1. Promo: In previous classes, we have seen how to use Adobe Photoshop and maybe some Illustrator to create abstract shapes. In this class today we're going to use acrylic paint to paint some of the stuff and then manipulate them using again, Photoshop and maybe Cinema 4D. My name is Vasjen Katro, I'm a graphic and web designer. I'm the guy behind the Baugasm Project. This class today is going to be a very special one because we're going to paint, digitalize, and create some abstract stuff like this one, this one, and this one, and then use Adobe Photoshop and also Cinema 4D to create some abstract shapes similar to this one. Then in the end, we're going to make a poster. I'm really excited about this because you have all been asking for similar work to these one and showing the practice how to make these posters. This is really exciting for me. I'm pretty sure it's going to be for you. Make sure to watch the other videos and let's make something cool. 2. Introduction to Tools: Hi everyone, thanks for joining the class. This is going to be a special one, had been preparing this for very long time. So what we're going to basically use and do today, are different from all the other of the biogasms here. So we're going to use some acrylic paint, we're going to paint and create some lectures, we're going to take photos of them, maybe you can scan them or whatever, and then we're going to add up that in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and use some Cinema 4D to manipulate the textures and these abstract images we going to come up with one painting with acrylic paint. So basically what we're going to need are different tools. So let me explain to you what we're going to need for this class, and I really hope that you're going to enjoy it, and let's get started. Hey, so we're going to use a lot of acrylic paint, keeping in mind to get lots of colors, try getting different ones. Get cheap ones, don't waste your money on these, we are going to waste a lot of paint, and get white color, that's what we're going to need, lots of white color, we're going to use a lot of these, so keep that in mind. We're going to use also brush, some tools, maybe a smaller brush, some of these and also your hands, you can use these tools but also like a plastic spoon or something. Also, we're going to use a DSLR camera, or you can even share your photos with your iPhone, doesn't matter. Of course, some paper, we're going to paint on these papers, get lots of them. But before that, keep in mind that wherever you are going to practice this, you're going to need to clean up your table or the place where you're going to do this. So use like a plastic bag or like a trash bag and paint on that so it doesn't get messy. This is all you're going to need, see you on the next video. 3. First Painting: Hey, welcome back. Now we're going to use some acrylic paint and paint over this white paper. You can use whatever colors you want, just choosing some random ones. I think these are going to work for us this time, but you can choose whatever colors you prefer. So purple, green, and some red into pink and maybe some yellow. You can choose whatever colors you want as I said, whatever you think is going to work. Also keeping in mind that we're going to use a lot of white, also in this case I'm going to use some white and this is like a primary color. Let's get started. All right, so I'm turning the paper this way because we have more vertical space and I'm just squishing this and just applying some of the paint and just try to be spreading it around and just try different patterns. I think I'm just going to leave it like this for now and apply some red or maybe the red I'm not going to apply as much as the purple. I want purple to be like the main color of this one. You can just make like small parts red like, more like a highlight. I'm going to use the white in this, you can spread it around, the meaning is that when you mix the red with the purple, they're just going to mix together but if you add the white there, that's going to be like the middle and kind of divide them together. I'm using this green, I changed my mind, maybe this is going to look much better there, it seems like this is blocked. Keep in mind that if you have used colors like acrylic paints, sometimes they get blocked so you have to open that and also use some paper towel or whatever, like a tissue and clean up because you're going to get your hands dirty. I'm just using this green and applying it just a little bit, I just want to have only a little bit there. Maybe I won't use the yellow at all. I'm just going with this one, the metal one, and just try applying it around like this, you can create different shapes and different patterns. Better to keep your hand there. I'm just playing around with this and I think applying some more white could work. I like doing it sometimes this way because you can get like a splash of white and sometimes when you do that, it looks very good because you can get some really nice effects in that. You can play as much around with this as possible, you can even try different colors as I said and makes sure to clean up your tools because if you leave them like that it's going to dry there and it's going to be even more difficult to clean them up later. This is something that took us very little time to do and I think we already got some really nice patterns there and like shapes, so you can apply with this and create whatever you want. Let's get this moved apart and do the other one. 4. Second Painting: Hey, welcome back. So for this one, I'm just going to use another paper and same time we going to try different color. So I'm going to use these orange and just apply it a little bit around. This is the sort of orange where it has some glitter in it, I think. But yeah, just apply it around just randomly. I think It's going to work. I think this is enough. We're going to use this as a primary color for this one. Again, I'm using the white one and I'm doing this splashing effect like the previous one. I liked this because it creates those like sparkling white dots. Sometimes it gets a nice texture