1. Intro to part 2: Hi, my name is like I've seen and I'm a senior character artists that I have in creating characters since more than seven years now. And in this course, we'll learn how you can create a cute female character in a dancing tools. So this course is divided into three parts. First part will be, will be creating a base body of the character. We'll look at some of the anode or requests and we'll create a cute looking face. For the second part, we'll get into the marvelous designer at Gator, Victorian style dress for her. And in the last part, we'll add more parts like shoes and here, hairstyles and other teams like fools, the character as discourse is for someone who have interest in creating good-looking characters, especially female characters. And you have some prior knowledge of 3D sculpting software such as ZBrush. Next time for part two of this course in which we focus on creating this Victorian style does n long list is on. Let's start with the first chapter. 2. Creating the base dress in MD: Hello and welcome to the first class of this course. And this one will create a Victorian style does for the character that we've made already. If you haven't watched the first part of this course, I suggest you do that. We took a look at how we create the space body from scratch. So let's start with this one. So for this period of peace, for the character, firstly, select the polygon tool. And you have your body there. According to that theatre rough shirt or a black sheep. Sheep and trying it. Once we have the ship ready, you can tweak it using cartoon on the neck area and on the media. And you can press Control D to duplicate it. On the other side. You can also select both and control C and control V to copy paste. And then all you have to do is sue them together. Well that you have to go to segment tool and click on each of the edges, but you only want to be sued. The middle and on the back, as well as on the sides. Headspace to simulate it. You've gotta applause ready, which can act as a top part of our dress. Well, that again, go to the polygon tool and cleared out of Lee Scott shaped pattern. The length depends on you. For now, let's experiment with something conical. That's it. Again, we will follow the same procedure that we did earlier, Control D to symmetric mirror it and put it on the other side. Then select both and Control C and Control V to make a copy of food patterns, which will go on the back, the back button all at one place so that there won't be any confusion and clutter-free space. Now, going back to the segment swing and we'll sue all the edges that needs to be solved together. This may require some practice. So you can also go into 3D view. If you're using marvelous designer, a tenable, then you can see from the 3D view as well. Make sure you seal the top part acid to this curve. If you're suing is reversed, press control or right-click and you can go to reverse doing it except headspace to assimilate. And we've got a skirt. Me is ready. Now you can manipulate this pattern. It's all yours. You can change whatever you like and ever. So let's make it a little bit of code here. First, add a point. So what I'll do, I'll just enter the values according to myself. You just have to right-click while adding the point hovering on the land right-click and you will get this dialog box. You can enter the values. Now go to the segments how you can move your disease at once. That way we can just tweak our pattern on it. You don't have to copy any other pattern or anything from internet. It's just you have to understand how certain regressors work or how you want them to fit on your character. Just have to be mindful of that and it'll all work out in the geometry. I'm making it from scratch. We have all the law to interpret. If there's any error, will fix it. Since I wanted a little bit wider play. I'll go other good fighter will fix all the errors that is coming. You can see that flask shaped is happening, so we'll fix that, by the way. Just have to create the pattern, increase this. I'm in degrees the code that is happening, but we'll fix by taking the packet kaboom, I can just multiply the inside and on the other side as well. I'll just call this point since it could look into pointed present on both sides and Headspace, stimulated again and see the result. Looking pretty good for the base. We can walk on top of it. We can also decrease the width of it since it's going too wide. You can do that at any point of time. You just have to select the points, but you want to change and move them. Other fraction. Who can be rough since we are going after he go to the brush. So it's okay if the points are not, the length and width are not pretty accurate according to the real-world, but that's fine. That's it for the base for the first video. We'll need it further. We will add layers as well as scholars and reading. And the next one, so I'll see you there. Let's just increase it a little bit. Why not before? Yeah. It was a little too short for my taste. Looking good. Why not? Since we're here, let's make the color black to select the material will have the properties. You can select black. It's cutting in the video, but I'm sorry for that. See you there in the next class. 