Apps and Text to Image: Since the majority of the features we will discuss next are paid features. From this video to the end of the course, I will be using a Va pro account and leader a Canva for Tm account. In this chapter, we will focus on various Canva features, dulized AI or artificial intelligence technology. In this video, we will first discuss how to work with apps in Canva. And then discuss I feature called text to image on a project work space. In a panel on left side, you can see a tab called Apps. Basically, an app is an online application other than Canvas main app. Most of these online apps are made by third parties, but some of them are also created by the Va team. Some of the apps seen here are text to image, QR code, Google Drive, Youtube, and so on. In general, for third party apps, you must be registered or have an account with the app in order to use it. For example, if you want to publish your designs to Instagram directly from Canva, then you need to activate the Instagram app. You will be required to enter your Instagram username and password for the feature to work. You can activate more than one app. Each app to activate will have its logo or icon displit at the bottom of the panel on the left side. This way, the next time you need to access an app feature, you can simply click on its icon here without having to search for it again. In the app step, if you no longer use a particular app, you can remove it from this panel by first selecting the icon, then press the small symbol in the top left corner. That is how we work with apps in Canva. Now let's discuss an app called Text to Image. This is not a third party app, but an app developed by Canva or at least under Canvas Brand. You can find it at the top area of the apps tab. If you cannot find it, you can use the search feature by typing text to image. Once it appears you can click on it. This will make its icon displayed in the lower area of the panel. Since this app is still part of the Canva ecosystem, you can use it right away without having to log in or create a separate account. As the name suggests, this app can create images for us based on the text we input. Now let's discuss how to use this text image feature or app. The interface of this app can be divided into three parts. The top part is the area where we input the text or prompt. The second part is for determining the style of image we want to create. To see more style options, you can press the CL button. Just choose which style you want to use. Just for example, I choose a style called watercolor in the Or left section. We can choose the aspect ratio where the mage is, square, landscape or portrait. Let's create an image by typing in a prompt. If you don't have any ideas, you can ask Canva for help by pressing this button. Prompt will be generated for you randomly. If you do not like to prompt, just press the button again to create a new one. For now, I want to create a picture of an astronaut. I type in this field astronaut. Then to process the text into an image, you need to create your image button below Program. Usually need a few seconds or minutes to create the image. Once the process is complete, you are given not just one result, but for images at once. You are free to use all of them if you wish, or choose just one or a few of them. Alternatively, if you're still not satisfied with the results, you can press the Creta Gain button below the AI program will create new images using the same text prompt. For now, let's say we are satisfied with this image. Click or simply click on the image to use it. Now the image is already placed in our project. You should note that all images you use from the text to image feature be automatically safe by Canva in the uploots folder. Other generated images that you don't use will not be safe in the uploots folder. 3. Removing backgrounds: One of the most common uses of graphic software that people often need is to remove backgrounds from images. V provides an AI based tool for this task called Background Remover. Just for one example, we can use this Abstronaut cat image from the previous lesson. At first glance, this cat image has no background. But if we select the page background element and change its color, we can see that this image actually has a background in white. To use the background remover feature, you need to select the graphic element at an open the edited photo panel. Remember, this feature only works on Ster images and not on vector images. You will not be able to access the added photo panel if the selected element is vector type. All right, once the edited photo panel is open, press the button that says BG remover. The AI program will get to work detecting the image and remove the area of pixels that it considers to be the background. Now the image around this astrono cat has been erased or made transparent. This cat image is probably too easy for an example. For complex images, sometimes the AI program struggles to determine area is the background and which area is the main object we want to keep. Let's try this Cowboy Catus image. Unlike the cat image we created using the text image, I, I created this Catus image manually using an open source software called Rita. Let's assume that we only want to remove the sky area. We can try applying the background remover by pressing the button. This is the result we get. The entire sky area is removed as we expected. However, some of the ground area was also removed Personally, because I have the original Creta file, which still has the image in separate layers, I could easily hide the sky layer if I wanted to. But let's pretend that we do not have the original file, or we can assume that this is a photo that we took using a camera. We have an image consisting of only one layer. In such a case, we can still further edit the initial result of the ground remover. To do that, we can press this button again. With this panel, you can manually add or subtract areas of the image. You can remove areas with the S mode and add or restore them with the restore mode. For example, we want to restore the ground area, activate the restore mode, then you can adjust the size of the brush with this slider, then