for what we are trying to do here. So I'm also applying small parts with some pink. Now, I'm also going to use some green. Still, again, don't apply too much because I want the orange and maybe the pink to be like the primer color of this. Yeah, maybe we're going to add some more white and I think I just took the cap off and use it like this because I want to add more there. Using the white, as I said, it's going to help keep like a difference from one color to the other one and makes it spread around. So I'm going to use a brush for this one and just keep it with your hand there and just applied randomly. As you can see, the brush creates a different texture. It creates this lines and I really do like that. Keep the branch for later on because we might need that color that is applied on the brush right now. But yeah, this was so easy actually and as you can see from really close, we got so much nice pattern and also like the texture is pretty amazing. Later on when we use these in Photoshop and we're going to photograph this, it's going to look pretty cool. I think we can come up with really nice stuff, nice image. So as I said, keep the brush. I'm getting new paper here. Now with that brush, you can just do these ones like three different brush strokes and you can get so many details from these. I like to do this sometimes because you see it from closer, it's going to look pretty cool. 5. Third Painting: Hey, welcome back. For this one we're going to use a plastic bag like this. I really like using these actually because it has such a nice texture and it looks pretty good. Just place it on the table like this and make sure that you use some tape to hold it in place because this can slide easily. Using the plastic bag sometimes gives the texture really nice feeling and applying the paint over it can create different patterns and a really nice effect in the end. I'm going to use some yellow for this, starting with the yellow and just not going to use that much as the previous ones. Maybe some white. As I said, we're going to use a lot of white for this experiment that we are doing. Having the white there, it's very good and I highly recommend it if you are trying lots of different colors. Also some orange. Now I'm just going to use the small brush and just to spread it around. With a small brush, you can see that this creates a different pattern and different texture in general, different from the other one. To tell the truth, I like it much more than the other one. But this also looks kind of cool, because with this one, you can get a lot of details and that's what I like of this one. Make sure to clean your brushes. If you move this in a plastic bag, you can create so many nice stuff. Using the paper, sometimes you can get messy. But this one helps you move it around easily. Let's remove the tape. Let me show you what I mean, you can see so many details here and all these patterns and texture, it's going to look amazing when we photograph this and manipulate this later on. You can get so many details on this on different perspective, just moving it like this. See you in the next video and move this apart. 6. Fourth Painting: Hey, welcome back. For this one I'm going to use the black bag on the background. I'm going to use some purple for this. This is going to be the last one we're going to do today so I'm just using that bag on the background and just trying to see what we can achieve with that. Using some orange, I really like this orange because it's very bright and also the white for sure, because we're going to need to highlight the whole thing more than the other ones because this is going to be like a dark crayon so try to use maybe, some more white. Also I'm going to use some black for this just to give a mix between the background and these. Some of times these new colors are blocked so you have to use something to open them. But yeah, just don't do it like me here with the black. But I don't know. Let's see what we can do. I'm going to use this plastic one, maybe you can use a metal one, but I don't think that is going to be a big difference, but I just wanted to try it out. You can create a pattern like this. Depending on the colors that you're using, maybe you want to prioritize the movements depending on the color, if you want more black or more purple, you can do this. I'm pretty sure this is up to you. You can experiment a lot with this. Maybe come up with better stuff than me here. Yeah, it's completely free to experiment with. I like that I'm doing this diagonal shapes or maybe applying some of the orange might make it, I don't know, highlighted in a way. Yeah, I like this, doing it this way maybe just touching, beating few places. But overall, this looks good to me and yeah, I like this. This is going to be the last one and make sure to clean up your tools. It's very important. Before I used to not do this and just throw them away later on. Just keep them for next project and for the next experiment. Yeah, like cleaning up the tools is good thing to know. This was pretty cool. Now we're just going to go and photograph everything we did until now. See you on the next video. 7. Photographing Artworks: Hey, welcome back. Now we can see what we created. I really like this one because it has a lot of purple. I also really do like this one because it has so nice texture and pattern, and also this one. We can move it around because it's on a plastic bag, as I said, and we can get so many details. But also this one has really cool [inaudible]. Let's photograph them. We're going use maybe a camera or you can even use your smart phone, but whatever you like. Let's start with just getting this one, maybe some closer shots with our phone. You can even use your camera, but you can see even with your phone you can get nice details, I guess. I prefer using my camera because I can get higher resolution photos and get much micro shots. Yeah, you can get closer with a camera and you can get much better results, I guess. But still, totally fine using your phone. Also, as I said before, for this one, you can put your hand below and move it around and create different pattern and maybe texture. This is pretty cool and I really like experimenting with the plastic bag. Also with your phone, you can get closer and get some really nice details, I think. It's totally up to you. You can use both if you have a camera and see the results in the end. But I'm pretty sure that you're going to come up very nice. You can see here the details and looks pretty cool in my opinion. All right, we're going to use this images we took and I'll change them in Photoshop. See you on next video. 