1. Introduction: Hi, my name is operating and I'm excited to launch my first
course on Skillshare. I'm a professional photographer
with over 70 years of experience in reading
and fashion industry. I have over 50 thousand
followers on social media, which includes the YouTube,
Facebook, and Instagram. Being an artist, I experiment a lot with my
photographs to create variety of visual content that has the potential
to go viral. I'm going to teach you these
techniques that I have adapted over the years of
experience in my courses. So are you trying to learn a mind-blowing technique that will bring life to your images. In this course, I will teach you gotta transitioning
method to transform an image into a
psychedelic and trippy artwork. I would share a simple
step-by-step approach to achieve. You can apply this technique
to improve your portfolio. I created these logos for
my personal projects. We will be working on Photoshop After Effects and Premier Pro. After finishing this course, you will be able to add pocket
or in your photographs. So let's buckle up. You're going to
enjoy that, right? See you in the next class.
2. Processing Raw Image in Lightroom: Hi, Let's start with
first-class of the course. I have selected this
image because I really liked the background
colors. It's vibrant. And I'm curious to see how the final artwork
will look like. We will play around with the
colors of the background. I click this image in
Delhi at cannot place. The background represents
Indian heritage. Here's a camel which
represents the largest turn. Here are some Indian
traditional instruments. Here's a critically dancer. The fold downs of
care large dead. This is India gate, and here are some people in a
traditional attire. I click this image and draw. We have to process this
first in light room. Let me import it. I'm keeping the
default settings. As you can see,
the image is very flat because I shot this in row. We have to increase saturation by brands
and contrast a bit. I'm increasing the clarity to bring out the texture
in the background. Yellow color seems
a bit too loud. I will reduce its saturation. If you press the Alt key, you can see the mask. White lines represent the edges. Areas highlighted in white are the only ones
being sharpened. It is the brightness of this object to give
it more emphasis. And we are good to go. Here you can see the
final edited image. We will use this photograph
in the next class.
3. Creating Layers in Photoshop: Now we're ready to move
to the next phase. We will import the
image in Photoshop. We will set this image
in full HD resolution. Let's first crop this image
in perfect expect ratio. Select the crop tool. The width will be 1920 and
height will be 100. So the image is cropped
in perfect aspect ratio, but we also have to
adjust the image size. So hold on Control plus H plus ion windows that will bring up this image size dialog box
enter 1920 and the width. And we enjoyed during the height Control Plus to zoom the image, we can remove the black border
because it doesn't look good. Make a selection. You can hold down the
left mouse button to see that it is an option. Select the background
eraser tool and remove it. Press E to access the
eraser. And we are done. We will duplicate this layer, select the layer and
press Control plus j, select the bottom layer, press Control plus a to select the image in
the bottom layer, press Control plus T. We
are ready to transform it. Hold down the Shift button, extent the bottom layer image
on both sides, like this. Now we will apply the
Gaussian filter in the bottom image Filter,
Blur, Gaussian Blur. I'm keeping a pixel radius. We can also soften this edge, select the top layer. We will use basic eraser tool. You can use square brackets to increase or
decrease the size. Right-click to open this menu. They will use hardness value
of let say 15 per cent. Click on that point. Hold down the Shift key and
click again at the bottom. Repeating the same
process again. We can merge both of
these layers together, select them and press
Control plus e. Now go to Image Adjustments,
Hue Saturation tab. There are three parameters. Here represents actual
color that is shown. Saturation shows how deep
the color actually is. If I drag it to the left, the image will go
completely gray. And if I drag it to the right, the colors are very deep. In simple terms,
lightness is how much black or white is
mixed into the image. Go into the complete left, will give me a black image. Go into the complete right
will give me white image. Now let's see the
impact of hue slider. Isn't this the intended effect that we are trying to achieve? So while I was trying to achieve this effect
for the first time, I tried to move hue slider in a continuous manner
using my mouse wheel, and I was recording
the entire screen. Then I cropped this
part out in the video. But that is definitely
not the smartest way. One more trick that
you can do is you can increase the hue in this step
value of five, so 51015. And so after each increment, you can export the
image and each stitch all those images
together to create a video. But that is a very
tedious process. I will tell you smart
way in the next class. Now, we will create
a mask so that the main subject is not being impacted with
this huge changes. We will again duplicate
this layer control plus j. I'm making the
bottom layer invisible. We will remove the subject
from the top layer. I'm selecting the Quick
Selection tool with a plus sign Control Plus
to zoom the image further. Began subtract the
selection using this tool. The selection has been done. We can make the edges
of the selection a bit soft by introducing
the feather radius, press Shift plus F6, and select the
feather radius of, let's say 0.3 pixels. Okay, Now select
Background Eraser tool. Click once in the selected area, and now select the
normal eraser tool and erase out the
entire subject. We can make the
bottom layer visible. Now, if I apply the same effect, it will not impact the subject. We will explore these layers
one-by-one top layer in the PNG format file, save as Control plus S to open
the saved dialog box. Now, we will import these
two layers in Adobe After Effects and
proceed from there. See you in the next class.
