1. Bachata Partnerwork Vol1 1 Introduction: Hi, my name is Karina and I am Jeff to opinion and we are part of incognito Dance Company. Welcome to the shutter partner course for beginners. In this course, we're going to cover all the basic steps and fundamental core techniques that you need for your dancing. Please take your time with this course and go over each module several times. I know it's very tempting to move on quickly and learn lots of new moves. But a strong fundamental, basic technique will help you so much later on to move on quickly. And the overall, a better dancer.
2. Bachata PW Vol1. 2 Frame: Welcome to the first module. Before we start dancing, Jeff and I will talk you through how you can stand like a bouncer. This is not just a static, but also it helps you a lot with your following and leading. So let's start, let's start with our feet. So your feet should be slightly turned out or parallel. Definitely not turned in like this, but also not like a ballerina, completely flat to the side. So just sort of slightly turned out or just parallel like this, then your weights distribution should be on the balls of your feet. So stand normally like this. Then just shift your weight forward as far as he can before your toes start to go like this, start cramping. So just before that point, those toes start cramping. That's your sweet spot. That's where you weight should be. More flexible. You can, you can move faster around if your weight is forward. So just like in sports, a lot of the sports athletes, they move on the balls of their feet. So that's where you need to really be balanced. So you generally, as you stand, you think of it as a vertical axis. You have a slight lean forward. Okay, perfect. Then moving up the body than your knee has a softness to it. So it's not like you're squatting down. It's just if you stand really straight and then just drop your knee a little bit, That's where your knees should be. So it's always kind of have this little softness to it. There are many times when you straighten it just to get effect. But that comes later. Your general basic and general overall movement is on a softer, neat. So if you imagine you'd lock it and then take off lock, That's the softness of your knee. So combined with you being on the balls of your feet and with the softness of the knee. And then you can start moving up your body. Just sort of next section for the ladies obviously wearing heels, that already puts you in that sort of position. Okay. So already pushes you onto the balls of your feet. Also, it's a safety thing that you shouldn't have your heel on the floor too much. Because if the floor has some evenness or a hole or wherever, you don't want to get stuck with your heel. So so moving your weight forward onto the balls of your feet. It's a safety thing as well as aesthetics. And then it has a lady in buckshot that we have our nice spent quite a bit, a lot more than in other Latin dance styles like salsa. In batch. After we, we are quite bent like this. That gives your hips a lot of flexibility to move. If you have your legs straight, your hips are quite stiff. If you have your legs bent, you have a lot of flexibility to move your hips. Talking of hips. Your hips should be just relaxed to the back. So you have this natural arch in your body, in your lower back like this. Don't squeeze them underneath you. Just relax them to the back. Like this. Also don't push out too much. So you can still control it from your core. Sometimes it helps if you put your put your hands on your hips and sort of turn them Forward so you have an anterior tilt to the hips. It's ever so slight. Okay. Now, that will assist you to have that anterior tilt your hips, your chest has a tendency to pop out. So as the hips pop forward, your hips go back, your chest pops forward. So this is combined with big on the balls of your feet, soft knees and tear a Tilda hip and he has his chest forward. So if you imagine you've got your hip region and your and your chest region. As one goes back, the other one goes forward. And the whole time It's not a case of tilting forward. You have to try and avoid that. It's a whole body had his movement and then There's counter chest, slightly forward, hips slightly but it's not to the point. And find your shoulder doing this, you've gone too far. The shoulders always remain neutral so they can move in all directions equally. So the key thing really, going from top to bottom, balls are used to be on the balls of your feet, not popped up just enough that you're leaning forward, knees, bent, hips have a tilt, pop, chest naturally will come forward off that. And then finally, the head. If you had, you really want to just look straight ahead. Your head is quite heavy. So if you look to the floor or you look to the ceiling, that will put you off balance, especially when later on you to turn some stuff. So you really just want to look straight ahead. So for ladies, if your partner is told that a new maybe look at his chest. If he is shorter than new slightly then maybe look at his forehead like this. So you just want to have the island straight ahead. Also another point for the chest. Feel like you're lifting your chest up as well as forward. So you're really lifted from your chest. So you don't want to end up like this. Lift your chest up like this, straight to the ceiling. I finally, just from the head, how, how we position our arms as humans. We just hang out arms course naturally as dancers, we have to keep them in a neutral position. So if you imagine your knuckle, wrist and elbow are on the same line, and then just leave them here like this for now, you'll feel weird in the beginning because you're used to just hang your arms. Why would you keep them here if you're not holding anything? But we kept her as dancers that were dancing. This will move in a very circular fashion. Once you get to optimize your core movement, shoulders, hips, synchronize. Your arms will freely flow in a nice circular. And he keeps them hanging down. It always looks like they're dangling and awkward. So you want to keep them here for now and just get comfortable. Hold an opposition. So for now, every time you do a basic, this is going to be your neutral position. And then don't think about the hands for now. Eventually when your body starts moving correctly, they will dictate how the arms start moving. You will find it just naturally goes up. You have to put them in a position for them to react correctly. Also for the ladies, it's important that you have your arms in front of you visible so the leaders can pick up your hands at any point. So instead of going to look for them, they're visible here in front of you like this. And then anytime when they need a hand to lead you into move, then they can just easily pick them up. Also, it helps your posture being you're you're being more upright if you have your arms up, because if you drop them, you might tilt forward. So have your arms up and that might help your posture. So there's two massive advantages. One, aesthetically, you look better, but that's not why we do it. The main reason why posturing frame is so important, because this is how we're communicating. So in terms of language, this is our voice. This is the way we send information and receive it. So it becomes our voice and our ears in one, if your voice is nice and clear in language and your ears are ready for listening, you're gonna have a good language skill, then dance. Our language skill is our frame and posture and, and the connection is all the words we use. We're gonna come to connection in a minute. So as much as yes, you want to look nice and pretty when you're dancing. Really. The big tech for us is you're now ready to speak and listen in that lead and follow.
3. Bachata PW Vol1. 3 Connection: Okay, Great, Moving on to our connection module. From here, we're going to talk about how we do a basic open hold and how we actually connect and hold our partners arms and frame in general. Just to give you a little insight, when people start dancing frame, that connection is usually the biggest reason why certain techniques go wrong. So as much of an expecting you to perfect it now, but keep referring to how is my connection, my partner, how is my frame looking? Because 90% of the time, if things go wrong, technically, it's something with your framing connection is usually involved in them. So they start with an open hole. So we're our normal frame push-up position. And I'm literally just inviting my partner to hold my hand as a leader, AS a follower. So as a follower, as the ladies, we have this hook that goes on top of the, of the leaders pin. So as you can see, CEF has his two middle fingers up. This is the pin. Like this, the two middle fingers because there are a lot stronger than like the pinky finger. So a nice strong pin. Then as a, as a followers, I have my, all my fingers close like this. And then I just form a little hook at the end and I placed that on top. It's very important when you first connect that you don't squeeze your partners fingers like this. And same for the leader. Don't put your phone down and squeeze the lady's hand. It's very it comes very natural because usually when we hold hands, we, we close our hands. But in dance, It's very important that you keep them open. So it's more flexible when you start dancing and turning and twisting, then you have to have this flexible connection like this. Now there are basically four ways that we can pin her companions. Basically how we hold hands and how we connect. Okay. So the guys you who can pin your middle fingers are really strong. They don't weigh bowl wobble. You've got kicked him rigid. Your little finger and your pointing finger stays out of the way. Your farm is actually never used in this who can pin position? And you never grip as such, right? So your pins always like there. So just get practice it sometimes the hands get all could literally prized and open and try and hold out. Afterwards, it will feel supernatural. The muscles will stretch in your hands and you'll get used to that. And you'll find, when you're speaking to your partner, leading your partner. This is like having a crystal clear voice. If you have too many things involved or your fingers are wobbly, It's like your mumbling your speech or you're too quiet or you're too loud. So try and think of it as this is your clear tonal voice. Okay, so keep a nice strong pin. It looks like Spiderman hands, if you are, if you're a Marvel fan like me and you know, spite of Andy does this. This is how, how, how we have our whole company. So try and keep that your norm. Now how about connecting to the hook? There are free for ways that we hook in. So I can use my pen to go down the little finger side. So I've gone from her little finger and I've joined the hook that way. As you're transitioning to many sequences, you're going to fall into one or all of these categories in one dance. The other way is I go down to fund side. So my pin moves down a fungi and I hold it like so. So we've got the little finger side, we've got her thumbs tight. And also then my fun can also be a PIN. So my phone becomes quite strong and then I hooking to her like so. And then my hand looks like it's holding her but I'm not it is resting on top, so it's a very bright it's not my four fingers are brushing the back of a hand like so. So my thumb pundit, so specific and easy hold like this. So it could be mistaken thinking that, well, I'm actually holding her. I'm not I'm actually just hooked in with my pen using my thumb. On that side. There's another hold also, which we use more indexing and four moves where afterwards after manage her body weight out physically hold her. This is this is only when when she bending over backwards or using a lean. So much later on you'll see as having more of a hand clasp. So I'm actually holding or so and there are times also in connection, you know, I'm I hold her wrist, but we'll talk about that a bit later. What happens when, when that connect? But for now for this level, there's took justice work on who can pin connections. Okay? So this is going to be our stock, is going to be our normal open hold. So once you're in this position to final feeling, we want you to kind of get it once you're in there. The actual, the actual feeling of the touch is more like a magnet. So if, for example, I pulled away instantly, Karina is moving with me. I'm not pulling her. Right. So what happens is the best way to explain this in. If you place your hand on top of your partner's back at hand. If I move away, instantly, chlorine is moving without her frame being pulled away. So this is what we call like a magnet magnetic connection. So it feels like she's magnetically connected to me. Using her frame staying, and posture. She's not allowing her arm to extend, shows her extend, leaning forward and then moving. If she had a bad connection and posture, she would look like this. But here's what you don't want or vice versa. If you pulled me, this is me responding late. But what happens is you place your hands on top of each other. You can play games and just practice which one leads who? For exercise, but you want to be able to move and for now let us walk around the room. You're going to go backwards, forwards, just walking. And get used to this frame where it feels like you're dancing quite stiff. But you often now you're getting used to that connection being like a touch. You can also do it. Palm to palm wood are actually a hold. Just literally palm to palm. As soon as I move away, she's still staying with me. The only thing that's making her mood is her ability to magnetically connect with me. So this is not follower to me, leader to follow. This is both. I connect to her the same way. So with the hook and pen, my pin inside the hook is magnetically connected with the same feeling as that touch. So those are the key points that you really want to kinda get when you're putting through all the basic steps, keeping in mind how you're hooking, appending, and what the feeling feels like. It shouldn't ever feel like a pull in and yank.
