1. Welcome: Reels, AI & Why This Matters for Creators: Hello, and welcome
to this class. We all know how powerful Instagram is when it
comes to discoverability. Over 80% of users say it helps them in
deciding what to buy. And when it comes
to Instagram reels, they consistently get way more engagement and reach
than any other format. But here's the thing,
creating reels that actually look professional
and convey the right message. With the right calls to action, that's where a lot of
creators get stuck. But from time, tools, or the know how. But that's where AI comes in. I'm doctor Mayo, a
digital strategist, content creator, and
founder of Biz Crow Media. I've helped artists, businesses, entrepreneurs, big brands grow their visibility with lean, reputable content
strategies using easily accessible
tools like Chat GPT, Canva, all forms of
AI tools, and more. So in this class,
I will show you how I use that exact approach. Create an Instagram reel for a client's flower art
collection and how you can use it to promote
your own creative works, your services, in
under 30 minutes. You learn how to
use AI tools like Chat GPT to generate
messaging captions, design scroll stopping visuals
and Canva and using AI voiceover and effects and animation to make your
content pop visually. So whether you're just
getting started or want a faster clean or
easier way to show up online and engage more
online with your content, this class will help you create professional reels without
the overwhelm. Let's jump in.
2. Reel Preview + Tools We’ll Use: So here we are in Canva here, and I'm actually
going to show you the final real preview so you can get an idea of
what we've created here and what you
can also create. So I'm going to play it. And you will notice it's
about 13 seconds. It's a reel, so
it's sort of like in video format, but here we go. Introducing the flower
collection handcrafted, one of a kind pieces
designed to bring joy and color to your
space available now. Tap the link to Shop Now and
bring joy to your walls. There we go. So as
you can see here, you saw a couple slides. You heard a voiceover. You also heard effects, and I'm going to
show you how you can use this exact approach. First thing we will
cover, though, are the tools we're using
to accomplish this. And that is, first of all, had GPT and Canva. And we'll using AI features in both to be able to
accomplish our goals today. So let's get into
that and start with Chat GPT and creating our hooks, our captions and
the written content that needs to go into RL.
3. Writing Captions & Hooks with ChatGPT: So here we are in Chat GPT, and we're going to
use Cha GPT to create our hook and call to action. And again, especially if you do not have the
skills of a marketer, this could be a curve in knowing exactly how to write the
hook and call to action, which is very essential to you accomplishing your marketing
goals with your content. When you leave stuff
like this out, then you notice that you do not get the outcomes that
you're expecting because you've not directed people to follow a path
that'll give you that outcome. So here, things that will
matter is the content, the intent, and the
call to action. And in this instance,
I am going to upload all the
pictures that have the artwork into Chat GPT and tell Chad GPT the intent
and what we want. Now, this might be a little different to what we've created, but it gives you a format that I used to be able
to create that. Alright, so here they are here, Flower one, two, three,
four, five, six, six pieces of artwork in our collection that we
want to market on a Reel, and you see how blowed it here. And now I'm going
to tell Chat GPT, I want to create a reel on Instagram to showcase
my new art collection, yellow flowers coming out. Give me a hook. And a CTA I can use that'll
intrigue the audience. And so when we share it here, you'll see now that it's
going to give us something that'll make sense to the content that we want
to put out there. And so it says, Here's
a compelling hook and CTA Combo for
your Instagram Reel, showcasing your Yellow
flowers art collection. If Yellow could speak,
what would it say in bloom introducing a radiant new way
to feel joy through glass? This is yellow
flowers, not just art, but light captured in
bloom. That's for a hook. Over here, it says voice over
text or relays suggestion. Each piece tells a Sunday
story crafted with glass soil and a love for
nature's golden glow. So you get to see
all the stuff here, where to drop a flower
in the comments, I yellow makes you smile DM to collect your favorite
before it sells out, tap the link in the bio. So as you can see,
we have the content now that can go on our reel, based on us just
providing hat GPT our artwork and the psychology of what we want to accomplish. Now we're going to move
on to the next step, which is actually in and
covers how to design the reel. Let's check it out.
