1. Introduction to the course !: Hello everyone. You're welcome to my course
on confidence-building. Well, let me ask you
certain questions. You don't know how
to talk to people. You find it difficult to deal
with difficult situations. You'd like to be alone
rather than in groups. You do not know how to talk
to someone over the phone. You lack confidence. Now, the problem you're
facing is about confidence. You have no more excuse because you have reached
the right place. In this course, you are
going to learn how to build confidence with me over a decade of experience and
soft skills and training. I will teach you how
to develop confidence. In this course, you're
going to become a paraprofessional full of
confidence and positivity, which will help
you to get a job. This course is for students, professionals, and
learners as well. This course you're
going to learn the basics of confidence. What are the characteristics
of a confident person? How you can develop confidence, and how you can improve
your overall personality by improving on your skills. So can you pass the test? Let's start to learn
confidence building skills. It's time to grow in

2. What is Confidence ?: What is confidence? Have you ever
failed? But there is something more to
what you do in life. It's not the achievement, but the feeling behind
the achievement. It's not what you
have gotten life, but how you have received
what you have today. And what does that
feeling convey? That feeling is confidence. Confidence is your ability to
think good about yourself. To feel assured about yourself. You know that you can do it. This feeling is
called confidence. And confidence is
the key to success. No matter which
field you work in, no matter which phase
of life you are into. If you do not have confidence, you won't be able
to stand straight. You won't be able to
achieve your goals in life. You won't be able to
do what you want. And lay confidence is
the key to success. And that's where your ability to build the confidence
comes into picture. How you feel about
yourself, your abilities. It is about not feeling
superior to others, but feeling fulfilled.
From within. You are confident
about your knowledge. You're confident
about your skills. You're confident
about your attitude. And to get confidence, you need lots of practice. You need to gain knowledge, you need to gain experience. You need to learn skills. Only then you'll get confidence. Confidence is backed
by an achievement. Confidence is
backed by hardwork. Confidence is backed by
sense of achievement. So anything which you do in
life will give you confidence if you do it with your complete
commitment and hard work. So if I put in lot of
efforts and my exam, I'm confident that I
will clear the exam. But if I'd not work, if
I don't prepare well, will I be confident
to clear the exam? No. Similarly, if I worked in an organization for
three to four years, will I be more confident to appear for the next interview? Yes. Why? Because I have a work experience
of three to four years, which has given
me the confidence to answer those questions, which will be asked to
the next interview. Will a new person was appearing
for the first interview? Be more confident?
The person who has already got a great amount
of work experience. Obviously, the person who has worked somewhere will
be more confident. But does that mean a
fresher who is just starting his job will
have less confidence. Again, it depends. It depends upon the person. As an individual,
you need to start somewhere or the other end life. And for a fresher to
get his first job, the confidence comes
from his knowledge, from his skills,
from his achievement in terms of scoring marks and
his graduation school days. The confidence comes from
working on various projects. So it's not about the situation
where you are in life. Whether you're experienced
or inexperienced, confidence only will give you
the push to move forward. Confidence will be backed by something which you have
already done in life. And that's why it's
very important to understand that
confidence is the key. That can never be
success in life. If you're not confident
about yourself. The people who are big and life, they get confidence
with practice. They get confidence
with regular hard work. Each and every
small effort which you take every day is going to compound and make you
more confident person. If today you don't know
how to speak English. And if you start practicing English speaking every day
for five to ten minutes, after one month or two months, you will see a drastic change
and the confidence level, you will start to speak
in front of people. Why? Because you have been practicing speaking skills for the
last two to three months. Every day, your efforts have compounded and that has
increased your confidence. Why do children or why do students don't clear
competitive exams? Why? Because they do not practice. They just learn,
understand things, get the concepts right, but they don't practice. Competitive exam is
all about practice. And unless until you
practice every day you won't get the confidence
to clear the exam. So no matter where
you go, what you do, everything comes down to the last aspect,
which is confidence. If you're not
confident, you won't be able to speak your heart out. The people who are
shy, the people who do not know how to deal
with things around. They are not confident. If you want to do big in life, just get that confidence,
work on yourself.
