1. 1 . Introduction: Hello, everyone. This is
Nagumina, your crochet tutor. Today, we'll be seeing how to crochet this storage basket, a multi purpose storage basket. You can use to
stored vegetables, fruits, and anything, it is
looking nice and stiffer. You can also use it for
storing your cosmetics, so a very handy and
stiff storage basket. Now, let's get started
and see how to make this beautiful
storage basket. Let's get started.
2. 2 . Crochet Supplies Required: Let's take a look at the
crochet supplies that are required for making
our crochet basket. Today I'll be using a
macrame crochet ion. This is a three millimeter
thick crochet macrame yarn. This is a lightweight
tan and it is a polycotton the material is polycotton and it's
a lightweight tian. Today I'll be using a hook
size of about five millimeter. You can either use this
macrame yarn or you can even use a T shirt yarn
or a normal crochet yarn. Based on the thickness, you can either increase or
decrease your hook size. You'll be needing
few stitch markers and a pair of scissors. Grab your crochet supplies,
let's get started.
3. 3 . Making the Base for the Basket: I for this storage basket, we'll be working in rounds. First, we are going to make
the base for our basket. The base for our basket, we are going to make it
in the shape of a square. Let's start off by
making a magic ring. My magic ring is ready. Now, I'll make a chain one, so this chain one
won't be counted. This chain one won't be counted and into
this magic round, we are going to work eight
sets of single crochet and this eight set of single crochet will
form our first round. I have made my eight
sets of single crochet. Like if you are a
beginner to crochet, then what you can
do is you can mark your first single
crochet over here so that you don't get lost while you're finishing your round. Now let's close this magic ring. I have closed my magic ring. What I'm going to do is into this first single
crochet over here. I'm going to make
my slip stitch. Round number one is done. Moving on to round number two, what I'm going to do is first
start by making a chain one and into the same stitch
work, one single crochet. I have made one single crochet. Into the next stitch, I'll be working three
sets of single crochet. This is my first single crochet and my second single crochet. And my third single crochet. After you work three
single crochets, what I'm going to do is I'm
going to mark my middle one. That is the second
single crochet. I have marked my
second single crochet. Now we'll be
alternatively working one single crochet and
three single crochet. Now after working here
into my next ditch, I'm going to work
one single crochet. After this is done,
I'll be working three sets of single crochets
into my next stitch. This will be the patent
for our round number two. You'll be working
one single crochet and three single
crochets alternatively. After working three
single crochets, we are going to mark our
second one over here. Repeat all the way around. I'll meet you when I reach
to your end point over here. As you can see, I have reached
the end of my round number two and we got a small
square shaped one, so our basket base has
started to take our shape. At the end of this
round number two, you'll be having a total of 16 sets of single crochets and this chain one
won't be counted. Now, if you see, we started off by making eight
single crochets and now we have made a total
of 16 single crochet. Now, let's finish this round and move on to our next round. So now as usual, you'll be making a
slip stitch into the first single
crochet over here. So done. Now for round number three, from here on what we'll be doing is wherever we have placed
our stitch markers, we'll be working three
sets of single crochets. In the four corners, we'll be working three
sets of single crochets. Again, there we'll be marking our second stitch and in the remaining stitch where
we don't have markers, we'll be placing
one single crochet. For round number three, chain one and this won't be counted as a stitch and
into the same stitch, work one single crochet. After this, here we
have our next stitch. There I'm going to work
one single crochet. Fine. Now we have reached
our markup point. Remove your markup
and in this space, work three sets of single
crochet and again, mark your second one. This is your first
single crochet. Second single crochet.
We'll mark this one. I have marked my
second single crochet and into the same thing, again, I'm making
another single crochet. Now, the first corner has been
made and now here we'll be working one set of single
crochets until we reach our stitch marker over here. In between you'll
be having one, two, and three stitches and
in those three stitches, we'll be working one
single crochet each. One, two, and finally, three. It's done. Now we have come to
our next corner. In this corner, again, I'll be making three
sets of single crochets. Now I'm marking my second
stitch over here and again, one more into the same stitch. After this is done, again, we'll be working one set
in the next stitches and in the place where we
have our stitch marker, we'll be working three sets. Follow the same pattern, I'll meet you when I
reach the end over here. I have finished my round
number three by making a slip stitch into our
first single crochet. A squire is ready. I multiples of eight,
you'll be increasing. First, we started with eight, then with 16. Now we have 24. So after this,
you'll be having 32. Then again, you'll be having 40, so you'll be increasing
in multiples of eight. For our round number
four, chain one, this won't be
considered and into the same stitch work
one single crochet, you'll be working
one single crochet until you reach
this stitch marker. Now we have reached
a stitch marker. Here I'll be placing three
sets of single crochet. Here, mark your second stitch. Now continue the same
pattern of making your single grouchs
until you have reached your desired base size, follow the same
pattern of making one single crochet in
each of the stitches and wherever you have used your stitch marker place three sets of single
crochets and you have to mark your
second single crochet and in the places where
there are no stitch markers, you have to work one set of single crochets for every round, you'll be finishing off
by making a slip stitch into your first single
crochet over here. Follow the same pattern. I'll meet you when
I have reached the desired base for
my storage basket. I have done nearly 12 rounds
of this single crochet. Only in the corners I
have made my increase. As you can see, I still
have my stitch markers. We got a nice and
perfect square. I have made 12 rounds
in this pattern, depending on the storage box, which you need, if you
need a bigger one, then you can increase
the number of rounds. Otherwise, if you
need a small one, reduce the number of rounds. According to the knee, either increase or decrease
the number of rounds. At this end of my
round number 12, I'll be having a total of
96 sets of single crochets and this chain one which we made at the beginning,
it won't count. It's looking nice and stiff. I have used this
macrame crochet tian, and for this crochet tian, it is nice and thick right, so I'm not able to close this opening over
here completely in case if you're using
a t shirt yarn or any other crochet yarn, then you'll be able to close this round and you'll be
able to weave this off. Now, I won't be
able to weave this off because it is
nice and stiff here. What I'm going to do
is I'm going to cut this yarn off and I'm
going to a little bit use a lighter or a candle and we are going to burn
a little bit over here, the tip so that it doesn't
get remote see here, the tip here, it is
looking like this. If we leave this unattended, then what might happen is
it will start to separate. The threads over
here will start to separate and it will
disturb our project. We are going to burn it a
little bit using a candle. In case you have a lighter, then you can use a lighter. Now let's check the
measurement for this base. It's about 19 centimeter width. Height is also 19. See the height is
also 1919 by 19, it's a perfect square. Now, let's weave this end of
and we'll move on and see how to make the sides
for our storage basket. S here, like I have
burned the tip over here.