8. Editing Texture: Hey, welcome back everyone. After photographing everything that we've painted before with acrylic paints. Now, it's time to edit them, and I have selected a few that I really like here. But I'm going to also select again and just edit a few of this. I really dig these cluster shots like the macro shots, this one, I really like to patterns and also like the, I don't know, like the obstruct part of it. It looks pretty cool to me. This one, and also this is stack when you get the shots up close while also I had my hand in the plastic bag. You can create these wavy affects, I really like this one. Also this one with a brush stroke looks fine, and maybe I can try and do something manipulate this in Photoshop, but I don't know, let's try it out. Also this one is same as the other one, but you can see more of the stroke. This one is my favorite actually because you can see those white that I was mentioning before with the splash looks pretty cool because you can just play around with that effect and come up with really nice effect. Like if you get closer shots like this one, oh my God, you can manipulate these later on and creates so many stuff. I'm totally looking forward to see what you guys going to do with after this class. As you can see here is different shot of that one. It's different, but same time like a different perspective. But I selected these because I like these shots that I took, and I'm decided what I'm going to do. I just got a bunch, and also this one is very cool because you can see the pattern and the texture of the brush actually that it's so Christian like the lines. It's unique from the other ones, and here I have some closer shots of that one. Also this one I actually really like the orange that I used in this one because you can see the highlights in some of the part like the light reflecting in these. That's a quote part of about it, and also like using the black plastic bag as a background, I think it's going to work pretty cool because we can use that effect and like the waves are like the, I don't know how to call it, but you can get some pretty cool. Even like these looks awesome, like just editing and look at this part over here where the splashes on the black, it's oh my God looks like space. You can do so many cool stuff with this and also this part as well. I'm really liking this section over here where you can see like all these parties, it's pretty cool. This one as well, like look at all these white in here, and also the highlights in the orange paint, looks amazing. I just selected these probably you have selected and you can come up with something different, maybe use different colors, but for this one, I'm going to use some of these. Let's get started with the first one. I'm going to use maybe some short of these. I would like to try maybe this one because it's more like you can see a lot of this, and let me just grab these one and add it in Photoshop. Oops, cancel. Having it here in Photoshop, we can play around with so many stock with this. I often choose adjustments, you can find them right here, but if you can see that you can go in window, and go to adjustments, and open that tab. This Layer is locked, we can keep it like that, but I don't like to keep layers like that so hold Alt on your keyboard and just double tap on that, double-click on that, and it's going to get unlocked. Usually the first thing I tried to do with this one sees that I had, and I think it's like the trick and make them look much better and much brighter and like neon, I don't know how to spell that. Like getting that shiny effect, and the trick with this one is getting it inverted, so go here and just all the inversion. Like you can already see that these get the color more popping and more like bright in general. I really like doing these with all of that because it gives us different effect to it. Let's go back to adjustments, and let's play a little bit with brightness and contrast. I'm going to just increase the contrast and leave it here. But usually what I like playing with the staff is like using some playing with Hugh. You can see that you can now completely change the colors that we used, and this opens like a complete different perspective on approaching this. For this one I think I'm going to go with something more like until the purple or like somewhere here, like having the blue and maybe being somewhere there. Let's go back to adjustments, and maybe let's go to the Hugh again. Let's increase a little bit the saturation so we get more colors. Go back to adjustments and maybe go and to channel mixer, and then just get the play around with the stuff. I often just experiment with all this stuff until I get to the point that I really like this. I like what I'm getting, also keeping in mind that what I'm recording right now is completely Experimental site, I don't know what I'm going to do with this one and might end up also being really bad, I didn't know. Playing around with these colors and also with the color balance, sometimes it works. Maybe this time not that much, but I'm going to go back to, let's play a little bit with the Gamma and maybe some Vibrance and Saturation. Well, I'm going to go back to saturation and maybe change it a little bit, and see what we can get really like these right now. Like here, I think it's a good place to top in away, but I'm also going to use maybe where was the color balance? Play little bit with this, I like that. I'm really digging this part over here. If you can see only these parts in here, I really like them how they can came up. But let's leave it for now in this and maybe just