3. What are different types of Persons ?: Let's quickly talk
about a person who is insecure and
less confident. Now this kind of person
will be very judgmental. He form opinion about any and every person will always have a negative view
about that person. He'll always find the
negative, the flaws, and the person who will never
take a positive decision, it will never take
a positive view, will always form an
opinion about any person, whether the person
has good or bad. It'll be a closed minded
person. He'll be a pessimist. Even if you give him something
good, you will find fault. And that why you have given me this thing,
I don't deserve it. This kind of person is
pessimist and Lafe. He does not see positive
ray of hope and enslave. This kind of person will
always be happy where he is. He would never want
to grow in life. He will never want to get
out of his comfort zone. You will always make excuses. He will try as if he knows everything and he doesn't
want to learn anything, he will never make
a decision and you always hide his four floors. What are the benefits
of self-confidence? The more confidence you have, the better performance
you will do in your life. Will perform good in your
school, your college, or your company,
your organization, you'll be able to
achieve targets. Why? Because you're confident
about your abilities, on your skills and
your knowledge. You will build healthier
relationship. Why? Because you feel
good from within, in once you feel
good about yourself, you will try to build
positive relationships. So any person who will
be in relationship with you will be happy. You will be open to
trying new things because you're not afraid
of taking new challenges. You're open to new challenges. You know that if I
get a new challenge, it'll be an opportunity
for me to grow. You take it as a learning, you take it as an
experience, not as a threat. You are, you will be resilient. No matter how bad things become. You will stand up and
you will walk again. You will face the most difficult of
circumstances in life, but you will still stand up and walk the straight
path towards success. You will be resilient. You will grow in your life.
4. What factors determine Confidence ?: What are the factors that determine your
confidence level? Well, the most
important factor is the people around you
do the push you down. Pull you down. I
should use that work. And they never push
you to go forward. If you want to do
something good, they will bring
out the negatives. They will tell you
that you cannot do it. You should not do it. You cannot do it. There will always be there
to drag you down. They'll always be there to
pinpoint the negatives. Should you be with
these kind of people? Know? You should always be with people who constantly
motivate you, who constantly make
you a better person, who push you to go
forward in life. Never be friends
with someone who is a source of conflict. Who is not motivating you, but the motivating you. A friend who's
pulling you down to criticize and to bring your
negative is a good point. But to constantly
bring your negatives every time you'd
want to do something good is about frame. And you need to know who's your good friend and bad frame. And accordingly, you need to get all these toxic people
out from your life. If you want to be a
confident person, if you want to achieve
success in life, get out all the toxic
people from your life. Just disassociate from
yourself from them. It's not that you
won't talk to them, but try to just be
far away from them. Don't be friends with
people who you think are toxic in your life because they will not let
you move forward in life. There will be people who will
be constantly judging you. There'll be people who will influence your thoughts and attitudes in a negative manner. So you need to pay attention
to how others make you feel. How your friends or your
family members make you feel. Do they make you feel good or
do they make you feel bad? Do they pull you down or
do the pushing forward? This is what you
need to identify. And once you start
identifying it, you will slowly realize who are the people
who want you to be better in life and
always be tried to, always try to be friends with people who have similar
thought process. We want to do
something big in life. We want to improve themselves. These are the people who
should be your fence disassociated with people
who have negative mindset, who are pessimists, who will always talk
about negative first, and they will never think about any positive aspect of life. These are going to
suck your energy. This will make, these people
will make your life edible. So as opposed to a
person who wants to do good things in life
achieved begun life, you need to surround yourself
with positive people. That's very, very important. Also, another aspect of
developing and building more confidence in your
life is of your body. Taking care of your
physical health. The way you look at
yourself in the mirror. And if you feel that
you have a great body, you are in great shape, that itself will boost
your confidence 100 times. How do you take
care of your body? Have a healthy diet, to
meditation, to exercise, daily. Sleep for at least
eight hours minimum. The more you take
care of your body, the more confidence you will
gain over a period of time. So once you look in
the mirror and you see yourself perfectly fit, having given positive energy, your skin as blooming, your hairs are properly grown. Your physical
attributes are fine. You're not fat, you're not lazy. You have a healthy lifestyle, you feel energetic, you fail to do something good every day. This kind of feeling
will only be there once your body is fit. So you need to have a good diet. Good vegetables,
fruits, balanced date. Also, you need to
eat healthy food. Not grab all the crap which is available in the
market and types of informal fast
food burger pieces. While you do have to indulge someday because you feel
like having those things. But that can be
occasionally once a month or maybe
once in 15 days, but not every day. Similarly, piece
of mine also plays a very important role in increasing your
confidence level. More calm you are from within, from your mind, the better level of confidence you will have. So it's good that you
meditate every day, 15 to 30 minutes. Just sit and concentrate
on your breath. Just feel how the air is
going inside your lungs, in how it is coming
out of your nose. This expedience, the movement of air within and going out. This feeling itself
will calm you. This feeling itself will
disassociate from the world. Doesn't mean take out all the negative
vibes from your body, from your mind and will
make you a positive person. The more positive you are, the more confident
you will become. Always have some
form of exercise. And exercise is not only
about going to gym, you can play sports, you can play cricket, badminton, tennis, do running, jogging, walking, anything, just include one physical activity each day. It could be 102030
minutes. Why not? And never skip on your sleep. Make sure you have a
healthy sleep cycle of at least six hours is minimum. And eat us something
which is really great. The more your mind is relaxed, the better you'll
be able to perform, the more confident
you'll become.