just draw on the area that you want to restore. This is the result so far. Now let's assume that we want to restore the left rope that is spinning in the air. For more detailed tasks like this, you may need to get familiar with the navigation techniques in this panel to zoom in and out, you can turn the scroll wheel up or down. Then while in zoom condition, you can pen a canvas around by click ragging using the middle mouse button. You need to keep in mind that the canvas panning operation only applies when zoomed in. Zoomed out, the image is fully visible and centered automatically. Therefore, we cannot perform pending navigation. Let's first reduce the size of the brush to above the thickness of the rope. Then for this process, I recommend that you enable the show original image option. This way we can still see the original image. Then just draw a line following the direction of the rope. I know that the result will not be perfect because the area of the rope rotating in the air has a motion blur effect. I intentionally added the effect when creating it in Creta. But at least with this example, you understand how to edit the result of the background remover further. If there are any access areas, you can switch to the ser mode and on the area you won't remove. After you are done, simply press this back arrow button to exit. If you are not satisfied with the result and want to restore the image to its original state, you can open the editing mode again, then press the rest background button below. 4. Magic Eraser and Magic Edit: In this lesson video, we will discuss two more AI features related to rafter image editing called magic eraser and magic edit. We can use magic eraser to remove certain objects from the image. For example, I have placed a photo of a flower arrangement on a can. Then on the next page, I placed a photo of some food ingredients. I got both of these photos from canvas library. You can search and use the same photo or feel free to use a different one. Now let's say I want to remove this yellow round flower. Make sure the element is selected upon the added photo panel. Then press the magic eraser button. You can adjust the brush size with the slider. After that, just make a stroke that covers the object you want to erase. When you release the Most button, the AI program will immediately get to work. Basically, it will fill the stroke area with appropriate content. Perhaps this image is an easy one for the AI to process. Let's try something more difficult using the next photo. Now what we want to erase is this entire bowel of olives. Before select image first, in the added photo panel, we click on the magic eraser button. Make a stroke that covers the entire area of the bowel. It is okay if we make it bigger than we need to let go and wait for the result. As you can see that the magic eraser feature is quite smart in detecting objects and being able to erase them seamlessly. The next AI feature is magic edit. We can use this feature to replace an object with another object or add a new object to an image. We can think of this feature as a combination of magic eraser and text image features. Now if you previously applied Arai features such as magic eraser or background remover to the image, you will need to reset it first. For this magic edit feature to work, make sure the image is selected. Then in the edit photo panel, you can perhaps the magic edit button. I think I need a bigger brush to make the process faster. As before, we need to create a brush stroke to define the area we want to process. Let's say we want to turn this area into a rose. Just imagine where the roses will be and cover that area with the brush strokes. After that, the continued button. Next we need to write a prompt that describes the object we want to put in a brush stroke area. Since I want some roses, I just type roses. Then perhaps the Generate button. Our image will be processed, similar to the previous text image feature. We will be presented with four different results. Just choose which one you like, then press the done button to confirm or press cancel if you want to cancel it. Let's try an even harder challenge using the image. On the next page, select the image and activate the magic edit panel. Canva will give us a warning message as we have already applied another AI feature to this image. We can select the magic edit option to undo the previous edits. Let's increase the brush size first and make some brush trucks in the center area. Press the continued button. Let's say we want to replace the bread in the center with a pizza. Press the Generate button and wait for the result. I think I'll prefer this one. Let's click Done. For now, you should know that we can apply the magic added feature multiple times to an image. We can even stack them on top of each other. Just for example, I can add more brush trucks on top of the pizza that the AI generated before. Try to imagine the silhouette of the object you want to add. Press Continue, then type a big fish. Then press the Generate button. Here are the four image results. I don't think anyone will want to eat a pizza with a big fish on top of it like this. But at least with this example, you know how to use the feature and can experiment with it further. 5. Magic Write: In this video and then the next, we will discuss two AI features related to writing. They are magic, right, and translate. For now, we will focus on the magic write feature. Basically, magic write is an AI feature, the can write text content for us. You can think of it as your personal writing assistant or August writer. Magic write is available on all types of projects on Canva. However, since it can generate quite long text, it will be more convenient to try the feature. In a Canva project, you can start a new project or open an existing one to use magic right. Simply press this button, then select the magic right option. Or if you prefer to use a keyboard shortcut, just press the fourth symbol on your keyboard. Make sure the active option is magic right. Then press Enter. From here, you can write your prompt. You can use normal human language as if you are talking to your own assistant. If you don't have any