add on top of all these levels, and see what we can, oops. Maybe not use this, may be use, let's see. Exposure. Again we had it before, but like this. Usually what I also like doing with the staff is that I like cropping it in general. If you grab the crop tool, you can just go in this part over here and use that on one. If you take these photos with your camera, it's like a high-resolution one, you can get really nice clean shots of these. If sometimes the staff are not that clean or not the sharp, you can go to Filter and sharpen, maybe at some smart sharpen, and you can see, and you can play around with this and get some. Hope this fast because sometimes this takes long for bigger images, but I think it's going to work fine for this one. You can even apply some noise. The texture gets like this. I like this because it looks like vintage and gives a really nice feeling. Also something else you can do is maybe you can use oil paint, but I'm going to show you how to do all paint on the other ones. For this one, I'm just going to keep it here, and maybe I'm just going to go back again with a crop because I want to show you something else. I like keeping the editing of these this way with adjustments and having them in layers. The reason why I do that is because what if I want to apply the same editing I did two this one also to the other ones and keep having that for different variations, and then from that I can export different images. In this case, I'm just going to group all of these, select them holding Shift on your keyboard, and press Command "G" and add it. Now, if I remove this, we're going to go back to what we had before, which basically was that, and you can see that this is a big difference from that. What I want to do right now is I'm going to go to the folder and grab another image from the same shot, from the same painting. I'm going to get that and edit in Photoshop again. Let's see, what are we going to get for this one with the same effect. Here you go. Maybe for some of these you might need to play around more with brightness and stuff like that. But yeah, you can just keep the stuff and play around. Let's do it maybe for the other one. Maybe for this one is going to work as well but let's see. It looks pretty cool to me, but I would like for this one maybe to try something different or maybe not I don't know. Enough with this one. With the next video, we're going to do the other R20 and try to apply some different colors and effects to that as well. See you on the next video. 9. Editing Texture: Hey, welcome back. For now, I think we're going to play around with the other image basically this one. Let's start with this one or maybe, let's see. Yeah, let's start with this one. I really like this part over here, I like the pattern and the texture it has created. Let's take this in Adobe Photoshop. As the previous one, let's hold Alt and unlock this layer, go to Adjustments. Let's do again the same thing, like Invert. Sometimes also keeping like this and just playing around with you, and it works. Actually this is looking pretty cool like this. Let's see if we can invert this and what we get. Not that good actually, but what did I just do? No. Let's increase the color, the saturation and then let's play around with this a little bit more. Maybe we can add some Contrast. But you see, here is like, what I don't like about this, maybe it was better before. Lets go back. As I said, this is completely experimental for me as well, I'm just playing around with this stuff. I don't know what I'm going to end up doing. Maybe it's going to look really bad. It's totally up to you to experiment with this and come up with stuff. Let's go maybe to Channel Mixer and play around a little bit with this as well, with the greens. Maybe, what we do, we tried before, I think was color balance. This one sometimes gives really nice effects because you can play with the balances of colors and you give priorities to different colors. I'm really liking this one actually. I think I'm just going to keep it here, or maybe just add some vibrance and increase the saturation maybe or maybe not. You can play with these actually all day. I'm going to group all these edits and go back to the folder and maybe grab another one from these ones. Let's see, maybe this one. Let's set it below that. You see that this worked pretty nice because we got, again, another effect in here. When you drag and drop them, it's going to apply them as a smart objects. Right-click and do Rasterize Layer just going to work faster this way. What I usually like doing as well is like using oil paint, but I'm not sure why it's not showing for this, I have to figure it out. What's the reason that that's not working? Why is that not showing? This is weird. This is a first time that happened, but I'm going to figure it out for the next video, so I'm going to probably show it on the next video how to do that. But for now, let's apply it to these as well some Noise and see how that comes up. Maybe some Sharpening, maybe I need to do the sharpening before Smart Sharpen. This sometimes takes some time to render because it's a big image. But as you can see, we're just playing with Adjustments, you can come up with different colors. Maybe for this one, I didn't use the Invert effect, but it still came out pretty nice I think, and you can use the results of these very often in different stuff. As I mentioned before, you can crop this and you can get different elements. For example, you can get this part over here but just with the circle pointing here, looks pretty cool to me. But also this part and this part looks very nice. But this part here is my favorite because this was such a coincidence in a way, I tried before once and it worked. I mean, using the splash of the white because if you play around with a brush or with a tool, you can override that, but in some spots you can leave the splash like the white dots in there, and looks pretty cool. This is done and let's apply some Noise now. This point looks good as well. I think I'm just going to crop some part of this so you can see the cropping. I'm going to crop this