1. Introduction : Hello, everyone. My name is Damini and today we are going to learn how to create this beautiful Christmas winter season painting. In this course, you will learn to paint the background to painting the house with a wooden effect, to painting the lights. We will also see how to make smoke coming out from chimney, snow clad trees and roof, snow covered floor, and Christmas lights hanging up on the tree. You will have a lot of fun exploring various techniques and effects. In this painting, I have explained a lot of different textures to you. I invite you to join me for the class. It's a bigners friendly course, and there's no experience required to make this beautiful painting. I look forward to seeing you in the class. 2. Materials : Hello, everyone. My name is Damini and today we are going to be learning acrylic painting on canvas. Now, this is a very easy, bit nurse friendly painting which anyone of you can make. You do not need to have any prior experience in painting or drawing to make this painting. So let's get started. Now let's see which all materials are required to make this painting. The first thing that you will require is the canvas. This is the canvas. The second thing that you would require is the colors. So we would require dark green colour, dark blue colour, Brown color, yellow color. White color. And orange colour. You do not need so much quantity. You can just do fine with a little then we would require a few brushes. So these are the brushes. One is the broad brush, which is a flat brush. Then we would require a round brush. This is a round brush. Then I would need a small brush, which has a small tip. This is to make things which require detailing. So we need a brush which is quite thin and pointed. Okay. Alongside, we would also require a pencil, a few tissue papers, or a cloth, whatever you prefer, then a plate and some water. So these are the materials that we require. 3. Sketch: Hello, everyone. In this class, we will see how to sketch outline for our painting. So we are going to draw a line which would be a little lower than the half part of the canvas. So you can split the canvas into three parts, and after leaving two parts on the upper side, one third would be on the lower side. Then we are going to make a house. So it's going to be a triangle first, and then two straight lines at the base of the triangle. Then we are going to make two adjacent lines to make the roof of the house. So these are the steps. And then we are going to make a line which is falling from the roof to the ground. So that way we have made a house. So these are basically triangles and rectangles. Then we are going to make windows. So here I'm making two rectangles on the front side of the house and one window inside the triangle, then two more windows on the side wall of the house. So the windows on the side would be a little slanted. And then we are making a chimney at the top. So we are making straight lines, one straight line, then one line a little longer, and the third line a little upwards. And then we are going to join them all. 4. Painting the Sky : Welcome to the class. In this class, we are going to see how to paint the sky. So first, I'm taking some dark blue color on the palette. And then I'm going to take some white color. And now, taking the flat brush, I'll dip the brush in water and mix the paint. I'm making the density a little thinner, and I will apply the brush strokes. So these are horizontal brush strokes. Taking some more paint on the brush. So I'm making sure that the edges, the sides, the corners, everything is covered. And then carefully sketching the outline of the house with the paint so that we don't spill the paint inside of the house. Mixing some white to the blue and making a shade a little lighter and moving downwards. The strokes would be same horizontal strokes with the flat brush. So I'm painting the sky up till the skyline. So you can see the colors from dark blue to a little shade lighter from top to bottom, and that is how we have painted the sky. 5. Painting the Ground : Hello, everyone. In this class, we are going to see how to paint the ground. Taking the blue color first, adding a bit of white, we are going to start from the bottom and slowly move upwards. So it's going to be horizontal strokes. We make sure we cover the edges, we cover all the spots and do not leave the canvas empty at any point. Then we're going to mix some white and move upwards. Slowly, it's going to be transition from dark blue to lighter shade of blue. Adding some more white. So as we go upwards, we are going to add more white to the blue, so the shade becomes lighter and lighter. So here I'm applying white colour directly on the canvas because I already have some blue on my brush. So apply slow, gentle smooth strokes. And I'm just covering all the space that I can see. So here now we have created a transition from the lower bottom, which is blue, moving upward slowly, making sky color, and then adding some more white and making it even lighter. Now I'll just clean the brush, dip the brush in water, and then clean it with the tissue paper. So on the ground, we went from dark blue to light blue. So it's a transition, as you can see, and on the sky, we went from dark to light from top to bottom. 6. Painting the House: Welcome to the class. In this class, we are going to see how to paint the house. So I just took some brown color on the palette, and then I started painting the roof of the house with just white color. So I've taken some white on my brush, and I'm applying slanted strokes just in the direction of the roof. Then I'm going to dip the brush and water, clean the brush, and I will start painting the walls of the house. So I've taken brown color. And with the middle sized brush, applying vertical and horizontal both strokes. So wherever you feel that you need to apply vertical strokes, apply vertical strokes there. If you feel the need to have horizontal strokes, depending upon the shape there, you can switch back and forth. So I'm leaving some gap for the windows and painting the rest of the wall with a brown color. So I'm adding some water in between just to keep the paint in the proper density and moving towards the front wall the same color again, brown color. And again, horizontal and vertical strokes together with the middle size brush and leaving space for two windows there. This way, we have painted the front and the side of the house. Now moving towards the upper side. So here we paint this triangle again with the brown color. So it's a wooden house. Hence, we are painting it with the brown color. Now we are going to apply some wooden texture over this brown color. So I'm taking some white along with brown color and making it kind of cream color. And with a small size brush, I am giving vertical strokes. Just making lines. I'm not blending color here. I'm just making straight lines. So this gives a wooden effect. We first painted the background with the brown, and on top, we are applying light brown colored vertical strokes. So just adding some white to brown with a thin, fine brush. So this