1. INTRODUCTION: Hi everyone, I'm Eva
from Hanna Crash Design. In today's craft video, I'm going to share
with you how to transfer your design
onto a piece of fabric. I'm going to make
this project as a room decor for
my girls bedroom. I will display my artwork
in an embroidery hoop. But you also can
transfer this design onto a tote bag or
make a tissue design. This project is suitable for any cricket machine I'm using. Cricket make a tree over here, but you also can do it on Cricket Joy and also
Cricket Explorer. The S G file will be provided
and I'm going to guide you step by step how to set up this file on Cricket
design space. I will also share all
the materials you need, such as the suitable material
for the on the cutting mat, and also the weeding
tool to remove the unwanted part
of your design. Then I'm going to
share with you how to transfer the design
onto a piece of fabric. The heat setting is very
important when it comes to transferring your design
because different on, on materials require
different heat setting. So I'm going to share
with you how to find the suitable setting
for your tools as well. After that, I'm going
to share with you how I added some embellishment
onto my artwork, such as adding this
tiny croce flower. I will also share with
you all the tools and materials needed to
make this tiny flower. I added some to
represent the stars. After that, I'm
going to share with you how I finish up the project. I cut a card stock in circle shape with cricket
maker and that's it. This is how the final
project looks like. If you're interested to
make this craft project, you can check out my next class. I will share all the tools and materials you need to
make this project.
2. Lesson 1 : tools and materials: Hi everyone. In this lesson, I'm going to share with you
all the two sand materials that you're going to need
to make this project. For the cutting machine, I'm
using Cricket maker Three, but this project is
also suitable for Cricket Joy and also
cricket explorer. For the cutting mat, I'm
using this standard grid mat. However, if you're using
smart iron on material, you might not need a
mat for this project. I'm using this foil
iron on Cricket has a wide variety of iron material as well as
color to choose from. So you can be really
creative with this and to remove the
unwanted part of the metal, you will need this wedding tool. I'm going to display my
artwork in an embroidery hoop. This is a 20 centimeter diameter embroidery hoop for the fabric. I'm using this 100%
cotton marial. If you're not sure what
kind of material to choose, you can go to Cricket.com Go
to the heat guide and check the base material to
transfer the design. I'm using this Cricket
Easy press mini. The heat setting is very
important for this project. Different material require
different heat setting. Before you transfer your design, please check the heat guide in Cricket.com The SVG file for this project is available for download or you can go to
Micro Design Space Profile. Go to the shared project and you can customize
the artwork. You can personalize
it. If you want to give this as a birthday present. I will provide S Fiji
file and also the link to microcsign space profile in
the class information below. For the flower embellishment, I'm using this crochet
treat number 80 by the MC and I'm using 0.5 millimeter crochet hook
to make this flower. We're also going to
need some set bits. I'm using this Japanese
toho bits inside 6.11 You don't have to follow exactly
what I'm using here, just use whatever bits
you have on hand. For the finishing touch, I'm going to cover
up the back of my embroidery hoop
with card stock. All right, that's all for
the tools and metrios. In the next lesson,
I'm going to share with you how I
arranged the file, how I added the text, and also how to cut the
image in cricket maker.