4. Bachata PW Vol1. 3b Connection Exercises and Tips: Connecting what we talked about in the earlier module with our posture and then connecting to each other. It's very connected. It's very important to each other, the posture and the connection between you as partners. So if you just wanna do with this one exercise, so go palm to palm and then stung quite a bit from each other and then you lean into each other. There is this natural point where you just stop. You wouldn't go like you wouldn't lose your frame. And that's exactly what we mean. We will be talking a lot about frame, especially when one moves get harder. So this is what we mean is that natural point where you stop your arms from moving and you move with your body. So you lean into each other and this is where you stop. And then you do the whole campaign. You come quite close to each other and then you lean out away from each other. Again, there is this natural point where you stop. You wouldn't ever go and completely lose all collection in your arm. So these, these two things add up to a sort of spring collection between you. So if you move in, out, in, out, then you start to have this springy connection between you. So it's not completely rigid, but it's also not loose. Is that in-between points that you have to find in you're dancing and you're leading, and you're following. So going from your basic position and just just in an open hold, remember your your posture has a slight tilt for which both of us, we have a slight to intuit each other. So we're doing our basic is always going to be just slightly and you connect it with the frame. And just, just, just get used to that feeling when practicing for this entire course. And just try and keep that you're normal.
5. Bachata PW Vol1. 4a&b Basic Footwork Demo & Explanation For Men: What are the fossil data set name down to pertain to the age of 80 of those sectors. Okay guys, Welcome to the basic section for the footwork. From here I'm going to run through how we step and which counts we step on now, but shot that works on a series of bars, a full bar with which call a full measure has an eighth count. So the first half bar is 1, 2, 3, 4. The second half of the bar is 5678. Now we step on the 123 and we tap on the floor. Then we step 5, 6, 7, and Kaplan the eight. So let me show you our most basic step. So our basic step, from engaging our frame and our posture, we step 1 to free Kaplan for change direction. 5, 6, 7, 8. Same foot could go off to your left. 1, 2, 3, tap on 45678. So in terms of how you're shifting your weight distribution, you literally is a bit like walking. So you're going to go in and step, step, step, but tap, then step, step, step and tap. So remember the whole time if I show you sideways, remember we talked about how we took our axis on an opposer, my feet. So if I'm walking normal, aren't always step. Heel, bowls, sound walk, I'll go heel ball, heel ball that we normally do as a dancer with the opposite were actually on the balls of our feet. And we're always stepping ball first and then squeezing down. So you imagine every time you step on the balls of your feet, you've got a very soft spongy ball underneath your crushing it. So you're going full crush says that it's kind of a spool squeeze down. So with speed, you don't notice that much. But the difference is if I did it with my heels, Trump trump clumps, clumps. It looks very heavy and clumpy. And you and you, and, and technically you won't move as quickly. So let's try again. Go forward on the balls of your feet. Remember the bend your knee up. Ready we step 123, tap 567 and tap and 123, clap. 5, 6, 7, tap a show from the front. So my hands remember we're just keeping a neutral for now. Hands are ready. Chest up, chin up, big smile. And 1234567812345678. And this model we are going to work on to basics. This is the most basic step which you'd be probably doing the majority of the time. But as you become more intuitive music, you hear that the music will give you different sounds that you can play with. One of the ones we want to introduce, use what we call it a late syncopation, which means it happens late in the sequence. So in this case, we're going to step on the end between 34 and the end on the 7 and 8. How that works in count it goes 12345678. So we're going to step an extra step on, on those eight as ends. So we, so our showed up on the footwork. We're going to step 1, 2, 3, and 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Step step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step, step 5, 6, 7 and 8 and 1, 2, 3, and 4, and by 6, 7 and 8. So at first take your time with that. Don't go rushing into doing it really quickly. Just get your feet working in a different type of ribbon. Remember, most of your life or you ever done is fish step binary 121212 when we walk because all we do 1, 2, 1, 2. So you're not used to walking in a different driven. So if I was going to walk this like arbitrator dancer, I'd be going walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, walk and tap, walk, walk, walk and tap. So it feel natural at first you have to train your whole body to move a different way. So be patient and practice.
6. Bachata PW Vol1. 4c Basic Footwork Explanation For Ladies: In this section, I will explain the basic step for the ladies or any other followers. So by chapter works on the bar of eight counts. So in the music, you always have eight counts. We step on 123 coupon for then step 5, 6, 7, tap on eight. Let me show you. So as a lady, we always start with our right leg. We step out on one, then step together on to step out on three. And then as I said, on four, we just tap our left leg to the floor so don't put any weight on it. Again. Make sure you're in your lovely posture with your weight on the balls of your feet. 567812 together, 34 is the top. Then we do the same thing to the other side. We go out with our left on five, close you're right in on six. Step out with your left on seven, and then we tap with our right leg on eight. So that was from the top. 5678 from the beginning, 56781234567, tap on eight weeks the top, you can see my hips morphing or generally in the basic, you will see my hips moving for now. Don't worry too much about it. Just make sure you have your legs bent so your hips are quite relaxed. What happens is when I step out, I transfer my weight over and my hip comes out. This is what happens. So whatever leg I'm on, that hip comes out like this. But don't worry too much about it. Just make sure your hips are nice and relaxed and nice and flexible coming from your nice being bent like this. What happens in the tab? Make sure your hip comes out because of the pressure that you put into the floor like this. So put pressure into the floor. That's what sends my hip out. Don't just lift up your hip. Okay. Don't try to see a lot of this going on in beginners. So don't do that. Just do your tap onto the floor and this is enough to lift up your hip. Great. If it's not right now, then don't worry, just make sure you're nice in the timing. And your weight is on the ball of the feet. Your knees are bent, and then the hips will come very naturally later. So keep it just nice and flexible. Let me show you from the front starting with your right leg still. 56781234567812345678. So this is your very basic in buckshot the that you will use this all the time. The second version we did was with a syncopation, which is very useful for the ladies, because if the leader is still leading your round on that last count, then you're not static, but then you can still move on the syncopation. What do I mean by syncopation? Syncopation is basically when you move on the nth counts. So instead of just stepping on the full bars, like 1, 2, 3, 4, we're now stepping on that and count. So we're going let me show you from the back so it can copy. We go 123 is exactly the same like before. And then we go and four. So we take two little steps on the end. Four. Let me do this again. We go 1234, then back 567 again and eight. So it's just two little steps for now. I did them on the NIF myself, but you can also use them to move, as I said. So on this and four, if I go side to side 1234, if the leader moves me, then I have this opportunity to move. Or four stylized version, you can go back front. Let me show you this. We go 123 that I can step back and four. So my left leg goes back, my right leg goes forward, and then I move left. 78. So this is a more stylized version. So you can exaggerate, exaggerate that a little bit. Let me show you from the site. We go 12345678. So back, front or underneath yourself or the basic with the top.
