So you can practice all of the techniques that I'm going to be showing you. How is you. Whenever you're ready. 2. Tools and Materials needed: What tools do you need to start your biotic? Here is a list of all the materials and tools that you need to get started. You will lead a copy of the design are the sketch that you want to report this under fabric. Some paraffin wax, bee's wax, clear tape, or any type of tape you have that will secure the fabric. Chanting tunes. Chanting tools are traditional tunes. I used to draw an apply hot wax onto the fabric in batik. Some small paintbrushes, HB pencil, a white piece of cotton fabric, soda ash. Depending on the day that you are using, you must follow the instructions of the day that you are using. You may or may not need it. Salt. Also, depending on the instructions of the day that you are using. The die, spawns and node, MOG our cup. Rubber gloves to protect your hands. Walk spot. Walks port is used to melt the wax and keep it at a constant temperature so that he can be applied onto the five-week. A container for the dipole, a big spoon to stir the dye bath. A a kettle for boiling water. And all part for boiling out the wax. And a stove. And don't forget to protect the table where you are going to work. Okay? So when you're ready, I will see you for the next step. 3. Transfer the design to the fabric: Hello and welcome back. Now that you know all the tools and materials that you need to meet the basic fabric. We are going to the next step. Firstly, you will have to cut the fabric, the size that you want. Pre wash it to remove all the dirt and eyes that it may contain, Latin dry, and then iron out any wing goals. I have done that already with my family. Now, I'm going to transfer the design to the fabric. Take the sheet of paper that you have the design on. Place it on the table flat and put the fabric on it. Make sure the fabric is in the right position. We got a piece of the fabric so it can't move. You can see the design of the family with the pencil on the fabric. Now that you have your design on the fabric, we can go to the next step. 5. Dye the Fabric : Now it's time to dyed the fabric. Decide on the color you want for your basic fabric. Make you die bat, as instructed by the manufacturer. They'll forget to wear gloves to protect your hands. Make sure you have enough dieback to submerge the basic fabric completely. For my Dad, Bad, I'm using one teaspoon. This is the color that I choose. And nam dissolving this in warm water. I also need density of table salt. I am deserving this into liters of cold water. And I need first soup spoons of soda ash. Deserving it in hot water. I am now mixing the dye and salt solution together. I'm adding the soda ash solution before adding the basic fabric. Makes sure the day bat. And before you add the fabric, otherwise the watts will melt. Submerged the fabric in the dye bath for 13 minutes. Less if you want a lighter color, are more. If you want a darker color. You can also use more die if she wants a darker color and less die if you want a lighter color. Makes sure the fabric is kept submerge because any contact with the air will begin the fixing process. Move and turn the fabric occasionally. When the time is up, take the fabric out of the diabetes and hang it to dry. Do not squeeze the fabric to remove the bad. Just let it dry naturally as it is. I'm going outside to hang my fabric deleted, try our ICU for the next step. 6. Boiling out the wax: First, I'm going to remove as much wax as possible from the fabric. I am going to do that by running the fabric. Place the magic fabric between two black newsprint. And I run it by using the correct setting recommended for the fabric. I am using an old iron that I only use for Batoche. If the newsprint is saturated, replace it with an adult one. I remove as much wax as possible from the fabric. Now let's go outside and boil out the rest of the wax. Out the rest of the wax. I am putting the fairway into a suspend boiling hot water for three minutes to remove any remaining wax. Make sure the Batoche fabric is covered with boiling water. Use a wooden spoon to stir the fabric in the boiling water. Now removed the batty fabric from the boiling water and place it into a bucket of cold water. The cold water will solidify any leftover wax. The wax from the water and discard it. Remember, you should not use this wax again. Troy into the rubbish and not into your sink because it will block your bikes. Give the fabric is good. Shake to remove even more of the wax, grants it again in cold water. If there is still more Watson the fabric. Repeat the boiling process again for a couple of minutes and rents the fabric again, we called water. Repeat the process until there's no more wax left on the fabric. On your show, your bad IQ fabric has no more wax on it. Wash it, and let it dry. This is the way the fabric looks. When it is dry. We have finished diabetic fabric. 7. Final thoughts: When done, you have finished your first batting fabric. I hope that you enjoyed my class.
