2. Setting Up Canva Account: Now in this lesson
we are going to see how you can create
the Canva account. If you already have
the Canva account, you can skip this lecture. If not, the procedure
is pretty simple. Just go to, just go
to www.canva.com. Now you can create
a free account. You also have the plans
right here in which you can subscribe for pro version
Enterprise Education and non for profits. But we will cover that
difference between free and pro version
in the later videos. So right now we're just
sign up for a free account. So here's the option. Sign up for free. Let's click on it. And if you frequently
use Google, you can sign up from Google or you can continue
with Facebook. So I'll continue with Google. In here it is going to ask
you the ID and password. Let's mention are IID, click Next, the password next. Most of the times it is
already saved in your account. For verification, it will send you a verification
code sometimes. So here we have pasted
our verification gourd. And that's it. Once you sign up
for the account, they will ask your preference. What will you be using Panama
for? For personal use? Large companies,
teachers, small business, or a student or
non-profit or charity. For now, I'll select small
business and IT team name. You can write your team name. You can invite some
other team members and click on Create
team so that we, whatever you design, it can be shared between your
team members as well. So they're giving the message
of try Canva pro for free. I can try this for free
for 30 days as well. What will I get in this 100 million premium photos,
videos, and elements? 3,000 premium fonts,
610,000 premium templates. If you're working
professionally as a designer, you must subscribe for it. Stay organized, extra folders or 100 db storage they're giving. And you can cancel anytime. So you can start the
free trial as well. But I'll click on maybe later. And this is your brand
new account of Canva. So in the next
video, I'll show you the comparison
between what you will get in the free
version and what would you get in the pro version?
3. Diffrence Between Free vs Pro Version: Now let's learn
about the plants. If I go in Plans and Pricing, you can click on it directly
or you can just browse it. If I click on compare pricing, I will get all the
details right here. Free version is totally free, but you will get to
50,000 free templates, 100 plus design types, and five dB of cloud storage. You can invite your
team members and stuff. But this has very
limited functions. If you want to use
some stock photos, stock templates, talk
designs basically. But if you are a designer
and you are using completely for your own designs
and you have to picture collection
and icons collection. You don't need to subscribe
for the pro version. But for pro version, it comes
with a lot of facilities, like you already have the scheduled social
media content to it. Eight platforms. You can resize indefinitely by magic resizes some
additional tools. Are there the color schemes, logos, fonts, options are great. And it has the pricing
off $54.99 per year, and it can be used
for up to 5 ft. So that is great. If you talk about
per month charges, it's only 6.49, so you can
subscribe for that as well. So if we talk about the
difference, it is huge. Once we get started with it, you will feel that difference. That a lot of post, a lot of templates, lot of icons, shapes are available just
in the pro version. So only the basic templates are available in the free version. So the major difference you
can see is in this area, in this version,
the free version, you are getting 100
plus design types. The pro version, you are getting 100 million premium
stock photos, videos, and audio and graphics. Similarly, if we talk
about the templates, 610,000 plus premium and free
templates are available. So if you're a designer and even if you are a
marketer that is using the Canva to design
their regular post, marketing post on Facebook, then I recommend you to
definitely go for pro version. It has a lot of features. So for this training, there is no harm to go with the free version because you
can always upgrade later on. And the most of the
functions that we will be discussing is available in
the free version as well. Because the functionality
will remain the same, right? So this is the basic
difference between the pro version and the
free version in Canva.
4. Home Screen Introduction About the Interface: Okay, Now this is the
home screen that you will get when you first
log in to Canvas. Now the design. Now the design and templates
might be literally different from when I'm recording this video and
when you are seeing it, because the software or the
website keeps on changing, but the function should
remain the same. So right now, I'm recording on grainy second of July 2022. So if you are
watching this video, sometimes it in the future, then your template or your
interface might be different. So if he talks about
the home screen, what you will get by default. On the left-hand side there
is on navigation pane, which is by default
on the home screen. On the home screen, you have the search option that if you want to search out
from the templates, are particular design, e.g. you do banner or
a Facebook post. You can get some
templates about it. You can also get some template, videos or presentations
as you like. And their sum also suggested
templates down there. Now, if we scroll down, the most popular templates
are shown up here. Also, your recent designs, if you have created any. Right now, we're
under new accounts, so there are no designs
to show up here. And if we change it from
home tab two templates, Let's see what we get. You can get the option of all the templates
to browse from. You can choose the
category of business, social media, video
marketing, and custom prince. Also, some educational
templates are down here. If we click further down here, you will get some
further options like flashcards, storyboard,
comic strips. So that's about it
from the templates. And the most widely used
options that we will use in Canva is the search option and the
create design option. Now what the create
design option offers is very interesting. Let's see if I click on it. The suggested ones are video presentation,
Instagram post, logo, Facebook post,
and other things. If you are working on YouTube, you can simply write here
YouTube and you will get all the suggestions regarding
the YouTube templates, e.g. YouTube banner channel logo. You can create your
profile pictures, you can create your
shorts, titles, thumbnails, so on and so forth. So these are some of
the basic options. Now also, when you
click on search, you will get two
areas to switch from. Either you can choose from the default templates
that you have. Or if you switch the
tap, two projects, you will find the projects are designs that
you have created. So e.g. now, if I select
and write Instagram, you will get the options
like Instagram Live, Instagram grid, post,
portrait, and landscape, both. And these are some suggested
templates as well. If we browse further
into these templates, you can click on see all. So there are a couple of templates that is available
for the free version. Obviously, if you're subscribed
for the pro version, you will get a lot more. So you can choose from these and you can
further customize it. Some of them even are
showing in the pro version. Right now, only this post is available in
the free version. If you want to switch
back to the homepage, you can click on the
homepage from here, or you can click on the
Canvas icon to go back. Now the most important
thing is you can design anything you
think of in Canva, e.g. if you just want to
design your resume. So you will just write
resuming here and you will get a lot of resume templates that
are available for free. You just have to
select that template. Just make sure that it is not in the pro version or
the paid version, which is indicated here. Let's see, this is
my free version. Let's click on it. And there it is. Now, it is available
in the Edit mode. You can change the title, you can change the
profile picture and all the details to
customize that for you. You can also change the
color scheme if you like. So this is just one example. Let's say if you want to design a flyer for your business. So this time let's write flyer. So you have the option of
designing the Business Flyer, the real state school flyers. You can choose
from any template, from thousands of
options available. And that's the
power of this app. So you can see here this
is a Business webinar, can split off a business flyer. So professionally designed
and it is available for free. Now one more thing that is
super important in Canva. Sometimes you need
a custom size for your banner or for
your any flex. Our four-year any
business design, e.g. print cards or something. So in that case, if you are unable to find the
standard template size, you can set the custom
size of your own. You can just click on here and you can design the vet e.g. 1920 by 1080. If you want this
size to be designed, you can create 1920
by 1080 pixels. And let's click
on Create design, although it will create
a blank page for you. And you also will have
some suggestions here. But the best part
is those templates, even if the pixel size or the
dimensions are different, you can adjust it on this
template by your own, e.g. if I throw this here, you just hold it, drag and drop. And it will automatically
adjust according to that size. And same thing goes for
all the templates, e.g. even if they are little
bit less in size. Let's give an example. E.g. if you want to
upload some images, you can go to uploads. After you open the design
and click on upload media. Let's see from pictures, I want to upload
this screenshot. Now like we have discussed in the difference between the
basic and the pro version, that the background removal tool is available in the pro version. So it is suggesting that here. So when we drag and
drop this image here, if you bring it to the corner, it will automatically
adjust in size. But if we just drag and
drop on the center, it will have the standard size, which you can adjust later
on by these controllers. You have the option
to make it wide. You have the option to
move the arrow here. On all of these sites, you have the controllers. So you can adjust according
to your requirements. This is an important
tool that you can adjust the custom sizes in
your Canvas app. Also, if you have the
size, not in pixels, but in inches, millimeters, or centimeters, you can
change the proportion. Our calculation here as well. This is it. This is the basic introduction
of the home screen and how you can launch a
new projects in Canva.
5. Postioning and Spacing Elements in Canva: Now let's get one step
further and discuss about the spacing of the elements
and shapes in Canva, e.g. if I want to design a template, I can create a blank
template as well. I'll simply click
on Create design. And if you want to
choose a blank template, you can set on Custom Size. And e.g. if you have the statistic size of
this presentation size, you can click on here and then you will get some
blank template grade. Now, e.g. if I want to select a shape or upload
a shape in here, I can go to the elements and you have different shape
options to choose from. You can choose the boxes, the curve box, some arrow keys. You have brown
circles, triangles. You can insert any shape, e.g. if I want to insert
our triangles, I can just drag and drop here. And now I can adjust the
size by dragging it upwards, downwards and in whatever
position you like. And these are all
the controllers are pinpoints from where
you can adjust the size. You can also revolve it
by using this option. When we hover over
to this option, it will change it to color, which is an indication
that now this is selected. So if we hold the left mouse key and start moving towards
any direction, you will notice
that it will start changing its direction or
rotating its direction. You can stop at any
point you like, and just release the mouse key. Now for your convenience, if you select this icon, you have the option in more
to set the position as well. You can set it on the top. Right here. It will be
automatically adjusted. You have the option of middle, bottom, and center, left, right, whatever you want. Now, if I want to make the
copy of this strip, e.g. I want ten identical shapes. After I've customized it, Let's say I've changed my
color to my default template. I've made some other
customizations like size. If you are using a text box, you can change the
writing style. And once the customisation
is all done and you want identical shapes with
identical colors and sizes. What you can do is just
hold the alternate key, choose that shape, and move towards either
right or bottom. You can see that you can create a lot of copies like this. And similarly, the most popular shortcut if
you want to use that, you can choose that as well. Just click on Control
C and Control V, and you can create
multiple copies out of it. And similarly, now, if I want to select all of these shapes, you can just drag it
towards all the shapes and you can move all these shapes to whatever position you want. Now e.g. now, if I
want to position it, I'll select all of these shapes. And let's click on position. Let me just zoom out a
little bit so that you can get the options to see
that movement as well. E.g. if I want to select Top, it will arrange all of these, but these shapes are one
over and other, right? So let's select all of these and move to a
different position. And since now all of these
are selected as a group. You can select to tidy up. Now, I got rid off with all the other multiple
shapes copies. Let's select all of these. As you can see that they
are haphazardly arranged. Now, if I selected all of these, now if I click on position
and click on top, you will see that all of these are arranged in a
proper sequence. Similarly, if I
select all of these again and position it
center on the right. But on these conditions they
are all over one another. You can arrange it horizontally. Idea, tidy up. We'll arrange exactly in the same distance and
in the same position. So you can experiment with that by inserting
multiple shapes. And whatever works for you, just try it by
yourself and you will get your most relevant
option from here. It will save you a lot of time to arrange the data
when you're customizing your templates now and other
useful option which can save you a lot of time is when
you are inserting text, you can choose our
custom heading or any custom
template from here. E.g. if I click on this
one, this is a heading. Now, if you want to
move it anywhere, just click on this Heading 1s, and it's not necessary to move it from a
particular point. You can be within this box and
move it anywhere you want. So it is especially convenient when the heading
size is too small. Now when the heading size, if I switch it to too small, you will get an additional
option in case it's very difficult to select
this or move it around here, you will just click
on the heading. And once the heading
is selected, you will get this special
icon to move around the four arrow
keys indicated you can hold it and move
it anywhere you want. The most important things
that we have discussed in this lecture is making a
copy of your headings, e.g. this one, if I want
to create copies, simple method is just customize your main heading and then hold the alternate key and
move towards upwards. It can easily create a copy. The next option that
we have discussed is the alignments and making the copy of the shapes as
well in the same manner. Also, you can use the short
keys like Control C and V. So that's it. This is how you can position
and space elements in Canva.
6. Working With Rulers and Grids in Canva: Now to quickly get rid of all
of these shapes and text, you can simply just drag it over all the shapes and then
hit the delete button. Now let me just adjust the
size of the pH a little bit. I can zoom it from here. Now, if you want to arrange
the data in more proper form, you have the option
to enable rulers. I'll click on File Options. You can show margins, you can show rulers. And this is the
shortcut Shift and are. Now you also have margins
that you can enable this in case you want to design
within these borders, then you can add
margins as well. Now again, if you want
to shoot print bleed, brain bleed means
if you enable it, you can design all of
your template just before this line so that if any printer
have different settings, it will not cut
off your designs. So this is just a
safe border for it. So you can enable and disable all of these
options from here. But the most useful
one is rulers. You can see here that we have a very limited
editing space. You can increase your
editing space by hiding this speech and moving this
editing area backwards. And hiding this idea as well if you don't need it right now. And afterwards, you can zoom it according to your requirements that will make your designing. Morgan, we need. Now, if you want to
enable the show guides, I can click on File. And from here, you can
sort of read from here, down here, and you can add
some margin from here. The simplest method is
just go to this ruler and hold the left-click and
start moving towards right. Wherever you want to place it, you can release the mouse here. So you can break
this position with the help of rulers so that you can customize it even better. You can divide the beat. And these rulers are used
for the advanced designers, which wants to design specific areas in each
particular boxes. They can divide the portions and then start designing
your template. Now e.g. if I want to insert a shape just
within this area, I can go to elements and
choose any shape, e.g. let me choose this
one, this box. And if I want to fit
this box in here, it's very convenient for me to design a same
amount of The box. It's very convenient
for me to design the same proportion of
the box in each area. Because of these lines, you can just zoom
it a little bit. Let me just zoom it. And you can see that when
I adjust the size of it, as soon as it snaps
in this line, it will show you the indication
with this pink color. So you know where to stop. And same goes for every
box that you create. So this is, it. Same is the case here. Now if I want to make e.g. copies of it, you will hold the alternate key and start
moving towards right. This is the new shape that
you need to adjust as well. Now seemed goes on for
every box that we created. Since we have the indication, we can create identical sizes and you can move it as well if you don't find it
identical in shape. So let me design
one more box here. Just hold the alternate key, start moving downwards and you
can adjust that like this. So this is it. This is how you can work on the rulers and the
other guides in Canva.
7. Working With Text Alignments Efficiently: Now, as we have learned
about a couple of designs, Let's get rid of all of
these shapes and stuff. Just simply select all of these. Right-click and delete. And when you want to
get rid of the rulers, you can turn off the
ruler from here. Now let's see some of the tips to precisely
align the text. E.g. let me just create a
heading or let's say a shape. Let's write a line here. I mentioned a line
and ligand lines. I have different
options to choose from e.g. this one I select. If I want it to be thicker, you can choose it from here. You can increase
the weight of it. And if I drag it towards right in the perfect
alignment like this, you can align that. And now if I want to
change the color, I will select this line. And I have the option
of here on the top, we have line colors. So let's choose that. And let's see that if I
want to choose this color, so now this is inserted and I want to
create a stylish headings, so that is the border for it. And now let's add a heading. You can just click
on that as well. And let's write something
like this is my heading. First of all, I want it to
be a single line heading. You can just reduce the size
of it and the text size. And let's see, Now
it is like this. Now my heading is of this size. I want it to be exactly
aligned as per that shape. So you will notice that if I start moving it towards right, let me just zoom
it a little bit so that you can see
proper form of it. E.g. if we are in here and if we start increasing
the size of it, and we want to match the exact size from that cheap as well in the
perfect alignment. So you will notice that when we go just on the corner
of that shape. So you will see that when we go just around the
corner of that shape, it will snap it and
show the line that is an indication that it is in
perfect alignment right now, similar cases here, if you
start moving this shape, words are this point, it will snap it and show
the shape indication. Now you can also adjust
and play with the spacing. If you select this text, we have the option
of spacing in here. If you click on it, you can change the
letter spacing. You can increase
the size like this. And let's see if we
reduce the size. The overall look
will be like this. If we increase the
letter spacing, you can increase the line spacing if we have
multiple text. And let's reduce this. You can even change
it to like this. So these are some of the
options that you can play with and experiment
what works for you. But one thing that you need
to keep in mind is when you are experimenting with
this spacing options, you need to make sure that you are under the proper alignment. E.g. if you are left aligned, the spacing will not
work in the same way as when it is center aligned. If you notice that when, now if I'm increasing the space, it is not changing any
position from here. It is static here, it is touched down here, and it is only increasing
the speed towards the right. Same as the case here. When we change it to
the left aligned. All of the spacings are and will be adjusted
towards my other side. This side is not static and it is adjusting
according to the side. And again, if you
want to move up and align with the
sheep by yourself, you can play around and
see what works for you. So in this case the ideal one, but I think is the
center alignment. And you can play with
the spacing after that. Now, again, the
subheading area, e.g. you want to add some
padding just under this. There is an option by default
available in the text area, and that is at a subheading. Now, if I write
something like this, now this is my subheading, and now if I select this, I can increase the spacing. It will look very
stylish like this, e.g. and you can align
it just under that. So these kinds of
textiles look pretty cool when designing a
professional template. So this is some of the option of precisely designing
the text sizes, although it's not very complex. But it will be a
great help to design some beautiful textiles
and alignments.
8. Selection and Grouping Benefits: Now let's see some of the
quick tips on how to select objects and how to group the
objects in gamma. Now e.g. if you want to select the
multiple objects in Canva, you can just hold the left mouse key and start moving towards
the other portion. So it will select all of the texts and then
you can move it around and just hold it from the left mouse key and
then move anywhere around. You can move it upwards, you can move it downwards,
anywhere you want. Whenever you want to
de-select the text, you can just click any where in the blank space and
it will be unselected. Now, if you don't
want your texts to move or this line from what
setting you have made. You can group all the texts
and the content in here. How you can do that. You will select all of
these texts and shapes, like I just told you. And then after the selection, you can go to more options
and you can click on Group. So now, whenever you select
only this one object, you don't have to
select like this. Instead you will
just click on it once and it will all
selected as a group. And then you can move
it anywhere you want. So this is how you can
group the elements, which is very convenient
if you want to move some advanced designs which have multiple shapes and
text involved in that. Now, again, if you want to
select an ungrouped data, now, you can just right-click
and click on Ungroup. And you can also do
it from here, e.g. group. Now, if we
go to more options, you can ungroup
from here as well. And then you will have the regular options to move each object and text separately. Now these options are very
important if you want to keep things together and
within the proper alignments. Now one other benefit
of this is e.g. let's add a shape,
e.g. this one. And if I have a shape in the
background just like this, and let me just format
it to any other color. Let's say this one. And let's see if I send
it to the background. Now what we will
do is we need to keep this box inside the group. That is important. If it's not showing
inside the group. First of all, we
will ungroup that. Ungroup all of that. And then select this box. Let's see what happens. This textbox has some
additional texts. So let's say we
have removed this. So basically, first of all, we will keep in areas so
that all the elements and text can come within this
filled shape of yellow box. So once we're done with this, let's select all of these
and group that again. Now, one of the benefits
of the group is, let's say this is the text. And let's see in this text, I will add, let's say
line one and line two. So you can notice that
this additional text is being out of
that colored shape. It is not automatically
expanding. Now let's Control Z and undo. And let's make sure that there's no additional spaces in here. If there are, then get
rid of that by pressing the backspace and just make sure that all of the elements, including the texts and shapes are within
this colored box. After that, Let's select all of these texts and go to
group and group it. Now, if I want to add some
lines to it, Let's see. I will add line one, line two. So you can see that whatever
is contained in the group, it will automatically expand the colored box
according to that. So this is also very convenient. You don't have to change and adjust the shape
according to the texts. Rather it will automatically
expand by itself. So this is how you can
use and take the benefit of grouping and selection
options in Canva.
