okay? This one that
has Create Beans. And once I click on it, it's going to create an
image bin over here. So it's going to
create a simple bin, simple folder within
the master being. Okay. So you can be
able to see my images, you can do the same
for the audio, you can just do grade beans. And you can see all
of my audio have been imported under the images. Okay. So you can import as
many folders as you want. If you want everything
to be under the master, you can still come
over here and just click and you'll have
it under the master, just like okay earlier on, you have it on that images, so you can click and see move to the bin or remove bin And
it's going to remove that. So you have all of your features arranged like this
so you can have audio images and you have the videos that
you've imported. Okay, earlier on you reported everything
under this as well. So images and the video footage. The next thing is
we'll learn how to create now that we have
our media imported. Another way to do the same
thing is you can open your media from the folder directly where it
is being contained. And you can select everything
and maybe probably drag and drop them into
the media pool directly. And they're going
to be added into the media pool just like
the way we've seen it. You can drag and drop, it
doesn't matter whether it's a video or an audio.
You can do the same. You can just select them and
then you can just select and drag and drop them into
that particular folder. And they're going to
be situated there. So that is the power
of importing media and managing media within
the media within resolve. Okay, so that's one thing, importing media now,
using the media, you have to create a timeline. To create a timeline,
you have to come to the edit page and then you
can write Click anywhere. Okay? Right click over here and you can
see a new timeline. You can say, create
a new timeline. You can do that
with the command or mark or control on Windows. Let's create a new timeline. Over here, you have to
give your timeline a name. Let's call this
basic video editing. And then you can
change the settings over here like the stereotype. I don't change anything because
it takes in the default like we've stated at the project settence in the first place. But then if you want to have an advance use the Project Seens, you can click on this and you have the option to
change many things. So these are the
general feature. This is the format which if you want to change,
you can change. Over here you can see this
is adopting the page, the project settings that we've specified
at the beginning, the formats that we specified, 1920 by 1080, and using this frame rate
in 9.97 and so on. The monitor size, the output and color, I
don't touch anything. Usually the only
place where you need to touch is the formats, okay? And you can keep that
a default as well. And so if you are certain, uncomfortable with
what you have, you can just go ahead
and say Create. And this is going to create a timeline for you
with this name, basic editing, you can create as many timelines as you want. You can always change them or switch in
between the timelines, like you can create
another new timeline. And you can call it
sample sample two. This is another timeline.
You can work on it. You can import media also
into this very timeline, and you can work
on it separately. You can see multiple timelines that you've created from here. You can come to the top
here and you can see sample two or basic
video editing. And you can switch in between the timelines and
whichever ones you've selected you can go ahead and continue with your
edits over there. Okay, so this is
importing a media. Let's see how we can import a media into the
timeline as well. So to import media
into the timeline, you have the option
to start playing the media that you
want to import. For example, let's say we go
with something like this. I think this card, you can hover over it and you'll be
able to see the preview. As you're hovering,
you'll be able to see the preview on the
preview canvas. So let's say at this point I want to start the importation. At this point when it
just start moving, I can just hit on the letter
I to define my point. And I can just hover over to this point where
it starts going out. I can see I want this
to be my outpoint. And I can easily drag and drop this section
into the timeline. So let's double click on this. And we have our input and output now to drag and drop
into this timeline. There are two ways you
can drag and drop here. And you can see that
you've dragged and dropped the video and an
audio section of it. And this is the two sections
that you've imported, if you like, as you hover over the video.
Let's do that again. Let's double click, and as
you hover over the video, you'll be able to see
you have video footage, you have audio section early. If you use this, you drag this, it's going to drag on
the video section of it, only the video section. Let me undo this and then
let me see double click. And I want to import
on the audio section. So you can select and you can, and you can import
only the audio section of this particular footage. So just take note of
how you can import the media directly in
different formats. Again, you can just, on your own decide to
directly you want to import the whole of the media without defining the point and outpoint. You can just import it directly into the
timeline as well. And you can work
with it directly. Okay, so in a nutshell, this is how to import a
media into the media pool, as well as creating a timeline. And then importing the media into that particular timeline to arrange them in the timeline and just for using
different methods. Okay, so I hope you
enjoy this video. In the next class, we
are going to look at how to create new tracks and
how to manage tracks. And how to manage things within a particular track
in the timeline. Okay, before we go into
the basic editings, how to edit utage, we have to understand what
are tracks and how are they arranged and how can we rename them and other
features as well. So until next time. Thanks
for watching and I look forward to seeing you
in the next class. Bye.
7. Track and Inspector Properties: Okay, hello and welcome back. In the last class,
we talked about how to import and
manage media within resolve and in this class
we are going to look at the basics of tracks and
inspector properties. The last class, we
learn to import a media directly by just
dragging and dropping. Or on our own, select the point and
out point to drop. Or we can manually, on our own, decide
to select any point. Okay, you can define, you want to import everything, you can just drag and drop everything into the time
line, just like so. Now, when you import the
media into the time line, it falls into these two trucks. There are two tracks by default, the video and audio
section, like you see now, this video has a
video section and it has an audio section and
they are linked together. Now to the left, you can see you have a trucks name, okay? So you have V 1.1 which means
video one and audio one. This is how they are classified. This is the name, video
one and audio one. You can double click
to rename the truck. For example, you can see the
Card truck, for example. You can just call
this Card truck and you can just hit out. And these trucks now takes
in the name of a Card truck. You have other bunch of controls to the video track
and that you can see. You can disable the video with this or you can
enable it directly. Or you can use auto track
select if you're interested. And you can lock
the truck directly. And this means it cannot be
moved or edited directly. When you lock a truck, you cannot move it or edit it, it stays fixed and
you can unlock it. And then only then you can move it or change any kind
of its properties. Now down here you
have the audio track. You can as well rename it, and you can call it the maybe
trial audio for example. You can rename it as you wish. And then as well mute
it if you want to. If you use this mute truck, it means whatever you play this track is going
to be silent. Okay? This particular
track, whatever is on it, no matter how long it is, it is going to stay silent. And then you can solo a truck. When you solo a truck, what this means is
all the other tracks are going to be muted. If you have other tracks
that contain audio, all of them are
going to be muted. You can only hear
only this track. Okay? When you solo a track, all others will be muted. And this is the only
one you can share. You can do auto track
selector as well, and you can lock it
directly against any edits that you can no more
edit until you unlock it. Now when you select
a particular track, another thing that you can do is you can come to the right here, you have the track mixer. You can do solo of a truck, or you can mute it as well. From here, that particular
truck you're working on, again, you can create new trucks by just
coming over here. If you add the top
here, it means you can create video tracks. And it's going to add
a video truck just by clicking and clicking
on a new track. You can see it's added a video truck which you
can double click, Rename it as we've explained,
when you come down here, you can right click,
or you can just go ahead and see,
create a track. Now it's going to detect
that automatically. You're trying to
create an audio track and it's going to give
you this much option. Are you create mono truck or stereo truck truck or
however you want it? You can select the
properties and select that particular truck you're
trying to create for me. I go with mono, so I
create another track. So you can see we have
a number of tracks. You can create multiple tracks. If you're interested,
you can undo this. Please undo this as well. I want to show something
automatically. By default, when you move
a particular clip up, it's going to create
another truck. Okay? So you can see by
just by moving it up, it created another truck for us. We have now this to be
video two if you'd like, you can import this one
and make it video one. And you can import
the other one as well and make it
however you want it. And you can go
ahead and bring in audio and just attached to them, just like so, you have the audio track
video truck and you can work on all of
them as you wish. Now, this is about track,
which you have to understand before we start editing
or carrying out anything. Now, another thing you need
to actually understand and pay attention to is the
inspector tab over here. Whenever you select
a particular track, you'll be able to see the
inspector feature from here. What this does is it has
a range of controls, like in the video controls, you can see this
is the video tab. You have the transform
feature control, which means you can
zoom in and out. You can see we can zoom in, you can link the zoom in, and you can zoom in in both y and x direction.
This is all linked. If you'd like, you can undo this from here and you can link them. Once you have the linked, then now zoom in and out together, which is the best plan in the x direction and in
the Y direction. In the direction in
the X direction, you can clear out with them
directly as you saw Wish. So you can zoom to any feet. And then you have
the anch point. You can change the
anch point from here. You have a range of features. Like you can crop from the left, you can crop the image from the left, very,
very interesting. You can crop from
the right as well, or from the top or bottom
however you want it. So it's very easy and it's
accessible from using result. Okay. You have dynamic zoom in cases if you want to move in. When you enable dynamic zoom, you can be able to see
when you are playing the video, zooms in automatic. You can see it's kind of slow, but it zooms in
creating key frames. Okay? You can see
the literal zooming as we move on with the timeline. So I'll show you how to use
this as well and some of the basics where we move on
and you can swap the look, you have different kind of
composition composites. You can change from here, You can do speed change, we'll look at that
in detail as well. Real time scaling and so on. You can check out other super
scale different interests. So this actually has to do
with the video editing, video properties of this particular clip that
we've just selected. Everything, you'll be
able to find them here. All right, and then if there's
an audio attached to this, you can always check and access
its properties from here. Like the volume, you can
increase or decrease volume and then the dialect leveler and the pitch you can increase
or decrease speed, change, you can enable
the equalizer and so on. This other bunch of control, so you can be able
to have access to all of these still on the same image or footage
once you have it selected. You can still have access to the effects if you
are interested. Okay. So this is just the
video and audio properties that you can change directly
from the inspector panel. So you can do that across
all of the footage. Once you select a footage, you'll be able to know
if it is an audio, if it's a video, if
it contains both, you'll be able to
have access to both. Like this one is
just an audious. You may not be able to
have access to video because it doesn't have
a video part. Okay. So this is just a bit
about understanding the track operations as well as the inspector
properties of resolve. Okay. In the next class
we're going to look at the basic editings
within Daventry. Resolve, how to edit videos, do some cuttings, joining streamings within Daventrysolve. Okay? So until next time. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in the
next class. By.