7. Bachata PW Vol1. 4d Basic Footwork Tips and Practice: Let's connect and do the steps in partner work. So leaders offer your pins and then ladies, we go on top with our lovely connection into our shoulders, into our body, and the weight on the balls of our feet. Nice posture. We go Ready? 1, 2, 3 and 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7. One thing I want to say straight away is what I see a lot in beginner classes is people are swaying like this with their upper body. This is not a batch of styling. Make sure you're in the, in your Neith and then you can move your hips. But the upper body right now is quite still. So you want to have a very clear lead. It's like driving a car. If you do too many things, the car react. So right now we're only going straight ahead. So you want to keep your frame nice and still. So upper body nice and still, if you have some movement in your hips, that's fine. But you nice. Five and 6781234567812345678. Let's turn around so you can see from a different angle, 56781234567812345678. So you can see my shoulders are nice and level. So let's do the syncopation move. 56781234567, back front. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 back front. Let's turn around to it from a different side. 5678123, back front, 567 back front, 123 back from 567 back front. This is not a move that you can lead as such, like you can't tell the lady if you are going to do a normal phase 600 basic with the tub or the syncopation. But it doesn't really matter even if she is doing a tap and you're doing a single patient, that's more of a styling choice than an actual move, the front move. So it works well with each other. Even if you don't do the same thing. It's something that the lady can look at you and she can choose to copy you and do the syncopation as well. What usually happens is if you're doing a basic step, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and then you choose to change. To change as a leader, your partner might miss the first one. But on the second one should realize your syncopated. Now usually what dictates the choice of syncopation steps isn't a music. You'll hear that syncopation sound and sometimes we both hear it and we just do automatically. It's just the music's already told us. But if I might do the first one, she'll catch up on a second one. And so that's kinda perfectly normal. So don't feel as if there's no magic secret language saying she must have syncopated straight away. So let's just try one more time. From the top, both together to basics and to basics with a syncopated, we step base 23456781234, ready? 67 and syncopated, 1234567812345678. So 11 tiny tip before we practice to music is when you're stepping, there's a temptation to step as big as how you normally would walk and you end up kinda reaching over. Big step, big step. So generally try and keep your steps quite small if you're not sure how small the kingdom keep them excessively small. 12345678. This is not abnormal at all. We kind of this is quite typical. Depth of movement. Seemingly step forward or back. It's still the same step ramp. So just remember, a good way to kind of think of it is step underneath your hip. So the hip is always in line with your ankle, gives you a guide to how far you feel like you're reaching with a step, you're already out of range. Ready for music.
8. Bachata PW Vol1. 4e Basic Footwork Tips and Practice To Music: Before we practice to music, lambdas show you physically you're my hands while I'm hearing in the music to show you where the base count is and where to sink a patient comes in. Music. Again, 12345678. Again, to treat stroke 5, 6, 7, 8 can find tuples by 6781234567812345. When I'm painting flowers a lot. You'll see one that says villa. There's tells us what we make.
9. Bachata PW Vol1 5 Closed Hold Demo, Tips and Practice To Music: Reaching out to us. Hello my lovely friends. Let me introduce you to what we call the close. Told that a couple of variations that are closer, which we'll talk about later in the course. For now, we're going to give you the most basic version, which is really fundamental to so many sequences, okay, with a close hold as opposed to the open hold where we literally far apart the closed hole is that we're much closer. Now if you have quite comfortable your partner, we could be disclosed. But for now let's keep a little bit of a gap, say like silica hand with a part for now. Okay? Now, a few things are happening. First of all, your frame connection is the same and it always will be throughout so many sequences. So just keep them in mind. So here, just like our frame, we're still leaning together. But because Karina's frames engage, She's not allow me to collapse all over her and vice versa. She leans into me. I'm holding her off. Now, working with my left-hand first, I'm using my standard who can pin All my thumb to look into a hat. And my right hand is on the center of her back, usually where the Brahmins. Okay. So it's not too low? Not too high. Just where the Brahmins working around the body. My left arm is not dangling down because the lady needs to connect with me with this arm, some arms lifted slightly up. Now if she's really short, then I would lower my hand to keep it comfortable for her. But chlorine has got a lovely height and I'm going to be quite naturally, he must step. But does it connection here, similar to that magnet connection we had? She's not weighing down, I'm not pushing it up. We're just connected like magnets. Seconds really light. So remember right hand on the center of her back. And you're connected from the elbows area with your left hand. You're pending, which are found in our head. So now the whole time we're here, what's happening is if I give Karina's squeeze, her right arm doesn't collapse. If you relax, it doesn't do this. So I'm actually gently giving her squeeze, but she's holding me off. So then we connect. Just like that technique which screen explained earlier. We've pushed together. Then we just stay there. For the ladies. Make sure you're not too heavy. They're not hanging onto him. So have your weight like just sort of in that so weight onto his hands and his shoulder. But you're not hanging off him, otherwise, the guy has to work really hard all night trying to keep the ladies up. So just, just again, that magnetic connection you have like this. You just go on top with your hand and your arm. And then you hold your own frame like this. If you imagine, if I moved away, she would still be in that position. And I'll be in a position. So then we come together and we connect. So you have to have that kinda, you know, it's not case of as soon as I let go, F1 drops. So this is our closed hold. Now, with this close hold, we are going to do a combination of move that we call noughts and crosses, which helps you a lot sort of figuring out the structure of our chapter. Maybe you have done other Latin social dance before, like salsa with structures very clear with dancing on one line in buckshot, that it's very free. We just move around each other. The lady could go any direction at any time. The leader can lead you in any direction at any time. So it's very free and not as structured as other dance styles. It's very, very social like that. So we are going to start with a site-based sick like we just learned it. So connecting like this, we go 12345678 with this structure that we step on 123 and then tuple 4, 5, 6, 7, tap on eight. We can move in other directions. You're quite free with that sort of footwork. In this case, we are going to move backwards for me and false for the leader. And then forward for me, backwards for the leader. So as for the ladies, take three steps back, 123 and the top, and then three step forward, 123 and the tap. And for the leader, it's the same steps for the guys that you would go sideways speed now you're just going forward. So you step, step, step, step and tap 5, 6, 7, tap. The key thing is, at the moment, try and stick to the noughts and crosses. By that we mean on the cross you go left and right. On the top part of the cross, you go forward and back on the circle. You're just going to turn on the spot circling, still holding the count of 123, tap on 45678. As you become, as he progressed more, we'll show you how to mix and match your knots and crosses. So like you've put it into little blender for now, be strict with yourself and keep a very strict formula, left, right, forward, back, turn on the spot. Should we try that? So left and right, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 forward 123, tap 5, 6, 7, tap. When you're turning, you don't have to complete a full circle, okay? You can do to song is slow, but you can even do a quarter or a 3.5 quarter turn. It's not, it's not, it's not important to complete a full circle, but let's start turning on our way to our right. So just stepping on the spot, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. In this case we just did a 180. Okay. Let's go from the top. Left and right forward, back. 10123. Top 5, 6, 7 forward, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 1. 23, tap 567 and tap just one thing, Knots and Crosses. We found it to be a very powerful tool, especially for beginners. Because even as an advanced answer, I would use my noughts and crosses as my bread and butter go to move, to transition between sequences and move around the floor without being too static. So it's a great tool to practice really earlier on, you're going to be using it for the entirety of your time as dancing. It might not look like that towards the end because you'd be mixing and matching it. But it's such a fundamental way of moving around the room. And you can, you can use it for in so many ways. So a beginning stick to the structure. It's also very good way to test your leading and following skills and your frame. So if the leader decides to do two sides and then go into forward and back, maybe do that four times and then go into circle. As followers really shouldn't predict what's coming, even though we give you this little tiny routine right now, going wants to decide once forward and back ones around. Mix, mix it up when you practice at home, just by yourself. And the leader decides how many of each you going to do. And the follower just has to keep the frame another soon as I feel we're turning or we're going side, we're going backwards. I can feel, feel this and pick up on that signal. So you can really test your basic leading and following skills with this technique. So by mixing up your notes and crosses, you could, for example, if you practice this quite a lot to practice this form refers, but for now, you could easily do half to the left. And then half a turn. Half board and half the right, half tan, half the right, half forward, hop back, half-time. Then half to the right. You see how we mean by mixing and matching it. So you don't do a full cross, you don't do a full circle. You can play with it, which it will be more how you'll be doing it as you become more comfortable. But please do stick to the left, right forward, back first until you're super confident with your frame. And 11 other tip I wanna give you before we go the whole tunnel connecting with Karina. And every time I move, she's not allowing her frame to collapse and open. So when we hold our frames, She's actually pushing me away here. So you can see I'm trying to squeeze her. If you take your left hand and your right hand together and squeeze, you shouldn't be able to collapse her frame. So what happens with that? You get a lovely motion in your step. So you start having Little Rock to the side. Rock to the side. So I'll show you from this side, you see her body goes rocks and rocks compared to if you don't use that, you're going to get this really awkward looking swinging motion, which is not bad shutter movement at all. You want to get more of this movement of Side, Side, Side and tap, and side, side, side and tap. So try and practice that as well while you're doing your knots and crosses. Hey, welcome back. We are going to go for some tips and practice for our noughts and crosses. So one of the things I want to mention when you're in a close told is a lot of times we see when people stand normally, if I'm standing and talking to Karina, I would stand if you square on a perfectly normal but a dancer, you have to be kind of my right foot is slightly inside her right foot. I'm not old way through her legs obviously. But your foot is placed just so that your right TO can knock on her toe so you're quite close. So you're kinda this ofs off-center. So you're not square onto her. You just off-center. See your clothes hold is in its position. If I was from this side, you see I'm slightly off center. It also helps you because the most crashed. The question I get the most from beginners is, where do I look? Because at the beginning it's very awkward and you don't want to like staring into each other's eyes when you don't even know each other. So that also solves that because you sort of look past each other. But anyway, when you, later on when you do more moves, that won't be an issue anymore. It's only something you think about when you only just started learning and you only have a few moves in your vocabulary. But standing not square onto each other. Having that slight this is a disposition you want to be when you're doing your closed hold. Okay. So going from our noughts and crosses on the side, we step basic 2345678 and forward 23456, ready to turn and turn 234567, this side, 12345678123456, 10 and 123456781 thing I see when the sequences are getting longer, that the leaders hands sometimes slides down the followers back. Just make sure you keep holding that frame. Don't move your hand. It should always be in between the shoulder blades up here because this is where you have the most control. Don't start slowly, start to slide down and just relax your frame and get lower and lower with their hands. The lady won't like it and you don't have control and the good frame for leaving. So let's keep our posture nice and up. Let's practice with music. You can see that this receptor is exerted, is that it's true that most civilized. And so we associate this formula to assume that I see later on the show template for other languages. That is to be seen as a stretch. Let's ask about the multiple businesses. I've read a lot.
