Hello all! I'm Pluvias, a self-taught anime artist.

I've been drawing since I could first hold a pencil, but I started taking it seriously in 2009, which was the year I started doing digital art with a drawing tablet, and since then I've kept striving to improve my level!  I also draw every now and then on paper using Copic Markers.
If you like my content and want more, you can watch free tutorials on my YouTube channel, in addition to lots of drawing process videos and useful information for anime artists!

1. Introduction: Hello everyone. I would like to welcome and thank you all for participating in my first online drawing course. First of all, I would like to point that I'm not a native English speaker. I have tried delivering this in the clearest and simplest language, but I'm sure I made several grammatical or pronunciation mistakes. So please do forgive me for that. As you might have seen in the course curriculum, This course is divided into four sections. Each section covers related topics. Before we start, I have several points I would like to clarify. Firstly, what you're going to learn here is my omitted and drawing and is not by any way the correct method. There is no correct way to draw. In my opinion, each individual draws in their own ways. And this is the nice thing about it. Thanks to this, we see many beautiful art styles that are unique in their own ways. Secondly, you're going to learn the basics of drawing here. And I have to request that you practice, practice, and practice. Because drawing is a skill in the end and any school needs to practice to be improved. What's important is to enjoy practicing and live anxiety or self doubt. Aside, it's alright if you make mistakes or screw up, we all do. You have an eraser by your side to help you fix things whenever you need. Thirdly, I'll door digitally on Paint Tool Sai software, just for the sake of a clear explanation interface. But you don't have to use any drawing software or tablet. All you need to do is follow up with a paper and a pencil. Also, I will draw the base guidelines with the blue color and sketch with a black So it's clear for you. But if you're drawing on paper, then make sure to draw bases lightly with pencil so you don't get your allies mixed up. Lastly, disagree on this simple thing. When you dro, do not make your hands diff life this, withdraw with freedom and make light and quick strokes. That's all I wanted to say for an introduction. I hope you enjoy this course and find it useful. I'm looking forward to see your works. 2. Girl Eye: To learn how to draw the eye of an anime girl. Let's first take a look at the elements that make it up. The first is the upper eyelid, The second is the lower eyelid. The third is the eye itself. The fourth are the eyelashes. The fifth is the pupil. And the sixth and last is light reflection from the environment. Now by knowing these less supply them as we draw a decent sketch of VI, I will draw you die that's on the right side of the face. This one to be more clear. So we start by drawing a curve where its upper part is slightly more towards the right. Then we do the same thing for the lower eyelid. Next, we draw an oval for the eye and leave a space at the top for adding the light reflection later. Now we increase the thickness of the islet more towards the right side. We keep the ends. Then SAR. We do the same thing for the bottom Islet. But notice that its thickness is way less than the upper one. Next we draw the eyelashes and make them more dense on the right side. And draw the bottom lashes multiset. They are shorter than the upper ones. On the left side, I like to add one or two dashes maximum. Notice that as we're drawing the eye, we try not to exceed this area which indicates the eye white. Now let's go back to add the pupil drought as an incomplete circle and shaded slightly from the bottom. Next, we add the light reflection. I like to draw it in an oval shape rather than a Play Circle. We add another one in the middle near the bottom of the eye. Lastly, we shade the eye with a few strokes that go from dark to light as we go down. And there you have it. We're done. 3. Guy Eye: The eye of a guy has basically the same elements discussed earlier. And upper eyelid and lower eyelid. The circle of the eye, the pupil, and the light reflection from the environment. I'll discuss the eyelashes later. So let's draw it in more details. Here again, we start by drawing a curve. But if we make the pH here more towards the middle, to make the eye sharp, we add a line like this on the right side. Next, we'll draw the button islet. It's closer to a flat line, then a curve. We increase the thickness of the islets more towards the middle here and leave the ends. Then next, we draw a circle for the I. Leave in an empty space at the top for the light reflection to be added later. Since the shape of the eye circular, we draw a circle for the eye pupil. We leave it open from the top and Shane is slightly from the bottom. Next, let's draw the light reflection as ovals from the top and the middle. Again. As for the eyelashes, it's common that anaemic eyes don't have them since they make them MOOC girly. To be arbitrary, realistic, however, we can add very few of them and make them so short such that they don't indicate any godliness. Now we shade the top of the i, going from dark to light as we go down. And finally, we can add a line at the top to indicate that the eyelid is slightly closed. This is optional, but it can add a cool look to the guy. And that's it. It's done. 4. Closed Eye: A closed II can be drawn in two different ways. The first is upward to indicate happiness or smiling, and the second is downward to indicate sleeping are thinking. So for the upward one, We draw an upward curve that has its peak in about the middle. And we increase its thickness while leaving the ends. And this is a gross I by the