1. Intro: Hi brands, big fan of cartoons, Commons desk desire. Then you might have some favorite characters in your mind. What does that tell you that you can create such characters yourself? My name is Sasha. I'm a professional instructor in comic artist and today I'm going to teach you how to create simple characters, like having any special journals, bills. Am I right? Yeah. Oh, definitely. You can do this class with the acute as well because it's that easy. That's good. 2. What Is a Character: Before I start tracing our characters, let's define what character actually is. A character is someone who appears in the book movie, exactly representation of individual personality, fictional or dramatic work. They character might be entirely fictional or based on real-life person. Today we're going to create only six. Additional character can be pretty much anything. You can give personality to any objects. I demo anything you want. There. We're going to create four characters. First one, the second one is going to be Dish. A third one is gonna be an animal, and the fourth one is going to be accumulo attractant. Let's move to the next lesson where we create our first Character 3. First Character: Fruit: Well, the first Character less create some type of foods with Brazil, which was be like to view personality. So I really loved when I drink lemonade all the time, going to try and Medicare out departments. First of all, let's create a new canvas. I took the standard square one they have in Procreate. Now go to the color section and choose your color palette. For the brush. I'm choosing this calligraphic monoline brush. Let's start journal lemon. So I chose this yellow color and now I'm drawing the ellipse. This is how I remember lemons. And we have this a little better things on the ends of the lemon. Actually, I want to make it a little bit choppier because this lemon is not how I remember it. Okay, let's add alone more. Perfect. Perfect. Now I'm choosing these contrasting color. I chose the red one. And I'll draw some details from my lemon. Like some pimples. You can feel when you touch the lemon. Next, I'm going to draw this little stick that is coming from the lemon. Sake. We just picked this lemma from the tree. And now I'm going to create some lips. This is how I remember. Lemon lives. Look. Is this accurate? I feel like it is. Now when I create some detail from my lips. The middle part, just to make it more leaf-like looking. Now creating the new layer and drawing some eyes on my lemon because we are going to create a character from it. So I chose this style of eyes. It shouldn't be very accurate. It's just the lines can be wiggly the way you want to draw it. And for his pupils, this is how I draw it. I like this eyebrows. It's very, very quirky. And this smile, also, Fun, I love it. He looks kinda cute. Now we can see the character of this character, which is really good. 4. Second Character: Dish: For the second Character left, create some type of Dish. Me. I always wanted to bring some identity for a coffee shop, for example. They can use as masker. So I will create two cups. That can be a mascot. Maybe. I've created a new document and now I'm gonna choose the color from my cup. The first one, because I'm going to have two cups. This yellow looks nice, but I don't think it's looked good on this Canvas. Maybe something blue. I like this blue. Now I'm gonna make a shape, a base of a cup. This looks pretty accurate. Now we need a handle for our cup. Looks kinda like this. I need my cup to stand on something, so I'm gonna draw a little foot. Now I'm gonna choose a contrasting color, red, as well as for the last character. I'm going to draw some details from my cup. Is separating the base from the handle. Maybe add some texture to the handle itself. Now I'm gonna draw the ice on my character. I want to make a different shape from another character. Maybe some horizontal. This one. I wanted this cup to look up on another cup. I'm going to have above. So let's do some pupils. His eyes. Now I don't like this. Maybe we'll make it bigger. Like this. Let me try again. Yeah, this one works. This one looks good. Now I'm going to add some expressions to his character. Some chicken eyebrows, some cheeky smile. Helix. Pretty, pretty funny Theory. Now it's time to draw another cup. When choose another color for this one, maybe this pinkish beach color. Same shape for the base. The same handle. But I want to make this cup kinda female looking. Some details with the contrasting color. And now it's time to draw some eyes. I want her to have for different shape of eyes. Maybe this round once. It looks pretty cute and kind of naive. Not like it on her. I want her to look down on another cup. So let's draw some pupils. Were quite cute. I love it. I love how it looks like. Some eyelashes. Now let's make her cute smile. Similar to our lemma Character, and some eyebrows. And it's pretty much done. I want to add some blush on her chicks. So she was to look a little bit flatter 5. Third character: Bird: For the third character, Let's create some type of animal. I'm going to create some birds. Like birds very much. First one here for so many kinds of birth. And when we are pleased some and you kind of like bright colored feathers. Maybe like some to faces. I love birds. As always, let's create a new canvas. Choose the colors for our character. I chose this purple color for my bird. I'm going to create some kind of Feagin promptly. So let's start