5. What is Confidence Building Process ?: How many times I've seen people being too harsh on themselves. The date failure as
a stepping stone. Not to success, but to fail even more. But that's not true. You fail, you learn, you become better,
you gain experience. The next time when
you move forward, you will not repeat
that mistake. So that has improved yourself. You have improved yourself. Your confidence level
should increase. So you need to be
kind to yourself. If you make a mistake,
don't feel bag. Take it as a learning. Move forward. There will be setbacks in life. No person in the slave
has moved forward. And a constant straight line, there will be ups
and downs in life. You will have good
days and bad days. You need to be flexible. And your emotional
understanding. You need to understand
that things will go wrong. You will not be praised every time you do good
work or bad work. There will be days
when your good work can turn into bad work. And this is something
which you should be ready. You need to challenge
the negative emotions. You need to accept
that not every day, you will have good days, not every day you will have positive thoughts in your mind. You might feel bad, you
might feel negative, you might feel sad also. But that's perfectly fine. We are human beings. We will have mixed emotions. But you need to get
out of that emotion. You need to work
on your mindset. You need to develop
a positive mindset. There will be negative
things in life, but you have to
emerge as a winner. You need to take
it as a learning. You need to make it as a
stepping stone for success. Every failure is
a stepping stone. You step on that
failure and move forward towards success in life. So be kind to yourself, Do not be harsh to yourself. Now another way to
develop self-confidence is to constantly talk to
yourself in a positive way. In other words, it's called
positive affirmation. Say every time if I wake up in the morning and look
in the mirror and say to myself that I am
the best I can do it. I can improve myself. I can upon myself, I can make my body
better. I look good. I am the smartest
person in this world. Most hardworking person. I am very good at doing things. So you're doing this positive
self-talk with yourself, with your enter conscious. And this itself will build
the confidence by the New. You will start
realizing that once you practice positive
affirmations every day, in the morning, evening, all throughout the day, the
confidence level increases. You feel good about yourself. You feel more confident, right? So whenever you get the opportunity, have
positive self-talk. Just write down certain
positive self affirmations and repeat it every
day in the morning. I can do it. I'm the best. I can improve myself. I love myself. I'm the best. These are the things which
you need to talk to yourself. These are the things which you
need to speak to yourself. These are the things
which will go in your subconscious
mind slowly and slowly without even realizing. Throughout the day these
positive self affirmations. We'll make you work towards your goals and achieve
success in life. We need to face your fears. If I'm not good at something, I need to become good at it. I will work on my fear. If I'm not good at writing, I will join a writing course. I will learn what are
the nuances of writing? Well, how do I frame a sentence? What are the things which I should remove from a sentence? How do I write? What are different forms
of articles, phrases? How can I improve
my writing skills? I will practice writing every day and write
one paragraph, one blog each day over
a period of time. But consistent practice by
writing skills will improve. This will give me confidence. You need to face your fears. If you're not good at something, make yourself good at it. Work on your weakness. Work on your fears. Get out all the
self-doubt you have. Improve your performance. Confidence people, the people
who are confident in life, they will always celebrate
other people's success. There'll be open-minded,
they'll think positively and there'll
be willing to take risks. They will also admit
their own mistakes. They'll always be learning
and growing tickets, decisive decisions, and there'll be able to
laugh on themselves. This is very important
to understand. I've seen people,
they feel sad when someone is achieving success in their life. Why
do you feel that? If the person has
done something good, if the person has
achieved success, it's because of his hard work. You don't need to
feel sad about it. You need to feel good about it. That is what your
personality should be. Once you start feeling
good about others, what others are
achieving in life, you will slowly realize that your confidence
level is increasing. You are not becoming
a negative person, but you are becoming
a positive person and that itself will increase
your confidence level. You are an open-minded person. You accept all that, that comes your way. If something is not
going your way, if someone is saying
negative things to you, if someone is criticizing,
condemning, and complaining, you accept that as a feedback. You are open-minded. You think positively. You're willing to take risks. If you make a mistake,
you are there. You can stand for yourself
and say that, yes, I made a mistake
and I accepted I apologize it I regret
making that mistake. And I assured that I will
not make that mistake again. This is how you improve. This is how you become
more confident.
