1. Course Intro: Hi, I'm generals on a Run, a creative studio based on the Midwest that focuses on graphic design, surface pattern design and illustration. I have a background working in the fashion industry and teaching in higher education. I specialize in creating surface powder designs and other illustrated digital media for the fashion product and stationery industries. You may know me from our previous classes here on skill share, which have focused on trend forecasting, digital and surface pattern sign. Aside from my work in the fashion and graphic design industries, I really enjoy planning, as you saw in my how to build a Digital planner course. Some of my top selling products are my digital planners and sticker sets on my Etsy shop. Creating digital stickers is not nearly as hard it do You think I wanted to share some tips , my knowledge and help you build a digital sticker set that you can customize to your needs . The's sticker sets give digital planning a bit of creativity in a nod to the real thing. Finally, digital stickers are a bit more equal friendly than your traditional paper planners, as you can reuse them over and over and over again.
2. What You Will Learn: don't. So in this class you will learn how to create a digital sticker set. An affinity designer. I really enjoy using affinity designer for creating digital stickers because it allows you toe simply and quickly create precise shapes. Align and space items easily adv actor effects to the shapes and export your images as slices to PNG files without a background. This basically allows you to prepare them for your digital note, taking APS and apply them to pages without that white background. This course is a fantastic class to get comfortable using affinity designer, so we're going to go through the basic process of creating in the program, and essentially you get a tangible product that you can use after you're done with the class. We will start with the basics of understanding the tool bars and the functions in affinity , designer and the workspace. Overall. Then we'll start to build out your digital sticker set. You will learn how to design a set of functional stickers, and you will learn about the different types of stickers for planning will also go over how to set up your file and prep your art boards. You will learn how to take your stickers from affinity designer and placed them into your note taking app. Whether it be something like good notes or note ability, you will get an understanding of the layers function in the program. We will also go over how to use the shape tools, the line tool and how to use the move in a line functions. You will get a better understanding of the layer effects tools and how to add things like drop shadows to make things feel a little bit more three D and realistic. We will go over how to load your digital stickers into good notes and some really simple tasks in the good notes interfaces. That's what I use. But there are other APS you can use, like note ability. We'll learn how to place and how to resize your stickers and good notes. Ah, and how to basically just navigate the system. Overall, you can use the stickers you create in this class to offer as a free download. If you're trying to build an email list, you can sell them on your Web site or a site like that. See your creative market or you could just use them for yourself. To make things easier, I will be including the class project affinity designer template that you can edit and play around with. I'm just so that you get used to things before we jump into the lessons. I'm also going to include a file with all of the stickers that would create in this class for personal use, optimized for good notes and in a ZIP file as a PNG. Tools You Will Need: all you need to take this class is your iPad, the good notes, app or any other note taking app and, of course, your laptop or computer with affinity designer already installed on it. If you're into physical planning and you want the real thing, stay tuned for my next sculpture class launching in March, where I will be taking you through the process of cutting your own sticker layouts with a cricket designing them, just like we do here in, um, affinity designer but then actually exporting them and printing them out so that you get a physical, tangible product at the end.
4. Project Overview: for your class project, you will be creating a two page stickers up. We will be creating functional planner stickers so that they're easy to use will be using the shape makers to just kind of create these items that are great for to do lists, tracking habits and then at just adding notes, your planners In general. Your final project will include creating your two page digital thicker set, exporting them into a PNG file set and then optimizing them and adding them to your sticker book template in good notes. So this class is geared towards beginners. You don't need any prior experience using the affinity designer software, as I will be going over the basics to help you get comfortable using the software. Some very basic technical abilities will be needed, as I will be showing you step by step, how to use your good notes, app and how to use the program on a computer. I hope you enjoy this course. 5. Types of Digital Stickers: So before we get started and actually working in affinity. Designer I wanted to go over different types of stickers that you continuously make for digital planners or your traditional planners. So usually with planner stickers, you couldn't either go the digital versus the physical route. Digital stickers are basically PNG's, without a background that could be used in note taking APS like good notes or note ability . And you can even use them in any type of layout or spread that you're working with in a program like affinity designer or photo shop or illustrator just because it's a PNG file without a background. Now, you could also use physical stickers, which are basically either kiss cut, where you can peel them away from a backing or their diet cut so the sticker is cut into the shape, and these can be used in more traditional planning. You can use them and scrapbooking. They're just physical items, whereas digital stickers are just digital versions of the same type of thing. Personally, I create both from my Etsy shop, but for this class in particular, we're going to be focusing on digital stickers that you can use in a good notes, app or an apt, like note ability. So, as I mentioned, we're going to be focusing on digital stickers. But even within the digital sticker space there still, I'd say two different types of stickers that you're likely going to be working within these actually kind of roll over into the physical spaces Well, so typically with these kinds of stickers for planners or bullet journaling in the such, you are likely dealing with functional stickers versus creative stickers. So when we're looking at functional stickers, we're looking at no frills, straightforward kind of stickers. They're meant to keep track of dates, keep track of events, basically helped organize your life. They tend to have a lack of decor there, very much efficient and minimal. But they can be colorful and things like that. But the focus of these air really just to help with the functional elements of planning the organization part. Then you have the creative stickers. Thes are a little bit more visually pleasing. They're meant to track and celebrate memorable moments. They help with organization, but the idea is that you're organizing with aesthetics. They could be meditative. They can be more time consuming because when you're using that creative side of the brain when you're working in the plant world, you can take more time to create, to draw, to doodle, to use the stickers to create these creative spreads. Um, and they also have kind of like a scrapbooking flare. So when you look at my digital versus my phone or my creative stickers versus my functional stickers, you'll see functional stickers are very much focused on things like to do lists. Notes, Um, top, you know three things to do calls to make. But I like to add in a bit of flares well with color and different types of quotes and things that we can use, like flags and banners to kind of highlight key important areas. Now, when we're looking at my creative stickers, this is where my illustrative background comes into play. Most of the time, may my creative stickers are illustrated style stickers. I'll have lettering sometimes. Mostly, it's drawings and doodles, um, or different types of creative ideas that work within a theme that I'm looking at. So in my case, with the example that we're looking at here on the screen, I'm looking at my what mom's run on stickers set so kind of highlighting, you know, humorous things that kind of keep Mom's going. And in this case, things like coffee or messy buns. Take out the idea that one doughnut didn't hurt anybody. So stuff like that just I like to come up with a theme, and then I draw around that theme. So that's what you'll see typically, where you're looking at creative vs Functional Stickers. I like to use both kinds of my planner, Aziz. Well, as in my physical planner, too. So these air just fun options to keep in mind when you are working in digital planning.