is not middle size brush nor it's flat brush. It's very pointed thin brush. And now for the triangle, we are applying horizontal brush lines with the same color again. So we can make out it's looking like wood already and adding some finishing touches here and there. Now, painting the chimney, we are going to use two colors light brown and dark brown. Light brown is going to come in the front part. And the shadow falls on the back side, so that part would be a little darker than this one. So we are painting the back part now, which gets the shadow. And I'm making the outline so that the chimney the shape of the chimney becomes clear. So that's the chimney. Now, each time you clean the brush, make sure you also wipe it with the cloth because otherwise the paint would still be stuck on the brush. Now for the roof, we have already painted one side of the roof with a white color. Now we are just making the shape so that it looks like, you know, the roof is on both sides. So we have just made an outline outside of the triangle, just on the two upper side so that it looks like the roof is on both sides. So the other side is also roof, but it just a line that is visible from the front. And now we are making the shadows which fall beneath the roof. So it's dark brown color. I have added blue with some brown to make dark brown, like a chocolate color. And I'm painting it just beneath the roof and also making the outlines from it, the main outlines. So that's how we have painted the house. 7. Painting the Tree : Hello, everyone. In this class, we are going to paint the tree. So I've taken some brown color on the small brush and I'm making a long line vertical line, which is a trunk of the tree. So I'll branch the line out. So we just have to take branches out from the trunk. Many branches coming out and then further make branches from branches. So I'm taking brown color, and I'm making the branches a bit more thicker. The trunk remains at the center, and from that trunk, we are going to take out the branches. I'm taking some orange color and yellow color for the lights inside of the house. That's the light that we see inside the windows. So I've taken orange color with a small brush, and I'm going to apply orange color in half part of the window. So the upper half is going to be orange color. And the lower half would be yellow. That's how you will have to paint all the windows of the house. So now the house looks lit like there is lighting inside the house. And then I'm taking some yellow with white and make reflection of the light on the snow, which has fallen on the ground. So with a small brush, I'm just randomly making a few strokes with the light yellow color. And also under the tree because we are going to hang lights on the tree as well. So the reflection of the lights is going to fall on the ground where the tree stands. Random strokes. Now, we are going to make snow which has fallen on the branches of the tree. So I have taken some white with a small brush, and I'm applying white paint over the branches. So on top of the branches, you will have to put the white color. So that makes it look like the snow has fallen. So going to apply white color on the top part of every branch. Don't make it too thick. It's just going to be thin. So that's how we have covered the tree with the snow. Now I'm taking yellow color along with a little white, and we are going to make Christmas lights hung on the tree. So just making small circles and filling in the color. These are the lights decorated over the tree. So I think this gives a Christmas effect. So, yeah, that's pretty much it. See you in the next class. 8. Painting the ice: Hello, everyone. In this class, we are going to see how to paint snow covered floor. So we are going to use middle sized brush and going to dip the brush in white color and start dabbing on the canvas. So we take some color on the paint brush and flattening the brush, we just dab. We are not going to blend the color or mix the color on the canvas. We are simply going to dab and let the texture be. So that's how we are going to paint the entire floor. Now, where there is yellow, there will also be some white and continuing with the dabbing technique. So if you notice, these are visible brush strokes. We are not going to blend them and applying these strokes everywhere, all over. Now, similarly, we are going to take some light blue color mixing blue and white together. We are going to dab with the light blue color. So now it looks like snow. On some parts, there's this yellow color, which is, again, the lightening effect. Now we will paint the stars. So we are going to use small brush, and using the tip of the brush, we are going to make some dots, some small size, some big size, So we are going to use a small pointed brush so that we can make the stars randomly anywhere. It's quite a fun process to do this because it's very random. So this is how we have painted the stars. Now we are going to paint the smoke coming out from chimney. So we are just going to take the white paint using the small brush again and just applying rough strokes. Without adding a lot of water and with very little color, we are just going to spread that color so that it looks smoky. We are not using a lot of paint. We are just taking a bit of paint and then spreading it. So this is how we have created smoke coming out. 9. Painting the Stars: Now we are going to take some dark green color and make the trees. Using the middle sized brush, we are just going to apply small thick strokes. We don't have to blend or mix the color, we just have to apply thick strokes and give it a triangular shape. Likewise, we are going to create another tree and now making another tree here. So it's triangular in shape and just by applying the paint and not blending it. Now, we are going to take some brown color with a small brush and making the outlines with a brown color. Outlines of the windows, as well as one horizontal and one vertical line. That's how we are going to paint on all our windows. So we had painted orange and yellow color earlier. That is to show the lighting inside the windows, and now we are making the windows. So using small pointed brush, we are going to do this. So this is how we have created our windows. Now, if you feel like adding brown anywhere else, you may after that, we are going to take some white on the small size brush and make the snow clad trees. So we already applied green colour. We are going to take some white color and make the trees snow clad. So I'm just applying the paint and not really mixing it. I'm just leaving the strokes there. So it looks like snow. We are going to do the same with all three trees there. We are just applying the paint and leaving the strokes. And this is how we have created this beautiful Christmas winter season painting. 10. Conclusion : So that's how we created this Christmas winter season painting. I hope you all enjoyed the class, and I hope you all make a beautiful, stunning painting. Do share with me once you finish making it. Thank you for watching. See you in the next class. 11. Connect with me : [No Speech]
