1. Introduction: My name is looking on a bench paper artist. I create Kalash art from my studio here in Denmark. And on this course, which is the Kalash course for beginners. I will show you how to make Pilar's using exactly what you have in your house. You do not have to leave the house to do this you bring See, They're just name sensors, glue paper. And I've been doing workshops, life workshops here in my studio in Denmark for years. And now we're doing it online. Some of the largest that you will learn to make. This course could be something like this. I usually use off the female figure in the dark. My artwork. Um here's another ism. That's as I said, this would be done with using what you have in your home so less get set. Let's go. And I hope hope. Hope you enjoy the class 2. What is Collage: Thank you so much for joining me on this workshop where I will teach you all about how to make collage art with just using watching half in your home already. So this is the class workshop for beginners. The easy way to start making slash Mars actually began in the 19 twenties with the Caso and Braque. They started putting things together. And this is where this old collage art came. Home movement started back then. So about 100 years ago, it's very, very interesting to work with old paper. I've always worked recycled materials both as an interior designer and in many different our jobs that I've had. I find it extremely fascinating creating these little little university worlds. You sing just what you have, what you find it is possible to do large is on campus on a duties in small scale and large scale thesis or just an example on this or not the ones that would be doing in this workshop. I just want to show you sample of what could be done with paper. Also do these small ones that goes in vintage frames. This is a flower that abused as a hand on this beautiful lady on This is a bit more of what we're doing today and a four use of card or paper and corrects for magazines and books. Here's another example. This is just, uh, Tarsem paper from an old notebook Lady Bird and some splashes of paint here is cut out from a book which is a known typewriter on ladies and some bridge things. I do use paint quite a lot because I think you can just lifts it a little bit. I also sometimes use the sewing machine. That's the word. And I have stepped on this one here as well on the last one here that I want to show you. I have many more in my Web shop on Mount that DK so feel free to check them out. But these are the examples that I won't show you. This is an old sewing pattern again, some paint lady and head of the birds. It is super easy to dio on. I'm gonna take you through it so that you can do this. Workshops project and handed in will discuss it. I'll give you good feedback on it. I personally have a large collection of vintage paper here in my workshop. But you do not need to have that in order to make something nice for your home or for friends and family forgets from whatever I would be, yes, taking you through the whole process. 3. Materials : so get started making your Kalash. You need to have some materials on the material cities used paper, scissors and glue easy, and I'm sure you have it in your home. The sisters I use are kind of small, very good at little delicate details. But any old sisters will do. It's not they're not as long as they're sharp and then a glue stick and some paper on. Obviously, Younis. You always need some sort of background paper, and I have this piece of card. It's just like cardboard thing after all. Paper at the DP Call it. That's gonna be my background, but you can use anything you like and the other kinds of paper half our thesis ones. But I have found OH, magazines. There is bathroom and bathroom side years from 1992. Very interesting things. When you look into these, Mike seems that's something that you will notice when you do a large and using old magazines, you often get caught up in reading them. I also have another thing. Mishmash theses, fashion thing. I have another in Syria magazine from the eighties, full of different things that don't depends on what kind of look you want? Of course. If you take a vintage magazine from the forties, you have different glass in the paper, different colors. It's ever so You need to be aware of your final result. What, what you want to to have one of seeking with your With Josh. Then I have another old magazine. This is actually with Maryland. One workman, Marilyn Monroe visiting the famous Danish author Karen Blixen. So this is from 1959. It's not always that sometimes a bit sad to cardinal magazines, but they go and I also have this one American America sings community songbook. I don't know how this ended up with me here in Denmark. First, it's got all these different notes. That s I think it's really, really cute. So I'm gonna be using a couple of pages of that one. And also I have a notebook. Tom's got quite thick edges, and I'm sure you know, in your house that you can use on. I also have a few corrupts, some flowers and little tree found in a vaccine. And now I I want to get started on making this Kalash Andi, I hope you will enjoy following the process 4. Making a Collage: So I have been looking in my own magazines on I have made on idea in my head of what I once create, as I have found, and this one here comes can tear it out. And I will cutting this piece out so that it could be a part of Michael Bosch. Do you find this picture of Marilyn Monroe? Quite cool, but I'm