6. How to become more Confident ?: Now how do you become
more confident? Now, this is a question
which many students ask. How do I become confident? How do I increase my
confidence level? Well, first you need to
change your mindset. Confidence is not
something which you will get any day or at
any point of time. Confidence will require
you to work first. Confidence will
require hard work. Patients, commitment,
dedication. Your mindset of working
upon your skills, of improving yourself every day, even by just one per cent
of improvement every day, will compound you to
make you as a person 33 times In a year. Just imagine what
you have today. Within a year, if you improve yourself just one
per cent every day, you will be improving
yourself 33 times in a year, in 365 days. That is astonishing.
So what I am today, if I don't myself, 33 times better at
the end of this year, only by just improving myself every day for
just one per cent. How good is that? And that can only happen with my mindset when I start
to believe in myself, when I feel that I can do this. You need to challenge yourself. You need to get out
of your comfort zone. Many people feel
happy where they are. They don't want any change. They want the same life. They want the same
money to come there in their salary account
every month. They would not put in
efforts to learn new skills. They will happy, there'll be
happy to be where they are. They will not learn
anything new. Why? Because they are happy doing what they have
been doing since passed. They do not want
to grow in life. They do not give
themselves challenge. And this is where
you feel stuck. This is where you
lose your confidence. So if you want to be
confident person, you need to challenge yourself every day to do something new, to learn something new, to do something better, to improve your performance. Never compare yourself. A person who might be wanting in millions might have spent many years doing the hard
work to get to that level. But we as youngsters, try to compare ourselves
with that person. Why? Because we just see the success. We see the big Lamborghini, we just see a big bungalow. We don't see the
amount of hardware, the number of years
that person has put in. So be kind to yourself. Never compare yourself
to any person. You do not know how much hard
work, how much commitment. A number of years that person has worked to reach
to that level. It's foolish to
compare yourself, rather compare yourself
with your own self. Just see what you have
achieved from yesterday. Whether you have improved
one per cent of what you were to yesterday, right? Are you making an improvement? Compare yourself
with your identity, what it was yesterday, right? That is how you will increase
your confidence level. Do not compare
yourself with others. Compare your own self. Always know about
your strengths. As we have already spoken about this concept which is called
emotional intelligence, where your ability to
understand your own emotions, your own self, plays a very important role
in your success. You need to understand your
strengths, your weaknesses, your opportunities,
your strength. You need to find the
areas of improvement. You need to know that
you are good at this, but you need to improve
on this aspect of life. I am a good communicator, but I may not be
confident to speak in front of people. So
what do I need to do? I need to practice speaking
in front of people. I need to be good
in public speaking. I'll do public speaking courses. I'll speak every day in
front of people, or even in, even in front of a mobile
phone and record myself a five-minutes every day so that my confidence level increases. This is how I will
improve myself. This is how I will
remove the self-doubt. This is where I will
become a better speaker. Today. I know that I'm not
good at public speaking, but over the period
of time I'll work on myself and improve myself. And I'll take that self-doubt
from myself, right? I'll do my homework, I work on my weaknesses. I'll always be ready
to take risk and life. Because unless and
until you take, take risk, you would not
know your potential. If I'm doing the same
thing every day, the same thing again and again, will I be able to
realize my potential? What more I can do? There have been many
studies in the past where people used to just
giving an example. Who shouldn't bold? You might
have heard the runner who has won several
Olympic gold medal sees the world champion. Well unless and until he first achieved the a 100
meter race competition, there was no other player
who had broken that record. But once that record was
broken off a 100 meter race, he himself broke that
record nine times. So till time you have that
restriction in your mind, till the time you know that
this cannot be broken, that will not be broken. It is how you see that boundary, that restriction that restrict you from moving forward in life. So you need to be the real, you, you need to question yourself. What is you? Who are you, and what you can do to
become better person? And this is how over a
period of time slowly, you'll increase your confidence. You need to have the
ability to take risks. You need to know about yourself. Do not compare
yourself with anybody. Build a confident mindset. Challenge yourself every
day to something new. Improve yourself at least
one per cent every day, you will see a drastic
change in your life.
