1. Intro: Hi, welcome to this class. My name is Pablo and
in this tutorial we're going to learn how to
convert these images produced in mid journey using a do tread substance sampler and blender into beautiful maps. I am an developer
developing as ascendance. I really know the
importance of good work, hard work, and giving
results for an ED developer. If we need to create
50 or 60 maps, we need to use AI. And of course, use our artistic skills and enhance the results of
artificial intelligence. This is an example of
a map I created using mid journey and now
the render is unreal. In this tutorial, we're going to learn how to convert an image generated in my journey
into a treaty blender, be used in cinematics
or in films. Welcome, I'm very happy
to have you here. This tutorial is for all
treaty artists, generalists, game developers, and people in the film and the video
content creation industry. So they can create beautiful
assets, maps and treaty. So they can render and they can sell more great content
and empower the narrative. Welcome to this class. I can wait to see you
inside. Thank you.
2. Intro Software we are using: In this class, we're going to use the software Mid Journey. Substance Three sampler from Adobe and Blender
that is open source. These two mid Journey and
substance are path mid journey, in my opinion is the most
powerful image generative AI that fully understands language and bounds of text
to image logic. If you know how to
communicate with the AI, you can create any
image possible. Image generation uses
natural language, props to generate
artistic images. You can describe. And the
AI understand the text. And the logic behind the construction of an
image also is evolving. They're working really hard and every new release has a
lot of improvements here. Enhancement in image
quality and versatility. The models, models work
better with literal prompts. You can also use
images for prompting, but works better by text. Although a substance
red sampler, you can transform your pictures into photuristicreD objects. We're going to use the
powered scan processing, that is image to material, removes shadows and
generates a video roughness, normal and displacement
maps for you. A Blender is a software
for Tre generalist. You can do modeling,
animation, scanning, a lot of all the
animation process, topology, and also rendering. We can get beautiful
pictures and videos using cycles or eve as rendering you can
create your portfolio. Blender is like the most
powerful open source. I will be brave
enough to say that is the industry standard for a tre generalist
engineer or artist.
3. Creating an Alien Planet in Midjourney: Okay, so we're going
to learn how to create alien planet craters. We're going to generate a prompt to generate these images. In this case we're
going to create a big hole in ancient,
for example, volcano. Want to copy our prompt? We're using a mid journey. We go to this court and then
we go to our mid journey. You need a subscription.
You're going to click imagine we're
going to past. This is a prompt alien planet. Crater hole in ancient volcano, the valleys and mountains. Ancient rivers now only deserts ocean relics of rivers
and lakes with no water. Satellite view or tonal
view is very important. There is a 90 degrees
view with heights, texture, detailed geography maps and satellite style we dream. Okay, so here we
have the result. As you see, for example, like this, All of them really, but I'm using 34, okay. We're going to play
another filter. We're going to copy this again. And the next prompt we're
going to use, for example, I think this image, we're going to paste this prom, that is alien planet crater hole in ancient volcano valleys and, and gigantic mountains and rivers now only desert,
strong erosion, relics of spiral
rivers and lakes with no satellite view
or to view texture, retailed geography
map satellite style. We're going to also
vary the output pasting the second remixing prompt and to see what are the results. To choose the most
aesthetic ones and the most beautiful maps, we can recreate them on Trev. Okay. For example in
this one, let me see. I like this one. This one is amazing. Four. Now from here I like
this one is amazing. Okay? See this one is amazing. It's like an island in the
center. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. This one is like a spiral.
Like a big hole. This is how I like this a lot. For example, let's download this opening web browser
and we're going to, okay, we're using this
image for the next pedia, for upscaling it, and next converting this
image into trev.