9. Sending Text and Shapes backward and Forward Object Stacking: Alright, now we're going
to learn about the objects stacking or selecting the
hidden elements, e.g. if I insert multiple shapes, Let's give some
different colors to it. Let's say this one is purple. Add some more. This one is, let's say blue. And we will add some more. Just hold the
alternate key and move downwards and change the
colors for every shape. All the time, you will hold the alternate key to make a copy of this shape ordinarily. And just hold the mouse
with the left key and just move downwards to see a copy of this shape
and then change its color. So let's see, these are different boxes
overlapping one another. So when you have
multiple objects on your screen or
on your design, you have to learn about
the objects stacking or what items to show on
the front and on the back. So here are some of the
designs I have in here. And on the top of that, the full box, what I can
see is the yellow box. Now e.g. this one is
not our main boss, but the red one is. What we have to do is this is on the front and you can see
that this is on the backward. So what we can do is just
select and right-click on this one and click
bring on front. So you can notice that now
this one is the main one and this is overlapping
under that box. Similarly, e.g. blue one is our main box. So I'll click on, bring this one to the front, send backwards, and it will automatically
come to the front. Now this one is our main box. And if you want to
work more efficiently, you always have the
short key is written right in front of
every option, e.g. Control plus bracket
sine is the key. The key is basically this one. Control and this bracket sign. This is just to show you if you can't find it on the keyboard. So let's see if I
want to bring it to the front. The short keys. Bring forward closing bracket, controlled plus closing bracket. So let's select purple
and bring to the front. And you can see that
this is not properly brought to the front because
it is already selected. This one is already
selected, bring to front. I'll rather select
Send Backwards now. And this one send backwards two. And now let's bring
to the front. Again ten backwards, backwards. And send to back
this one as well. Send to back this one
as well. And backwards. And now it is on the forwards. So if you have multiple shapes
overlapping one another, you need to try it
multiple times. Just makes sure that all of
the other shapes are sent to the backwards
and the main one is brought to the front. Now, this one is
related to the shapes. Now, if we delete all of these, Let's insert one shape. And let's make it
like light color. And let's insert
a heading again, go to text and click on heading. Now, these ones, normally
what we do is we insert a shape separately and then
we adjust our heading on it. If we want a highlighted
heading with a box. Now if we try this sending backward and forward
in here, e.g. you have a shape here and due to some reason you need to
send it to backwards. So let's see what is
the impact of it. You will just right-click
and click on backwards. So although you can't
see it right now, but in some cases, you will make the
image transparent and will show the reflection
of it from the background. This is some of the designs types that I can't
explain right now. But if properly designed, it looks very beautiful. As you can see that all
the texts is in black, but still because of
its transparency, it's showing irrelevant color, like a dark green matching
with this theme as well. So if you design it further, you can give multiple
sheets to it as well. So this is how it will work. If I click this one
to send to backwards, you can see that the
original color of the text heading is in black. So you can experiment with these further when you
make your own design. This is also a quick option
that I wanted to share.
10. Locking and Snapping: Alright, now we're going to learn something about
snapping and logging. Let's insert one shape. I'll go to elements and
just select one shape, make it attractive color, and increase the size of it. Now once you grasp the
concept of snapping logging, it will help you a lot in maintaining your
designs alignments. If you have some
complex design and you don't want the shape to move out from their position. When you are working on
some other elements, sometimes the
objects are shaped, slips down from its area. So you need to look at that, especially if you have
some complex designs rate. So let's see this shape. If I move it around, it will show you different
positions on different points. That e.g. this is the
center of this design. And this is the center from
the bottom here as well. Like from this position, this is the center as well, and this is the
center of the page. So this is indicating that some of the rulers that
is automatically enabled, which is indicating the
different positions in the design or in your Canvas. Now e.g. if I want
this shape to exactly snap between that middle, it will show you up here that
this is the exact middle of the full canvas
or your blank page. So you can snap it
anywhere you want. You can snap it to the center, you can snap it to the corners, and it will indicate
automatically enabled. So basically this is
the hidden ruler guides that will automatically guide
you as you move around. E.g. if I make a copy of it, and let's choose a
different color for it. Now let's see if I
want to exactly align. The shape is
something like here. And this shape is here. If I want to exactly snap it on the same lining
as this shape. So once I will move
it around here, it will compare the
objects here as well. This is the center of
the other objects. This is the top line
and bottom line. So this is guiding that you are exactly in the
same alignment. The only difference is on the corners if you
see the borders, the new shape is exactly
snapping the border, while the old ship is
not exactly snapping it. So what we can do is we can
move around here as well. Now, both of these are snapping exact to the page corners,
which is perfect. So this guide is essentially to perfectly align your objects and text within your redesign, although you're just
on the starter point. But I'm explaining in
detail about all this, that when designers use these
features professionally, it is very important that
every object and sizes and texts are in the perfect
alignment for their design. Now once you have carefully
designed and lined all of your shapes and
text on the positions. Like I said, you don't
want it to drag a little bit when you're making
your other designs. So what you can do is
just select all of these objects and lock
it at their positions. So after that, whenever you try to move it upwards or just because of
slip off or mouse, it will not move
from its position. It's locked. So to unlock that, you will select both of
these objects and click on unlocked and then you
are able to move it. So this is perfect option to lock the objects if you want, the ease in creating
your designs. So that's it. These are some of
the options off snapping and locking
the objects in Canva.
11. Free vs Premium Elements in Canva: Now let's analyze
what elements do you get in free versus
premium version in Canva. So with the free version, you get a lot of elements
and templates for free. But premium the options
are much wider. If you can see some
of the templates, which are all the
professional design is available to use for free. But some of them are
in the Pro version. As you can see
here, it is marked. Now let's click on elements. Now let's click on More
and click on photos. You can see that many of
the professional photos are available in
the free templates. But if we scroll down a bit, you will see that
some of the photos are available just
in the pro version. So once, if I let say add
this pro version icon, if I right-click on it, you can use this one design
for one time for $1. So that's not much
for your project, but still it is available
for the pro version. And if I click on it, you will see the canvas
watermark with it. To remove the watermark, you need to purchase
this premium image. And even if you insert
this premium image, and let's say you
want to continue with the watermark still, whenever you want
to download this, you will see this e.g. JPEG. Again, if you want to
insert some shapes, Let's go to Shapes
in the elements. Again, lots and lots of shapes
are available for free, but some of them are
marked as premium. E.g. this one, you can remove the watermark
for $2 in this image. Let's check this one only for
$1, for this one as well. So these are some of
the difference between free and premium images, although you will get
most of them for free. But still if you
want to download some more professional shapes
and elements or images, you need to purchase
that image or that particular
shape for $1 each. Now, sometimes there
are some conditions in wall with the free
templates as well, e.g. some of the elements
in this image might be off the pro version and
some of them might be free. So e.g. if I click on it
and if I add it here, all of these images are free. But sometimes it is the case
that the design is free, but the image is not. So in that case, you can
replace the image with your own and make your custom design. So you can just simply
use the template and ignore the image that is
of the premium version. Simply replace that with
your own image and you have your custom design
ready. So e.g. if you are professionally
giving services of designing to your client. So most of the time
they will pay you extra for that premium images
if you are using that. But most of the elements and
shapes are free in Canva. So oftentimes you will get
all the elements for free. But if you need some premium
elements for a client, the client will pay for it. And even if you are buying
that premium element, that's still a good deal
since you are making professional designs
as your service. So that's it. This is the difference between free and premium elements in Canva and how to identify that.
12. Saving your Time With Templating: In this lesson, we are going to learn about the template thing. So what we will do is we
will works marking on the templates that
we already have and then make some
customization. So although it will take
you some time to develop all these templates,
but in future, you can smartly use that
templates for multiple designs that you create frequently for your clients or
for your business. Now, e.g. there is a template that you will
use over and over again, but with different
customizations. How can you do that? If I go back to my home page and let's
see if I create a recipe. Let's see this recipe card. So in this way, let's see if I choose a template that has multiple
photos involved with it. What I can do is I can create multiple variants of
the same template by creating a copy of it. Just click on this plus sign
and it will create the copy. You can easily customize that by changing
the color scheme, e.g. this one right here. And you can make
some customizations in the images as well. Let's see that sometimes
you need a template for the client which has
only two images in Word. And sometimes you need for, sometimes you need six. So you will create some multiple
variants of that thing. E.g. I. Sometimes needed
like this without text and sometimes
I need four images. So sometimes if they're
different color. So the benefit of creating
this multiple templates, you can remove these
photos as well, is that when you need a quick customization and
just download that image, it will provide you different
variants to choose from. You don't have to
customize it every time. If you have this four images, these two images customization, six images customization
with different colors. So you will choose
whatever you like in here. You will just fit in
your images, e.g. if I have different
images right here, I'll just fit my
images like this. So e.g. if I want to print out quickly this variant
of the template, I can just quickly
put my images in here from the upload section if you already
have the elements, otherwise you can just
go to the stock photos. And let's write
food here. And e.g. this one is my first image. And second one is,
let's say this one. So I can quickly break. Now. I have how many
different variants? Three different variants
with different colors, with different
customizations in here. And whatever I want to print, I'll click on Share now
and click on Download. And you can choose the page you don't need to download
all of these. You will just choose
the pH in here. I will uncheck all of these
and I'll select only, let's say pH2 done the suggested type most
of the times is JPEG, but we will discuss all the other templates
in detail as well. So let's download and
let's save it on desktop. And once we open it, you will see that this is only one template readily
available for the download. This will save you
a lot of time. You must read all the
frequently used templates, different variants of it
with different colors, with different customization
so that you can just quickly choose that
vertical template that you want for now and then
quickly work further on marketing or printing whatever you want to do
with its template. So that's it. This is how you can quickly use templating idea
to save you time.
13. Quick Magic Search Box for Easy Designing: In this video, we are
going to learn about new technique to quickly
work through your templates. And that is forward
slash search tool, which will save you a lot of time in creating
your designs. You don't have to switch
between the sections to find your photos,
elements or text. You can simply type forward
slash on your design and you will quickly get
all of these at one place. So to demonstrate this, I'll just scroll down and Vered sees you
might want to try, you will just scroll
it a little bit and let's use Instagram
false for now. Now I'll choose
any template, e.g. or birthday. I have different
templates right here. You can choose any
of these templates. Some of them are in the paid version and
some of them are free. So what we can do is just scroll up whatever
you feel like. Let's insert this one because
this one is quite basic. So we will add some
customizations to it as well. So let's say we have
inserted this one. I, let me just zoom
it a little bit. Now, e.g. this template
is quite nice, but you feel that this balloons, you don't want, that, you want some other
type of violence. So to find that
you might want to search elements are
some other areas. But you can quickly
do that by just typing the forward
slash on your design. And you will get the option to choose or insert our
texts, align, arrow, circle, different shapes,
different charts, and logos, videos, photos. All of the options
are at one place. So you will simply
write, let's say, balloons here and hit Enter. You will get a lot of
templates from here, e.g. if I choose this one, I'll just resize it like this. And then you will
start moving around. And you will notice
that many of the times, whenever you go in any corner, it frequently suggest you to
set this as a background. You don't want that
solution every time. So if you don't want that, you will just hold Control key and then start moving around. So you will notice
that now you're not getting that option. Similarly, if I want to
place it here as well, you will just make a copy. How to select that image, press and hold the
ordinate key and then make a copy
of it like this. Hold the Control key
so it doesn't suggest the background and set
it anywhere you want. Now, it is dependent on
your designing sense, what you design
out of that tools. But this is the option
that you can quickly use as a quick search. Similarly, if I want to, let say if I want to change
the background, right. So instead of going two more and photos and
finding that from there, I'll just be in my own design and then
hit the forward slash. And here is my all
tools at one place. Let's write birthday here. You will see that it will
suggest all the shapes and images all at one place. So whatever you want to select, most of them right
now our elements. Let's see if I want to
search only images. So what you can do is
write birthday and select photos from here. Now let's see if I want
to change the background. I want this background
to appear here. So now this one is paid
template, right, birthday again. Now the free templates, you will usually find it on the top. All of these that is marked as crown are in the Pro version. So let's select this one. And let's set this
one as my background. Now you can match your designs
with what you have chosen. So you can re-size this, place it anywhere you want. Like this. And
let's change this. Okay, So this is
my custom design. Now e.g. if I quickly want to
add a background because I think that this Happy Birthday
should appear in a box. So I can quickly insert that
rectangular box by hitting the forward slash again
and write rectangle R, E would be enough. So rectangle is here. And you can set that
and resize that. And then as you can see that
birth is not appearing. You can right click and
click on bring forward. I think the color scheme
is different. Yeah. So now you can set that here. So basically these are the
tools that you can quickly use for your customization, although the designing sense will still be dependent on you. But these are tools that are helpful to quickly
create your designs.
14. Canva Power in PDF Imports and Edits: Now let's say that
we have a PDF. Now we will learn how you can import or edit the
PDF documents. Right now, I have a
PDF document that I have opened in Brave
default browser. So as you can see that
this will be used just to view the document
and you cannot edit that. And even if you are using the software like
Adobe Acrobat Reader, even in the pro version, when you click on Edit, It's very difficult to edit the document in that
software's in Canva. It's super easy. Now what I'm going
to do in Canva is just open the
Canva and open that PDF folder where you
have all the PDFs and then drag and drop to
the Canva like this. Now you can see that if
you scroll downwards, it is automatically designing
it according to Canva. And now you can simply
click and open it. And if I zoom it a little bit, it is already under
the Edit mode. Now you can add it that easily, like you can see that now each of these are already
in the edit mode, e.g. instead of checking count, I might want to mention the
bank name, that is e.g. Barclays Bank. So I can easily do that
under name if you want to change it to account name. Let's see. So all of these are
easily editable in Canva. You can try any of your
PDF document, just upload, drag and drop it on Canva
and try to edit that. It's super convenient. So this is how you can easily edit your PDF
documents in Canva.
15. Canva Practice Exercise 1: We can now is the time to
do some Canva challenge. In this exercise, I've given you some of the tasks that
you need to complete. And just don't think
of it like a homework. Just think of it like a preview of what you have
already learned and then practically implementing it on the conditions
that I have provided. So it is the best way to lock in your knowledge what
you have just learned. So you can find the
link to this camera, a template with
this video are with the resources section of this
course under challenge one. So just copy and paste the link or just
click on that link, it will automatically open in your particular
version of canva.com. These involved a couple of
assignments like can you group all the squares so
that you can then move or delete them
all at the same time? Or can you lock the circles? Can you move it on the species? So all of these we have
already learned that just use the link to open up this
template, read the requirements, and do it by yourself, and then consult your
answers and match it with the solutions are
provided in the next video.
16. Canva Practice Exercise 1 Solution: Now I really hope that you have already completed the challenge. And this is just a go-to
of what you have done and you need to just tally
your answers with mine. But it is very essential
that you practice on all of these
scenarios. So let's see. Now, the simple requirement
for the first one is can you group
all the squares so that you can then
move or delete them at all at the same time. Yes, of course, we
will select all of these and click on Group. It's as simple as that. If you want to delete, you
can delete it together. If you want to move it anywhere, you can move it like this. The second requirement, can
you look all the circles so that they are protected from
being moved or deleted? Yes, of course,
select all of these. This is the lock option. So now you cannot delete
it just like that. You need to select
an unlocked that to move or to
delete the objects. Now and other requirement
is how fast can you evenly spaced circles
into all the grid cells. You can delete this
text before you start. So you have a cleaner workspace. So for this, just hold the ordinate key and start
moving towards right, so that you can
get to know about the alignment whenever
it is effected. So right now, this is
the perfect box shape, as you can see the borders. And this is how we move it. Same gaze is for moving
downwards like this. And same goes for this one. Same goes for moving
downwards like this. They can delete the extra one. This is the perfect shape. Here. And again, ordinate is just
to make the copy of it. And we will move it and
place it like this. So you can see that all of these shapes are in
the perfect alignment. Now again, if you
want to insert more, you can do that like this. Alternate, make a
copy, alternate, make a copy, alternate,
make a copy. And then you can select
all of these and click on position and
align that horizontally. And then you can group that and fill all the other
species quickly. Let me just get rid of this one. Let's copy. Paste like this. Copy. You can make the copies
from alternate as well. See how quickly and in
the perfect alignment, I've created all of these circles using that Greeks that we have just learned. Now let's move down. There is a hidden text element behind the green rectangle. Can you find the V to select it and bring it to the
front of the rectangle. Of course, we will
right-click and click this shape to
send two backwards. You did a nice job. But you can also do
with this is you can reduce the transparency
and enable that. If this suits you, the best option is sending
backwards and forward. Now the next requirement is how quickly can you left align all the green rectangles so that they are flush
with the red line. And then space them
evenly so they're horizontally aligned with
decreased rectangles. Looks difficult, but
it's pretty simple. You just need to position
the first box as a sample, a line that perfectly
with the red line. Now select all of
these elements. And in the Position, click on left aligned. Now move one object
downwards and aligned so that all of the remaining can position itself
automatically. Now select all of these
objects and go to position and click on align vertically spaced evenly
in the vertically. So you can see that it is in the perfect alignment
of all boxes. The next requirement
is can you recreate the stacked circle
design like this one? You see to the left
with the circles below. We need to create
this design right? Now here we will smartly use all the techniques and make
it as quick as possible. First of all, bring
these shapes under this one circle like this. Then according to this steep, this should be on the front. So bring forward,
bring to front. And this one should be
under the position. It's already on the back. This one should also
be to the back. You will make the
alignments like this, and then select all
of these and click on position and click on middle, aligned, and then
aligned to the center. So as you can see, more or less, it is like this. If I, this is one
to the backwards. So as you can see that this one bring to the forward
and select all of these. Click on position. And first
of all, click on center. And then select all of these. First of all, go to position
and click on middle, and then click on center. So you need a little bit
more experiment with it. Only the, the shape is
not aligned perfectly. So we can manually
do that as well. I need to send this
one backward now. And this one should
be reduced in size. And then you can
middle align that, or you can center align that. Afterwards, you can align that. And now it's perfect. So this is how you
have fulfilled all the requirements on
the challenge exercise. Congratulations.
