mesmerizing journey together
2. Gathering Supplies: Start crafting. It's important to have the
right tools at your disposal. In this tutorial will cover all the supplies you'll
need for this project. From epoxy resin and silicon
molds to Dried Leaves and safety equipment will explore the purpose and the
importance of each item. Now the first tool that we
need is a weighing scale. Measurement matters a
lot while dealing with the Epoxy inaccurately measured resin and hardener
will not cure. So it's very important to be exact and avoid guesstimating. I use a measuring scale simply because I have one
easily available. But you can also use a glass or plastic cup with the
measuring scale on it. Ensure that the scale is set
to zero before you start. Gloves. In its liquid form, the resin is very sticky and gloves helped to
protect your hands. A mess, as well as
possible skin irritation. Simple nitrile latex gloves, easily available at a medical
store is the best choice. They're strong, inexpensive, and very comfortable
to work with. It's no surprise that one of our key ingredients for
epoxy resin is the resin and Hotmail that are a variety of brands that
you can choose from. But you should make sure that
they have the following. They're made for Art. There's no yellowing,
should be affordable. You can also buy epoxy off
any local Art or home store. I bought mine, trauma
local Instagram store. All epoxy comes into parts. The Epoxy and the hardener both must be v6 and the ratio
mentioned on the container. Before you start
creating your design. Now, you will need to
use Mixing gaps for every separate pigment or
decorative item in your design. As epoxy sticks to the cap
N is difficult to get off. I recommend using
disposable plastic cups. Plus since we are not doing
any sort of color mixing, we will only need one cup. Mix the resin and
hardware together. Again, you need steroids
to mix the Epoxy and hard now and also mix
the pigment separately. The size of the starter usually depends on the amount
of epoxy you are using. For small things like
coasters, jewelry, etc. you can use a simple
plastic floods store or even an inexpensive
ice cream stick for effective stirring. The amount of steroids
you will need will also depend on the number of
colors you intend to use. We will only need
one starter mix, the Epoxy With the resin. Depending on how
you use your resin. The base can vary. You can use a more to sculpt your resin into a
particular shape. Or you can pour the
medium onto a canvas. As a big Nado, easiest to
work with our silicone molds. You make less
mistakes and you can reuse the same molds
several times. So reducing the cost per unit compared to
a wooden canvas. For our tutorial,
we will be making coasters using silicone
molds with uneven edges. Now, this is where the weekend, you can add several pigments, dried flowers, decorated items, or even something you want
to preserve in order epoxy. In this tutorial, we will be mainly using Dried fan leaves. These leaves have been
dried for over two weeks, simply kept in a butter paper and then pressed
with a heavy diary. You will also be adding some Copper Accents using foil
to enhance the aesthetic. Again, something
easily available at any craft or
stationary store. The copper foil is optional. You can also make your coasters completely transparent
with Dried Leaves, flowers being the
start of the show. Now, this may sound like
an ingredient we want to skip or don't generally see
the reason to invest in. But trust me, it
changes the game. A torch is useful
if you want to have a smooth finish and clear shine with minimal
to no bubbles. I will be showing you the
clear difference in a coaster before and after removing
bubbles with a blowtorch. Once the Epoxy is fjord
and your pieces steady, you can provide some Finishing
by outlining the edges using a Marco good
available in every colors. And you can also
use a relic gains, although the finishing
with paints can get messy. For our coasters, we will be using a metallic copper
pen for the Borders. Awesome. By the end
of this section, you are now fully prepared to embark on your creative journey.