way. So I'm adding those lines below for the eyelashes. I don't know why, but it's just my favorite way of doing it. Now we add some extra eyelashes. And finally we draw this line above for the closed upper eyelid. And guys closed eyes, basically the same, just with short or no eyelashes at all. So here I'll just draw some short eyelashes. Now for the downward one, we draw a curve with a peak in the middle. Facing the downside. We increases thickness and add some eyelashes. And again, this is a girl's AI. And lastly, the line above for the closed eyelid. Again, the guys version is identical, but with short or no eyelashes at all. So I added some short ones here. 5. Nose and Mouth: The nose is the simplest of all. It can be just to point or a short line like this for a girl. For the guy, we draw a slightly longer line. This will be clear later when we draw the whole phase altogether. As for the mouth, we denoted smiling won by just a curve. But I like to leave a space in the middle one. I draw it to make it look gentler. Like this. We can add the smaller curve below to indicate the edge of the bottom lip. As for me, this is an optional step since it doesn't look pretty all the time. For laughing mouth, we draw a curve, an extended from the bottom to make it open. I also like leave a space in the middle here. And we draw those curves above for the tongue. 6. Girl's Head - Front View: Now that we've learned how to draw the facial features, let's combine them and draw full face of rigor. We start by drawing a cross while making sure that vertical line devise the horizontal in the center. Such that those two lines here have the same line. I lower the opacity here. So we can see clearly. But if you are drawn on paper it and make sure you draw the crust very lightly. So we start by drawing slightly curved lines from bottom and right side and make them meet somewhere in the middle. We do the same for the left side and make them meet in the middle. Try not to make it to look to point t because the face is round and not sharp. It helps to draw a horizontal line here to make sure both sides are on the same level. I'm not so good with straight lines by the way, they like to come up tilt it. I don't know why. So I guess now is good. And I am going to fix the face according to it. Now. Good. I'm going to draw the eyes now on top of this line. I always take my sweet time drawing the face because I believe it's the most appealing part in a character. It's okay to take your time in drawing. The best thing to do is draw with ease and less stressed aside. You can always correct your mistakes. So don't worry too much about making them. We all make mistakes and it's completely normal thing. And as you can see here, I made a mistake, right? I smaller than the left eye. Now I'm gonna fix it. You know, the pain of making the eyes, lips similar, especially on the frontal view. Personally, I don't really like the frontal view because everything has to be symmetrical. But that's just me. Could be different for you. So I'm gonna fast forward here until their eyes look satisfying to me. We draw a little dot for the nose on the center line here. And below that we draw the mouth. Let's go for a smiling face here because, why not? Above the eyes? Draw little curves for the eye prose. Let's extend the face of it and draw the IRS. We start drawing the areas from the top of the eye to the bottom of the that, that's basically the range of the air. The air is very simple to draw. Draw a curve like this. Notice how it's submit pointy at the top. We can ask simple details in satellite. This line here are those lines here. And it's up to you what to add inside. And you get cape. It's as simple as you want. 7. Guy's Head - Front View: For the guy face, we do the same drill crest with the horizontal line divided in half by the vertical one. We draw the face in those button quarters. And again, we try to make them as much symmetrical as possible. Next, we draw the eyes over the horizontal line. I increase the speed again because I spend a good time modifying them. Now for the nows, I draw it as a short, slightly curved line and a smile for the mouth to. Let's go back and add details to the eyes. Yes, we don't have to follow a certain order while drawing this drone dormitory find suitable for yourself. Now we add the eyebrows, but since it's a guy, let's make them slightly thicker. Finally, the areas. And the same way. I'll tell you a little secret. I actually rarely drove bases are guidelines for the face since I learned drawn without them. So if you're a government enough, then you can also skip drown them. They're not a must. They're just there to help guide you. By the way, I forgot to mention this, but you can also draw a horizontal line here and fix the phase according to it. One last differ faces is if you want to draw a longer phases, then make the crust longer. Okay, this is too long. Now. I guess it's the long width anyway. And the same goes for smaller faces, like children, for example. We draw shorter crest for that. 8. Girl's Hair: Drawing the hair is simply done this way. Quick strokes, hearing their up and down and down and up and up and up and down, down however you like it. There is only one rule when it comes to hair. Do not be stiff while drawing it. Just draw it with freedom. Dci rigid it looks when you draw it stiffly. You don't want your character's hair to look like that. So let her flow by itself. That does much strands and lines as you want. So let's go back to the growth phase we drew earlier. We start by drawing this curve called the hairline. It is basically the lowest edge of the hair. Next, we draw a big circular line to indicate the top of the head. Notice how far it is from the hair line. Now the head looks too big, but don't worry, it will look just fine when we draw the hair brown. Now we start adding the bank. Do not go above the hair line. Otherwise it can indicate a bolt area and the head. I usually have the banks covered. The air is slightly autocomplete if I find it to be more natural this way, unless the hair is pulled back, of course. I'll increase the speed now again, to show you the process, it is basically self explainable. Notice how drone thin flow is trans gifts there and animated and natural look. Now let's draw the neck. A useful way to check if your drawing looks right is by flipping it. You can use a mirror usher drawn on paper dispatcher mistakes and fix them. As you can see here, correctly, some mistakes there weren't really obvious on the normal view. So yeah, this helps in drone generally. 