17. Use of Grids to Create Powerful Layouts: Now in this video, we are
going to discuss how you can create a side-by-side
grid-based layout in Canva so that you can design some articles or the texts
like you see in newspapers. So let's see that how we can create such layouts in Canva. And it's important to learn
about the grades here in Canva because a lot of people
think of grid as just, you can just drag and drop the image in the background
or a shape in the background. And that's it. This is what
we consider as a grid, but it is much more than that. So first of all, let's
select a template. Now what we can do is you can insert a
presentation template. There we go. So to insert the grid or
divide the page in two sides, I can divide that by going into the elements and then
search for grids here. So let's write grids. You have degrees
different layouts. Right here. You can insert and
divide it into vertically, horizontally in three sites. So these are the different
configurations here. So e.g. if I want to
divide my layout into two, this is the ID layout for that. Let's see. If we click on that, it will be inserted right away. So in this way, it will be
divided into two columns. And if it doesn't
fit in properly, what we can do is just select
and click on this shape. Or you can see image
kind of thing and just drag it towards the corner until it
snaps. Like this. You will notice a
color change or border will be much thicker
when it snaps the corner. Similarly in here, and it snaps, you will automatically know. Similarly here. You can identify it by yourself. So now it's exactly
divided into two pages, except for the species
in the middle. Now, if I don't want this
deviant as a space here, so I'll just come in here, select both of these. Actually, I can select the single one and
removed space in between. Like this. Choose any of one, and then remove the space. Now, let's design
something on it. So let's see, for this grid, I can differentiate
that in colors. Let's see. For this one, I
turned into gray, and for this one I
turned it into white. Now let's see if
I want to insert multiple grids in
the same layout, but at the same time,
I don't want it to be move from its place. So I need to lock the scripts
at its pollution, right? So then I want to select both of these and lock it
in their position. Once we select both of them, you won't be able to
see the Log option. So instead, look like this. Whatever you select, both
will be locked together. Now e.g. if you want an
article kind of look like you need an
image here and you need three columns to
be written in text, separated by a little
space in here. So what you can do is you
can insert multiple grids. Now. Just insert the single grid. Let's say if I reduce the
size and it just it on here. Now in this case, it totally depends on whether you want it to be snapped to
the corner or you want the image to
be smaller size. Most of the times the image should appear in the
middle of the page. So you can adjust it like this. If you feel that you
have less space left for your text in here, you can reduce the
size even further. Now let's see. Now I want the text
to be appeared in three columns, like an article. So I can insert this
three columns like this and just reduce
the size of it. And if you want to snap it
for this particular thing, you can snap it to the corners
as well as you'd like. Or you can also match
with the image above. When you want to match, you can match it exactly why the help of automatic
rulers that is enabled, as it shows when it completely
matches with the shape. Now, I'm not going to fill them exactly with the image or
with a particular text. I just want to see a
separate separation to that. When I design my
article or newsletter, I can identify what
areas do I have. So let's paint it white now. And for all the shapes, I can make it different colors, but I'll prefer to give white. And then the next one, white, next one turn into white. You already can see the
image forming up here. So you can already see
layout forming up here. Again, since I have used
a lot of grids here, now you can select and lock
it at their position so that it won't move when you are designing
further into Canva. Now, maybe if you want the copy of that in
this portion as well, because you will be designing
something similar here. So just hold the alternate key. It is always used to make a
copy, but since it is locked, you need to unlock that
first for select that, unlock it from here, and then hold the alternate key and start moving
towards the left. And since this is also white, you need to change the
color to something else. And let's see that for this, you want the different
spacing out here. Maybe this one is enough or maybe the center of the
speech from like here. Now, let's insert our heading. Let's follow what we
have as an assignment. This one is our heading. You can place it
anywhere you want. You need to reduce the size. You can easily do that by going into corners and adjust
according to your requirements. And if you want to insert
an image here, a small one, even, you can use this
as a shape on lock that. Use a copy of that
and just reduce the size so that you can
insert a smaller image here, genes the color so that you
can identify what's in there. So e.g. if this is my
heading off the image, or even let's just reduce that. Let's say this one right here. Let's use that one. And let's put it this way. Now, let's see if I want some article related
to forest here. You can go to photos
and write forest here. And let's see if I want to
talk about the greenery. So let's just hold and
drag it right here. You can just hold that
and put it in this image, drag and drop, and it
will automatically fit in the positions. So whatever suits you
according to your article, you can search that quickly. Now let's see that if you want it to appear in this
particular columns, in the center of this, you can adjust it according
to its size like this, you can also increase the size to make it convenient for you to identify the positions
in here like that. And you can move around
to see the alignments. And let's see if I
move it to the top. And let's insert
some more text here. E.g. I. Insert a sub adding here. And if you want to
reduce that in size, you can do that as well. And you can, alright. Anything you want
related your article. So what we're going to do is we're just going
to fill our template, whatever we have designed. And we're seeing some
different possibilities on how you can make
your designs better. Now again, if you
want an image here, you can put the image of, let's say the parks, let's say, and let's say
this one or this one. Okay, Now, let's see how we can do the texts insertion here. E.g. you want it to be
appeared in different columns. The texts, ligand,
article or news paper. So what we can do
is you can just simply go to text and put a body here and just adjust according
to the size of this area. And this is the body. You can reduce the
size like this. And you can write anything here. So something like this. So this is my text area. Let's see. And now if I want it to be written in
two different columns, I can make copy of it, make a copy of it, and write whatever you
want to write here. If you want to insert just
some random text here, you can Google that. You can write Lorem Ipsum text. And you can copy some
random text here. You can find it in
paragraphs and whatever. So you can simply put
it here where you want. As just an example
of the template. Now, to give it a proper look, let me just copy this
text of Lorem Ipsum. It's way more than I need. So let's just get rid of
some of the text here. So let's reduce this. And if you want to
align it, some weird, you want, you can just
align it to justify it, or any sequence you want. Just divide doesn't look good. Let's try different
layouts here. And you can fill this text
box around the corner so that it will look nice and fill the area
properly like this. And you can fill some
more text in here. Now this one is just an
example so that you can get the idea of how the
texts will look like. And then after that, you can just simply make copies of it like
I showed you here. So it will have a
look like this. And afterwards. You can, Let's see
if we can change the text styles of all of the boxes together. Yes, we can. So let's try a different
text styles here and see what suits you according to the overall
look of the article. So let's say this seems nice. Now these grid lines, when you are finished
with designing, It's just a guide
for you after that, if you want to get rid of
any of these gray colors, Let's unlock that first, select this area and
remove the transparency. And boom, you can
get rid of that easily and you have the
simple design like that. So it's just to give you
the perfect outlook of what the alignments should look like when you're
designing something here. It's still have some things to achieve that design that I
showed you as an example. But you get the idea of how you can design and play around with the functions
that we have learned. And you make the most
of the grids and makes the excellent use of the grids and adjust your
designs accordingly. So if I try to quickly
build a kind of a shape that we have
seen in our designs. Let me just quickly get to
some sort of design in here. So although it doesn't
exactly matches our design, obviously you need to spend
some more time on it. I just quickly
showed you through all the tools that we can use. But you can design it seem
as shown in the example, by using all the tools that
we have discussed here.
18. Using and Choosinf Fonts Strategies: In this video, we're going
to see the strategies for choosing an organizing
the fonts in Canva. So the first method that
we're gonna be using is just exploring around the canvas and observe different fonts. And e.g. if I go to templates, see different designs
and the fonts you like, you can make a note
of it and create your own collection
out of it so that you can create or store the fonts that you regularly
use are like now e.g. if I browse in some
categories and click on, let's say pollster, I have
couple of designs here. And let's see. I'm interested in
this kind of font. So let's click on it and
customize this template. E.g. this is the
font that you like. What you can do is you can
just make a document in Canva, make it a design, e.g. let's say our presentation, but you can do is just copy and paste it right here. Makes sure that it is in the
same font that you like. And then just copy
this name as well. And then just note the font name and write it here to indicate that this is this
particular font. So this way you have the
collection of fonts ready. You can make it
small so that you can fit in many fonts in here. Similarities with this one. Just copy this text
pasted right here. Let's change the writing
because it was white. It's worth not
showing on this page. So I made it black. And the text name is moon time. So just make a
copy of it holding the alternate key and you can manually say it a moon time. So this way you will note multiple fonts and create
a collection for yourself. You can always add new
pages to it like this. So page one, page two, you can make a lot of
collection out here. Just make sure that
whenever you copy and paste the particular text style, it is in its original
style so that you can get the idea of
what this looks like. Now once you go back, you can find your
designs in here. You can then rename it e.g. my, fonts designs like this. And you can rename it
from here as well. So that's it. This is how you can use and choose different fonts
with this strategy.
19. Canva Design Sizes: Now let's talk about one more gain resource and that is Canva design Size Guide. Now, this one will be
helpful when you are creating the professional
design in Canva. So it will be very
helpful for you when you're using the design
sizes. Now, e.g. if you are on the homepage of Canvas where it is different, you might want to try. You have different design or Facebook post
letterhead in voices. So it's gonna give you a starting dimension of what
you want or choose from. Here with the
particular previews. E.g. you are creating a design, but you know that it will
be for our larger display. So can you get more
information about that? Definitely, yes. What you will do is
you will write here canva.com, forward slash sizes. So it will open up
design size guides. So e.g. if you don't know the
standard size of a poster or brochures that you see
as a template in Canva. You can check the sizes
are designed size guides for these particular
boosts, whatever you want. So e.g. if you are
interested in a poster, then you will click on it. And it will give you all the details about the pollster that you
wouldn't want to design. The smallest one is
in this dimensions, the small, medium,
large movies bus stop. So if you want to design
it for a larger display, you have all the options
to choose from here. So this is perfect
when you are using Canva to professionally
be a graphic designer, there might be different
requirements for your clients. Sometimes they want
a smaller poster, like a pamphlet or something, and sometimes they want
it for a larger display. So you have to make sure that it is of the optimum quality. Similarly, if you want to see all the dimensions in
centimeters, millimeters, or pixels, you can set it
accordingly here as well. So similarity for social media, Let's see, for Facebook post, if I want to see all the
possible sizes in here, you have the profile
picture, default size. Let's change it to inches. Let's keep it pixels, profile picture pixels is this cover photos,
this image post. And we have all the sizes
that we want to adjust accordingly to get the
optimum quality image. And it also talks something about each of that
category down here. I'm sure this is
helpful for you. See you in the next lesson.
20. Linked in Banner Creation Project: Now let's make the
practical use of all the tools that we've
learned in a practical project. So now we are going to
design a LinkedIn banner. So first of all, if you are on the Canvas homepage right here, you can search for
the templates. You can just directly write
linked in and hit Enter. You will find this
category right here. To stick on that,
it will pop out all the LinkedIn templates
that you by default have. Some of them are bead and
some of them are free. But obviously we can easily work on these predefined templates. We only have to just
customize that, but we will not use any
of these templates. We will create our own
template from scratch. So that obviously
if you know how to create a template
from scratch, you can easily
customize all of these. So let's create the template. What we will collect
on is create a design. And right here linked in Banner. So this is our untitled
design right here. So since we are creating the complete LinkedIn
banner design from scratch, and this is the most ideal
way of learning that if we can create a banner or
anything from scratch, obviously we can use or
customized logo within minutes. So for now, first of all, we will select our background, go to more backgrounds. And we have different
backgrounds here to choose from. We have Wall pays, sky based. We have different solid
colors, shaded colors. So we can use any of
these. Now e.g. I. Want to create a banner
for digital marketing. So afterwards we will go to elements or we can
just directly hit forward slash N right
here, digital marketing. And as soon as we hit Enter, we have different shapes here. We have different
templates here. Make sure what you are choosing is not under the pro version, but on the free version. So we can use any
of these right now. E.g. if I use this one, now, we will enlarge
this on the corner. Now what we will do is after
we have selected the image, we want to use it just as
a textured background. We will not actually
be using this image. We will reduce transparency so that it will look
something like this. You can even make
it more lighter. This totally depends on
your designing sense. This just to give a professional
look to the template. Now similarly, let's
take another image. Let's write digital
marketing here. Now, let's select any other
free templates here, e.g. this one, let's enlarge that. And we will also make
this one as transparent. Now, let's select two shapes, one square and one
circle. This is square. Let's make it white. And let's insert a circle. Now, This is our circle. Actually, I don't
want this circle. We will just delete that. And right circle here, you will find
different categories related to that circle. We will use actually this one. So let's increase
the size of it. And I want to make it like a corner of this design,
something like this. And you can change
the color to white. And as for this box, you can take it to the bottom. And just to create a border line out of it,
something like this. It should look like a border. Now afterwards what we can do is we will reduce the size of this footer a little bit so that it can
give a look like that. It is a proper design
like an L-shape. If this looks empty, you can insert one more image. Like, let's say this one. And let's make this one
as transparent as well. Now, let's select a frame
for our image as well. I'll go to elements
and scroll down. And we will select a
frame of a circle, make it a little
larger here, e.g. here, I want to select
my own picture. So for demonstration purpose, we will take any
picture from Google, this write something like this, man with two presentation. And choose any image that is more relevant to
your design. E.g. I. Find this one as relevant. Let's download that. And after downloading, you
need to upload this on Canva. So once this is uploaded, you can fit in like this. Just drag and drop. You can crop. And afterwards you can
just double-click. And fit it wherever you want. If you want to reduce
the size of it, you can reduce the size. You can increase the size, whatever you want from it. Now let's insert a company logo. And for that we will take
an example from Google as well and make sure it's
a transplanted local. So write something like this. It will really help you to find relevant images on Google, digital marketing company
logo transparent. And to make sure that it
is the transparent image, the proper transparent
won't go to Tools. And under the color,
select transparent. Now let's select any image, e.g. this one, select a color
one and upload that. And let's paste it right here. You can increase the size. And if it doesn't
suit the background, you have to change the
background altogether. E.g. it suits more in
the white background. So I've changed that. You can also move this
transparent images here so that it looks a
little more professional. Now e.g. here you want to mention some other details
regarding the website, the phone number,
and such details. And you want to insert
some images, right? So just straight forward
slash right verb here. You will find images
related to web. Make sure the one you
are inserting is free. So just select that. Make it short and size. You can enlarge your image to design that properly
and displays it on. Let's see here. Let's write the
text now with it. When we click on text, it's better to write not
in the very bold form, but in the normal form. So add a subheading
would be better. It will be perfect in size to
write the website address. You can write address like this. Just adjust the position, just the image so that
it looks nice with it. Something like this. Yeah. Now similarly, if you want
to make some other details, just make copy of
it. Copy of it. And you can write F be forward slash and your number. Let's say. Similarly, you can insert
these images here as well. Make sure the immature inserting is not off the pro version. So let's use this one. Change it to black. You can again increase
the size to make sure your design is in
synchronization. And again, search
for, let's say phone. For an image. If this suits
you well, that's best. Reduce the size that just it, and make sure it is in line with all the other elements that you've inserted for
website and Facebook. And this looks good. So although there is much more customization
that you can do, you can make it
even more lighter. But this is just to give
you a brief idea on how you can design your
own LinkedIn banners. So this is how you can easily
create LinkedIn banners on Canva using that
simple techniques that we have learned
in our creating.