10. Bachata PW Vol1 6a&b Box Step Demo & Explanation For Men: Back over to the shoulder. It's assume that it is just the size of this chapter. Yes. Hello? Yes. Hello, my lovely friends. Let me lead you through the mail section for the box step in, in different parts of the world. They could also call it the quadrotor, which just means square in Spanish. It's just how we step is in a square format. So we're just doing our basic step in a square. There's many ways you can stylize this. So let's go through a couple of versions, okay, starting with a basic close Holt will do a basic first we stepped basic to free, tap 56, 78 from here. To start a box step, I'm going to go 1, 2 on the spot forward on free. Tap on fourth, step out to my right on five, bring together on six, step back, 7.8. Let me show you that from this side. So from here, I step out one together, forward, tap, right together, back, tap again as a slowly 1234567 tap. So you'll notice I'm not changing the 1, 2, 3, tap, 5, 6, 7, tap. Just doing it in a box form. Hence why I called Square different shapes. Okay, So this is the version in the closer. Let's try one more time. So my lead as far as my frame is concerned, my brain is just the same as it is in a normal clothes sold. So as I lead my partner, fill my shift to my left to gather forward, tap, right, back, tap. What you do want to avoid, even if you want to show them which direction to go with your upper body, but your shoulders are still square. So don't start doing this like the side and then full wave and then just always keep your shoulders on one level and just more lead with your energy going to the side. And it's just going to decide and that she's going forward to the side. So it doesn't become this other dance that we're not doing in here. The demo, we also showed you a variation which we differ in the open hold. Okay, so the transition I, I put basic end because it just makes it feel nicer to kinda go from basic. As you get more experience, you'll be able to transition straight from a closed to an open into the open variation. But for now let's add a basic so life can be easy. So we've done a basic one to free taxi. I'm stealing clothes now and start walking away to go into an open hole. And my connection will go from the center of her back up to the shoulder, elbow down to the hand was to transition 5678. Let's do that again. We're in a close hold. This is your transition from close to open hold. You go 123, pull away 5678. And for now, let's go with our fund being our pin. So it hooked opinion like so. Okay. It just makes it a bit more comfortable to lead the box step from this pin position. So all I'm doing now is the variation that we're gonna do is I'm going to open to my left on one and step two, my left 1, 2. And then I'm going to go forward. Free, change hands, tap on for now. I'm left with her, right. Then I'll turn to my right. Five together, back together. Slow motion one more time. Discovering a close hold. We go. Basic. 23, pull away. 5678123, changed hands. Tap 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let me show you from this side. So from the basic position, 1, 2, 3, tap, pull away. 6781234, 5678. You can see with CEF changing his body positioning to face where he's going, adds a twist in your legs. So make sure you have your knees bent to be able to support that. If you don't have any spent, there won't be a twist. So have your knees bent. And then once you change your body positioning, your legs are going into a twist like this. So we call it the box that twist and the same is happening to your arm. You twist it down and then back up. And that is the elite. So the lady would do the twist with you. One thing you want to avoid, It's the arm turning is more stylization. So the arm just comes down. She knows my elbow does this. So it's not it's not a case of me pushing with my arm. So what you want to avoid is just pushing with the arm like this and your body not moving. Okay. So I'm actually just turning. So you get this kind of action to my left. That, okay, So if you turn to the side bar to K and that can I just make it a bit smoother and then you're not so arm heavy. So I think it's not so pushy with the arms. The arms are always kind of secondary to how your core is moving. So my core moves and my arm follows. And that gives you a very smoothly and really easy for ladies to pick up for you. Let's try one more time. From the box step. Let's go from this side. Shuffles, ready? Basic, 123, tap, pull away, 6, 7, 8, CMA, eight. There is like a little signal to warn or something amazing is about to happen. 12 together change hands, 5678.
11. Bachata PW Vol1 6c Box Step Explanation For Ladies: Welcome My lovely followers. In this section, I will explain the two versions of the books that for the followers, right? So in the box that we're still taking three steps and then doing a tap. But this time we're just moving in different directions. So instead, instead of taking the three step to the side and tap or forward and back, we go nows side. And then we mix, mixing it up to create this box shape. Right? So let's go from a basic. We start in a close holds, our standard close hold that we just learned Have a good frame like this. And we go basic 67812345678. Then from here we go into the box step. So as a lady, we step to the side to get make sure you transfer your weight. And then again, if our right leg, we go back and then we tap with our left and then we continue to the left. Step to the left, transfer your weight on the nephew, then step with the left to the front and top. Let me show you from this side will be easier to follow. So we start with our right leg to the side. Transfer your weight to the left, then the back and top. Then we go to the left, transfer your weight to the right. Step forward with the left and top. So just make sure you really transfer your weight from foot to foot when you actually take the steps. And then the top is on four and on the eight, well, you don't transfer the weight. Okay. Let's once more from the side. But faster. 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, and 5 together. And again 1234567. So this is the standard version of the box step for this to be able to work on a dance floor, you have to be very receptive to where the guy's going. So just again, have a really good frame and your arms engaged like this. So as I said, this is the standard version. Then we showed you a different version which includes a twist. So we are doing a basic in-between to go into an open hold. So we are ready to do the twist. So from the basics and we just did our box step. We go basic 1345678. The leader will be pulling away, just keep connection 78 and he will pick up your hook at the end. So don't leave his arm as soon as it pulls away. Don't lift the arm away. Make sure you keep nice connection slide. And then at the end he will grab your hook like this. So then we're in open hold. We let go of our right hand. And you will feel the signal, which is a twist. So we're twisting our body to the side, to our right leg. And that also created twist and our legs. So if we come back to standard and you feel the twist twist, and then you step together straight to the back for a tap again. Then we trans for two the other hand and let go of our left-hand. And we go twist to the left to gather straight to the front and top. Let me show you from the back. So we're here. In the closest. We go one basic, 1234, pull away 6, 7, 8, ready to go? One, twist. Come together, step back and tap. Twist to the side. Come together, step forward and tap a bit faster. Just the box. Step. 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. As you can see, it's very important that you always have your arms in front of you, even when you have a free arm, because the leader might want to pick up your arm. So if we go from the, just a box that I have my arm here nicely, I style it out 123, but it's here straight so you can pick it up at anytime. And then we do it to the other side, 5678. And automatically, my hand lands in the leaders hand. So keep your arms nice and up. I styled it out like this. So I like as if I have a big skirt on and I just brushed a skirt out like this. With your wrist out and then you bring it in softly. So let me show you again. I style my arm out and are bringing in change hand again about style in. And like this. Let's do it from the other side. Sick just the box step 6781234567812 for the ladies, is we always teach the guys to be very sensitive with leading. A lot of times I never reach and grab the hand. I offer. And I would like the lady to take their hand. So this is kinda like a very gentle approach. We teach the guys to kind of ask for the hand as opposed to take it. So here you notice a lot of the times from the basic our step 1 to 1 of pull away, I'm sliding down to pick up her hands, so she leaves it there for me to collect it. When I let go of her right arm, 12, I'm putting a hand in front of her and she's going to come and collect it. So then the guy doesn't feel as if he has to reach and grab the old time. So if you see the hand being offered to take it and help the guys lead the crystal-clear. So this is good for in a box step, step 1, the guy offers, see how Karina collects. Poor. It's about five. I offer, she picks up. So that way you give the guy a chance to kind of ask for their hand and gives you also time. The bonuses for you, the ladies, you get time to start and play with all the beautiful artistic movements you can do with your arms. So basically what it means is that you give consent, that he can take your hands. So he comes 80 percent when you see his hand, then put your hand on top, and then you can have a beautiful dance.