one, this part here. Maybe just do it this way, just for the image and get some more Contrast because I don't want to affect the group, I just want it for this one. I'm going to save this on desktop, 01, not as a PSD, JPEG I think would work, high-quality. Let's go back. Maybe what else we can grab from this? Maybe we can grab an image this way and we can rotate this in 90 degrees. We can use it this way. Let's save this as well, desktop 02. I can do that later, but let's go back to the other one, this one. I'm really digging this part over here, looks amazing to me. Was so good that we tried that splashing effect. Again, it's pretty cool. Let's add some Contrast to this. Let's go back to the saturation and change this, maybe we can get a different color, like here go to Channel Mixer and let's play a little bit more around with the stuff, just in case maybe we can come up with something different. Look, now we're getting somewhere because I'm just introducing new color in there because it's completely blue and we have that pink in there. I highly recommend that you spend some time playing with this stuff because, I don't know, you can make so many cool stuff by just changing them around and moving them around. Let's do maybe Channel Mixer again and see what we can change to this. As I said, I'm liking it right here. As I said before, just play around with this and you can come up with different stuff. I'm just going to save this as it is. This is number 03, Save. On the next video, I'm going to open the next image and edit that as well. See you on the next video. 10. Oil Painting In Photoshop: Hey, welcome back everybody. As you can notice here first, I'm using a different computer for this one and I already have opened the image, I'm going to add it here. But the reason why I'm using different computer is that if you noticed on the previous class, I tried to work with oil paint in Photoshop and apparently I never done that on my computer where I record the classes and that computer is an old Mac. Apparently, I don't have OpenCL graphic processor on that computer. I needed to get my new MacBook Pro, I guess is 2015, to use that. In case you don't get this effect or it's grayed out or when you go to filters, if you go to Filter and go to Stylize and Oil Paint is grayed out like the previous video, probably you either you have to switch to RGB in mode here, or maybe you can go to Preferences and go to Performance, Advanced Settings, and click here use OpenCL if this is not clicked. For me, I don't need to do that. But for some computers, it might require that. You can activate the oil paint tool. But if it doesn't, I'm sorry, but it's not really necessary because we still going to use and add these in a different way. But that effect is pretty cool, so I really wanted to show you. Let's continue, and as before, I'm just going to double tap and unlock that. I'm going to go to maybe invert for this one, and then go to Brightness and Contrast. I like it here, but I would like to play more with the hue and saturation again so we can play a little bit more with the colors. For this one, I'm liking this one, but I might play with channel mixer and see what we can do here. Let's bring the blues down. I like this now where it's headed in a way. I'm just going to maybe increase a little bit this, let's go to Vibrance, get some vibrance up, saturation, I'm really liking this part over here and some of these over here. This looks pretty cool. Something else I can show you is that maybe for this it's going to work. I think so Filter, Stylize, and go to Oil Paint. With oil paint, you can play around with tools now, you can see here in the preview that you can get some really nice, like I don't know if you can notice, sometimes this might make your computer go very slow, but you can notice that, let me just zoom there, you see like you get this oily effects in there. You can play around with this all day, I guess. You can come up with so many cool stuff with just using the oil paint effect as well. I'm just going to press "Okay" and see what we achieved with this. This might take awhile. It usually does because I'm also using a big image for these, but I could stay in and play longer with that in in Photoshop and with oil paint effect and come up with different stuff. If I zoom in here, you can see the details and you can play around with oil paint and create pretty cool stuff. I'm just going to save this, export this, and then you can then apply this. I'm going to apply this texture in Cinema 4D. If you don't have Cinema 4D, it's fine, you can skip the next video and continue to the next one. This is going to be exciting, we are going to make a poster in the end, and yeah, see you on the next video. 11. Creating shapes in C4D: Hey, welcome back everybody. On the previous videos we saw how we can manipulate the paintings we did earlier today. But now we saved then exported those. Here, let's go and check out what do we got so far. These are some of the exports I did, so I'm really liking this one and also this one is similar to the previous one, but this is pretty cool because you can get so many details. Also this one, I really like that and this one as well. This is one of my favorite, and this one as well. This is like the same family. But I mean, pretty sure you'll come up with different ones and they'll look much more different than this one, but this is pretty cool because you can play around with this all day just in Photoshop and applying different FX and adjustments and change colors and so on. This is the cool part about it because you can just play around with all of these. Something more I wanted like a bonus that I didn't mention before is that if you have this one, you can even go to filter, rasterize layer, you can even go here like filter liquefy. I have a complete class about this where you can see the whole thing, but check the previous class here in Skillshare and you can see how I did this, but like with this, you can go and grab the Twill tool or maybe even this one and just spread it round and you can warp it around and change the shape of it much more. This is