4. Color Transformation in After Effects: Welcome back. Now, this is where the magic happens
in After Effects. Let's import the two images that we created in
the last class. We have both the images here. I will drop the PNG layer
from this window to here. And it will create
a new composition. Below the PNG layer, I will drop this image layer. Here is the timeline. Under the Effects and
Presets search hue. The hue and saturation
effect can be found under the color
correction category, and this allows us to
modify their colors. So we will drop this
effect over the PNG layer. As we have seen
in the Photoshop. This is hue slider. If I click and drag
this radial control, we are going to shift the
color hues of every pixel. We have made one
complete rotation, and the cycle repeats, not do complete rotation. So here you can see the
number of complete rotations, and this is number of degrees. So the entire hue slider has
been split in 360 degrees. So this preview represents the standard true
colors of the image. And here you can see how the
colors have been shifted. The blue colors have
transitioned to read, the green colors have
shifted to blue, and so on. Let me reset it. Now I will apply one complete round of hue effect over this timeline. So I have to go over here
under the PNG drop-down. Open the FX drop-down. Under hue saturation. You will see this color range
stopwatch. Click on it. That will create a keyframe over the starting of the
timeline as shown here, small diamond shape is present. So at this point, the settings have been logged. These are the settings. We'll go to the end
of the timeline. This is a 30-second
long timeline, and I will change the rotation
by one complete cycle. Here you can see the
keyframe has been applied. If I move this indicator
across the timeline, you will see the gradual
effect of hue changes. We have been using
the master control. Let's see what
happens if I change the channel control
from master to greens. You can play around
with this parameter. And now you will see
that the pixel with green color are the
ones being affected. So for example, I
can keep it here because I think the
green was a bit loud. So I have manipulated my image, selecting only the green pixels. Here you can see the
transition in Hughes again. But here you can observe that
the green pixels are the exact same that we had
in the original image. It's because the change
that we have done in the green color range was being applied only to
this particular keyframe. So you have to again change the settings for this
particular keyframe. We're all set to export this. Go to File, export, add to Adobe Media
Encoder Queue. This is our file. I will update the
output file location, and we will start the rendering. Here is the output file
with the desired effect. This is a 30-second
long composition. The color change
is very gradual. If I increase the speed, you
will see the transition. This looks drippy, right? This is how we can achieve
this effect in After Effects. Now, we are left with just one more class to create
the final output file. See you in the next
lesson. Thank you.
5. Finishing the Project in Premiere Pro: Now we are just one more step
away from the final output. We will explore the
final footage that we created in the last
class in Premier Pro. So here is the footage. We'll copy this footage
multiple times. So I have copied this
image control C, and then I will paste
it multiple times, Control V, control V, and so on. Then I will nest this. I'm selecting all these
video clips together. I will right-click and
select them nourished. Now, I will bump up the
speed by, let's say 1200%. You can also go ahead with 1500 per cent if you want
a faster transition. Here is the final output. This is amazing right? Now you can also make some changes like you
can add your logo, you can put up an audio track, you can add a background music. You can make whatever edits
you want in Premier Pro. Now, we will export this
footage and we're all set. File Export Media. I can select this
option render at maximum depth for
better quality. All the settings I have fixed. You can check the settings also. Width and height are as
per the original ones. Frame rate, I'm keeping
it at 30 FPS and export. Within a few minutes, we are able to
create this effect. It does look amazing. If I'm going to upload
this on Instagram, I will upload it as a carousel
post with this video clip, the original photograph and probably one photograph with a black and white version
of the original one. That's it. I hope you really enjoyed the course.
As a project. You can click a photograph, make some changes in the color if you do not have
After Effects. Don't worry, you can
use Adobe Photoshop. Play with the hue slider. You may change the
color of the clothes. So I look forward to
seeing the results. I will share more such
amazing techniques in my upcoming courses. So stay tuned. Thank you.
6. Final Thoughts: I hope you enjoyed this course. You can apply this technique
or improve your portfolio, not only in your photographs, but also you can make
interesting logos. For example, I created these logos for my
personal projects and I applied the same
technique and you can see how impactful
the final output is. I also created an
AR Instagram filter where I applied this technique. As you can see that filter gifts or trippy glow in
the dark effect. Please share your feedback
that will help me to improve my future
courses on the platform, I would urge you to visit the project section and
submit that assignment. Even if you are a
complete beginner, that will help to get
comfortable with these tools. That is Photoshop, lightroom, Premier Pro and After Effects, I look forward to
your submissions. If you want to get