ideas yet and need to see some examples for prompts, you can press this button. Each time you press it, Vo will generate another example prompt that you can try for. Now, let's say we want to write an article about the Keto diet. I already prepared a text of the record which is these five most important things to lose weight based on Kro diet. After typing the prompt, you can press the Generate button. This is the result. Besides writing the content from scratch, magic write can also work on pre existing text. But before that I want to make all these texts into plain text. Not a numbered list or bulleted list. All right, If you select a text, then press this plus button again. There are several options that you can choose from. You can summarize the selected text, or you can expand it further by making it longer and more detailed. Or rewrite the text in another writing style. Or you can also use the selected text as a prompt. Let's first try the summarized option. In this case, the result is not much different in length from the original text. Maybe it is because the original text is already short. Now let's try selecting this paragraph. Then we use the expand option. As you can see, a longer version of the text appears, which gives a more detailed explanation of the content. What is unique about the magic right feature is that it supports 20 languages in the world, including my native language, which is Vasa, Indonesia. Just for example, I can press the four again, then enter. Then I type the prompt directly in Indonesian chara manambalbarmobile, which means how to patch a car tire in English. After typing in the prompt, you can press Control Enter as a shortcut for the generate command. Here is the result, the text content in Indonesian. Please be aware that the AI program is not always able to provide profit content. But at least we can use the result as a starting point to develop further. All right, next let's look at how to use magic right, on project types other than Canva docs. If you are in a common design project to access magic, right, you don't need to create a tax element first. Just press the button on the bottom right called Canva Assistant. You can also press the forward slash symbol on your keyboard to open it. Then select the magic right option. Let's say we type five steps to a millionaire. Then press control Enter. Here is the result. You can see that in a normal design project, V automatically creates a text element to contain the result generated by the magic right AI. From here, you can addit the text further or perhaps change the size and phone type, and so on. 6. Using the Translate App: In this video, we will discuss the second text related AI feature called Translate or Translate app. Because it is actually an app, essentially, its main function is to translate design pages from one language to another. Since this feature works on a page by page basis, it is only available for project types that have pages. Unfortunately, doc does not have pages. This feature is not available for Vdc projects, at least not yet at the time of recording this video. Hopefully, this limitation will be resolved in future versions of Canva for now. In order to practice using this feature, I will open a regular type of design project, which is the toy store Instagram post that we created earlier. I have prepared these two designs of the record. I didn't create both of them from scratch, but I got them from Canvas template library. The first design is advertisement for stress management. The second one is an advertisement for recreational cycling. Let's say you're happy with the design and the text content. The problem is that the text is written in English, while your target audience does not speak English. For example, they are Indonesian. This is where the translate app feature can help. Since it is basically an app, You can activate it just like any other app. You can see that the app is already on my left panel. Let me close it first so I can show you how to activate it. First, we need to open the app step. Then scroll down to the morphom canvas section. You'll see the translate app icon here. If you cannot find the icon, you can try the search feature by typing the word translate. When you see the icon, simply click on it to activate it. The app now appears or listed in the last panel below. From now on, whenever you need to translate a page, you can simply open the app here without having to go looking for it again in the app step above. Okay, let's try to translate this to designs. Generally, you can't just let this translate from parameter in the auto option. The AI program is smart enough to recognize what language your reason is in. You only need to set this parameter in cases where there are many words in one language that are similar to another. To anticipate this kind of detection error, you can manually set the original language in this parameter. Since our designs are in plain English with no complicated words, it is safe to just let the AI detect it automatically. Then we need to set the target language. Since I basa indonsia besides English, I choose Indonisian. You may choose another language that you understand so that later you can confirm the translation result. Next, we have to determine which pages of the design project that we want to translate. We only want to translate pages 6 and 7. Make sure all page options are off except 6.7 After that press done, then the translate button. Wait for a while and we have the results. As you can see, V inserted a new pitch to place the translation next to each of the pages we specified before. The first result looks good. We don't need to change anything else. But the second design still needs some fixing. First, the order of these two text is reversed. The word ptolgan should be above or before the word vers peda. The translation of the text element is already good. We just need to adjust the size and lay out a bit to make it easier to read. Now for this text, there is a translation error. The meaning of book here should be daftar or registrasi, not boko. As a physical book, I double click on it and change the text to daphtarscaran. I can make it bigger, maybe around nine to ten points. I also want to enlarge the black box behind it so that the text fit better. I know that many of these corrections only makes sense if you understand as Indonesia. But basically, no matter what your target language is after the translation process, you may want to check the resulting text and addit the layout here and there to fix it. This is because each language has different tendencies of text length and also because I translation process is not always accurate. 