3. Adding Collar to the Dress: Welcome back to the second lesson. Let's start with creating the codex. That Let's grab a rectangle tool. Real quick. Here. I just made a quick fixes on the neck. Nothing else. And whatever shape you want, like the length. It's not anything very precise, but let's have a value which just combines all these four sides of your neck. And then you can add equal amount of segments, three segments, because we will sue them altogether on three sides. That's why these segments at the bottom. Keep it there. We can turn on our other points for ever done for placement. This one. It's always hard for me to get it right. Come on. Back. Yeah. Got it. There we go. Placement points are here. Now. We can easily just like you. Okay? Once we have that here, we can just rotate it. First. We cancel them using segmenting. Both ends. Headspace similarity. I've got a color thing that just wraps around the neck. Increasing the length a little bit. And using creatively for quicker and easier way, we can just simulate that will be added four points you remember? Now we can just hit space and the color of the rash itself to the dress. Know what we can do. We can make it a little more relaxed. That's why I increase the length of our grass a little bit on top. And now we can just duplicate the color using control C and 2.2 will be the top part of the color. I will just rotate the color here and place it on top of it. And I will just sue them together. Keep in mind that once you do that, it won't be perfect. It's just a placement. It's going to fold up and go up. You have to change the pattern to an exact color. Then, and only then it'll fix itself. So for now let's just remove the swing by using at each segment, delete the Sioux. And we'll see all the parts of the color together. Two pieces using edit, segment, checking, mentoring. And since we rotated it and behave a little bit weird way, we'll have to figure out what we're doing there. So that's what is happening. Vshield the wrong part, the bottom part to the volume. We have to sue the top part. Let's just do that. Select the color. If you select the color, you will see the black. Dark appear to have to. You can also check which line is near to the blue dot and you can see all that fat like this. Again. We can, again go and split this into two parts by using connections. You got MCO, sorry. Here we go. We have them in two parts. Now. Now we can just show this color to both of the bytes, which just created the points which is not required. And what we can, we are split into line to add another point and then we can just do it altogether. Like this. This again, his might look weird. If you'll see the segment was doing is reversing, hit Control V. Refine how you got the color. What Let's, let seem to have done so that we have some hard edges on the edges. The edges will be hard if we've seen them. So yeah, while fixing, you'll see that the color is rotating upward. You will also see me struggling a lot with the color because it keeps on rotating until I will fix the actual shape of the column, which is very important. This rectangle doesn't work for color. Yes, that's what I am trying to do here. I'm just going to select the edges and it seemed to have them like this. So that we have some straighter edges. There you go. The color is in water now, whatever I dry it, it will be inverted if I rotate them. So in this case, we have to fix the shape of the color. It might look like it'll work. But I kept this part to show you my struggle. But yes, we can not just simply fix it using that. Also hurting knowledge, whatever you do, don't we have to change the shape for that? Should have any noted on the colors selected. Go to what do you want Blanco. And then you can pull it inward again from the top and the bottom part as well. It hits its base. Anyway, it won't go up now, being wider as well. And we'll put the color, the simple rectangle, mind you, it will not work for the color. You have to make it a shape, at least the top line curved. That's why it fits properly then. That's it for the color. I might change it a little bit of the shape, make it more lengthy, increase the length of it. Now, once I have the beast ready, I saw that a little bit too short, which is concrete the length. And again, it's all part of trial and error. But we can do we can increase the length of the top part as well. We can just change the shape a little bit. Make it a little bit. On the high side. 4. Detailing the Top: Hello and welcome back to the next lesson. And this one wouldn't take a look at how we can split the top part of the dress and make it transparent, at least make it offer different field what it is right now. I just moved the points from shoulder so that it covers a little bit more and can have a little bit more area. We can also look to bottom part as well. Or we can decrease the car. Like some space to simulate. Again. There we go. Looks a little bit more natural. And seamless. Sso on the backpack. It can be a little bit relaxed. That's fine. A little bit more clearly. Once you are here, you have to figure it out from what distance, from whatever points you want to go from there to add. So you can click on here on the button in the 3D window to have a look at where this blue dot is appearing. And then you can create a cut using internal seem like internal patterns. So once you've got the idea of the blue line, a blue dot where it's appearing. You can just go to the internal pattern and start drawing or almost wherever it was. Click on the last point to apply the action. You've got the internal live there. And you can also do the same at the back-end. So let's do that. You just have to eyeball it where our line started, somewhere here so you can click on it. And she was going again, double-click to finish the action. And we can again move the point. We want to match it more closely. To do that, you can just go to Edit Points and hold it on. There was not much space, so I moved it inward. Once we have it, we can just select the lines that we want to split it from. Looking at it points selected. Likely, you will cut the parts and then like this, don't swing, it will sue them together. Now we have the part separately. We can apply another material on it. We can do changes according to Horney, up like a little Merida on it using this button. And we can increase the transparency for this as well. In the material properties, you can change color and decrease the opacity down so we can rename or what will that be? Have clear identification of what's left of the screen, what it's like renaming our layers in Photoshop. It is also a very important step to log back. Let's now apply the fabric property to the float, which is my lawn Canvas, which I liked, works best with distress. That seem like there's some extra artifacts which is coming. You can fix that. Let's give some other the same material to their address as maybe something else, which fixes the artifacts. Whatever books you can experiment with it a couple of them. Once we have the base, something that we can work on is ready. You can move ahead or we can just try applying different current materials. Something which is heavy can work. So that's it for this one. The next one, we'll add the frame. I'll see you there. 