8. Basic Video Editing: In the last class we
talked about understanding the track operations as well as the inspector properties
within your clips. In this class we're
going to look at the very basic editings
within Vent resolve. Now let's assume we
have these trucks, we've inserted
these very tracks, we insert them, have
this as the first one. We insert this one
as the second. Okay. It has some
audios attached to it, audio track attached to it. And then we can insert as
many things as we want. Let's say we insert
this one also that has this audio attached. Okay, so the very first
thing we need to understand is that while we are on the time line with
this selection tool, we can play around and we move the playhead to be
able to see a preview. In this preview canvas of
what we have on our timeline, you can move across and
if peradventure you have, maybe you want to define
a giving entrance. Or you want to trim
some ten, for example. I want to trim
from the beginning of this clip to this playhead. I can just navigate
to the edge of it to the point where this
Mcrosor turns into this sign. I can just select and drag, and I can see now I have
trimmed the other section. Okay. You can do that
from the left as well. When you go to the left, you can check and make sure that your cuso turns into
this horizontal sign. And you can drag
and move across. And you can see you've
trimmed that section as well. So one thing you should pay
attention to this type of trimming is that
it leaves a gap. Okay, so you can either select and then delete
from the keyboard. And it deletes that
gap that it's created. You can do the same on this one or alternatively, let
me undo this two. You can write click
and say delete, right click and
say ripple delete, and it's going to delete
that gap the same way. Here you can write Click as a Ripple delete and it's
going to delete the gap. Alternatively. Also you
can use the keyboard, you can use the shift
key and the back space, and it's going to do
the same deleting. Okay, so that is one
way to create a delete. The next thing is
to create a card. Now the next icon is
this trim edit mode. Okay, This trim edit mode, what it does is that
it does three things. The first one is it can help
you to maintain a clip size. And when you try to select it, right now it's active, you
can see it's red. All right. You can come to the edge and you can tell your
cursor turns into this, you can create a trim. Okay. The trimming of this
nature enters the clip, but then it leaves no space. You can see when you release it, trims from the
edges just like so, and it leaves no space. You can undo that. Also,
if you are interested, you can select and you
can trim backward. And you'll be able to see in each case when you're trimming, you can see from the preview, you have the preview
of the edge. Okay, The permanent edge, where you are right now in the playhead as well as the
next clip available to you. That's the one showing
on the right over there. Okay, When you release, then you have it
trimmed like this. Now the second thing
that it does is that when you come to
the bottom of any clip, you can see it turns from this to this narrow parenthesis. So you can select, you
can slide across a clip. And you can see
you can move into a clip using the slider tool. And you can do that
from left to right. Okay? You can slide across, you can move across
these particular slides. Okay? So that's the
second thing, okay? The last one is you can hold at the center and
you can be able to move across to define
a particular location, to define a particular width, even though keeping
the same width. But then you can see
from the top left, this is the ending. And then from the top right, that's the other ending
from the right hand side. And at the bottom is, you can see this is
the boundary clips. Okay, The one from the left
and the one from the right. It's just signifying
the end of the clips. Okay, so once you release is
the thuting that it does. Okay, So the next one is
the dynamic trim mode. When you have it selected and you select a particular clip, you have the letters J, K, and L. What the letter L does is it trims
from the forward. Okay. If you select a clip, it's going to trim
from the forward. It's going to enter
the next clip. And if you use a letter, it's going to trim from the backward. And if you press on
each letter twice, it's going to trim a bit faster. So let's take a look at letter L is going to
trim from the right, so just like when you
pre letter L once, if you press it twice, it's going to trim a bit faster. So let me undo that
and try that again. Letter L, it's going to
trim from the right, pressing letter K to post. And then if you
press on letter J, it's going to trim
it from the left of that particular clip
that you've selected. And when you press it twice, it's going to trim faster. Okay, so this is the basic
thing it does for your clip. So let me undo this and the next feature is
the razor blade tool, or you can enable that
with the letter B. From your keyboard, you can just sit on the letter
B and you can see if activated the blade
to. Let's move this. Okay, so we have the
blade tool and over here you can create a
cut at any given point. You just select and you can
just see you can create cut, You can split your
clip into any section, and once you're back with the letter A to the
selection tool, you can select and
you'll be able to see now you can move
your clips around. However you want
them and you can reshuffle and move them across
with the selection tool. So that's what the very
basic editing features do. Okay, so alternatively let me undo this and let me show
you a very quick way of also deleting or trimming
your clips within resolve. So the first one is we can do the trimming and cutting
using the shortcut keys. For example, we have the shift across the
open bracket tool. If I want, for example, to delete from this
point to this playhead, I want to delete
from this point. I can just hit on the shift and the open bracket and it's
going to do that for me. It has just done
the magic for me. Even though it leaves
a gap in between. I'm going to show
you how to do that to cover the gap which
is a ripple delete. So this is trimming
from the left. And let me do another one
from the right, for example, if from this point I want to trim from this point
to the edge of this, I can just hold on
the shift key and use the closing bracket and
it does the magic for me. Okay, so manule on my own, I can select this place and
just delete from my keyboard. Select here. And delete
from my keyboard. That's another way to do it. But then let me undo
these two actions. And then let's say I want to delete from this edge
to this playhead, but I don't want it
to leave a space. So to do that I have to
hold down the command key in mark or control
key in windows. So let's say I
hold command shift and then the open
bracket from left, so you can see it
does the magic, it deletes the trip, it trim it and then it
covers the gap in between. You can do the same thing
also when you hold in the command key and shift
and the closed bracket, it's going to trim from
the right over here. From this point to
the playhead covering the distance or covering
the space in between them. So you can see, let's do
that command shift and the common bracket and it
does the magic fantastically. So this is a very
good shortcut key to where we want to fasten
your editing process. So this is another way. The second thing
that you can see here is the inserting of clip. Okay, you can insert any clip
using this very feature. So let's say at this point
I can take my playhead to this point and I want to insert a clip, for
example, this one. I can just select the
picture of this card and I've defined the
point from here. Let's say the point out point
And I want to insert it, can draw directly, hit on this guy and he's going to insert the clip for me directly. So that's the clip over here. All right, that's
one way to do it. Alternatively, you
can undo this and you can have the next control
which is the override. Okay? If you select a
particular clip and then this clip that you're
working on when you click on override is going to override
that particular clip entirely and replace
it with this one that we're working with, okay? Alternatively, again,
let me do this, select this, and you can
do what we call replace. You can just go ahead
and select this clip. And then we can come over here
and say replace, replace. And you can see it is going
to replace that section of the clip that this
one is going to cover. Okay, It's going to
replace directly. So you can just go ahead and play around with them and then see how you can enjoy
working with them. Now, the next thing is
this snapping tool. If you enable it right
now, it's not enabled. So you can see in between clips, if I try to join this clip, there's no precision in the
connecting point, okay? You can not precisely get the point of connection
in between them. But then when I enable
this snapping tool, you can see it just
snaps in between. Okay? It varies, it snaps. So that's the beauty
of using this. Now this is called the
linking tool, Link selection. Okay, so once you select
a particular clip, for example this one that
has video and an audio, select the two of them
and then link them. We are linked from here. And you can see right now, you can be able to
move them separately. Individually. Okay? You can
move the video separately, and you can move the
audio separately as well. If you want to relink them, you have to select them together and then put on the linked tool. This is Global, so it's
going to link them again. Right now you cannot
move them separately. So you can link clips and
you can select these. Right now they are all linked. So you can click out
and you can see them. You can move them individually, separately, the round
being all linked. And if you want to
relink them again, you can select both of them. And then right click
and say Link Clips. And right now they
are linked together. Okay, You cannot move them separately. So that's
the beauty of this. Over here, you can lock
all the global settings, you can lock against
any kind of editing. If you enable this, you cannot
be able to edit anything. This is locking. And then over here you have
these two controls. This is label, this is markers. Okay, if you want
to add something, you can use the markers. For example, at this point you can select to add a marker. And when you double click,
you'll be able to see. You can add the name of
the marker, for example, Let's say coloration
and need to add color at this point so you
can give details, okay? Add saturation for example. And then you can
select the color that you want the
marker to have. And once you say done, it
takes in this as a color. If you want to remove it,
you can double click, say remove a marker, and it's going to remove that. Okay? So that is the beauty
of marker then right now we can see the next
one is the flag. Okay? You can add a flag
at a particular selection. Okay? You can add a flag
at a particular clip. You can select and you can
just go ahead and add a flag. And you can see the difference
between a flag and marker, is that a flag moves
with the clip. If you try to move this clip, you can see it moves
with the flag on it. Okay. But then if
it is a marker, if you try to move anything, it's not going to move
directly with the marker, but the flag does, it's
going to move together. Now you can select and
you can double click. And then you can
be able to change the coloration of
the marker as well. You can add it at
different clips. And then you can click to be able to change
the colreation. Can see right now we can
make a red color and you can give any kind of description also from here and click out. Okay. So you can see we
have two different types of markers and you'll be able
to have access to them. Okay, So that is how to
add the marker and a clip, and that's the basic
difference between them. Another icon you can see here
is the zoom feature, okay? So over here you can be able to zoom in the timeline
to see the details, and you can zoom out to be able to have more
space in between. Okay? So you can do that
manually with this wheel, okay? Or you can use the plot
sign to increase and the negative sign to decrease accordingly.
It's up to you. And then you have the
other features from here. This is custom zooming, okay? The first one to the right
is called the custom zoom. When you hit on it,
you can on your own, try to create a zoom. Okay? And then the next one over here is the full extent zoom. Whenever you click on it, it's going to give you
the full resolution. The full extent of the zoom
throughout the timeline, No matter how many
clips you have, it's going to zoom it to fit
the timeline on its own. So let's try to add
this one So we can see that the clips extend
across the whole thing. But since we have the selected, you can see right now it
fits to the entire screen. So let's have the next one. The next one is called
the detail zoom. The detail zoom gives
you the detail of whatever is across the playhead. Okay? It is related
to the playhead, so when you click on this, it's going to give you
the playhead detail. Okay? It's going to
give you the detail across the playhead. All right. So that is the beauty of this. So this is basically
it about all of the editing features that
we have here and what, and what you need
to play around with before already learned
about the track issues. As well as the cuttings and joinings and trimmings of different types using
all of these features. And over here you
have the option play and pause and move. Go to the last frame
and first frame, and you can loop
a particular clip against editing when you're
editing, during your editing. Okay, so I think
basically this does it, or this brings us to the
end of this class on how to do basic editing within a particular clip
in the timeline. Alternatively, you may at any given point be able
to have access to. When you select a clip, you can come to the
inspector and you'll be able to have the inspector properties
like we've explained. If it is a video only, you'll be able to have
the video properties like the cropping feature you crop from left,
right, and center. You can play around with all of these features accordingly
and you can undo from here, all resets from here. Or you can do the
global reset from here. You have the dynamic zoom. Maybe later also move on. I will show you how to
use it and we've shown in the previous class how to change the speed, the composite, the stabilization, we've
shown that it's possible to play around with most
of these features across real time
scaling and so on. So these are very
basic things that you can learn how to play
around with them. Like the zoom feature, you can zoom across the clip from left, right, and center, from x, y, and z axis. You can play around
with all of this. So I think this basically
does it on how to do basic editing within
the venture result. I hope you enjoy this video. In the next class,
we are going to learn how to add
basic transitions in between clips
so that your video can appear very much more
professional and nice. Until next time. Thanks
for watching and I look forward to seeing you in
the next class. Right.
