Are you ready to take your creative workflow to an untapped level? If so, grab a notebook or file, this is going to be really good. I'll see you inside. [MUSIC] 2. #1 Top Mistake When Using ChatGPT: I'm just going to address the elephant in the room. AI is not exactly the first thing that a handful of us think will work for us because it's tech stuff. [LAUGHTER] But I have designed this class specifically for creatives, just like you, I am an artist and fellow creative myself, so I'm going to break this stuff down into a way that is very easy to understand and even easier to implement. In addition to providing you with the knowledge of what you can do and how to properly use AI to your advantage, I've also, very excited about this, I've put together a fully customizable template stack for you that is filled with formulas on how to get high-quality results. First and foremost, it is important to understand that AI is not just one tool or one platform, but rather a collection of technologies that can be applied in many different ways. I know it's vague, but when the possibilities are endless, sometimes it's really hard to nutshell a beautiful thing. But there are AI tools and platforms available for just about any type of task or workflow. We'll be diving into a lot of possibilities and direct examples in this class, some of which are including generating, not just well-structured, but stop them in their tracks. Social media posts, crafting engaging blog post titles with ease that search engines will love. Writing compelling product descriptions that will take readers to a new level of connection. Setting up lead magnets, opt-ins, email campaigns, funnels, things that will guide your subscribers through a curated nurture sequence that's effective and serves you and your bottom line, and creating all the content. You got an email list, check, want to build one, check. Instagram, check. Website, check. Pinterest, check. Shall I go on? I will show you the dirty behind-the-scenes of the whole thing simpler than you would think. You can say goodbye to spending hours on Monday and tasks. Hello to more time doing the creative work that you love. Whether you're an artist that selling artwork or teacher offering online classes, you name it, you have the ability to streamline your process and effectively bring your work to the masses. How can you use AI to support your work and bring your ideas to life? You need to understand that what you want to achieve with AI and what resources are available to help you get there. Whether you want to generate social media posts or write those marketing campaigns, automate inquiries, there's an AI tool to make it happen. There's a way that you can construct it to make sure it's done well. This might be the most important thing that I tell you throughout this entire class. Write this down, stick it on your monitor. AI is only as good as the data that you feed it. That means it's important to make sure that you're inputting high-quality instructions that are directly relevant to your needs and that you're using it in a way that aligns with your goals. The sentence that I'm about to say is boring, but try not to glaze over it because it's only one sentence. AI works by using algorithms and machine learning to analyze data and make predictions based on that data. Boring sentence is done but basically, the more data that you provide, the more accurate the AI's predictions will be. The quality of the data is key because if it's in any way inaccurate or irrelevant, the predictions will also be inaccurate and irrelevant. This is a reason why a lot of people might find it difficult to effectively use AI and not get the results that they wish that they would get. They just simply don't know how to ask for what they want. Where do you start? The first step is to identify the specific task or workflow that you want to automate or improve with AI. That will help you determine what type of information to provide that will be the most appropriate for your needs. While there are many ways that you can use AI, this class will focus on my favorite ways to incorporate it into your daily creative workflow. You can thank me later because I'm about to supercharge your workflow and help you take your game to the next level. See you in the next video. 3. My Fav AI Language Tools: Alright, let's get into this. If you've been looking into Ai, which she will have been because you're here, then there's a strong chance that you have probably already heard the name chat GPT get tossed around. It is quite the game changing language model. It's great for complex tasks that require more in-depth understanding and analysis. That's what a boring sentence that I just said right out of my mouth. Basically, it's a popular kid at school. And it's for good reason. It can generate human-like texts. It's constantly improving and evolving as it learns more from the data that it's fed. And the big one is the ability to ask follow-up questions or insert follow-up instructions. It's just a huge advantage. So while we will explore it all in its glory very soon, there are indeed some alternatives to be aware of because AI, of course, doesn't stop at one resource. So I'm just gonna give some honorable mentions real quick. And you know what? This is gonna be evolving and by tomorrow there's gonna be a lot more. So you chat is another language model. It's super beneficial for tasks that maybe don't require as sophisticated understanding of context. So it's really good for quick responses. It's a good resource when you want to do like I did, idea generation without the need to go down some big rabbit hole. It's also good to know when you get that cute little chat GPT. Is it capacity message? Now, right, sonic, It's also known as Chat sonic. It's got more capabilities, but that one is one that you may hear coming up shortly. It has been developed recently with more features and a broader knowledge base. And it's able to access the Internet. Chat. Gpt does not have that ability. It doesn't make a huge difference when it comes to tasks, but when it comes to like relevance, it makes it less prone to errors when you use something that has access to Internet. Bringing this back in at the time of filming this lesson, both chat GBT and you chat are free to use. Chat GPT intends on offering paid plans in the near future. Whether a free version will remain. It's not clear, but I also want to just drop in Jasper copy ai. Those are honorable mentions here because they've been around for a little while. They help with generating content for articles, product descriptions, and things like that. I do find that there are nowhere near as customizable being able to like essentially communicate via chat bot to tweak and refine details that I want. I know I just mentioned a lot of things, but I'm doing that so that you know, that there are tools out there. I've done a ton of research and those are the ones that I would line up to be the most efficient. I don't use those other ones. I use chat, GPT, and I use you chat and I use Notion. And Notion is more like a cleanup. It helps me clean up, helps me summarize. Okay. If your gears are on high-speed right now and your brain is like, is there an AI for that? Kinda like the viral, is there an app for that? Then the answer I'll give you is yes, there's almost certainly an AI for that. But don't look at all these shiny objects right now. Because what I wanna do with you is to help you use this technology as a tool for productivity and not distress. So buckle up, get focused and get it ready to be productive. And I'll see you in the next lesson. 