21. Facebook Post Creation Project: Now let's go one step
further and create a new design of Facebook
post for your business. So although we have templates
for that one as well, if we write Facebook
here, in the search, you will get different
options and you can filter again to Facebook post. And you will get a lots
and lots of templates. Some of them are paid, some
of them are absolutely free. They are absolutely
best thing to use. But since we are in
the learning process, we will create our own
Facebook post from scratch. So that when we know how to
create one from scratch, we can easily customize and use this templates
for ourselves. Now for that, I'll
create a design, right Facebook post here. And this is how you insert
a blank Facebook post. Even when we are in
the blank design, you still have the templates on the left-hand side
of Facebook post. You can just click
that template and it will be automatically fit to your blank template and you
can simply customize it. But again, we're learning to create everything
from scratch. So let's get rid of it. Hit Control Z. Let's zoom the template to make it
easier for you to design. Now let's go to background
and select a color. I'll insert blue. You can also write
gradient here. You will find different
shaded kind of templates. Here are color schemes here. It will look more professional. Afterwards, Let's go to text and click on our main heading that
we will create and write. Let's say a special offer. And in fact, write it
all in capital letters. You can make it uppercase
from here as well, go to three dots. And from here. Now, after that, most of
the people get confused on how we can make a
background in that text. Some of the we will insert
elements like this and then make it off a
desired color, e.g. this, this is also a way, but this is not very efficient
way of doing things. What we will do is after
the text is created, I'll go to effects and just select texts
with the background. So this is not only in
the perfect alignment, but it is simply expandable
with the texts as well. So you don't have to manage the shape separately
and tech separately. This is the best way
possible To do the thing. So see, in the process of creation a template
from the scratch, you learned many new options. Now similarly, when we
create this background, you can adjust the
roundness of it. You can adjust the spread of it, the transparency of it, and you can choose
any color you want. So let's increase
the transparency. And also let's see that if
you want it to be curved, the shape will automatically
curved with it like this. Now let's take it to
the top, like here. And you can reduce the size. If you want to. Just reduce the size of the text box will automatically
reduce itself. Now let's say I want to create
special offer for watches. I said Watches. So I will go to, again, add a heading and
write watches here. Let's see if I want to
make it more stylish. Give it gaps like this. You don't have to do
it that manually. You can do that with a trick as well. So just select that. And you can go to
this option that is spacing and increase the
letter spacing like this. So you can see that
how cool it looks now, change the background, make it, let's see, white this time. And you can reduce and customize further whatever
looks appealing. Make it to the
uppercase as well. Now we have given
special offer in yellow and this one in white. Let's make this one white
and this one yellow. Whatever it looks nice, you can work and test that. Afterwards. Let's try to change the color of the text so as you can see that it's created a
different kind of design. It looks nice. Now let's take it to the top. Reduce its size so
that it is just under the special offer and
little smaller than that. It largely depends on
your designing sense. But I'm designing
from the scratch for you so that you can get different ideas on how you can create a template from scratch. Once you create a
beautiful design, you will always improve and try to add something by yourself. Let's make this one as
a delegate as well, and just reduce the
size a little bit. Let's add some more shapes now, go to elements and let
me insert a circle here. I'll make this one
yellow as well. Just make sure that you don't over use colors and
different textiles. When you're creating
your designs, Let's copy this
same texts design. So what I can do is
if you want it to in, to be in the same format, just hold the alternate key
and then move downwards. It will create a copy of it. And let's write only $65. If you want it to appear like
this with the background, then you can choose that. Otherwise. Just get rid of the background and make it something like this. Reduce the size so that it
can fit in and make sure to follow one designing
pattern as well. E.g. if I choose this
here, this color, you can choose black as well, but just don't overuse. Different colors. Follow the pattern which has
been already used until now. It looks very basic, but there are a lot
of elements that can enhance the look
of your design, e.g. in the elements right dot. And you have this three dots, these dots, some of them
are in the Pro version. Some of them are free. Let's choose, Let's
use this one. And the name for this is contemporary pieces,
elements seven. Just try to write this so that
you can easily find that. Otherwise, you have
to scroll down a lot. This make a copy of it and
answer to the top as well. Make it a little
wider like this. Now you want this shape
to be on the top. You want this to go in
the background rate. So send to back like this. Now, if I want it to be white, I will change it to white. Now for this one as well. Let's make this
one white as well. Now let's add some
transparency because it's too much visible. Now again, let's insert one more circle and
take it to the corner, increase the size of it. And let's see if I make
it yellow as well. Now, let's give it a field, like a corner at the bottom. Now let's showcase our product. And for products you can find
it on Google wrist watch. Let's see. Let's see, this is
our wristwatch. Now let's upload that. Now this is our image, but before inserting the image, we will actually insert
an element or a shape. Because we need to fix
a picture in a frame. We will select a frame here, select that, and afterwards
just drag and drop here. And it will automatically
fit to the area. You can just double-click and adjust that further
if you want to increase the size of your image and place
it anywhere you want. Like this. That looks perfect. If you want to add some
more effects, e.g. this one, I got two elements. Let's see, you want to add
a little shine in there. So this one, you can use this element and place
it anywhere you want, where it looks nice. Let's say it looks nice. Here. Let's see. Now, we will give our
phone number here. Forward slash, right foreign. This can be used to reduce
the size and place it here. Let's match the color scheme. Now, it's very important in
Canva make this one as blue. And the space in yellow make this one
yellow and one blue. Like this. Reduce the size. Place it at the proper position. Now let's add your number. Go to text for that. Just remember that if it is not the main text off
the complete image, like special offer
some bigger text. We will always use
subheading for that. And we will add our number here and just move it where you want, aligned with it and make
sure it is visible now. So change the color to
something visible like white. And if this dots are confusing, then place it lit up like this. So you can reduce the
transparency of this one as well. And please sit like this. So as you can see
that you can design the post just in
couple of minutes. Although we are
teaching all of this, it only took us
like ten to 15 min, even with explaining all this. Once you know all the tools and how to use the
right functions, you can do it in 5 min
or less than that. Now if I want to download
this in high-quality form, I can just click on Share
and click on Download, click on a JPEG and
click on Download. Finally, right
here, watch banner. So it will look something
like this. Looks nice. If you spend some more time
with it, with creative ideas, you will get more professional
in your designing sense. See how simple it is to
use some of the tools and create a wonderful design
or boost for your business.
22. Working With Backgrounds in Canva: In this lesson, we're
going to talk about the backgrounds that you
can find right here. If you are in the
template editing screen, which you can find by
clicking on Create a design and you can click on presentation that I clicked. And then you will come
across this blank page. From here on the
bottom left corner. You will find the backgrounds. But before discussing
the background's, actually let's go through the elements and some
of their options. If you remember, we have gone through in detail
with the grids. If you want to add a grid
in the blank canvas, you can just click
on it and it will be filled in the whole area. Then you can customize
the size of it, right? And then if you
want to click and drag a photo in this area, it will automatically fit in
once you drag and drop it. And maybe after
that, if you want to reduce the transparency, you can do something like this and create your own design, basically, whatever you like. Then basically you will add a new page and that new page
will be completely blank. But backgrounds
doesn't work this way. First of all, we will delete this designing page and we
have the blank page again. Now one thing that I forgot
to tell you is that once you, let me just Control
Z, let's see, this is our image that we
have inserted in a grid. So let's see if I want to
get rid of this image. If I click on delete, you have the option to delete
an image or delete a grid. If we click on Delete Image, we have to delete
the grid separately. But if we delete on the grid, all of the stuff will be removed immediately and you will find this option on the
canvas right here. So let's just get
rid of the grid. Now for the background feature, it acts literally differently. Because in the grids
you have the option to either fill the
whole page or you can resize and fill the partial one and then
insert the image in here. But because background
are meant to fill the whole
canvas by default, once you click on
any background, it will be filled
completely and there is no option to re-size it
or reduce the size of it. And also when you
insert a new page. So basically, let's see
some of the options that we have in the backgrounds. We have all these
different cool designs. E.g. if I select this one, if I double-click, you have the option to move up or down. Similarly, for this, you have the option to
either move up or down. But basically you cannot resize it lower than the
size of the canvas. Once, if I need a new page, I can insert it from
here at the beach. Once you need a good new beach, you can simply
click on Add Page. And basically you can
simply duplicate the page. And then you can click
on these three dots. If you want to follow this
background through all pages, Let's duplicate the page. Again. When ever you insert any image, any background, or any element. Once it is in the Canvas, you will always get this Edit Image option
on disposition. And you can apply different
filters through it. You can adjust the brightness, saturation, whatever
you want basically. So we have some of
these formats as well. And you can adjust
the brightness and contrast and saturation, whatever you want basically. So these are some further customizations that you can try. Now, if I want to use the photo as a
background, Let's see. Recently used. Let's see. Let's see this is the
background that I want to use. If I drag and drop it, it will. It's going to snap in the whole area when we
click on the corner. And again now it is set as a background if you
want it to, if not, snap to the corner,
but as a picture, you can just keep
it to the center. Don't go around the corners. So it will not snap
the whole page. Again, if you want to
duplicate this further on, you can just click on these three dots and
click on Duplicate page. And even you can follow
a short key that is Control D for all the new pages. Let me just get rid of that. Now, one important thing while using the backgrounds is e.g. if you are using, let's say oranges
as your background. Okay? So this is, let's
say our background. After you have made a background with certain color scheme, let me just get rid of this. Let's see. Afterwards you want
to add an element. You will go to elements and let's see if I want this trip. So most of the time it will follow any kind of color scheme
that this background has. Basically, you have
all the brand colors or for two colors option here. So you can easily match the text with the
background right here. Similarly, let's say
this is my background, or let's say this
is my background. So once I selected this, now let's try this shape. You can see that
some of these colors are automatically read from the background and is set here. Again, if I want to
click on this colors, you can see all the photo
colors used in the background. So it's basically very easy
to create the post this way since it automatically
suggest different color used. And then of course you will
add your text and you will create it in a particular
v, Let's say this one. So as you can see that
since the element is already falling
this color scheme, once I inserted the x, it is starting to adopt
a professional look. So these are just
small tools that you need to learn in order to smartly handled the
future projects that we will discuss here. So that's how you can work
with backgrounds in Canva.
23. Working With Photos: Now the next thing
that we are going to discuss here is the photo step. To discuss that I need
a clear canvas here. So like I said, it's easy to
get rid of all this stuff. You can just click
on Delete Page and you have the fresh
canvas right here. Now let's discuss
about the photos tab. Just keep in mind
that if you want to use the photos that
you have uploaded, you will not come in
this section to find it. You will go to either upload
section to find your photos. This is photos are basically
where you are searching for the stock photography that you might want to
use in your project. And the best thing about Canvas, there are a lot of stock photos and scenarios that you
can avail for free. A lot of them are free, some of them are paid as
well as you can see here. But most of them are free. So basically it's a
great way to save time. Obviously, if you can't
find the stock images here, you need to download it from Google images or
some other websites. It will take some time to
download and get those images. Like e.g. if you want to create a birthday flyer really quickly, let me just try
and other design. Since we are creating a flyer, we will search for
the flyer portrait. And now we let see if I want
to design a birthday Flyer. I'll go to photos and click
on here and write birthday. And you can get a lot of
backgrounds for free. Some of them are paid, actually, most of them are paid. But again, you can use
a lot of them for free. And if you want
to make sure that it is under the
same orientation, you can write vertical here, apply filters, and
then you will find a suitable images that you can
place directly right here. Now, although this photos
area is pretty basic, we will still learn what we can do to customize it
in a smarter way. So let's see if I want to
design something here. Let's see, click on this one. Once you insert the photo, if you click on it, you will see these handles here. The corner handles means
that you can proportionally re-size the photo to the smaller
size or the larger size. And this one means that you are basically
cropping the image. If the image is larger one, you can see it all here. E.g. let's say some
vertical image so that you can understand
it in a proper way. E.g. some of the images, Let's see. Let's say this one. So this one is reused to
proportionally resize it. If I use this handle, you can see that it is
used to crop the image. So e.g. if I want the
image up to this point, only, you can simply
crop it like this. And if we move it up
or down from here, it will proportionally
resize it the whole image. But if we use this option, it is also used to
crop the image. Again, we will double-click
to see the whole image. E.g. if you want to adjust the image within this area that you have defined
just right now. So let's say you want
this kind of image. So what you can do is basically double-click and start
moving the images. It will show the background
and just went over it. And once you click
anywhere outside the box, it will set the
image right here. So basically what we
have seen is about the handles from these
corner round dots. You're not just
adjusting your image, but you are reducing and
increases in the size of basically the whole frame
in the same proportion. Once you use this handled, it can be used to
crop the image. And again, just double-click
is used to adjust the image anywhere within
that defined range. Now, there are some other
settings as well, e.g. if you want to flip your image, you can flip it like this. Lip horizontally. You can flip, flip it
vertically like this. So you can notice the
direction is changing. Now under edit image. Again, you can edit
all of these settings. You can apply filters to it. You can adjust the brightness,
contrast, saturation. You have some more options. If you click on the
option dietary, again for the food images, particularly if
you take shots of your images by your own and you're not using
the stock photos. Even if you click on the
upload and click on the image, it will be inserted
in the same way. Then you might need to enhance the colors
specifically for, for promotion or
restaurant promotion. You might need to edit it
and make it more photogenic. Let's see. You need to enhance the colors so you
can do it like this. It's not always nice, but for some particular images, it might be upgrade option. And again, if you want to
apply filters instead, let me just get rid of
this and make it none. For the filters, you can
basically use all of these. And as you can see
for the food images, it kinda looks nice. Then we have this, the original photo
looks like this, and the festive looks like this. And then we have all the
other options as well, depending on the
type of the food, we can always add the filter to make it
look more appealing. Again, you can make some
more adjustments to it. One, once you finalize your filter that is
increasing or decreasing, then intensity, as you can see, you have the controls here. If we click on it, you can set the intensity
of that filter. So that is pretty cool and that is very convenient as well. You don't need to use Photoshop if you're not a professional
graphic designer, these kind of softwares
are little bit tougher than Canva, as you all may know.
24. Elements Tab Grid Shapes Frames and Other Graphics: In this video, we are going to discuss all about
the Elements tab, which we can find right here. So on the project interface, you can open the Elements tab. Now here you can find lines and shapes, graphics stickers, photos, videos, audios,
charts, tables, frame scripts. So basically we
have all the tools available to create a beautiful
design for ourselves. But we already know that we
can learn best by example. So let's jump into the project and see what example do we have? E.g. if I want to use the grids and I want
to see more of them, you can just click on see all. And you have all the grades
of a labeled right here. And whenever you
want to get back, you can click on this
backwards from here. Or otherwise you can directly
click on the Elements. Let's go back to grids. Now, whenever I drag and
drop it to my main screen, most of the times it will
fill the whole screen, but you can resize to
any size you want. And like I said in the previous
video, from the corners, where these round
handles are given, you can just expand and reduce the image
size proportionally. And these handles are used
to crop the image basically. Now, if you want to
place the images here, you can just simply
drag and drop. And it will snap to the defined area that you
have selected for your grid. And again, if you want to re-size or adjust the
image within this grid, you can always double-click
and adjust that accordingly. Let's see how it impacts when we use the image of a
specific person. Let's say this one. Now, let's see the impact. You can adjust it like this. And if you want to crop it, you can do it like this. And again, if you want to focus just on the particular thing, you can reduce the canvas
size and then you can increase the image by double-clicking it
to fit like this. And afterwards, if you want
to add it to your design on the top by after
leaving this margin. And then let's say I want to add a text here
in the alignment. Obviously it shows the
alignment and positioning. You can to create a
design like this. So all these are the
small tools that will be helpful in
creating your design. So we have a lot of
choice in the grids. We have only sampled one, but it totally depends
on your image style. Maybe you need this kind of collage for your design
or any design you want. You can check out grids and you can experiment with these. But basically the concepts
will remain the same. And most of the time
you will be using only the single grid that
we can see on the top. So I don't need to explain this. It's pretty basic. Let's move to what are the elements do we have
in the elements section? Now after this grid style, you can also check
out the frames, although it will work in
the same way as the grids. But grids are most of the
times in the simple design. While in frames you will find many designs that you can
use for your project. So you can see there are
lots and lots of them. Obviously you need your
own designing sense to build that properly. So e.g. if instead of this grid, let's see if we use this image. And after that, we want
to insert this picture. And then we will adjust
that. Something like this. So it can appear like this. And again, if you want to
do something very artistic, you can use frames for that. Let's see this one. Afterwards. You will go to photos. You can just Let's see. Okay, this will not
fit in e.g. this one. You can see how cool it looks. You can use many images. So this is the beauty
of the frames. Some other options
that we have in elements is the shapes. And shapes are pretty
self-explanatory, but let me just go
through it quickly. E.g. if I insert
this kind of shape. So it has a particular design where it has borders
on the corner. Whenever you insert a shape
that has borders in it, or some kind of different
color schemes used in it. As soon as you select that, you will see all the color
customizations here. You can make all the customization
you want for yourself. Let's say like this one. And obviously you
have a lot and lot of options that you can
try and experiment with. Let's go back and let's see what other
options that we have. We have graphics here, we have audio tables, some collections of the images. If you want to design
something for your gym. Friendly art stem collection. Here we have some graphics
as well. You can use. So that's it for the elements. In this video, we have basically discussed more
elements like grids, frames, shapes, and
some of the graphics. Although give already used that in our previous designs as well. But it's always better to
discuss all of that separately.
25. Text Customizations: In this lesson,
we're going to talk about the text in Canva. So we need to go to
create a design. And let's see, I want to
create a Facebook post. So once you are in your project, you will find the text
option on your left here. If you want to increase
your working space here, you can just always hide that increase the
size of your project. So once we click on this text, you will see some
default heading styles here where you can
add the main headings, subheading, and the little
body text that you want. And if you scroll down further, you will see this all cool fonts that you can use
for your designs. Some of them are obviously paid and some of them are free. So these are all the
presets that you can use. And sometimes if you want a particular preset for
your text to be inserted, there are some samples, e.g. 35 per cent, you are telling some ratio about our research. So this texts have some actually the Texas whites or I need to change the background color,
let's say this one. So afterwards you can
change the sample text. And similarly, like
let's say you want to add e-mail and web data
is a preset for that. You want to define your
brand and eat dinner party. So we have all the presets here. If you explore that
more in detail, you will find a lot of them. Like here, very
important, talk to us, or a date or subject
for your leisure. What kind of menu alignment
for your business? Now you can also use this search text feature to search the texts that
you are looking for. And if you don't quite know, this text is suitable for you, you can actually hover
over to that text. And if I click on these
three dots after that, this is the name of the text and some more details about
what it is suitable for. Similarly, this one is text
holder or a memo address. These are all the
relevant keywords. So e.g. if you want to add
quotes to your design, I'll write codes here. And let me just get rid of this. Let's see if I
insert this squat. And then you can simply change
the text the way you want. So you don't have to spend much time if you want to design your code for a European
or for your group, you can simply pick any design
and just customize that. You don't need much
time to think over it. You have all the designs
readily available for you. So it's really cool. You
can experiment around with all the text types
that you have here. You can try typing
different keywords here, e.g. let's say menu. So these are the
relevant details. So it will really save your time to create all
by herself from scratch. Instead, you will just
insert your textiles. You have all the customize
what is in big, bigger texts. What is it in smaller text? And it is exactly the
way you required. You just have to customize
the texts words. There is one other thing that
we'll see a lot of time. Let me change the background
back to the original one. And let's see if I go to the text and insert
this kind of texts. Obviously you can use this controllers to
increase the size. Let's see you further
customized it, e.g. if you go to the document color, you can choose your own
custom color that you like. And let's say some more customizations
that you have made, like italic or something. And afterwards, you want, you want this other texts to be customized in the
same we'd like this. So what you can do
is you will just select this one and use
this copy style option. And as soon as you click
on that other decks, it will be converted in
the same way as this one. So it can save a lot of
time to customize the text. This option is similar to Format Painter if you
have used word or excel. And again, if you talk about
the other options that we have in this text when
we're customizing it. You have the option. When you select the text, you have the option to
change the text styles. You have the option to
customize the size. You can play with colors, bold, italic, some alignments. And of course we have
the spacing option and the bullet points if you want to add the
most important one when you are creating, especially like a
post or a YouTube, I might say, you can
actually go to effects and add different styles to it. E.g. you can add. Some shadow kind of design
lift or the most important one that I liked the most and used most of the times
are the background. You don't need to add a separate element or shape
for it and then add the text. You can do both of
it in the same step. Now you might be
thinking that whenever you insert this background, It's always rounded
around the corners. So you can reduce the roundness
and you can make it flat. Then you can change
the color if you want. E.g. something like this. Or let's give it more
attractive colors. Let's make it dark. So you can make it like this. And furthermore, we have a lot of other options that you can, you can reduce the transparency, you can change the colors. You can change the shape of
the text and make it curved. The spread is here,
the overall spread of the sheep around the corners. So these are all the options
that you can play with to get the better idea
of all these options. And again, often a light
say that you want to write paragraph for this topic. We want to go to Text and let's directly search
paragraph instead of thinking that how the
paragraph will look like and how will you
further design that? You can actually write? Better graph right here. Now when you write a paragraph, you will see a lot of fonts. You just have to directly
scroll right at the bottom. You can use these
paragraphs or yourself. Again, the background
should be black, I guess. So it will look
something like this. And if you want to
change it to the black, you can select this and change
the text color to black. And let's change the
background now to white. So again, this will
be pretty convenient. You don't have to decide what text you will
give on the heading. Let's get rid of this
one because this includes heading as well.