12. Bachata PW Vol1 6d Box Step Tips and Practice To Music: Tips and practice. So let's put all this stuff together. So one thing I want to kind of focus on at the moment is the transition between the closed and the open hole. So it used a box step for you to practice. The box stepped in to variations but the same time, do practice how to transition between the clothes in the open hole. You'd be using it in many ways and you don't always have to do the same variation to the few variation was show you just a couple now. So you know, I'm in the closed position already. So when I step away, 123 basic 5678, that takes me into an open hole. So let's just do that for now. But basic 2345678, if I wanted to go back into the closed, there's a nice little tip. I would butterfly the lady's arms. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let me show you from this side. So this is just to practice going from closed to open hold, which we are doing in-between the box step variations. Okay, one more time from the closed, we step out. Basic 234. So you start to Five Guys, you pull away. There's a tendency to see some guys that kinda stand their ground and they push the lady away. But I find that quite rough leading better, I move away. So when I lead out on 55678, so now when you open holes, so let's do a basic here, 12345678. To go back into it, I'll raise the arms and our butterfly, the lady's arms, 1, 2, 3, 4. So it's almost the reverse, right? It's a nice transition to try and make that smooth. What you want to avoid it literally going from one to another quite abruptly, 12 34567, worker smash and grab. It doesn't feel as natural ladies with a shock factor. And you're not communicating very pleased that you're always kind of like surprising and we're really as opposed to constantly communicating. Okay. Let me explain to you what the butterfly is. So you're holding her campaign at the moment. I'm hooking his thumb like this. So this position now, Jeff is moving his arm up. So we're now his pinky fingers, the ice off his hand is touching my wrist like this and my palms are facing in. Now he's moving his arms in. Let's face a little bit this side. So you're circling it down. And then out. You notice ladies here, She elongates the arms, makes it easier for me like this, and then we're moving in. Let's do that again. So you really need that magnetic connection that we talked about earlier. So you can move around the hands nicely without any grabbing. So we're here and in, out, and then you slide. So at the end we're sliding along the arm and then coming into this close hold once more. So from here we go. Slides. To end up here. Let's start with a basic step from the open, all 56781234, like magic. Let's practice all this with the two books that variations. Basic 567123, tack box that enclosed go and 1, 2, forward tap and psi that and tap basic to pull away 56 open, fold and twist together forward together, side together, back together. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. So just a little bit faster with count 567 base 1234567 books that one together, forward, tap, side together, back, cap, basic to free, pull away by 6, 7, twist that 135678. But the flies 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and the other side. So we're in box, close, ready, and basic 23, top five, stick, start your box. Step, step together and tap, step together and tap to free. Pull away. 56712345678, basic. And 5678. Good music. Good to see. The one book. But it can be done in January. So the General Assembly and he said there's a long dead center, says CV and make their bed as baggies.
13. Bachata PW Vol1 7a&b Two Step Demo & Explanation For Men: Okay. It puts us that Comcast. Or too nice. Hi, welcome back. We're going to run through the two-step variations, and I'll show you how you lead them for your partner. Now, January delete just comes from my frame. My frame doesn't do much apart from maintain posture, connection. Then the share variety and tempo, the step. And when I changed direction is all lead from the core. So really just keep that still for now. And then you learn to add some movement and flavor a bit later on. But for now let's focus on the steps. So for the guys, I'm gonna show you one to step in half count and then one with in full count, and then one with a, with a check-in slide. So nice and slowly. Well, I'm going to defer now is I'm going to step 1. Tap on free. Five, tap 17, some shifting weight on one, tapping on free, stepping out five, tap on seven. Let me show you this side. So it just goes 1234567812345678. And this law to step is really nice way for you to start a song. So a lot of data songs start very slowly. Some of them, even the peat, the actual buckshot, the beat kicks in later. So this is a nice way to connect with your partner and start the song. Get a feel for each other. And then once the beat kicks in, you can do your basic step. So do listen to the songs. You, you shouldn't notice in a demo that, that particular song had, had emphasis on the beat free. So when we stepped one of the big B on free, we step a big B on seven. So I used as my two-step that debt. Then the song changed after four bars and went into a more evenly spread tone of beat. So we went 12345678. So you use that as a way of kind of playing with the music. And also it's a nice soft introduction to your dance, like the song soft introduces itself. So let me show you the quick step from the back. So this is going to step 12, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 quickly. 12345678. So don't worry about what you're gonna do with the arms for now, remember to stay in close hold it. And then eventually you will find when this becomes quite unnatural movement in your body, your arms will just react to your new organic way of moving. Okay? Third variation. We kinda step out to the side. We stop ourselves, can't give ourselves a self-check. I come back in and step out into a shade that count again. So it goes 1234, again slowly. 1234 and the other side, Check 6, 7, 8. I'll show you from the backside. So it just goes one so it looks like a tap. I'm actually shifting my weight over. So it's got a quiet, clear, solid check, a comeback in to step out on free. Kaplan for reciprocal check 678. So one little tip for the guys, don't overlaid with the arms. There's a temptation for guys to go to that. Depth. Too much, too much. You're over leading. The core is already screaming volumes to Karina. I'm only saying enough, just my shear lead. So the key things to kind of practice is when you're doing this dance, do keep switching between half time, two-step to full-time two-step and one with a check. And then you'll you'll see how much the lady picks up quite quickly. So the practice trying to transition between the movements and there's never a time I ever speak to my partner during a dance and say, guess what's coming next is going to be the check. I don't I lead. My question is she responds instantaneously because out our frame and connection is quite synchronized. So there's trouble more time. 56, save and half-time. 12, tap on 3, 5, 6 type onset and one more type 1, 3, 5, 7, quicker, four beats. 12345678 with the check, check and tap, Check and tap with count 12345678.
14. Bachata PW Vol1 7c Two Step Explanation For Ladies: So this is the section for the followers explaining the two-step to two-step is a very popular move which you can do at the beginning of the song. Loads of batch of songs start very quiet and it takes a minute to, for the P2 kick in. So you don't want to start with the basics that straight away you want to get used to your partner. And the two-step is a very good step to do there, to get used to your partner and for the beginning of the song. So we did two versions. We are going to do a slow two steps. And then the faster two-step slows to step is we step out on 12 and then you tap on three for bringing your foot closer. So it's just that out as always with our right leg. We step out one to tapping on 34, and then we step back on 5678. We are doing this in close hold like this. So it's slow move, so it's quite central. So you can be quite close. 567812345678, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 because it does not slow move. I'm also sort of really emphasizing my body movement. So if I show you from the back, as always with batch data, you sink into your hips. So the leg that has got the weight on it, that hip comes out. So I lift up my right leg so my left tip is coming out because right now my weight is my left leg. I leave my hips behind when I step out and leave my hips behind. And then I bring it over to the right. So now I'm transferring my weight to the right so my right tip is coming out. And then when I tap lift my left hip up again. So again, we go left hip is coming out, transferred to the right and left again, then the other side, right hip is coming out, transferred to the left and then right again. Move Counts 5678123456781, 2345678. So if this slow step is a very useful step for you ladies to get used to your buckshot. The hip movements. We are going into more details later on with you by six step 4, because this is a slow step, you can really start to explore with that buckshot, the hip movement. So the faster version is we are stepping on each beat. Let me show you. We go 12345678. So we're stepping on each odd number and tapping on each even number. Again, we go 123 step, tap on 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let me show you from the back, 567812345678. This is a good step if the song already starts quite fast, but you just want to have this little step to get into your basic step. Right? Then we did a version with a tap and then step. So let me show you this with this version. You, instead of stepping immediately, you first tap, so you go tap, then you close it back together. Then you step, and then you do your top as always on four. So you go tap together, step and tap. Same thing to the other side. Tap together step. And this step is not just with your leg, you're actually transferring your weight because as ladies, we don't actually know the step is coming. So what do you do? You want to go into your basic step so the leader will stop you and you go back together. So you go out in, then you take the step and you tap. Let's do it in popular hold. We go 12345678. Again, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let me show you from the back. We go 1234567812345678. So you should really feel with your frame, you should feel that stop in your partner sleet. So, so just to test your partner and your own frame as well, just maybe just try to actually do the by 67 and then you should feel that stop. That brings you back together. And then you take a step, tap, same thing to the other side. Step, and tap.
15. Bachata PW Vol1 7d Two Step Tips and Practice: All right, let's practice the two steps. We start with the slow one than the first one into the top. 56781234568. Again, slow, 123456. Now first 12345678123456, magic. We go 1234567812345678. Let's do from the side, 567812345678123456. Now fast, we go 12345678123456. Now check. We go 12345678123456781. Great tip. I can give you a two-step is a lovely move to if you're losing timing or UV, or a sequence or a 10 patent that you're gonna do later has broken down. It's great to go back into a two-step variation, either one of these ones, to go back into it to kind of recover your position. Sometimes you might lose timing, sometimes the 10 patent mana work, but it's a great way to go back into your dancing. So almost have like a nice reset move. It happens all the time, but also is called great advantages as the intro can be nice and soft. You don't always have to start the song with a super fast basically to start it with some variation, to step. That lovely introduction to yourself, for yourself to your partner, just like a strong introduces itself to you, you represent the song and introduce yourself to your partner and vice versa. Let me show you how this looks in practice. So let's say you've done some time, Patton, and you're now on the wrong leg, which means left for the ladies and right for the, for the, for the leader on one. So we've gone on the wrong timing now, 1234. So you realize you're on the wrong timing because you've gone the wrong way on one. So we got wrong timing. 1, 2, 3, 4. Now you can use the check roof that we built, the little tab to get back into the right timing. So you have to do two checks for it to work. So we just go one though. Sorry, when I want 5678, we go 56781234. We're on the right timing again. So let's just do that once more to make it really clear. So we're on the wrong timing. We go 1234. You realize on the wrong timing it just go 567812 on the right timing.