5. Adding first layer of frill: Hello and welcome back to another lesson of this series where we're creating the Victorian style dress for occur. So for this one, Let's add the first layer of frilly dress. What I'm doing right now, I'm just creating one internal line. Just select it two edges and right-click on them. And did officer does internally so that I can sue these pattern for them. And this pattern will behave like a fruit. So let's take a free swing. Tune. This time, no Segment tool, just freezing. You have to click on one edge and click on the wall internally. Then press Space. Oh, it went all the way back. V assumed on the wrong side of the garment. What we'll do, we'll just move it here and we'll do the same thing. Again. Select on one edge, then click on it, and then click on the other internal line. It'll get sued. And it didn't know. Here we go. Got one thing in place. We have to do now is to duplicate this part. First, Let's assign different kind of material. Do it. I will be changing the property preset later. Whatever feels heavy and falls freely can go in this. Let's change the color to something similar to what we have, grayish black. And we can play whatever you want, play with the roughness. Let's just for visual seek. Once we are okay with this one, Let's select it and Control D it, or maybe increase it so that we have more false or better. Go. Now, Control C and Control D to symmetric duplicate it. Then we will seal these two. It's using segment to this. Got you. There we go. Pretty easier. Makes sure you sue it. Just make sure you sue the patterns in the internalized it. And again, we'll just copy paste it using Control-C and Control-V rotated in place. And we'll just do them in their internal line that we already have on the top. So again, 1 " and internalized headspace reorder first layer offer better to arrange your patterns according to the need so that it's easier and faster for you to find. And if me, I'll make sure space clutter-free. Clutter-free. We can also join these two ends of the buttons. We just have to find using the blue dots. What is what, and we can just take meant to do this, is that better? And so segment to the top, to the stop and space. Got it. That's it for this one. I will add more detail in the next lessons. 6. Detailing Dress Part 01: Hello and welcome back again to another lesson. In this one, let's create more of these frill and complete our dress. So what I did, I've used Sherpa fleece preset for the free. Today it falls freely, which is great for that. And for the look, I am just changing your playing with the opacity. Once I'm happy with this, I guess I still want to change opacity a little bit more, okay, a little bit electrons back. So let's create another layer on top of it so that we can complete our top, but just control C and control V. We look at the pattern and we will sue them on double. If it does. We can show them on the same internal life. If you want, you can create other internal life. But for me I think you will find them accordingly so that it intersects minimally. To avoid intersection a lot. Again, take the free segment tool, dig 1 " and sewage onto the internal line of dots. To make this, since it's symmetrical, seal the other vitamins from one edge to the back. Light. I hit space. You can also, in my case, I again set the capacity to quote so that I can see what is going on. Clearly. It was intersecting. So I pulled it out and fixing them is important. It can ruin your whole dress. It's like a chain reaction. You have to be aware of what you're gonna do. You can set the layer, them on one layer and on the one can be non-zero layer on top, whatever comes can be on what firstly, that you can do to avoid this kind of flickering, which isn't happening. Well, it looks like what I do and add fruits along the way is desperate and fall down. Again. I'll select the pattern. Both of them on the front to the back and offset tend to value according to what you want. It shows that in the previous. And you can also enter it manually and hit Okay, you can get them done. Once we have the internal line set up, we can start creating the pattern. Again. Take the rectangle tool and drag out a rectangle. Whatever size you want can be big. Because the bigger the pattern is, the more freely. Now, we can segment to it. You're going to see your one-line hold shift and click on the other line. It will sue on two lines at once. If you hold down Shift key while chewing, it will select multiple lines for sure. There we go. We have one print setup. We can again scale it up a little bit to have more food. This case. Here, there we go. I wanted a lot more for it. So I went with the scaling. Now there we go. Looks much better. So what I have decided is to add an internal line here and start from bottom to top, not from top to bottom. There were to be hard to manage because the top will be on outer layer and the bottom will be the inner clear. That's why we have started, we have decided to start it from the bottom. So I'll just move this pattern, delete this doing and move the pattern down. First fixed and don't align, make sure it's straight. And I'll just move it for my representation, for my visibility. And I'll remove the steering using a stick at it too. And then I can again use the free Cygwin and holding down Shift. I can click on both of the lines, then I can seal them. Polar bonds. Since it's at the bottom, the length is looking a little bit too long. Let's scale it down a little bit. Let's fix the well in simulation first. Let's space-bar well as assimilation it outwards and its basic, it should be fine. Let's fix the length. First. There we go. I need space so it can flow freely if we'd have some space to simulate. Now, again, control D to duplicate it and move it on the other side. Oh, they did. And we can do it too soon for now. Since it's taking up on the same tool, I can delete it and I think we have to remove the linked editing for that. For that, you can just select both and right-click on it and click on the Remove linked at equal removed the symmetry on both the pattern. This way you can change or edit. You're suing according to yourself. Once that's done. The same process, there's increased segment tool. And if you've seen that it's reversed just because your pattern is rotated. Once you simulate it, you can segment, seal the ends of your patterns so that it appears like we have one single group. Will repeat this process. Since we get all the frills done for this dress and make it complete. So I guess the next part will be the last one, and I'll see you there. 