9. Adding Transitions: All right, so in the last
class we talked about how to do very basic video editing
within the ventures of, and in this class we
are going to talk about how to add transitions. Okay? Transitions can be added in between two
clips that are the same, or different, or even in between a video clip and an image. In between images and so on. So they are just there to give the video some
professional look, okay, when it transit from
one media to another. Now to add transitions, there are four different ways. I'll show you some
shortcuts in which you can use to add the transitions
and some normal ways to add. The first way is you can come in between the two clips
that you want to add. For example, this first
and the second clip. I want to add a transition
in between the two of them. Let's take a look at the play, how it's going to jump
cut to the other one. You can see the play just
cuts into the other one, which is highly unprofessional. I want to add a transition
in between these two. The first method is I can come in between these
two clips and just select until both of them
turn into this red color. Okay. You can see it cut
across even the audio, Okay, so to transition
at this moment. At this point I can just come all the way
to the timeline. Over here, you just
click and you can come all the way
to add transition, conclude to add transition. Normally you will not see this, but sometimes you may see it. If you see something like this, just go ahead and see trim
clips and it's going to give you the most professional
look in the trimming. Okay, So it's going to
trim the clips and you can just go ahead and
add the transition. So if you look into it, you'll be able to see the
transition had been added. So let's hold down
the option key and use the mouse button to
just shift in between, and you'll be able to see
the transition had been added in between the clips. So you can just
shift this a little bit and you have the
transition added. Okay, so that's
the first method. And you can increase or decrease the length
of the transition. How long should the
transition be able to play? So let's have a preview of this. Okay, so you can see
it's cross dissolve. Okay, It easily cross
dissolve to the other clip. Very, very smooth and
nice. You can see it. So this is the first way
you can increase how long this transition should
be by just selecting. Make sure you have
the select menu. You can just select the
transition and you can easily come to the
edge and drag, okay. Or you can reduce the
length directly like this, or you can extend it however
you want it, this one way. Alternatively you can write,
click on the transition, or you can change transition
duration from here. And you can click, you'll
be able to change it from the normal 1 second to maybe 5 seconds
or 1.5 Or you can manually change it or you can
use the precepts over here. Okay. Up to 15 seconds, you can change directly. All right, that's
the second method. Alternatively, you can still
click on the transition. You come to the inspector panel. Over here, you come
to the inspector, you'll be able to see the
properties of video transition. So the first thing
is you can change the transition type by
just clicking over here. The default is cross
dissolved like you said. You can have this bandwith
if you select it. And let's have a
preview of this. All right. So this is bandwith and I think it's kind of cool, but you can play
around the number of them over here, this is hard. And you have the S you can
just select and you can be able to have a preview of what is going to
be as a transition. Now, over here, you can
alternatively change the duration by increasing or decreasing the
duration directly. You can see if you
notice from here at the transition the length
also is increasing or decreasing as you
increase or decrease at the same way goes to the frame
rate, they are connected. If you increase the frames, it's going to increase
the number of seconds. If you reduce the frames, it's going to reduce
also the same way you can always undo from
here or reset from here. And you can come all the way
and offset the transition and change the other
aspect ratios for example. Now when you come back
to the transition, you can change other
aspect ratio like the rotation, the love sign. And you can add in border if you want to add
borders, okay? You can change the coloration
of the border to something like this or to any
color of your choice. And you can change it to have
this easing or ease out. Usually the default is this horizontal or this slide line, white line, you can
see it over here. This is the normal one. But then if you add the
ease in or ease out, you can see the color changes
into this curve sign, okay? This is ease out. If it is ease in, it just turns
into the horizontal sign. You can see it's now carved. Okay. You can be able to
see even on the loft sign, it's now a bit carved, So that you can reset
anything at any given point. And you can change the transition
curves also from here, if you like, you can
change how big and how small it should
look like from here. All right, So you can
reverse it as well from the normal one so you're free to change anything
of your choice. This is audio settings that you can change as regards
the transition. If you change the audio profile also the default is cross feed. You can change so many
things over here as well. So that's the first method
of adding transition. The second method is you can just go ahead and
let me undo this. Let me undo adding the
transition as a whole. The second method is
you can just hover over the place where you want to add a transition and then you can
come to effect over here. When you come to effect,
you'll be able to come down here and see
video transitions. And you can see resolve has some default
transitions, okay? If you want to have a preview of what that transition
is going to be, you can bring in
your playhead to that particular point where
you want to add a transition. And then over here
you'll be able to see number of transition there. Once you hover over,
you'll be able to see what effect of that transition is going to have on your clips. In between these two clips
that you have, okay, You can check cross
dissolve and you can have cross dissolve,
the color dissolve. You can see it and you
can see smooth cut. All right, so it's all
boils down to you instead of you to have to put
in the transition. And then if you don't like it, you can remove it over here. You can just preview directly. Okay? So you have the arrow. Irish. Okay? So you
can just preview. This is a diamond iris. Okay? So you can
preview all of them. This is motion blur. All right? These
different motion slides. Okay? You can see them
of different types. These are shapes. I kind
of like slides sometimes. Okay? But then in some cases you may have this issue that
when you drop and drop, you will not be able to drop the clip in between
the two of them. That's because resolve has a way of adding its
own transition. It doesn't add when the edges are completely
edges like that. Okay, so when you come towards the end of this particular clip and you see your cosal sign
turns into this bracket sign. Okay? Horizontal, maybe
left bracket sign. When you try to click and hold, you see it's now
showing this red sign, which means this is the end
of this particular clip. The same way to this,
you come to the edge, you click and hold it shows the red sign which shows
it is the end of it. What we used to do at this point is you can click on the clip and then make sure you are on
this slide trim edit mode. You can just click on it
and you can come over here. All you need is just to slide the clip to the other
edge a little bit, and it's now slide in between. Okay, you can do
that in both cases. When you come to the
edge, you click, you'll now see that this is
not the end of this clip. Which means it's been,
it's been inserted, it's been trimmed a little bit, you come to this edge also
you can select this one. You come to this edge, you'll be able to see that
this is the end. You just have to move
this a little bit in. All right. A little bit. All right, so when
you come to the edge, you'll notice that
this is not the end. And when you come to
the edge of this, this is not the edge also. So both of them
have been a little bit inserted into each other. So you can use slight dissolve right now when you
drag and drop, you can now see we have
slight transition. So you can still
click and you'll be able to see how it
transits in between. So it's very easy and it's very cool just understand
the difference, resolve, have it in a
very different way. So you can just click
and you can still have the same properties of the transition and you'll be able to play
around with it now. This is light motion,
this is shapes. Okay. We have wipe
of different types, we have fusion transition
of different types. So all you need is just
to position your clip, your playhead at that
particular point. And just make sure you
hover over and you'll be able to see the effect it's going to have
on your transition. This is the second way. The third way is by
using the Alt plus, the same way we've
explained that you. Let's undo this. If you want
to do with the old plus, you can just go ahead and select the point where you want to
add the transition. This one then you can do if
you are in Windows or you can do option plus if you're on mark and it's going to give you
the same feature, you have to apply it
to trim the crips. And you can see right
now it's been added, the transition has
been added for you. Then another way is you can do option plus shift plus you can hold the clip that you
want to work with. For example, in this case
I'm going to hold this two. Then I will use
option plus shift and then drag it a little
bit into the other clip. And you can see right
now, transition had been added in
between the eclipse. Now the default is when
you hover over it, you'll be able to see
this is the default. This cross dissolve had
been applied as a default. If you want to
change the default transition that
you're going to have, whenever you create
a transition, you can still hover over any of the transition that
you're interested. For example, this
heart sign, okay? And when you write, click on it, you say, set a
standard transition. When you set this a
standard transition, whenever you add a transition, it's going to add this
heart sign as a default. Okay? So regardless of whichever method you follow
of the four methods, if you add a transition, it's going to come back to this. And if you want to remove this, you can remove directly, you can always come over
here and reset everything. So that is basically how to add transitions in between clips and try to customize them accordingly according to the content you
are trying to create. You can add across any clip of your choice
that you're working on. So I hope you enjoy this video. In the next class,
we're going to look at how to add texts. Okay, how to add and format text titles
within Davinci resolve. So until next time,
thanks for watching, and I look forward to seeing
you in the next class. Bye.
10. Adding Texts and Titles: All right, so in the last
class we talked about how to add transitions into
the timeline, okay? And customize it
however you want it. And in this class we are
going to talk about how to add text into your video clips and then make some editings, play around with some of
its properties, and so on. Now to add text, all you need is just to come to the
media pool over here. You can have this space. And make sure you select
this effect tab over here. All right, so you
select the effect tab, you can come all the way down here and you can see titles. All right, on
clicking on titles, you'll be able to see
that so many things. Okay, there are different
types of title from the basic title without any kind of animations
attached to it. Which once you hover over, you'll be able to see
what that title does. Okay? And what kind of
title is it and how it's going to appear
within the time line, okay, of your video. So you can select, for
example, in this case, when we hover over this title, you're going to see a preview of what the title does, okay? This one also is just
middle lower third, and this is the right
lower third, okay? Or you can easily select and customize it however
you want it. This is called scroll
because it scrolls across. So when you move
up, you can see it is moving up as a preview. And then you can still move down to see it move
down directly, the number of them. You have the fusion title, the call outs, okay. You can see any one of them. Depending if you're
explaining something, you can always use this call
out or you can use this one. This center review would
just appear just like that. I kind of like this
center review and I use it most of my editings. And then we have
the sample text, the lower thud of
different types. And I use this one
also, that box center. Okay, Just take a look
at the appearance, how it appears and how
the text appears also. So it's very easy and
there are so many of them. You can see this
one at the bottom, you can see digital glitch. You have it and
this one to really, really interesting, so they
are of different types. You can see them resolve has quite a number of text template that you can easily make use of and start editing
within your time line. So to bring in a
text all you need, let's start with the plain text. You can just go ahead and
select any text of your choice. For example, let's
select this simple one. Okay, let's select
something like this, basic title, you can just drag and drop it
into the time line. Okay? So it's just the way you drag and drop
any kind of media, the drag and drop text into
the time and also in resolve. Okay, So you can select it
and you're free to come to the edge and drag
it across any section. Okay? So this is a text, You can see it by
even the color and this letter signifying a text. So you can drag it and
extend it across and you can move it across to any
position of your choice. Once you move the
playhead over that, you'll be able to see that basic text that you have added, which if you have put it in
a place that is not white, you'll be able to see
it clearly because this is what is
written now to see the properties or
to edit this text because right now it's
written early basic title. If you want to edit
and make it your old, you can just select
it and come over to your Inspector
panel over here. If you don't see
it, just click on the inspector and you'll
be able to see all of the text editing properties
that you need to change. For example, you can select on this and say, welcome
to my channel. This is just an example. You can change quite
a lot of things. You can hight, you can change the font style of
different types. You can see as you move
cover over any font, you'll see how it is
changing on the main text. Welcome to my channel.
You can change the font. Face bold, you canalize. You can use regular bold, italic, an extra black. You can use all of these. Let's go with regular,
like regular, and change the color also. From here, you have the color features you can be able to change
across as you move. You can hover over and change
it at any given point. But I think white is
doing a good job. So you can select white
and you can just say okay to this to have
the much features. You can change color. You can
select color of any choice. You can change the sizing. You can make it
bigger or smaller. You can add in the tracking, you can extend the tracking, and by mistake, if you don't
want what you're doing, you can always come over to the edge over here and
double click on this, and it's going to take
it back to reset. Okay. Or alternatively,
let me undo this. And if you want to reset this, you can come over to the
tracking and double click on it and it's going to
take it back to the normal. Okay? And then over here
you have the line spacing. You can increase or decrease the line spacing
in case you have more than one line and you
have the font style over here, you can change even
the indexing. Okay? You can change the
casing font case. You can do all caps or
lower calves or there, but you have quite a number of features that you can
change from here, the alignment, Fred center
and call the position. You can manually on your own, automatically just
use the x and Y features to navigate and
change them accordingly. Or you can on your own,
double click on the text. And then you can easily
drag and move it to any position manually on your own to just specify
where exactly. You want to position it. Okay? So there's quite
a number of controls. You can zoom in in the x and y, z direction as well. And you cannot link this to do the zooming in the x
and y axis separately. And then you have
the rotation angle. You can rotate the
text to any point. Okay. If you want
to add a stroke, you can always click on this
or click on this to reset, you can add a stroke, you can add a color
to your stroke. Right now, you can select
on any and you can just add a color and you can increase the intensity
of that stroke. So let's say something
like direct color, okay? So let's say we take black and then we can
increase the intensity. From here. You can see we
have the intensity increased. But if you want everything, you have to select
from the text, you have to make sure
you select everything. And then you play around with
the features and come down here and you can increase the sizing and it's going to
increase across all of them. You can see right now
we have it increased. You can put in drop shadow. You can play around
with the drop shadow. If you want to have
a drop shadow, you can add the coloration
to the drop shadow. I think white color
might do a good job. And you can increase
the blurring nature or the opacity from here
or the offset angle. You can change the
offset also from here by just coming
and clicking on Okay. To this you can
change the offset. And you can see the
angle is changing. I think this is
doing a good job. The one thing you should
pay attention to is you can have this enabler,
okay? This tick. You can click to disable
all of the features, but it keeps everything
at the reset up, it keeps everything at default, you can off or on the
feature directly. And then you have the
background over here. You can enable background if you want to enable
background, okay. So once you enable background, you'll be able to define what kind of
background you want. You can enable
background and you can come down and you can play
around with the outline. Okay. Background color, what kind of color
do you want to have? And you can change everything. You can change the
outline color as well. Can change it to any
color of your choice. All right. And then
you can increase the width as well as the height
of the background, okay? So you can change the radius as well as the center feature. So there are quite
a lot of controls here that you can
change from here. So let's lower the
width so you'll be able to see exactly what you're talking about.