4. 4 . Making the Sides for the Basket: I now we are done with the
base for our storage basket. Moving on, we'll be making
the sides for our basket. For the sides for our basket, what I'm going to do is
now we are going to make the first round for our
sides of the basket. As usual, start off by
making a chain one. I have made my chain one. Now if you see in
our previous rounds, we went through both this loop and we worked our
single crochet. Now what I'm going
to do is I'm going to work only in my back loop. That is only in this
loop I'm going to work. So when we work in
this back loop, what will happen is our base
and the wall for our basket will be separated by a
small, um, embost one. I'll be looking very nice. We made a chain one. Now what I'm going to do is
into the stitch first stitch, I'm going to work
only in my back loop. My back loop is here. Fine. W one single crochet. Done. Now, work
one single crochet into each and every stitch. One thing to be remembered
is we started off by making eight single
crochets over here. Each and every round will be an increase of multiple of eight and make sure that you don't miss these corners
and work it properly. And for the sides, we are not going to
make any increase. Into each and every stitch from the previous
round for our base, we are going to work one set of single crochet and
onely in the back loop. Since we are not making any increase in this
particular round, what will happen is our basket
will start to take shape. So it'll curl up a little bit. Even in the corners,
we are not going to make any increase. What we'll be doing
is we'll be working one single crochet into
each and every stitch. Here, don't need
a stitch marker, you can remove the stitch
marker from now on. In case you are a
beginner to crochet, then what you can
do is you can use a stitch marker and
mark the beginning of your round so that it'll
be easy for you to finish. Now I have come to this
corner in this corner also, I'm going to work one single
crochet in the back loop. Now it's done, now turn to the other side and
in this corner also, I'm going to work one single
crochet in the back loop. As you can see, you'll
be getting like this. What will happen when the sides start to curl up it will be looking
very beautiful. Once I have done all the sides and I reach the
end, I'll show you. As you can see, it has started
to curl up a little bit. If you see here, see, we have a difference
between our base and the walls of our basket. Now I'm going to finish it. Finishing it as usual
with a slip stitch at your first single
crochet over here. We have done. Now, moving on for our walls for our
storage basket, what we are going to
do is we are going to repeat only one
particular round. What we'll be doing
is we'll be working one single crochet into
each and every stitch. For this first round alone, we'll be working
in our back loop. Now we'll be working
in both the loops. Chain one and into the same stitch worker,
single crochet. Now I'm going through
both the loops, both the front and
the back loop. So first single crochet done, and now into the second one, I'm going through both
the loops as you can see. This will be the pattern
walls for our basket, we'll be working
one single crochet into each and every stitch. The number of stitches
will be same as that of your last
round of your base. So with how many stitches
you're finishing your base, the same number of stitches will be continued for your walls. This will be the pattern
for this entire basket. A very simple and easy basket with easy techniques
to be remembered. Follow the same thing
and make as many number of rounds as required
for the basket. Until which height you need, you can follow the
same pattern of making one single crochet. Now, I'm making my
round number two. It has started to curl up, so you'll be getting
the walls like this. Make as many number of rounds as required until you reach
your desired height. I'll show you once I'm
done with my basket. See I have finished it. I made around eight rows of this single crochets for
the side of our organizer. Now let's see how
to finish this. Using this macrame yarn, I have joined another yarn here. First bundle, I completed here and I started
my second bundle, so I have inserted it
and I have made it. The joining process, everything
is similar to that of our normal crochet yarn and thir yarn. Now
let's finish this. Until here I have hid my
urn under these stitches. Now we'll cut this off and we'll burn the tip
a little better.
5. 5 . Class Project: So see here, I have
burnt it here in the center and the place where I have joined my
yarn, I have done it. So it is looking nice
and stiffer. See here. A perfect square storage basket. For the base, if you see, these four places where
we made our increment. A very simple and easy
crochet basket is ready. For class project, you can try the same storage basket
with T shirt yarn, or you can even use the normal crochet yarn
for this another thing. A few people will find difficult in making
the single crochets. If you're finding it difficult with making this single crochet, then you can follow the
same pattern and you can use double crochet and you
can make your storage basket. Single crochet, I
made nearly 12 rows for my base and around eight rows for
the sides of the basket. In case you're using
a double crochet, then you have to reduce the number based on
the size required. For class project, you can
try the same basket by using double crochet and also by using your normal yarn
or a T shirt yarn. When you're using a
crochet macrame yarn, it'll look nice and stuff. Sehat is looking nice and stiff. In case of any questions or queries related to
this storage basket, feel free to ask, I'll revert to you back
as soon as possible. I will be happy
to hear from you. After you try this basket, please upload a photo. I'll be very happy to review it. I'll meet you in another
crochet project until then. By happy crocheting.