never used this one on the front. H I have found one inside. Those who do not speak Danish actually is called sex foam, which sure, it's correct. So I was going to be putting her and making her a piece of my collage. I already have the curtain, and she's gonna be a part of it, too. And I'm just putting her find out here and all the little details. Now, when I make these collages, I sort of have division in my head. Um, but this one is going to have the curtain over here, and she will be here, and then I would be using some of the other paper. I have to help yourself get a clearer idea of how it's gonna be. You kind of just sketch it up on old piece of paper. Now, I'm not a great artist when it comes to drawing, but here she is. And then I think I shall have some of these cycles that I've cut out from the book that would be down here somehow in her hands. I have chosen for her to have this one and then up here they'll be the flowers. This is just to give me an indication of how it could be. So why making this little sketch, which absolutely only makes sense to me, Hopefully to you. But when you have the artistic process, it can be useful to do this for the project so that you know what to do. And so now I have the curtain which I am going to for a tip. Little is to find a vaccine that you do not use or no newspaper. And then you use that to blue on. Then you don't have to get Lulu with people and everything else. So I make sure there's a good layer of blue on it. I'm a stick it in down and then I make sure it's sticks may as well using it a lot. Then I fold the paper over so that I have. And you, the paper she blew the next day. So now I've put her on here. And then I have these pieces of book that I have a cut out juicing a piece of glass, but a piece of glass, a glass, they So she's going to be sitting on this little chair. I need a paper now. I do have a plan to use one of these beautiful pages, but I'm not too sure. Old folks go home. Old folks at home. Let's take this one. So I have this one. I'm just gonna leave it here on the side and see how it goes in her hands. She is going to have this one and that little bits. She would be holding this going down this, I turned over the page again so that I make sure I don't get any flu on the front side of the paper. Get so it's very missing. Uh huh. And I have made sure not to put her hand down totally firmly yet. I knew I was going to put something underneath. This is this where little Scott life could be to stick in there. We don't now. That's what I wanted to be. So it's like the look of stuff and just stab it on. It's looking good. Now, if you remember the future beautiful drawing I did before what was going to go aware this was about the tough. I was going to put flowers and I'm sinking right about there. I do want to you some of the particles, not purple. That's so I think because it matches really well with curtain over here. So I'm gonna do that. See that part? That would be just to blend. In my opinion, I won't be using these funds. So we go here almost done. Guys, this is just to show how easy iss to do these kind of things. If you just have to materials and you have kind of a plan, I'm thinking that would be where it would go. It first needs of this leave to be cut off. Whatever sticking asked that it's no problem. You see, like this, how satisfying. And I would say she is, she's pretty much done. There would be, however, one little thing missing. I do have some old now on ish, and I am sure you do too, Orson. Not old. What? That would actually quite cool. That's green up here. It's a showed you early and some of my clients I use eight where just finished up with water. But this is even better. Just treat us there. And your little one. That's it, guys. That is it. Marilyn Monroe sitting here for the pantry in her hand. I loved in the chair with the curtain on the flowers and assume this diese dry. I would put the hunter big, thick book that would make sure that it's six. So they have it. That's how you make collages using materials you have in your home already. And this is a lovely lady. Oh, finished and ready to go up on the walls, sort. You know, it's frame a collage with makes sense because it's just even. It lifts anything you put in a frame, it just looks a 1,000,000 times better. So you see, you took 5. The Final Result: Marilyn Monroe is now in a frame and she is sitting on this dresser in my somewhere has in the northern part of Denmark on This is what I mean about when things get into put into a frame, they're just lifted up. And she is nicely complemented by a little candle on some flowers, and all is well, so that's just to show you what it does when you get the frame. 6. The Project: So the project for this collage workshop is to create one Kalash using only what you have in your home. So that's clue Sisters. On paper, you need a a four piece of paper and you need some old paper. It could be from a book from old magazines. New my scenes. Whatever you have, it might be an old postcard that you also have an old photograph. It could be anything. But I would like you for the project for this class to do a collage using only what you have in your home. And please do remember to give it a title. So what do you need to do? Uh, find your materials. Get cracking. Please share the project. Andi, I will be delighted to see them. I'm comin on them and I hope that you have a fantastic process. I love making large using old paper. And I do hope that you will enjoy it too. Have a pretty