Something like this. Okay, so at any given
point you can reset or you can off the background
selection from here. So there's quite a number
of controls that you can put and you
can define exactly like I said earlier
on where you want the text to cover
in your timeline. So this is the basic one. From the plain text,
you can come down here and you can add
other existing ones. For example, in some cases I
may want to create an intro. For example, I select
everything and I'm going to move the yellow
bits to the side. And I want to add something
like an intro from here. We can just go ahead
and use something like, okay, I like this one, so we can just drop it here. So we can extend this. And we can just go ahead and select it. And come over here. And just putting
welcome to my channel. Let's take a look
at the appearance. I want everything
to stay at default. I don't change anything. The coloration and all. I want everything
to stay at default. If you have anything that
has to do with your brand, you can change from here. So let's have a look at how the introduction
is going to be. You can see the opening and
then how the text comes in. Okay, But then I want it to
be shorter so that we'll be able to see how it's going
to transit pretty fast. So take a look at the
transition, okay? It just move out. The intro is very
easy and it looks, looks very nice to have
your intros look like this. Welcome to my channel. And then it just moves out, so it's kind of
complete and it's very, very nice So you can
play around with all of them depending on
what you're creating, depending on what
you're trying to do, have a lot of lower
thoughts you can incorporate in
your video editing and reappear and look very, very nice and professional. All right, so it all boils down to you however you want it, you can make it okay. So you can set any
kind of lower third, for example, you may
have a lower third that. Let me show you one that
you can easily use, Okay, So even this one is good, so you can just drag
and drop this one. For example, if you're
delivering editorial, you can drag and drop this one. So let's see what this one does. For example, let's
extend it a little bit. Let's see we selected, so this is sample upper line. So assuming we can
select this and we can come to the title
can go up here. So we can just sample per line. So this is the upper text. So you can just,
for example, Dr. Shed, and then down here
I may want to have, this is the lower text. So you can select, I
can say instructor. Okay, instructor of this course. You can just have this as
your own lower effort. So let's see how it's going to play in cases when
you try to play it, just take a look at how it comes in and then probably how
it is going to go out. So take a look at
how it goes out. It's really, really
professional to have some of these texts in
your content, okay? Depending on what you're
trying to create. This is just a bit about how
to insert text and titles in your videos and
customize them from the inspector panel to however you want to
change the phones, change the style, and adding different kind of
features to the text. Okay, so go ahead and
experiment with your content. Depending on what
you're trying to create and see how you can
clear out with it, I think this conclusive storia
on how to add text titles. I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. Bye.
11. Adding Animations and Keyframes to Texts: All right, so in the last
class we talked about how to add the text plus within
the venturesolve, in this class we're going
to look at how to add animations and key frames
to our text within resolve. Okay, so in the last class, assuming we're going
to use the same text, welcome to my channel
and then we're going to add some basic animations to it. Okay, so let's start
with the animations. So the first thing you
need to do is to make sure that you select the
effects over here. If you don't see, you can stop the media pool because we've already imported
all of our media. You can use the
effects tab over here. You can just click and you
have the punched features. But what we're interested
in is transition. Okay, So we can come
to video transitions over here in the transition, like we've explained
in the other video, adding transition, when you
hover over any transition, you'll be able to
see the effect it's going to have on your media. But in this time
around, we're going to deal with only text, not the other features
to drag and drop a particular transition or effect as animation
into our text. Let's zoom in. And then you
can just drag and drop any, let's say we drag
and drop this one. And you can see we
have added an effect. Let's zoom out a little bit. And you can see it
over here, again, like we've explained
in the earlier on. You can select from here, you can extend it to define how long you want it to
stay on the clip. For example, let's
have a preview. So you can see the coming of the text and this is
how it is going to be. So when you select
that transition, you have the option also to
change it. This is Edge wipe. You can make it a box and just try to play
around with it. This is the entrance. I not like this but you
get the message. So you can have center wife
or clock, or the abbot. Let's say we go
with this bundle. Okay, so we can have a preview. Again, I think this is cool. Okay, so we can go with
something like this. Again, you can
extend the length of the transition by selecting it, coming over to the edge of it. And you can extend manually
like this on your own, you can come over here
to the transition a panel or you can select
to the transition panel. You can change all of
the features from here. So you can install under the inspector and
the transition, you can change all of the
effects in case you want to extend or reduce the
length of the transition. So in most cases, as you have
the entrance transition, you may equally want to
have the exit transition. So you can come all
the way to the exit. And less drag and
drop another feature. So less drag and drop
this at the edge. Okay, so you can
see it, the edge. So you have the option to take a look at how the text
is going to go out, is going to transit
to the next one. Okay? So I think this is cool, but if you don't want also
again, you can select it. You have this bunch
of controls to change around everything that
you want to change around. Now this is another
way to do it. Another interesting one is in cases where you want
to have a fade in. And fade out in your text is another way to add
animations to it. So let's go back to title. Let's go back to, for example, one of the most basic titles. You can come over here, let's say we select any of the text, all right, from the plain text, a basic one, we can just
drag and drop this. Then over here, let's say we
just put in something like, enjoying the beach, right? Enjoying the beach. And we want it to fade in and fade out. So as you select this text, you can hover over to the
top left or top right. You see this small white sign. If you click on it
and you can drag, you will create a
fade in in this text. Okay? Do you want to define how many frames
you want it to fade in? And you can create the same fade out by just
navigating over here, and you can create
that fade out. So let's see how this is going to be when we
select the text. Let's extend the length
a little bit so you'll be able to see how
it's going to fade in. So let's see the fading in. Okay, so it just fades
in on the canvas, and then it simply fades out. Okay, so you can
see the fading out. It's looking very nice. Okay, so this is another way to add an animation into this. Okay? So again, this
is about animation. You can add it from any kind of transition that we have here. The next one is how
to add keyframes. Okay? So keyframes are certain controls that
you can give to a text. You're writing it within
a particular point. For example, let's say this text is just
welcome to my channel and I want at this point to have some rotation
in the text. You can select the text, You can come back to the
properties over here. Let's say I want to
have some rotation. You can come back to the
main text properties, or you can go to transform, because we are talking about
rotation, this rotation. And you can come down here, you can see the point, these dots at these signs. This means that this
text is key frameable. When you select
this, you're going to create a rotation
along the x, Y, O, Z axis, Okay? On this very text. Let's remove the
fading and fed out. All right, so let's move the fed in and fed out. We
select the text. Now we want to add, let's move
it a bit out of this card. Now we want to add a
key frame to this text. So the key frame should be that it's going to rotate along, this exist, okay, So we're
going to insert some rotation. So we select the text, we'll come back to
the text and title, We'll be Reach Title over here. Okay? So you can come
all the way down here and we have a
bunch of things, other things that you
can play around with. But our target for
this one is rotation. So you can hit on this sign, this dot sign can
just click on it. And we've created a
key frame from here. All right, so now
from this point I wanted to enable
the key frame. So I wanted to do something, wanted to rotate like this. And then from that
point to this point, I wanted to have
another rotation again. So I click on key frame and I
want to rotate it this way. From this point to this point, probably I wanted to
have another rotation. So I create another key frame and make it rotate like this. Then from this point
down to this point, I will create another key frame. I wanted to go back to the
normal, okay, how it was. So I'm going to rotate
it back to this, something like this, All right? All right. So enjoy the beach. So these are the key films. I've put a number
of key films now to confirm how many key
films have been started, you can come over to this black
dot. You can click on it. And you can see right now we
have about four key frames. So let's see how our text
is going to behave on this. So you can click
and take a look at how the key framing is
working on our text. You can see the
rotation at each point. So this is the power
of the key frames, and let's kind of increase
the size of this. And then you have
the option to make the key framing smaller or larger because you
can move them around, you can drag and
move them far away from each other or
closer to each other. The closer they are,
the faster they are and the farther they
are, the slower. So you can see how it's slower. And then when you move
closer, it's faster. Okay? And then this
one is slower. That's the duty of it. You can add the key frame
at any given point. Now this is an example
with rotation, you can add key
frames on anything, be it zooming or zooming out tracking or increasing
the size as you saw. Which you can add it
at any given point and it's going to have
that effect on your text. Basically, this is how to add key frames and animations
into your text. Just square ahead and try it. Depending on the kind of content that you're trying to create, you can insert different kind of animations and key
frames to your text. I've just shown you how to have access to it
and if you're don't having access you
can always click back to collapse the key frames. Okay. So you can apply it
on any kind of control, on any kind of feature across in the text
editing feature. So I hope you enjoy this video. This concludes the tutorial
on how to add animations and key frames within a text in Devin Chisol, hope
you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching and
I look forward to seeing you in the next class. Bye he.
12. Adding Subtitles: In this class, we're going to
learn how to add subtitles within your video clips in the venture resolve
to add subtitles. Let's say we have
this audio that I've recorded as a sample audio, so let me just select drag it and drop it into my
media pool over here. And this is it. Okay. All right, so this is it. This audio. So we can drag it and drop it into the timeline,
just like so. And we are free to extend it so we can be able to see
everything from here. Now, another thing you should, let's have a preview of what
type to us are recorded. Hello and welcome to my channel. I'm the Rashid and I'm going to be the structor
for this call. So this is just a preview
of what type to us recorded hello and
welcome to my channel. So I'm going to use
this to add a subtitle. Okay, so we're going to add
subtitle to this manually. All right, so to add subtitle, all you need is still
come to effect. If you can see effect, you
can see effect over here. You can click to have it either. You can close your media pool, you can come all the
way down from the text. You can come to the text menu. You can still come
down, drag down, still come to this bottom. And you can be able to
see subtitle over here. Now once you over over it, you'll be able to see the
subtitle showing to add it to this particular voice
over that I've recorded. You can just drag and
drop it just like the way we do and different kind of
media into our timeline. So when you select this, you have all of these
text editing features. You can add different kind
of custom captions to this. You can write
directly on your own, and you can define the
timing however you want it. So you can add new caption
to this on your own, and you can move
across the captions previous to the next
using these buttons. Okay, so let's say
at this point I want to capture
the first minutes. Okay, Hello and
welcome to my channel. Hello, welcome to my channel. Okay, so let's say
up to this point. So I'm going to drag this, so it just stops here. I can trim it to this point. This how long I want. Hello and welcome to my channel. So we can select
and come over here, replace the subtitle with hello and welcome to my channel. All right, so what's next? All right, so let's say I'm
going to take it up to this, I'm Dr. Rashid, so we
can add. All right. So you can just select go
ahead and say I'm Dr. Shed. What next? You can
drag and bring it here And how long
is it going to be? So let's zoom out a little bit to be able
to see everything. Okay. How long is
it going to be? It's going to be up
to this playhead. Let's play it and see. Fine, So we have to
click Add another one. Bet. I'm going to be the
instructor for this course, so let's add another one. Add another one, so we can
drop and drop it here, so we can add the description. Okay, and I'm going to be the instructor and
come back here. Let's say we come back here, I want to type and I am
going to be the All right, the instructor now
for this course. Okay, we have another
one so we can add new and we can just
type for this course. Let's strike this
up to this point. Select the text and
we can come over here and just type
for this course. All right, for this course. And then the last
one is all right. The last one is thank you. So we can just add
new from here. And we can drag and make
it up to this point. And then we can adjust. Okay, so we have it
up to this point. So select this and just put in. Thank you. Select this
and put in, thank you. All right, so let's have a preview of what
you have created. Because you can
move also manually. From here you can move across to one different text or
you can on your own, go to the next, just
like we have here. But then let's start
from the beginning and see what we have created. All you need is just start. Welcome. I'm the Phd and I'm going to be the instructor
for this course. Thank you. I think this is perfect. So you go ahead and just explore it. Depending on what
kind of content you're trying to
create on your own, you can select on
any and need to just directly take you
to that particular text. Okay, so basically
this is how to add subtitles within
your video editing. Okay. In the Aventisut. I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in my
next class. Bye.