6. The Basics of Affinity Designer : Now, before we get into the designing part of this whole process, I want to give you an overview of basically the affinity designer interface. So you're going a launch affinity designer, and then you'll get this blank pop up with the affinity designer workspace in your upper area. On the left hand side, you'll see your top menu bar. Um, if you click on file, you'll have different options. The main ones that you're likely going to be using our new and open recent as well as close . So newest create a new file open recent. It's open a file that you've been working on. Clothes is basically just to close the file that you're working on. And, of course, there's also save and save as as you're working on your project throughout, I suggest you save continuously. Do file, save as and save it to a space on your dust. Half that's easy to access. Um, next to file is the edit area. This is where you can cut and copy and paste. You could also paste inside of shapes as well. Text. This is the area where you'll find your character and typography and paragraph editing tools you can change the size of your characters. You can change the spacing, the baseline, your alignment, your paragraph letting, um, and it also allow you to show your character and typography elements in your right hand toolbar that allows you to quickly access these different functions. Layer is just exactly what you would think. It is very similar to other programs. Basically, you're going to be working in layers when we're creating these digital stickers. Um, and just like when you think of the idea of layers that think of a seven layer cake, basically you have one layer on top of another on top of another. But what's nice is even when you place one layer on top of another, you complain with things like opacity and transparency so that you can kind of blood layers and help players kind of show through. Or, if you want to just keep it 100% opaque. Keep in mind that whatever you put on top of something else is likely to cover it. You could also work with the arrangement. We have the alignment tools that we will be working with. This is just a quick shortcut that allows you to align different shapes and elements to different size, whether it's the left, the right or the center. And this is also another area that you'll be working in. Transform. Transform, allows you to resize, flip and rotate your, um, you're shapes that you're working with now, going from our top toolbar. I want toe head on over to our left hand toolbar. Before we do this, I want to set up a new file. So to do this room hit file and then create, then select new. And then we are just going to be working and in 8.5 by 11 workspace just for the ease of use. And just so that you know what you're going to be, you know, printing out the size that will be with your traditional printer paper. We do want to make sure that we have is underneath color. Um, you'll want to select RGB 32 because of the fact that we are working with a Web based item . We're going to be loading this in a digital app, and underneath that you'll see it says transparent background. We want to make sure that is checked so that we have a transparent background so that when we're exporting our PNG files, we aren't going to run into the issue of having a white background on. We just want these stickers basically toe look and feel like the real thing. So having a transparent background allows us to do that to make sure that struck Mark keep your DP I at 300 for now, just so that we have a high quality file. Depending on the needs of your APS and whatnot, you may want to run it down to 1 50 dp i or 1 92 dp I It just depends on the needs. And you know how big you want your files to be. For now, just that we have a nice high resolution files created up 300 and then hit, okay, and then you're going to see this pop up. Basically, it's your art board. You can create multiple art boards, and those basically are like multiple layers as well. We're going to be working with to our boards. But before we do that, I just want to get you used to the different tools in our tool. Barb. So in her left hand side. You'll see all of these different options. You'll see a black arrow tool, which is basically your direct selection tools you'll see underneath that the art board tool. If you click on that, you'll see a little pop up in the upper left hand corner that says Art board. So once you select the art board tool, you can click on that little button in the upper toolbar right underneath your options. That says, Insert art Board, and it will create an art board exactly in the same size and the same shape as what you see in your original our port with Underneath that is that little white arrow. This is your no tool. It allows you to adjust the nodes in the shapes that you're creating with your outlines, specifically using things like the pen tool. The next tool that will be also likely to work with today is the pen tool, and then we're going to skip a few these because we won't be touching on them very much. But, um, the next when I want to look at is the place image tool, so if you click on it, it will pop up, Ah, file option pop up window so that you can go find an item or an image, and then you can place it into you are workspace so you'll find your picture will hit open and then you'll get this little drop down arrow. Click inside of your art board, and then you'll be able to place your image. You can resize it by dragging in the corners and holding the shift button or your command button, and then you can move it around to delete it. All you have to do is use your black arrows, will click on it and then hit the delete button on your keyboard. The next area that I want us to be looking at and these will be. The areas that were working with the most in terms of the tools is the area on your toolbar with the shape so you're square shape your circle, um, the rounded rectangle tool and your polygon tools. These tools are the ones that will be using the most actually create our sticker elements. So if you click on the square tool, you will be allowed to create a square shape. You'll get these this little cross hair Onda. Also, you'll notice in the upper toolbar you'll see something that says Phil and stroke. So basically, this is what is. You know, this is where you can change color. This is where you can add a stroke to your element. So what we'll do is click on the Phil on. Then you can use the RGB sliders. Or you could actually scroll down two different types of sliders or using, like a color wheel, um, to adjust and added the colors I like using, um, the slider sketches just easier to view. And, um, see what the colors look like for me. Um, so I'm going to adjust it great, like this pink color on, then take out of it and then go on to your art board, take your little crosshairs, click on your work area and then drag, and then you'll be able to create a square. You'll be able to create rectangles any size that you want. If you hold shift, it'll allow you to create perfect shape. So in this case, a perfect square with equal sides. You also noticed this one does not have a stroke, but if you wanted to add a show. You can just click back on it, goto your area where it's a stroke. You can select a different color. I'm just going to keep it black so you can see and then right next that you'll see like a line with a dash route that says none. That just means that there's no stroke, but if you click on it, it will give you your stroke options. So in this case, I am going to create just a plain straight line stroke. If you look next to it. Ah, the different styles. You'll see that there is like a dash stroke. You couldn't change the stroke based on texture lines. For this case, I'm just gonna do a south line, and then you can adjust your with. This is basically how big or how small you want your stroke. I'm just going to do it a 2.5 so that it's easier to see. You could also change the different cap styles and align sells. I'm just going to keep them as they are on. Then I'm gonna click out of it so you can see what the shape looks like with a stroke. You can do the same thing with your circle options. All you have to do is click on the circles shaped tool on. Then you can drag out your shape. And remember, if you hold it shift, you can create a perfect circle every time on, and then you can change the color. You can remove the show and at a stroke. If you click out of the on the dash line style in your stroke, you'll see AH dash line created. You can change your dash, um, layouts. By adding different types of caps. You can change the meter of it on. And then if you go down to dash, I like to change mine from 11212 one to just to give me a nice, um, evenly spaced stroke that looks clean and looks even I'm on. When you're done, you hit. Enter and then you can click out of it and you'll see the dashed line. You can group