4. The Power Prompt: Welcome back. This is probably going to be my favorite lesson of the course. I'm just going to start off with if you've played around and your AI input produces results that might seem basic or mundane, it is due to the parameters that it's trained on. It's trained to assume a baseline. AI has its own baseline and that's why it arrives at these logical and often simple results. In order to get quality results that are effective for what you want, you need to learn how to implement what I'm going to call the power prompt. A power prompt is the ultimate tool for AI. It helps to really boost creativity and structure, content sessions, guides you in your writing process. The thing is creating effective AI prompts is its own art and it's its own science, and it requires careful consideration of your goals and the purpose of your prompts. In this lesson, we're going to explore the key elements of effective AI prompts and I'm going to give you tips and tricks on crafting your very own. I'm going to repeat it because I know I said it, but it's the information in this lesson, essentially, AI is only as good as the data that you feed it. Know your goals. Before you get started crafting your AI powered content, it is crucial to have a very clear idea of what you were hoping to achieve from it. What kind of output do you want to create. By setting these goals, you can design prompts that are exactly what you need. The power prompt provides the AI with enough information to generate output that is tailored to the specific needs and preferences of the person asking for help. We're going to take a look at what all this means in just a moment. But as a general overview, it often includes information about the topic and then specific details about that topic, a target reach or a target market, any sort of specific requirements, specific preferences, desired formatting, anything that's necessary for those optimal results. I'm going to give you some examples here. I'm just going to, for the sake of this first example, just use online ads as a model. What I could say to AI if I wanted an ad and I had never looked into it before, I'm going to assign the AI a role. Rather than saying help me write an ad on this or I'm going to put an ad on Facebook for this. What I'm going to do instead is give the AI a role. I can say, I want you to act as an add specialist for Meta and Facebook, teaching algorithms to beginners creating ads for the first time. Your goal as a specialist is to educate beginners on the exact optimal setup of online ads in order to produce the best conversions. What I'm doing here is I'm going to just highlight what I've done in this text. I have called out that the AI as an ads specialist, where they work. I could say at an ad agency or at a marketing firm, something that is more specific in the data so it knows what is an ads specialists, it has some context. The role and then what the role entails, in this case, teaching algorithms. Then I have level of difficulty or level of target market. I say beginners and then creating ads for the first time. Your goal as a specialist, that's their task or their goal, that's their objective, that's what you're giving the AI, is to educate. They're not creating content in this example. They are educating those beginners. There is the task of educating. There is the target market again, beginners on the exact optimal setup. It's not the setup. It's optimal. It's desire, something like that, of online ads in order to produce the best conversions. I also have my main goal. That last objective is to produce conversions. This would be even better had I assigned what it is that their client wants. I can say you are an ad specialist at Meta at Facebook and your client is hiring you to do XYZ. Your client who is a graphic designer and giving a specific campaign detail. What is it that they're trying to promote? Something like that would be the most effective. I can continue with this data and I can say to the AI, what type of ad format would be the most effective in reaching specific target audience for specific product or offer and how can I optimize the ad campaign to increase conversion rates and maximum ROI? Let's insert some staff here. I want you to act as an expert advertiser. You will create a campaign to promote a product or offer. You will choose a target audience, develop key messages and slogans, select media channels for promotion, and decide on any additional activities needed to reach your goals. You're telling this to the AI and then you can say, my first suggestion request is, I need help creating an advertising campaign for, insert purpose. I know that that's a lot and I know that it's a general planting of this idea for you. Remember, I have created a full guide for you that has a lot of these prompts that are pre-made where you can plug your information in there to get you going. This is going to be a muscle that builds over time. As you do it, you're going to start to understand how to insert this information so that you can get to your bottom line. Ideally the essential AI power prompt, it doesn't always have to have to, even though I want to use the word must. But it should incorporate the AI role. So that's you are a, act as a, pretend you are, something like that. Then you have your target audience. This is so you can tailor the language and tone to suit who your content is for. Then you have your topic, idea or subject and emphasis of whatever it is you're creating. Super important is the purpose or the goal of what you're trying to achieve with the content? Are you trying to inform? Are you trying to persuade? Are you trying to educate? Are you trying to build connection? Are you trying to entertain? Then the context. Providing the big picture and audience relevance. Any details that are highlighting the essential core information. This part is really fun. The voice or tone of how your content is set up and perceived by readers. Some examples of ways that AI can be used to adjust your content's tone include like using subtle changes in language to create a more formal or informal field or using humor or other stylistic ways to just create more engaging output. That's just a matter of saying, summarize this in a casual way, summarize this in a confident way. Something along those lines. Again, getting more into this in a bit. Then there is the limit. That's the number of words or the number of characters or length of time. You could include sources or references that might be relevant and then call the action. That's not always necessary depending on what you're creating. But if it is something and you want there to be a desired outcome or a desired action from whatever it is that you're building, always include your CTA. Then additional relevant details. The more specific your data is, the more specific your results will be. This is what I would consider your key to best results in all of your input and all of those entries, and it's your main go-to template that you'll find in your template vault. But then I've also included specific templates to assist you in creating highly attention grabbing and discoverable and wildly engaging blog posts, social media posts, product descriptions, emails, product, events, business names, all this stuff. You got it accessible to you in your downloads. Once you have all of these elements in place, you can create content that is tailored to each individual audience or segment, if you will, that's relevant to their interests. It just provides informative and actionable items for them. I'm going to give you a quick hot tip. If you want to guarantee that your input is even more thorough before you officially enter the prompt. This is something that I've sampled quite a bit, so you can phrase it like this. You actually say this part. Let's say I'm entering the following into ChatGPT and then you insert your prompt and then follow with, what other details should I include in this prompt in order to get the best results? When you learn to curate your content and optimize your workflow to meet your exact criteria, it makes it highly optimized for search discoverability and for social engagement. It's going to really feed you some help and you can get that guidance from AI itself. It's pretty cool. In our next lesson, we are going to explore six ways that you can alter ChatGPT's writing style to best suit your desired tone of voice. I'll see you in a moment. 5. 