13. Adding B-Rolls: All right, so in the
last class we talked about how to add
subtitles within your video editing
in resolve and in this class we're going to
look at how to add rolls. Okay. So rolls are
very, very important, especially when you are
explaining a particular concept. You can always
bring in bureau of different types starting
from images to videos. Okay. You can bring in any media to showcase as your bureau. Now let's give an
example of this. So we can select everything. Let's say we delete everything and we can still come back to our media pool and pick
in some media, Right? So let's say we
pick in this guy, drag and drop it
into the timeline. Okay, just like. So we're
picking another one. Let's say we're
picking this guy. No, let's go and pick in this. All right, so let's say we have these two clips and let's enable this snap tool so
we'll be able to snap. Okay, so let's say
we have the two I want as these guys
are explaining, something in the bull
form should come in. Okay, in both cases. So let's start with an image. Okay, so we can import
an image into this. So as a b, this is the
main role explaining them. Moving for an adventure, maybe this is a vacation
adventure and then we want in some bull barros will come in images
in this form. So we can go back to media put and come to the
images and we can select any image that could relate to what we're
trying to explain here. Ming, the image of this
guy is something we need. We just drag and drop it
in the timeline and you're free to extend it
across to any point. Okay? And you can
select and move it to any point of your choice just to define what you're
trying to create. And then you can
select over here. So once you move
over your playhead, you'll be able to
see that particular roll that we've added. This is the Errol, this is roll. Whatever comes in ahead of the Er role is called the roll. When you select this image, you have the image
properties over here. All right, So you have
the properties over here, such as the transform feature. You can zoom in and
out, for example, you can just go over here
and you can zoom in. It fills up the
entire screen, okay? And then you can
change the position in the x and where s just like
we've explained earlier on, but I think this position is. Okay. So you can just
go ahead and play and can have a preview of
what we've just talked about, okay, from this video. And the image is just going
to pop in into the media. Okay, so you can see that we can explain our concept,
whatever we're explaining. And then up to maybe
probably this point and then it just transit
back to the next point. All right, so you can see
it now transit back to the tourists and then we can
continue our explanation. This becomes very much
interesting when we zoom out a little bit and then when we
add some animations to it. Okay, so let's add some
transitions into this. Selecting it and
come back to effect. And then we can come
to video transitions. And we can just
adding something, let's have this crosses off. All right, so we can just
drag and drop it over here. And we can extend this a little bit, we'll be able to see this. And we can extend the
transition also we have another one crosses off out at the other one,
at the other edge. Okay, so let's have a preview of what we just talked about. So we can see it
just transits in. Okay, we have this image
and then it's going to equally transit out into
the main tourist tite. Okay, so this is
very interesting. So this is how to
add an image as a bureau within the ventures up. And you're free to add in
any kind of video as well. So this is images,
you can add a video. So let's have this video
of this cart or this one. So you can just
drag and drop this, assuming I don't want
this audio section. So I can just write click. I can select and
say or link this. All right. So I click out, so I can select this
manually and delete it. So I want only this. You can just drag
and drop it here. Define the position
however you want it. You can just stream
it from the edges. So let's stream from
both edges over here. And we can define a
specified location. Again, while we're
explaining this, this comes in quickly. This comes in and
then maybe you're explaining the entrance of this cable car and then comes out. Let's see how we're going to add in transition
to this as well. You can select it, We have
other properties that we can do from the
inspector and we have the video properties
also over here. You can play out with
the zooming effect. And zooming out so you can play out just like the way
we've done in the image. You can play out with the sizing and so on and all
of these features. You can have cropping,
dynamic zoom, and so on. And then over here we
can just calm down. And let's add some
transitions to it also, so that it becomes a
little bit better. So let's have this
motion, this push, okay? So we can drag and we
have it inserted here. Let's have this slide out, so we can drag and
have it inserted here. So in the video also, it's going to have some
transition into it. So you can see it just wipes
in and it just push out. All right, so this is the
power of having transitions. You can extend
also the length of the transition however you
want it also within the clip, so you can see how it pushes in and then how it's
kind of push out. Okay, so that's the
beauty of adding bureaus, you can add it on anything, either an image or a video. All right, so the
whole idea is just to introduce the concept of adding bureaus
into the timeline. So you can import it and then you can bring it
into the timeline and position it however
you want them and whichever position you want. And then you can add different
kind of emissions to them transition so
to make them better. All right, so I think this
concludes this total on how to add bureaus within the
timeline interventores of. I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in the
next class. Bye.
14. Adding Audio: Well, in the last class
we talk about how to add roles within our
clips in venture resolve. And in this class we're
going to talk about how to add music and probably
sound effects, okay, to a venture resolve. And then play
around with some of the basic editings for Odio. So to add Odio, the first thing I usually tell my students is, where do you get copyright free? Odio. There's a
website called The Pi, where I can get all of my music and sound effects
that are copyright free. So once you come
to Pix.com you can come all the way here and
you can be able to select, you're looking for music and you're able to search
for any kind of music. For example, background music. You can just hit on it
and you'll be able to see different types of music
that you can download. You just play a preview and then you can just go ahead
and download it from here. And it's just going
to download for you. And once you
download your audio, you can just come back
to the Ventures off and you can be able to
import it into the media. For example, you can come to this audio and right
click over here. You can come all the way down
here and see import media. So you can just navigate to wherever you have that media in your system and just click on it and just import directly. So go ahead and select
that particular location and then define the media and just go ahead and import it. All right, so I've
imported mine, so let's say we have this
media that I've imported and we can just easily drag and
drop them into the term line. So let's say I have
this dream escape, so you can just
drag and drop it. So what used to happen is when you drag and drop
a background music, it usually comes
very, very loud. So you have a bunch of controls
that you may want to add. So for example, I want this
to cover up to this point. So let's have a preview. Usually when you add audio, it comes in very, very loud. You can hear preview. I think this is quite
loud and you can change the loudness
and you can adjust. Sometimes you may
want in some part of the clip to be silent
or some to have a variable volume in terms of the audio you can play around with all of these within
the venture resolve. Now the first thing
you need to notice is that my background music is longer than the entire clips that I have for this tutorial. So I can come over
to this section, to this edge, okay, and just select and you can use the resolve Bled tool
and you can use the cut. All right, and then
you can get back to the selection tool and select
this section and delete. Now this is the first way, usually I used to
fade in and fade out, so that it doesn't just die out abruptly when I'm playing. Okay, something like this. It doesn't just die out. So I can just insert, come to the top right
to this white dot. When you see your cosor turns
into this horizontal sign, you can click and drag and you can have the fed out directly. And you can have a
feed in as well. It eventually makes your audio to sound a little bit normal. Yeah, I think that's okay. And it sounds very nice to die out clearly
just like that. So this is one way to play
around with the volume. There's another way, if you want to generally play
around with the volume, you can select that
audio and it can come all the way to
the inspector tab. Over here you have
the audio controls. Over here, right over here
you have the volume control. You can drop it down to maybe negative 15 as we are
reducing the volume. You can see it over here
in the volume profile. It is equally reducing, you can reduce it to
something like negative 20. Okay. Negative 12 is okay, right? I think this is okay. But if you don't want, you
want to manually reduce it. Let me show you another
way to do it so you can undo this so it has
the full volume. Now, when you hover
over over the video, you can come to New Point. If you're using Mark, you
can use the old key until your Coor turns into this Vertical arrows
up, you can see it. You can just select and you can, and you can play around
with the volume of the, you can select, you can play
around with the volume. So for example, you can select and you can see
right now you can reduce or increase the volume of this particular clip
that you're working on. Okay, so you can see you
can reduce or increase. Now if you don't want to
increase, this is the global, which means we're increasing or decreasing at the entire clip. If you want to reduce
it at some point, maybe probably increase
it at some point. There are two ways
I used to do that. So for example, you can
come hover over again. Hold down the old
key Efazin windows or the option key Efsing mark. So you can just click and it's going to create
this dot for you. Okay, So you can go on to the next point where you
want to create that shift. You can still hover
over and then you can create another dot, right? Now you can be able to, let's say we zoom this
out a little bit so you can be able to see it very clearly what I'm talking about. So these are the
two dots I created. And if you want to
create a fade in, you can see we can select them and you can
reduce the volume. Over here it's one volume, and then over here
it's another volume. Okay. So you can play around
with them on your own. You can manually increase and then decrease the volume
on this section as you, so the music is going to play loud at this section
and then play low. Okay. It's going to go
down at this section. And if you want to, you can
add one more here so you can make more meaning from here. You can try to increase
the volume. All right? So you can come over
here and you can see that you can increase the
volume from this end. All right, so with
reference to this one, so let's say we
create another dot. So let's do this
from this point, we create another dot. All right, so hold down the option key and
then create the dot. So we have to here reference
to this small one. You can just come
over here and you can see we can increase the
volume from this end. Now this end is having a different volume only
that it just fits in, fades out, and fits
in to this volume. So let's have a preview of
what I'm just talking about. Yeah, that's it. And then from the smaller volume and it's
just going to accelerate up. Yeah, that's what
I'm talking about. Usually this is the
first way I do that. There's another
way also I do it. So you can do this in both
cases. Remove the dots. Another way that you can
install the same transition, but then with the fade
in is for example, you can use the razor blade
tool and just create a court maybe let's say at this point I need to create the court here. So you create the court here. And then from this volume you want to die out to
a smaller volume. So you can go back to
your selection tool, and then you can come over here, over over this until you have
your coal turns into this. You can select lower
the volume at this now. Now what this means is if
you're playing at this volume, it just abruptly go silent
to the second volume. This is okay, but sometimes it's abrupt and it doesn't
look professional. What I do in this
case, I'll just select the junction or the
transition point in between the two volumes. I can just write, click and
say add cross fed frames, 12 frame cross fed. So I can just select so you can see we have added a cross fed. It's just going to fade out. It's just like the same
thing we did with the dots. But then this one is
much more better. Let me show you
why it is better. You can zoom in,
we'll be able to see. It doesn't just abruptly
enter the second one, it just dies out with the Fed. And this has an
advantage because you can drag and move it
across to any point. You can decide where you want the cross fed to
increase or to start. This is very movable, you
can do that with the dot, but sometimes it's abrupt and
you may make some mistakes. Because if you are not
so used to the dots, you may make some mistakes, but this has a better advantage. And you can select the cross
fed or the transition. And you can increase
it if you want. You can increase the duration
or the length if you want. And you can position
it anywhere, again, like I've explained. You can position it at any
point to start your creation. Okay, So this is playing
around with the volume, okay? So you can still select that, any section of the
clip or the audio. And you can still come
back here and you can play around with
the volume control, you can play out the pan
control dialogue, the pitch. You can set in the speed change if you want to change the speed, which we're going
to cover later, maybe true the tutorial, we're going to look at how to change the speed
and then we have other things like
the equalizer you can enable and play around
with the equalizer. I'm going to show you
how to do that in the fear light very much sooner. Okay, so I think this concludes the tutorial on how to insert music and
play around with it. Maybe do some cuttings, can cut and join things around. You can edit things, you can add cross
fades in and fade out. And you can play out with the volume on
your own manually, or you can use the white line to kind of increase or
decrease the audio. Okay, so in the next
class we're going to look at how to use
the Fear light in the ventures of to play around with our audio or to enhance the audio to some better
level so that we can sound a bit better when
you're creating a video. Okay, so I hope you
enjoy this video. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in the
next class. Bye.