elements. You can layer them on top of each other and will be going over that shortly. But I just want to go through the different shape options underneath that is your rounded rectangle shape as well. This basically gives you around a rectangle Instead of having sharp edges, it gives you rounded edges. I'm gonna remove the dash line from this one, and I'm going to show you how you can adjust the corners off your rounded edges. Well, so when you're in, when you're clicked on your rounded rectangle shape, if you look in your upper toolbar, you'll see, uh, area that says corner on then of percentage next to it so you can change the type of corner if you want it to, you can change it from rounded Teoh two straight two concave to a cut out, and I'm gonna go back up to rounded. And then you can change the percentage of how rounded your corners actually are. So currently there are 25%. If you go and drag it up, it's gonna basically create uneven, more round shape. If you drag it down, it's gonna help. Kind of like make those a rounded corners a little bit smaller, so I'm gonna bring it down to 7%. And basically, that's how you're adjusting, editing and creating your rounded rectangles. No, underneath that, you'll have your polygon tool if you click on it and actually hold get a pop up that shows you all the different shapes that you can create with the specific toy like this a lot. It makes things really easy. Eso, for example, I can create, like half circle dosing the segment tool. I can make different types of polygon shapes without having to use the pen tool, which could be a little bit more complicated. I can create perfect stars using the star tool, arrows, hearts, tears and different call out buttons as well. So this is a great option for creating shapes without having Teoh struggle too much with the pencil. So if you click on segment tool, you can create 1/2 circle. I'm at first. It's gonna look a little wonky once you create it. What you'll notice is within the shape, you'll see these two red dots. If you click on the bottom rung dot and you drag up, it will actually allow you to adjust the size of your segment. So if you want a full half circle, just drag that up to the center on. Then it'll create that full half circle for you. Um, you can do different shapes so in this case like a heart. If you hold shift, it'll give you a perfect heart shape, or you can create the you know, the shape of it that you like. You can also edit and revise how deep down the curvature goes using that red dot um on. Then let's see one more shape. We can create something like a cloud as well. And again, you can adjust how the curves work in the file. You can make it more curve last curve just by dragging in those point elements underneath. That is the type tool. If you click on the T frame text tool, this will allow you to create a frame of taxed. Um, you're dragging your click and drag it out into your art board. You'll get your text option. And then if you go into the upper toolbar, you'll be able to select a different Fucked you'll see. It will say Ariel right underneath where, um, the little affinity designer icon is you'll see your font selections. I have a lot of funds already pre installed on my computer. You may not have this money. A great resource is different dot com. I've included that in the resource is guide for this class. So we're just gonna pick a font and then I'm going to change the size of it so you can change some funds will only give you a regular. You may be able to use bold italic depends on the font and the package that you purchased family that you have in this case, it just gives me a regular style. But I can increase or decrease the actual size of the fund. So in this case, because it's kind of ah, curly, cursive looking fun, I'm gonna increase it to a really large number so that it's easy to see. And then we can start typing so you can choose your black arrow tool and move your text around. You can change, um, the alignment of your Texas Well, so in this case, I currently have it left a line. If you click center align, it'll line it down the center. If you select right, aligned it online it to the right, you can also select justified. I don't always like this option just because it kind of gives you funky spaces in between your tax. So I suggest always either keeping it left a line or right aligned it, depending on your layout style and keeping it just centered, so you don't have to have any issues with, like the fonts or with the tax spacing. If you find the spacing of your taxes, a little off you can go into your character functions over on your right handlebar. And once we go through this, someone actually go over this right hand area. But you'll go into character, and you can adjust and change and transform your positioning. You can adjust the baseline of your text. You can adjust the ah, the spacing between your letter so your current ing and you're letting and things like that we're going to adjust our letting just the bit just so that that bottom line goes up a little bit closer to that type to that top line. So it is the fourth function down. It'll say, letting override can use the up and down arrows, and we're gonna want to basically decrease, so that's basically decreasing the amount of space between the lines of text and basically don't just kind of bump off that line, so it kind of fills the space a little bit better now that we're in this right hand side. I want to go over the key things that you'll see over here, your color swatches air going to be the main things. You'll be working with the character as well as your layers and your layers of facts. So if we go up to our color, you'll be able to adjust and edit the color of whatever item you're working with. So in this case, I'm on the text still. So if I change the color and the color wheel, it will change the color of my text. So if I change, the color in the color really will change the color of my text. Even also select swatches. I like this safe swatches. If I'm working in a specific color palette and I want to make sure I can access that color , basically, whatever color I select, go into my swatches. I'll add the color to my swatch list by adding this like by clicking on that little area that has like the plus side and three squares. Click, add, and it'll add it to my swatches. You can also change the type of colors that you're working with. I have Pantone installed on my computer, so it gives me options to use my Pantone colors. But then you could just use different colors of gray's ingredients. Now, if we go down into the character section, you'll be able to change the type of font that you're using. You'll also be able to change the size of your fat. And then again, if you want it to be bold versus regular versus like Talic, you can change that. Here is well, like I said, with this fight in particular, we only have a regular option. You could also change the decoration type, so if you want your font to be underlined, they wanted to have a strike through the ass. With the strike. The U with a line under allows you underlying it, and then just you have your regular option as well. You can also add it and adjust your leading and your current ing, as we did earlier, using these functions down here. So your first function is your current ing, So basically it's the space between your letters. Um, try not to change your tracking and your baseline too much. You could play around with them just to see what they do. You look at your tracking. It basically stretches out your text. If you look at your baseline, basically just changes. Um, the placement of the text relative to what The baseline is on a page. So if you think about a paper with lines on it, you think about where the placement of that taxes on those lines. So if you increase the baseline to go up higher, it'll bump it up. If you decrease, it will bump it down. Then you're letting option basically get allows you toe work with and change the space between lines of tax in your option. So that's like the main functions that will be looking at here. You can also look at your navigator. You can transform. So if you want toe resize something typically like using the arrow option, you click on your item on. Then you re size by holding shift so that it stays in proportion and dragging out your corners. But you can also resize under the transform. Um, option is well here. And then the last thing I want to look out over here is our show. We mentioned stroke earlier. But you can also access strokes over here in the right hand side, a gang you're with changes how thick your stroke is. Um, you can have the option to have just a plain a stroke. You could have a dash stroke, and then you could also use the painterly brush options as well. Those are the main functions will be working with Ah, and now let's get into actually designing our stickers and working with each of these tools in affinity designer.
