Autumn Color Trends 2019 - Learn to Mix Beautiful Colors in Watercolor

1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Irina Trzaskos , water color artists in Illustrator. Welcome to my Skillshare channel. Here you will find an [inaudible] of watercolor classes for beginners. In today's class, I want to share with you autumn colors trends and how to mix them in water color. All my classes are filmed in real time, so you can follow along. Supplies: To make stranger autumn colored threads, we don't need our other supplies. We just need your watercolor paint. Openly listing of entire paint palette by the colors I have in the project section of a class. If you're interested and will need water, you will need paint towel, you will need water pad paper or if you are having a sketchbook where you collect your [inaudible] that'll work too. Also need any brush you are comfortable with working and a paper towel to dry your brush. When you need to take more paints unless it's very helpful. That s all what you need so lets mix some colors. 3. Color story 1: In the very first trend colored palette will have soft, warm autumn colors. We can use in all art work and in every mix we'll have one color which will be repeating, creating a color harmony as we talked in basics of comics in class if you watched it. So we'll have a color, Naples yellow, if you don't have this color, you can try to use any yellow you have, or oak yellow probably it will work too. The first color is Naples yellow itself, but if it feels too bright to you, try to add a drop of violet shaved, bare, this complimentary color of yellow, and it will neutralize it if it feels too bright for you. Next color we have is magenta with a little bit of Naples yellow and a lot of water, soft and beautiful, warmed up, but a drop of Naples yellow, so magenta with Naples yellow. Next, let's add char mix more magenta and little bit of violet, and Naples yellow, again. This is too much yellow so I used some of magenta and more violent, not so much violet. So this is for color. Here we have magenta violet, and Naples yellow, of course. Next, let's mix a soft green color. We'll use teal, the color I called teal is officially called Azure blue. I will be sharing all the cars in my color palette in the project section of a class. So when I say magenta, it's crazy done rose, but magenta is easier to pronounce and it's a more popular name of a color, even if it's not official. So we mixed some teal will Naples yellow, we can use more yellow in this case. Is some I keep gets shallow or too much green and too much teal. However, the result is this soft, beautiful green. Yes, this is the right one. So here we have teal, with a zone of blue and Naples yellow. Next, let's make some red orange for forensic color for that. We are using garmin red with Naples yellow, and we get this creamy beautiful orange. So it's garmin red, you can see garmin red is different from magenta. It's warmer and Naples yellow and the last column needs to be Grey, and we'll use Naples yellow, violet, which is complimentary. So the veil churn into unusual color and a little bit of ultramarine blue and we'll use plenty of water, as a result we have this beautiful, warm shade of Grey which will work great with all the colors in our transit palette, because it also has the unifying color, which is Naples yellow. Here is the yellow, violet, and ultramarine blue. So this is our warm, soft author trends that color palette. 4. Color story 2: In next Renzi fall colors palette, we'll have following colors. We need almost black color. However, I don't like using black, so let's use Payne's gray instead. If you don't have Payne's gray, you can use a mix of Ultramarine blue with sepia, or you can add a little bit of other color in your black so it doesn't look too flat. Payne's gray is a beautiful color, [inaudible]. Next color is brownish, but it has a very nice tone. I'll show you how to mix it. We need Cadmium orange and it's complimentary, Ultramarine blue. In this mix, we need to have more orange than blue, and we need more paint so it won't be too watery. As a result, we have this beautiful, brown. Here we have only Payne's gray, and here we have Cadmium orange and Ultramarine blue. Next we need soft romantic pink. We'll take our magenta and we'll add a little bit of Naples yellow to it , a little more magenta and a lot of water. You can see how beautiful this pink looks with brown and with black. Here we have magenta, and Naples yellow, just a little bit. Next we need a nude color, so we'll be mixing, once again, Cadmium red and Naples yellow together, and we'll add some water to it. This looks like skin tone, but it looks great in any atom compositions, plus it's a part of this transit palette. Here we have Cadmium red, and Naples yellow, and water. Next color we need a very rich red, so we'll take Cadmium red, and you remember from basics of