9. Guy's Hair: Now for the guy's hair, we also start by drawing the hairline. Next, we grow the circle of the head. Again. We make the head look too. They can have that cover later. So we start by drawing the banks, making sure enough not to go beyond the airline. I also had it covered the areas here. The difference here is that the guy's hair is short, so we'll have it floating somehow. We dress trends like this on the edges and in the middle to give the Harrison volume and definition. And so that it doesn't look created. Don't forget to draw the hair below the Er2. I want to bring your attention here to this part. When we drove the Harris trans here we have to give them a sense of depth. As in some strands are closer to us as viewers. So they come in the front. So pay attention to this and erase the lines that indicate otherwise. Oh, and I forgot to draw the neck of this poor guy. Those two lines I'll add here, define the neck nicely. 10. 3/4 View Head: Let's learn how to draw the three-quarter view. If we imagine the face as a three-dimensional oval, then any line we've drawn this oval will be curved by looking from this angle. That's why our base here will be curved. The face will draw, will be facing the left direction. So the left portion of the line should be smaller than the right one. Now we started drawing the face. It's better to start from this side. And we do the other side and leave it for later. We draw the nodes on the vertical line and the eyes on the horizontal one, and the mouth. Eyebrows. Now we draw two curved guidelines, one at the top of the eye and the other at the bottom of the nose so that we draw the ear in between. In this and view, the air on the left side is not visible. Next, we draw the hairline. Notice how the peak is on the top of the vertical line. And we start drawing. I want you to be. 11. Side View Head: For the sighted view, it's helpful to start by drawing a circle, then divided in half by a vertical line, and divide again by horizontal line, which will be the eye level. Draw another rabbit longer horizontal line, which will be the noise level. And one last short line, again horizontally for the chin level. Now we draw a curve connecting these two lines and draw another curve that connects to the bottom line. From there we draw a curve that just touches the circle. We draw the air on the vertical line which is in the middle of the head. We draw the eye from the side view this way two occurs meeting at a point and a sharp curve here. We increase the thickness of the islets like this. And draw the eye in a thin oval shape, then fill in Wednesday I pupil in light reflection. And lastly at the eye lashes from the top and the bottom. So we draw the eye on top of the first line. Next, the mouth and the eyebrow. Now we start adding the hair. The bank here. Now let's draw the circle of the head to aid us in drawing the hair. And make it a big circle. The other side. For the mouth, we can erase this part here. This way. Can add an Austrian slips part is optional. You can draw it either way. The guy is drawn in the exact same steps. I'll leave you to watch here to indicate the edges of the face. Don't forget that. 12. Hands: Key Points: Now we'll talk about drawing hands, which is like the main challenge every artist spaces, including myself. The hand is somehow complex since each finger can be folded and the hand looks different in different angles. But I realized that it's very important to pay attention to some main points concerning the anatomy of the hand. First, they will help a lot in getting a better understanding of it. I'm going to use a real photo for demonstration purposes. And of course you can follow up by looking at your own hand. The first is about the number of joints and fingers. Each finger has three joints, will draw these as circles. The first, the second, and the third. The first, second, third, first, second, third, first, second, third. However, the film has only to join. The joys, divide the finger into several parts. Those four fingers have three parts, which I'll draw as rectangles. The first, the second, and the third. The first second, third, first, second, third, first, second, third. The thumb has two parts only. The second is about the alignment of the joints. If we draw a line connecting them with a certain pattern. Notice how it goes up and down and down again. Goes up and down and down again. See how the line gets deeper as we go towards the pinky finger. This leads us to talk about the third, concerning the length of the fingers. Notice how those two fingers have almost the same length. Some people, however, have this finger longer. The middle finger is the longest, while the pinky is the shortest. The film is like this. It stop is almost near the bottom of the index finger. Notice how the film starts from the beginning of the hand. The third is about this bone here is showing from the pinky side more than the thumb side. The fourth and the last point is about the length of the finger part. The bottom part between those two joints is the longest. The middle part is slightly shorter, and the top part is the shortest on all. If we draw the price next to each other, then