1. Promotional video : Hello guys and welcome
to today's class where I will show you how
to create this knife. Our efforts to do. So, we will try to keep things simple and most importantly, focus on creating
good, harmonious. Each instrument we will, we will try to make it as
perfect as possible in terms of our money so that everything
can Sounds great together. So stay tuned and
see you in class.
2. Creating The Pluck and Arp: Hello guys and welcome to this lecture where I will
show you how to make a nice atmospheric piece
of one-minute that sounds dreamy and
magical and column. So the approach we are
going to follow wants to be the same as the classical
type of music production. Because we are not
going to create basically a chord progression and then we build
everything based on it. But each pattern we will
create it will be different. But at the same time, we will try to develop the harmony between our
instruments and pattern. So without any further torque, Let's jump in and start
making this song. The first thing that we tried to create is some good
plucky chords. So I am going to use one of my favorite preset I
made in silent one, which is this one. So I am using basically
two oscillators. One of them is one
octave lower with eight voices that
play a tree sol wave. And that's got some reverb
on it and a tiny bit of distortion for
some extra texture. And we'd of course, a low-pass filter that
controls the cutoff. The most important thing
you need to do is to make sure to add this
pitch control over here. Because it's the one that gives it that plucky type of effects. So let's just create
something good. Now. Let's add a piano now and put
some mixing effects on it. So it sounds good. So as you can see, we have a sound good. I entered in a compressor to make it stand
on top of the mix. And an EQ with a boosts of the lows and
catch of the highest. And this login for river. Then another EQ, and this
plugin for stereo imaging. And finally, another sound. Good either. This combination makes our piano clean and
full and especially heavy, so it stands on top. Let's now create a
nice little melody on top of the blood
and then complete it. And now let's just automate
this knob over here. I chose this knob and
not the velocity, not because I want to
show some movement and motion that goes
alongside the blood. Explain. But at the same time, I don't want it to
be very harsh and contains some of those
energetic, high-end. Remember the song, it's meant to be column and atmospheric, not in chance. And energetic.
3. Creating The Bass line and the Melody: Hello and welcome
to this new one. We will try to add
a right percussion. Odd Jewett, a reverb to make it plays in the background of
this piece we want to create. So now it's almost
unrecognizable. And that's exactly what we want. And now we will try to
add our main baseline. What's interesting
about this technique of music conduction is Dutch. We have now the freedom to
choose the best bass notes. Dutch girls, in harmony
with our blood, and not follow the
constant base note. Because that way we will
have the same notes that repeats itself every
part of the song. Now we will try to
add a melody using one layer instruments with
a lot of reverb on it. Let's turn it. More of a plucky instruments using the modulation
knobs we have over here. Okay, so now we
can add our river. You might notice that
I didn't choose EQ in the plot because
I just wanted to be represented in the mix as the teeth without any
changes and width. It's low end, but that is not recommended in other
types of music, like e.g. EDM type of song. So let's create something good.
4. Creating the Atmosphere Sound: Hello and welcome to
this lecture where we will try to add
another element, which is some atmospheric
element to add more depth to our song and
make it sound even more great. So I would go with these presets and tried
to create something good. So far It's mixing. I'm just going to use this mixing effect that's
basically eliminate the dry signal shortly to keep only the wet reverb signal. Let's create something good. I think that this
atmospheric elements is interfering with
the other elements. Because we have the yard and the melody that's
got lots of variation. So adding this
atmospheric elements with movements as
well is disturbing. And it's hard to focus on
something precisely Dutch way. So let's just create
something extremely simple and especially with
less movement. So something like this
is fine because it's placed in a constant way. Let's try to add some
distortion to give Melody plug checked shirt and a
tiny bits of current Sheena. But the lunch alone. After every distortion effects, we need an EQ to control some of those extra frequencies
that did that. Sure. I just mentioned
a moment ago.
5. Creating The Strings and Adding Kick and VFX: Hello and welcome to this
lecture where I will try to add some strings for more
depth to our song. So I am going to use this
presetting next is try to create something good that
adds more harmony to our. I would try to add
the volume automation click to create that movement string players
do using that stick. I don't know its name, but that one they
use why play into string instruments like
the violin, fellow, etc. Now let's try to add the bass notes we
created in the piano. We'll add also a
kick just to push from time-to-time
dose very low ends. So we will go with this
one and try to find some good spots for it
alongside our song. We will add also these campaigns fire
cracking in the background. I'd put a fresh and limiter to it in the limiter
more to make it, even because some parts
are louder than others. So this way, we'd have
the same volume level. This cooked chicken or the VFX filaments to
make it interesting. And finally, we will
add an impact with a sweater that leads us to
the beginning of our song. So something like that is fine. So that's it for this class. I hope you like the results. And don't forget to
give me your feedback. And why notch proposing some ideas of class
you want to learn. A thank you, and I'll see
you in the next class.