16. Bachata Pw Vol1 8Ab Inside Turn Demo & Explanation For Men: So we're going to try to come up with something. So in this section, we're going to cover the lead aspect for how we lead the left and right turns on inside term basis. So what this means is that technically still just left turn right stands to reason why they're called inside because I'm making my partner turn inside us from this side. And she goes from this way. She's turned inside out turn, hence the inside turn variation. But technically they're still left turn, right turn, okay? So you leave it for the guy. First of all, as always, you have to tell the lady something's coming. So the preparation is really important. Never want to shock them into a move. Okay? So as I do a basic, I'm going to do a basic to free tap 5678. And there's my warning. There's my warning. Something amazing is about to happen. So first of all, first of all, I raise my arm. Then what I'll do my arm, I'm now using my pins in a slightly different way. They're still strong pins. I'm still using Spiderman hands. My pins are still strong. They're not Weebly wobbly, right? But the key thing here is as I raised a hand, my arms start to face down with for my pin acts like a needle on the record. So I'm aiming for is to go around and ladies halo. So if I'm too far away, I'm nowhere near her halo. So it's a general guide. If you pull your arm away, if you can just go past her head, you're in the right range, so you have to pay them, keep things nice and polished. Okay. So once we raised a hand up, when she starts turning on one, I'm keeping the hand down. So my knuckles and my wrist and my elbow ohms on the same plane and I'm turning it a 12 and then a lower hand has stopped a turn. Tough on for I showed that again, 5678, traveling with my lady because otherwise, if I stay here, she's going to drift off into the horizon and I'm going to be lost. So as I've traveled with her, I'm gonna go 12 our slope, a loader hand, and that tells us that, that, that particular left turn is finished. So from, from and then if I was going to go to an insight turned to her left eye will do 5678. And I stop apparent from this side 1 to raise my hand upon for my right-hand still stays low for now, and I just let go of it. There are obviously sequences where we can do two hands, but for now we're going to keep it super simple. So you nail the foot work and you now one variation than adding more on, it's super simple. So she's here, she's ready. The ladies had a nice strong frame. So all you have to do is step with her 56 lower eight. Let's practice that again, I show you from this side for the steps. The steps are the guys just basics. 1, 2, 3, raised a hand, 567, lower 1234, raise their hand. 67812345678. So you can see your steps are just basic step. The key thing is to make the hands prepared at the right time. Okay? But our job is not finished. We still have to do our inside tens. Okay, So from a guy's perspective for his insight turn, I'm turning inside my partners range. That gives me an insight turn either to my left or right. Okay, let me show you the full product first for the guys. So let's just do half a basic 123 tap on 4. Don't forget the taps. And then I turned to my left, spotting my partner, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let's do half a base is too basic to go to the other side. 123, tap 14, 5, 6, 7, turn to the left and 12345678. So nice and slowly one more time. So we do a basic 123 and turn 5678, basic 23456, 10 to your left, and 12345678. It just gets a little bit tricky because when you're with your lovely partner, you have to still connect with your partner. If you're doing this type of sequence and still keep yourself turning, remember when you're turning, your partner will be just going left and right on the same line. So don't try and veer off. If you pull away too far, you might drag a review or you might crash into it. So try and stop parallel or not on track when you're turning. So just do a basic from here, 1, 2, 3, 4. And then I raise my hand and I'm going to palm up, I'm still hooked. I'm still pinned into the hook. And then I turn to send to my right 5, 6, 7, 8, then basic to free for a raise my hand. 678. Now there's a slight difference here because if I was going to pin downwards, she might think there's a term coming for her, but by me put in my palm this way, it tells that this is a different type of time. So maybe it's not hurt tiny. So this is kinda like a very subtle way of leading your own time. So might turn becomes now I'm still palm up 1, 2, 3, and drop the hand. Try it one more time. I'm shading with the side. So we've gone half a basic one to free palm up. By your holding a nice keto friendly pizza. You turn to your right, 5, 6, 7, 8, Basic 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, palm up turn, and 1234567. January 8. Your left and right turns are used in so many complex combinations. So getting the fundamentals of them right, We're really hold you in good stead for, so, for so many nice combinations in future.
17. Bachata PW Vol1 8Ac Inside Turn Explanation For Ladies: Welcome back my lovely followers. I will show you now how you can do an inside term. So let me show you just the steps first. So from our basic 12345678, this is our basic. Now to do an inside term, we are turning over our left and our right shoulder first. So we step out one, then we do step together and start turning around. Then when you step out, you should be facing the front again. And then tap on four. Let me show you that again. So we step out, then spin around on to step out on three and tap on for faster. We go 1234. And then you can do the same thing to the other side, turning over our left shoulder this time. So when we go to the left, we turn over our left shoulder. So we go five, turnaround on six, about on seven, tap on eight again. So from four we go 5678. So if the inside, as I just said, if we step out on the right, we turn over our right shoulder. If we step out on the left, we turn over our left child. Again. Let's do both sides. 56781234, other side, 5678. Very important as we are starting to turn, make sure you're nice and grounded. As soon as girls start to turn, they lift up their shoulder and straighten the leg because they want to be nice and 10th, but the opposite should happen. You should be nice and grounded. You need spent, so you have a good connection to the floor. And also relax your shoulders so you can move your head. Okay, so you can watch where you're going. So now you can already start to spot. Spotting is when you look at 1 and when you turning, your head goes quick and your body's going continuous. So continuous body quick it like this. If you need more explanation for that, then please go to my lady styling courses. So let's do both terms again. We go 12345678. Well, if your partner the signal for a term is that he will raise his arm. So if we do half a basic 123 or four, he would raise his arm and then you have a nice connection like this and a nice hook. And then he will feel that he's pushing this way. And that makes me turn 678. Okay, once more that side we go 123 rays and four, have your nice connection. We go 5678 for use just important that you have a nice frame. Don't push up your arm, keep it nicely in front of you. Almost sort of 90 degrees is the goal. So everywhere, of course, a 90 degrees angle between my body and my arm here should be 90 degrees and up should be 90 degrees as well. So they'll open up your arm and don't push up. Again. 567812345678, plie to the other side. We closely folder another half, a basic 7, 8 on eight, the arms up again, and this time we go over to our right shoulder, 12345678. So the leader is helping you, but you should really be able to do this turns by yourself without a lot of help and a lot of leading. As soon as you see the arms go up, you should start to ending.
18. Bachata PW Vol1 8Ad Inside Turn Tips and Practice To Music: Let's practice those inside turns. We do two for the ladies, both sides, and then two for the leaders, right? So we have our open hold. We start with half a basic 1234, ladies inside turn, 5678, another basic 123456 prepare or 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. A couple of things for the ladies. Make sure you keep your spare arm up. So as we let go of our hand, make sure it's nice in front of your hips like this palm facing the floor, like so. And then when we turn, we can keep our posture and our frame. 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, like this. So don't just drop it to your size. Make sure it's nice and in front of you quite close. You don't want it too far out because you might hit your partner. Another thing is obviously it's called inside turn because the lead is towards you first. This is now for the leaders. So it goes towards you first. And then just to make that very clear, because the next module is going to be outside turn, and I don't want you to confuse it. So with the inside turn is that we're going towards you first and then out, right? Let's do it again. 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, prepare 56781234567, prepare 12345678, and that they've explained to you, ladies, the spotting. So in my insight turns, I usually me personally, I spot where I'm going. So as soon as CEF prepares me, I'm already looking that way because I know what's coming is a turn. So I'm looking where I'm going, boom. And then as soon as I stop tightening, I'm back on my partner. Some people might, might find easier to spot your partner. Let me show you this. So here I look at my partner. So just test both versions. See which one you prefer, which one you like better, which one keeps you more balanced and moving down the line, I prefer spotting where I'm going because that automatically pulls me in this direction because you do want to still travel down your line. Speaking off the line, it's very important that you don't start to turn off somewhere into another direction. Really tried to keep going in one direction. So really practice it by yourself first. Same for the leader. Practice this inside terms for yourself first, and then try with your partner. All right, let's do it again with our partner. 5, 6, 7, 8, 1 3356781234567312345678. From the guards perspective, usually, if I have things to work on, I work on the feet first gain sure the steps are correct. So once you get your steps correct, The key thing, always keep the steps small when you're traveling. On your terms, whichever direction you're going. Always small steps and don't forget to tap on the four and the eight. Very easy to forget. Especially when you're a beginner, you're not used to that extra tap 1 and 4 and 8. Just in general movement, you're not so make sure, especially you're turning, your mind is going a lot of places you're trying to lead and so many things going on. So just keep a tab on a foreign aid and that will slow you down. The other thing where the guards have a stumbling block is they, how you hook comparing is really critical in here. When I prepare myself for a turn, 1234, I'm using her cup and I'm pivoting inside the cup. I'm not holding their finger and trying to twist inside myself. Literally, if you imagine this little exercise for you, push inside the ladies cut and just turn around. You can see I'm keeping connection. I'm not gripping or anything. So I'm technically still doing this when I'm turning. So to practice that one more time, let's try the other hand, right hand. So let's turn to our left. Just have a little pivot. And you have a weight. Just this mortar generally get a feel for you of how you're using the ladies cup. So for the ladies, make sure your hands don't open up. Keep the cup nice and clean and tight. Almost there you're going to hold water. So nothing seeps through your fingers. You don't want to lose your men quite quickly. For the guys, let's try. 123, push up in the cup. We turned to our right, 5, 6, 7, then lowered a hat. The other way. 1, 2, 3, 4, raised their hands saying where the other hand, pushing into the ladies cup, let go of the ladies. Lovely right-hand turn to your left. 1, 2, 3, 4. One thing that's very important, that might be a bit confusing at the beginning is that the lady is not leading the men's turn. You can just liters, you can just decide to do that by yourself to style out your basic. But us ladies, we don't leave. It's still the man is still either very old school. The man always leads and the lady follows. Unless you decide to really learn the other role. That's perfectly fine. We have lots of ladies leading guys following, but you really have to make a conscious effort to learn the other role. But for now, ladies, when the mental or the leaders turn, we don't leave. We just follow us in. We just keep our hands nice and connect that with this moves this magnetic connection, and just follow where his hand is going and he's doing his turn. We make sure we continue with our basic steps so we don't fall out of timing. So let's try both. The lady Stan and demands turn to get them to eat. 5678123456781234567, prepare 12345678123456781234567. Prepare 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let's do some music on medicine. Should sleep.
