1. Introduction: Hi, everybody. I resign. Welcome to the sculpture class. Today we're gonna learn how to build your first photography. For four years. We're gonna go for all the steps that are fundamental to build all their power for you. So we're gonna start with where to seek for inspiration and how to work with your inspiration that you're going to shoot the pictures and we're gonna talk about where to edit them, how have to set layout, which are the best cameras you can use. And why, When we're done with the pictures shooting and editing, we will talk about how to publish your pictures on life and have to share them in the best way possible. Your project is also gonna be about all the steps we're gonna share each altogether talk about, they have great feedback and I'll learn about how to build our with other people for years . I hope you will enjoy this class. Hope to see you soon. Bye. 2. Inspiration!: So the first step of our cast is gonna be looking for inspiration. There are so many different ways defined inspiration for your pictures. But what I suggest is actually working with what you see around you. First of all, always taken the notebook with you so you can take notes about the things you like. Maybe some colors you have seen maybe some positions of the people sitting a nice place where you could go and shoot again, maybe time. Where did the light is fine or, I don't know, maybe new objects you've seen and you find interesting it in the another Good way off. Finding inspiration and learning, which is your style, is actually building a mood board. I personally like this kind of wood boards, So I like to print my pictures and put them in a sketchbook so I can always see them and then decide which ones are been representing what I'm doing. So, for example, here I was thinking about some funds, and then I had some illustrations, and then I had some other things already done in my portfolio. Some pictures. I've taken some pictures of some exhibitions where bean. So here I could see which one waas my kind of taste on which waas Somehow my direction after you've done your first move board, then you could go back and start taking out some parts that are not very related to the others. Some things they're not entirely sure. So by can you're gonna have a mood board represents what you like at the moment, and maybe what we will try to work on. Another good way to find inspiration is actually, magazines books off every kind of time. You can go through a lot the things you prefer. For example, I really like design magazines because they have really good pictures. Off endears are very good advertising victors, because that's the kind of style like in the moment. But for example, if you're more into fashion, if you can take some fashion magazines and safer installations there, or maybe some books were specifically made to learn how to shoot photos, they might have some great inspiration about I know how it over for a crowd, or how to go many close ups or how to work with colors. It all depends, but what is fundamental that you do is actually making a selection of the pictures you like looking them and be interested in not Onley, which the subjects are, but also the lighting in which they're the size of the picture and also the camera there shut with. So this was our first that Thanks for watching continue watching for the next steps. 3. How do I shoot my pictures?: So now it's time to go out and shoot your pictures. The best thing to do is actually taking a lot of pictures. So you will have a lot of samples off what you like, and you can start setting your camera on, go around and see Maybe what the time is better to shoot the pictures you like. Also think about the device you wanted pictures that because not all of us like to work on digital cameras off course, I suggested to work manuals that you can set all your lights opening the timing of the camera because when you shoot an outdoor is not always giving you the result you like. But you can also try different other cameras. I personally like Polaroids, which are also very good to take samples of your pictures. For example, there very much used into, um, into fashion. Photography's to have samples off outfits are this guy's face. So you may be might shoot some pictures with your Polaroid and then make a move apart all the pictures you like more and then shoot that well, you're still camera. About a type of camera you can use is actually an animal camera off course. Used analog, you have to know a little bit more about photography a little bit more about the paper you should use. But if you have an analog camera, I extremely suggested to take urinal, broke out bison, different kinds of paper and then God and shoot and then see, when you don't love your pictures, which ones are you prefer? More off course, depending on the type of camera you're shooting with, the quality off, the pictures will change, and also the grain of the pictures will change. So keep that in mind. If you're using a digital camera, don't worry too much about the camera you're starting with off course in a lot depends on the camera you're using. But also a love depends on how you use the camera. So be sure to make a lot of exercise. If you have a friend who has a different type of camera, are different kind of object. Just ask them and use their operative and their camera. Maybe