15. Basics of Fairlight: Okay, so in the last class
we talked about how to add and manage audio within the
vent, resolve timeline. And in this class we
are going to talk about how to use the fair light
to manage your audio. Maybe to add in
some key features that you cannot find
at the edit tab. Okay, so usually the edit
tab is for general function. Sometimes you can, like we've explained in
the previous video, you can select a
particular audio and you'll be able to have
access from the inspector. You have access to most of the key editing
features of audio. Okay. You have a bunch of controls that you can work with. But the main thing,
the main concept, the main editing of audio
takes place in the fare light. That's how the venture resolve
is being designed to work. Okay, so for this tutorial we're going to look at how
to use Fairlight. Now from the editor
you can just go ahead and click on Fair Light to
start editing your audio. Clicking that, you'll
notice that you are brought into this
very kind of complex, but it's very simple platform that you can directly work on. So what you see here is the
timeline, the main time line, all right, where you can have access to all
of your audio. Okay? It doesn't bring in
any video footage here, but all the audio footage, you can find them and you can select and have
their properties. And you can play around with
their properties over here. So this is my background
music and this is the audio that
I have inserted, the voice over that
I've inserted. Okay, so let me just
show you a bit about the far lights platform so
that you can understand. It's just like the normal
platform that we have. We have the media pool.
If you want to enable it, you can bring it up
and you can import, drag, and drop your media. Or you correctly can go to
import media and you can import your media directly very easily. And then
you have effects. If you want to enable effects just like the way you
have in the other view, you can enable effects indexed and you can have the
sound library and so on. You can enable all
of them from here, only in most cases, I try to free all
of this so that I can have the timeline
to be a bit free. So you can have access
to full access. And you'll be able to work
with it directly now. You have the layers of tracks. Okay. Like I said,
it's only the audio. If you want to see
the video tracks, you can come over here to the
top and this timeline view, you can display,
track, display, okay. You can come to this
one, video tracks, you can be able to see the
video tracks from here. Okay. So it just
helps you with that. So you'll be able to see
all of your video tracks. I always like to have it
this way because it's easier so that you can know where you are in the
editing process. Okay, so this is it. At the top here,
you have the meter which is a bit confusing
but it's nothing serious. You get to understand it. And then we have this controls, these are body controls. And then over here we
have this preview panel. Okay, this is where
you can preview all of the video footage. You can be able to
preview it from here. Again, you have the meters, you have the inspector, you have the method data that
you can always work with, and then where you
have the mixer. Okay. The mixer is usually looking complex,
but it's nothing. Also, you just
have the option to check out which truck you
are specifically working on. This is audio two. This
is audio one, okay? Audio two, and so on. And then all of
the editings that you carry out should
be on audio one, If you want to target audio one, or if you want to
target audio two, everything should
be on audio two. Let's say we select
this, let's say carname, the audio, you can just select. You can rename the truck and
just select and make it, let's say this is
voice over, all right? So you can click out, this is voice over and then this
is background music. So you can just
double click and say background music and select
and say background music. Okay, so you can click
out and you have voice over and
background music to add any feature to
enable to kick start adding any feature within
resolve or within flight. You can extend the view so that we can be able
to see the details. You can do that from
here using this detail. You can click and
you can be able to see all of your
audio very clearly. Then you can do the
extension also from here. So you can extend the
length so you'll be able to see very clearly
what you're working on. All right, so we can use the playhead just like the way we have in
all of our editings. You can click to start
hearing what you have. All right, so let's see. Welcome to this course. And now usually what I
used to do is before I try to see how I can
enhance any kind of audio because this voice over have
recorded it using audacity. And I think this sound
is a bit better, but we can make it
better with fear. Light in the adventure resolve. Usually I used to have
the before and the after. So let's say we have
a section of this, so let's say we have
a section of this. Let me use common B to create a split in between
the two clips. All right, so I can move
this one away and then probably can delete this section just to make sure we have
the defore and thereafter, so we'll be able to hear
it very, very clearly. So we can copy this, then we can paste
it somewhere here. All right, so let's move
this to the beginning. Move this over here. We have two clips
which are the same, but then we'll be able to add the details or the changes
on the first clip. So let's move this
to another truck. Okay, so let's say we move it
to another track and so we can be able to have our effects
on this voice over track. This is audio three now. Okay, So let's say
now on audio two, we can be able to go ahead
and give our changes. Okay, so let's go back to
audio two and this where everything is going to happen to so we can come over
here in the mixer. This where you have
the audio two usually have a bunch of impute devices. Imputes that you can add. At this point, I don't
want to add anything. Track effects, and
then this order, you can change the order
in which you want. You can click on this and you have these different orders. The effects to dynamics, to EQ, effects,
EQ, and Dynamics. Usually I go for this one. Eq, effects and dynamic changes. Okay? So you can select on this and then I
want to cope with it. Then usually one of the most important point
is the effects, okay? You can hit on this plus sign, you can see multiple effects, then you can add without you having to add on a
particular clip. You can add on the
entire track, okay? So you can see channel display
distortion dynamics and Q, okay, so usually I add EQ, so you can go ahead and add EQ. And let's say I add the
parametric equalizer, so I can select on this, and you just added it directly. All right, So you can hear the before and the after
if you are interested. All right, so right now we've added the parametric equalizer. You can click to how we change, but you can hear some changes on this course and
the guide this. All right. So parametric
coalitor is not enough. We have to click on
the plow sign to add others like the dynamics. So we do add the I do add sometimes I
do at the restoration, the first thing I do is
the noise reduction. We can come over and noise
reduction and you have a bunch of other
different things less close on the equalizer. Okay. There we have a bunch of other things that you
can try over here. Data detection, sin, the output, you'll
be able to see that. Mostly I check on
these defaults, there are some presets that are given very, very nice results. Mostly I do select the
rumble, all right, So you can see the
profile from here and you'll be able to hear the
input when you play it. You I'm welcome to this
course and Dr. Rashid app. I think this sound is a bit different from the
one that we do have. There's a bit of
enhancement in it, but then again you can clear out with the sensitivity
by coming over here. You can just drag to the left to increase the
sensitivity or reduce it as sows and Dr. I think this is very, very nice. And it is very sharp when
compared with this one. So Leia before. All right. Let the before. Okay, I solo mute this. Let me calmuttlomutet. Okay, so we can hear the before. Yeah, I think there's
much of a difference. It's sharper over
there. So let me. So this, it's very much sharper. Come to this course
and the pache, yeah, that's perfect
and that's fantastic. So you can just try to see which one works
for you better. But for me, the I
usually go with the rumble and then
I can close on this. Okay. I don't touch much
on the other features, the wheels I don't touch. And then we can add
other features. Still selecting and
still on the two track. So you can come
over here and you can just go ahead and
click on the plus sign. You can add the,
sometimes you hear the sound is quite visible
or it's quite pronounced. So you can use the do
add the S sometimes. And I don't use the default come over and I use the Mal okay. It helps me to reduce the sound, the intensity of the manually play around with the feature. Also from here, the
intensity, okay, The amount of the SR, you can reduce it over here. But you can still play within the clip to here where you have the S and how it's
being pronounced. Electra, Love Creek. That's good. But
then let's try to on our own manually play
around with this. This is good thing
around here is okay. World video editing. All right, so I think
this is okay at this moment if you want to reduce the intensity
a little bit. But I think at this
moment I like what I see, so I just go ahead
and close on this. Now, another thing I do
add is dynamics, okay? So I can come to the dynamics
obvious and double click. And then you can go ahead and
change a number of things. Usually I don't
touch much on this, but you have a
bunch of controls. Like the gain reduction, the make up, the output
selection and so on. You can play out with
the features from here, you can increase or decrease the make up from here,
but I usually keep it. At default, what
I do is I come to the presets and I
use Dialogue Basic. That's the one I
use Dialogue Basic, and it gives me
this much settings and everything is super. Let's before this, I think it gives it a little
bit of a perfect sharp. Let's before. Okay, I mute at this. Let me slow this a hello
and welcome to discourse. I think this is much better. Okay, so I don't trust much. But this is okay
for the dynamics. Okay, so you can
close on this and then we can come
down here to the EQ. You can do the EQ also
from the edit tab. If you click, you'll be
able to see from the audio, if you select on the audio, you're able to have
the EQ also from here. You can see this is,
this is equal Ader. If you enable it, you can carry out nearly the same
operations here. But then I prefer everything
to be done on the flight because this when
you have access to everything in detail. So let's see the
EQ, you just double click on this particular
track and you have this dialogue appearing and you have a number of things
also to choose from. This appears in band 234.5 okay? So you can be able to see the bands when you try to
play around with them. You'll be able to hear how it's going to affect your music. And you go to the top
light your audio. So let's hear for
this, All right. So let me slow this again
and welcome to this course. So let's bring it down so you
hear the difference between what I was just talking about
and welcome to this course. You guide this adventure. Elect a speaker. I love creating content. In this course, we're taking
the world, video editing. All right. So I
think this is okay. So you can take this
up and then hear what it's usually it's try on your own and see
which one works best. And welcome
discourse. All right, so let's bring this
down in a repeat. You can see the
difference, but you have to keep it on
top of this line. Then you'll be able to
see that it gives you a more composed sound
that's perfect. But then if you want to
go with the presets, I think it's perfect also
to go with the preset. The preset I usually use
is this dialogue. Mel. I usually use this
dialogue, Mel. So you can just
select it and you have everything in the
preset level, okay? Depending on what you're
trying to create. You can play out with the
features if you're interested. You can vary the frequency and you'll be able to see
which one you can vary. But at this moment, let's
hear the previews to hear what changes it has
given to our voice over. Hello, I'm welcome
to this course, and I think this is fantastic. Okay, It sounds very,
very nice and good. So basically this is
what I do add, okay? In terms of the gain or
voice over the sound. I can increase the gain from here or reduce it
directly from here. Okay? So I usually
increase it a little bit, but then for you to know
exactly what is happening, that's when the meters
now comes into play. If you see the red sign, it means it's speaking. So you have to reduce
the voice lit. So let's hear that. I
think it is speaking. So we can just reduce
bits of the sound. Okay, so let's reduce it.
I think this is okay. But then you can increase
it a little bit. Yeah, I think it's okay. So this is just a bit about how we play with
Odio within resolve. Okay, How do we add
different features? Like I said, again,
you can have access to the same feature when you
are back in in the edit tab, but then the same way that
you have in the D tab, you can equally have the other audio properties
from the inspector. As you select the audio, you can come to the
inspector tab over here like we've
explained earlier, you'll be able to have access to all of the volume control, the pan control,
the pitch control, and all the speed change
equalizer and all that. You'll be able to have access to all of them you can select and then you can play around with the equalizer as well from here. Basically, this is how to
play around with your audio. You can just go ahead
and give it a try, import your audio
and see how you can manipulate it and
add some features, add some effects and see how
it's going to be improved. But resolve is really, really fantastic and is very, very perfect when it
comes to audio editing. I hope you enjoy this video. Just go ahead and give it a try. This for just beginners use. In the next class, we
are going to look at how to add correation
within resolve. Okay, correation is
another key feature that resolve is really,
really very good at. And that's what we're going to consider in the
color tab over here. All right, so until next
time, thanks for watching, and I look forward to seeing
you in the next class. Bye.