6 Strategies to Alter Writing Styles: Welcome back. We just went over the power prompt. Before we get into more prompting, I'm going to give you six different ways that you can strategize and experiment with different writing styles and techniques on your end, to keep the output content fresh and engaging, but most importantly, very relevant. The first and easiest way to alter ChatGPT as a writing style, is by changing the prompts. Since AI generates responses based on the prompts that you provide, altering them can make all the difference in writing the style that you're looking for and using more informal or formal language in your prompts. You can also specify to speak in a casual tone same with something that's more formal or straightforward, authoritative, and depending on the language that you use, you can have results in a more professional language and whatnot. That's the first one. It's just to adjust the way that you present your prompts. Just as ChatGPT responds differently to the styles of prompts, the same applies to different lengths of prompts. If you want a longer response, just try providing more detailed or complex prompts. If you want a shorter response, simplify your prompt. I feel like this should also answer the frustration of so many people who are wondering like why the responses that they're receiving, why are they aren't quite the ideal length or quality they're going for? It could just be that they're not detailed enough. That's a huge one. Keep that in mind. You're going to get what you get. The other is to use specific vocabulary. AI language models have been trained on an extensive amount of texts. It has the ability to comprehend a vast amount of words and phrases, like a lot. If you want your results to feature or contain particular terms or phrases or styles of those, use similar types of vocabulary in your input. Then just as changing the length and the style of prompts can alter the writing style. Changing the context or the focus of the conversation can also have an effect. Instead of giving general prompts, try providing more specific scenarios or questions to get ChatGPT to generate more specific responses. Then prompt engineering. This is what we're focusing on in this class. Prompt engineering is a powerful tool for fine tuning the writing style to your specific needs. By designing prompts that target specific aspects of language or style, you can influence the way that AI generates responses in a subtle but effective way. As an example, let's say you're a marketer looking to create or generate product descriptions for an e-commerce site, you might design prompts that encourage AI to use more persuasive language or to emphasize the unique features of each product. Alternatively, let's say you're a creative writer looking for news story ideas. If you design prompts that encourage AI to create characters with these complex personalities, or you use vivid and evocative language that really describes your general idea with the settings and scenes when you carefully engineer your prompts, you can generate these unique responses that are tailored to your ideas, to your specific needs, to your goals. Then finally, you can combine different techniques to get writing styles you're looking for or output that you're looking for. This might look like style of prompts with specific keywords, relevant scenarios, it'll give you a good mix. I recommend as you continue letting AI learn from you, that you experiment with different prompts, you adjust the length of your input, you use that specific vocabulary, change the context of the conversation, use prompt engineering. You're going to be a pro at the end of this, and then combine the techniques. Those strategies will help create content that's tailored. I know I keep saying it, but it is to your specific needs and goals and it ultimately saves a lot of time and effort in the long run when you generate these fresh and unique ideas and output based off of your own concepts. In our next lesson, you will learn how AI can assist you in your content creation process, which is going to save you that time and effort while generating your fresh and also unique to you, ideas. 6. ChatGPT for Content Creation: Welcome back. I think it's safe to say that content creation is a bitter topic for a lot of us. It's time-consuming and we're always on the hunt for new ways to generate it and that's time-consuming. For some of us it's more than one platform. It just becomes a bit daunting and makes us feel we're working for an algorithm, because we are. You want to keep everybody engaged. You want to keep them informed, you want to keep them interested, and you want to do it in a way that is efficient and effective. Let me remind you of something. When it comes to AI and content creation, you are still in complete control. AI is a very powerful tool that will indeed assist you in ways that we have never had the capabilities to do in our potentials until now, but you can still choose to do with that information, what you will, where you don't ever have to lose your own voice, get your hands dirty in the results so that you can ensure that what you put into the world is exactly what you would want to create on your own. Pep talk over, for now, you can provide it with a set of guidelines, such as the type of content that you want to create, your target audience, your brand voice and tone, the topics that you want to cover, the best time to publish them. You can use it to help you create that personalized plan that's optimized for your specific goals and audience. Think about how much time and effort you'll save so that you can focus on the creation process, not just the production and all the behind the scenes, messy stuff. Not only that it helps you generate fresh, unique ideas, it feeds off of what you input. It's just a way of repositioning it, and you're like, gosh, I wouldn't have thought of that specific thing, but this is exactly what I need. You already know the stuff, it's just a different view and that can be especially valuable if you're feeling stuck or blocked creatively in a business sense, just remember that the more specific you are, the better your results will be. I want to show you an example so that you can better understand how to set this up for yourself. As I share, I'm going to be showing the breakdown of how and what I input in order to get those exact results that I'm after. I'm going to call these out. Then I'm going to input both of them into AI and see what results that I get. Let's say you're an interior designer, you want to come up with a content plan for your YouTube channel. Instead of inputting something like 10 video ideas for home minimalism, that's it. Think about instead, relevant details that matter in your bottom line. What are your goals by sharing these videos? Who are you trying to reach? What is the point of this? A much better inquiry would look like, I am a creative entrepreneur or I am a interior designer, and I want to grow my YouTube channel, right there, and you can assign this to the AI. You can say you are this and your goal is this. The point is, there's a role assigned, there is a goal, a general objective, which is to grow the YouTube channel. This continues with, can you generate a content plan for me that includes a list of 10 unique topics that I could create videos around that are related to my brand and resonate with my audience. This is very specific, so let's highlight it. Generate a content plan; that's the main call out here. Then that includes, so there's additional details. You have a list and then a specific quantity, 10 unique topics that I could create videos around. That's going to be the format of the content, and then that are related to my brand and resonate with my audience. At this point, we don't know what the brand is other than that quick role that was mentioned in the beginning. Now is a good time to continue on saying, my brand, and let's say this interior designers, my brand is all about clean design, then with focus on making minimalism feel like home. That is an emotional tie to the topic. My brand voice is casual and sarcastic, which changes things up because had I not mentioned a brand voice of being casual and sarcastic, it might be sentimental, it might be earthy or very grounded. But when I add in casual and sarcastic, then that might and I'm not saying it will, but it very well could inform AI to come up with something that's a little more off the cuff, if you will. Then I'm continuing in this prompt even more. Ensure that each topic is detailed and includes ideas for title, outline, and key takeaways for each video. That's not just giving a general idea of a video, but it's