7. Designing Digital Stickers - Part 1: So once you have set up your file, you have both of your art board set up. I am going to bring up, um, a copy of the full page stickers that that we're going to be working on. I just want something to reference. This is from my what Mom's run on sticker pack. So we're just gonna be referencing it. We might be modifying it a bit as well, but for the most part, it will look pretty much very similar to what you're gonna be seeing on the screen. So, as I mentioned earlier, we're going to be using the shape tools a lot, along with the text tool and the line segment tool to create. These stickers were going to be creating the banner shape first with the rectangle shape maker Tool. And then we're going to be revising the nodes within it to kind of create that cut out effect on the sides. Ah, then we'll need to right click it and so lacked convert to curves that will need to go the left hand toolbar and school down to our no, to it's that white arrow. And then we're gonna add a note to the middle, and then we'll be able to adjust them and pull them in. Once we've done that, we can then change the fill color from white by going up to our fill option, clicking on the square and changing the color there. Or we could go to the right hand side and click on our swatches. Once we've done that, we're going to copy it or you can right click copy on, then right click paste. And then I'm gonna copy both of these and then paste them and drag them over and then just resize them by pulling in my edges so that it's a smaller version of this. Now we're gonna add in tax by clicking out our text tool have been read a click and drag. Make sure it's wide enough that we can fit everything in there. And then we're gonna change our font to delicious. I've included this in the class on Resource is, but you can use whatever fun you want, and I'm gonna use bold italic and we're gonna type in the text that were planning on using . You don't have to use the same wording that I'm using to type in whatever you'd like, we're gonna resize it so that it fills the space nicely. So you re size it up to about 20 and then I am going to change the text to, say, Find the joy in the moment and again just copy and pasting so they don't have to recreate the wheel. Essentially, when I'm pulling in, my text boxes could just copy and paste it in, and then I'm gonna do the same for the right side. I'm going to copy in pace and then dragged over holding shift so it keeps everything in line, and then I'm just going to change the tech to the text to say weekend vibes. And I'm also gonna just the colors as well for this, just so that it's ah, little different in terms of options for when you're creating, you know, color coordinated spreads and layouts. So I'm going to change this to a darker pink. Now we're going to be creating the bunting to create the bunting. We're going to use the segment tool, and then you're going to create 1/2 circle in your art board. Adjust this circle by selecting the little red nah, jewels and you pull it up to create an actual half circle, and then you're gonna want toe move in the edges so that you're kind of creating a smaller version of this and then you're going to use the rotate segment, which is that white little circle icon. And then you're gonna hold shift and you're going to take your mouse or your cursor and rotated around and you're gonna turn it, So that's kind of like an upside down U. Once we've done that, we can begin to copy and paste this so we'll just copy and then paste the 1st 1 And then we're gonna hold, shift and use our clicker to drag it out to the right and you're gonna use those red lines is kind of like guides. I'm gonna keep copying and pasting. I'm gonna select multiples at a time. And once I've created for him in a group home all together, I'm gonna copy that and then I'm gonna paste it once more and then there, drag that over and then I'm gonna select all of them bright click, and I'm gonna group them all together. So, like move them all is one. Once I'm done with this. I'm gonna create a line segment. So I'm gonna go to the pen tool, and I'm going to change it from Phil to a stroke color that it's similar to the pink that is on that hunting. So I'm just gonna go to my swatches, make sure the line stroke is selected and fill it with that same color. I'm gonna increase my with two about 20.9, and then I'm gonna click on one end, hold shift. So I get a straight line and click on the other. And if I find this a little too small, I just might increase it a bit. So I think I like about 1.5, and then I'm gonna select both of these items, right? Click and group them all together. And that's basically how we create the bunting. So I feel like this is a little bit too big, so I'm just gonna hold shift so I can keep everything in proportion, and I'm gonna pull in my edges, and I'm going to resize it. And then I'm going to copy it and paste it three more times, and then I'm just gonna adjust the color as we go. So once I've copied in peace that everything. I'm gonna go in and adjust the colors by selecting the group on, then changing the colors in the swatches area. If you find that you're having trouble getting the color to fill, you just may need Ah, select each segment individually is you can go into your group by releasing the group in your layer section and selecting each of your pieces together on, then changing the color in your swatches menu. And then what I would suggest now is to save as um, and make sure you save a copy to whatever folder you're working with, just a that you have a version that you are working in. Um, and it's always a good practice to continuously save your work as you're going through a project so that you don't encounter any potential issues or loss of data. Now that we've created the bunting, we're gonna create this, get it done stickers. So to do this, we're going to select a rounded rectangle shape tool, and then we're going to create a rounded rectangle that is about the equivalent of the shape that we have here. So we also want to make sure we adjust our corner edges, so we're gonna pull it down to about 21% and now we'll go in and change the color in our swatches ville, and then we're gonna select the pen tool, and we're gonna add some nodes. And basically, we're gonna kind of, like, create this triangle shape. So will hold shift on. We want to get right to the center of that corner, and then we're gonna create that first edge and basically drag it down. Um, so that we create a shape, a triangle shape in this area, and we want to make sure that it's done far enough that it's not going to create like, anything outside of the angle. And then we're gonna close the shape, and then we're gonna fill it with that same color, and then we're gonna right click and select both that triangle and the rounded circle, and we're going to group it together. That is, we're gonna copy that. We're gonna pieced it on top, and then we will change the fill color toe white, and then you're gonna hold shift and you're gonna pull in your corners to create this layered of fact with the white section on top of that blue. Once we're done with that, we're going to select both that inner shape and then hold shift and select the outer shape . And then we're going to right click, and we're gonna group them together. And then once we're done with that, we're happy with the way it looks. We're just going to right click, and I'm gonna copy and duplicate it s so that we can have two of these and I'm actually going to increase the size of these just a bit just because I want to have a little bit more space to be able to rate. Um, so to do that, I'm just going to drag down the lower section off the shape so that it increases the length Once I've revised it, Aiken, drag it down into the place that I need it now. Now I'm going to create the get it done like section title on the little header section. I'm gonna use that rectangle shaped tool again. Just gonna create a fin rectangle, the very top. And then I'm gonna change the line color to like the screen. And then I'm going to use the text tool to add text to the inside of this. I'm just gonna add Ah, the saying, get it done. I'm gonna revise my, um, text box and then just kind of pull everything down. So it's centered in that shape and again, use those red guidelines to kind of help you place items. Once I'm done with that, I'm going to add some lines, so I'll select my pen tool. I'm going to click on the inside of the white area of the box. Um, and then I'm gonna hold shift, and then I am going to drag my line over to the right side just so that I get a line that it's pretty much kind of center in there. If you notice that, um, your line doesn't have a stroke, it could just be like what I have. It's a fill. Instead of a stroke, just click on that double arrow in your swatches and remove the Phil and have the stroke be green. Once I'm done with that right click and I'll copy and then I'll paste and I'll drag my