7. Collaboration methods: Starting from this video and for the next few videos, we will discuss various online collaboration techniques in Canva. We have touched on some of the features a few times before, but we haven't had the chance to discuss them in more detail. As a micro overview, Canva provides two methods for online collaboration. The first method is the collaboration link method, and the second is what I call the selective people method. If you open the shared menu, this is the area to use the collaboration link method and this is the area to use the selective people method. You need to remember that these two methods are not optional. That is, you are free to use both at the same time if you wish. Let's discuss these two methods in more detail. The first method is the collaboration link method. With this method, it is as if we are opening up access to our reason project to the public. Essentially, Va will create a special link for our design project and anyone who has the link, we'll be able to access it. This can be very useful if we are a teacher or lecturer, for example, and need to share course materials with many students at once. The link created by Canva is not an easy link to memorize. Most likely the people who will open the link are people to whom we intentionally provide the link information, whether it is via e mail or other media. Nevertheless, it is still possible that link information gets linked to other parties that we do not want. We can set whether other people can only see or view the project or can give comments or even edit design project. What is unique about this method is that the person we give access to through the link is not required to have a Canva account. V will automatically create an account for them temporarily with a generic user name and profile picture. This kind of account is commonly referred to as a guest account. Just for example, I use the Need option, then press Copy Link. Now the link or URL has been copied into the system's memory. I can open another browser, for example H, and activate the in private mode. With this mode will consider me as another person or an unknown person. Press control V two page the URL. We need to accept the privacy policies first. As you noted above, there are now two people editing this design project. One is my original account or Videmutakin. The second is this guest account by new name Tiger. Again, this name and profile photo are automatically generated by Canva randomly. For this session only, you should note that all of this design collaboration process happens in real time. If I go back to my application window, as the video account make a selection like this in a window belonging to the tiger account, the text being selected by Dy is also visible. In vice versa, if tiger makes a text selection, it is also immediately reflected in Di's application window. The limitation of Us accounts is that you can only utilize features that are free or equivalent to a Canva free account. For example, the tiger account can add these three graphics to the canvas, but he cannot use the prosign elements that have the crown symbol. Now if it turns out that this tiger is actually a pro or vote user, then he needs to log in first so that Canva can recognize him. When a user logs into Canva, he is no longer considered a guest account. So he can utilize Canva according to his account level or plan. The second method is selective security wise. This method is better because basically we give access only to the people we invite. The method is very easy. You can press this plus button or do one here, or directly type e mail in this box. If there are multiple people or e mails, you can separate them with a comma. When you send the invitation, you can specify the level of access, whether can only view, comment, or edit the design. You can write your own custom E mail message in this field, this is optional because if not, Va will create the message for you. For now, please do not enable this team option, it send button. When Canva offers to create a team, let's just ignore it. By closing the window, I will explain the team feature in a moment. The people you invite will get an e mail like this. They can directly open design project in Canva by pressing the button below. Unlike the previous link method, this srctive people method does not support guest accounts. In case the people we invite do not have a Canva account, the first time they open the invitation link, they will be asked to create their account first. Similar to the first method, the future capabilities of the people you invite will be emitted according to their respective account types or plans. If they only have a free account, then they will only be able to use the free features. One of the advantages of the obstructive people method is that it can make use of the canvas team feature. Essentially, a team is a special canva account, you can have multiple members. We will cover this in more depth in an upcoming lesson. In general, if you have created a team, you don't have to bother inviting all the members one by one. Just type in the team name and we'll automatically invite all of its members. Let's summarize our discussion in this video. In terms of convenience, the collaboration link method is easier for us to do because we don't need to invite other people one by one, we just need to show or share the URL. In terms of security, the selective people method is much safer because only people we directly invite can access or design project in terms of the guest account feature, the collaboration link method supports it while the selective people method does not. The best one is in terms of work team management. The selective people method supports the use of them, while collaboration link does not. Then regardless of the collaboration method, everyone can access canvall features according to their respective account types. Finally, two methods are not optional. You can use both at the same time if you want to. A commonly used scenario is that for the destructive people method, you can allow others to edit your design project, whereas for the collaboration link method you only want to grant viewing access. 