you can discover different way off the other thing that you like more, depending on camera using. But be sure to be happy with the results you have, and be sure to make a lot of exercise because that's gonna be fundamental. Also, for the next steps 4. Let's talk about editing: So now you have your pictures and it's time for the editing section. So let's talk a little bit about what editing is. There are different, kind off ways of thinking about how to read your pictures. It's a lot depends on the type and integrity or pictures you're shooting. For example, if you're shooting fashion pictures or very precise close ups, editing is always a fundamental part because you have to just all pictures, all the lighting, maybe make some colors more vibrant. You have to keep that in mind, personally kind of photography. I do, and I like more is more sort of a natural kind of photography. I like to show how the people are actually looking real life, so I don't like to edit their skin too much or their background too much. You just have to be sure, in my opinion, that your photo looks clear and that it perfectly shows what you want to show in a picture . Always be sure that everything is in focus now, all of the picture, for example, if you have a very close object, be sure that this object isn't focused on the background is not so we will put way more attention on your object. You can adjust the sphinx also the quality of the picture grain, the lights and also the focus using photo shop. And that's the softer I suggest, highly suggest, because it's easy to use. You can, if you can download it on, set up different the difficulty level you have. So how much knowledge you have bullish and Photoshopped as also, some great tutorials. What you always have to keep in mind when it comes about anything is especially filter shop . It's lights saturation on colors. When you're just this free, you're almost. If you want to go on and have add some more editing, that's up to you. But well, I personally will focus on is that if you're not using a digital camera off course, using analog, the possibility of anything is almost impossible. You have to work a lot on the pictures when you're shooting them. Be sure that the lighting is precisely as you wanted, or if you're shooting something a little bit more random, just be sure you get some great effects with your pictures. If you're shooting with your phone, which is also a possibility, there are some kind of very good APS. But personally, what I would do is downloading the phone version of photo shop or light room, especially right. Life from is very good, because it makes it basically make a sure you can do the same things you're doing under computer, but on your phone so you can have a quicker editing on. Still, share immediately your picture or downloaded in phone size. That's also good options. But be sure that all you want to do in your anything is related to the kind of pictures you shot in the beginning. And it's not changing the picture completely, because when the editing changes completed a picture, it means you were not sure when you first it that picture. 5. Wrap up!: So now we're getting closer to the end of the building off our portfolio. It's time to choose how you want to share and where you want to put your for for you personally, what I like to do with my first portfolio was actually printing it. I printed it very big in size so you could see all the details of the pictures. I chose this particular kind of paper because it's not a sudden paper is a reflecting paper , so it gives a little bit of life back. But off course. If you want a print, I highly suggest not printing immediately in big size but doing some task pictures so you can see the different paper. How rats with your picture. Because for, for example, if you print black and white satin sometimes is a very good option for your pictures because it gives a little bit off that and a little bit of like some sort of monsieur added due to your pictures, that's very interesting. So if you decide to print your pictures, you have to keep in mind. Did you have to keep them somewhere? I personally like to show them keeping them in a box that it's in the same color scheme as the pictures. So my box is a little bit pink of yellow so that the pictures are also seeing color scheme , and it's nicer when you take them out and show them to someone. If you print them smaller, you could make like a flick book, or you can just put them in a smaller box and show them, um, print them and then glue them to a paper to your Moleskine to whatever you like. But, yeah, always keep reminded. Also, where you put the pictures have to be related somehow. Decide off your pictures. If you decide not to print of pictures, it's important to learn that when you share them, they have to be. In a way, they have to be presented in a way that reflects what the idea behind Waas. So if you're, for example, shut so very nice naturalistic pictures outside, I don't know in the mountains. It's a great idea to put them in an A for four months so that the person he sees them on the screen can have a full view of your picture. Can see every single detail. It's important if you have bigger pictures, smaller if you have some in or is gentle and some vertical to try to make a layup, that is not just focus on one type off picture if you want