the length would be as follows. The bottom part is the longest, the middle is shorter, and the top one is the shortest, and it includes the nail. Regarding the palm. Notice how fingers are divided into parts. Each line of this is opposite to a finger joint. We have those two curves here that aid the hand and folding. And those two curves for folding the palm. Those are all the points I wanted to note. In the next video, we'll learn how to draw simpler hand while keeping those points in mind. 13. Hands: Front and Back Views: We start by drawing a trapezoid while leaving the top open. Then draw a vertical line near the middle, closer to the thumb. Next, we draw the joints as circles in the pattern we discussed earlier. Try to draw the circles and similar size while keeping the distance between them as uniform as possible. Now we draw the second set of joints while following the same pattern. Goes deeper towards the pinky finger joint. And lastly, the third set of joints. We draw them closer to the previous ones. And again we go steeper towards the pinky finger. Now we draw the thumb Joints. The first one is bigger than the second. Next, we grow the fingered parsing rectangles like we discussed earlier. The first rectangle is the longest, The second one is slightly shorter, and the last is the shortest. And so on. There's some rectangles are wider than the rest of the fingers. Now we draw the fingers in a curvy manner. We tried to draw them such that they are similar in thickness. Notice how the thumb joint is prominent. When we drove fingers from sideview. We have the joints from this side and the fingers are curved to the inside from the other side to meet them prominent. And we connect the fingers with simple curves here. The same thing for the next. We draw the bone here and continue the rest of the scene here. Finally, we draw nails in the upper part of each finger. If we want to draw along nails, we draw them like this. Exceeding the top of the fingers. Regarding We use the same base. We draw curvy fingers and prominent thumb joints. After that, we connect the fingers with curves like this. And we draw simple lines in the joint areas. These lines show how fingers are divided into parts. They helped fingers in folding. We connect the phone booth a curve, and draw those curves here that help it bomb unfolding. The males do not show from this side. In such case, we draw them as single curves on top, multi-finger. Something like this. 14. Hands: Poses: Now we're going to draw different poses for the hands. The first one is aside. If you draw a trapezoid with an inclined line, then draw the finger joints, starting with the thumb, then the index finger, and the middle finger. I drew lines here instead of rectangles to represent the finger part. We can't see the rest of the fingers from this view. So we're not gonna draw them. Now let's draw the hand while following the guidelines. The zombie starts at the beginning of the hand and has two parts, only. The thumb joint is prominent here. Draw the other fingers. They consist of three parts. Again, simple, isn't it? We started with the vertical line here, just like we did previously. Draw the finger joints in the pattern we discussed. Try to have them similar in sizes in distance. And thumb joints. There are close to the hand since it's closed. Here we troll little rectangles that represent the first parts of the fingers. Now we grow the handover, this base. This pose is similar to the basic one we first learned, except that the fingers are folded. Except that the fingers are folded. Finally, another side of you. We start again with a trapezoid and draw the joints of the index finger and take your time until you feel it, got it right. We will draw some of the other fingers behind the index and middle finger. The pinky won't be showing here. Well, the fingers were too short to find them. This is where you'll need to go out and find a suitable reference for the poles you're seeking and sketch it. I'll choose this one, for example. I'll try to copy this pose just by looking at imitating. As for me, when it comes to copying, I have no certain steps to follow. I just tried to imitate the picture in front of me while keeping the rules of the hand anatomy in mind. In other words, I pay attention to the finger parts in length. Maybe there isn't, doesn't look too good if I compare it with the original. However, when I remove the reference photo, it looks great. And I feel proud outgrew that. I'll copy this pose as well. Using references is not a batter or shameful thing at all. In the end, our imagination is limited and we always need to go back and seek help from the all surrounding us. Sometimes we can't find a reference with the exact posing our mind. In such case, it's helpful to ask someone around you for help. You can ask them to make the poison and data photo of it. Or you can use some useful proteins that allow you to make any pose you desire. I'll tell you later about one useful program that helps you make any pose you desire for hands and body. 15. Feet: Drawn fetus simpler than hands and will help a lot to imagine the feet as a 3D trapezoid like this. I will draw a food from different angles. Let's start with the side view. Draw these two lines for the leg. Then draw a trapezoid. And then for the big toe. Now draw the full tooth curvy lines. Notice how the curve goes up in the middle, since the bottom of the food is not flat. Draw the big tall here. Make the joint prominent here. The other tos do not show from this angle. We need to have everything sit on horizontal line. Draw simple lines for the bone here. Here's another side of you, but from the other side, draw the same base. A draw here, three ovals instead, starting from small to big, like we did earlier. Then. The fourth to the mental tool. And finally, the one lines for the front view draw the lead lines. A