very exciting because you can get so many cool stuff by just playing around with it. Sorry. Let's go back in here. As I said, this is what I exported and this is what I got so far. This is completed experimental tutorial. I also don't know what what's going to be in the end, so as all my classes, this is a style that I prefer to do it because this is exactly how I do my pollsters everyday. The next thing is we're going to apply maybe these textures in Cinema 4D and see what we can achieve there. I'm going to go in cinema 4D and what I'm going to create is, I'm going to create a circle, a sphere. Just going to make it bigger. I'm going to go display lines. Now, I'm going to change the layout to sculpting. Select this one, and then check that one. Now you can subdivide this and create more polygons for this one. I wouldn't recommend that you go more below 282,000 because your computer is going to get still down. I'm going to go to display and shading. I just see this, that just moves it around, but it's just going to take more time to render, if you do it that way. Now what I want to do is I want to cut this circle, this sphere, and add some uneven shapes. The way to do that, there's all these tools right here. I'm going to go with maybe inflate. I'm just going to increase the size and the pressure and you can see it here. By doing that, you can just start playing around with, this sphere and more you hold it and more you move it around more this gets deformed in a way so you can create these uneven shapes. You can even grab maybe the pinch, just like make it bigger and you can create this stuff with that. I really like the wax because it smooths some stuff around and then you can go to inflate again, you can create this uneven surfaces like that. I'm really liking doing this stuff. You can play around with all these tools here, be careful that you don't get to this point, so I'm just going to go back maybe just a little bit here, and don't play more around with it. I'm going to go to Layout and Standard. Now what I want to do is I want to create a new material. Just double-click that, open the material, go to color, and instead of color, we're going to use the texture. What I'm going to do is we're going to go back here to finals and I'm going to use one of these images. Let's see what we can use, maybe this one, I really like this one, let's try this one and see how this is going to look. Drag and drop here, it's asking you to move it. No. Let's apply this to that and let's see if we enter that, how that is going to look like. Now you can go over here and reflectance, just maybe bring it down a little bit. It's not looking that bad. Let's try a different texture, just to see how this is going to play with the other ones. No. Let's just see it out. Am liking this one. You see, just doing that, you can get these shapes and this kind of stuff very easy and they are going to look pretty cool, so what I'm going to do now is just come here, change the width and make it somewhere 5,000 by 5,000. Then to save, I'm going to change it to PNG, but I also want the alpha channel to be checked, so I didn't get a dark background when I rendered this. I'm going to just zoom somewhere here and maybe let's try with a different pattern with different texture. Sorry. Let's try with this one maybe and see what we got. Well this looks cool. Something else. What you can do is you can go to Settings here, affect and add ambient occlusion and then global illumination. This is tricky because I prefer keeping my shades to blue and white gradient. Now we're going to need to use some lighting there so let's use maybe spotlight. Let's zoom out and let's change these so you get a better color. Let's zoom and see how this looks like with this shading. Give your mind that while doing this, you are going to, I don't know why the light is not appearing there. Maybe am doing something wrong. All right, on the next class I'm just going to take this off and leave it, I'm just going to go back here and ambient occlusion, let's try it like this. I'm liking what this became. You can see that those details over there, that give it a nice touch and reflectance. We can bring it down maybe a little bit and see what we can do. What I'm going to do next is I'm going to export these and try something else here, in cinema 4D, something that I often try as well. See you on the next video to manipulate this even more. 12. Second Shape in C4D: Hey, welcome back. As I said, for this one we're still in cinema for D, so we're going to try something different. I'm going to go and grab another sphere again, I'm just going to make it bigger. I'm just going to position it somewhere in the middle here. What are we going to do is create a different, maybe we can use this one actually. Apply it here and see what this looks. Sorry about that. I need to delete the previous here. We have this one. You can see that we have also this one. Also, this looks pretty cool to me, I really like it. Maybe I'm going to use it. But what else you can do to these is that if you go to this material, you can double-tap, go here and you have the displacement. If you go to a displacement and in displacement use the same texture you use for the color, you can get really pretty cool results like I'm grabbing these in here, know. As you can see now, this is getting displaced. Maybe you can check the sub polygon displacement as well, but that is just going to make it even more slow render, but let's see what we got. This moved a little bit, but let's see if I change these. More you change this staff, more you're going to get. Let's change the Hide. Maybe change this. See, we are getting there. Let's take that one and see what happens. What if we increase the sub? That's pretty cool. But I think we have to click that so we see the results. I think we were not seeing anything and I was wondering what's the matter. Let's bring the subdivision level to four. Maybe uncheck this at all and see what we can get. There we are. This is what I wanted to get. Now you can just play around with this stuff. You can get some really crazy shapes actually. Look at