So this is heading. You can just change the text. And this is a sub-heading. This is the body of
the text and this is some website for your reference. And you can also
notice that all of these is grouped in here. So even if you want
to ungroup these, you can choose to do that. And then you can move the
text anywhere you want. So all these options, all, there's nothing
technical in this stuff, but it's good that
we come across all these options
that we can use. Most of the times, we are using the options
that we know of. But when you come across
the different options, you might be using when you create your designed
to save your time. And some of the
other options that we want to discuss here, although we have
already used that functions and that is e.g. if you want it to be uppercase, for all, you can just
go to these three dots. You can click here. And we can change between these. And for the body, we can change the alignment
to left align, right align. And we have to justify
it one as well, where it balances on both sides. So that is how you can
do with text in Canva, hope you understand
all the concepts well, just rectus that and I'll
see you in the next video.
26. The More Tab: Now let's wrap up things with
one more feature of Canva. And that is the more dab if you go on a
design and let's see if I click on anything
like YouTube thumbnail. So when I am in
this blank sheet, on the left-hand side, I have all the options
like templates, elements, all the
other features. And on the last we have more. So what you can do is you can connect your YouTube account. You can connect
Google Maps with it. And if we scroll down, you can connect with
Instagram account and bring all your
photos from Instagram, from Google, Photos from
Facebook directly here. So for YouTube case, it might import the images
and it might play as well. But when you download, it might not work with the same features as in
the YouTube video, e.g. if I clicked on it, it says, add YouTube videos
to your designs, make reduce a seamless part
of your next presentation. So it might work in the
light presentation, but you won't be able to
download it if we click on use and e.g. we use this one. So double-click to interact. We can play it here directly
from the presentation. But when we download this, even in the mp4 format, it will be downloaded like this. Like a static image. So particularly for
YouTube videos, it might be useful
when you are creating our presentation
template that you can find here, like
presentations. As you already know that
presentation consists of a lot of pages you can see
here as well, one out of 15. So there are many
pages like this. So that's essential
if you want to show some YouTube video within
your presentation, you can directly link it from the More tab and you
have all the options. So for some more features, you have all the pixabay
Flickr pixels option from where you can
directly get the images. You can also use
emojis if you want to. You can click here and you
will find lots of emojis here. You can use any of
them like this. Just click on it and it
will be on your design. Now, some of the features,
I'm telling you, you might not use that, but obviously it's giving you more and more insights of what assets that you
can use in Canva. So the designing sense totally depends on the collection of assets that you can
use in your design. And then obviously,
you will need your personal designing skills in order to use that tools. But for that, we
need to get through all of the features
that Canva offers. Now let's see what other
features do we have is you can use videos, charts, you can
access to folders. You can add QR codes. You can create your own QR
code that is scannable. Then you have all the images
to choose from pixels. You can write any
particular one, like, let's say sports. So this is all
related to sports. So they might be of great use when you're creating
your design. And most particularly
if you have all the collection
of your images, your teams saved in your
Google Drive or Google Photos. It will be very smart to connect your Canva account withdraw box with Google Photos
or Google Drive. That way, you can have access
to thousands of templates and images that you have saved already on your Drive accounts. So in that way, Let's
see if you have a friend who is a
designer and he has a lot of designs and asserts already
collection of assets created. So you can take that
all from him and upload it in your collection and then simply
connect Canva with it. This will help you a lot in creating the
designs instantly. So as we have seen
some more features of it and we have already seen
some projects as well, like creating of his book, Boston's, something like that. But now that we
have completed all, almost all of our journal
assets that Canva offers. Now we will create some
more practical projects in our future videos. From this predicts what we're actually going to learn is how to make yourself more FUN
when creating a design. I'll see you in the next video.
27. Challenge Exercise 2: Welcome to and other
challenge exercise that you need to complete. There are some simple
tasks mentioned here, so just read through them
and dried by yourself. Don't think of it
like a homework is really just to lock in your skills that you
have just learned. These are very
simple requirements that you can easily deal with. And once you are
able to deal with, then move to the
next section to see all the answers to that
challenge exercises. So with this video in
the resource section, I've attached this word file. Just copy and paste the link
in the browser like this, and then click on Use Template. You will be able to use
this template like this. So just try it by yourself and I'll see you
in the next one.
28. Challenge Exercise 2 Answers: Okay.
29. Resizing the Template for All Platforms with a Single Click: In this session,
we're going to talk about a very
important feature and very amazing feature of a
Canva and that is Resize tool, although this option is only available in Canva pro version, but I'll also show you a work around for
the free version. But right now, let's
discuss the pro features that can more
offers for the Resize tool. Imagine that we have this simple design of a
post or a business flyer. So basically this tool comes
into play where we have a single design
you want to use on multiple platforms
like Facebook banner, for YouTube, for Instagram post. You can resize it all in a single click according
to all platforms. So obviously all that
platforms will have different dimensions and it will adjust it accordingly
for the each platform. So let's take this
design for the example, and let's see that
if you want to export it or make copies of
it for different platforms, how can we do that? So this is our design. I'll go to the Resize
tool on the top. And here you can see all
the dimensions that you can convert it to n poster. You can convert in Facebook
cover, Instagram post logo, Instagram story, resume, A4
document, brochure, postcard. I want that. So basically all the possible
options you have in here. So it's very
effective if you are providing a designing
services for your client. So this tool is very effective, especially if you are providing the freelancing services
to a client with all the package of different dimensions for
a particular design. So let's select a
couple of options. So let's click on
copy and resize. That's the option
that you only want to click and click on,
continue editing. It says click on
pop-up blocked and check any sheets because it will open up the different
designs in different dabs. And I think I need
to select that again before the settings
was not enabled. So let's try some options and then click on Convert again. Continue editing. Here
it says pop-ups blocked. Always allow all the pop-ups done and click on
Copy and resize. And there we go. We have all the designs
created according to the different templates
are just there to all the sizes that we
want them to be in. If you feel anything, is not just looking
right according to the template or the
size of the post, e.g. this one is a particular
format of a brochure. So you might need
to adjust that. This tool is basically
making its best guesses. Obviously, if you feel that
something is not just right. So you can adjust that according to your particular dimensions. But basically what it does is it will convert that
specific design into different
templates according to the dimensions that you
want them to be in. And again, this tool
is available for the Canva pro only if you
are using the free version. You need an other
way around for that, although it's not
very effective, but we have Ave.
I'll show you here. So to see how we
can deal with that, if you have only
the free version, Let's go back to the
original design. So after the main template, what you can do is you have
to do it manually altogether. You will create, let's say, if I want to create
Instagram post, let's say. So, I'll click on this. It will be converted
to an Instagram post. And then I'll
select Control a to copy all of these details here. And the new blank template, I'll select that and
paste it right here. So obviously after that, it will not centralize. You have to decide
it by yourself. You have to press
control it here as well, and you have to
manually adjust that according to what
settings you need. It will not
automatically resized like it did before
for Canva pro. So again, this is not
the actual solution, especially if you want to
create lots and lots of templates and adjust the
design according to that, We take a lot of time. But still, if you're
using the free version for your minimal
designs and you're not providing the
professional services, then it might just work for you. But if you are a professional who needs to provide that
services to the client, obviously the free version will work for you because
it will take a lot of time to adjust the single
template according to all the other social
media platforms or to the different dimensions. Now, again, let's discuss the features of the pro version. That is, e.g. if you are using a video, the videos can also be resized according to any template
that you want, e.g. this is my template. This is a video. Now one cool feature
of the Resize tool is it just not only
work in the post, but it also works in
your videos, e.g. if you have any video like e.g. let's use any video,
e.g. this one. And if I want to resize
it to an Instagram post, as you can see, it's
horizontal right now. I'll click on resize
and then just scroll down to make it an
Instagram post copy and resize. And it will be
adjusted right away. And see how perfect
that just meant is it automatically fits
all the objects according to the
required design. So that is the power of
the Canva pro features. Now, obviously, since this
image is of more size, you can just double-click
if you want to adjust the background
here and there. And then you can edit. But the best feature of
the Resize tool it is it intelligently places
all the objects and adjust the size accordingly, which will obviously the
manual copy and paste, work and phosphorylating
the bank blank template and then pasting over that
and then readjusting. Obviously, it takes a lot
of time that you can see from the research tool simply
by getting into Canva pro. I hope this tool is also
being helpful for you. And I'll see you
in the next one.
30. Working With Filter Codes and Color Grading: In this lecture, we are
going to learn how you can apply filters to your photos and how you can use that
custom preset that you create for one photo
to other ones as well. So when you click and
select this photo, we have right here, you
will get these options. You can edit the image, crop, flip, and animate. So I'll go to Edit Image. There. I will find all the adjustments if you want to change
the brightness, contrast saturation,
things like that. If you want to apply filters, we have our filters tab as well. So when you click on
filter by default the photos filters
will come as none. But when you drag over and change it to
different filters, you will see the color changing. And filters are applied
to the current picture. And when you select any particular image of
the filter like festive, you will notice that there is an adjustment kind
of symbol here. So if you double-click, you will have the option
to change the intensity of that filter so that
you can just manually. So when we are done with
a particular filter, you will notice that
if you go back to your photos and you apply any other image
as a replacement, you will have the
same color grading or filters applied to the
new photo as well. So any picture that
you drag, now here, it will have the same filter
applied to that as well. Now let's learn
about the adjustment of the filters in much detail. If we click on the edit and
we've clicked on filters. By default, from Filters, you only get the option to double-click and change
the intensity right here. But if you want to see the
customization of it further, what do we want do is
just click on edit image, filter is already applied
and click on adjust. This is the current setting
off that particular filter. So you can see that from
the normal brightness, it increase, it by nine. Contrast is increased to
this taint x process. So you can change all of
that manually as well. And then your custom filter
will be ready for you. So to test these numbers, let's see that right
now, it's 918.21. Just remember that 918.21. If I change in density
too much slower, and then check the edit image. And it just meant, you will
notice that the numbers change to be lesser than that. So that intensity has the direct impact on all
the settings of brightness, contrast, saturation,
whatever you call it. So these are some of
the settings that are automatically made by
changing the intensity, but you can manually
adjust however you like. And then you can see
if your custom preset. So we can actually ease and decrease all of these
manually as we like. But let's say that this is the perfect look
that you want for your filters and most of the images because you want to use a blurred
background for it. And after adjusting
all of these settings, you said to yourself, Okay, that's it, That's perfect. This is what I want
for my picture. So if you scroll down
with the settings, you will see are filled record. You will also notice that as
I change the settings here, that filter chord
changes with that. So that means this
filter good is based on all of these sliders right here that we make
in the adjustment. So once your final
image is ready, you can just copy
this filter gourd. So in order to see if this, there's no default option
to save this directly. What you can do is just
delete this picture. And let's select
an insert a text here and just change this
text to this filter code. And if you want to see
something about that, you can write here. High contrast blur. Let's say this one is our God. So as you can see here that
it will be saved in here. You can change the
name to filter codes. And now if I go back
to my home page, you have this image right here. Maybe on the refresh it
will show a thumbnail. It's not showing the thumbnail. No worries. Now, whenever we want any image to be set
on these settings, we will just come in here, copy this filter code, and let's apply it to, let's say if I want to
create a YouTube thumbnail, I will insert a picture. And then in the edit
image and adjustments, I'll just select and delete this filter code
and paste this one. You can see that all
of the settings are adjusted for this
particular filter cord. So this is a little hack on
how you can save your time to avoid customizations each time
for our particular images. Rather, you can save your filter codes and write
something about that. And whenever a similar picture
comes for you to design, you can apply that
filter code in there. And if you want to
be more efficient, you can create custom
templates right in here, e.g. every now and then you want this blurred image for
some of your posts. And let's add a new page. Now, e.g. for a new image, normally need some
manual adjustments. Let's make some
manual adjustments. So e.g. this is the settings
for some other images. And let's create an other one. And for this, let's
say these settings. And under the Edit Image, I'll make some adjustments here. Now, the benefit of these
three versions is this can be used as a template or
settings for all the images. Now, if we want any
image to be blurred, like this coffee image, I'll simply go to the corner and it will automatically
replace the image. Like this. You will
notice that it is with all of these settings
and with the blur here, it simply replaces that. Similarly, if I want any image to be adjusted
on this pattern, I can simply drop it here. And it is with all the
colors settings that I set. Similarly for this one. Whatever I drag here and
replace as an image, it will be with that
filters that I made. So this is the quickest way to apply filters to your post. Basically do color grading with a preset or filters
that you will just drag and drop with new
image to replace the image and set
the new image on the same filter settings. So that's how you
can efficiently use the filter codes and the
filter settings that you create as a template with different images to use it
most efficiently on Canva, I hope you liked this
trick and where they said, let's move to our next topic.
31. Changing Colour Scheme for All Project in a Click: In this video, I'm
going to talk about a very important
topic and that is changing all instances
of color at once. So all the, we have
discussed color grading in detail in the previous
videos as well. But in case if I have
missed this one, let me tell you that thing. I have inserted a presentation from the presentation
screen off the main beach. So select presentation, you
can select any presentation. And in that case, I selected this one. E.g. I want to use this one, apply to all 12 pages. And let's suppose that your company color scheme is different from what is
used in the presentation. You want this presentation, but your company
default color scheme is something like blue
or red or whatever. You want to change it for
all the presentation. As you can see here, that there's not only
one involved here. There's are a lot
of pages that you want this color scheme to change it if you want
to change on one. So to change that, simply, you will
select this color. You will go to this
color palette and you will change the color you
want them to change into. And you will click, click on this magic option and
that is changed all. Once I click on it, it will change it according to your brand colors
that you've just selected as sample here. And click all of
the colors in each presentation changes
according to your set color as the sample. See how cool it is. And if you don't
know these features, just consider how much time
it will take you to manually adjust all the sheep colors to adjust it to
your brand colors. So these are some of the
tips and techniques that can save you a lot of time
to create your designs. Now, just consider a
scenario that for one page, I don't want to change
their color theme. So what I can do here is I
can come to this page, e.g. and then lock the speech. Now, let's move to the first slide of the
presentation and let's consider that my brand color
is something like yellow. And now I want it to
change it for all. Let's click on Change all. So it changes it for all
the presentation slides, except for this one
because it was locked. So this is the best way
to change colors for all your presentation or for your complete project
with just a single quick. I'll see you in the next lesson.
32. Color Helping Canva Tools: In this lesson,
I'm just going to show you some of the colors, resources that are
available to you in Canva, since color can be such an important
part of your designs. Now this design uses some
really bold color choices. Now, these kinds of designs
or colors may work sometimes, but you have to be
careful because a super bright colors like
this really strain your eyes. But what happens
when you just can't find the right color
choices for your design. In that case, Kendra is provided some tools
that we can use. So I'm just going to
jump to the new tab and write canva.com
forward slash colors. And here we have
different tools available that can help us with
the color choices. So here we go to
the color meanings. You can look into any
of these colors here. And it's gonna give
you more information about that color and about the cultural significance
and meaning of that color. What color is this? What does it look like? Different shades of it and
the history of this color. This could be very
important if you are trying to create
a mood and you're not sure what color really represents
that particular mood. And you want to do some
background research. So you jump into this option, canva.com slash colors, and you can do your research about
that particular color. So you can definitely
take advantage of that. But let me just go back and see the other option
that we have, and that is the color wheel. Now sometimes, as
we've said here, that you don't know what color
goes with the other one. So here, the color wheel
comes right into play. Now this is a really handy tool to decide what two colors are complementing each
other when you are making the color
choices for your design. Now, certain color naturally
compliments each other, so they're going to
work better together. So this is the main
purpose of color wheel. It gives you an idea
of what color codes with the other one and
complementing each other, you can choose different
color combinations as well. Complementary monochromatic,
alveolus, triadic, ketotic. I do want to go in
much detail here, but let's find what complimentary color does
and how to find one. So here on this page you have the color wheel here
and just you can drag around and you can see that complementary color
schemes change according to each other. So e.g. I. Want to use this color scheme. And also if we want to
make it darker or lighter, you can move the view from here. Once your color
wheel is finalized, at what point you find the color combination
to be just right. You can just easily copy this design or color
scheme you choose here. And you can use that
on your design, e.g. when I click on this page, it shows me this pink
background color. I'll paste my color here, and I'll choose that. Similarly, the four other one, like for the text,
I'll choose this. And under the color
picker in the text. Now I will paste this. And now let's use this
and change to all, all of the writing
texts will change. Similarly for this
one, change all. This is how your
design will look like. Although it's a little bit dark, but as you can see, it's not very odd color. These colors are
complementing each other. So if you're not satisfied
with the color brightness, you can change the brightness
and then try again, e.g. now if I want to
change this color to a little lighter and
to this one as well. What you can also do is leave
this color as it is, like, darker blue and change only this text color if you
view this one is little dark. So something like this. When you change here, choose this and change to all. It will show some color
schemes like this. So very easily you can
find the colors that can complement each
other and it will give you an idea of
the color combination. And as you get better and
better in the color selection, you can do the color
schemes by yourself. You don't need the
color wheel for it. But initially, if you don't have that much of
aesthetic sense, this tool can really
help you to do that. Now, e.g. if you change
this one to monochromatic, sometimes you want to choose. A different shade in the
same color scheme, e.g. this one, this is the lighter
version of that same color. So if you need both of
these in your design, it will show you the
choice that you can make to use that
monochromatic colors. And similar is with an alveolus. It will give you three choices of colors that
you can make in your design. Triadic is this one. Some opposite colors
that go with each other. And tetrodotoxin is for color choices that you
can use in your design. So as we move it
around Any place, it will give you the
choice of colors that you can use in a single design, which have four types
of colors used. Now we can go back to
the original screen, and now we will click on a
color palette generator. Here, it is going to pick
colors from the image that you upload or
try a demo page, e.g. if I upload any image, e.g. this post right here, it will give you all the colors used in
that particular image. So if you want to use an inspiration color to
create a design like this, you will automatically
get to know what colors schemes are used
in that particular design. And you have the code for each color to be
used in your design. So if you want to create
similar design by yourself, you will know the exact
color choices made in this, and you can easily follow that. Now, the last thing here
is color palette ideas. If you go in here, it will give you the range of colors that you can use
to create your designs. E.g. if you want to
create a business design, and this one looks nice to you, then these are the
four color choices that you can use
in your designs. You can make market as
favorites for future use. And basically, as you
practice through it, you will get better
at color selections. You will get better and
better at color selections. Now e.g. if I write
something like business, it will show you all the
possible color choices that you can use in business. E.g. Christmas. Here are the color choices
for the Christmas. So these are some of the
explore tools that you can work on to find the better
selection of the colors. So this is it. These are the tools basically that will help
you if you're stuck in your design and you
don't know what color scheme that you can use or
you can experiment with. You can definitely take
advantage of these tools. Now, just one more suggestion is sometimes the colors that you selected are too bright
and too multiple colors. And in that case, sometimes just the simple
colors might work for you, e.g. on white. Always, whenever you are stuck in the background
pages try white or black. And it will definitely produce some incredible
results that you can use to instantly get your
design to an ideal team.