trapezoid, then a rectangle so that we get the 3D trapezoid shape we discussed earlier. Draw the leg and add some curves here for the bones. Then draw a curve and worse here to indicate the He'll draw those. Making them smaller as you go towards the little. Continue drone defeat and start drawing the toes. The vehicle is the biggest toll as its name suggests. The nail is drawn flat here. Slightly behind the lines. Now start drone over it and make the most prominent. Continue drawing curves. And draw those two curves here. Now a top view angle. Start with the leg lines that trapezoid. Then draw a triangle like this for the toes. Draw the leg and prominent owns. And slight curve here for the heel. Then draw the big toe. And the rest of the tools. The triangle we drew you to draw the toes and they're correct length. Notice this space between the victim and the index one. He will draw slightly bent trapezoid like this through the leg in a similar way to the side of you we did earlier. Will the toes and the line here for the whole. Finally, a bottom view. Draw the following shape with curves going inward. And draw a triangle again here for the toes, draw the feed following the base. And those two curves for folding the food. Finally, draw the tools one following the triangle base. Make sure to make. These were the main fee to views you might need. Usually defeat is not drawn frequently as most of the time our characters are we shoes. It's essential to learn how to draw them. There, indeed, simpler than the hands. 16. Girl's Body: 4 Views: The best way to draw bodies by drawing a base out of simple shapes like lines and circles. I'll start with drawing a fraud to view a female body. Draw circle for the head, a line there represents the spine. Then draw an hour glass, which is simply two triangles facing each other. Like this. Draw circle between them. Your two circles for the shoulder joints here and two big circles for the hip joints. And those lines for the legs. The circles in the middle for the knee joints draw two triangles for the feet. Similarly for the arms, draw lines with circles in the middle for the joint. And triangles representing the hands. I'll draw the adequately just saw our protractor has a head. Apply the same principles we discussed earlier. I drove faces without basis most of the times in some used to that. Now draw the next such that the spine line is in the middle. And start drawing the body, the female bodies curvy. That's why you should stay away from straight lines. Draw the torso by following the hourglass shape such that it's wide at the top, in the middle, near the waste, and wide at the bottom. Now draw the hip. Is thirst wide at the top and gets thinner as we go down. Doors. Draw an outward curve for the knee bone and continue leg. It also starts white thing gets thinner as we go down towards the foot. Now draw the feet. I do them quickly here, but you can take your time drawing them detailed like we did earlier. Let's go back to the arms. They also start slightly wide at the top. Then get wider after the joint. And then near the hand. I'll draw here as well. I saw a nice tip for drawing the female lead. Draw the hip as occurred from the outer site and straight line on the inner side. The leg is drawn in the opposite, a curve on the outer side and a straight line on the inner side. Don't forget the knee joint. To try this method, it might help you out real quick, simple close. Now we'll talk about close in details later. Start by drawing a circle for the head. Then draw slightly current design. Next, the hourglass-shaped. But here the right side is bigger than the left side since it's closer to us as viewers draw a circle in the middle, draw the arcs with their joints. The left arm is closer to the body here since we are looking from an angle, draw the hip joints. The right one is bigger than the left one again because it's closer to us. Draw the legs with their circle joints. Drove feet as why they're triangles than previously. I'll draw that quickly. I again draw the neck. This fine. He's closer to the left because it's an angle view. Draw the body with curvy lines. The chest area as more premium from this side. And waste AS thin. And guess what it looks like I drew for this demonstration is what matters here. We can add those two lines for the draw the ons while keeping in mind the thicknesses.'s a simple quick hand. Left hand is slightly behind the buddy. I'll do a quick simple close again. Draw a circle of the hourglass shape is thinner from this side. Draw the line with the circles of the joint. The other leg almost doesn't show up and decide whether it looks better when we draw a little bit of it. I'll draw the space with pink color so we can see that clearly. Draw an inclined line that starts at this line. This line represents the shoulder. Then draw the lines with the joints. The other arm doesn't show from this side. I draw the head quickly again. Draw the neck. And from there, draw a parallel line to the shoulder line. Then grow the arm in the same way we discussed previously. And the hand. Continue drawing the buddy. It just has also chromium from this side. And the guidelines will drop. The knee joint prominent. Finally close. The base is very similar to the one. Since is the same angle but from the backside. We have to draw the same level since the pose is symmetrical. Standing straight here. Notice the end of the, of the neck. And follow the guidelines for the rest of the body. Continuing the arms here next to the body and the Pinky's outside. In such case, I'd go search for reference picture for this angle quickly from my own imagination and memory. So I gave her some. Finally, we can add these two lines here at the area of the knee joint. 