7. Detailing Dress Part 02: Hello and welcome back. Let's start with adding more fields to the dress for the analysts, they can enter our internal line shape tool and create internal line along this axis and along the x-axis. Because wherever you want it, just keep it there. That way you want your friends to happen. Keep your internal out there and make sure your lines are pretty much true. Now next step is to duplicate this pattern, control C and control V, and place it around where we made our internal line. Just now. What we'll do, we'll just sue them on that. We will use the same technique that we have been doing since now. Free segment to silicon, which curve shifts selling this and shift select this one. It gained one edge. Shift. Select both. Nora how to select when you started the first one. We'll just have to shift select from here. Click Shift and Deb. I didn't join everything headspace to assimilate quite the second layer of loving God already. Let's go down the line. That's already there be to get it. The first in the beginning. What we'll do, we'll just copy this again. Both of patterns, Control-C and Control-V, can elongate. Why not? Whatever works for you. It's too much scale it down. And we can move both of them. Don't. Looking at all angles, making sure that it looks fine. Again, leaving the top and then a line aside at adding it manually, again on where I want my friends to happen. Because I wanted one more layer. That's fine. Let's move them on bottom so that we know what is on the bottom and what keeps going up. Duplicating it. Control C, control V. And again, using free segment to answering it on the recently made to the line. Steph. And drag headspace to simulate the heavy held the third layer off often. Looking pretty nice already. Looks good. What we'll do, we'll just keep adding one more further to the right, playing with the pressure a little bit to give him some more volume. But it's going a little bit more so we can move it in ZBrush as well. If you find a desert is not going to be in marvelous. You can take it a little bit easier for you or working on live. You're going to show this as a final note. I suggest you work on it a little bit more. Prepare your gravity's pressures and veins. According to that. More close, I'm adding heavier my scene sketching. So be aware of that too. Once we're happy with this. Let's experiment a little bit of scale, but I guess that was too much. Let's move them a little bit side and duplicate the top layer so that we create another layer. And this time we'll sue on the land that we created in the beginning. Again using chewing, be suing, suing McDonald's. Making sure that this URI down the Shift and select critical. That's pretty much it. We pretty much have the dress ready. Alternate to do at this point is tweak according to what? My desires or whatever. Or you want longer, whatever you want shorter you get, just have to select both of them and scale. You want to play with pressure on go. Do that. If you want to create this kind of bell shaped effect, or if you want a conical effect, you can always play with pressure. Try that. Hope you learned something. And I'll see you in the next one. 8. Finishing the Dress: Hello and welcome back to another video. It's gonna be the last one for this byte. So in this one, Let's add to the mix that is whatever is connecting the dots to the neck part. Let's have that. For that, let's add a line and create a rectangle on top of that. So we have the similar kind of pattern. We can always say a little bit and we can assign this. Why not? No. All you have to do is get rid of that wherever you want it to be soon. Once you put one or two lines to one of their lives and their segments, you the other one on the other internal line. There we go. We can do this. One. We can live with it. We can change everything is the brush. Just because we, just to get an idea of what we're dealing with, we have some part here. We want to extend it and make it all the way to the color, make it a proper color. So for that, let's just extend it a little bit and change the jewelry. To put a doubt, we wanted to show it on top of stack as well. Let's change it. We want to show it here. So what we'll do in just delete the Zoom from what black. Just add one segment there. I know the values which are perfect to wait to all the bedroom which was there on top, which is connecting the color, triad it manually. Now I can edit the ceiling by using edit. And I can move it down and just delete it and shoot. And on the dog bun, we can hit space, we've got it. Now we can add this one button as well, but that will be adding later on. Now it's not. We just have to make sure that it fits under the collar. Well, you can use PIN as well. If you hold a blue and click on any of the are to create a pin. Let's fast forward that. Fix this line. For now. That's pretty much it. I guess I will be fixing a little bit here and then putting the fence and there are already kept them in place so that the pattern and friends Don't go too much. You are free to use pins, feature, to be shy, to use that. And do whatever, finds, whatever works for you. Use your pen tool, the segments properly, as well as use suing properly that you can get the result of what you want. And in the last part, finished the character. So make sure to watch that. I'll see you there. Cheers, Bye.