4. Adobe Substance 3D Sampler Creating a 3D Material from 2D Image: In this two total,
we're going to use Adobe Substance Tread Sampler. This is the software from
Adobe you can request for a free trial for 30 days or you can buy a monthly license. It transform pictures into
treat assets by two methods, image to material and
building photogrammetry. In this class we're going to
use a power scan processing, that is image to material
by removing hallows, generates albedo, roughness, normal and
displacement maps for you. We're using this I
trained model via Be that converts an
image into material. Okay. An important step is that we're going
to upscale the image. Use any upscale you want. We're only upscaling
the image two times. As you can see, we still get, let's wait until it updates, okay, but we have some
corrections, more details. It's important to have
these good maps as you see, a lot better defined. So we're going to save the image on the source folder
weekly Concept. Now we're going to
open substance three D sampler from Adobe to
create the material. We're going to create
a new material. Are we going to drag and
drop the two X image? We are selecting image
material that we're using, artificial intelligence
powered model that is trained with
a lot of examples. Now let's click on
Import and wait until the AI creates our material. This is the initial result. I think it's okay. We
will need to work here. There are some
features we can fix, we can tweak, for example. Important is the height. We can play here
with the height. Some details of this art, but I think is a good
initial approach, the details important. We have details for example
I think is a whole, we will need to apply
inverse of this height. We will need to scoop,
but you see a lot of details of erosion are
reconstructed by AI, a good initial approach. Now finally we're
going to click in Export to make sure
exporting the base color, the normal roughness,
metallic glossiness height. This is the most important
but as you can see we have other channels to we're
exporting as a PNG file. Then you will
choose your folder. I'm choosing this,
fold your own folder. We're going to
call Alien Planet. We will click on Export. With this exported, you will see in a minute that we have
all the images generated. You're going to see this is the base color reconstructed,
removing the shadows. And this is the height map. Let's wait a little
bit so they open. Okay, I see, this
is the base color and this is the
height map that is a gray scale image,
black and white. That represents the height being lower point and
the white higher point.
5. Material Images tro 3D Object in Blender: Okay, so we go to
Blender and we're going to click to Elite Up and we're going to
add plane mesh plane. We need to scale it for
at least 100 times. We're going to use our
scroll wheel to sum out. Then we're going to
go to Edit mode. If we right click, we're
going to click on Subdivide. We're going to subdivide the maximum number of
times, that is 100. We're going to go
back to object mode, then to edit mode, then again subdivide, and let's
subdivide six more times. Now let's go back
to object mode. We're going to go to
modifiers modifier. And here we're going to select
the displaced modifier. Here we're going to select,
we're going to click this How Texturing texture
tab and then open, and we're going to open the map. Comments prompts, We're going to go here.
Three, the planets and our height map created
on a double substance, three diaper or height. As you will see, the height
will be very exaggerated. Very big. We're going to
adjust the colors in a moment until it loads. Finally, we have
loaded and we're going to go back for colors, and we're going to adjust here. You can tweak the value. Remember that blender is an artistic software and
there is no correct wrong. For example, I like more
or less this height. Maybe I will decrease
it a little bit, 0.17 As you can see here we have
reconstructed this volcano. Of course, we'll need
some more sculpting. I will recommend Sea Brush for doing the job because
it's very efficient. With a powerful
machine and brush, you can do miracles. Now let's go to
Edit Preferences, and we're going
to add a texture. So we're going to check that
no granular is enabled, adds, and we search search
for angler and is enabled. If you don't have enabled, please enabled, then you
are going to go to shading. I'm here in shading, we're going to click
on New Material, click here on Principle Texture, and we're going to
click Control Shift, and we're going to search for where all these images channels and we're going to click
on Principle Texture. In a moment you will
see the changes applied to the material image. Okay, finally we
have reconstructed the material with the image. We can go back to layout. We can see here how is this
map you can play with? For example, I would
like to add a light. We make this front
there a light. As you can see, we
have all the details. I think it will be a
good practice to export this treaty object object and then sculpt to give more detail on C brush
for this tutorial. This is a good start. Please your image or video of
your treat map of imagined, powered by your imagination by using prompting engineering
and artificial intelligence.