4. Designing Your Reel in Canva: Picking the Right Template: So now we're in Cava. Of course, you want to create
an account in Cava, and once you have created
it and you log in, you want to go create
your new design, which is simply the
plus sign over here. And so once you select Create, you have an
opportunity right here to choose the template that
you want, which is very, very important, especially if you're creating a reel
because to create reels, you want to make sure it's
nine by 16 and not 16 by nine. And because if you have
a free account in Canva, you typically cannot resize after you've created
your design. You need a pro account for that. So it's very important that
right from the onset you pick the right template so you do not frustrate yourself in
this whole process. Now, the beauty of it
is, as you can see, the templates here already show a lot of nine by 16, you know? So you can simply
go in here and say, I want an Instagram
real, Instagram, real. And as you can see, you have many options over here
that you could select. So if I select this, it's going to give me a blank template for me
to start creating with, or I can also come
back here and use any of these templates that
you see on the left here. But at least now I know that
my template is nine by 16. So you want to make sure
you're selecting that. Now, being an artist, you also want to consider how many pieces of your artwork you want
to put out there. So if I were to choose this one over here,
as you can see, I have the opportunity to
put six pieces of artwork right there, depending on
the template that I choose. And so I might want four. I might want six, but choosing
the right template makes your life easier because
in this instance, your drag and dropism
is what I like to call, it becomes so easy. As you can see, it just makes
life a whole lot easier. Now, for our design
here, as you can see, it's called the Gray Scrapbook
aesthetic collection. That's what we use.
So if I were to go back here and search
for gray scrapbook aesthetic collab, it pops up here, as you can
see, right there. So this was what I used and then rearranged to be able to
suit exactly what I wanted. So as you can see,
I could do all six of them in here and
then modify this. Now, if I simply play it,
this is all what you get, as you can see, and this was the template then
that I built on. So choosing your
template is very, very important because that
sets the tone when it comes to the format shape and the content that's
going in there. Now we're going to
move into customizing the template that you've
chosen with your artwork.
5. Customizing Your Reel: Artwork, Text, and Slides: Comes to customizing
your template, the first thing you
want to do, of course, is make sure that you're adding your content into Canva
to be able to do that. And what's very important
is you want to make sure that the content
is bright and sharp. I won't show you here, but the previous ones that
I had here were dull. I had to delete
them after putting them in here and realizing
they didn't look too sharp. So you want to make
sure that you want your content looking so good and so sharp to be able to pop out when you
actually put it in here. And so how then can you simply drag and drop your artwork
into the template? Well, look, we have
six boxes in here that we can fill
with our artwork. So how do I do that simply by dragging in there,
as you can see. I pick them, I drag
them in there, very simple, as you
can see, very simple. You just drag it in there. I drag all of them
into the boxes that I have available
for me already, and the boxes pretty much
eat them up, as you can see. Now the beauty is, do not forget all this can be adjusted. All we're doing right here is just filling in stuff, you know? So, if this is good,
you can simply go, Hey, I'm going to post
this, but, of course, you want to add a lot more stuff to it
and you want to move it around and make it look good. Now, if you notice, I was just thinking of the fact that if we're going to
showcase something, this template here,
which they've provided, does not give you the
call to action, right? It doesn't give you
all that stuff. So we need more time. We need more space
in there to be able to sort of put our
marketing content in there. So I will go back to the one I created here so you can see, because what you're
seeing now is pretty much what's over here, and the intro is not there. So what I'm landing at
is you might want to create additional content that you are going to slide in there. And what was my idea
was to say, Hey, the flower collection is here
to put the intro slide here before the customized
template comes through, and I'll show you
exactly how I did. So in this instance, I went to Canva AI, which is over here, and then create an image, and I said, I need
an image that says, The flower collection is here, handcrafted one of a kind, ready to bring joy
to your walls, make it have many bright
flowers and bold text, right? And so for my cover, this was what I
got. A good amount. As you see, I first
made the mistake here of choosing 16 by nine, and then I had to correct
myself and come over here and then make
sure it's nine by 16. Now, I eventually
picked this one, as you can see, but you will also notice that it's
yellow over here. It is not the same
color you're seeing here because I felt this
was a little too busy. And since we were talking
about yellow flowers, how was I going to