lines down. Come and then I'm gonna select all the lines together, and I'm going to align them using my online tool in the middle, and you're able to align horizontally in a line vertically. First, we're gonna line vertically in the center so that all of the lines are evenly spaced. And then I'm gonna right click, and I'm gonna group them all together. And then I'm gonna copy that. I'm gonna piece it into my seconds square so I don't have to repeat that process all over again. And then I'm in a copy on pace to get it done and that green box as well and paste it down . And then I'm gonna change the tux from get it done to to do list. And then I'm going to change the color of my second box this nice pink again. Just select the shape and make sure the actual shape in the back. If you go into your group, you can click the little nesting arrows down, and then you can go into that blue shape on. Then change that color from blue to any of the other colors that you have in your color palette. Now we are gonna work on creating are on creating are curved like paperclips. We're gonna be using the selection and no tool. I like to use the pentacle arm to kind of create my shapes first. And then I use the eye just my mode for my no tool to a curved shape just so that it makes it a little bit easier to kind of revise and refine the shape that I'm going for. I want to make sure that there is no Phil and I want to just make sure that I have the stroke, um, filled with a color. And then I'm going to select my pen tool. And we're going to be changing the pen mode from Penn mode to smart mode, which basically allows you to create, like the best fitting curve without need for control with the handle adjustments. So using that curve tool in a much easier manner. So what we'll do is we'll make sure we select our pencil, make sure we change our mode from pen tool to smart mode on. Then we're gonna basically create kind of like it's gonna look like you have sharp angles. You see, once we start creating that spiral shape will be able to soften it up. You'll see the curves beginning to appear while we're in smart mode. Eso Once we've created the shape of the paperclip, we can go in using the no tool and adjust the nodes within the paperclip shape. You can drag them in, drag them out, adjust. Um, I'm just so that it creates the shape, um, that you want to have you can make them longer make from shorter. Um, just go through and kind of a just to make sure it fits your needs. Once you're done with that, then you can copy by selecting your black arrow tool. Click your direct selection, click on the on the shape that you've just created, and then right, click copy and then, um, right click paste or command. See community. And I know you can copy it multiple times to create your settle floor. You can change the colors if you want to keep them all pink. Whatever makes the most sense for you. Now we're going to make the notes. Page will be using the square tool. Once again, Make sure you change your swatches to ensure that you just won't have a stroke, but they actually have a fill this time and going to create a new elongated rectangle, and then you're gonna create another rectangle on the inside. Only this time you should be using a rounded rectangle tool and then change that color toe white. And then you can adjust your corners from that 25% to about 7%. And then you can adjust the edges of your shapes, as you need again using those red lines as guides. And then we're gonna copy that rounded rectangle shape and place it on top. And this time we're going to change it so that it doesn't just have ah ah, plain White Phil. We're gonna adjust it so that it has a stroke, and then we can change it to that same pink color as what the background shape is. And then we'll just drag it in to create kind of like this nice, layered of fact with a stroke outline, and then you want to make sure you're always kind of grouping everything together as you work. Then we'll be creating little circles that would essentially be where the rings would go through if this was a real notebook, so we're gonna use the circle tool when a hold shift creator circles and then I'm just gonna copy them and paste them so that I have a total of of eight circles and then I'm gonna select them off. And then I'm going to use the align function in the upper toolbar, and I'm going to align them horizontally within the centers. And then I'm gonna make sure that they're aligned up top, and then I'm gonna right click and group them all together, and then I'm going to use that pencil again and I'll use the node. I'm tool to shift and adjust the the curve of the shape so that I can create what looks like rings. Once I've created that first spring and I use my no chills kind of adjust that curve, I can then copy it and paste it above each of the circles to create what looks like kind of like a ring binder. And then I'm gonna select all the different sections together, right? Click it and I'm gonna group it. I'm gonna take some of the text from the other stickers and just copy it and paste it over so that I can use it in Theoden Schimmel stickers that we're gonna be creating. So when a copy and paste the to do list and I'm just going to change the color of the font from white to a gray on. Then I'm gonna change it from to do list to notes. And then I'm just going to center it in that shape right in the middle, just underneath the rings. And then I'm gonna use my pencil once again to create the lines to create the effect of just notebook paper. And then we're gonna be using that circle tool again to create kind of like a checklist. Affect, amend will select both of the shapes, right, click and group them and then we're gonna copy and paste them down so that we have about eight of these lines. And then if you're finding that some of the lines are not aligned, we can use the align tool by selecting all of them and aligning them to the left on. Then you could also align them vertically through their center so that they're all evenly spaced. I'm in select everything here in group altogether. Now we're gonna create a checklist of fact to for that second to do list, and we're going to use the square shape maker again. Just hold shift, create a perfect square as you drag out the shape on. Then we're just going to create six of these to add right on top of those lines in the to do list. Caustic er And now we're gonna create the little miniature notes stickers on the right hand side and again, we're just using that rectangle shape tool. And then we're gonna use the rounded, rectangle shaped tool to create the weight section in the middle. And then we're gonna just our corners to about 4%. Then we're going to select both of them, and we're gonna group them together once I've created that shape, Then I can just after a group that I can right click it, copy it and then paste it and then pieced it two more times just so that I have a total of four of these rectangles. And then, just like before, we are going to take some of the text from one of the other stickers. I'm just gonna pull it from the notes section. I'm gonna copy that tax and then a piece that and pull it into the smaller rectangle notes . Once I've done that, I can go back through and re color some of these. I'm going to change the outside rectangle to coordinate with this color scheme that we're going with that green that blew that pink on. And then that kind of minty green as well, So I'm gonna go back through. And once I've changed the color, I'm gonna just the color of the Texas well selected all coordinates and metrics. Now, I'm going to copy the, um, notes sticker, the longer one and I'm going to paste it. And then we're going to revise that to be, um, like a little sticker that is all about like, phone calls. You have to make just another kind of like a check box, Really functional item. So we're gonna change the text from notes to calls to make, and then I'm going to add a little section for notes at the very bottom. And then I'm gonna change all of the circles by deleting them. And then I'm gonna just create squares just that we have some variety in the overall look. And just same as before. I'm gonna use that align function to kind of help space things out evenly and make sure that they're all lined correctly to the left or n spaced out nicely between our centers. Once I'm done with that, I'm just gonna select everything once more just to make sure things all group together on. Then I'm going to copy and paste that, um, notes item again, and we're going to use that as the base for our bottom two little sections. That will be stickers that are to kind of highlight things that you're thankful for during the week and like your top three to do for the week, eso will do is we're just going to transform and revise the shapes a bit. So I'm going to delete the inside sections like with the Rings. And, um, I'm going to resize that white square just so that it's all shorter and smaller and same thing with the pink portion of