16. Adding Colouration: All right, so in the last class we talked about how to use fair light to enhance our
audio within Aventisov. In this class, we are
going to look at how to enhance the color of footage
within Da Ventureso. Just picking some colors
and make some enhancements to maybe bring out the
beauty of using color. Now Venturesov have it very different when compared
with other video editing that you can edit
everything in one place. Vent resolve has a specific
page for color correction. So let me start from the
edit page. Let me add this. The media, okay, this one that we have is a bit
flat and it's very easy to show you the enhancement and the color correction in it. This is a raw footage
from the camera directly. So I'm going to enhance
this using vent, resolve to start enhancing or to start working
on color mind you. This is a very basic tutorial designed strictly for beginners. If you're an expert or if you're an experienced user better,
you check another video. But for this to start
color correction, all you need is come to
the color page over here. You just click on
the color page. And what this does is it opens up the
footage that you have. Okay. Don't look confused
because it might appear too confusing or too
complex to confuse you or thereabout has nothing
to be confused about. It's just when you understand how it works, it's very easy. So these are the
footage that you have, it just brought in the footage. You can use the playhead to navigate across to
see your footage. Okay. Very easily, you can navigate around
to see a preview. These are the video
footage that you have. This is view one and V two. This is the videos
that you have. This is the roles that
we've added in the video, if you could remember.
And then these are the few pages arranged
accordingly from the editor. Right, so over here you
have a preview panel and then this is
your media pull as usual devient have share the same timeline for all
the pages that we have. Okay, so it's very easy
to navigate around. This is the preview panel and
over here you have this as the node panel where you're adding different nodes
for color corrections. You can add different notes
and you can work on each one of them separately
or simultaneously. All right, so down here you have a bunch of other features. This on its own, you can have a complete course
about how to use coloration in Diventsul because this is the industry
standard software. It's equipped with quite a
lot of features. All right. So in the color, you have
the color wheels directly, primary color wheels directly from the bottom left over here. And you have a
number of options. Also you can see different,
different other features. But for now, our main concern at beginner level is
the color wheels. Okay, Primary color wheels. Then we'll talk
about the curves. Also the curves incorporating different kind of colorations. Over here we have the
RGB colors, okay? So you can play
around with them. Then at the bottom right, over here you have the S.
All right. This is the S. Make sure that the scope is just what guides you
during your editing, but then before you
start anything, I want to show you how to make sure that all
of your color, everything is being
done correctly and you're having
what I'm having you come down here to the bottom right and click on this icon. And then if you come
to color management, you just be able to confirm
that the color size is Da Vinci Y RGB and then the
color output is rec 79. Just make sure this is correct and then you save it. All right. So what you notice here is that we have the gamma, do you
have the lifts then? We have the Gamma,
we have the gain. It talks about the lighting and this is the offset. And it talks about
the global video. Whatever you change here,
it's going to be global. So we have in each case, we have the small dot, okay. You can use the wheel
to increase or decrease footage to make changes or you can use the
small dot over here. You can decide to play
around with the footage by just moving forward
to this dot and you can click on it to
start making increase. You can increase
and make it warmer, or you can come down to make
it cooler or thereabouts. So it's just for you to just learn to play around
with things over here. If you don't want what you see, you can always double click to have it back to normal, okay? So if you change anything
and you don't like it, you can always click to
bring it back to normal. And then down here you
have the color wheels. Okay, These are master wheels. We call them the master wheels, you can increase
or decrease them. And then we have other
controls down here. Okay? I will show you
how to use some of them. Now before you start,
if you are a very, very basic cleaner, you can start by using the
auto correction. Okay? So the auto
correction is located here. Once you click on
the auto correction, you can see it does a very, very fantastic job by just automatically
adjusting everything. If you want to know
that. Let's go back to the editing tab. Can come back to
the edit and you'll be able to see the
before and the after. This is just the auto
correct. So let's go back, put in some more tweaking
so that it looks much, much better and professional. So this is the before
and the after. So you can see, let's
try to see how we can add in some more
colorations to them. So let's start with the lift. We can come down to
the color wheels. I'm not a fan of this
wheel, this top one. I kind like using them. I prefer to use the
ones down here. So let's add in some
little bit of blackness, okay, so let the blacks kind
of pop out, so be black. All right? So we can just
move them a little bit. To give them that
small touch and then we can add the color
boost a little bit. All right, don't make it too much because it
to show too much. I think 79, we can add a
little bit of it still. You should pay
attention to the scopes over here so you
don't overdo things. Then over here you have the gamma which you can
adjust from here as well. All right, a little bit of a tweak can give us a
bit of a good result. All right, I think this is okay. And then you can reduce the shadow if you
want a little bit. All right, So -20 19 is okay. And then you can add the, increase the highlight
a little bit over here. I don't make it too
much because the scope 70 trip and move
away from the range. Okay, So you can just bring down a little bit so they
stay within the scope. All right, so they
stay within the scope. Then another thing I'd like
to put is the saturation. I used to add a little bit
of a saturation to my video. All right, so adding the saturation can give them the exact color that they have. Okay, I think this is now popping out a
little bit clearly. If you have anything, you may play out with
the offset over here. Bring this down a little bit. Okay, and I think this is good. So let's go back to
the edit and try to check around the
before and the after. Okay, the before and the after. Let's try to play
this so you can see the preview of what I'm
just talking about, okay? You can see how we
have colored it very, very perfectly and nice. Okay, this is the after, and this is the before what
we have prior to our editing. Okay? So this is the
before and that is after. We call this the color
by passing, okay? By pass color, by pass color. And all the changes
you have you can use. This is a very good feature. So you can come back
here and let's see. You have the color
curves over here. You can touch on anything you can feel free to just select. Usually I start with white. Okay, You can start with white. And then I do make
two dots from here. At any given point,
I make two dots. Then if you raise
this a little bit, you can see it increases
the whites too much. You can bring it down,
you can bring it, if you bring it put in, the blacks and the black areas also appear a little bit black. Usually make a small S, shape to give it much
of a professional look. Okay, This is the white. You can balance it, and if you notice that there's
too much red color, you can also select the red color and
reduce the red color. Okay? By selecting and you
can bring down the red. Okay, removing the red, also bring out a
lot of difference. So you have to be very careful with how you reduce the red. And if you notice there
is too much green, you can as well select and
reduce it a little bit, okay? Can reduce it and you
see what it brought to your color and you can always
take it back to normal. Or if you increase
it, you see what it does to your column. So it all boils down to
what professionalism you want to bring into your video
and how you want to DTT. You can always master, play around with it
at any given point. This is the blue color. You can also play around with the blue color and change it. And if you want to reset
any of the colors, you can as well select it. And hit on the Reset
button over here. And everything is going
to be reset. All right? So it's all boils down to you what you are looking
for, what you want. You can always reset from here. And then you can
play around with the other features,
the loss and heights. If you want, you can also
all tweak it from here. So it's very easy to play
around with the features. But this, like I said, is at the very much
beginner level, you have other controls that
you might be interested in, like for example, this color Pa. Or you can have
the qualifier HL, which I don't touch and I will not like you to touch
as a beginner level. Just go ahead with the most very basic things that
you have here and you're good to go and have a professional
looking videotape. You can correct and use your Youtube channel or for online courses
worth there about. Okay. So basically this is it. You can always come back
to the edits, like I said, and try to visualize the
before and thereafter to appreciate what you have done as regards the color correction. Okay. So I think that does
it for this tutorial on how to add coloration to your
footage at beginner level. I hope you enjoy this
video. Thanks for watching. In the next class,
we're going to look at how to kick start editing from scratch using in the adventures of how do
we start from scratch, bringing media apply most of the key features
that we've learned. To just edit a simple video to output it in
this very course. Okay, so I hope you
enjoy this video. Thanks for watching
and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. Bye.
17. Sample Video Editing from Scratch: All right, so in
the last class we talked about how
to add coloration, basic coloration to
our video footage. And in this class we're going to look at sample video editing. How you can edit your video. Again from the ventures of
okay, starting from scratch. So we can save this. Usually to save you can just
come to file and just go ahead and see Safe project
and you save everything. Now I want to create
a new project and start working afresh. To start, we can
come to the file over here and you
can say New Project. And you can name your
project directly from here. So let's complete complete video editing sample. And you can click Concrete. And now we have a fresh blank
diving che resolve page. Okay, so the purpose of
this is just for us to revisit the key features
on what we have done. The basic editings that
we've done, the ideas, the concepts that we've
learned through this course to just be able to put
everything in practice. So we start with the
importing media page. We can stay at the media
pitch and then we can come to the master page over here and
create a new bin over here. We can name it
anything, for example, we can create a new bin, we can call it
media, for example. We can call this media. And we can go ahead and
right click anywhere. You can select it and come over here and say Import media. We can just go ahead and
import our media, for example. In the ventures of here, we have this media Have, okay, I have these
videos, I have these two. And I can just select
all of these videos and just import them
into this media. At this point, I wanted
to change because I want everything in my videos and
my selection to be the same. Okay? Again, if you want
to play around with, if you want to
change the sentence, you can always come over to
the wheels over here and you can change the master settings
like we've explained. Basically, all we just need
is just to have our settings, the timeline resolution
to be 1920 by 1080. And the frame rate, I have it to be 29.97 just like we explained in
the earlier stage at the beginning
of the editorial. So you don't want
everything to change, You can change the
clip rather to suit your settings
in the vent result. So if imported some video media, okay, if you want you can
import audio as well. So let's add more media. Okay, import media. Let's say we go this time
around to venture resolve. We'll come down here
and say images. All right, let's
select all of this and import them.
We add them here. Let's add more import media. And then we can go to audio. All right, let's go to resolve. Let's import audio. This time around.
We select all of this audio and import
them into our media. Now we have imported all media. All we need is now to move
straight to the edit page. Because I usually have
working in the edit page, we're here, we could just
easily select double click. You can see a video
on the timeline. So we can have a preview
of it by just clicking. And you can see this
is what we have. If you'd like, you
can start looking. This is the beginning. I want to capture this
up to this point. All right, up to this point
when they enter this. So I can hit, I want the beginning to be the
point I hit on letter. And then this point
to be my out point. So before I start
importing anything, I have to create a timeline
by just right clicking here. I come to time lines, I
secreate a new timeline. And I can see my sample editing. And I leave everything at default except like
I've explained, if you want to change
other things like the format and so I don't
want to change anything, so I leave everything at
default and I secret. And I've created this very
timeline sample editing. So I can now start by
selecting my video clip. Okay, let's select a video
clip Starting from this one, I can highlight the endpoint. So let's say this is my end
point, this is my endpoint. And now move here
up to this point. I'll define this
as my out point. Now I can easily drag and
drop it in my time line. Okay, So let me zoom to fit. Okay, so I drag and
drop it in my timeline. I drag and drop this section. Okay? So what I want is I want the video to play up
to this point, okay, when they enter the C, okay, before they start swimming
together to this point. Okay, so this is
what I've imported, the section that
I've highlighted. All right, so I can
import another one. So let's say we have maybe
one, They're swimming. See something like this. Let's let this be part of it. This one, I don't want them to see everything as regards
this. This is too long. Okay, let me on this clip. Okay, I want to trim
from the edges. Maybe up to this point, they should be able to
see up to this point. All right, up to this point, I can trim from the edges. Can just rug and
trim it up to here. Then let me trim one more time. Probably up to here I'll
be able to see everything. Okay, let me select
this to make it manual. Y. All right. Let me make it manual
here so I'll be able to see the
clips continuously. So once they enter into the sea, they start to see this
animal again, this to toy. All right, so then they
continue with their swimming. So I want to bring another
part of the same video. All right, so I'll
just double click again and to find another point. Let's say I call this
point the point. And I move again to this point. Okay? I call this
again the point, and then move my playhead
up to this point. Then I call this the out point, and I easily drag and drop this. All right, so we can see we
are now swimming inside. Let's say they see
something again, something like, let me
find another thing. Okay, this image can
come at the beginning. Let's select everything. Let's bring it to this side. This side, we have this image. All right, this is it. Let's say at this
introductory part, this is just a bigger picture of the C. Before they
start jumping in, let me cut at this point. Hold this and use the
common to create a split. And select this
section and delete. Then I can select these other sections and bring them back. Okay. So it now start with something like showing
the entire beach. Okay. The bigger picture. And then these tourists
now swimming inside and falling inside and
they see the tortoise. Okay? And then they now held their hands and continue
swimming very easily. All right, so this
is basically what I want to create is
a simple story. For example, I can put in some background
music to this also. Let's say we have this one. There's nothing in this. So we can all link this. We can select out, select this and delete. We can bring down easily because there's nothing
in the music background. Then we can add this
background music, so we can just drag and drop it. Yeah, again, you can see it gives us that feeling that
something is happening. It's a good background music. We can select this, come over to the audio control
and just try to see how we can reduce the
volume to maybe negative. I think negative 11 is good. Let's try to play it and see.