also breaking down in the list of 10, ideas that I asked for. Titles and outline and a key takeaway. An input like this gives the AI much more to work with and makes it so much easier to tweak. Let's plug both of these in and see what it comes up with. [MUSIC] As expected, as you can see from these results, the more detailed data input provided, a lot more output for us and you're covered and handsome. Now, I just want to point out that this did not write the content for you. This did not take your voice away. It took your idea, it ran with it, it did the dirty work, and now it's on you and you can bring that to life. Had we plugged in that basic search, the results would have been much less desirable, but you don't know that until you know what is possible. Say goodbye to creative block. Now let's look at creating captivating titles for videos, for blog posts, for anything that you're hoping to get those scrolling eyeballs to stop on. Having a great title header, bullet points. Having those stand out can make a huge difference in how well your content performs. In fact, product descriptions can sell themselves just in a matter of a few handful of words. When you're submitting data to AI to generate good titles, good headers, it's really important to include the specific details like topic. This is where you can clearly state the topic of the content, whether it's a product or it's a blog post. If you're writing a blog post about brand photo shoots, mention it specifically, mention that that's what you're covering. Tone and style. Make sure to specify the tone, style that you want title and header to reflect. For example, if your content is informative, if it is comedic, if it's serious. If you want it to come across casually or shocking, something like that. Then your keywords, you can use relevant keywords in your prompt, and that's going to help to generate titles and headers that really align with your target audience's search queries, and also help improve your SEO or search engine optimization. Branding. If you have a specific brand image and vibe or voice, make sure to include that in your prompt as well. Consider the target audience for your content and include any specific language or terminology that appeals to them in your prompt. I'm going to be very specific with another inquiry, and before I'm going to again highlight how I worded it for best results. Let's look at an oil painting class. I am an oil painter. That is specifying a field of study and one to provide detailed value in a blog post that will lead people to a CTA to take my online course at the end of the blog post. Then I include the name of the post, From paper to Canvas in seven days. This is something I could have had AI help me generate as far as the title goes. I could have done that before and then I'm going into this content to continue to build it. So, oil painter, this is where I specified a field of study and then detailed value. When I say detailed value, it's telling the AI that I want to dive in more than just surface level. Then I mentioned, in a blog post, that's the assignment, and then I say lead people to a CTA. That's going to be informing the AI to include a call to action, probably a link. I can include that link in the input. Then when I say take my online course at the end of the post, that ensures that the blog won't focus on that heavy promo throughout. It's just going to be that wrap-up. Now, I'm not done with this prompt. After I say this blog post itself, the reason why I write it out instead of just what it's about is because providing specific details makes less editing work for me. Then I can go on to say, write a 1,000-word blog post. When I say 1,000 words, it's making the assignments specific in length. It informs the AI to do that deeper than surface-level dive. With a focus on 10 tips for stunning abstract art in a confident yet friendly and inviting tone. The 10 tips for stunning abstract art, that's telling it what to primarily write about. Then I point out the tone to make it clear on how to come across and the language that's used. I'm also going to mention, I want it to contain relevant and quality keywords that's telling it to do the research on the keywords related to the topics so that I'm not. If you want to, you can also share some to get started. I can say including and then in quotes, abstract paintings, modern abstract art, abstract art techniques, and so on. I'm giving specific keywords I definitely want included. Once that's done, I can edit, so, that part I want to really emphasize because you don't want AI to do your writing for you like legitimately, I think of the output as like a skeleton. It's like a really beefed-up outline because it's written, but it's written in a way that helps you formulate the thoughts of how you would say something or what you can change. Think about how you want to edit these results. This is an echo of an echo, but remember you are in control of your content, you are in control of your brand voice. It's up to you to ensure that the content that you create reflects your unique style and values. Let's look at what we can see on this output. I'll use Peggy as an example. I'll look at just a bit of this to show you how easy it is at this point to take this idea and make it mine. Now real quick, what I'm going to do is go over this first paragraph so that you can actually see how I identify what type of content it is and how I can reword it to make it mine. I'm not going to do the whole blog post. I won't make you sit here for it, but I just wanted to give you some insight into how you can also identify what type of content is being generated so that you can really make it yours. This isn't something I would say it all, so I'm going to get rid of it. I will reword this intro so that it sounds a lot more like my voice. I'll keep the part in here that sets people up to know what they are about to read. Say tip one, explore modern abstract art. The reason I like it is because it has keywords because it would be in a header. This is I'm using notion by the way, just as an aside, then it would be scannable basically, so, Google's SEO would like that. This first tip basically encourages people to check out artists from different eras and different styles. I'm going to do that in my own way. The reason I like that it does this specifically is so that I have more of a structured post that I can replace in my own words. I take away this specific examples because whether they're relevant to me or not, they're not my voice. I'm taking those away, but I am including some. Once I include them, then I can really point out the things about their artwork that resonate with me, that help guide my own process. Then I'll conclude this paragraph, letting people know the reasons why it's great to study this art. Basically, I wanted to give you a really clear example on, yeah, you can have it generate your content, but you absolutely don't have to have it literally generate your content. You can definitely provide detailed input to AI to use as a tool. You can ensure that the results that you receive are tailored to your specific goals and your audience. Take it and run with it, make it yours. Focus your time and energy on the creative aspects of your work and let AI build those skeletons and structures that you can build upon. It's an excellent way to do it. Just don't let it take your voice. Do not let it take your voice. Now, before we move on, I have a mini-assignment for you. I want you to take the power prompt. I want you to take the information that you've received so far, and I want you to head on over to chatGPT. What you'll want to do is head over to openai.com and head up here to chatGPT and just create a free account and generate a prompt. Be as specific as possible. That's going to be the first thing that you share in your project, make it relevant to you, your bottom line, and what you want to create. This might look like an outline or a list of ideas, but I want to see a screenshot of your prompt and the results that you get. After you do that, I will see you in our next lesson where we will look at how you can formulate your input for engaging social media posts. 