the squares so that it's just a wider looking rectangle. I'm going to copy all of that, make sure it's all group together on. Then I'm gonna paste it, and I'm gonna use that again as our base for the thankful for section. So I'm gonna keep everything except the circles. I'm gonna delete that, and I'm gonna change the text from top three to do to thankful for. And then I'm going to go through and kind of revised the colors as well just so that it makes sense for, um, what I'm doing with this color theme just so that we have some variety as well. And now we're going to create the little payday stickers Thes air fun. We're just creating kind of something similar toe what a dollar might look like. Um will create a smaller rectangle, and we're going to use the rectangle shape tool for this. And then we're going to use the rounded rectangle shape tool to create kind of like that stroke on the inside of the square of the rectangle. And we're going to adjust the corners so that they're not nearly as drastic. So we're gonna pull him from 25% of 5%. I'm going to make sure that that has a color within the stroke line off about. We're gonna make sure that that has a a stroke of about 5.5, and then we're gonna make sure has color of light. And then I'm gonna use the circle tool to kind of create that round circle that we see in the middle. And we're gonna fill that with white, and then I'm going to create a text box inside of that, and I'm gonna use that delicious, bold italic font in Germany, type in a dollar sign, and then I'm gonna copy that and pull it to the left and white in the text box so that I can write out pay, and then I'm gonna copy pay, paste it and then pull it over to my right and I'm going to change the word pay today. And then I'm just gonna select everything in the center and group it together stuff, and then I'm gonna copy each of these. I'm gonna peace, Hm. So that we have a total of four. I met him in a select all of them. And then I am going to use a gun that align function to make sure they're all lined. And then I'm gonna go through each one and change the colors just so that it fits within the color story that we are doing and then what I'm going to do now is I want to add some layer effects to each of the stickers, and the whole purpose of the layer of facts is to basically kind of at a three d element to this. So because they're working digital, we don't get the tactile feel of physical stickers when you're placing them into a planner or a bullet journal until we're gonna do is kind of like make that feel somewhat similar in the digital space. Ah, and to do this, I'm just gonna add some shadows to each of the stickers I used. The layer affects function to add drop shadows, so what you'll do is, once you've grouped all of your elements, you can go to that group, and then you can click on that little F ax button in the layers panel. And once you click on that, this little palpable come up and it's basically the layer effects pocket you can add all kinds of differently or effects, really similar to what you might see. An adobe product, the biggest ones that you might want to use our outer shadow, um, Babylon and Boss. And if you like the 30 effect that some of those can come off a little. Um, not as realistic feeling. So I just like using an outer shadow. It's really simple and clean and easy to do. So what you'll do is you'll click on the outer shadow, make sure to check marked, and then you'll get this little layer effects panel and your blend mode. Just keep it at multiply we're gonna be working with Is the radius offset and the intensity ? And we want to increase their radius a bit, and you don't have to have it exactly the way I have it. Um, you can play around to see what you like best, but I find anywhere between 5 to 9 uppers 5 to 9 pixels. Um, with the radius seems to work nicely on, then anything under two for the offset. So it's not too far off to the right, and then the intensity. You don't want to have it too, too dark. So I just bump it up just a bit, Um, and then I keep the opacity at about 50% because we don't want 100%. It creates just basically a dark like a dark box underneath. You want it to kind of like feel defused and that make sure your angles at 315 degrees. And then it kind of gives you this nice little three D effect by adding a shadow to each of your elements. You can just do this one by one to each of your layer options, and then when you're done, make sure you save it.
8. Designing Digital Stickers - Part 2: Okay, Now we're gonna begin working on our digital sticker Page two off this functional set. It's just gonna be kind of like a set of to do lists as well as some additional items. Teoh include for, like, menu planning as well as, um, like a spending tracker and then just some shapes to add some creativity to your little notes and sections. So to start with, we are going to create, um, a long, kind of note page for things to remember. We're going to create a long rectangle using the rectangle tool, and then we're gonna layer on some color again, creating a smaller rectangle on the inside, made with white, and then we're going to create another one of those kind of, like, tab, banner looking items. I'm using the rectangle tool. We're gonna modify it with a natural tool. So once you've created that breath tingle, remember going to right, click it and we want to make sure that we convert it to curves and then we're gonna use are no tool to add a node to the center off the right hand side of the rectangle, and then we'll be able to drag that in to create that cut out effect again. Once we're done with that, we can, um, use the text tool, um, to create a text box of the inside of this, and we're going to use that delicious, bold italics fund. And then we are going to type in things to remember, and we're gonna revise the color of a justice. If I start Grace, it's easy to see on. Then we're gonna increase the size just a bit so that it fills the space. Now I want to create that whole notebook paper of fact again. To do this, we're gonna use the pen troll just to create lines. We're going to create a line on the left hand side, click on the top of the shape, hold, shift and click down at the bottom of the shape. And then we're going to create lines that go across this and I'm gonna be creating three to start. And then I'm gonna select the mall and copying them and continue copying them until I fill the entire page. Um, if you find that they are not aligning properly in the center, we can use the out the align tool again. to make sure that everything is aligned. But if you use those guidelines, um, you should be able to get everything kind of nice and evenly spread out. Once you're done with that, you'll select everything, including all the lines, the white box and then that left line that you created right clicking group it and then select the outside box things to remember and the flag and then right click and group it so that everything is all group together. Then we're gonna copy the calls to make sticker box from our page one, and we're gonna paste it into page two. We're gonna adjust it and change it a bit. We're gonna select the actual, like the check off list. We're gonna bump it down in the middle of the shape I'm gonna delete the notes on. Then we're going to bring the white part of the square down a bit and then we're going to create another flag. Um, we're gonna copy and paste the things to remember a man. We are going to resize it so that it fits inside of this and then I'm gonna line everything up so that it's nice and flush and then I'm gonna select it, and I'm going to group everything together once more. I'm going to delete the squares off of this checklist because I want to add days of the week. So I am going to create a text box. Um and I'm going to basically type in the days of the week, just a single letter option just so that it's smaller. And then I'm going to change the flag toe Agre on. Then I'm gonna copy and paste things to remember and change it to menu. And then I'm going to just re center all of that and then select everything right? Click and group it all together. I'm gonna use that as the base for my daily spending tracker, but I'm going to create more off a kind of like I'm gonna add some variety with the overall style. I'm gonna use the shapes, and so I'll use the shape maker tool for that, uh, shaped segment. And then I'm going to revise it by pulling in that red nodes so that it creates 1/2 circle and then I'm going to rotate it 90 degrees to the left and I'm gonna pull it onto What? What was the duplicate of my menu options that I'm gonna change to my daily spending option . I'm gonna want to make sure that the text that I'm going to place in here will fit. And then we'll use the rounded rectangle tool to create the rounded rectangle that will go right next to it to kind of create the the end of this new shape that we're creating again . We're gonna adjust the corners. We don't want them at 25% we're gonna adjust them to