1. Introduction to the course: Hello guys, my name is Nico, and today I have a pretty short by real essential tutorial for you. Today we are going to be learning how you can customize your own layout for Cinema 4D. So we're going to cover everything, where to put the icons, what is a layout? How you can customize your own layout pretty fast. And also how you can save that layout in a file. So if you have any issues with Cinema 4D or you have to re-install it, or any kind of promise that you may encounter, you can load that file and reuse it again. So this layout is going to help you work faster, improve your workflow and have better and faster artworks. So every time you open your Cinema 4D, you will have your most used tools on hand so you can use it pretty fast and you can improve your time. I hope you learned a lot. And let see you in the next video. 2. Get to know layouts: Welcome back guys. So here we are at my own personalized layout for Cinema 4D. And as you can see, you're going to be looking at a lot of whole new icons that you wouldn't have in your regular layout. Okay, So why would you want to have your own personalized layout? Having your own customized layout will help you improve your workflow times and you will be able to create faster art. Work pretty comfortable in the environment that you are. That is, your layout, right? So let's say, for example, that we want to create a material in my layout and let's see how fast it is. So to create a material in this layout, here I have all the tools regarding obtain and how to create materials. You will just have to click here, and that's pretty much it. I have my icon to create little material and I can start editing through here, through here, right? But what about if I didn't have that icon here? I'll just have to go to the longer path, which isn't the non-customers path. And for that, I'll just help to go to obtain live viewer window. This will open an under here. I will just have to go to Materials, create material and that material, and here I have the same material. So what's the difference? With my own personalized layout, I was able to create this material will just one-click. And without my customized layout, I will create this material for like ten times the amount of clicks, right? So the idea here for you to have an overall better workflow, faster workflow, and for you to work perfectly fine and comfortable in your own layouts. So let's hit over to the standard layout and let's create and customize it to be your own for you to work better. 3. Customize your own layout: So let's start customizing our own layout. So here, as I showed you, you have my personalized layout. Here we have all the tools regarding obtain. Here I decided to put my brushes, and here I decided to put all the Forrester and obtain viewers so I have quick access to obtain hear forester all regarding the trees, plants, and everything else. And here I also have my obtain viewer in real time so I can see a preview of my render while I'm working in the viewport. Let's get to the first thing you will see when you open Cinema 4D with no personalized layout. So this is the Startup Layout that obtains. Cinema 4D provides you. And it's not a bad one, but you don't have any tools. You have just a few tool for creating materials, maybe defectors, some selection tool which are pretty useful. Let's say you want here D obtain tools or maybe forester. So for that, you will just have to hit over windows. Customization is pretty straightforward. And then customized palettes. And as soon as you open customized palettes, you will be seeing these options here, which weren't there before. And these are all groups. So you can start moving your options. You can just start tweaking the ones which are already here. And this is going to help us organize the options, are the tools, are the brushes that we want here. So let's say that we were talking, that we want forests are over here. So we have two options here. You just can go to Windows and authority to extensions, and just grab the Forrester and drag and drop it here, but not that way. Just come again two sections and just grab it from here. You know, these lines, these dotted lines here helps you also to grab that node of elements. And you can just grab and drag from the three dots line and just put it whenever you want so I can put it there. Or you could just in this same customized palette, you can just write Forrester and you can grab it from here and put it anywhere you want to. Okay? So you can also use this, which is a group separator to start separating groups. Let's say here we want just the Forrester tools. And then, let's say here. And let's say you want maybe I don't know when to obtain area light over here. So you have after you close this, you have your icons there. You can also make your icons bigger. So let's say you want to see this online bigger because you just got to do it for every icon over here. So you just go to an empty place in every bar, let's say here. And you just go to Icon Size. And here we are at medium icons. You can put large icons. Here you have your icons more visible and more well optimized for your patient. Okay. So regarding obtain because I know that most of you work with obtained and if you don't, it's a cool thing to try. Then again, we go to obtain, we open the live viewer window. So let's say we want to have this live viewer window here. You put in your left. So you can see a real time render and you can just work looking at real-time results because that is something really good for you if you're creating maybe every day yard of quick renders. I didn't have to be open in another window just to see the render. You just can grab this live viewer from these three lines and just drag and drop it actually anywhere you want. As you can see, we are getting these lines as we move around the layout. But let's say we wanted here. So there we go. We have our render viewer here. So let's say we created this and also we put some, let's say some Obtained Daylight. So we can just go here. And as we move around in our viewport, we see the real result that we are getting. And that is going to help us working faster because we are going to be seen the real results onto the left and create more art. So the last thing you want to know is how to save and how to load these layout. So let's go over there. 4. Saving your layout: So the last thing we wanna do is we want to save this layout both to have another file so we can just loaded whenever we want in case we just have Travels which Cinema 4D or we have to install it. And we have to save this layout as our custom user layout for every time we open Cinema 4D. So that is pretty straightforward to just head to Window customization. And here you have all the tools. You can see some layouts that you have already created menu for rigging and other. So for example, this is my own layout. And here we have the options that we need. So let's say we want to save this layout. You just go to saved layout. And let's create here our template, Let's say my layout one, I saved my layout there. So after that, you will have to come here again, customization and save as a startup layout. So once you click this, your layout is going to appear here. Now I have it without saving it because we're just in this session. So every time you open Cinema 4D, you will have it as your startup user layout. Because as you can see on the ocean here is your startup user layout. So every time you open Cinema 4D, you will have these tools right in front of you, right there for you to start working with. So if you have any kind of issues with Cinema 4D or you have to install it and you lost your layout and you don't want to start customizing everything again, you just have to go here node layout and just load the layout we created and we just save in a separate file. So that's pretty much it regarding layouts. I hope it helped for you. 5. Outro: Okay guys, I hope this course helped to you. Now you have your own customized layout and you are going to be able to work faster and you're going to improve your workflow. So I have a lot of more courses here at Skillshare, so check them out. It will be my pleasure for you to learn from them. And I see you in the next one. Bye.