8. Creating a Team: In this video, we will discuss how to create a team in Canva. Simply put, a team is a special Canva account that can consist of more than one person or member. With the team feature, its members will have a shared workspace that can make it easier for them to collaborate. Now at first glance, you might think that this team feature can only be created by paid accounts at the Va team level. This is not true. You can create a team if you are on a Va pro plan or even if you are on a Va free plan. So again, you can turn any type of account into a team account. But of course, a team account at the free tier will be limited to using Canva free features only. The same concept also applies to Canva Pro and Canva for team users. We will discuss the feature differences gradually along the way. For now, we will first discuss how to create a theme in Canva and also the basic settings. When we are on the main page of Canva, we can see the word personal up here. This indicates that the Canva account we are currently using is in private or personal mode. To create a theme, there are two different paths that you can take. You want to convert your current personal account into a team account, or you want to create a new account as a team account. If you want to convert your current personal account into a Team account, you can do so by clicking the Create a Team button below. I personally prefer to create a Team account separate from my personal account. For this, you can open the account setting screen by pressing this Gekon. Then open the billing end print tab, scroll all the way down. Then you can press this button, create a new them. Not that this button has the word new. I like the button on a main page which only says create a theme. The button here says create a new team. Just click the button. Next, we need to specify a name for this team account. Just for example, I'm calling this Expose graphics. Then we can determine how other people can join this team. If we don't want others to be able to request or ask to join, we do not choose these two options. Instead, choose the third one. With this option, only the people we invite can join the team. Click this button to continue. Since we are basically create a new account. Canva will offer this team account to subscribe to Canvas newsletter. Let's just click not Now, hit the Let's Go button. Now I am using a new team account called Expos Graphics to swap accounts or return to my personal work space. I can click this button, then Personal, now I'm back to my original workspace or account. The point is if we join or create more than one team, we will see unable to switch teams using this pull down list, or you can just tap on your photo in the top right and the team name you want to activate if you are in a team work space, then open the setting screen. You will find the name of the active team here. Below it, you can find the Team details tab. Here you can change the name of the team. Then you can give it a description. If your team already has a lot of members, you can hand over ownership of the account to your colleague by pressing this change on button. Next in the People tab, you can invite other people to become your team members. You can press this button, or you can press this button. Just for example. I'll enter some of my other e mails. The first is Blast code@gmail.com The second is Expos Academy@gmail.com Right now you can see that my account has the role of owner of the ex post graphics team account, the other two arduous members. As the owner, I have the authority to do members. Now if you have a lot of members, you might want to use another feature provided by Canva Group. Basically, we use groups to subdivide our members into smaller groups. Suppose the team account is your company. We can think of the groups as the departments within the company. I don't have many members, so I don't really need this group feature. The last thing I want to discuss is this Manage Team tab. You can see that my personal account is actually considered as a team account by Canva, that is a team with the name Personnel, which has only one member. I know that this can be a bit confusing, but that is so Canva manages its user accounts. And there is also the reason why I prefer to create a new team account separated from my personal account. 9. Working with a Team: Now that we have learned how to create a team, we will discuss various methods of collaboration between team members. To be able to share a project with the team. There are two conditions that you need to fulfill. The first is that the design project needs to be in a team work space. And the second is that you need to share the project with the team. If these two conditions are not met, then the project cannot be accessed by your team. The team workspace in Kenva is unique in that each team member seems to have their own private room. Even though they create their project inside the team work space, it is not automatically accessible to other members. Only after the project has been shared by the creator. Is it available to other team members. Just for example, in the exposed graphics team work space, I have created these three presentation projects from templates provided by Canva. Although this is a team work space, other members of the team will not be able to see these projects in their projects folder. To share a project with other team members, you can click on the person ship icon. If you belong to multiple teams, you will see a list of the teams here. Right off the team's name, you can see the access level. By default, every new project will have its access level set to share. To share the project, simply change the access level to can