3. Lesson 2 : how to set up the file in Cricut Design Space and how to cut it: In this lesson, I'm going
to share with you how to set up the file on
Cricket Design space. All right. I have opened Cricket Design Space and this is my Cricket Design
Space profile. And if you click
on Share Project, you'll see all the
project that I've done so far for the craft project that we're going to do
today. I have saved it. And the girl room, the car. Click on that, then
click Customize. For this project, I'm going
to transfer my design onto a piece of fabric
which I'm going to attach onto embroidery hoop. Please check the diameter of your embroidery
hoop to make sure that your design is nicely placed within the
embroidery hoop. This is how the file looks like. I put all design elements
in a different layer. There's a separate layer
for the moon and the text, and also a separate
layer for the cat. I'm going to remove the text. You go to the text layer
and delete that layer. Remember to adjust
the size of the moon according to the size of
your embroidery hoop. When you place the design
into your embroidery hoop, none of the design
elements will be cut off. I'm going to move this cat into the center
part of the moon. Adjust the size a little bit. As you can see here, the part of the cat's design overlap
with the constellation. To remove the constellation, select the moonflower
layer and then you go to contour
here at the bottom. Then all you have to
do is just select the element that
you want to remove. Then once you're done, you just click the close button. I'm going to adjust
the size of the cat so it won't overlap with
the star's design. Now we're going to merge
these two layer together. Select both layers, and then go to the panel at the bottom here. Click Combine and Unite. If you want to
personalize this design, let's say you want to add
your daughter's name. Click on the text button
at the left side panel. You can choose the phone. You can choose the style or the size according
to your preference. If you want to
have a curve text, you can go to the
top panel here. You can move this
circle and you can adjust how curve you
want your text to be. I think I'm just
going to go with a straight text at the bottom. Now select everything. Then go to the right bottom
panel and click Attach, click, Make it in the next page, I'm setting up the material
size to 30.5 by 30.5 M. Since we're going
to use on Marial, don't forget to
mirror your image. Once you're done with
that, click continue. On the next page,
we're going to set up the base material I'm going to use Foil on
for this project. Click on that and click
Done for the pressure. I'll just go with Default. In the next lesson, I'm
going to share with you how to put the
material on the Met. And also I will share with
you the cutting process.
4. Lesson 3 : how to transfer your design onto a piece of fabric with Cricut Press: Hi everyone. In this lesson, I'm going to share with you
how to transfer the design onto a piece of fabric
using cricket mini press. First of all, you want to
prepare your embroidery hoop. This is a 20 centimeter
diameter embroidery hoop. And prepare your fabric. I'm using cotton material. Place the fabric in between
two pieces of the hoop. Then I'm going to press
down the outer hoop. Then you can tighten the screw and pull the fabric evenly so the fabric inside the
hoop looks straight cut. The fabric give about one to two centimeter
allowance around the hoop. Now I'm going to
transfer the design onto this fabric with
Cricket mini press. Remove the fabric of the hoop and I'm going to
pre heat my fabric. You can check the
heat guide from Cricket Design space at
the left panel over here. And then choose your machine. I'm using Cricket as press mini. I'm going to choose that for
the heat transfer material, I'm using foil iron on. Then for the base
material I'm using 100% cotton. All right. This heat guide is very
important to follow because every heat
transfer material require different heat
setting. All right? According to the hit guide, I need to pre hit my Cricket
easy press to low setting. Place your fabric on clean cricket pressing mat and pre hit the
fabric for 5 seconds. Place the Ion
material face down. The line should be facing up. And then use the low setting on your cricket mini press
to transfer the design. Press the mini press
while moving with firm pressure at low
setting for 25 seconds. You also can flip the cotton over and press for 15 seconds. Only remove the liner when
it is not hot anymore. These steps is very important. You have to be very
patient and wait for the material until it's totally cool before
you remove it. Because I did try peel off the liner when the foil is
still a little bit hot. And the foil didn't
stick onto the fabric, but it was still attached
to the plastic liner. All right, once you're
done with that, we're going to put the fabric
onto the embroidery hoop. In the next lesson, I'm
going to share with you how I add some embellishment
to my designs, such as crochet flowers
and also some toho bits.