to make a sort of flip book, but it's an on line one and you have some vertical and horizontal pictures. For example, the best thing to do is open in design, which I know is not the most like for everybody. But it's very useful when you have to work with the layout and then seven a 42 pages sprint and then try to set your pictures the ones who are horizontal, maybe a little bit in the middle off your picture and then some smaller vertical next to them. Or work with full pages and 1/2 pages. Never, ever choose a vertical said that if you have a vertical and a horizontal because that's gonna make the horizontal pictures like a little bit weird annually and not everybody's going like flipping through even digitally performing that has some weird shape pages. So keep in mind, horizontal is the key off course. If you're not familiar with the layout, you can always google some layout. I can put you some suggestions in the lace where you can just add pictures for the layout and that's gonna be done for you or when they also highly, highly suggest. If you still have the magazines used to take some inspiration, go for the magazine and look how the pictures are displayed in the magazine. So you're doing some I don't know, fashion photography's Take a fashion magazine and see okay, full pages with a little bit of text. Yeah, that's great. That's the way you go from. Remember, you always have also to explain a little bit of your work in your lay out, so be sure to add small like names off their pictures. Or maybe a little bit of explanation on why you did this pictures where you've done them, which, which divisive, done. So the person is who is going to see your portfolio will also happened over you what your photography skills are with your editing skills and how much effort you put on your pictures and what's the sense of them. I hope this was useful to you next 6. It's time for sharing!: So now it's time to put your over folio online, which are the best, but for us personally. What I love is be hence hence gives you derive dimension because it's all based on portfolios and works, which is great because the people you will find on the hands are gonna look for ideas, maybe some portfolio, maybe some for size pictures. So whether I suggest is open up the hands ago, if you already don't have one and then put your pictures and but be sure to work from the layoff, as we said before, so delay it should be for for Beyonce should be pretty basic. But well organized has to be a very good description, but also what you should care a lot about Begins is writing the right description on the right keywords. So when people are looking for portfolios, pictures and you're going to write the style of your pictures, the camera, you shot them with the editing after you used, they're gonna find it. So be sure off that be sure to also look for other portfolios on behind, so you will kind of create a from off people looking at me. China's portfolios That's gonna be a nice experience. And you can also find other inspirations for I don't know, performance is gonna make in the future another platform that I highly suggest. And it's based on photography. Off course. This flicker so flicker has the great thing that it allows you to put your pictures in high definition and also you can set. And that's all after you that people can now look your pictures or can download your creatures. If I were you and we're not interested in selling my pictures, I wouldn't personally put them on freedom. Look, just because of copyright reasons, that's a lot of mass for the beginning. But be sure that people can see your pictures. Sure, you under the right groups on figure. There are people who are in groups off natural photography, design photography, architecture for the feeders, everything you can find Amazing, amazing community there, too. Um, yeah, at a good place of sick for inspiration, great place to be no great place to show your pictures at their best. If you also like to show your pictures and maybe let someone use them for editing on editorial or for publishing reason, you can try. I am. It's also very nice community. It's very good you can monetize with your photos. But personally is not all about for four years, so I will start with Flicker on defense. They're the best ones. Then if you have Facebook, instagram, whatever you can always here for four years like that and that's great. 7. Your project: your project. So your project is gonna be all the steps that we went through but shared with our skill ship. What do you need to do? So, first of all, create the project in the section dancers start saying, Hi, I am this person on. I really like this kind of photography. And then you can show us your mood boards, show some examples of the pictures you like. Then we will have feedback and will comment on the pictures you have shot off course, there's gonna be a lot of great feedback If everybody works on this, it's gonna be great to see everybody then dropping from the ideas of normal boards, the words your pictures, then seeing your editing, seeing which kind of layouts you're gonna choose your discussions about layers. And then we're all going to share our online links or our pictures off our analog projects on DSI altogether. What we don't. So I hope you like this glass. I hope to see you soon in the next class. Um, it was a pleasure by