edit. Then just close the window. Now every member of the exposed graphics team can access this project. Apart from the main page, you can also share your project. While on work screen, just press this plus button or you can also open the share panel first, then press this plus button. The rest is similar to before. Just change your team's access level for the project. Can edit. Okay, let me go back to the main page in the ex post graphics work space in the projects folder. You can see that these two projects are shared, while this one is not. Projects that are shared with the team will have the logo or initials of the team name attached to the project timnail. Now I will try logging in with the account of another team member using the Blastocode email. Currently, my workspace is the ex post graphics team. If I open the projects folder, I can only see two projects that were shared by Id's account, while projects that are not shared by D are not visible, let alone accessible. As for the projects that have been shared with the team, I can open an edit them as if they are my own projects. If I make changes to the projects, they will be reflected directly on accounts of other team members. All right, let me go back to my original account, which is Di mu takin. At this point, you might be wondering what if we have already created a design project in a personal account. Can we share it with a team? The answer is yes, we can. For example, I have this design project in my personal account. To make this project accessible to the expos graphics team, we can first click on this dotted button, then select Copy to another team option. You'll see a list of your teams here. Since I am only registered to one team, there is only one team visible here, which is ex post graphics, select the team, then press the copy button. Basically. At this point, we're not moving the project to another account, rather we are copying or duplicating it to the expos. Graphics teams work space. Basically, the original project file is still safe in my personal account. All right, Now let me switch to the post graphics team work space. The project that we copied earlier is already in a Team Projects folder. But remember, there are two requirements to share a project with all team members. And we have only fulfilled one condition, which is to make the project available in a team work space. The next requirement is that we need to set the team access level. Two can edit so that other members can access it. One collaboration feature we have uncovered yet is commenting. When a project has been shared with the whole team, whether with or can come in edit access level, then all team members can comment on a project. Commenting is pretty straightforward. You need to select the element you want to comment on, then press the icon that looks like a speech bubble here. You can type in the comment. For example, revise this if you want to mention other member. You can type in an app symbol, or you can press this icon, then just the member you are referring to. Then in its comment text field, you can also enter various types of images, also stickers. After you are done, you can press the comment button to confirm, or if you wish to cancel it, you can press the cancel button. 10. Creating a Brand Kit: Starting from this video, we will discuss brand management features in Canva. Now we will focus on creating and utilizing brand hits. Before we get into the details, let's standardize our definition of brand to make things simple. A brand is a business identity that is used consistently in a marketing process. It can include a business name or trademark, logo color scheme, phone type, and so on. Let's assume that this is the definition of brand that we agree on next. But is a brand kit in canvas term. A brand kit is a feature that helps gather all of our brand assets in one place, making it easier for us and or art members to access. You should note that the brand kit is not available on Canva free accounts. While it is available on personal Cavo Pro accounts, most people will probably utilize it at the Cava Fort Moco level. For example, my personal account is currently Pro. I can access the Brand Kit feature by pressing this brain button. As you can see, all the brand Ket options are accessible to me because I am using a Canva Pro account. We will discuss how to use this leader for now. If I go back out and switch to the ex post graphics team work space. Currently, the ex post graphics team account is at the free tier. If I go to the brand tab, I will be asked to upgrade this Stemco to Canva for them. Again, I need to remind you that even if you create a team, the team is not automatically on the Va four teams tier. However, a team at the free tier cannot access the branded feature. For the purpose of creating this course, I will change the exposed graphics Tm tier to Canva four teams for make use of the free trial version that lasts for 30 days. I'm skipping the video to save time. Now that we have the required account level, let's see how we can create a brand kit in Canva. First, we need to go to the brand screen. Here you can see three tabs. Make sure you are in the brand. Canva gives us the option to create more than one brand kit. This can be useful if we work for multiple clients with different brands or if we have more than one business, each with its own brand. For now, let's just open this empty brand kit that Canva has created. The first thing you need to do is give your brand kit a unique name. I don't have a branding asset for ex post graphics yet for the example. In this lesson I'll just use the brand for my other business called Edutalenta. I name this one Edutalenta. Next we can upload image files for the logo. I have many files for the Edutalenta logo, each of which has a different function. All these logos are created using Obulustrator software. Just like all the files you want to upload. Then press the open button. Next in the color of section, we can specify the color palette or the official color scheme of the Edutalenta brand. You can add colors manually by pressing the plus button, just like the color you want. You can add more than one color if needed. To remove a