7. ChatGPT for Social Media: Welcome back. You have started to dive into AI. You're starting to understand how this thing works. You don't have to spend forever brainstorming ideas, crafting the perfect caption, thinking about the best call-to-action language, all you need to do is prepare a specific prompt that really guides the way. Let's say you are an artist, you have a new art collection coming out, you want to announce it on social media. You can provide a prompt that includes the key details about your collection. The theme, the medium used, the colors that you incorporated. The vibe behind the collection, include the tone that you want to carry into it and that will really help you get the heavy lifting out of the way when you have AI help you with the post. Even better, the post variations, because you can simply tweak them to make them yours. Not only will you have your post or plural posts, variations ready, but it'll have all the elements that you need. A catchy hook, an engaging description about the collection. It'll have people eager to check it out and it can even add relevant hashtags to help you reach a wider audience. To create the most effective social media posts is to follow this power prompt, so your target audience. This is almost always going to show up. Who is this post intended for? What are their interests and demographics? Then your tone of voice, is the post meant to be serious? Is it light-hearted? Is it inspiring? Is it informative? Knowing the tone of your post will help create the right voice for your brand. It will help you better tweak it to really make it yours on the output. Your call to action. What do you want people to do after reading that post or seeing that post, you want them to visit your website? Do you want them to check out your collection, buy your art? Do you want them to add a comment to continue a discussion? Do you want them to share the post? Then keywords and hashtags that are relevant. That's going to increase the visibility of your posts, searchability, things like that. You also include the post length. How long should this thing be? If you say for like a Twitter post, then it automatically knows the character limits so you don't actually have to look that up. It's pretty cool. But let's look at an example here. Let's say that I want to write a social media post about a new collection that I am releasing as an artist. If I wanted to generate a truly effective post as close to my own voice as possible I could input, act as a mixed media artist releasing a new collection on Tuesday. The mixed media artist is the role and I'm being specific and when the release will be, I'm being clear on what it is that is happening and I'm being specific with the target audience. Continuing on your new collection features. These are going to be the key standout features, natural earth pigments that you foraged in nature yourself. The task here is to create a social media post and then I am including with an earthy vibe. That's saying what vibe I want this to feel like, relayed in a casual yet insightful tone. There's the tone that embraces connection to each other and to the earth. That is giving that specific context that I want woven into this post. Then I specify to use relevant hashtags for original artwork and earth pigments. I'm not putting the hashtags in here, but I'm giving keywords so that they get included. Then I go on to say that the post will go onto Instagram, that that is my format two days before the launch. I've already listed that the launch is Tuesday. It should include a call to action. That's my call to action to get people to sign up to be notified of an exclusive early release before you give access to the public. That is giving a very specific objective and detail for this post. Let's plug this in and see what we get [MUSIC] Let's take a look at this. I'm just going to change some things around. I'm going to write what I would write with my own excitement and more details. But you just, you can see how it really set up a nice framework and that's what I was after because sometimes I just go blank. I am editing this to make it my own. Now, one of the things I want to mention here real quick is as I'm rewriting this, I am seeing that some of my phrasing is repeated later. One of the things that I like about notion, if you have notion is that it has an AI built into it and you can do this in ChatGPT along with other ones, other AI, but I can highlight just this to have it reword it for me. I can say ask AI and then you can make shorter or make longer, simplify, and change the tone. You can also say improve writing. It rewrote it as I believe that we all share a profound connection with the world surrounding us. Really, what I need is world to be [LAUGHTER] changed, which I doubt would happen in this, but I just wanted to share that as an example of another way that you can use AI to your benefit. Sometimes we just need help rephrasing things or cleaning up the way that our writing came out. Does great at doing things like that. You can see how providing this information will help ensure that your post is optimized. Again, for your target audience, for your platform, and brand voice and tone. If this seems like a lot of info to plug in every time, remember, I've got you covered. You have your customizable social media template in your Vault access that you can copy-paste. Then you can add your own details into it to generate the exact results that you're after. In the big picture, social media posts will now take very little effort, so get excited. [LAUGHTER] Now let's look at emails. We have a lot to cover, so I'll see you in the next lesson. 8. ChatGPT for Emails: Oh gosh, emails, then a series of emails. My brain just starts screaming at me, but they are just as important to nurture your subscribers as an entrepreneur if you're in that space and if you want to monetize what you love doing and why not make the process a little less painful. If you've got the marketing laws, save that for my marketing class because right now we're just going to get dirty in the details. Just remember, as far as marketing, it's not icky. Just think of it like you're sharing your excitement about the offer you created, you created that with pride. You feel confident in it. You know that not only will people resonate and like it, but it will serve a specific purpose for them and that's exciting. It's not slimy, it's not salesy. End pep talk. Let's continue. There are two reminders as we jump in. The first is that just like any other content that you would want AI to help you with, it's very important to have a clear understanding of your goal and target audience. I know, broken record. What are you trying to achieve with your email funnels and who are you trying to reach? This is going to help guide that content and structure of your funnels. You want to make sure to use descriptive language. AI can generate high quality email copy, but it is important to provide that quality information so it can best do its job. Then my echo is coming back in here to encourage you to use the output of AI as a guide, as a tool to optimize your workflow, as a way to get the bulk work out of the way so that you can then come in and fine-tune things to really make it yours and your voice. Maybe you have no idea where to start or what you might even provide to even grow your list. This is awesome. Enter the ultimate idea generator. Let's say you are a modern rug tufter and you want people to sign up for your email list. Your first input could be, I'm a modern rug tufter specializing in bright, retro colors and nostalgic designs, I want to build my email list, or you could even say you are an expert copywriter and your client is a modern rug tufter. Different ways to phrase this and we talked about phrasing prompts and a little bit of a different way each time to see output. If it makes a difference, how it makes a difference. What are 15 ideal call to action ideas of freebies that I can provide? This is an email list building idea generator. Once you've built that solid lead magnet, we can then go into the automated process of email funnels. In a nutshell, the idea of their design is to guide new subscribers through a nurturing process. Now this is a good thing because it means that you're not just screaming by