33. Using Search Filters in Canva: Now in this lesson
we are talking about the search for Ukraine. Now, we have discussed some of that in the earlier videos, but just for your
reference or reminder, I'm explaining it again. You have this search bar here. Whenever you want
to search in any of the section under elements, under uploads, you have
the search bar right here. So e.g. if I want to see something like
business templates, it will definitely search for all the business templates
that I can use in my designs. But men be talking
about more options. I can click here. I can choose the language, you choose the color scheme
that I want is preferable. Similarly, Lee, in
the elements e.g. if I write, let's say
business here again. So you can filter it further. When you write business here, you can choose any
particular colors that you want your
elements to be in. You can use the
orientation shape, like square, vertical
or horizontal. You can write it that you want the elements to be
static or animated. So you can apply these
filters and it will give you better results in
selection of your tools. So similarly, like e.g. for photos, I can search for particular photo and
change the color scheme. Change the selection
or orientation, and cutouts only apply filters. So these are some of the
filters that I applied. And now I have
choices like this. So when ever you apply filters, you will see the
number of filters you applied right here. And when ever you want to reset, you can just click on this filter tab and
click on Clear all. And it will be reset to the
original search filter. That search filter in Canva, just an other quick
way to work through your projects or
find the elements that you need to
use in your design.
34. Creating Facebook Cover Photo From Scratch: In this lesson, we're going
to create a Facebook cover. And as a starting point, you can use some templates of it and you can easily
customize that. But even if you want
to start from blank, you have enough knowledge now to create a design by
your own from scratch. So I'll click on
Create a design. And right here, facebook. And here we have Facebook cover. When ever you select
any design by default, what you see on the
right is a blank canvas. If you want to use any
template as a starting point, you can use it from here. What you can do is you can
select any of these designs and make it your own by customizing the
information right here. So let's say you want to design this one for the
restaurant business. So in that case, this is
the financial design. So this background image
doesn't make much sense here. So I can delete that. And you have the option to
use your own elements here. But even if you want
to use this one, you can continue with this. Now, let's say that I want it
for my restaurant business. So instead, you can use
this as your image. Like the restaurant team missed. Something like that. If you feel that you need
a little lighter design, you can try different
designs here. What works for you? You can change the textiles. Now, let's say that I want
to use this all options, but the color scheme
should be different. So in that case, right now, I'm using this one. Let's move it to
some other scheme, like this is for text. Let me just zoom
it a little bit. And then select this box. Teens the default color to, let's see something like this. Now, if you want
to change for all, you can click on Change all. And it will be chained
for all of the design. See how quickly you have to customize your design according to your requirement. And similarly, if you
change the texts scheme, let's see, for one, you make it white. You can change it for all. And boom, your design is
ready within seconds. Now, in order to learn this designing sense
more properly, what we will do is, let's say this one
is our final design. So what I'll do is now I tried to create the similar
design from scratch. So what we will do is we
will use a Facebook cover. That's it. This is
the blank canvas. First of all, I want this, this particular design
like this kind of shape. So let's go to elements, and let's go to this frames and scroll
down for a similar one. Now, if you can't find
the similar design, what you can use is you can use some similar designs like e.g. this one, I copied it here
and I pasted it right here. So that if the other
ones suits well, you can use that one as well. E.g. like this. Now let's insert a photo here. Or let's go with
making this background as darker and change it
to little more dark. Now let's use the
restaurant team here. Something like this. Okay, now, this text right here. As I told you that
Antonio board and 73.3, you can note that and
you can create it by yourself as well. Antonio. Board. And 73 is the size. You can make it white. And there are some other
settings as well. It's boring. And it has some effects as well. It has shadows. And you can check some other
customizations as well. Now like right restaurant. But as we can see that this image right here
is blur and dark. And since we have
used the same image, but here it is not blur. So as I told you that, you need to lighter that team. And if you want to apply
some filters to it, you can do so. I just change the blur, something like this. Team-based. Now this is Britney. So add a heading again and
change this team to Britney. Team. Based. Again. You need some effects in here. Now for these circles, you can use is right type forward slash here
and right circle. And search it in,
let's say graphics. No, actually I want to
search it in the frames. Let's write frames here. And this one is the ideal one. Now I want three frames
to ordinate, hold, ordinate, make a copy, alternate and make a copy. Now once we changed the
color scheme of one circle, you can actually do the same
for all the other ones. Now, we will insert
some people here. So people or person. Let's use some of the
images like this. Now we want to define these. Make all the other
images smaller. Make sure they are in
the perfect alignment. Now we will see the
text size here. It's string D for an open sense. So let's insert a heading. Let's add a subheading. It's trendy for, and it's
open sense in board. So that is perfect. Let's keep it here. Now let's define that. It says guest speaker. And then the other
one might be same. So you can make a copy of it. And these ones are in
all the capital letters. For capital letters, I
also explain you that the select the text and from
here change the case. From these three dots. Change that to uppercase allele. Similarly, now, when it's final, you can easily make
the copy of these two. This n like this. Moderator and again
guest speaker. So this design is not
similar to this one, but it is having
some resemblance. And still it looks very nice. And more or less similar even, you can make some further
adjustments if you want. So these are the
veterans that we can use and this is the best way to learn to create design that you might want to
try it by yourself. Just try it by yourself and you will get to know all
the tools and how that can be practically used
when creating the design. Similarly, if you want to use this boxes or create that boxes. Now for these boxes, I have two options. Either I can write 27
directly as a text, right? Print D7, like this. And make it work like go to effects and choose
a background color, reduce the roundness, and
change it to this color. Let's kinda look nights. You can use Antonio board and to new board. Now, it will look like this. If you want to reduce
the gap in the box, you can make that
settings as well. You can just reduce
the spread around. Now it's looking perfect. And the other taxes,
again Antonio board. So change it to this. Once we are finalized
with one design, it's very easy to
create the next one, we will just make copy
of this, December 2022. So December 2022. And now let's make
a copy of this. Let me lock this image so that it's easier
to select these. Because if it is unlocked, whenever I tried to
select this one, it might move from its place, so it's better to lock that. And then it will be very
easy to create a copy. And to insert the
time like this, I can hit forward slash here. And right time. This one is the shape
that I want to use and make this white. And what you can do is you
can type some space here so that it will still be treated as the text to select the text, to select the box, remove the texts and
write spaces here. So it will still
be considered as texts and then
bring the clock to the top and send the
sheep to backwards. They should do the work. And if you want to reduce the
size and do that as well, wherever it feels good. So as you can see
that more or less this design looks identical. And we have learned
how to practically use the tools that we have learned to create some
wonderful design.
35. Creating a Resume in Canva: In this lesson, we're going
to learn how you can create our resume on canva.com. So it's always better
to take advantage of the predefined templates
that we already have. So in this way, it
is very easy to customize any template
and make it your own. So to find a template, offer resuming, you
can write here resume. So here are the couple
of templates or you can click on Create a design, right? Resume here. So just click on it. And
although on the right-hand side, you always get a blank canvas, but on the left-hand side, you will get a lot
of amazing templates of resuming that you can use to create your own e.g. this one. So if we zoom it a little bit, you can see that it looks very professional template
and you can easily customize everything here by adjusting your details in all
of these particular areas. So first of all, if you
want to make some changes, let's consider
creating a copy of it. Let's duplicate this page. So if you make a major mistake, you can still see what
default template do we have? From the second beat? Let's continue the editing. You can add in your picture here easily
to select this picture, delete that, and it
will be converted into a frame that you can use
to insert your own picture. Let's go to photos and
insert any passport photo, Let's say passport pictures. There we have it. Some of them are paid. Let's search anything
free available here. I can write portrait here. E.g. this is the image
that I want to use. So I will just drag
and drop here. It will automatically fit in. And if you want to
adjust it further, just double-click and
you can adjust that on any position you
want and then hit the click in the corner
so it will be fixed. Similarly, if you want
to change the name here, you can change the name. Similarly, you can change
the contact address. And all these fields are easily customizable,
as you can see, whenever you want to edit, just double-click and
change the details. Now, let's say that I want to change the color scheme
of this gray to blue. But how will I change
for all at once? We will apply here the knowledge that we have just learned in the previous videos. And that is just
select one shape as the sample and then change the color of that
particular shape. It will automatically ask you whether you want
to change it for all. Let's click on Change, all done. Similarly, let's try to
change the text color. If I change, let's say this
one too, darker color. And if I click on Change, all, all the heading styles will be automatically changed
to the darker colors. So that is how you can make easy customization
to your template. Here. Now, these all things, these shapes, these texts, these symbols are adjusted on a particular shape,
that is this one. And this is just a shape
that is separately inserted. So if you want to change the color scheme of
this one as well, since we have changed
the heading Scholar, you can select it
from the corner. And once you see that the
whole shape is selected, you can easily change to a lighter shade off
the blue color that suits our goals with the
overall resume look. So let's change it to a
lighter shade of the blue. And let's say this
one looks suitable. And similarly, if you
want to change the font, style or size of the particular details
that we have here. You can easily do that by changing one and then
applying it to all. But I recommend to keep all the details in
the same font, e.g. if I want to use this
Playfair display, I will use this. Let's change the size
to, let's say nine. And then when you see
this option of change, all, you will change all. And you will notice that all
of the designs have changed, although the text
size is similar, so that I believe you need
to manually adjust that. But otherwise, all the textiles are changed now to
Playfair display. But I believe you
won't be needing this because when you are using
the predefined templates, they are using the ideal font suitable for that
particular template. But whenever you need one, you can change and apply to
all simply by a single click. So that is the quickest
way of creating a professional
resume on Canva with just a few tricks that
you can use to quickly customize the
predefined templates on Canvas and make it your own.
36. Creating Social Media Designs Quickly: In this lesson, we're going to create a graphic
for Instagram post. Now, when we talk about Instagram or other
social media platforms, a lot of blogs or businesses basically use these
templates very often. That means that
they will be using the same pamphlets with almost the same
elements in each post. And the designs will also
be more or less similar. Only the text and images changes according to different
post, right? So in this video, we will learn the
concept of templating. That means whenever
you come across the similar projects
that you need to create for your business, or if you're providing
a service to accompany, you might create some versions
of the templates that you can reuse on the
similar projects. So in the search area
as a starting point, we will write Instagram post. And here is two types
of posts that we have. So let's add an Instagram post. So as you click in here, you will see a lot of templates
that are pre-defined. Templates that you can use. Some of them are paid, some of them are free versions. So as a starting point,
you might want to start off with a
predefined template. So let's click on this one
template of gym fitness. So afterwards, even
if you want to add a page and start it fresh, you can still do it. And if you want to use
some other template, you still have all the
other template options that we have on the
left-hand side. Now the concept of
templating is e.g. you might be using this template
for a couple of designs. So you might want to convert
this into a template. How can you do that? You will double-click
here and e.g. you see this picture and you can delete this picture and
keep the text only. So whenever you need to upload
or create a new post, e.g. this one, you might set it on the background like this and
you have a different post. Similarly, since this
template is pretty simple, one, I can choose any
other template, e.g. this one, I can use
another template which have a couple
of pictures as well. Now e.g. this one right here. Now, as you can see that
this template is made for financial freedom and a couple of pictures
are inserted. So what we can do is we can
create a template out of it. That means remove all
the extra pictures and leave them empty, even from the background,
removed this picture. So this is kind of template
that is readily available for us whenever you
want to recreate that. Now e.g. let's say I want
to create a travel post. I will write gravel in photos
and paste this one here. Maybe reduce the transparency
and then places to visit. And e.g. here, I want to
add some attractions. You can add these pictures
and this is how you can customize the boost on
the particular template. So not only these two, you can create a lot of templates and then remove
that pictures that you will customize in future for your post as and when you
need it similarity, e.g. this one right here.
If I add a new page, and this one is the template
that I want to use. You can keep the text and
you can remove the pictures. So this is one other
template that is ready. Now. So as you can see that
you can create many, many versions of that templates. So mainly what it will do is it will save you a lot of time to find some good templates relating to a particular
business, e.g. now that are all
dendrites are ready. I'll go to the homepage
and customize it. E.g. travel company
design templates. These are all the
templates that you can use for the travel company. So especially if you are a freelancer or you want
to be a graphic designer, or you want to start or
graphic designing business. So you might get clients that are related to a
particular industry. And most often it will be a
restaurant or travel agency, a gym or whatever. So all the common designs
is what you can save for them and then reuse that templates and provide services
to the other clients. It will not only save
you a lot of time, you can easily grab a lot of business from this technique. And it is not only restricted
to this post templates, it can be used to create
flyers, even resumes. You can create some
different templates and keep it all in the same area. But remember, whenever
you are reusing that template for a particular
gravel company, e.g. a. Company is, let's see, name is time travel. So I'll click on these three dots and
click on make a copy. Then you will rename that copy and make it change the name. And then work on this template. Otherwise, if you use
this mean template, it will be obviously converted. All the posts will be converted for that particular company. So it's always better to copy the designs from a
particular template, make a copy, and then start
working on the company posts. So in this way, let's see if you have a contract
with a restaurant, with a travel agency,
or with a gym, that you will handle their
social media page and you will upload one post regularly about their
current events, about their current promotions. So if you create like 30 to 40 designs for that
particular business, you can easily handle
their social media page. Because if you visit any page
on Facebook, on Instagram, lot of times only the
texts and images are changing and the basic
template will remain the same. That means you will need only 30 to 40 templates
that you can reuse and recreate by using different images and
different text styles. But the basic format
will be seen. So that is really helpful
in providing services to the clients and definitely helps in handling your
own business as well. Now what you can also do is e.g. you are providing or planning
to provide a service to a particular client related
to a particular industry. What you can do is visit some Facebook pages
related to that business, or visit some Instagram profiles related to that business. And see what kind of designs to take inspiration from them. Get those templates ready
on a single project. And then you can
easily quickly use that templates for any business
of the similar nature. So this is a quick hack
to save your time. And let's move to the next one.
37. How to Animate Your Designs in Canva: In this session, we are going
to learn how you can bring your designs to live by
animating your simple designs. So to create a design, Let's choose Create, and let's create a
YouTube thumbnail. Let's say. Now, let's see, I want this design, but I don't want this
one as a picture, but rather I want to animate
it to be used in my video. So what I'll do is I'll
click on Animate button. And there are some animations which will make this
thumbnail look like this. So there are a lot of
animations right here. It literally brings your
static images to life. So whatever you wanna do, You can try out different
templates here. And when you apply
a template, e.g. this one, just click on it
and it will be applied. And then you can
choose the duration of that total video to
whatever you like. And this is the final preview. Now this design has
some watermarks, so I need to remove
some parts of it. And now I can save that. But be careful if you want to
save it with the animation. This will be
downloaded as a video, not as a static image. So I'll click on Share
and click on Download. And it is recommended that you
download it in mp4 format. So perfect. This also has some
more premium content. So in fact, we have
already learned it, right? So let's go with our other
designs. Let's say this one. I've already created
some design which is a pop effect,
looks like this. And let's download this one. Because this doesn't have any pro or premium
version content. So it will be easy, lead downloaded,
click on Download. And it is suggested
in PDF because it has couple of other
designs as well. But I'll save it as MP4. Now, if you want to save only single design and you have created multiples in
a single project. Then just dropped down the selected pages and uncheck all pages and
select the current page. And done. And click on Download
and hit Save. You can change the
name and then click on Show in folder and play it. This video will look
something like this. Now it doesn't matter up
to which time period you extend the clip to 8 s or 10 s, then emission will start
and stop at the starting. And the remaining will just be this static image
showing in the video. So this is how you
can easily create your design in
animated video form and then use it in your video as a promo or as a intro screen. Now one more cool feature
about the animation is if, let's see, if I add a new page and I
insert a text in here. I'll go to text and
click on Add heading. Let's see. The next is
something like this. Now, after writing this, if I want to animate this text, I have some different
options here. Let's make it a little concise. Let's zoom it a little bit. Now if you want
to minimize this, all pages showing here, you can hide that PTs. And now let's go to animate. There are some basic
animations that we have seen so far in the
earlier example as well. But here we have a
special animation for the writing section as well. You can give it a
typewriter effect, a sin shift merge block. So these are all the options that are particularly related to the writing or any text that can be shown
with the animation style. So this looks very beautiful when you apply it
in your designs. And basically include
in your videos. You also have the option to
include more animations. E.g. hit forward slash here and write like fireworks animation. You have to write
animation with it. So we have different
animation right here. We can use any of that. So e.g. if I want
to use this one, it's going to look
something like this. And again, if you want
to add more elements like let's say Hearts animation, you can include that as well. And adjust it in anywhere you want
according to your design. So basically these are some
of the tools that make your design look more appealing. So these are some of
the tools that you can use to make your
design more appealing. Now, if you want to
play this together, it will look
something like this. E.g. if I want to play this, you can click on present
and standard present. Now. It will look
something like this. And then afterwards it
will show the other page. So you can definitely
take advantage of all of these tools in Canvas. Now one more cool feature that Canvas has just
recently included is on what timing Do you want
to animate your text? E.g. this, this text. If I click on the animation, it will ask you the option of, do you want to animate both
in the entry and exit, or you only want to animate it on the entry or
only on the exit. If I animate for both, it will look
something like this, showing the animation now. And then it will wipe
out after some seconds. So on board, it will look
something like this. On entry look like this. So it can better be noticed
if I include two texts. Now let's animate both. Now here if I select
the overall page, you can animate both
of these texts. So from here you get
many different options. You can animate it on
both the entry and exit. And you have the
option to do both. You can change the
speed of the animation. But this is a pro feature. The writing style you can change and then
some other effects. So these are some
small options that you need to practice on
this try by yourself and you will get to
know how it will affect the overall presentation
of your animation.