color mixing that, to make color richer and deeper, we need to add a drop of complimentary to it. To Cadmium red, we'll add a drop of green. Let's take some more paints so it'll be thicker, and a drop of green, a little bit more red. We have a strong, beautiful, deep red. We have Cadmium red and green, just a little bit of green. Next color we need is a beautiful gray , which looks like Autumn sky. For a beautiful gray , we need once again to mix Ultramarine blue with Cadmium orange. This time we need to have more blue than orange, [inaudible] with water and we get a very nice Autumn sky, grayish blue. Here we have Ultramarine blue and Cadmium orange, the same mix as here but different proportions. Here we have more blue, and here we have more orange. This is our next Renzi fall color palette, and I hope you like it, because I do like it so much. 5. Color story 3: Next color story which is on trend, is almost monochromatic. Not really, but it doesn't have a lot of jumps from one color to another. We'll start with paynes gray, but we'll add some burgundy into it which is created on violet I guess. I will add to the colors in the project section of the class. We add a little bit of burgundy to our Payne's Gray, and we have this beautiful dark gray color, a little bit of burgundy undertone to it. We have Payne's Gray and burgundy. I really encourage you to try to mix the colors with the paints you have. Look at the color and find the one which is so similar to what I have even if you don't have a color exactly as mine. The next step color will be all mixed by using my magenta, Naples yellow and green. Beautiful dusty pink is a result of these mix. Here we have magenta, Naples yellow, and grassy green. Next color, we just need to mix some blue painting here with Naples yellow, the same blue paint that we used here, I said it's results will get color which is similar to this one, but still different let's try to add a little more burgundy tint so we get a darker color. The next color we need to mix four colors, which has some magenta, need a bit of burgundy tint, Naples yellow, and Payne's Gray. We need more magenta here, add it more burgundy and Payne's Gray, and now we need more Naples yellow. This is the right one, that's get the results, we get this top-hat, I hope I pronounce it right, but this is a beautiful brownish almost like French gray color. Here we have magenta, [inaudible] Naples yellow and Payne's Gray. Now add to this mix lists, add some more magenta, and to this result to get them brighter pink, it's all these plus some more magenta. Now let's add a little bit off from Naples yellow tint, and a lot of water. So you can see this color palette has some neutrals, has some blighter pinks, some deeper pinks, and it really looks almost like monochromatic even we used a lot of colors. Here we used all this colors and some more Naples yellow. This is our romantic monochromatic 24 color pallete. 6. Color story 4: Next trends or color story has more colors. It's a large spectrum of colors of different hues. If you need some colorful a composition it's a good one to use. Even It has some brighter colors. But try to use the brighter ones in more moderate way. Be careful don't use too much green because then it will be feeling like summer not like autumn. In this part we have color over here, which is giving color. For it will mix cadmium orange with magenta. You can add some more orange to it because it's autumn. We welcome orange. Here we have cadmium orange and magenta. Next color is a deep beautiful blue. We mixed it before in other classes, and this one is perfect for this color story. It's made out of teal and violet. This will dissolve to have beautiful at each black blue. If you don't have teal you can try to use emerald green, or a cold green you have. Here we have teal and violet. For next color we need a blue printing but a water more one than we used in the biggest color plates. We need to make some carmen red with a little bit of classic green. We get this rich beautiful wine color. It's carmen red and classic green. Next I'll have some bright colors and the first one is some magenta. We have a little bit of ultramarine blue we also add magenta, and it has to be pretty light, so it [inaudible] still need more magenta. Magenta here and ultramarine blue. Next color is a beautiful green shade. We'll use teal and a little bit more of cadmium orange. This is to add, now we need some more teal. This is the beautiful green we get. We used teal, and cadmium orange just a little bit. The next color we'll use lemon yellow, and little bit of magenta. Again, violet was overwhelming. We're neutralizing lemon yellow with violet and we're getting this greenish, beautiful yellow. Yellow and violet. This is unusual but printing autumn colored plates and I hope you'll have fun using it, and I can't wait to see what you do with beautiful color combinations. 7.