this as soon as they sign up. Instead, you're offering them loads of value. You are getting to show them that you appreciate them being in your little corner of the Internet, you're letting them get their hands on what you provide so that they feel more confident and sticking around. Each email in a funnel can have a specific goal. Whether that's to educate the reader, connect by sharing a memorable story or eventually invite them to purchase your offer, but I want to help you expedite the process of creating email funnels when using AI. You can provide specific prompts and details and generate high quality email copy based off of your brand's tone and your style. That's going to save that time,it's going to ensure that your email funnels are consistent and in line with your voice. Let's look at some examples scenarios. The first one will be to simply inquire about the ideal email funnel for your industry. This gives you a good starting point. If we use that previous example, you could input, I'm a rug tufter specializing in one-of-a-kind designs that I sell to consumers. I also licensed patterns to companies for production and I'd like to build a quality email funnel to keep subscribers engaged. Curate an example of the ideal email funnel for me. This prompt is focusing on selling your pieces in a non-pushy way. What we're seeing in this output is a welcome email, educational content, product promotion, exclusive content, and it goes into detail into what you would include in these types of emails to make it easier for when you actually write them. As you can see, a general outline of what that email funnel could look like for this rug tufter. Now, let's say you have a lead magnet related to a tutorial or a class that you offer on the art of rug tufting. That email funnel would look a lot different because it's instructional, its educational. You could specify the details of your input as, I'm a modern rug tufter, known for my bright and unusual design choices. I want to grow my email list by offering educational content. The first email should deliver the lead magnet I offered, a guide to jumpstart rug tufting with these three secrets. I want the funnel to eventually lead people to my online program, the ultimate rug tufting school. Create an email funnel that includes five emails that will be delivered within two weeks of signing up. We have an amazing skeleton now that we can tweak. This saved us a lot of time and here's what I find so helpful about this particular output by the AI. You'll notice that because we specified that it should deliver five emails within two weeks, it automatically spaced out these days according to the best practices for ideal reach. That means that you'll be delivering value and a timeframe that isn't annoying and it's not clogging somebody's inbox. The next thing I like about the way that we input this prompt was so that the AI could build the funnel, but not necessarily speak for us. Looking at the first email it generated, we've got customizable areas that we can edit and of course we can tweak the texts in our own words. Then it's also got a hook to tell people to keep an eye out for more from you. That's something that you might have forgotten to do in your own copy because when our own eyes are on it so much like we can forget these details, and that reminder is getting people excited. That reminder might be the one thing that people are like, oh, I'm going to remember to check this like I have something else that's coming that I'm really interested in. Then this second email, it gives you a tangible example that is related to your industry. You can run with this or it might spark a different idea, so maybe you don't use this email. It might give you an idea of what to do instead, but in either case, the email itself is formatted and ready for you to capture your reader's attention with that skeleton in place, with that structure in place. I really like that the opening line as a reminder of the value that I already sent, but I would change the language so it sounds more like me. Then once again, this email ends with a hook to keep people ready for what's next. This third email kicks off with another way to remind people of the value that you have provided already, along with even more goodness. Then at the end, it has a soft, non-pressury, organic introduction to your course. By now, you have given three quality pieces of valuable content and now is a great time to introduce people to their next steps. I personally love that AI already understands the formatting so that you don't have to put yourself through the pressure and the process of, well, when's the right time mention my cores, or how do I set this up without feeling like I'm blowing people's inboxes up? You know what I mean? I think you get the idea by now. I want you to feel empowered to prompt AI to format all kinds of emails. Think about the reasons that we send both standalone emails and why we set up automated funnels. Here's an at a glance list of all the different types of emails and email funnels that you can use AI for to help expedite that workflow. You can do that on your own time and don't worry about writing all these down really fast, because these lists, along with a plethora of customizable done for you prompts, are available in your tech vault and I can't wait for you to dive into those. But now that your email game just went from, no I don't want to, too strong and mighty, take a moment to digest all of this information, and your assignment for this section is to do one of two things. If you already have a lead magnet in place, I want you to use the prompt from this lesson to generate a general email funnel and come up with either a CTA or a deliverable or something along those lines that is unique to you, and if you don't have a lead magnet yet, I want you to use the prompts to generate ideas of what you can provide that are specific to you. I want you to take a screenshot and share that, share your prompt and share your results, and then make any mentions of any tweaks that you made along the way in order for it to better suit you. That being said, in our next lesson, we will take a look at how AI can assist in our research efforts. This one, I love. I'll see you soon. 9. ChatGPT for Research: I'm going to narrow it out a little bit. I love how much can be learned by using AI. I like to overshare. One of my top five Clifton strengths is learner. As we're about to dive into what is often considered the dreaded, time-consuming research that we all need to do all the time for all the things and how things will work together to help us as independent creatives, my complaints are actually just out of support because I personally love the process of researching. As an aside, I also have individualization in my top five, which means that I totally want you to include your top five strengths along in your class projects so that I can narrow it out. If you know you know. If you're a personality freak you are. Anyway, for my experience [LAUGHTER], the top three benefits of researching with AI are personalized learning. What I mean by that is that AI can analyze your learning style and provide personalized recommendations and resources that can help you better understand the subject that you're looking into. That can be especially useful if you're struggling to understand a concept or you need more hands-on experience. Then there's the access to vast amounts of information. It can quickly search through such a huge database, including articles, videos, multimedia resources. It provides relevant results in seconds and that can save so much time in comparison to manually searching information in a search console and that's what they're doing when they're integrating this GPT-3 or GPT-4 whatever it's going to end up being this language-based AI into search engines. That's eventually where this is going to go. It's going to be really helpful to get really familiar and prompt generations so that your input, it gives you the results that you're after. There's automated summarization. AI can automatically summarize information for you. It makes it really quick for you to understand key concepts, key points to a topic. Super helpful if you are short on time and want to grasp