3. Mastering Measurement: Precision is key when
working with epoxy resin. In this tutorial, we'll guide
you through the process of measuring and Mixing
epoxy resin accurately. Yolanda resin to harden a ratio. Timing considerations
and techniques to ensure your resin mixture sets
perfectly every time. Now before you start
any epoxy project, make sure to wear your gloves. I cannot assert
enough how important this step is because
epoxy is ticky, very difficult to get
off your hands and can sometimes also
cause skin irritation. Now, let's bring out
a weighing scale. Before you start. Ensure your weighing
scale is set as zero. Then account for the weight of the empty cup before you add
the resin mixture to it. Now, depending on what
you're planning to make, the amount of resin you
will need will vary. Calculators available online to measure the amount of
resin you would need. Based on the Measurement
of the base. I will link a few resin
calculators in the description. So you can refer to one of them. Now, based on my calculation, we will require 60 ML liquid. That means based on the ratio 40 ML reason and 20 MLF partner. Started by adding
the resin slowly to the cup to ensure that the
measurement does not go here. But now here I
added one ML extra. But I think we can
work with that. Once you've added the
desired amount of resin, add the hardness
up on top of it. Please note all these are the resin before the hard
enough for a better Finish. Now take a Stata and Mix the
Epoxy well with the hard. Not. Don't try and start to hard as you might create too many bubbles and
reduced Saturday. Although that's something
will take care of in the end. This is just a
fast-forward clip. You guys I was not
studying this fast. So make sure that
you started well, but don't do it
too aggressively. With that, we've created a strong foundation
in measuring epoxy, which will equip you
well for crafting ahead
4. Arranging Dried Leaves: Nature's exquisite beauty
takes center stage as we delve into the
Art of arranging Dried Leaves within
our silicone molds. This tutorial, we'll explore various layout options and
artistic considerations. Prior to starting. Ensure that the
coaster more so clean. You can accomplish
this by washing them with water or using
a damp cloth. I had already cleaned mind with lukewarm water and then let
them air dry upside down. Now, regardless of
your cleaning method, it's crucial to attain
a pristine surface as even the tiniest particles will become noticeable
once the resin SQL. Another thing you need
to be mindful about is to orient the front side
of the Leaves uniformly. Now, this might seem like
common sense, too many, but it's worth emphasizing that all Leaves should face
the same direction. Alignment ensures that the
top side of your coaster, when placed on any surface, presents a consistent
appearance. One of the most
appealing aspect of epoxy Art is the freedom
from rigid guidelines. Feel free to experiment with
different leaf placements on the coaster to Discover the
most pleasing arrangement. Here, I'm just trying to take funds of
different sizes with different colors of
green and place them aesthetically on the coaster. In-order to cover the
slide empty spaces, I'm taking the leaves
from specific funds, separating them, scattering them throughout the coasters without any model. You don't have to
care about making the coasters look identical or similar to each other at all. Just start by placing the different leaves in
different parts of the coasters. Shortened a few to give it more variation in terms
of sizes of the font. I'm also trying to find different color ranges and green if you've done with
the fonts that you're using. By strategically placing
your dried seeds, you can create captivating
designs that will perfectly encapsulated be a sense of the natural world
within your coasters. Let's move on to the next video, where we'll mix the Epoxy and
the copper foil together.
5. Adding Copper Accents: Elevate your coasters aesthetic by incorporating
the copper foil. In this tutorial will
demonstrate how to blend epoxy resin and copper
foil seamlessly. You'll learn
techniques to achieve a balanced integration
of these materials, creating an exquisite
interplay between the organic and metallic
in your coasters. Now grab 23 pieces of copper foil and introduce
them into the resin mixture. You can simply eyeballing it. You can pick the foil with
your hands are a tweezer. It's Your hands are sticky. Now, incorporate
the Copper elements into the epoxy blend. Beloved consistent
mixture as a team. Hello mixing is crucial to break the foil and gives
small minute pieces. This facilitates their dispersion
within the resin mixed, allowing the Dried Leaves
to remain visible. Even after the resin sets. Again, start as much
as you want to break the particles to the smallest
pieces that you can. There you go. The mixture is now ready to be
poured on our coasters.
6. Pouring the Epoxy Mix: The moment oxidation has arrived in this tutorial
will guide you through the mesmerizing process of pouring epoxy resin onto
your coaster moves. Learn how to achieve an
even and controlled for allowing the resin to encapsulate the Dried
Leaves and the copper foil. Prior to pouring the mixture. Remember to wear your
gloves. Once again. With caution. Evenly distributed the resin mixture
onto the coasters. In charting a
balanced division to provide sufficient coverage
for both coasters. Border resin slowly and
with controlled movement. Being mindful not to distract the positioning of the
leaves on the coaster. Close attention to the
following three aspects. Number one, hardly feel any even edges and
corners of the Coasters. With the lesson. You want to make sure that all
of the corners are completely covered so that the resin can take the
shape of the mold. Second, confirm that
all the Dried Leaves are fully enveloped by resin. If any of the leaves
are still popping out, they will give you a
coaster, an uneven finish. Thirdly, evenly dispersed or copper foil across the entire
surface of the coasters. You want to make sure that the foil does not
overpower the fonts. The font as the
star of the show. After you have evenly
spread the Epoxy, with a gentle touch, delicately fill any
gaps in the coaster. Again, be very careful
with this step. You wouldn't want to disturb
the leaf arrangement. By the end of this section, your coasters would be taking shape right before your eyes?