38. How to Organize your Elements Assets for Projects: In this video, we are
going to talk about the elements that
you need frequently. And you want to save it
as your favorites to save you time when creating
your next project. So what we can do is find
some of the elements here. We will go with not the animated ones,
but the fixed ones. E.g. this is the
image that I like. Let's remove this
option, e.g. a. Heart. So these are the
static images e.g. I. Like this one. So if you want to
add it as favorites, you can just click
on these three dots and you have the
star option here. So next time, whenever you are creating any of
your designs, e.g. this is my new template. I can easily use that
template which I have start, you just need to go to
more and click on folders. And here is starred option. And you will find
all the designs here, what you have saved. But let's see if I am using an element that is
animated, e.g. this one. If I want to add this, our favorites, I can click
on these three dots, but here I will not find the star option or
Martinus favorite options. What we can do in
this case is we can just collect some animated
images that we like. And then we can paste it all in a single project and define them with the
text if we like, e.g. this is subscribed fixed, so we have the star option. But if some of them
are animated, e.g. this one, we won't
be able to find this option to store it
or market as favorite. In that case, you
can just add it to your single project
and keep it here. You can add as many pages as you want because
it will save you a lot of time to
find the assets. So here you can easily create the collection of all the assets that you wanna use frequently
in all your designs. Take a day or two to
make that collection. And then e.g.
anytime you want to use this in your designs, it was untitled design. Let's name it. My assets for projects. So now if I want to use in, let's say this project
on the other tab, I can open and keep this
element's page open. And whatever I want to use
is just I can copy this here and I can paste
it right here. So this will save you
a lot of time to save all the frequently
used elements that you use frequently in nearly
all of your designs. So just spend some time and save your most frequently
used designs in a single page like this. And whenever you are
designing any post, you can just keep it
open on the separate tab and copy and paste it
to place it right here. So just copy and
paste like this. And you have all the
animated templates with you. Alright, this is the
little technique on how you can manage not only the favorites of the
static images and shapes, but all the animated
elements as well.
39. Working with Video Editor in Canva: Now let's learn how to
create video in Canva. So first of all, for the sample, you can click on videos
so that you can get to the interface where you
can create your own video. So from the main interface, I'll click on videos. And you can basically use any type of format that you
want to make your video on. If you want to make Facebook
video for promotion, you can use this or video
message or a YouTube video. So click on the relevant video. And the first one is for blacks. While click on this. It is off this size, 1920 by 1080 pixels. So let's create it. So in this interface, there is a little bit
change of what we are used to see in the
earlier formats. And that is, you cannot
scroll it page by page. Rather, it will show
you the timeline, which will show the time
defined for each slide. So as you add pages to it, it will define the specific time for it and you can reduce
or increase the time as you require for that particular video or for
that particular slideshow. Now by default, let's say if I want to change the
color of the first slide, Let's change the color and
let's put a heading as well. And let's put a heading, go to text and click on heading. Now, as this is the
static page, it will, It won't matter that
if the timing is off 5 s or more in this static page, this slide basically only
shows for 5 s like this. You can reduce the
timing if you want, like scrolling it down or you can edit it from here as well. The other thing
that you can do is you can add the actual
videos with it, like a stock videos. Let's see. So I'll go to the second slide. Okay, let's delete this page
and I'll insert a new page. And let's go to
the elements now. Let's move to the video section. I'll click on see all. And let's say I want this video. I'll just drag and drop here. And I'll adjust the corners
just to fit it on the screen. Like this. Now this video is off 10.4 s. So if you want to
reduce the time of it, you can reduce the time. If you want a specific
scene to be included in your overall video or in your presentation from the
specific stock footage, then what you can do is
you can apply the split. I'll right-click here and I'll
split the page from here. And let's say up
to here you want. So right-click and split again. And these timelines, then
you can delete that. Also if you want to, let's say, insert more images. You have the option. You can enter specific image in-between. You can enter it afterwards
on a second page. So if my cursor is right here, or you click on this add page, you can insert it here
like this, drag-and-drop. And similarly, if you
want to apply the cut or reduce the time of
that specific video, you can do so if you
want to cut it from the starting and you only
want to play the end, then this is how you will reduce the time from either this
corner or this corner. Now, if your video
has multiple frames, are multiple scenes
in it and you want to cut a specific point, then it's very difficult
if you are unable to see the exact timing
of it for this, canva is provided a feature to make it convenient for you. You will click on the Zoom page, and then the zoom function will increase the zoom the timeline so that you can identify that exact scene where you
want to apply the cut. Because if I zoom out, it's very difficult to
find a scene from here. If you are zoomed
out completely, It's very difficult to
identify the particular scene. So when you are
editing in a project, you need to zoom in to see the proper timeline so that you can identify
the eat seeds. And when you change it back
to Zoom to thumbnails, now the zoom function
function will be used to increase the size of the thumbnails that
you can see here. Let's see if you want
apply cut like here. I'll just select the point from the mouse cursor and then just right-click
and split page. And then let's see,
I deleted test. If you want to undo,
you can always use a Control Z or undue
from here on the top. Or if you want to
see that since back, you can increase the size of the timeline so that you
can see the entire clip. Now if you want to add
a title on the screen. But after some time on
this specific video, e.g. this video clip is off 13 s, and you want to display the
text after, let's say 6 s. So at this point you can see
the timeline right here. This is like 7 s something
are okay on this point. So let's see how we can do that. If we insert text like this, Let's see what it does. It will include the heading
from the starting point. We don't want that.
So what you can do is you can always apply the
split on this point. Now if you want to
see the exact area, you can use this
Zoom page option and then you can increase
the timeline so that you can identify the exact point where you want the
text to be displayed. E.g. like right here, I'll cut at 7 s. I'll
right-click and apply the split. And from here I can include
the heading on this page. And let's see if I make it
a little fancy like this. And let's see, I changed
the color and enter some effects like a
background or a shadow. Or if I want to
animate that as well, feed or something like this. And let's write here
beautiful countryside. So now it is going
to play like this. Let's play it from
the second slide. So this is how it will play the video and to play or stop, you can use it either
from here or you can use the space bar to
play or R2 pause. And from here you
can also define how you want the
slide to be changed. You can click on this plus sign between these two flights. And here is an option
of AT transition. You can change it to the
next slide like this, or you want to slide it here. The options you usually see on film aura or Final
Cut Pro as well. It's not obviously that much of advanced as the professional
video editor software, but for Canva, as in editing or a graphic designing tools that are only supposed to make
like posters or something. This video creation
interface is quite handy and useful and it's
also very easy to use. So let's say if I click
on dissolve from here, I can set the duration. It will either dissolves
quickly or you can increase the dimming
time from here. So let's say plate now it will
play something like this. And similarly, it's particularly useful where the
scenes are changing. E.g. here, you will notice a cut here from
the second slide. So you can smooth that
out like this one. I can smooth that out with
this transition effect. So I'll click on dissolve. Let's see. Now what
is the effect of it? So it looks a little bit
professional to add transitions to the scenes so that the gap between the scenes
should look smooth. Now, when your
scenes are finally, you can play it on the
full screen from here. This option, preview. Or you can use this. But this one is better to
show it on full screen. It looks something
like this and says, when ever you want to
exit from the scene, you can just press Escape and you will be back
on this interface. You can hit close or
otherwise escape again. And you are on your
main interface now. So this is how you can make
the video off your own. Obviously, this is not a
complete project. We will see. We are just learning the tools. We will cover the complete
projects in a separate area. But let's just say that if I want to use some
templates of it, you can use the
templates from here. If you go to the templates, you will see different
templates here. And there are many
templates that you can use. So let's say I want
to use this one. And if I apply to all six pages, it will ask you that, do you want to replace all pages with the template that
you were creating? I'll replace all the
pizzas in this case. This is a complete video that
you can edit on your own. So let's play this video. It might have some
audio as well. Some templates have the audio. So you can change the
color scheme as well, whatever you like, and then you can edit it according
to your requirements. So e.g. in this
case, here it is, it has inserted the video in this particular frame like this. So you can replace it
with your own videos. Otherwise, let's just
go to the video again. Let's use something
that has only pictures. Or let's say if you
want to greet someone, you can use this
applied to all pages. So this is how it will show. And you can delete any of that picture and you can
upload your own picture, Let's say like this. Similarly on the next slide, you can replace it
with the other image. Well, let's just use
the stock photos. Let's write happy
here, like this. Like this. So this is how you can easily
edit and make it your own. And if it'll play out
something like this. So it's pretty awesome. You can explore the
templates as well. And in many cases
you might, only, what you might only need is the right template
for you to edit. Or otherwise you can create
it from scratch if you want. And again, not just that, you can insert a photo in
that particular frame. You can use any
video if you want. So e.g. if I want
a video in here, I'll go to elements and
let's say of video. So this is my video. I'll replace it with this and it will play out
something like this. So pretty convenient rate. That is the speciality of Canva when you're
especially trying to make videos that you will find
thousands of it for free. Right now I'm using
educational version for it. And if you don't want them by pro account for
a costly price, what you can do is you want
to use all these templates. Now, most of these templates can only be found under
a pro version. And I'm using an
education region which is kind of pro version because you can use all the
templates are for free. And if you're using the
free account and you want to practice more or
use it professionally, you can always opt for
an educational account. So if you don't want to opt for pro account right
now, you'll see prices. It's the monthly $6.49, which is not much, and
yearly it's 54.99. Otherwise, what
you can do is you can offer educational account. Many people on Facebook
are providing the service. You can write Canva
premium account for sale and you will see multiple post. You will change it to post. From here. You will see it here, whichever offer you like, e.g. this one is a good offer. And you can find, you can get all of this
in a fraction of price. It sees a onetime payment, lifetime warranty, 71
million free photos. You will unlock all the
graphics, all the videos. And that is the, you will also get the
background remover, which is a wonderful tool. And you can find many different options that you only find in the
program counter. Premium account. You can watch set them. So they are charging
will lead to $203 for lifetime
onetime payment. So this is pretty nice. You can contact them, you can check out the
other offers as well. There are many of them. Only in $5 you can get
the lifetime access, so they're providing
the service. So anyways, the point I
was trying to make here is if you can't get access to the templates that
I showed you here, you can always upgrade
your version two pro or the educational that
is a premium version as well. So basically, this templates provide you a great
starting point. You can experiment with that. Just try to search for your particular requirement,
e.g. a. Birthday. And you can use any
of these templates. And this just play around
with that template. And let's say this is the party scene and you
want to insert your own. You can go to upload videos
that you want to upload. Or in this case, I'll just use the demonstration to show you as an example, e.g. this one is the video that you actually uploaded and
you want to use this one. So let's replace it with here and replace this one with this. Make sure the format is seem like it's more grid and
sport grit here as well. So don't use the
landscape videos so that it fits in properly. Like this. And this is our scene now. This is our customized fish. Now, you can play
it on full screen. It's really fun to play
with all these templates. You will be amazed by
how quickly you are able to produce a scene or
video for yourself. So this is how you
can easily edit your videos in Canva
using these tablets. It's fun to play,
it's very easy to customize and you can try
and play around with it.
40. Working With Audio in Video Editor Project: Now let's talk about how
you can add audio to your video project or any
static project like this. Now, like in the previous video, we have seen that this static project contains
an audio if you play it. So this is playing
the audio and how you will realize that it
is playing audio. If any of your video
project or this kind of static project has a
thin blue line here. This means that this project
contains the audio as well. If you want to see
that audio properly, just double-click
on this bar and you will be able to see this audio. So what you can do is you can move it around
anywhere you want. Now, if I zoom it out, if I zoom the slide
a little bit, zoom out so you can adjust the timing that
it will play first, let me expand it. Okay, right now it's
set to the maximum. So let's just delete some pages. And you can see that audio
will adjust automatically. And if I double-click now, this audio file is
off the lens that is more than this slide. You can adjust any part you want to play with
this slideshow. And then double-click to go
back to the previous scene. Now considering
that this video was taken from the middle
part of the audio. So you can fade it
in or fade it out. You will just select this
first and go to audio effects. Here we find this exact
options feeding at the start and fade
out at the end. So right now you can't
see anything here, but let me just zoom it so that we can clearly
see the indication of it. As you can see that this
line is going up and let me just increase
the time so that we can clearly see at the end, you can see that it is
going down like this. So this is to avoid the
abrupt ending at the end. So e.g. like this, if the song suddenly
stops at the full volume, that it won't look nice. So that's why we add fade to it. And we'll play out something
like this. That's perfect. Similarly, if I
remove this effect, Let's see the changes. What, how it affects
the ending feed. Let's change it to, sorry, just double-click here. Audio effects and
remove the feet. Now it will end
suddenly like this. Now, if you want to adjust the volume of it as
well, to select this. And you can adjust the volume from the top-right corner here. You can reduce the
volume so that it will play it on a
lighter volume. So this is how it will play. Now. Now, in this video
editor interface, you can also add
multiple tracks, e.g. if I go to the elements and I scroll down until I
find the audio section. There are a lot of audience that you can use in your project. So let's see this one. If I click here, you can see that
immediately it entered this new audio below the
current audio track. So let's see. So let's say
that if I decide to play it the first audio until this point and then it
should continue with this. We can easily do that. And afterwards you can move it upwards to play on
the same timeline. Bring it up. When you adjust
the length in proper, it will automatically merge
it in a single timeline. Now obviously if you have
multiple beats or you want to add your
voice with the music, you obviously need to tracks. And then you can, what you can do is you
can consecutively plea that to cracks on the
defined timeline. Let me just zoom it out. It's not the same length, but something like this. This is the music and this is, let's say your own
speech with it. You can add multiple tracks. Similarly, if I click on Third, it will insert the
third one as well. So these are all the
basics that you can use to customize your
project with audio in Canva. So that's it. Just
try it by yourself. Insert multiple cracks. And let's see what
you can compose.
41. Introduction to Presentation Modes: Now we will see how you can use the predefined templates off the presentations in Canva and use that to deliver
a presentation, let's say in your class
or in your company. So how you can switch
to the presenter view as you're used to
see in PowerPoint. So from the main interface, you can see this
presentation option. I'll click here. And you have different
formats to choose from. This is four by three, brainstorming presentation,
game presentation. You also have mobile
first presentation, which will be obviously
in portrait mode. So any talking presentation, if you want to record
yourself as well. There is an option in Canvas
that you can play and record for your
YouTube video or for any explanatory video that
let's say you want to upload it on YouTube or on
your personal website, or for communicating a message to your employees or students. So you can create that talking presentation and you can record yourself as well. Basically on any presentation, you can record yourself as well as you can play it
at the same time. Let's start off with
the presentation in 1920 by 1080 pixels. So I'll click on it. And when I click on it, I have different templates
that I can choose. Right now we already know all the tools how to
create the presentation. So let's just see how you can
use any presentation mode. E.g. this e.g. I'm a teacher and I1 explain the classroom rules so I can use this presentation. This has couple of slides, 1 of 13, 13 slides in total. Let's click on it and
apply all 13 pages. So what you can do
is when you are in here and you want to present
that in front of class. So you will connect
the projector and simply go to share
and use the present mode. As soon as you click
on the present mode, it will ask you the
type you want to play. The standard is advanced
at your own pace. That means similarly
like PowerPoint, it will be played in
full screen mode. And you can move
to the next slide or the previous slide
at your own pace. But obviously you have to manually change it
from the laptop. Autoplay means you can set the speed to play
for each slide. Presenter view that you can use your notes that your audience
won't be able to see, but you have some additional
notes what to speak about an upcoming
slides as well. That in future slides you
will be talking about. And presenting record
means you can present the whole presentation and
record yourself right now. And let's say if you want to
communicate all these rules, not physically, you can just
publish it on the website. So that will produce a video. So let's go with the standard
mode and click on present. Like I said, you can change
it at your own pace. And from the right arrow
or the left arrow key, the slides will change. So it depends on how
much time you will take on the particular slide and then you can move
to the next one. Whenever you want to
go to the main screen, I'll press Escape to go
back to the main screen. Now let's shift this
mode to the other mode, and that is autoplay. Autoplay. Got it. It said timing for each slide. Let's see. To check, I'll keep it 2 s. And let's say I want to apply
it to all the 13 pages. And let's see now, present in the autoplay mode. Present. Now you can see E slide
is changing within 2 s. So this is the option here. And let's go to the third
option that is Presenter View. Presenter View, like I said, it will assist you with
the particular nodes. You can keep your notes here. And for each slide,
this is page six. You'll want to talk about
this topic and these details. Or let's say you
want to talk about these three points on
five classroom rules. And similarly, you can
define nodes for each slide. Let me define for other as well. Okay, Now let's see. Now let's go back to
the present mode and the Presenter View
and click on present. Now the audience
window will be this, and my window will be this. So audience will see only the
full screen version of it. And I can see all the details like I can see and take
assistance from nodes. I can see what other slides are about so that I can
prepare in advance, especially if you have
a presentation in class or in a company. So it's better to use
this Presenter View. And like we have defined
some rules, e.g. here, I want to talk about
these three points here. So this is very helpful. You can easily do that here. And the plus point of using Canva for presentations
instead of our point is you will find some
amazing templates predefined here for
whatever topic you want. So it just takes a little bit of your content to be put in and you have a complete
professional presentations present here right away. So these are some of the
options we have talked about, the standard mode,
the presenter mode. And now in the next video, we are going to talk about how
you can add animations and record yourself so that you can create a video from that
presentation as well.
42. Presenter Mode Additional Features: Okay, one more thing
that I wanted to share about the presenter
view is once we go in the present mode and we
turn on the presenter view, this green is for
audience, right? And this screen is for you. So let me just open
it side-by-side. So we're going to learn about some more functions that
the Presenter View offers. These are some magic shortcuts. If you want to set the timer. Let's see if you have given
a task to your audience. Here's a timer that will
flash up for the audience. And it's a nice visualization
that you can use. You can set it manually as well. You can also use the
blur functions, e.g. there are some of the parts
that accidentally displays on the projector and
you don't want to display that personal information
or something like that. So you can use this
blur feature for that. And if you want to communicate, something like everyone
should be quiet. So you can use this. It will display it for the
presenters on the screen. You can use some funny options
as well, like bubbles. It will display these bubbles on the screen and some celebrations once you're complete
with your rendition, the drum roll, if
you want to really, anything special, the
curtain call, the mike drop. So these are kind of funny, but it is useful as you need it. And if you go in this options, it is hide magic
cursor at the first. As you can see that this is a little circle kind of
cursor that everyone can see. But if you want to hide
this magic cursor, you can hide it from here. You can hide the live edits. You can share the remote
control to some other person. You want to be the part
of your presentation. So these are some of the additional features that
might be useful for you. Now let's continue
to the next topic.