color you don't want, you can click on the symbol above the color box. Besides the manual method, you can also create a color scheme from presets provided by Canva. To do this, you can press the new button at the top, then select the ad palette option. Va provides tons of color presets that you can use. Since these presets have names, you can utilize the search feature above to search for specific keywords. For example, summer orchid, sunset, and so on. Alternatively, apart from the manual method and from the presets, you can also automatically extract colors from the logo image you uploaded. Just select the image, then click on this dotted button, Then select Logo Colors option. And here are the colors you can remove if you don't want to use them or press the key button to keep the colors. We can have multiple color pallets for our brand. Since I only need one color pallet, I can call the edutalina colors. Next in the phone section, you can specify different types of phones for your brand. I'll just use three examples in this video. To save time for the title and subtitle, I want to use the same phone as the logo, which is called Bu. You can also specify the phone size here if you want. Then for the body, I prefer to use open sense. That is how you can create a brand kit. Essentially, you just need to fill in various parameters and also upload image files that you will often use in your projects. I am sure you already understand the process. I'll skip the video to save time. Now let's look at how we can utilize the brand kit we have created. When working inside the project screen, there are many ways to access your brand. The most obvious one is by clicking on this brand tab. From here, you can click Brag, a logo image or any other image you have in a brand it directly to the canvas. You can also create te elements from this panel, or if you go to the text elements tab, Canva also creates a special category for your brand kit here. Next for using the color pallet. Most likely you do not want to use this from this brand panel, because if you press this, all the colors in your design will change if you press it again. Every time you do that can vo, randomly cycle through the colors. If this is what you want, that is fine. But generally, for colors, you want to access them from the color spanel. First, strike the element you want to edit, Then open the color spanel. You can see all the colors in our brand kit are displayed here. In conclusion, the brand kit feature can help your team work faster and more consistently in producing designs that match your business brand. 11. Creating Brand Templates: In this video, we will discuss how to create and use brand templates. We have used templates many times in the course. As a reminder, a template is ready made design project that we can use to start a new project. By using templates, we can save time because we don't have to create the design from scratch. I am sure you already know this. Now what is the brand template? Essentially, they are templates that are created and used by a team internally. Typically, these templates are made in reference to a particular brand. That is why they are called brand templates. You should note that the brand template feature is not available on Canva Pro, let alone Canva Free. Only Canva Fourtems accounts can utilize this feature. In fact, even with a team, only certain members are authorized to create brand templates. If you are in a team work space with the Canva Four Teams account level and open the account setting screen. In the People tab, you can see a list of team members as the owner. I can control each member's access by clicking on a pull down list on the right side. I can remove members from the team with this button. And above that I can upgrade the roles of ordinary members to brand designer or administrator. The reason I am now discussing membership roles is because there are only two types of members who can create brand templates. They are owner and brand designer. All members outside these two roles will not be able to create brand templates. All right, to create a brand template, you can start a new design project. Or you can open a project that you have created before. Just for example, I have created this design of the record, but before I opened the design, at the time I recorded this lesson cavo in the process of deleting a special folder called brand templates. This means that users will be free to store their brand templates in any folder they want. That is why I wanted to create a new folder in this team's work space. I call this folder Lutalenta Templates. As with project sharing, to share a folder with other team members, you need to set your team access level two. Can edit, then press Continue. Now we have the folder. Next, let's open the design project. Let's just assume that we created this design for online course product, Amnules. The design has a square ratio with the size of 1024 by 1024 pixels in the center. I deliberately use an empty frame element. The purpose is so that later other team members can easily insert images into it. To turn a design into a brand template, you need to open the Share button. As usual slick this brand template option. You can see this warning message from Canva. This is the reason why we've set up a special folder before called erutalenta templates. Click the button to use the folder. After that, press the published button. Now any member of the ex post graphics team can start a new project using the template we've just created. To do that, they need to open the brand tab. Then open the brand templates category and click on the template they want to use. Or another way is by going to the projects folder. Then open the erutalenta templates folder. Then click on a project tam nail. As usual, you can click on use this template button to start a new project utilizing the template, you also notice that there is an option to edit the original template file. However, this edit original button will only appear if you are the owner or a brand designer. 