1. Class Introduction: Hi, I'm John. She be on watercolor artist
and illustrator from Vietnam. And welcome to my
Skillshare class. Hello bows, a symbol
of love and hope. And in today's class, Let's been a four
leaf clover together. During the lesson, I
will teach you how to create a glowing effect
on the bike route. In watercolor. Voted Nick, you can apply

2. Tools and Materials: Now let's talk about the
materials we use for this class. In order to paint in watercolor, we need first, you
need the color. And I often use this box of Winsor and
Newton watercolor painting. It is a standard 24 colors, but I also put some colors I purchased individually

this simple pending. You don't need that many colors. I think just about
a standard bops. 12 or 24 colors is
enough for this pending. Besides pens, we need paper. And for this painting, I use about home artists,
watercolor paper. It is 100, cotton. And for my home, in particular, we have academy is red
and our tastes great. And at this rate is better
than academy or student read. But I think overall, the quality of the student
grade watercolor paper from Bao home is quite good and
the price is very cheap. In my, in my personal opinion, I think the quality about home artist grade paper
is similar to AP chest. But the price, it just wow, 60% of our chest. And that is a part
that I don't have to use masking tape
to tape it down, but it is okay if your chest, which is the loss sheet of
paper and then you need some board and then you tap it down before pending
on a sketching. Then you also need brushes for this painting in particular, only need to brush. So this one is a
traditional mock brush. We use a square root so
it is suitable to pin the back round and round brush. That is a travel brush
from a Skoda for SO2. So it is more suitable
to paint the details. And you might use, one, can use round brushes. I think I'm only use
one brush is enough, but it's maybe more
convenient if you have a smaller brush to
paint, smaller details. And then we need
a pencil sketch. I use a ceramic disc to mix with the color
that you can just use. The violet up this out with
a colored box to mix colors. And I use that is some containers
to hold water. That is a set of containers
I purchased from an Asda. But you can just feel one
or two cups of water. And that's enough for this
project is very important. We need masking fluid. Some wie watch. I am using plastic color because it is more
difficult to purchase. Watch color. Got you. Watch pain in my hometown. And then we need some tower. The cloth towel is optional bet for this

tissue, paper, towel, then an eraser. To erase. Eraser is a friend of
this pencil and my own. So knit this small
piece of eraser. I use it to remove
masking fluid, but if you don't have it, it's okay you can remove
masking fluid by hand. And I think one

use the masking fluid. It is in the pen the

to apply masking fluid. But if you just purchase a
bottle of masking fluid, you can use other tones such as brush or silicone

3. Drawing the Outline: I use this photo as a reference
photo for today spending. For novel. It is just a simple
painting or drawing, so you can just draw it
from your imaginary. But I also attach this photo and my drawing to the

scan if you want. But for this demonstration, I mean, just draw it by hand. Because the HS, a

4. Applying Masking Fluid: So before filming this class, I have a pin this

5. Painting the Background: It is relatively dry now, so I think it is okay to paint the background for
painting bike route. One note you need
to remember is, when repeat the colors
we plan to you. In the main subject,

this painting in particular, I plan to make one lift up
this Glover in the pink color, in the rose color to make
it more interesting. So when painting back route, instead of just
putting the wind, the brow here, I mean, we still put some

a very light yellow. Yellow is very safe color to pin on the bike route
on the under layer, because it is safe
to mix with green, it just makes it more greener. So, I mean, Mark the
background area by using this very light yellow. It is okay to turn

bag is more colorful, so I will add more hookers, green to neutralize it. I think I am satisfied this one. So now we need to wait
for the paint to dry.
6. Creating the Glowing Effect: Dry now, so I will remove
the masking fluid. I will use this erase eraser
to remove masking fluid. It is not the same. The eraser I used to
remove the pencil line. If it is a special eraser, it is specialized to
remove masking fluid, but it is okay if you
don't have this one, you can just remove
using your hand. But just to make sure
your hand is clean before using it to remove
the masking fluid. Use it to remove this tea pot. So it's cleaner. Now, I hate to create a glowing
effects like in this one. So we need to be pair of
paper towel and one fresh. So it is easy. You just need to write this. And it wouldn't see the
y dot is glowing now. I mean, start with on

7. Painting the Clover: So let's look at the

8. Splash Effect: I think its own dry now. So now I mean, it

9. Painting the Feather: Its own dry now and