essentials. It's like when you look something up and the only thing that's going to explain it to you is a YouTube video that's like 25 minutes long and really you just need that minute 30 summarization [LAUGHTER]. Allow me to take you into a world of wonder. In this example, I have asked ChatGPT to do some research as if it was me prepping for this very class. I put in, "Imagine you are an online teacher specializing in AI research. Your student is a novice researcher who wants to learn how to use a ChatGPT to conduct effective research on a specific topic. The student's learning style is primarily auditory and they prefer to learn by listening to lectures and examples while taking plenty of notes." I'm not assuming on your behalf. I just had to put something in there. It's an example. "The student wants to learn how to evaluate the relevance and accuracy of the results that they receive from ChatGPT and they want to know how to refine their search terms to get better results. The student has requested that you provide easy-to-understand examples and exercises that demonstrate how to use ChatGPT effectively for the research on the chosen topic, along with how to refine search terms and exercises that allow the student to practice using ChatGPT for research. That was a lot. I know, no, I did not have ChatGPT this class for me, although I was tempted to just to prove to you that the content was legit [LAUGHTER], but I'm also really wanting to weave in the reminder of humanity through all of this. It was a tough battle, but I had humanity win because that's the mountain I'm on. But if that picked your interest, no pun intended, I included the results that ChatGPT gave me for this prompt in your workbook for reference. Let me call out the key points that really were important in this prompt. Without walking through this so slowly again, I'm just going to call out what you already know at this point. We have our role of online teacher. This is the specialty, so I'll call it the focus. It's feeding AI information that is relevant. Then we're talking about student. This is your target audience and we mentioned the level that they're at. They want to learn how to use ChatGPT to conduct effective research. We have one learning objective and then a secondary learning objective that gets a little more specific. Then we are talking about the learning style, which is primarily auditory and then listening to lectures, taking notes. Then let's see, how to evaluate. Here's another key. We have how, which is the objective, and then we've got the micro focus. Then we've got another micro focus. Where did it go? Want to learn how to evaluate the relevance and accuracy. That's another micro-focus that they receive. Then let's see, refine search terms, another micro focus, and getting better results is the objective here. That is the role of the AI, the task, provide easy-to-understand examples and exercises. Here is our task, demonstrating how to use GPT effectively along with and then the extra details. Additional details and we got everything that we need in there. We have our role, we have our focus, we have our target audience, we have our objective, we have our micro-focus, we have any additional details we need and then very importantly, we have the task for the AI. Other than the obvious research we do like typing a question into a search engine, creatives can research a variety of topics using AI depending on specific needs and goals. Let's look at some general examples. First is market trends. This is information on current, emerging, or quality classic and timeless trends for their industry. Now, it's important to keep in mind, does the AI that you are using have access to the internet whereas ChatGPT doesn't. But it does have a lot of data to back up trends over time and they can gather data on consumer preferences, product innovations, design styles, techniques, and that information can be used to inform product development and marketing strategies. Then there's competition. Your research on competitors can help you understand the market landscapes, identify best practices, and my favorite, figure out how to differentiate yourself from the competition. This lets you gather valuable information and inform your own business decisions. There's product development. It can help gather information on latest technologies or materials, processes, and spark ideas. Let's say you're creating a line of eco-friendly products. You can use AI to find out about sustainable materials and processes. You can use that information to design your products so that they're not only stylish or effective, but they're also good for the planet and it's not just about being green because by using AI to keep up with industry standards, you can also make sure that your products are safe, that they're certified, they meet requirements. You'll have an advantage ahead of the curve and you'll be able to create just what your audience wants. That's pretty cool. Then there's marketing and advertising. Creatives can use AI to figure out the best marketing strategies for their target audience. Then it will also help to determine advertising channels that will help you best reach the people that you desire to. You can also gather all information about your target audience. Things like interests, buying habits, age, that stuff so you know who you're trying to reach. Once you know what you're trying to reach, AI can help you find the best ways to reach them where they already are. You want to know which social media channels your audience is spending the most time on. AI can give you that info. You want to find out what ads get the most clicks or attention that can be helped with too, basically, you can get a ton of insights that help you make informed decisions about marketing and advertising efforts, amongst other things. The more you know, the better your campaigns will be. That's how to do something. Sometimes creatives just want to learn how to do a thing. It might be a new technique, it might be software, it might be a process. AI can help you in the direction for the best resources for learning. Let's say you're an artist and you want to learn about new materials to use in your artwork. You can use AI to search for that information on types of materials or paints, canvases, paper. You can also discover techniques and processes used in the art world. You can stay on top of keeping your own practice nice and fresh and exciting. You'll have access to all information that will help you get to your next level. Now I want to get into our most detailed input thus far and this is going to apply to selling on Etsy. I am going to assign the AI the role of an Etsy expert. This takes us back to the power prompt. I am inputting. I want you to act as an Etsy expert. I will provide some topics related to the study of selling on Etsy and it will be your job to explain these concepts in an easy-to-understand manner with a helpful and practical tone. This should include providing examples, posing questions, or breaking down complex ideas into smaller pieces that are easy to comprehend. My first request is to explain the concept of search engine optimization, SEO, on Etsy. Can you provide examples on how to optimize product titles, tags, and descriptions to improve product visibility on Etsy search results and explain how to use tools to track and analyze SEO performance? In short, AI can be a valuable tool for researching all stages of a variety of processes, from initial planning stages to the implementation and the execution of those plans. It can also be used to analyze data, provide insights, identify patterns that may not be immediately obvious and by leveraging these capabilities, you can stay informed, you can make better decisions, and you can stay ahead of your competition, which enables you to make the most of your resources. In our next lesson, we are going to work on fixing bland results. When we don't get what we like, instead of adding something like add more, make this longer, put more details in, you are going to learn how to get more tailored results after the fact and this is one of the more valuable things that you will learn for prompt engineering. I will see you shortly. 