12. Brand Controls: In this video, we will discuss another feature related to branding called Brand Controls. Basically, we use the Brand Controls feature to impose certain restrictions on the members to ensure that the reason results are more in line with the branding that has been determined in a brand kit. Yes, this feature requires you to have a brand kit beforehand. And because of that, this feature requires you to have a canvas for teens plan to access this feature. You can go to the Brand tab and then open the Brand Controls category. As you can see, there are three restrictions you can apply here. Before you change anything, you should know that I can set brand controls because I am the owner of the expos graphics team. Besides the owner members that have access to brand controls are administrators and also brand designers. If you are just regular member, you will not see the brand controls interface. All right, now let's go through these three options. If you enable color control, then all the regular members of your team won't be able to choose colors except the colors you have specified in color palette in a brand kid. The same concept applies to the foreign control option. If this is on, then each regular member will not be able to freely choose a phone type. They will only be able to choose the phones found in a brand kit. The rest option is design approval. When this option is active, any regular member of your team will no longer be able to download or publish design projects without the approval of apps, approvers or team members that you authorize to review the designs that will be published to grant this authorization, you can press the small Girikan, then just like the member you want to authorize, I'll like my primary and secondary counts. Just for example, to apply the changes we need to press safe. Let's take a look at the other options in Settings window. In the Flexibility tab, you can set whether the approval from approvers is mandatory or only recommended. If it is only recommended, each member can still publish the design without the approval of the approvers. But if we set this to required, then every design project must go through the approval process to be published. You need to be careful with the setting as it will make things very restrictive. Enable this option just to show you how it would affect a typical member's workflow. Then in the conditions menu, you can also specify whether the approval process applies to all design projects without exception or only for certain brand templates. If you choose the second setting, then you need to set the option per brand templates. I will use the first option to make it easier. Now let's see how it is like to be a regular member. With all the rules we set in brand controls, I am now locked into Canva with my blast to cote account. Let's say I'm trying to create a design in this blind project, if I select an element and open the color spanel, as you can see, the only colors I can choose are the colors in the Edutalenta Brancat. Then when creating text, I can only choose the phone type that has been determined in a brand kit. Finally, when I open the share menu, there is no option to download or make the design available online. I have to get approval from one of the approvers first by clicking this button, or you can also press the button at the top. Then I can select one of the approvers and write a custom E mail message if needed, then press the same button. That was the experience of a regular member when creating a reason project under the brand controls. I open Canva again with my main account as an approval. On the main Canva screen, I can see a new tab called Design Approvals. Basically, this tab works like an inbox where I can see all the design approval requests from the members. I can click to view them. If there is still something that needs revision, I can click the review button, then provide comments as needed. Or if from looking at the preview image I am already satisfied with the design, I can press this quick approved button to approve it. 13. Swapping brand elements: One of the benefits of creating a brand kit in Canva is the ability to swap branding elements across multiple design projects at once. Because as we all know, companies like to change their branding regularly. For example, I have created three dummy projects, each of which uses one of the logos from the Erutalenta brand it. Indeed, if you only change three design projects like this, it's not too much trouble. But imagine you already have tens or even hundreds of design projects like this. If there is a branding change from your boss or your client. Of course, changing each of these design projects one by one will take a lot of time. The first step to swap branding elements is to open the corresponding brand Cat screen. Then you need to upload the new logo or branding image. For this example, I just use the Expose Academy logo. One thing you need to note for this process to work is that the old image or logo and the new one must have the same aspect ratio. Whatever the value does not matter as long as they are the same. What I mean by aspect ratio is do it divided by the height. In my case, the Edutalenta logo and the exposed Academy logo both have an aspect ratio of one, or in other words they are both perfectly square. All right. We need to click on the Dos button of logo. We want to replace the replace across designs canvas all the designs that use that logo. Va gives you the option to manually select the designs one by one with these check boxes. But if you want to select them all at once, just press Select All option. Then press the continued button. Here you can choose another logo that will replace the old one. Again, Canva will only show logos that have the same aspect ratio. Value. Logos that have different aspect ratio will not be shown in this list. Select the logo, then press the preview button. You can double check all your designs through the previews on this screen. Once you are satisfied, press the replaced button. Now, all designs that previously used the Edutalenta logo have been replaced with the Expos Academy logo. You may not see the changes immediately on the project's Staminls as that can take a while to process. But if you check the design, you can see that the logos have been swapped as we expected.