17. Guy's Body: 4 Views: We will draw the male body by using a base out of simple shapes. Again, a circle for the head, a line for this pine. Then trapezoid shape instead of the hourglass one we drew for the female. And little circle here. Then a smaller angle below their joints. Triangles for the field. And finally, the armless enjoins and triangles for the hand. They have to be all on the same level. I'll draw a quick head here too. Draw the neck now such that this binds. The male Nick is wider than females. Draw the shoulder too short. So I modified the base. In such oppose, the hand must be at the level of the top of the hip. Let's go back to the body. The mail body is not curvy like the females. Muscular as well. But actually, I'm not the best at drawing muscles. I mean at all. Anyway, draw the body while following the base. The arm stars thick and guests around the joint. Draw the hand. To be honest with you, I don't have much experience at drawing guys since I tend to prefer drawn girls most of the time. But I had promised myself to practicing good budget at this someday. You now draw the legs. Don't make them curvy. The leg is not very thin near the foot leg of the female. Draw these lines here to define the neck. Lastly, I'll draw us in. Now let's draw a view similar to what we did with the female. Draw a circle for a slightly closer to us. And this little circle here, slightly currently dangle lines and circles. Finally the arm lines and their joins. The left arm is closer to the bloody. Draw the head. I draw this quickly so I don't take too much time. Let you should take your time and not crush it. Draw the neck and shoulder. Then the buddy. Grow the arm. And they quickly, again, take your time and don't crash. You're not draw the legs is closer so it will be bigger than the last one. And this concludes with quick Los. Dro. Draw the circle. This circle. Then the leg lines and circled joins. Again. Just a little bit of the other leg shows here. Finally drawn inclined line for the shoulder. Then the online's encircle joints and the neck and neck line. Draw a line parallel to the shoulder line like we did with the female. Continued slight curves. No. Finally, we draw this is the same. The rest of the body. They just don't want to be done correctly. 18. Poses: Now let's draw some different poses. We also start withdrawing basis from the basic shapes we used earlier. Drawn poses is similar to the hand, is not hard, but it needs a lot of practice. And the best way to practice is by drawing a lot of bases or stigma. Drawing these figures doesn't take much time. So it's a great for quick daily practice. Take five minutes out of your day and practice thrown this. Also, it's very important to refer to real photos as references to draw the post correctly. Since as I said earlier, our imagination is limited and we always need to refer to the wall surrounding us. Also, one of the things I find really useful is watching other artists to draw, especially the professional ones. The more we watch and see how they do it, the more it will be imprinted in our minds and therefore will find it easier to do. And watching other artists to draw fills you with inspiration. And other important thing to do is to practice continuously so that your hand gets used to it. I'll draw several pauses here and I'll leave you to watch how I do them. You just need to play around with the basic shapes of the stick when we drew earlier. Try it as I do it. 19. Using DesignDoll for Poses: Now I'll introduce you to a really useful software. There's some of you might already know its name is designed all. With this software you can control don't models and make them do any pose you want. That's why it's very useful as an anatomy reference, especially when we want to draw poses that are hard to draw from imagination by itself. The software is free and can be downloaded on all of the following Windows versions. But I don't know if it's compatible with Mac iOS, since the website doesn't mention anything about that, you can buy the software for those three extra features, like molding your saved models. But I think that the free version is more than enough. We can download it from here. There is also a part of the site where you can find ready-made pauses uploaded by users. Those who buy the software, you can download and modify them. But I think it's useful even if we don't do that, since they can be used as a great references just by looking at them. Anyway, I left you the lengths of the two websites so you can check them off later. Now let's learn how to use the program designed donut has a lot of interesting features. I'll share with you the ones I tried and found useful. Firstly, this Rotate tool. By clicking it and moving the mouse, you can change your camera angle. The second is the Move tool. It allows you to move around like this. The third is the Zoom tool. For zooming in and out. You can use your mouse wheel to zoom quicker. The fourth is moving the camera as if you're looking through a lens like this. These tools here helping modifying the dose pause. When you click on the first tool, you'll see some squares and circles. This you can move the different body parts like u1 is better for you to try it so you know how it works exactly. When you modify the pulse, you will need to rotate your workspace frequently so you can place the parts in their desired base. If you click on the hands, feet, and head, you'll get the circles. They allow you to rotate the left and right and up and down. The second tool here lets you move the dog around to any spot you want. The third tool lets you modify the length and thickness of different body parts. With the fourth tool, you can change the appearance of the door, like the face shape and the torso and so on. With this, you can change the gender of the door from female to male and vice versa. For each feature you have a plus and minus sign. The more you move the slider towards the plus, the more this feature will be applied, you can apply several features