with the hat and some feathers on the neck. Next, I'm gonna draw some leak on him. So I chose this nice peach color for it. I'm going to add some details on it and maybe on the neck as well. Next I want to create the eyes. I want to create this round shaped eyes with the small pupil. Maybe make it a little bit bigger. Maybe even more bigger. Like this one. Now the eyebrow. The next step, we're creating the body. And I want to make it a different color. Maybe this green one. It looks for the nice with the with a purple color. I want him to sit down, kinda chilling, relaxing a little bit. Let's add some details here to just separate body from his legs. Let's next, let's create him some. I chose this nice yellow color for the wings, So it would look good with the green one and with the purple. Let's make another window behind him. Some details like feathers. Next let's draw some legs. And he can silk a little bit. This is pretty much it. Feel his legs with the color. And this is my character. I think he looks very cute. I don't know which birds is this, but he looks very nice, very colorful. I him 6. Fourth character: Human-like: As promised, Character less grade, someone Human-like. Why, you know, an accident to create this characters. Remember that it's entirely fictional. You can create. Some character does have some features of the person, of the human, but not a human. You can make it any color. You can make its legs or arms drawing or like wavy or anything. You can make. Have a four on the body or maybe I didn't know anything you want, maybe some spikes. If you want. The only difference with this character from all other parents. That this is gonna be more dynamic. We're going to create some, some, some action. As always, let's start from the hat. I chose this nice yellow color for my character. Next, let's draw some budding on him. And then I decided to draw some long wavy legs. I want him to kinda dance, like maybe jump. So he would look more dynamic. Some long wave your hands as well to match his legs. Next I'm choosing the contrast color and draw some boots on his legs. Now let's take some other contrasting color. I chose this nice blue shade and I want to draw some closer him. I decided to draw some overalls. Now we're gonna looks like a dancing farmer. Some nice bucket on his overalls. Now let's draw his face. Let's start with the eyes. I decided to draw it like to ellipsis. I gave him a nice smile in some chicken eyebrows, like data characters. I made him blush a little bit so he looks cuter. And I decided also to add some years to his face. Had some details on the hands. Some maybe amputee tear, and some lecture as well. This is pretty much it. This is my Human-like character. He looks very fine, very dynamic. I like it 7. Bonus: Simple Animation: You probably didn't expect this, but I decided to show you how to make even more Fun with your characters. Right now we're going to create some very short animation properties. Let's open our lemma character. I want to animate his legs. And what I'm gonna do first is I'm going to separate the leaves from the brunch so I could animate them. You can do it right from the beginning when you're drawn your character. If you already know what you want to animate. I didn't think of that when I was creating it. So I'm doing it now. And I put a relief on a separate layer. This is how you do it. You just select the leaf and then you slide three fingers across the screen and you see the option, copy and past, and you just do that. And then you choose all of your layers and you put it into one group. Next on Animation Assist. And as you can see, the group is our first frame, and then we duplicate it. So we could do the second frame. You can see our first frame on the background in red color. In animation, we call this onion skin. It helps you to, to animate your character by looking at the previous frame. So I'm rotating my leaves a little bit, so I would have some motion when I animated. And I also want to animate his eyebrows. So I'll lift them up a little bit. On my second frame. We only going to have two frames here. And it's gonna be like very simple animation. Now you can see it's too fast. So open the settings and I'm changing the frame rate to make it slower. I watch it multiple times to see if it's good. And I noticed that one of my lips is kinda detached from the brunch, so I'm going to fix it. Let's now it looks good. I'm totally placed was my animation and I will leave it like that. Let's move to the next characters. I chose these two cups. I want to animate the whole cup, so fluttering them the layers on each cup. Then I put it into a group that we open Animation Assist and we can see her first frame. Let's duplicate it. I duplicate it. Another one. I'll delete it later. Let's go to our next frame. Select our bottom cup. And now I want to create emotion of it. I wanted to shake it a little bit. So I rotate my cup. Then I moved to the next cup, and I also rotate it. Let's see what we have in this animation. Let's played. This is how it turned out. It looks cured, but I think it's too fast. So I'm changing the frame rate. And now I'm satisfied with this one. Next thing, we're going to save our animation. We're choosing animated GIF. Then you can see some options and you can see your GIF animated. And you just hit export 8. Outro: This is this part, this class. Thank you for joining. I really hope you had Fun with this one, and I'm so excited to see own your creations.
