1. Introduction: Welcome to the Donald P. O. V. I'm Donald Fit Skeel Jr. Bringing you my point of view on everything I want to talk about, literally everything. And trust me, I've got a lot to say. So without further ado, let's go. Creating an effective podcast Intro and outro are essential elements to your branding strategy. People's attention span tends to be short, so the intro needs to be catchy as well as unique to grab the listers attention right away . The altro tends to be where a lot of podcasters leave the action steps like Go to my website social sites or subscribe on iTunes. I'm going to give you some tips and techniques to really make your podcast Intron Altro come alive. This class is recommended for anyone who wants to make their podcast intro and outro sound like a 1,000,000 bucks. Who's coming with me?
2. Creating a Podcast Intro: What is a podcast intro? Simply put, Ah, podcast intro is how you begin your podcast. So what makes a good podcast intro? First, let's look at what I believe are the essential elements of a good podcast intro Your name, The name of the podcast, the purpose of the podcast. In my opinion, these three things must be included in the intro. We'll look further into these items in a moment. But first, let's look at some of the other elements that could be included in a podcast dentro the episode, information number, title and topic music and any third party or disclaimer information. So let's look at the key elements of a podcast intro your name. This should be obvious, but you should tell people who you are. If you don't like your name, maybe consider using an alias. But just remember, once you put your name out there, it will be very difficult to later change your name to something else. The name of the podcast Again. Just like your name, you need to tell people what the name of the podcast is. This is essential for your branding and the purpose of the podcast. Now this should be a short, if not very short explanation of what you do or even a tagline or motto of your show. This should be the meat of the intro. Let's look at the purpose line a little bit deeper. My podcast intro is as follows. Welcome to the novel P. O V. I'm Donald Fit Skill Junior, Bringing you my point of view on everything I want to talk about literally everything. And trust me, I've got a lot to say. So without further ado, let's go. So in mine I'm telling you first, the name of the show, then my name. Then I give you a general overview of the show, which is about as general as you can get. I'm telling listeners that I am going to talk about everything I want to talk about. It doesn't get any more general than that, But the show is called the Donald P. O. V. Meaning the Donald point of view. So my thought was that general worked in this situation. So how do you find your purpose line? Well, what is your show about? Is it about politics, health, love, cars, designed finance or something else? What sets your show apart from other shows. As in, If I'm a random person that comes to you and says, Why do I want to listen to your show? How would you respond for me being a voice actor and an educator? It was okay for me to simply say, I'm just going to talk about whatever I want to talk about because enough of my personality has been shown on my different channels through my work and classes, and social media and acting try to make it short. This probably goes without saying, but there is no need to really go deep into what your purpose is. If you want to offer your listeners a deeper understanding of what your show is about, then perhaps you can offer an episode. Zero. This is an episode that is usually aired before your normal podcast shows. Now, in addition to the key elements that we've just talked about, the podcast name, your name and the purpose you might once also includes specific show information. Whenever I do financial podcast, where my words could be confused as advice, I like to give my disclaimer in the beginning and let folks know that the information I'm providing us for educational purposes only, and not to be considered his financial advice. Got it? Now that we've looked at the intro, let's take a look at music.
3. Podcast Music: so if you are a musical person, you can just make the music yourself and be done with it. If you are not quite so musically inclined and or you just want to use someone else's music , you should know that there are plenty of free and paid options out there that are available to you. It's important to know that the music you you should be royalty free, and you should have the right to use it. This means that you can't just use a Drake, Coldplay or Taylor Swift song unless you have the right to do so. If you're just starting out, chances are you're not going to want to pay for the right to use their songs on your podcast. If it's even possible to do so, it might not be possible. I personally have found several artists on Soundcloud that will release their music for free with certain requirements, like getting the artist credit somewhere in writing or providing a link to the common use license that allows me to use the music A few places other than soundcloud that you can visit to get royalty free music free or paid are as follows free Music Archive dot or GTA instant music, mel dot com beat sweet dot com and audio blocks dot com. Now there are more places out there, And if none of these places work for you, just do a quick Internet search for royalty free music When it comes to placing the music, I like to say my voice over intro first, then play the music, then go into my show. You can do it this way or you can play the music at the same time. Is your voice over whatever works best for you? I'll sometimes use the music to transition to different topics on the podcast, because I feel that it gives it a more dynamic feel. And finally, I like to place the music at the very end of the podcast after the Altro one. Before the tagline, speaking of Altro, Let's go there now
4. Creating a Podcast Outro: So what is a podcast? Altro. The podcast. Altro is what you say at the end of your podcast. So what makes a good podcast? Altro. I think a good podcast. Altro contains the following items. Your show name your name, your website, your social sites, a call to action and gratitude. Let's look at these elements a little bit closer. My podcast altro changes slightly each episode, but in general, I'll say. Well, folks, thanks for tuning in. If you like what you heard, please tell a friend and please subscribe on iTunes. Also, remember to check us out online at the Donald p o v dot com and connect with us on Facebook , Twitter and instagram at the Donald P. O. V. Till next time I'm Donald Fit Skill Junior in This is the Donald Feel V, just like the podcast intro, in my opinion, saying your name and podcast name or necessities. Repeating your name and podcast name helps solidify your brand because, after all, when you have a podcast, you are your brand, so make sure to tell people who you are in the intro and outro. You should also mention your website during the Altro as well. For most podcasters, the podcast is a tool to help bring people to them. Mentioning your website to your podcast listeners is always a good idea. The same goes for your social sites as well. This allows you to connect with your audience on a deeper level, so mentioning your social sites is a necessity as well. The call to action is very important. It's a good idea toe. Ask your listeners to do something like Subscribe or visit your website. Or go to your live show or tell a friend that they like the show or really, whatever else you can think of, don't be afraid to ask your listeners to do something in the altro. It's really a win win opportunity. You are giving your listeners more value for their time, and you're helping your brand by building listeners loyalty and last but not least, gratitude. Thank them for listening. The most valuable asset anyone has is there time, and if someone has made it to the end of your podcast, presumably they have listened to the entire podcast, all of your hard work. Your production and effort was all put to good use because someone took the time to listen to it. Be grateful that they did and thank them next up tricks of the trade.
5. Tricks of the Trade: Now that we've looked at the podcast intro, podcast music and podcast Altro, let's take a look at some of the tricks of the trade. These are things that may not necessarily follow the norms, but could be of great use to you as a podcaster number one. Try placing very important information in the very beginning of your podcast. Remember, not everyone will make it to the very end of your podcast. So if there is something that you have to tell people, you might want to say it during the intro number to grab their attention in the beginning. If you don't think that you were talented enough to nail the read, hire a voice actor to read it for you. You can find good quality voice actors on Fiverr. If you need help with your own voice acting ability, check out my class on voice acting the official D i y. Guy to voice acting number three. Be creative. Don't be afraid to do something that no one else is doing. Just because I didn't listed here doesn't mean it won't work. If you have any idea for a great podcast intro and outro go for it you are the boss of your podcast. Number four. Ask your listeners what they think. Getting feedback makes you better. And if your goal is to attract more listeners than you should be listening to what your listeners air telling you, Try out different intros and ask your listeners which one they like best. Turn their feedback into a contest and give the winner with the best feedback, some type of gift. This will not only help you make the best intro and altro you can, but this will also help. You better connect with your audience and number five. Be yourself. I know that sounds cliche, because it is, but just to be yourself, it is so much easier with podcasting or blogging or just life itself. When you are being your authentic self, No one can be you better than you. Put all of yourself into your podcast and believe in yourself and you'll do great. Got it? Then go do it. Let's go