43. Using Present and Record Feature: Okay, now let's discuss about our last section and that is present and record in
the Presenter View. So from the Canvas
main interface, we have the choice to create either presentation or a video. So let's go and create
a presentation. I'll choose any
template for now. Apply all ten pages. And now if I want
to present that, I'll go to Share present. But this time we
have already learned about standard and auto-play
and presenter view. The final option is
present and record. So if we click on Next, it will go to the
recording studio. So let's click on it. And now it will ask you to allow your camera
allow your microphone. I'll just disable
the camera from here and let's test
the microphone wave. As you can see that
while I'm speaking, it is showing the VBS here. That means microphone
is perfectly working. If you want to change
that microphone to any other any other option, you can change that as well, but I'm using Samson Go Mic, so I'll prefer that
and start recording. You can record about
your presentation here. This is the recording
button showing here. And whenever you want to pause the recording or
end the recording, these options can be fine
on the top right corner. So as you move through
your assignment, you can explain
different parts of it. And after you are done, you can just end the recording. Save and exit. Now, the important thing
to note here is when I recorded all of this audio, it doesn't sync with the
presentation automatically. And that's a negative
point of Canva. If I go to the uploads
in the audio section, I have this audio here. You can just drag and drop to the presentation and it will add to your music
so you can record, as you can see that before
that we were in a video mode. So this audio effects or wave timeline
we're showing here. Now it's showing here. Let's see if it
changes the slides automatically in sync
the audio or not. Your presentation here, this is the recording button
showing here. And whenever you want to
pause the recording or ended, as you can see that it doesn't
sync the audio or change the slides on its own with
what we have recorded. So what we have to do is we have to adjust manually each section
to the particular slide. That's a little bit complicated, especially in the
presenter mode, where V even do not see the
option to split the audio. We only have the audio effects
to feed in or to fade out. And another option
that we have is only to increase or
decrease the volume. We cannot split it in slides as we used to do
in the video mode. So it's preferable that
if your presentation or video has audio that you
want to Record with it, It's most preferable to go to the Home tab and use
the video feature. You can create the same
presentation here as well. But the point here
is you will get a lot of flexibility in
terms of audio editor. If I go here, shear, go to present mode. And now if I use this
present and record next, go to the recording studio. No cameras setting is same. So start recording. In this recitation, we're
going to talk about our online learning and courses. So you can book a demo class and I'll
see you in the class. And then you can move
to the next slide and you can speak about that slide. And this is the third slide
and this is our topic. And I'll end screen. So as you can see that more or less all the options are same. But the difference is
when you save and exit, you will find a different
kind of editor here. By default. This one also doesn't support
and sync automatically, but you can drag and drop here. And it will add to the bottom the mean plus zero point off. Using the audio feature. Only in the video mode, is that you can split the clip. You can split the audio,
you can duplicate, and you can manually adjust the audio with what you are
presenting in the slide. So basically these options are not as convenient as you record on a professional video
recording software like Camtasia or film era. But you can get the basic
decent output if you work around a little bit
and you manually adjust the clips with the audio
that you're speaking. So it involves more editing, but you can get an output, it will show up
something like this. So in this presentation
we're going to talk about our online
learning and Gordon. And then obviously
you will change or split the particular
part of audio. And you will adjust that
according to the clip. Like this. If there is some gap, you can
also create some gap here. Like something like this. And other main reason
of using all this audio features with
the video mode is that in the presenter board, you cannot add
multiple audio tracks, which you can add easily in
this video project interface, you can add multiple tags
as I showed you before. So this is the main point
of the video tracks. So I preferred
that even if it is a presentation, but when ever, you need to record
a speech with it, I always prefer the video mode instead of the
presentation mode. So this is it, this
is how you can use the different forms of
presentation modes in Canva.
44. Presenting Synced Audio with Video or Presentation: In the last video, I said
that you cannot adjust the audio with that present
and record feature, but there is some
additional option that you can use. There. I'll take some
presentation, e.g. from the Home tab, I'll go to presentation
and let's see if I choose this presentation about
the class slavers apply to all ten pages. And let's see if I want
to record something like I'm presenting and recording according
to the slides. And the audio should
automatically adjust and it should be
produced in a video form. So we will use the record
and present feature. I'll go to share and
present and record. Go to the recording studio. Recording is working, and
I'll start recording. Here. I will talk about the
presentation a little bit. So this is the forget
elementary school class labels. I'm guiding you through the entire class labels
that you need to focus on. Hello and welcome to
my English class. I'll give you some introduction
to the English class. And we will see in the next area what
lessons we will cover. I'll go to. The lessons. Lessons to be covered
are something like this. There are some requirements for the class that you
need to consider. So these are the
requirements for the class and some more
requirements for the class. And the goal of this
class is as follows. So as you can see
that I am changing the slides and now I'm going
to talk about evaluation. And finally, thank
you for joining in. And this is the end of it. So as I record, it will be said, upload to your recording. And this is the link, basically that you can share on your browser or on
your website so that all the people or
your classmates can access it over the browser. So just copy that link, paste it on your Facebook page
or any social media page. And they all will be able
to see that recording. So this is particularly
useful for online classes like teachers
used to do in COVID. So this is pretty effective
and save and exit. Now, once I go to
present and record, this was the link that
I showed you earlier. So if you want to
see that recording, I'll just copy this. And let's see how it is
available for everyone to view. Here, I will mention
a little bit. So this is the forget
elementary school class labels. I'm guiding you through the entire class labels
that you need to focus on. Hello and welcome to
my English class. I'll give you some introduction
to the English class. And we will see
in the next area. So as you can see
that anyone with this link can easily
see that recording. Even if we try it in
a new private window. The person who doesn't
even have the sign-up for Canva can also
see that or not. Let's see. So you don't even
need to sign into Canva or have any Canva
account for that. You can share that publicly and every person with this link
can see this recording. So this is a pretty
handy tool I'll give. And I said earlier
that you won't be able to match the
audio with the video. But this is a feature
that you can use in here that is the link function. And also finally, if you want
to download this in MP4, you can download that and it will be downloaded
with the audio.
45. Creative Ideas for Canva: Let me show you some
examples on the creativity. We have learned all
the tools in Canvas. Now let's see some of the
examples how you can creatively apply each one of them
in different scenarios. E.g. let's see if I
choose a Facebook post. Now we have different
templates here. Now it totally depends
on you how you want to be more creative with
this post templates, e.g. if I choose any of
these templates, e.g. this one, which is
fresh from the fields. If you want to include
not just the picture but a video off the
fresh vegetables, then what you can do is
you can just delete that, go to the elements
and click on videos. And here you will find,
let's say vegetables. Vegetables. You can include any
video here as well. If you want to include that. It depends on your size, what you feel is a best-fit. But you can choose any of them. I prefer the portrait
in this type of format. So we have landscapes
and portraits as well. So let's see if I choose
landscape version. This is my landscape version. Now it will, it might
show like this as well. So it is your choice
whether you want to include it as a video
or a static picture. So you can see these
kinds of posts as well. See how cool it looks like this. And you can just
share it as a video, download it, and share on
your social media pages. Okay, let's try the same thing on some other horizontal post. I'll add a new page. Now how you can be more creative
with the simple option. Let me show you how e.g. if I'm creating something like desktop
wallpaper, Let's see. I actually want did a
horizontal kind of thing. Now, if I grab the same thing, I'll go to photos. And right here iPhone,
known as scroll down. Let's see, I want this image, but I want to remove
the background. So first of all, let's
remove the background. I'll go to Edit Image. And again, background remover. So let's reduce the size and position it
anywhere you want. Now, let's see if I
go to elements and I'll grab a simple grid. You can find it in
the grid section like this and drag it over here. Let's see if I
want to adjust it. Not on the background
but on the front. So let's spring forward. And let's adjust that
on the mobile screen so that it looks like it is
flashing on the mobile screen. Like this. Again, Let's go to our videos. I'll go in the video section. And right here, anything
like landscape. Now e.g. if I click on free, you can apply filters from here. E.g. I want to record a scene. I will take this photo as
it is this video here. And it just that sent backwards. And then backwards again, and then fit the same
video here as well. So now if I click on
share and present, it will look
something like this. So it looks like although
it's not adjusted property, you can use some different
mobile image for that, but it creates an
illusion of the scene that this person is on the
beach recording this scene. So that looks very, very cool. So you can experiment and be
creative with these ideas. Now, I've used a different
picture just to show you that how the perfect image would
fit in, in the scene. Because that hand and mobile
image was not proper. I prefer this kind of seen in this area where
the hand is holding the mobile and it's in the recorder mode so that the grid would perfectly fit in. And record can show you the
illusion of a recording of the scene so you can see
how cool that looks, right? So this is nothing but your
creative thinking on how you can use certain tools to
create different things.
46. Creating a Movie Poster: One way of getting
creative with the Canva, as well as creating
a bolster like this. As you notice that
this is a poster of, let's say, movie or a magazine. And it's a warrior
showing here on the mountain and with the scene in the
background, the birds. But all of these elements are separately added in the scene. The text, the character, the hill, and the photo. So how can we create such an image or a
poster from scratch? Let's see. I'll first go to main screen and
right poster here, it says movie poster. So create a blank movie poster. And it totally depends on your thinking how
you create that. But let me just show you some of the tools that you can
use for that. Now, e.g. if I want to create
the same scene, I'll choose a mountain
first or a hill. So let's go to the photos. And right here. So take any image you want
or you think is suitable, so that you can make them
Warriors stand on that hill. So to scroll down until you find irrelevant
image, e.g. this one. Now, let's fit all of this
to the complete area. Even make you can make it larger so that it
can fit your scene. Now, I don't want it
to be daytime scene. I wanted to be a
nighttime scene. So what I'll do is I'll
remove the background. I'll click on edit image
and remove the background. Now again, if you were using the educational version
or the pro version, you will be able
to use this tool. Now click Apply. For the nighttime. These mountains are
too bright, right? So what I'll do after
that is I'll go to Edit Image and use the
edges functions for it. I'll reduce the brightness. And you can increase
the contrast. And you can use the
saturation points as well to adjust it
to the nighttime. Let's say we're creating
an evening time rate. So this might work. Okay, let's test this.
So this is my mountain. I have adjusted the brightness
and contrast a little bit. You need to play around it. Now let's find a
perfect sunset image. I'll click on Sunset here
and click on photos. You can use any image that
you find suitable for the particular scene. Okay? I need to see this option
bring to forward or backward. But I need to detach image
from the background for this hill image so that both image on the pH
can adjust to the scene. So this is my poster. You can set it anywhere you want as you
see fit or the image. So this is kinda it. And now let's see. I want to bring it down. Let's see over here. And the other clip as well. Okay, So this is my image. Now, I want a warrior
to stand up right here. So I'll search for warrior and click on
photos to find one. I can use any warrior image you want from here. Let's see. Let's use the exact one
of which was this one. So let's remove the
background from here as well. I'll go to Edit
image and click on background remover.
Remove the background. Now, if you want to adjust it, you find it is not
suitable for the scene. You want to make it dark. I can go to adjust and increase or decrease the
brightness and the contrast. But it seems suitable to
use this one as it is. Just zoom it a little bit, see if it fits the fort. Or you can send it to back. Or you can bring
this mountain to the front so that you
don't see the feed. Select the mountain
and bring front. So this is how now it's
standing over the mountains. Looks like this.
So that's perfect. Now, I want to use
some birds as well. So let's write birds here. E.g. these ones. These ones are pretty
perfect. Or the scene. You can tilt it if
you want, like this. And if I want to
highlight this warrior, let's see in this onset. So how can I do that? I'll used something like Son. And in the graphics that
find it what is suitable. So this is my image, but I'll adjust that
in a particular way. I'll adjust that over
here on the warrior, but I'll use it as
a highlighter tool. What I'll do is I'll increase, reduce the transparency first. And then I'll go to Edit image. It just click on blur,
increase the blur. And basically what I'll do
is I'll bring it forward. Bring the warrior forward. And let's select this. And to backward like this. Okay, now move the mountain up. So it looks something
like this. Pretty nice. If you want to blend it more, you can reduce the
transparency even more. So now, if I want to add a text, I'll add a heading like this. And write the Valadier and adjusted on the
frame like this. And I'll bring it downward. Now I want this text to
go through this person. Let's write the warrior only
in the warm water only. So let's do like this. I want this eye to go
through this image. Let's make sure that
you've selected the image. There are multiple
delimiters involved. Now, that's why you're unable to select that particular
image sent to backwards. So it's showing
like this perfect. And then you can move
your mountain up. So this is the complete took, this is how you can make
your own booster in Canva. This is just one
example of how you can get creative with all the tools that we have learned so far. The point of showing you all this poster is,
as you can see, that we have included each scene separately to create a
complete booster from scratch. So this is how you can use
this inspiration and use it all in your creativity for
your particular scenario. Just practice it by yourself. I recommend you to come up
with your own idea or even reproduce this idea
so that you can grasp what I have
explained in this video. And then we will move
to the next one.
47. Being Creative with thinking Beyond: Now in this lesson
we're going to learn the more creative ways
outside the Canva or through the help of other third-party apps to achieve the same result
that can hurt us. E.g. in this video, we have created something, but we used a technique for it. We have inserted
different alphabet separately and then
fit the video through that so that it looks like it is playing within
this text, right? So we can achieve
the same result by using the help of some
external third-party apps. Maybe the time
you're spending on achieving the same result with Canva is not just worth it. So in that case is, you might think out of the box, think creatively, and
you might come up with some other
solution as well, e.g. let's see a same idea. I'll add a new page and
click on Blank background. Let's see if I write here. Get creative. And just make a copy of it. Great, creative. And I write here colors. I'll make it bold and
little white like this. Okay? Now, if you see the number of
letters involved in colors, text, and you want to
play a video through it. It might take a lot
of time for you to achieve the
result with Canva. So what you can do is you
can be a little creative. I'll click on Add bit, and I'll take the help
of a third party app. So I'll just move the
colors here and just shared and download
that as a PNG file. So let's download this and
I'll save that in downloads. So what you can use is I'll
go to Google and write online Pin Jie tools here. And this is a simple
website online PNG tools. I'll make a PNG transparent. Use this tool. And let's import a file, which I have right
here. In the downloads. It was downloaded as a zip file. Okay, we need to extract
this first because it downloaded all the images here. I didn't select the
option of single one. So now let's choose our image. And this one is our
image that is colors. Now what I want to
make transparent is not the white but black. So let's write black here and fill shoe
transparent image like this. Percentage. You can try different percentages to
achieve a smooth result. One example, let me just
write here 1010 per cent. But in this case,
I can push it to 90% because I totally want to get rid of
the black color here. And now let's save this
file as and download. And click on Download here. Since it is a free plan, it will have some wait time. So that's okay. Now, instead of this one, I'll use now a different one. I'll go to upload and click on this image and I'll upload that. The transparent image. If we move it here, you cannot really see anything. But if we change the
background to black, you will see, okay, this is showing the image. So what I wanna do
now is I'll go to, let's see videos, or
let's see elements. I'll go to elements
and right colors here. And I'll search or relevant
video like e.g. this one. And I'll move it
in the background. The sort of free size it. I'll actually detach
the video from the background and set it
in the exact proportion. Weird. I can see it in colors. Now I'll right-click
and send backwards. Now you will know what I
was trying to make here. If I zoom it here. Now let's play it. Now you can see how the
colors are playing within the transparent letters. So the similar thing can be
achieved by being creative. Similarly, let's change and try something more colorful so that you can see the actual
effect of it. E.g. this one. I'll zoom it out. Just a video. And then you can
send it to backward. Now it will show
something like this. So this is how you can
be creative and achieve the same results by trying out the different tools
outside the Canva. So it's just about how you think and how you can plan
your work efficiently. So try it by yourself
and be more creative. Apply some other ideas. And I'll see you
in the next video.
48. Creating Popout Frame Effect: One more creative idea while
using Canva is you can create a pop-out photo frame
like this from scratch. It's very easy to build. So let's see how we can do that. You can choose any shape for it. I have chosen, I'm already
in Instagram post format, so I'll add a page. Let's learn it from the scratch. It really just involves your ideas on how you
can build such thing. So I'll go to elements and
write like fashion here, and go to photos. Let's choose this one.
I'll choose this one. And first of all, what
I need to do is I need to get rid off
this background here. So select this. I'll use the background
removal tool. So until now you might have
realized that this tool, background removal tool
can do wonders and really help you to create your
design very easily. So we're done. You can adjust sites. Now. Let's go to the color. It will automatically pick up the photo colors so you can use any of those colors
here in the background. E.g. this one. Now, I need to create a
pop-out effect like this. So what I'll do now is
I'll insert some shapes. These are men will chips. So from the elements,
I'll select rectangle. And it's shaped like this. And place it on your photo. Something like this. And create a copy,
alternate, whole, alternate, and select from the mouse
and move it towards right. So it will create a copy
of something like this. Then again, create a
copy and you can move it towards like this. I can now move it a little down. And similarly, I'll create a
copy here and they sit here. This is kind of photo frame, but it is not
popping out, right? So to pop out, I'll just select these
shapes from the corners. I'll choose shift
to hold each shape. And from these three dots, I'll go to position and
send it to backwards. So now you can see
that it creates an awesome illusion of
photo popping out from the frame you can do and
other creative idea and that is the photo background
will be seen, but still it looks like
it is pumping out. How can you do that?
It's very easy. It's same technique,
but we have used here to create the video
running through the text. So I'll insert one
more photo and adjust that in the frame
and match the sites, such as double-click and
try to match the sites. Try to match the corners, and then send it to backwards. And just reduce the frame size. It's not matching exactly. So just double-click
and send this one back. You need to make
little adjustments. Okay, so first of
all, it's just this. Now let's try to match. Now it looks like
it's matching rate. You can check the corners. For equity. No, it's
not matching exactly. Now it's matching. So that's perfect. Now what we will do is, we will do is just reduce the
frame size and send it to back and forth that
pop-out effect. Let's just bring the frame down. It's much easier to do. Okay, now, what I'll do is I'll send this shapes to Backward, Send to Back and adjust the frame size. Something like this. Now you can see
that although it's using the original background, we have create an illusion using two photos that Still it
pops out from the photo. So as you can see that we have created an illusion
using two photos, one without the background
and one with the background. And we have matched
the exact size and then try to adjust
that within the frame. And then finally, we have sent these shapes off the
frame backwards. And now we have a perfect image, which looks like that, which creates an awesome effect of a popping out
photo from the frame. So really this is how you
can do multiple things. If you focus on what
I've just showed you, you will notice that there
is nothing new that I have used here as a tool. This is only the
ideas that created a completely different thing using the existing
knowledge that we have. So this is how you
can practically implement in
different scenarios. Take some inspirations,
take some designs, Google it, and try to
create it by yourself. So this is how you will
learn more and more. This is just an example of how you can be
creative with Canva.
49. Congratulations: That brings us to the
end of the course. I hope you guys
really enjoyed it. Thank you so much
for being here. Hope you have a real
sense of achievement. And if I can give back to you some support or by answering any questions
you might have. Please don't hesitate
to let me know. Thank you again and I'll
see you in my next class.