10. How to Fine Tune AI Results: Sometimes you will want AI to produce lengthier context. Sometimes you're going to want more examples, more specifics, more details. So instead of following up with add more or add more detail or make this longer, remember what you've learned. In order to get specific results, you need to input specific data and that's the same for rerouting and rewriting, so not only is your next input providing more clarity, it's adding onto the previous detail you've already given the AI. The thing is you have the ability to create multiple chat conversations inside of ChatGPT and I'm sure other language models, so as long as you stay inside of a specific conversation about a certain topic that you want input on, you'll continue to get more tailored results every single time because it's learning with each and every prompt that you're providing. In this lesson, I'm going to run through 20 specific examples on instructions that you can give after receiving results that you might not be satisfied with, and that's going to allow ChatGPT to write in a different way for you or construct something differently. Then additionally, I'm giving you 15 more prompts that you can use to add onto your previous content. The first one, can you use more specific vocabulary related to the target audience? Next is, can you make specific bullet points or a specific section sound more, and then insert a tone or a vibe? Sound more casual, sound more confident, sound more friendly, sound more approachable. Can you provide more detailed and specific examples? Can you make this sound more tone of voice for a certain format? Let's say you want to have it be like a tweet and you want to sound a lot different than you might have sounded in a full blog or something along those lines. Can you add more contextual information in order to provide more depth and background? Can you use more colorful language to make this section more engaging? Can you adjust the style to be more concise and to the point for a busy audience. Summarize the key points in bullet points for better readability, so you're asking to summarize the main points, but you're also specifying the format which you want bullet points. Adjust the formatting to make this content easier to scan and read, such as adding subheadings and/or bullet points, a different way to say the previous. Adjust the length of this section to make it more appropriate for and then insert the format that you want, or the channel you're going to put it on. Can you use more analogies or metaphors to make complex concepts easier to understand related to your topic? Can you use more humor or wit to make this section more entertaining? Use more descriptive language to create a vivid picture in somebody's mind, use more active voice and fewer passive voice constructions to make this section more engaging, adjust the vocabulary to be more accessible or simpler for a broader audience, and then vary the sentence length and structure to create more rhythm and flow, more storytelling or narrative elements to engage. Use more vivid sensory language to create a more immersive experience. Rewrite a section so it's more accessible to non-native speakers or those with language barriers. Then my favorite is rewrite this in a way that doesn't feel so the thing I don't like. Those are just some examples, but the idea here is to get you thinking strategically and how you are going to continue that conversation with AI in order to really curate. Obviously these aren't the only ways to prompt it, but you can see how it's being specific in the request to be specific. Now I'm going to give you 15 examples of instructions that you can respond to in order to add onto the previous content. Provide additional resources or recommended reading for whatever topic you had already input. Then we have, provide a detailed step-by-step or how to for applying information in the previous section, give more context for, and then a specific concept or term. Provide more information on the history of a background of a certain topic or section, address alternative perspectives on the topic, offer practical tips to implement the advice given in a certain section, connect to this point to a broader trend or issue to understand its significance in a larger context, and then you can also ask questions rather than instruct. Can you provide more examples of a concept or topic in action? Summarize the main takeaways or key points of this content. That's great if you write a long blog post or something like that, and you need to be able to condense all of that information quickly. I love a summarization. Connect this point to other relevant topics or fields to provide a more comprehensive understanding, offer a critique or analysis of the point made in the previous section to provide a more well-rounded perspective, provide actionable steps to apply the knowledge gained in the previous section, add more statistics or data to support a topic in the previous section. Can you address any common misconceptions or myths related to your topic to provide a more accurate picture? Provide more depth on the pros and cons of the point made in the previous section to provide a more nuanced view. You have more control than you might realize, and the more that you use AI language models, the more efficient you will become. Now that you better understand how to both adjust data input and results so that they are more effective along with specific add-on instructions, we will move into our next lesson and quickly overview important best practices to use when importing data into AI so that you can continue getting accurate and useful results. 11. AI Best Practices: This is a quickie. I'm going to highlight all the key points to keep in mind as you're venturing into the very wild landscape of AI. I want you more than anything, to feel confident that you're well on your way to building the skills that you need to incorporate the best practices to get the most relevant and accurate results. Keep these best practices in mind each and every time they use AI. First and foremost, before sending data, clean and preprocess it. Basically that just means eliminate anything that could confuse Ai. This includes stuff that isn't relevant or not being specific, using a different format or type that maybe doesn't reflect the market or audience that you want to reach. When we clean that data, we are refining it and we're organizing it to ensure that the AI gets the right information to work with. Leave out any fluff or filler text that isn't necessary for it to understand the objective and to provide us with the meaningful results that we need. Only use data that is relevant and specific, vague, or generic data will not provide as accurate results as data that is specifically designed for the task. A great way to ensure that the data that you use is of a consistent format and type is to combine multiple sources of data into a single format that it can better understand. To make sure that the output of the AI is producing the results, continue to tweak and adjust it so that it improves the results for you. This is an important step of the process. It's going to help you ensure that you get those accurate effective results. Most importantly, utilize AI alongside a human experience. It is an exceptionally potent tool. However, it should be used in coordination with your unique human perspective and expertise to get ahead in your long game. By combining that power of AI and your human experience, you can create powerful results. Now if you haven't already, be sure to grab your work book that includes all of those customizable templates designed to help you get the most out of your experience with AI. You can kick-start a variety of projects including what we've gone over in this class, but so many more as well. As you use AI to boost your projects to the next level, please remember to share your work, your process, your results. I know I want to see your class project. I know I want to see what you end up doing with it, but I also know it's going to be fascinating to others who are also learning to best optimize their AI skills. I can't wait to see how this technology lifts us to a whole new potential that we never knew we would experience. I will see you soon. [MUSIC]
