1. Course Introduction (10): Hi, and welcome to arabic Reading for beginners with me. Amina Mousa, a qualified teacher in Arabic and textiles, graduated from the University of data and Lynn Sharp in Sweden. I have learned Arabic in Syria, where I also went to primary and secondary school. And I have been teaching Arabic for around five years now for both adults and children who has no Arabic background. In this course, you'll be learning about Arabic alfabets. The alfabets in different forms. Arabic vocals, threshing and doubling, and everything else you need to know to be able to read a sentence in Arabic. We might occasionally go through the meaning of some words, but that will not be the focus of this course. 2. The Arabic afabets : Lesson one, the Arabic alfabets. We will be going through the alfabets. A. Read them one-by-one and give you some time to repeat after me. There. The gene hair than that rock scene. She odd ball ball. Law. In line. Fare of cath. Lab. Mean noon. Wow. Yeah. Try to read the Arabic afabets by itself. Now. You can start by practicing the first line couple of times and then go into the second line. And then the third line. Now you have the Arabic alfabets with no English script, might be a bit more challenging. Read a couple of times. In this slide, I presented some of the letters that might be a little bit challenging to pronounce. So we can go through them together. The first one is hair. Hair, as in the word hammer. Hammer. It comes from the middle of the throat. The next one is hot. Hot, like Hodge, have Gela. Next one is, which is the same as the in English if you are English speaker. But the one that many people could confuse it with is as in law lemma. Another one we have is slop. Saw as Saldana is a bit thicker than sex scene. And then we have dot, dot, which does not exist in any other Language. And we have ball, ball, which is a bit similar to tell, but this one is thicker. Boiler. And then we have a wind. Or next is our lemma. In this slide, I want to try to read these alfabets. It's in a different order. After you try to read it by itself, you can resume the audio to listen to the correct reading. Wow. She and I saw seen gene that hair than he of meme than calf. Bear. Hair. Fair? Yeah. Fair. Noon. Bob lamb 3. The alfabets in deffirent forms: Listen to the alfabets in different forms. We will be going through the alfabets in different forms. Since in Arabic, the words are written together. We're gonna go through all the alfabets and how they look when they are connected at the beginning, in the middle and event, the first letter is LF. We can see that it's connected to the letter before it, but not the ones that comes after. As in bat, I love to. Then we have bad data and they are connected to all the letters before and after, as in bat. Thurber. At. There is another kind of tab called Bolsa, which only comes at the end of the letter. And could look differently depending on the letter before it. After that, we have gene had hot. And they're also connected to all the letters before and after, as in Jabba, tough. But he then, then they do not connect with a letter after it. Daga, daga, lab, but the row and there are the same. They do not coordinate with a letter after it as in trouble. But our job that is seen and chin well-connected with the letters before and after, as in the cell, sharp, SOB, BAD, are connected to all litters, sought her new job. Cough. So connected to the ones before and after law, bar, bar, bar, law, RA, bar, bar. You have in the plane also connected to the ones before and after. I left leg. Bear on and off, also connects to all fell. Off, back off lamb known gene, known the calf which look a little bit different at the beginning and in the middle, but also connected the ones before and after Rama back. Rebecca Lam also connects to all letters, but sometimes might be confused with Adam beginning go through some examples. Lamb lemma. But Heartland meme also connects to all meme known Care mean lam back at noon. Here we can see the LF LF mean, raw known, I1, calf mean known. Looks a little bit different. Have airlift gene, raw lamb. But I leave her that her yeah. Yeah. Is also similar to bet that that sometimes just keep an eye on the dots. Yeah. I live meme. Meme. Yeah. Noon seen pneumonia. We will be doing some reading practice. I'll give you some time to try. Then you can listen to the correct one. So let's begin. Gene. Gene. Gene. They'll have to haul the bear. Fair. Fair. The gene. Raw have bear, the bear, the rah, rah, rah, rah, seen bad. G, raw have seen draw, saw the law, bear. The bear. She Ra. They're seen Shane row there. But to summarize, beta cell, yet new lamb, Jim had hop scene Xin saw Bob. Mean cough, connects to all letter before and after. However, then they'll Rosa, elif and wow, do not coordinate to the left or after it. In vain. Her calf tolerable talk a bit different, beginning in the middle and at the end sometimes 4. Short vocals الحركات: Lesson three, vocals and some examples on it. We have three types of vocals in Arabic. Fatale, guess Sarah, E, and bomber. Oh, we're gonna go through how a liter is read with haircut. Alice. E, 0, bad, bad. B to D, to C, to D, to G to hair, hair. He Har, har. Hope that the D do. Then the Li Lu rah, rah group, they the x0, x2 seen. C, Xu, Xin, share, Xi Shou, saw, saw sleep. So DOD though, the blue bar, bar, bar, bar. We vote in a room in a hurry. Oh, fair, fair. We're going to try to read these words with the skill. We're going to try to read one word at the time. I'm going to read the first one. Then I want you to try to read the second one. After that, I'll read it. Left eye color. The next one. The row that are what? Cellar, Bar, bear, baba, baba, GitHub. Now the Nebhepetre that the IBA share GI Bill, Sherry Bell, me or send me me. And it has a known sound at the end. It's only used at the end of a word which are undefined. For example, we're the tune, a flower. You probably noticed that there is an ellipse at the end of the main factor, Ben, which is always written but not pronounced. Men mean moon. Then been born.