19. Bachata PW Vol1 8Bb Outside Turn Demo & Explanation For Men: Okay, thank you. The land, land is conic section. I'm going to show the leaders how to lead an outside turn for the lady and also how to do an outside time for yourself. Now, outside of town is still a left turn, right? And it's just, you're turning now away from your partner. You remember in the inside tan, we turn inside our partner. Now we're going to turn away from them. Okay. So still traveling left and right, but just now turning over your left and right shoulders. Let me explain. So from here, we did the 1234 and now, if I was to turn inside our turn to my right and go between us by now going to look away from her and turn to my left, going right, 5, 6, 7, 8. If I was to do the other side, 12345678, uh, prepare palm up, hooked in on 234. So let me show you the footwork for the guys. So from a basic step, we're just going to go 1, 2, 3, tap on for now I'm traveling down the right, but I want to turn to my left straight on 55678, basic 12345678. Now, I want to travel to my left, butt turning right. So I go 1, 2, free, tap 14, finish 5, 6, 7, 8. Let's do it one more time. So we go 123, tap on for going to a right, turning left, 56781, basic 234, Get ready. 678, going left, turning right, 1234. Okay, let me now show you the same steps with my partner. So we just x from here. We're going to step on basic one to free tap on for nothing new here for our basic. But my four is now raising up my right hand with my palm facing upwards, pinned in to the hook. I want to start turning to my left, going down the right as I step 5 are turned six, step on seven, tap on eight, basic 1234. Now to go the other way, 678 are raised my left hand up and I'm pinned in. And then I'm gonna step 1 on the spot, turn on to turn on free Kaplan four. Then 5678. The key thing really is if you do the hands wrong, you might confuse the lady to turn instead of you turning. So quite important that there's a distinction between if I put my pin facing downwards, That's a crystal clear indication to Ledi wants is going to turn. So if I was wanted to turn to my left and I did this, she might turn with me and it's going to crash the move. So crystal clear in your steps, in your lead, for your steps. So let's put the sequence to get it for the guys turning. So we're gonna start with the basic 1234, palm up, pinned in, stepping on 510, 6, 7, 8, and then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, palm up. This time the right hand. And you're going to turn to the ladies right hand, the guys left and we're going to turn to our right, going left, slowly. 123, tap on 45678. So that's your steps covered for the guys turning left and right and outside step. Now how you lead that to the lady? So we started to sequence by leading it to our partner. So let me show you the lead for this. Okay. So as you prepare 1234. So now I'll raise the lady's left right arm and I'm going to turn out to her right. I let go of the left-hand part hold the left hand's gonna make her do a homolog. So for now I'm going to let go of the lady's left hand and turn her to the right. 5, 6, 7, 8. Notice I'm still polishing the halo over a full circle. Main reason is because if a lady terms by yourself in this position, you're going to naturally do a halo herself. So I'll just replicate her own natural term pattern. Do that again, Mr. basic, to raise their hand on for Lady turns right. 5, 6, 7, 8. For the preparation, it's very important that you bring the arm close to you so then you can lead out because it's an outside outside turn before if the inside term we went out to go in to be able to lead in. Now go in to lead out. Let me show you. So we go 1234. So Jeffrey can see his hand is almost sort of in the shoulder level like this towards him. So you can then lead out and that will make me turn out. So you bend your arm and then you stretch it to lead the lady out. So make sure that your preparation if you prepare and your arm is already here, then you have nowhere to go to lead the term. Alright, let's do again 56781234. And this position is so clear from me and also almost twisting towards this way. And then you leave 5678. So that's just a very good signal, very good preparation for the followers that he gets the followers. So they, no one outside this turn is calming. That's the outside turn is less common than the inside turn. So make sure you're very clear with your lead. So she's prepared to turn outside the scope for the other side now. So we've done the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 May or raising your right harm lady's left arm. Yeah. She's going to turn to her left, traveling down her right. If you've got 56 and a hand, 7, 8. So it's quite important that you can know how you're going to start a spin, know how to stop it. So in this case it is a simple tan. You just lower it down and one, as you get more and more confident, you'll be able to give to or freeze and turn to during a travel. So you need to know when to put the brakes on. Okay. Let's try that one more time. We've gone 1234. Prepare 6, 7, 8. See how I created the angle on the hips? This is just generating momentum, so I don't have to push so hard. I'm just literally following her own momentum. So it's synchronized into pace of the movement. 5, 6, 7, 8 should try the whole thing from the top. Ready? We do basic and 123456, prepare their Lady. 1, 2, 3, she turns 56781 to the other side, and 5678 and 10, 2, 3, 4, slowly 67 guys turn 12345678123. Other side, raise the left arm and turn and 12345678. And there's your outside tense.
20. Bachata PW Vol1 8Bc Outside Turn Explanation For Ladies: Welcome back my lovely followers. This is the outside turn explained for the followers. So this time we are turning away from our partner. Let me just do it without my partner first. So this time we are turning over our left shoulder when we go to the right. So we step out on one, then turn to our left on to step out on three and tap again. So we step out to the right on one, but turn over our leftover. So this is going to feel very sort of unnatural at the beginning. So make sure you practice till it becomes more natural with your body. So we step out on the right on one, turn over your left shoulder onto the out again on the right on three and tap on four as usual. Then we do the other side. So step out on five. This time we are going to turn over our right shoulder on six. Keep turning on seven and tap on it. So we go 12345678. So if the outside turn, with each step, I am doing half a turn. So I step, I face the back, I face my partner again. And I tap. Same thing. Step out, face the back. Step out for to face your partner again and tap. And taking very big steps at the moment, just to show you very clearly, but when you actually do it, make sure you Lex or not. So why the part to make sure they're quite close together but still doing those steps. Those steps, right? Same thing as before. Make sure you spot and you keep your free arm up to protect your posture. So let's start with our partner with delete. We do have a basic 1234. Now this preparation will be a bit more in with the leader because then he pushes, not pushes, but he leads you out. So the preparation is almost a little bit of a twist. So you feel that the outside turn is coming, It's less of a before it's inside turn, we had a reason arm and it was out. This time. It's in like this. So very different sort of signal. So we prepare. We go 1234, then we let go of our left-hand as before, and returned 5678. Once more, 12345678. We are in the preparation 1234. We are sort of palm to palm. Still who can pin but palm to palm. And our hook is like this, and the pin is pushing into the, into my hook. So I immediately react with my whole body. Make sure you're nice and collected with your arm. So don't just let your arm go first. This is what happens if I don't have frame and my firm. So that's what we don't want. We want you to react immediately with your whole body. When I feel the push, I immediately turn with my body. This is because my arm is collected to my body. So if I feel a push, I immediately turn with my whole body. Let's do this side once more. 567812345678. Now let's do the other sides. We do basic 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Same thing. It's almost a little bit of a twist to prepare his armies in, to then go out, we go 12345678. Let's practice that one again. Where you go, 1234. Just the second one. Again. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, prepare on eight and we go 12345678.
21. Bachata PW Vol1 8Bd Outside Turn Tips and Practice To Music: So let's work all that through count and we'll give you delete so that it gets a nice practice in net basic, we step and 1234567 now prepare 123 prepared turn 67812, other side and 5, 6, 7 she turns and 1234 by six guys, 10 and 1234567812345678. Guys turn to we tap 56781, little tip I have for you is first of all, be close enough together because if you're too far away, then it will be very difficult to lead an outside turn because you'll pull each other off balance. Outside turn is already a little bit tricky because it feels a bit unnatural. So really make sure you're supporting with your lead and not pulling each other off balance. So stay close. And also it can happen that when somebody does an outside term that they travel offline, really focus on staying, traveling down one line and not swaying off one side or the other. If that does happen, then the person who is not turning needs to make sure they stay with the person who is turning her right. So let me just show you. If I lose my orientation and I turn off, Jeff will come after me. Okay? 1, 2, 3, prepare, 5, 6, lose my balance, but just stays with me. Instead of just keeping down your line and then pulling me off balance. So just make sure we're very aware of where each other are and then you can not pull each other off balance, but be very supportive. All right, so let's do that with music.