these. Isn't this amazing? I totally love doing this. What you can also do is you can go to the subdivision surface and then grab these and put it underneath that. That's going to smooth all the edges and make it even more smooth and not have it that sharp in general. But let's see what we got. You can play around with all the shapes and all the elements in there and you can get some really crazy stuff actually. This one came out nice. I think you can play with different textures. Actually I'm not liking this. I liked it how it was before without that. Maybe for this one, I'm going to change the color only. You didn't need to keep the same color and displacement. Because what happens is that it's reaching out to contrast of the texture and trying to displace that one. In case if we change the color, it just going to displace it with that texture, but with different color. Let's grab a different texture maybe. Let's grab this one. I really like this one and see how it's going to become. Let's see. Actually this is not that bad. I'm going to render this as well. Or maybe since we are doing these, let's try with different texture. Maybe with the previous one. With the first one, we did. Let's see how it's going to look like. Pretty cool. You can go to displacement and also just play around with this and see what you can come up with. Because I'm pretty sure different shapes are going to come up every time by just moving this. Here's another one. I'm going to play around a little bit more with this. I'm going to export all this stuff and add them in Photoshop and then build up the poster for the end. See you on the next video. 13. Making the Poster: Hey, welcome back. After playing around with Cinema 4D, I came up making this stuff and rendering this one and also this one. I'm not that happy with them, but I think if I play more around with it, I can come up with better stuff, but I think some of these will work very well. I'm going to grab this one for now, edit it in Photoshop. I'm going to Command A, select all of it, Command+C, copy, and go to the template here where I use to create the posters almost every day. I'm going to paste it here. It's a new layer. I'm going to go Command T to free transform. I'm just going to make this bigger and have it here. I really like this one how it stays with the gray actually. But what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to Adjustments, Brightness, and increase a little bit that and the contrast and see what we can achieve with that. What I want to do with this now is that I'm going to go to Filter, Liquefy and maybe I can increase a little bit the size. I can just change the shape of it like this a little bit more and maybe these corners. I often do this because just makes it spread around much better into the whole layout of the poster. Maybe we can try with the selection tool, only this part in the middle. I'm just going random here. Maybe until here, selecting that and then Command+J to duplicate that. I'm going to go Command+Shift+U. I'm going to blacking that out. Going to Image Adjustment, Brightness and Contrast. I'm going to bring the brightness down and also increase the contrast. I want to have that in the middle that is getting darker and I'm really liking that one. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to create a new layer Command+Shift+N and get the Brush Tool. Increase the brush and make sure you have your own mode, Dissolve. You get complete dark in here, and select the layer on top of the other layer and right click and do Create clipping mask and get the brush with a B. Now start painting here so we can get some parts of these that looks that is on the background. Doing this often with these posters because it gives a different feeling more like organic to it. Maybe you can change the background. Maybe we can have something in purple, so that thing can stand out more. Maybe I can create new layer. Get a rectangle and add it behind these. Let's play around a little bit with this. Maybe we can get a wide box on the background. This works for me. Maybe go with darker purple or something. Now I'm going to create a new layer. Go and get the brush, make sure layer is on the back of the shape. I'm just going to paint over here, it looks more like a shadow of this. I'm really liking this. I'm going to make a new layer here. I'm going to change the size to really small of the brush. I'm going to change the color to white and maybe now I can start doing something that I'm often doing in all the classes. You have seen this doing this small lines. I like them because they give like a different feeling. Like more grungy. But yeah, something else you can try. You can go to Adjustments and you can go to Color balance. You can even change completely the colors of the poster, depending by just doing this stuff. You see it's pretty cool. Can change the complete filling of the whole thing, but just doing this stuff. I'm often doing this because I really like what you can end up doing in the end. Vibrance, saturation maybe a little bit up, maybe I'm going to get off that. But I'm digging this and I'm really liking the. As I said, you can even open the other tools. Let's get the other exports, let's see another one, maybe this one. I'm going to grab this edit it in Photoshop. It's going to make it bigger or I can go to brightness, increase the brightness and contrast. Then maybe some more hue and increases the saturation. Maybe here we can change the colors and see what we can do. But I where it was in here. You can even introduce parts of these. You can get the selection tool again. You can grab only a few parts of these duplicate it and then use some of these as well into the design. I hope you really enjoyed this because this was a long class and this was a different class from all the other ones. I'm really looking forward to see what you end up doing with all these techniques I showed you by just playing with acrylic paint and manipulating that in Photoshop. Then using Cinema 4D and use that textures that we created as a material for different shapes. I think you have so much space and room to experiment