about 5% and then I'm going to change the color of that rectangle to a white, and then I'm gonna basically delete that white inter square that we have. And then I'm just gonna copy. I'm going to revise the text at the top. To do that, we're going to use the rounded directed. We're going to use the rectangle tool just to create an outline around the menu, text them. Then we're gonna change that menu text to daily spending, and then we are going to copy and paste that initial, um, notes section with the M and the rounded rectangle in the curve, and we're going to six more times so that I have one for each of the days of the week. And this will just be kind of like a daily spending tracker. How much you spend, what you spent it on. Now we're gonna create our headers on the right hand side. We'll just use the rectangle tool again we're gonna create. Seven of these were gonna create them in that green color. And then we are going to use the segment tool and create another half circle. We're gonna create about three of these or I'm sorry, four of these so that they match the colors, the color thing that we're going for and then we're gonna use the polygon tool. And what's nice is what's nice is with the polygon tool. Um, you could adjust the number of side using a slider right at the very top menu. You'll see it's asides, curve, smooth points, and that allows you to revise the shape. We're gonna change this to six sides, and then we're going to create four of these, and we're gonna layer some color on top of them by copying the 1st 1 and then pasting it on top and then re sizing it and then centering it so that it gives just like a nice little like creative effect on. And we'll revise each of the colors so that it matches the overall style that we're going for. Once we're done revising and we've layered on each of them will want to select each of them individually and right click and group together. Now we're gonna go back and add the text. I'm just gonna copy on the menu text and piece it on top and then off each of the squares and then revise the texts of Read what I Need It to. So in this case to today, call groceries Erin's doctor appointment and gold getter. So just like a little reminder to keep pushing forward on the working the goals that you're doing throughout the week. Now what I want to go through and do is just individually review all of the layers. Make sure each element of the stickers are grouped together, um, so that they're ready for me when I goto export them as slices and PNG's
9. Exporting Your Digital Stickers: So when it comes to working with digital stickers, one of the big questions I get is basically how do you use thumb? How do you export any of the ones that you create in affinity? Designer? And then how do you load them onto your iPad and get them into good notes? So that's what we're gonna be looking at now. Basically, we have the affinity designer Interfet showcasing the two layouts that we've created with our digital stickers. So the important thing when it comes to the set up of these files, you want to make sure all of your stickers, all of the different elements within the sticker So the line work, the shapes, that text, that they are all grouped together. So to do this, I'm just going to use my direct selection tool. I'm gonna click on that tea and then I'm in a double click inside of my shapes that are surrounding that t. While I'm doing that, I'm going to be holding shift. I'm gonna right click, and I'm gonna go down to group, and this basically groups those elements together. So it's almost like they're all grouped and stuck together, and they can't come apart. We want to make sure that all of the elements within a sticker are all group together in one item. This is gonna be important when we go to export the files. It's P and G's. So I just want to go through my whole file and just make sure everything is grouped. I have all the elements together. Nothing is missing. Nothing is standing out. And then once I'm happy with that, I know all of the elements are grouped together. I'm gonna go over, and I'm going to start my export process to begin my export process. Basically, what we're going to be doing is creating slices, slices, air, basically just ways that I can export multiple p and G's on a page all at once. I'm gonna go to my pixel persona. It's those three circles that are interconnected. And then I'm gonna slack my black selection arrow tool. And then I'm going to basically drag it over all of my stickers on this page and then right click and hit, create slice. And what this does is it basically creates a slice of each of the elements that I have on this layout. and it pulls them into my layers panels that I cannot export them as individual P and G's all at once saves a ton of time versus doing each one individually. So once I've done that, I'm gonna go to my layers panel are my slices panel, and I'm gonna make sure all of my slices that I want to have exported are selected. And I'm going to go through really quick, too. And just check to make sure there's nothing funky going on. Once I know everything is OK, I'm going to select all of my slices also like my 1st 1 And then I'm gonna right click and select my last one, and that allows me to select all of them together and you'll see a big group of purple selections. And then I'm gonna hit export slices and keep in mind before I export by Slices. I already had created a folder in my skull share course folder on, and I labeled it my digital sticker sat and then within their I label folder for P and G's and that in that folder I labeled Page One and page to that I have all of my P and G's organized by page by items so that it just makes it easier when I'm dragging them into good notes. So once all that is done, I'll hit, select or a select everything. I'll hit export Slices and then once I hit export, it will give me my pop up. I have to find the file that I would like to save them in. So in this case, in my still share course, five stickers, page or stickers file, I'm on in my P and G's file on then select page one, and then it will export all of my elements. And then I'm gonna repeat that process for my page two. I'm gonna delete all of the slices that I already had. Make sure anything else that is on that is deleted. And then I'm going to use my direct selection tool and basically drag it across the whole entire page of page to right click hit crates Lis and then select export slices and then go into my P and G's Select Page two and then hit Export. And then I'm gonna go back into my fended designer persona, and I'm gonna export two full pages of these elements just as PNG's or J pack whatever you want, just so they can place them into good notes and use that as my size marker. So had file export ominous elect PNG, and then I'm gonna select my first page, page one, and then I'm going to export it, have it saved in my full page PNG file. And then I'm going to repeat the same process file export, select sticker, page two and then export and find my file. I'm gonna put it in the full page p and G's, and I'm gonna end it with a dash to so that I can differentiate between the two files. And then that's it. Once you look into your file folders, you'll be able to see all of your items and your files save so your full page panties. And then if you go into your P NGS file and then you'll find all of your items and elements within the file folders that you save them to
10. Loading Your Stickers to Goodnotes: The next step in this whole process is we want to export this now, too. Good notes. So we're going to be using the airdrop share function in Mac. But you could also email these to yourself and then download them or upload them to Dropbox and download the monster iPad or even you something like Google Drive. And then you upload them to Google drive and then download them from your Google drive to your iPad. But for this we are going to use the share function. I'm going to select airdrop on that. It's going to give me a pop up and I'm going to air drop this to my iPad. I'm going to select iPad on then. Same thing for my 2nd 1 I'm gonna hit, click on it, right click share, select airdrop, select my iPad on that, it'll share it and then I'm gonna do the same thing. But instead of doing the individual items, I'm going to right click my PNG's Boulder and then right click and so, like, share on the air dropped the entire folder and I'm going to air Drop that into my iPad. And then what we'll see, though, is one that goes to my iPad. We're gonna have toe select a file area that we want to save it to. So once we've air dropped it, we will see this little pop up on our iPad. That basically asks us where we would like to save the file. So in this case, I'm just gonna save it to my file folder because I have something like affinity designer on my iPad as well. I could save it there. But you can also just create a file a folder in your foul system that will allow you to access your anything that's like a P and G or J peg.