22. Bachata PW Vol1 9a&b Routine 1 Demo & Explanation For Men: Either to stereocenters. We'll say, Hey team or less. Valid than sit up more. And also there are two slots. Okay. You made it all the way to routine one. This is now at the time for us to put things together when we're a little bit of basics here and they're combining it with some towns left and right. Okay, so let's start with how he stopped routine. You notice the song had a very nice soft intro. So there's no way I was going to lunge into a ton of sequences. So I started with this very soft two-step. We went 1234567812345678. Then when the song kicked into its first, thus, it had a much more upbeat tempo. Then I just upped my two steps into one, which includes all the beats. So from the next section was 12345678. I'm Shane from this side. So it was too slow, two steps and two at full bar. So nasa slowly, we went 123456781234567, quicker, 12345678. Very good. Tracking on. So then I've just done one left and right. So we go to our left, we start with a basic 23456780 and forward 1234, back 678. Good job. From here. I just did a half turn. 12345678. She doesn't it up, pull those things together. So 2.5 time steps. 1, 3 5, 7, 1, 3 5 quicker. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Basics, 12, three, tap, ready to go forward and tap. And 1234, ready to turn and turn. And 12345678. So just, just, just combining things back-to-back on all the little modules that you learned and pulling them together and how we would dance a beautiful song like that and naturally, okay, the next thing I started opening up to the side, 1234, up a paired Karina for a left-hand inside time. What, 678. Then either the basic 12 345678. Then I lifted my left arm and give myself an outside tan to my left. 1, 2, 3, tap 5678. Then I raise my hand for the next one. Let's go up to the two tons from the top. Ready and 13571357. You know, what's next? One? 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Ready for basic? Basic to free, For ready to go forward. And tap. And 1234, ready to turn, laughter and add 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Now as I start doing my next basic, I'm starting to pull away 12345678. Prepare 234, she tans 6, 7, 8. Then I do another basic to free tap Pair myself. Eight, a turn to my right, going left, 1234. Then as soon as this one's finished, 5678, I raise my right arm, which is always the little warning that the laser hoping to get so you don't shock them into moose. And I start my box step, step out to my right. Sorry, To my left. One together. Free for change hands, 5678. If you remember this, this is the box that would a twist. But if you want to do the other versions, no problem at all. You can maybe do mix-and-match. I've done two variations. Both the twist, but you can choose the standard audit twisted up to you, okay? Pixel mater and then one more for luck, one 2345678 then is basic. And finish from that. So for a guide when you're leading, the sequence should be really clear that you prepare her in advance. It's very difficult for the lady. If I just do a basic 234 and then shocker into a ton, there's no warning always. 1, 2, 3, 4 by 4. I've already asked her some things to come, so just try and be mindful. If you need to put a basic in-between and that's the time to do it, to give yourself time to think of what to do next. But that's your desk. The best way to practice.
23. Bachata PW Vol1 9c Routine 1 Explanation For Ladies: Welcome back my lovely followers. You made it to the first routine. So now we are going to put together, combine some of the moves you've learned already in the previous modules, and then make a little routine out of them. So you're already at the stage where you can put a little routine together. Just put one move after the other, and then you can fill out a whole song. Right now we won't fill out the whole song, but just a few 8 for you to practice those moves in combination. So we start with a slow two-step because the song that we're using has a very slow intro. So we are going to do two slow, two steps, right? So we go 1234567812345678. As we said before when we taught you the step, make sure you take this time to connect to your partner. And also ladies, take this time to practice your nice hip movement. Then we go into too fast two steps. So we go 12345678. So far, so easy. Then we start with our basic to the side, 12345678, and we complete the whole noughts and crosses routine, we told you. So after the side, front them back, we go 12345678 and then around 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Let's rewind. Let's go from the beginning. From this halftime, two steps. We go. 123456781234567, fast, 1234567. Let's go 12345674123456712345678. Here we are. Then we take an other basic to come out of close hold, into open holds, the leader will move away from you. We go 1234, completely basic, 6, 7, 8. Then we're going into a inside turn for us. Ladies. We go 1, 2, 3, 4, and turn 678. Okay. Just back at the end of the noughts and crosses. Let's do that again. We go 1234567812345678, so you can practice your turning. Then after that, the leader will be doing a turn. After a basic 34567812345678. So we put it together that the follower is doing a inside turn and the leader will be doing an outsider to. So you can recapped and see the difference between the two. Even though obviously as followers will not leading the stern, we're just doing our basic step. Let's do from the beginning. 567 slow 12345678. Again, 23456. Now faster you go. 1234567, basic, 123456741 and back 23456 and Route 1 2 345678, basic 12345678, inside term coming up, 6781234567812345678. So again, you can really feel the difference between the preparation of your own turn pin is going down and you hook around it. So that's your preparation. And then the preparation for when the leader wants to turn himself is your flat on top like this, and the pin is going up. So just really try to feel the difference between the two leads. Alright, so now we're going into our box step with a twist. So at the end of the, of the basic, we just did the 10 exactly. And then we did the basic. And at this point again, the leader is raising my arm up, but not as high that I feel like it's a turn, it's something else. So we go into the box step, we go 1234567 and we do it again. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. And this is the end of the routine, and we just added the basic at the end to fade it out. So let's try it again from the very beginning. 567812345678. Again, 2345671234567. Let's go 123456781234567123456781234567812. Insight 10 5 6 7, 8 1 2 3 4 5 6, 7 outside. 1034567812345678, again, 12345678. At the end with the books that really try to do something nice with your free arm. Just to decide. I usually say the journey of the cherry because it's like you're holding a cherry between your middle finger and your thumb. So just place it somewhere around you, like this. Delicately on a table. So just try to style it out of your free arm like this. And now it feels a bit weird at the beginning, doing all the styling with your arms. But the more you do, even if you do it as a joke, at the beginning, you will get comfortable with it and it will become more natural.
24. Bachata PW Vol1 9d Routine 1 Tips and Practice To Music: Okay, We're going to run through the routine in count and then due to music and might give you a couple of tips along the way just to make sure that you're in check with your essential techniques. So starting from the top, Halftime 2 step 1, 3, 5, 7, 1, 3, 5, 7. From here, if you notice, we're putting a slight angle to it. So that's one nice way to kinda, if you do it two square on 1357 feels quite robotic. Whereas he put an angle on it. Angle to the right, angle to the left, angle to the right. You can also look as you can see with me and Jeff were also of looking at our tap room. And we're looking both sides, sort of wherever you look, that move is emphasized. So what we want to emphasize right now is our little top here. So you sort of look a little bit not completely to the floor, but just a little bit to that direction. And then the other direction. Just very subtle, not it doesn't need to be there, but it's a way how you can emphasize a certain we did a quick two-step, went 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 out to the side for the basic, 123, 5, 6, 7 forward, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8. Here we're doing a half term, but in this term, it could be a quarter, two-thirds, three-quarters, wherever you feel the room has for you. So just, just be free with it. Experiment, see how much you can get away with. Always kinda push your technique to the limit and see how much you can handle. Then we start to decide 123, turn around 5678. Great, Moving on. We step out it aside to free our slide down 5678. From here, I'm preparing my partner 12 essentially really want to make sure this, these preparations can really early. Yeah, it helps you plan a few beats ahead and gives a ton of warning, which you will appreciate. When you dance with her more. She turns five and the halo touch. Then we do a basic 2345678. Here. I've added the basic for you just to give you some time, but you can easily go into if you feel like they don't need to put basic in, take it out if you want to, but you know, do experiment, see how fast your brain is for India sequences with the techniques to an intact turning to our right, during and outside turn to the left. 1, 2, bree, Cat, 5, 6, ready? Straight into books that we twist 12 together, change hands. 56 together again, and 123456781. Little tip that I can give you. I see a lot in beginner classes is your hands in the basic. So leaders you will need your hand for signals a lot later. So when you do a basic, keep them quiet still. So as you can see, Jeff, when we do basics, he keeps his hand. Why? Why don't have them together like this and not too high, quite wide and lower than you think really. You have more control when they're lower. And we're just moving to the side. He moved them slightly side to side. But I see a lot is all sorts of window washing circles. I know it's tempting because you want to interpret them with music and you don't have that many moves yet. But trust me, just the patients you will get low true of moves like that you can do and you will need your hands for the actual signals for the move. So for now, just be very clear, like driving a car when you just going straight, you're holding your steering wheel still and just very solid. So it's the same with dancing. Okay, just be careful with all the hand movement in the basics, right? Let's try the routine to music. Either does that kappa is we'll say your team or less, but yes, it's valid. Another seat at Loyola. So yeah. Either to study, a lot of people will say you came on SBIRT.