7. Creating Flawless Finish: To achieve a flawless finish, it's essential to eliminate any air bubbles that may
form your pouring process. In this tutorial
will demonstrate the technique of
using a blowtorch. Gently remove any air bubbles, achieve a smooth,
glass-like Finish. Equal butane torch. These are readily available at any hardware stores or even
through online retailers. When using the
blowtorch, in short, it hovers over the coasters at a distance roughly equivalent
to those span of your pump. This measure prevents
excessive eating of the coasters and even
burning of the leaves and the foil genomics hover
it over the coasters, gently, covering
the whole surface until all the bubbles
start to disappear. Let me show you the
difference this can create. This is all your coaster as
well before applying heat. And this is the outdoor. By following this technique, you can introduce a
marked improvement in your overall finish
off the project. This method serves as a valuable addition to
your crafting approach. Elevating the aesthetic
appeal of your coasters, and improving the quality
of your final creation. There you go. You now know the secret weapon to make your coasters looked
crystal-clear up. With this skill in your toolkit, your coasters will have a professional and
polished appearance
8. Unveiling your Art: The anticipation
as we approached the moment of revelation
in this tutorial will guide you through the
careful and safe process of unfolding your
keyboard coasters from the silicon molds. You'll learn techniques to ensure your coasters
come out flawlessly, showing the intricate details and the captivating textures. Once you resin
blending is complete, it's time to allow it to
undergo the curing process. Typically resin during
takes about 24 h, however, for maximum assurance, so it is recommended to let
it cure for at least 48 h. The curing duration hinges on factors such as
the residents quality, the manufacturer, prevailing
weather conditions. I'm several
environmental factors. Your primary goal is to ensure that the resin or
teens full hardness, retaining its shape without
bending or distorting. It is also advisable
to cover your work so that dust and dirt cannot
settle into the coasters. After the given
time has passed and the coasters appear to have
completely taken shape. It is time do unmoored. Just begin by peeling. It can tie from one edge. If it comes off easily without
any polling or bending, then gently push it from
all different sides. This way you'll get a coaster
with the perfect shape. If you however, see that
the resin is still bending, do not try to take
it off and give it some more time to cure. If you take out coasters
that are bending, it might change its shape. And you will end up with a
coaster that does not work. So be careful and avoid
removing if it's flexible. And there you go, your resin
coasters are totally ready. The next step is optional, but it does give us store
like Finish to your product
9. Framing with Borders: It's time to add
the final touches that will truly make
a coasters shine. In this tutorial, we'll
explore how to add a sophisticated Copper
border to your coasters. This part is actually optional, but I think adding an outline to the coasters make
them look even nicer, like something you by now store. These coasters. We're using a special
marker that's shiny copper. But you can find similar
Margo's and many colors. Or you can also use acrylic
paints if you like. It's up to the pen and give it a little
shape to make sure that the ink
flows smoothly. Then begin tracing
along the edges. When using acrylic paints, you have to be more gear for
to make sure it looks tidy. And even since I'm
not the best at Art, I find these pens much easier, faster, and less complicated. Leaky placing the border of
the Coasters with the pen, they're fully covered and all the sides of your
coasters are outlined. Once you're done, give the Margo's enough time to dry
and your coasters already. This step gives an
elegant finishing touch to your coasters that enhances both the aesthetics and also the
durability of your Art
10. The Final Reveal: What an incredible
journey we've had today, capturing nature's
Accents in our Resin Art. Resin and Dried Leaves combined to freeze
moments in time. Solving the intricate
details and vibrant colors. The magic of Art,
meeting nature. Your coaster designs show your creativity, scalars
and individuality. Artists about the journey, mistakes and discoveries,
not just the product. Keep experimenting with resin. And this is just the
beginning of your journey. I appreciate your participation in our Resin Art Adventure. It was special because
if your enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity, I look forward to
seeing you again. Then the world is your canvas. Your Creations are limitless and keep the creativity bunny. Thank you.