11. Tips for Working in Goodnotes: next, we'll go into actually how to import thumb and place them into good notes. So the first step in this process is we're gonna want to go into good notes. If you have your own digital stickers sat in or a digital sticker book in your good notes file, I would suggest opening that, and I'm just gonna pull up one of my sticker page mock ups, and I'm going to duplicate that so that I have a new one because I have one already with stickers on it. But I want to duplicate it so that it's something new. And then what I'm gonna do is I'm going to delete everything off of this page by clicking on those three circles in the upper right hand corner. You'll get this pop up. You'll screw all the way down to clear page, and it'll delete all of the elements on your page. Once I'm done with that, I could begin pulling in my stickers. The way I do this is I like to use the side by side view on the iPad. So basically, whenever you have one apple and you can pull open another apple or in this case the file folder system and drag it right next to what you're working on. So you get like, this double views, so to pull in your stickers, all you have to do is actually I'm going to the folders and drug lemon. But like I mentioned earlier, I like to make sure the state the size is based on what my original file is. So I'm gonna place those full P and G's that I sent to myself there in my photos by clicking on the little photo icon on. Then you'll see a pop up with, um, pictures of whatever is most recent in your photo role. And of course, the most recent thing are the stickers that I just set myself the full pages. I'm gonna click on that. It will give me this little pop up and then I'm gonna resize it so that it fills the page and then I'll pull and my PNG's on top of this justus. The size makes sense, and I'll do that for the right hand side as well. So then what we'll do as we will be pulling in our stickers from our PNG folder directly on top of this just so that we can size them are properly. To do this. All you have to do is click on the sticker file with your finger or with your stylist and then drag it on top of your page on. Then you'll get this. You know your sticker might be bigger. Could be smaller. Um, if it's bigger, all you have to do is resize it. If it's smaller, resize it as well. You exported these at high resolution, so they should be nice and clear. And Chris, So what you'll do is in order to resize them, you'll click on the lower left hand corner. You'll see like a double arrow, Um, and this allows you to resize, and you can just drag out to make something bigger or dragon to make it smaller. And then you can kind of place it over the images in that full page Panji, so that it matches up. We're just going to do this one by one. For each of the stickers. You can also delete them by clicking on the axe if needed. Basically, this is kind of like the most tedious part of the whole process is just dragon in each of the stickers individually, one by one. At this point, good notes does not have the option to bulk load stickers onto a page. Unfortunately, so we may not have a lot in this case or might feel like a lot, which is 40 but some of my sticker packs for like, 600 plus, um, 600 plus stickers. So I have 600 plus PNG's that I'm pulling, and it could take a couple of days to get those files and items loaded. Um, but this is basically what we'll be doing it. What I find is, the more you zoom in to your page, the easier it is to place things such a zoom in. You can just use your fingers on the screen, pinch into, um, till Exume out and then spread your fingers apart to zoom into the page. No, we'll just do this one by one. For each of these stickers, click. Drag it over and use that Laura right hand corner to adjust and re size. So once you're done re sizing and placing all of your stickers, you can then just click under early. Click on your sticker page a man, you should get the selection with the whole entire full page P and G's, and then you can just delete it by hitting the X button. And then you'll see your final stickers placed, um, on top. And that's basically how you optimize and prepare your stickers for use in good notes. Now that you've loaded all of your stickers and good notes, I want to kind of show you how you can use them in your, um, layout. So I am going to basically open up one of my other planners just so that I can show you how I use the stickers in good notes. I'm going to use my digital planner template. Ah, my most recent one that I just created. I'm gonna go into my monthly lee out. The big thing to keep in mind when you're working in good notes is that you have to have your pen function, which between edible and non edible when I'm in the non edible version of my pencil, is it allows me to basically click on the tabs that I have, um, so to get to this, what you need to do is you'll select the little pen icon in the upper right hand corner when it has a slash Through it, you're in edit mode when you are, um, when it has a circle around it, you were in, like, selection mode, so I'm able to, like, click on my different tabs, and it will take me to those specific areas within my planner layout. So I'm gonna go to my march spread, and I'm gonna just add some stickers in here just so that you can see what's nice is with good notes can open up multiple taps. So if you see my tabs here, I have a copy of my sticker page rack up open. And then I have my digital planner template open. And what I'm going to Dio is I am going to select some of my stickers from my sticker pages and basically add them to my monthly layout. So to do that now we have to switch from selection mode to edit mode. So click on your little pen icon so that has the slash through it, and then I'm going to select my last so and then I am going to use that lasso to select a sticker on my layout page. So let's start with, like, something simple, like paid am in a circle with the lasso. Hold it down, select at it, hold it down a gun hit share and then just select copy. And then I'm gonna go back into my digital planner template and using either my finger or my stylists hold down anywhere on the page and then hit paste, and then it'll paste your items and I am going to resize this down and I'm going to If you notice that it kind of looks like a good skewed or scratch stretch, you can always start over exit or just use the up and down or right side off to write arrows to basically kind of reposition it resize it so it doesn't look funky. And then you want to take your stylist or your finger, place it in the middle of your item on, then you can move it around. So in this case, I'm gonna put it on Friday's I'm gonna just hit paste a gun and it will give me it again. Just resize it, Then move it. And if I prefer, it can also, um, copy this resized one so that I can share it. Copy it exactly as it is on. Then pace it again. All right, So I'm gonna go back in, use my lasso tool again. I am going to select some of my like, little reminder call tabs. So So a doctor Hold down with my finger on my stylist copy, go into my digital planner page even with my finger or my Silas and then anywhere on the page and then select paste. And then I can resize it. And if we need to move it and I want to move it somewhere house, same thing, resize it, move it. All right. Um, let's do one more. I'm going to select my little we can vibes tag. So, like my lasso tool, just draw a circle around. It doesn't have to be perfect or exact, just as long as it's on it. That's what matters on. Then either use your finger or your, um, Silas and select copy. Go back into your digital planner template and it paste and then resize it. If you notice that it looks a little blurry. Don't worry. It's just, um it's just good notes. Kind of like rising it down until it's actually placed into the file, cause you'll notice that once it's place, it will look clear. Go on, then. Last one. I'm just gonna add a little like paperclip as a little as a little decorative element along with some of these banners. So copy and then go back into your planner. Spread and paste. I'm gonna just, like, pull this over in the corner, then place it in on that. I'm gonna go into my little banners over here. The bunting. I'm gonna select it. The last tool. Hold down with my finger or my Silas. That copy pasted in. And then you couldn't move it like I mentioned earlier. What I find is that it is often easier to edit and revise and move things if you zoom in. So that's what I'm doing here. And that's basically how you actually place and use your stickers in good notes