Yeah, I think it's good. So we have to create a cut
here at the end of it all, we create a cut come and to create a cout,
selected section. And delete it. And then
let's try to add in a fade out by coming to the top right over here
to this white dot. And we can just drag to create a fade out
of this March 2. And we can create a fade
in also of this second. Okay, let's have it. All right, so I
think this is good. It's now beginning to look good. The only thing we need
to add is we need to add some transitions that
this one doesn't, just into this one. And then acid moving also. It just doesn't cut
into the totals. Let's add in some
transitions in between them. So let's zoom out a little bit. All right, let's zoom out a bit. That over here we try
to add a transition. So how do we add transitions? Again, we can come to effect from effect video transitions. Over here we have different
kind of transitions. If you want to see it, all you need is just to bring a play to the transition point in
between the two clips again. So you have this transition, this is how they're going to
t this is blood dissolve. I don't like it cross
dissolve. I think it's good. So we can just drag and
drop it to the time line. Okay, in between the two clips. Okay, so if you want to put
it in between the two clips, you can select over
here and drag. All right, when you hover over the edge of this and you
move towards the edge, you can see that it
is at the end of it. So we have not
trimmed it at all. So we can create a little
bit of a trim here. Maybe even if it is some
seconds then we'll be able to inside the transition
between both of them. Let's be at this trim edit mode. So we can select over here and we can just move
this a little bit, just a little, and
then we release. Now when we hover over, we'll be able to see that this
section has been premed by seeing the green sign and
also this one if you hover. Click and hold. You see that the section had been trimmed, so we can now add a transition
in between them easily. Cross this off is good, so we can drag and drop it here. So you can see we have the
transition added in between. We can extend the length of the transition. Let me do this. We can extend the length of the transition just by coming
back to the selection tool. We can click to select
the transition. Let me zone this
out a little bit. We can select the transition. We can change the transition
again, like we've explained. You can add anyone
okay, of your choice. So you'll be able to
change it directly. I think cross this off is okay. And extend the duration. I think the duration is okay. Let's play to have a preview. Also. I think this is
fantastic for this one. Let's try to come to the edge. You can see this one also
have not been trimmed. It come to here and
just try to create that a little bit of a little bit. So it just enters
here. This one. As we can see, it's okay. So we can insert another
type of dissolve transition. Let's say we put in this push, or we can insert in between them and select and
extend a little bit. Come back to the selection tool. Select can select and extend it a little
bit. Or the length. I think the length
is okay as it is. So we can have a push. All right, so that's perfect. All right, so this
is what I want. This is about transitions. Another thing that
we can add is we can add text into our video. To add a text again, you can still come to effect, you can come to titles. Over here we have a number of titles like we've
explained earlier. So I want to add in Welcome
to Lanka over here. So let's just check around. Can have multiple of them, but I think I prefer. Let's go with plain text. Okay, we can just drag
and drop it here. All right, Let's zoom to
fit everything we can. Move this to the
beginning again. We can just select and
then come over here and put in our title,
Welcome to Lanai. Maybe this is not law,
but it's just an island. I'm just demonstrating that this is Langkawi, for example. You have a number of controls
that we've explained. You can play out
with these features if you want to use
the title plus also you can okay by
just can see text, you can use it I think. Let's say I highlight
this. I can put in some animations to it. Maybe add some transition how
it comes in and goes out. Adding this transition, let's add this transition
into it, all right? All right, we add this
to it and we have the slide out also
to it at the end. All right, in each case as well, you can select and
you can enhance or extend the length
of the transition. Let's have a preview of
what we're talking about. The image comes in, the text comes in and
then it goes out that. So it just slides out like that. Okay, I compare with the
features also from here. So let's make it
this pentagon Arris. And let's have another
preview of four vistas. Okay? So I think it's okay. So this is how to add this. If you want to replicate
this on the other places, you can just select
and select everything. You can copy, you can just
add it to the other places. Let me zone this out. So let's say we have this to
zone to fit at this point. Let's extend to this point. All right, And then here is, let's say entering the C. And then we can just
copy and paste it. Let's past can extend this. We'll be able to move this across and say this
is entering the. So we can select,
come over here, select the top O and
come to the top. And then we can
change, we can say, see if you want. You can change the
transitions with the about. I think this is okay. All right, so you
can just extend the length to make it
cover up to this point. So we can have that push and
then going out like this. Let's change it to something band wide, I think it's okay. Next we have, we can past
again and we can call it wonderful Creatures
can still come back here. So we can select See. Wonderful. Creatures, we can zoom out. Let's say this stays on
board up to this point. We can have a adventurous view. Just select and pass. This can call this
the Adventurous view. Enjoying the view. If you don't want this position that it is, you
can bring it down. For example, in our own case, we can select and we
can bring it down. We can bring this down. Okay, so we can bring it down from the
position over here. Let's say we'll bring
it down directly. Let's bring it down here. Okay, then at the end of it all, I want to add another
track that say thanks for watching something like
let's go to titles. And I want to add something. Okay, I want to add
this text over she, so we can and drop it over here. This talks about
thanks for watching. So we can select it and
we can just come over. This is the first text. Thanks. So for example, thanks. Then we can go over, we can come down here and
this is the second text. This is then this
is the last text. All right. This
is the last text. So we can put watching all. Thanks for watching and let's try to make this a
little bit smaller. Okay, let's see. Thanks for watching. Okay, let's let me Okay, so we can have it. Yeah,
I think this is it. Thanks for watching. I think this is what I
want, the end of it all. Okay, so I think basically
you get the message, how we just try to
play around with the features and then import
things around and past them. So let's say at the
last stage we want to add this to play
around with the video, so that we know the coloration. So that we know that
we did something that has to do with
color also over here. So let's bring this to
the last end over here. Let's select this video. Let's say we're taking
some part of it. Let's say from here, let's say this is in point. Let's say up to this
point, this is outpoint. Let's drag and drop it on
the channel just like. All right, so we drop it
here and then these are. Thanks for watching.
Can steal and it's all. Let's select this because
this is a rough footage. We can do some
very basic editing also as regards the colors
you select go to Color. And then again, like we've
explained the tutorial, we can start with the auto edit and you can see it
does a fantastic job. Okay, as regards the
auto correction, so we'll be able
to see the before and after also what
we come over here. This is the before
and this is after. I think it does a fantastic job as regards the coloration, but then we still have to
maybe make some few touches. Okay, we can come
down here and we can play around with
the color boost. Boost the color a little bit, and then we can
reduce the shadow. Okay, so you can see we've
boosted the color a bit. And then the highlights,
we can add a little bit of a highlight so we'll be able
to see clearly what we have. And then we can add
the saturation at B. So everything now pops
out very, very clear. And I think everything
is now very clear. So let's go back again
one more time to try the before and the after so we can
see what we have done. So this is the
before and this is the after in terms of what
we have created. Okay. So you can see everything
is now very, very clear. Okay. So this is one
of the powers of the venture resolve when
it comes to coloration. It does a fantastic job for you. Don't have to worry
about the tweaks, you don't have to make
too much tweaks to have one of the best things
we would resolve. All right, so I
think this does it on this tutorial on
how to do a bit of a sample editing from scratch involving some of the things
we have planned over here. Also, you can proceed to
add some transitions. But however, I'll finish up this editing and then you
just get the message. I'll finish up the editing
and in the next class, we're going to
learn how to export this video within
the venture resolve using the various
formats that we have. So until next time, thanks for watching and I enjoy
the video as it please. Thank you. I'll see
you in the next class.
18. Exporting Videos: All right, so in the last
class we talked about how to create a video from
scratch, basic editing, to learn about some
of the key features that we learn through
the editorial and we learn to create a basic
video edits from scratch. To this point, I've managed to create something like this
video and in this class we're going to
learn how to export it in different formats
within resolve. So exporting is very easy. Assuming you have created this video, you
like what we see, let's try to play
it so that we can have a little bit of
preview of what we've just created so that
we can be able to experience it before we go
into the exporting process. Yeah, I think this is what I want. And I've created something
at least just to demonstrate the use of
some of the features. So the next thing is to export. The video now to export, we can come to the
page called deliver. Just like the name. Deliver
means tett getting something. All right, so we're
delivering something, so we just come to
the deliver page, which is the exporting page. Now over here you
have a bunch of other different type of formats that you can export
your videos from. So as usual the firsting' make sure you give the video NM. All right, so you specify the
name that you want to give. For example, in our own case, in our own case we get VTN
M sample video editing. All right, so you specify the location where you
want to save this. So you can go to Browse. Where do you want to save this? You can go to your
desktop, for example. I have this seven Eres
tutorial and I can, I can name folder called
Output for example. And I can go ahead and
save it over there. So we define the name of, define the location where
we want to save it. Now the next thing
is the format. I usually I go with MP four
and I'll go with H 264, which is the best in terms of quality and even the sizing. Okay, so you make sure you define the resolutions
down here. This is what we have
stated already, 21920 by 1080, as well
as the frame rate. If you want a
different frame rate, then you can go
ahead and define. But everything here,
we want it a default, everything we can
set to automatic and the key frame is automatic. We'll go with this frame rate and everything, We
can keep a default, except if you want to check in the advanced tools over here, which I don't advise
for beginner level, you don't need to
check anything. Subtitle settings, you don't have to check
anything over here. All right, so once you're done, you select Render over here. You can just go ahead and
say Add to render que. And it's going to
Add to render que, you start rendering, so let's go ahead and add the surrender que. And you can see it's been
added to our render queue. So this now you can add as many videos as you
want to render to Q. You can que them over here, and once you want
to start exporting, you can come all the
way here and start. You can surrender all, or you can see render Q and it's going to start
rendering the video. So let's surrender all. And this is going to start
rendering the video. You can see the percentage
and it's going to render the video and take it to that location that
you have defined. Okay, So it's very easy to render video and create
video in debenture, resolve. So the key thing is to go on
with your own creativity. Use your creativity to
see how or what you can try to create
with this software. Okay. It's fantastic. It is very powerful.
It's industry recommended software for any
video editing, filmmaking. You can do quite a lot
for this and it's very free to use except if you want to go with
this studio version, which at this point, for a
beginner, I don't advise. So we just finished
you rendering. Let us play the video in the background
at the end of this. So I think this concludes
this tutorial on how to render and export our video
within the ventures of. So in the next, which is
going to be the last class, it's going to be
about conclusion about this whole course. And then a project, a mini
project that you can do to demonstrate your
understanding of this tutorial or of this course. This a simple project
that you're going to create just to
demonstrate understanding. So I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching and I look forward to seeing you in the next one by Coach.
19. Course Conclusion + Project: Congratulations on completing
the mastering video editing with Davinci Resov course. Now it is time for
your simple project where you will apply
the techniques you've learned in
this course to lock your creativity
using Davinci Resov, I'd like you to choose a
personal or any fictional story. Create a storyboard and shoot
any scenes of your choice. Import the footage into
Davinci resolve for editing. Apply the basic editing skills. Experiment with advanced
techniques if needed. Try to add captions
and enhancements. Review and refine your videos. And finally, export
it for sharing on social media or
other platforms. So I expect you to submit
to just pest a link to it on this platform and I will check it and
give you feedback. So once again, thank you