make that change? So, you know what
I decided to do? I went back into Canva and
went to Canva AI again. And as you can see
here, what did I do? I said, create a design
featuring flowers here. In this picture, I uploaded
this picture very came here, I uploaded the picture, I added
the media, which is here. It said, create a
design featuring the flowers here more
yellow than red. And so it says, Got it. And it decided to create all these designs that still
did not work out for me. Where I'm landing at here
is using the combination of AI to accomplish your
ghost, because eventually, what I did was then go into Cha GPT and uploaded
the image in Chad GPT, and I said, Can you change
the colors on this to be more yellow flowers in
nine by 16 template. And you can see I was a little
frustrated here with this? Like, yellow. I
didn't even get it right the spelling because
I was like, in a hurry. But now, see what it gave me. So I was able to download this, simply go back to Cam
and upload it right here and then incorporate
it into the slide. So I wanted to give
you that background on creating the intro
slide and what it took. And then created a
whole brand new design, which I corporated that image, and here I added flowers
from the elements here, as you can see, these
are the elements, just to put it on the
edge here, and boom, we have our first slide by simply downloading it and
re uploading it into Canva. So this becomes its own image. This becomes its own slide and whether you want to
import it or whether you want to download it and re upload it into Canva,
that's tollly up to you. There are many styles
that people can use. Which is simply what we're doing and adding it to Canva again. So going back to what we
were customizing here, we want to now add our intro
slide. How do we do that? Simply drag over here and make sure it's in
front, as you can see. Right there, it is
right in front now, and it goes for a
couple seconds and then goes to the artwork
as you see right there. And that's very quite simple. Now, we'll go to the
final one again, and as you can see, you'll start to see
the build up here. As we go to where we are right now on
the flower collection, handcrafted one of a
kind pieces designed to bring joy and color to
your space. Available now. Tap the link to Shop Now and
bring joy to your walls. So as you can see, we've covered Step one and Step two here. But if we go to what
we're designing, you notice this is 5 seconds. Over here, it is 2 seconds, which means there's
still a whole bunch of customization coming up front. Right. So here, here we
have our content here. The next thing is,
how then do we modify all the things that we've asked Chat GPT to give us
to put in there? And you see you have
your text here, right? So you simply can go
in here and modify it. And in this instance,
we can just say new collection and
DM to purchase. So again, when you go
back to your chat, anything your chats told you, you can start to
customize your text here, different colors that you
want it to be, you know? But again, you see how it's
a little lost in here, so you want to make
sure it's popping out. You want to make
sure that the colors you're picking are popping out, especially if you have
a lot of busy art because people won't be able to see your calls to
action if they're not, you know? So we
have it over here. So here we go. We
have our video. We have our text, we have our art.
We have our text. And then the next thing that we would want
to definitely add, it's sort of like an Otro slide. So we have our intro here. We have the content here
and an Otro that sort of leaves the CTAs in
people's minds again. What's kind of cool is
I actually went back to the Canva AI collection
that I made and then went to the yellow flower
inspiration that it screwed up and
noticed that this was actually pretty cool,
what they had here. And I decided to use
this one as the Outro. So you just have to find, again, in creative ways, what's
going to work for you. So what did I do? So
I simply used it in Canva Editor and very
simple, what did I do? I selected everything right there by just going Control A, and then I copied
and came back to this slide and simply
pasted it in there, and it came in there. Now, as you can see,
it's doubling up because I just put it on top of it,
but that's how you can do it. You simply copy and you paste. And you have that there. And
so we had our third slide. And so now in this instance,
you have your first slide, which is the intro slide,
which is page one, you have your second
slide, which is page two. You have your third slide,
which is page three, and all edits that you want
to make can still be made. If you go to DM to purchase, as you can see here, you can make any of
those edits there. These are the same texts after you have rearranged
and created space. Now, if we go to the one we're
currently designing here, you'll see there's
still no space, but this could still work. This could be exactly
how it works. You can move your anyhow you want it because this could be a collage you can totally adjust over here,
however you want. It's totally up to
you, but it's with the quickness and you
have your template, and you're all good. So now, in this instance, again, we have our slide one,
slide two, slide three. What else remains
is us customizing it and adding audio
and adding effects, and that's what we're
going to cover next.
