1. Intro - The Movie night Socks: Who doesn't love keeping their feet snug on movie night? Whether it's for your little feet, or those of a friend you'll love making these socks that are as beautiful as they are comfortable. Hi, I'm Emilie Bolduc, a French Canadian crochet designer who is beyond crocheting these brands. I have an Etsy shop for fun and modern patterns to crochet. Maybe you met me in the first class. I posted on this platform, the how to crochet course, a complete program to learn all the basic question techniques with nine quick projects included. In this class, we're going to make these cute crochet sets. Did I pronounce it well? You will learn how to crochet in rounds, which will be useful for your future slipper and have projects. You will also learn some basic stitches and techniques that will give you confidence to crochet new creations. In no time you'll be ready to keep your feet warm for your next movie night. Are you ready? Let's start questioning. 2. Project Intro: [MUSIC] In this class, we will crochet these cute socks that will fit to any woman feet size from 5-12. You will learn how to crochet in round using the half double crochet stitch, how to join another kind of yarn and how to stitch in different places to create textures. I can't wait to see your project done. Don't forget to share the pictures with me in the project gallery below. Let's now take a look into the materials you will need and which stitches that will be used. 3. Material & Stitches: You will need a six millimeter hook, 100 gram of super bulky yarn, 25 grams of faux fur yarn, scissors, yarn needle, and a stitch marker. For the faux fur yarn, I use a go for faux fur from line brand in chinchilla color, and for the super bulky yarn, I used the Bernat softee chunky in gray heather. If you would like to grab the hook I used the clever one, I put the link in the description below. Let's now see which stitches that will be used in that pattern. We will do chains, single crochet, half double crochet, and slip stitch. If you're unfamiliar with these terms, I will explain them in this tutorial. But if you need more help, you can look into my complete crochet course to learn the basics. I also put this link in the description below. Let's now start to crochet. See you in next video. 4. Toe Part - Rnd 1 to 11: With your super bulky yarn, we're going to start with a slip knot. It's making a knot but never finishing it. You hold the two threads, and you tight it. You put your hook inside the loop and close the knot on it, not too tight. With your other hand, you will turn the yarn around your little finger, and over your index, and with your middle finger, and your thumb, you will hold the knot. First move yarn over in front of you. Take the yarn, and pass it through the loop. Do that two more times for a total of three chains. We're going to start the first round. You will do a half double crochet, you will yarn over, hold the yarn on the hook, and enter your hook into the third chain from the hook, the first one you made. Yarn over, pull through the chain, yarn over, pull through three loops on your hook. You just made a half-double crochet. You will do another half double crochet in the same space, in the same chain. Like this, and you will do eight more, half double crochet in the same chain. [MUSIC] At the end, make sure you have a total of 10 half double crochet made in this round. This is the first one. You're going to join with a slip stitch. You enter your hook in it, pull through the stitch, and the loop on your hook to close your Round 1. Round 2, you're going to do two chains, and you're going to make a half-double crochet in the same stitch where you join there by taking both loops of the previous stitch. Yarn over, pull through this stitch, yarn over, pull through three loops on your hook. You can put a stitch marker on this stitch to remember that it's the first one of this round. You will do another half-double crochet in the same stitch. We're going to increase all around. You will do two half double crochet in next stitch again there, and you continue this pattern all around, two half double crochet in each of next stitches. Don't crotchet it into that trend, it's the joining one. Count if you have a total of 20 half double crochet made in this round. You can remove your stitch marker, and join with a slip stitch in the first half double crochet you made in this round. Round 3, chain 2, make a half double crochet in this same stitch, this one. Place your stitch marker on that stitch, and continue making one half double crochet in each of next stitches, for a total of 20 stitches in round three. At the end, don't forget to not go into this stitch because it's the joining one. Slip stitch in your first half double crochet made in this round. You will now repeat that round until you have 11 rounds. This is the first, second, third, and we're going to start the fourth one. See you in Round 12. 5. Heel Part - Row 12 to 16: Once you've done your 11 rounds, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, we're going to start Row 12. You can guess that if you want longer socks, you can just add more rounds. You're going to do Chain 2, half double crochet in same stitch, and half double crochet in next 13 stitches. You can stop there when you have 14 half double crochet made and turn, you can count them just to be sure. Row 13, Chain 2, turn your project. We will crochet from the inside of the work. Make a half double crochet in same stitch and half double crochet in next 13 stitches. Your last one will be here just before the turning chain. Row 14, Chain 1, this time you turn, and you're going to do a single crochet in the middle loop of the half double crochet. It's just this loop here. You'll enter your hook, pull through the loop, yarn over, pull through two loops on your hook. Continue like this by making a single crochet in every middle loop of previous loop. This way to do is going to make texture on the heel part to make it more thick. The last single crochet will pick there. It's not easy to see, but as long as you're single crocheting one loop, it's okay. You should have, again, 14 single crochet made in this row. Row 15, Chain 2, turn. You're going to do half double crochet in same stitch here and half double crochet in next 13 stitches. Your last half double crochet will be here for a total of 14 half double crochet made in this row. Row 16, Chain 1, turn. You're going to do a single crochet in each middle loop of previous row. Last one will be in this loop. That's it. You can now remove the hook from the loop, cut the yarn by leaving a good length, and pass the end into the loop to secure your project. We will now sew this side together to form the socks. Fold this part on itself from the outside, put the thread in your yarn needle, and start to sew this part together like this. When you're done, you can weave in the end to secure well this thread. You can pass back and forth in any loop you see as long as you feel that tension. You can cut the overage, flip this part on the good side, and go find the beginning thread in the top part within this Thread 2. Can turn around several times in Round 1. Go in the other direction , cut the thread, and that's it. We can put now the full yarn around the ankle. 6. It's fur Time! - Rnd 17 & 18: We will now join the fur yarn anywhere on the edge. You enter your hook in a stitch and you take the fur yarn, that's it. It's how we join yarn. You're going to do Chain 2, half double crochet in the same stitch where you join and half double crochet equally all around, you have to make 21 in total. You go in any loop on the edge as long it's proportionally equal all around. A little tip I can give to you it's to make seven-half double crochet on each side. Seven on this one, seven on the left one, and seven on the front one. Once you've done your 21-half double crochet, you can slip stitch between ***** 2 and your first-half double crochet. That's from ***** 2. Now, it's a little bit hard to see, but you can put your finger between each-half double crochet you make, and you're going to do your-half double crochet between those stitches. It's really easier to make this round like this. Again, you should have a total of 21-half double crochet made in this round. At the end you can join between your ***** 2 and the first-half double crochet again. Cut the yarn and secure the thread by passing it into the loop. You can now weave in ends, it's a little bit hard to weave in this yarn, but as long as you go back and forth, try to feel a certain tension to well secure it. Do the same thing with the beginning one. You just made your first sock. You just need to do another one and you're good to go. You can see that it stretches really well to fit any sizes.