at the same time. The fifth tool is for controlling the fingers. With these sliders, you can change how the finger is folded and how closely pack the fingers are. If you click this button here, you'll get a more advanced option to control the fingers. Here you can switch to the other hand. The sixth and last two is for controlling the toss. Again, if you click this button, you get a more advanced control option. Finally, if you want to add another DOT model like this button here than this one, you can rename your model lik Ok. This new dog will have the same toolbox as the previous one. So you can fully customize it in the same methods. Also, if you click this arrow here, you'll get more options. This button switches dose to a basic guidelines view, very useful for quick practice. And these options here let you change the color scheme of the dolls. And from here you can change the position of the light source. We can export an image file for the pose recreate. Go to File, Export flat image. Name your file, and enter the dimensions you desire. And click save to finish. I'll make a pose you're using design goal. Then use it as a reference to draw my character. Firstly, I'll change the door to a male. And now I'll modify the host to the one I want. You're going to see a lot of it is because we need to move every part of the body. Using this software needs some patients until you get the pose union with of course, the more frequently use it, the easier it will be. When you're done. Save two images, one with the original and the other with the basic. Now, place these two images in front of you as you draw. Of course you don't have to copy everything in a 100%. You're just looking to draw the pose as similar as possible. With digital art, you can draw directly over the dough, which is easier and quicker, and you can modify your lines as you want afterwards. However, I promised that I want to use any of the digital art features. So consider me drone on paper just like you. Usually I take an sketching. I keep raising and modifying until unconvinced with my sketch. Here I'm drawing quickly so we don't have a one hour long video. So please take your time and relax while drawing and add as much details as you want. That's all about it. I strongly recommend you try the software or any other reference material. It's extremely helpful for practicing. And you'll definitely get great results when you try them. 20. Girl Clothes: Tops: We'll start by drawing a button chert. First to draw the color, to curser around the neck. And two curves here. Then connect the ends of the lines to the middle. Add two little curves here to show how the cloth is surrounding the neck. Now draw this leaves. I'll draw slightly puffed ones. Draw the bottom part here. Don't call this lines. Instead, draw curves that cross the boundary. Continue drawing the shirt holds at the areas where the club is pulled in lines in the middle. I drew bigger folds here since the shirt Elizabeth lose at this area. Draw the bottom of the shirt like this. And draw this curvy line here, R1 following the body shape. Finally, add the buttons in a girl's shirt. The right side gets on top of the left side when the shortest button, while a guy's shirt is the opposite, the left side is on top. Now we'll draw t-shirt, draw a curve around the neck. And another curve. Draw the sleeves and cross the boundary of the arms and draw them like this poem, more natural look. Finally, as some big folds here, since the plus is loose. Let's draw a curve that follows the body shape and add whites traps. The shortest died. So draw a few lines to show how the club. Finally, with long sleeves, curves, since the close is loose. I think it's a clue for you. The lines we draw depend on how the club is. If you want to add some pattern, like strives, for example, don't draw straight lines, but draw the rest curves that follow the shape of the body. 21. Girl Clothes: Bottoms: We'll start by drawing genes, bands. Follow the lead lines you already drew near the food since the club gets cluttered down there. In this line here to give the genes Luke. Start by drawing creamy guidelines. Then add some more curves below lines. And add those lines here to show the structure of this current. Here we'll draw, draw curvy lines that we'll have a few folds here. And this line for the zip. Finally, draw curves that go along with the body lines. Lines in the middle. If you want to have the shirt inserted inside this curve, and it is the end of the shirt. And you draw it like this. 22. Girl Clothes: Dresses: I'll draw two kinds of dresses. The first is a title. Like if we've joined a shirt and skirt to make the same methods we used for drawing the shirt and spirit and add some falls at the waist. The second one is somehow freely sleeves. Under the chest. The dress falls this way by adding lines and draw little lines here to show how the club is. Cluttered. Dress is my favorite ones that I like to draw. It looks so cute. 23. Guy Clothes: Tops: We'll start with the color and the same previous method. You might want to leave the first button on button. Simple folds. Then this line here, notice how the left side comes on top of the button. You can ask some lines here. Start by drawing the sleeves. Continue drawing the shirt. Now. Draw the outer side and connect with the shirt. Now. Add some buckets here. Finally, a color. Don't forget the cleave here. Finally. 24. Guy Clothes: Bottoms: Slightly along these lines to show how the close. Don't forget. Now we'll do exist. Finally, for the normal. 