with this class. I'm really, really looking forward to see what you can end up doing and make sure that you submit the projects here in Skillshare, so I can check them out, give you feedback, and also help you out if you're stuck on something. If you didn't have a chance to use Cinema 4D for this class, you can even use those textures and create something on your own. But I'm going to update this class in the next few weeks and maybe I'm going to add a new video, so stay tuned. I'm going to create a 3D similar to these without using Cinema 4D at all. This is going to be completely a new level of experimenting because we using a lot of tools. As I said, I'm really looking forward and thanks for staying with me for this long class and see you on the next one. 14. Bonus Class - Making another Poster.: Hey everyone, welcome back and this is a bonus class and I hope you really learned something from the previous poster but I decided that I'm going to use one of the other renders that we exported before and do another poster and also there is going to be another bonus class maybe in a couple of weeks for adopting something in Illustrator using the textures. It's going to be a cool one I guess but until later on, I decided to add that later because it might be too much for starting up with this class right now. Let's choose something from these. We use these. This was my favorite but let's go with this one. I'm just going to open this in Photoshop. I'm going to select all, copy and go back here, paste it, open it, just expanding a little bit to make it bigger. I think here it's good. What we're going to do now it's going to go to adjustments again, maybe on color balance and play around a little bit with this and see what we can do. Let's see. I like this one because you can see that some purple starts appearing in there. Maybe I can play a little bit with brightness and contrast. This is cool, I like this. I think I'm going to keep it as it is for now and maybe we can add some shadows on the back. Let's create a new layer, Command Shift N and bring that layer on the back and grab some of these tool keys blue here and get the brush, make sure the brush is in dissolve and let's start painting somewhere here. Maybe we can add some more purple some parts in there, somewhere here. I would like also to add some orange in part of it. Maybe these orange here, like somewhere in the corner over there. I'm liking this. What if we add like a rectangle on the background? This doesn't look that bad actually but I don't like that orange applied that much there. Maybe we can go with darker. I guess this works. We can leave it like this for now but maybe we can add like create a new layer and maybe we can add another rectangle here but this time we add this on top. Let's leave it here or maybe add some gradient to this. I have used that gradient before on a different poster but yeah, maybe we can create some shadow and add some shadow to these like create a new layer, brush stroke, change the color maybe to this one here and just the painting. Like these and maybe we can just select not all of it like here and I'm going to press Command J and then delete the previous layer. We have this shadow somewhere here, it looks like it's on the back of this rectangle I guess. What else we can do? We can play around with this all day actually. I'm really curious to see what you're going to end up doing because I'm also pretty sure that the paint textures we did are not like mine and I'm really curious to see what you'll end up doing and what the colors are going to be and what the shapes of them are going to be, but in this case, I don't know. I would like to add to this some maybe render or maybe pixelate go to mosaic. Many of you have asked me about this so if you do the mosaic, you just saw what it can do but what I usually prefer also to do is maybe select only one part of it or maybe just like this part here. Select that layer and press Command J, that's duplicated on different layers, so now you can go to filter, pixelate and mosaic so you can get this. You can play around with this maybe if you want smaller squares, but I really like this and looks good to me in a way, maybe we can make these on the back. We can make it a little bit bigger like this so we can see a little bit more of the division here, I like that, but yeah, I hope you learned something from these bonus class as well. I just thought that I might give you more space or more stuff to play around with and experiment with and since we exported a few like four renders and with the texture from cinema 4D, I thought you could play around with these and create something cool. I'm just going to save this and I think something else you can do actually is that if you can come up here and get this one for example, you can open this in Photoshop, copy and come up here. Maybe you can even just use this one and do something else with this one, but you can even just come and get one of these ones, maybe the blue one because I really like this one. Yeah, you can get this added here and just like this. This is basically a different image and you can use this to create so many cool stuff like if I select only the top, duplicate that I'm going to press Command Shift U, it's making it saturated. Then I can go to brightness and contrast, lower that and increase the contrast. You can get that black part over there. Basically you can play around with this stuff all day and you can come up with so many cool things. I highly recommend all of you to submit your projects and I'm going to give you feedback because I've seen a lot of you that are trying my tutorials and are trying to do things, I highly also recommend that you don't exactly do it like mine and pretty sure with this class, you will not get similar to this one because depends what colors you're going to use on the mixture with acrylics. I'm really looking forward as I said to see what you're going to do and yeah, I'm going to post a new bonus class later on. Thanks for being with me in this long class and I hope you enjoyed and you learned something. So see you on the next class I guess. Bye