6. Animating & Timing Your Reel for Engagement: Welcome to the part
where we're going to talk about animating, feeling the vibe of your visual so that it captures people when it comes to timing and what they see. Because if it's just flat, you might not get
a lot out of it. What I mean flat is, let's say we were going
to play this right now, and all you saw was this, one, two, three, there's no
animation there, no vibe. And that's what's sort of very important when it comes to
reels because your audience, we are just wired to
love things flying in, jumping up, coming down, moving around, and whatnot. We don't want it flat. So how
do we first go about that? Let's go to the first slide. Now, as you can see
in the first slide, here, it's only 2.4 seconds. When you click the slide, you have the opportunity to
go to animate over here. And Animate, whatever you choose affects what
you put over here. So now we've chosen
it to breathe, as you can see, it's
breathing, right? And then when I play it for 2.4 seconds Flower collection, handcraft see, the breathing
stops around two, 4 seconds. Also, for somebody
who's watching, they don't want to wait
for 5 seconds, right? And so there's really no
perfect way to say, Hey, make it 4 seconds or 3 seconds, but you want your intro slide to really capture people boom, and then you move on to
what you want to show them. So in this instance, we've animated it with the
breathe one to come out. You can choose any other
animation that you want. Now we'll move to this
slide, so you see. Now the template
for this already had animations because
when we play it, you'll see Joy and
color to your space. That over here, one
of a kind piece is designed to bring Those
images are flying in. So there's already
animation in that template. But you might want to
animate your text, as you can see here, again, to make it look good. So as you see, Tectonic, we picked tumble for it, so it comes out there,
you know, over here, tectonic so again, you can also, and you should animate your
text so that it looks good. It pops out, it moves
with the animation, and that's how you can do it. And if you don't want
it, you could simply remove the animation,
but that's how we do it. And that goes for
here. You notice that all the texts here are also animated because
they give it a good vibe. And if you choose the right
mix, it really makes it work. There's, again, no perfect pattern to choose the right mix. You just have to look
at it and go, you know, I like this way flying in here. I like that one going there. I like this one going here. And that movement
sort of, like, sinks. Because if you have it in
different ways that don't sink, that could defeat
the whole purpose, so you want to make sure you're picking the right animations. Joy to your walls. Shop now
and bring joy to your walls. See everything is sort
of to the right there. So that's how you can do that. So by simply going
to each slide, you can make your changes, and each text you can
animate as you want. Now we're going to jump into
adding audio and effects.
7. Adding AI Voiceover + Sound Effects in Canva - Wrap Up: Let's cover adding audio to
your reels in Canva using AI. Now, what's really cool is
it's a relatively new feature, which is AI voice. So over here, all you have
to do is go in the AI voice, and as you can see, you
have Carol, Lisa, Ralph, and Richard that you can use, and you have various
languages here that you can use
for your AI voice. In your timeline,
what you generate in your text is going to be at
the bottom here for audio. As you can see, this is the audio part
here that's in blue. And to generate your text, all you have to
do is go in here. And as you can see, when
they say try an example, the text that comes up here, if you select somebody
here, you can hear. If they doubted you,
they're about to be fans. That. So how then do we go about adding our text into this spot? Well, you simply
type what you want, and then it gets added there. So I'll show you
an example here. So we'll go back to this
template that we're using here, and then we will say, so here we're going to say introducing
our new art collection. You don't want to miss this.
Make sure to message us to get the details on how to get it. We're
going to use Lisa. Our new art collection. You
don't want to miss this. Make sure to message
us to get the D. So that's the example.
We're going to just generate the voice so
she can say it all. And as you can see, it
says, generating AI voice. And as you can see,
it's generated the AI voice right here. If you play introducing
our new art collection. You don't want to miss this.
Make sure to message us to get the details on how to probably still
loading up there. But we do want it to start
at the beginning, right? Because as you noticed, it didn't start at the
beginning here. Well, how do we do
that? It's very simple. We could drag it right
to the beginning. Because as a simply where
a line mark is here, that any content that
you add here goes over. So because our bar
was right here, that's why the audio was added here. But
that's an easy fix. You could simply drag it to the beginning and
you are all good. Now, if you play it now right from here, new art collection. You don't want to miss
this. Make sure to message us to get the
details on how to get it. So there you go. We've
generated our voice, and it's there, as you can see. So that's the simple way
on how you can do it. Now, if you notice, this is halfway into
the whole reel. So you want to be
cognizant of how long your text is to make
sure that your text is long enough to capture
the real unless you're adding some other audio there,
which is very important. We'll go back to the
one I created here. As you can see, the
audio finishes right as we are in the
middle of the third slide to match the vibe. Now, in noticing that my
audio will not get to the end and still wanting to
leave a bank, what did I do? I added an effect. You'll hear it here again,
right at the end of the video. Space. Available now. Tap the Link to Shop Now and bring
joy to your walls. So that's it. How then
can you add effects? You go on audio over
here and then look for effects by simply going in
here and selecting effects. And now you can pick
anyone that you want here. Of course, these
are for P members, but you also have the free ones here that you can pick
that work for you. All you have to do is select the effect and pick
the right one. But that's how you can add audio to your reel that you're
creating in Canva. And now, as you can
see, we have our reel pretty much created with a marketing
psychology behind it. So now you can actually
follow this same step and approach for your project to create reels using
AI in the best way, both in Chat GPT or your
favorite AI tool for content creation and Canva to be able to get a
good marketing reel. And when you're done, you
could simply go to share and download over here or actually post directly
straight on Instagram. And add your captions,
and you're good. You have created a good
visual Instagram reel. I hope this was helpful,
so you could start right away your class project
using this approach.