25. Shoes: As for shoes, the first thing to do is draw in the foot base. Our GraphLab Hsu here. Draw curve at the top here, then Drucker's that follow the foot shape to a tiny yield here, continue drawing the shoes. Notice how it goes down to ground after the middle. Continue the rest part of the leg. At some lines here. As for high yield, the foot base is lifted from the bag and at a ground level at the front. Draw the heel like this. Again, follow the shape of the foot while drawing. Make sure to have both sides nest on the same level, which is the ground at the curve here for the open part of the shoe. And draw the leg. You can add a strip here depending on your preference. Now, another flat shoe type, draw the same base we drew earlier. And some details. I draw this type mostly for school girls and guys. Generally. We can convert this into a sport shoe. Is this, and add these lines. Draw the shoe lace as a straight line, then an x and so on. Or you can draw it in a different pattern since there are various ways to tie a shoe lace to make it cool. Normal shoes here. 26. Facial Expressions: Now is the fun part, facial expressions. We'll start with a normal smile. We can draw an open mouth. Secondly, a sad face. To show sadness. To make the expression sadder, bring the eyebrows are closer to the eyes. And if you wanted even sadder, ring to islets down and draw the eyebrows are closer to the eyes. Draw these lines here to show how the eyelid is slightly closer. He will draw a mad face. The ISR slant is well within the opposite side of the side expression. The eyebrows as well. Mostly. And make the eyebrows are closer. To make it more extreme. Draw at lunch def mouth. Give the eyebrows even closer and add some wrinkles here. You can also add anger mark. And you can close the eyes more at the bottom. And now we'll do a crying face, same as the set-based but with more curvy eyebrows. And if you close the eyes, the lines that indicate finally close the closer. You can also draw the mouth like this. Now, a poker face. Straight lines. The eyebrows and mouth are straight lines as well. We can have another poker face with closed eyes and diagonal eyebrows to show the character is. And now I surprised space. Draw the eyeballs small in size. The smaller you draw them, the more surprising expression is, the mouth is open and the eyebrows are raised. As Sharpton agonized face. Usually only the pupil is joining such expression. I mean, the mouth is slightly open. And these lines here, That's some blush lines. A sarcastic tongues sticking out face. Draw close eyes upwards. A curve for the mouth and the tongue. Finally, an extremely happy face. Draw a closed eyes upwards. Curved eyebrows. And they make love and mouth with some blush lines here. 27. Hairstyles: Girls: I'll start withdrawing. Swept to the left side of the character like the one I drew previously. Banks are of the same length. You can close them or leave them at the middle. Let's go back to the first bank. I'll draw upon it till here. Whenever the hair is pulled, you should add curves and lines in the direction that's both towards complete drawing the head. Draw the hair band, I'll draw a ribbon one here. You can also not draw one since if it's a small band, it won't show. Finally, draw the ponytail at the back. He will do a downward pigtails. You'll need the upper part empty. Now. Then draw the other side here. You can also add little strands. Let's draw a curly hair here. We can draw it in two different ways. The first is draw Kirby line, draw another curve you vine and connect them at the bottom. Add some hair details. The second way is imagine the current like a wire wrapped around the tube. Or imagine it as a spring. Draw the shape multiple times and add some details to it. Connect these slowly. One last clip. Behind. Here, we're going to draw a break. You can draw it by repeating this shape and add a hair band and the end of the hair and divide those shapes with lines like this. Or you can draw them like this, which is my favorite method, is similar to the previous shape book. More curvy, you can add a flowing strands to make it look more natural. Finally, draw the end of the hair. So let's draw a break for this current year. 28. Hairstyles: Guys: It doesn't come in as much variations. Short most of the time. I'll do here similar to the one I drew. Some flows in this direction. Banks almost all the same in the same way but make them curved in random directions. Finally, an odd-looking, but it does exist in is the extremely short gross malls exact line only. Continue their zigzag lines as you pull the head base. 29. Chibis (Miniature Characters): Gv is our small-sized characters. The smaller anchovy or they are the cuter they look. That's why they are drawn with completely unrealistic proportions. Start by drone an oval for the head. Lynn draw shaped similar to an egg for the torso. Rho, small hands, and small legs as well. Add another curve. Now draw the horizontal line. Almost half of the face is up to you. Finally. It's very helpful. I do. 30. Resources for Drawing: Everyone knows the first resource with no doubt Google website with simple keywords, you can find countless references. For example, if you search using poses word, you'll get a lot of helpful references. Our hands forehand poses. The second resource is designed or software we introduced earlier. This software is a lifesaver for renewed, can't get the post Right. So again, I strongly recommend you try it. The third is Pinterest website. It's the website for all kinds of pictures, but it has a lot of references and useful drone tutorials. Just type followed by anything you want. Then type tutorial. For example, an email eyes tutorial, tutorial, and so on. You're going to get a lot of useful references. The last resource is YouTube. For me, watching other artists syndrome is one of the most useful things that helped me improve. Even if you were just speed mains, you will definitely learn a thing or two from them. You can try my youtube channel here. I regularly upload speed maintenance, some tutorials, and you can also try other artists journals and leave you some links for the channels I find so inspiring and interesting to watch.