5. Lesson 4 : how to crochet the small flower: Lesson, I'm going to teach you how to make this crochet flower. To make this flower
you're going to need crochet tract
number 80 from DMC and also 0.5
millimeter crochet hook. On this tutorial,
I'm going to use thicker trot and bigger hook
so you can see it better. On screen, we're going to
start with the magic circle. Wrap the yarn over your finger. Insert your hook underneath the first yarn and
then grab the second, pull it through and twist. Then you're going to yarn over and pull it through the loop. Inside this magic circle. You're going to make
six single crochet. This is my first single crochet. This is the second
single crochet, 345, last 16. I keep my single crochet loose because later
on we're going to work on the petal stitches
inside that single crochet. Next, I'm going to tighten the magic circle by pulling
the tail of the threat. And we're going to join the
circle with a slip stitch. Next we're going to start
with our first petal. I'm going to chain three, then a Trouble crochet. In the same stitch, I'm
going to yarn over twice. Insert your hook in
the same stitch. Over pull it through
an over puss tulp, an over pustules, and
an over puss tulp. Next I'm going to make five double trouble crochet
in the same stitch. We're going to Y
over three times. Insert. Hook in the same stitch. Over pull it through,
over puss tulp. Y over puss tulsan, over puss tulp and
over pustules. So this is our first
double trouble crochet. And this is the second
double trouble croce, continue. This is the third
double trouble crochet. This is the fourth
double trouble crochet. And this is the last
double trouble crochet, which is the fifth
double trouble crochet. Then after that
I'm going to make a trouble crochet
in the same stitch. And then after that we're
going to chain 3123, and then we're going
to make a slip stitch in the same stage. This is how our first
petal looks like. Moving on, we're going to make a slip stitch
in the next stitch, then we're going to continue
with the second petal. Same thing again, we're going to slip stitch in the next stitch. And then after that we're
going to chain 3123. Then after that we're
going to start with the trouble crochet
in the same stitch. Then after that I'm going to
make five double trouble, crochet in the same stitch. This is our first
double trouble crochet. This is the second
double trouble crochet. This is the third
double trouble crochet, the fourth double
trouble crochet. This is the last double
trouble crochet, which is the fifth
double trouble crochet. Continue. We're going to make a trouble crochet
in the same stitch. Then after that
we're going to chain 3123 and then make a slip
stitch in the same stitch. This is how the second
pat looks like next. I'm going to make a slip
stitch in the next stitch. Then after a slip stitch in
the next stitch, after that, we're going to continue
with the third petal, since the pattern is exactly the same as the first two petals. I'm going to speed
up the video here. I'm almost done with
my third petal, and currently I'm
making a trouble. Then after that, I'm
going to chain three, then we're going to make a slip stitch in the same stitch. Then after that we're going to make a slip stitch
in the last stitch, then we're done
to finish it off. You can tie not twice and then after that you
can weave in the end. This is how the flower
looks like if you're using crochet treat number eight
and for a pair of earrings, you're going to need to
crochet eight flowers.
6. Lesson 5 : finishing up and how to add embelishment onto your artwork: Hi everyone. In this lesson, I'm going to share
with you how I added some embellishments such as this crochet flower
onto my artwork. I have prepared some
crochet flowers, which you can see the
tutorial in previous class. There's no specific
instruction to follow here. I'm just going to place
and then I'm going to sew the flower
around the design. Now it's time to sew
the flower one by one. Bring up your needle up. I'm going to solve
my first flower. I'm going to add this too, round bit size eight on the
center of my crochet flower. I'm going to sew a few
times to secure it. Then to finish it up, I'm just going to tie knots a few times on the back
of embroidery hoop. And I will just keep
adding beads and also adding crochet
flowers on my artwork. Feel free to add more
colors onto your artwork. You can use different
color of beds, such as the light
blue round toho bits, or you can also use
different color of thread for your
crochet flower. You actually can use embroidery thread to make
this crochet flower. Just use one strand
for one flower. But the chal***ging part will be this tract is
very, very thin, so you might want to work under the magnifying glass so you
can see all those stitches. All right, so this is how
it looks like so far. Next I'm going to
show you how to cover up the back of this
embroidery hoop. So what we're going
to do is we're going to gather the
fabric together. I will use this
blue cotton tract so it's easier for you
to see on the screen. I'm going to stitch around
the edge with running stitch. When you have stitch all
the way around the edge, pull the tread until the
fabric gathers together. Then I'm just going to
saw a few times here before I tie a knot and
cut off the access tread. Next I'm going to cut a circle from a cuts stock with
my cricket machine. To cover up the back of
this embroidery hoop, I use this critter cuts
stock from Cricket. This is how I cut my circle backing in Cricket design space. Open new canvas and then go to the left panel and click
on this shapes button. Then select Circle Shape. I'm going to adjust the size according to my
embroidery hoop size. Make sure the operation
mode is, but that's it. Click, make it. I'm going to cut this on the
standard grip mat. The mat size is 30.5 30.5
M. On the next page, I'm going to set up the
base material I'm using. Glitter cuts, stock default for the pressure and your
circle is ready to be cut. And that's it. This is how the finished product looks like. Thank you everyone
for joining my today. I hope you like
this craft tutorial and see you in my next video. Bye.
