1. Crafting a Paper Flower: drafting a giant paper flower. This'll class consists of two parts. First, I will show you how to design and make a template in Illustrator. If you don't eat this part, you can skip to the second part in which you can learn how to craft a paper flower. Making a paper flower is really fun and easy. You can make as a kid use as a nursery decor and events such as baby showers, bridal showers and even weddings. As a class project, please make one giant paper flower and posted in students Project section so it will helpful other people's inside about this craft. You can make your own complaint or you can use my can play as a gift to you. I included the template I made in this craft so that you can jump start. If you have any comments or questions, please use class board section. Let's get started 2. Petal Design in Illustrator: first Open illustrator and this is 8.5 by 11 regular US paper. And this is just a photograph of my sketch. And today I'm going to make this better. First, I'm gonna start with the shape that's closest to design I choose to make. So in this case, I start with jungle. You probably have a basic knowledge of illustrator in Hell pen tools work. So I'm know, going over each step, how I made it my design. Basically, you move points around at points until you satisfied your shape. One thing is that I only work on one side up the paddle. When I'm satisfied with one side of the design. I cut out the other side using Pathfinder, then using clip to copy good design to the other side, then select both and using part fine again. Teoh Union 5/4 Shapes. That way you have left side and right side, same design, then use mental and click of some of the extra points to clean out 3. Make a Set: Okay. This is how you can make multiple sizes from this one. Pedal selective Peto scale Double quick and uniformed. 85% and copy. After that. Command Ik Mandy Mandy. Now you have five different meadows. I'm going to select all. Make it up one point, then into the bottom. There. Now I'm going to refine those pedals first. I don't like those two sides. This is look kind of similar inside. I want this one to be the little smaller, this one also smaller. But that and then for the printing purposes, I'm gonna separate those photos in the different pages. First, make art board border needs about three pages. Dance for those five pages. It's about right. So you have to think about the printer safe area. So I'm gonna look to the center as much as I can. Each printer has different settings and then another aboard make picks a gun. So this hexagon will be the baseball, But those meadows together, So I want about the same same size. What this end about, right? They're so sometimes extra one sometimes use for certain one 4. Layout Tip: Okay, Basically, your template is done, but one more things to consider. This is a template. And first you prentice out in a bigger cod stock, and then you cut it and use to draw those Beddoes on other card stock papers. And when you do that, you don't want to waste a lot of papers. I lay out this way so that it won't cut. But once you have this template, you can go to the edge of the papers. Teoh draw those patterns. So in order to do that, I want to see how those photos lay on the paper. You can actually go all the way to the edge and you wanna get those photos. So when you make of different design photos, those are the good things to consider, because when you start drawing those patterns, Teoh the papers and then it won't fit in. A lot of piece of paper's going to waste you. I kind of feel bad and, oh, you know, just a little edge smaller, it will fit. Then you can adjust it here and you can make it flowers in a little bit economic way 5. Print, Draw and Cut: now I printed my template in card stock paper. Those are the tools you need. A mechanical pencil, eraser, scissors, glue, gun ruler and cut stuck papers using the templates. Job shadows on the papers of your choice. I am using card stock here. You will need six photos. Each side's next cut out each pedal. This is a kind of paper I use. You can save your templates and you can use many times I put in a pocket file and I just got the binder So here's how I save my templates. 6. Center Piece: here, cut potatoes. You will need six Beddoes for each side's for this flower. But once you get used to making paper flowers, you can arrange the way you like. Some hexagons so goes and just strip of paper for the center. This is how you get make centerpiece with the strip first, fold it in half, then cut skinny lines. Leave about quarter inch attached. Make another one without folding. The paper still was the one. Fold it. Roll up from the edge. Use hot goo as you go Theun at another layer. After glue is dry, open up like a flower center. 7. Put Together: in this section, I will show you how to assemble flower before gluing Beddoes. First thing you need to do is curling pedals. You will need something like round edge pencil. Now there are more than one way to do this so you can try a different way and see what you like. E think I'm gonna decide curling outside for this class. Start with bigger petreaus. First work on 1st 2 years. Next, cut a slit on the bottom of the photos. This will make photos look three dimensional when you're ready. But hot glue over up this park and glued together and repeat this process now using hexagon as a base, glue each pedal in each side Now just Beddoes first. Here's a circle piece in between. Guru, second layer of Petros alternate the position I normally work. Medal to smaller pet does separately. So that's the flower Has even look when you glue the centerpiece first, lightly place it, rotate the flower so that you can see it's really center or not. Then secure the petition. If you make a bigger base and put more pedals, you can even make larger size flower. This one with basic six photos is about roughly 18 inches across now the last part attaching metal piece to that outdoor layer of the flower. Check where you want it first, then put hot glue lightly. Place it, take the balance by rotating the flower. Then secure the glue. They were done. Congratulations. 8. Final Thought : last Not. I used three m Velcro for attaching a flower student wall. It's easy, messy, free, and you can change things around. I hope you enjoyed. Thank you for watching and through the next time I
