Course Overview: Hey, guys, My name is Maggio sama, and I'm here to teach you how to use the extremely powerful adobe after effects to design animated futuristic had elements we're going to create together futuristic hut elements like this who can take this course Intermediate users of Adobe after effects who enjoy learning by doing intermediate users who want to learn how to use after effects to create creatures to cut animations like what you see in Star Wars. Iron Man on other action movies at the end of the scores, you'll acquire different and powerful skills to future is to cut animations from start to end all within after effects. You will learn some simple and cool after effects expressions, saving hours of animating time. You will learn some important adobe after effects. Shortcuts were faster. Animating. I'm looking forward to seeing you inside 2. HUD Element 1 : Preview The Final Project : Hey, guys, throughout this section, we are going to create together this animated features to can't element. Now let's dive right into the next lecture to get started, so I'll feel there. 3. HUD Element 1 : Create Animated Circles: Hey, guys will come back. So in this lecture will start working on our first hard element that you have seen in the preview in the previous lecture. So here we are in after effects. Let's sit control or command, and to create a new composition. I'll call it had Element one. I'm using the full HD 10 80 preset with 30 frames per second and 10 seconds long, then click. OK, now I'll turn on the title action Save grid from here, then go to the tools bore. Then here in the shape tools, Select the Al Apps Tool. Then I'll come here in our composition panel. Click on this center point and drag while holding shift control or command to create a perfect circle like this and then release. Now let's go to our creative shape player here in our timeline. Open up, Alex. One. Then here we are going to select the foe and delete it. Now open up, stroke one and change its color by clicking on this color swatch all sided toe a blue color , for instance, as this one, so I'll leave it as is then click OK, now let's set the stroke with here to seven pixels. Okay, great. Now select the shape layer and align it horizontally and vertically to the center using the Align panel. Also said the anchor point to the middle, using the move Anchor Point panel. Now let's rename this layer to outline, so select the layer hit return on keyboard type in outline, then hit Return again now duplicated by hearing control or command E, then hit us on keyboard to get this kid control and scale it down toe about 88% now. So let this outline layer and again duplicated by hearing control or command Z, I will rename this too thick line, so hit return on keyword type and thick line, then hit Return again. Now hit us on keyboard to get this gear control and scale it down to 94%. Now let's increase the stroke with 2 36 pixels, Then open it up. Now go to the add button here, where you will find a set of effects. Apply on shape players in after effects. If you want to go deep into every effect here, learn what each will do in details. You can check out my master shape players Essentials for beginners. Course. Okay, now here also looked trim path briefly Trim path can trim the path off your shape, either from its start or in point. So here all said the stored value to 72. And now, as you can see here, we've got a nice, thick line between our two outlines here. Now select this thick line layer and hit are on keyboard. To get the rotation control, hold down alky and quick on the stopwatch beside rotation. This will open up a text field here where we are going to type in an expression. So what is an expression in after effects after effects is a great tool for prototyping you , I animations, but we are always looking for ways to speed up our work. Full after effects comes with support for expressions, which create relationships between layer properties or key frames so the designer can animate layers without defining each Cree frame by hand. Adobe based their expression language on Java script. Toby typed in the text field, opened here, so here I'll start typing an expression called Wiggle, then open Prentice ease. Then we have two things to put in here. The 1st 1 is intensity comma, and the 2nd 1 is how much pixels you wanted to ago random, then closed parentheses. So these are two parameters that we have to put in here to get this to work. So here, I'm gonna put one as the first parameter, and I'll put 100 in the second parameter. Now click anywhere outside the text field here toe. Apply expression. So if we click on the ramp review now, you would see that the rotation off this sick line is wiggling 100 pixels back and forth with an intensity off. One great moving on. Let's duplicate this thick line layer by selecting it on heading control or command. Z then had are on keyboard to get the rotation control and said the angle to 163.2 degrees . Now open up this thick line to layer. Open up the continent's, then go to trim path and set the stored value to 91%. No, let's run. Preview this and see what we have so far. Perfect. Now we have these outlines, with those declines randomly wiggling in the next lecture, we're going to proceed with the second Port of designing and any meeting Our first hard element. HUD Element 1 : Create Animated Dashed Circles & Add More Circles: Hey, guys, in this lecture, we are proceeding with designing and animating our first hard element. So first thing I'll do here is that I don't go to the tools bore. Then in the shape tools. I'll select the rectangle to I'll go here suddenly stroke to none by clicking on the words to then click on none here and then click. OK, now I'll click on drag on my composition and draw a small line like this. Now, as I'm selecting the shape player, I'll online it horizontally through the center using the online panel. Now I'll go to the add button for this shape, layer and select repeater, and what repeater does Basically, it repeats are shape, as you can see here. So here, I'll open up repeater one, and I'll increase the number of copies here to 67. I'll open up Transformer Peter one and send their rotation to six degrees, then set the X value off this position here to zero. So now we have got this nice, abashed circle here. Now let's make the dash is thinner, so open up rectangle one, then rectangle path one, and I'll uncheck the Kanis Train Proportion Control here, then set the X value to 3.4, and suddenly why value to 19 then recheck The Kanis train Proportion control Now hit are on keyboard To get the rotation control 70 time indicator at the beginning of our timeline, click on the stopwatch beside rotation, then go to seven seconds and said the rotation value here to four x and this will make it rotate four full rotation cycles. Now let's rename this layer to dash circle, so select the layer and had returned on keyboard type and that circle, then hit, Returned again. Now duplicated by other control or command E then hit us on keyboard to get this kid control and scale it down to 57%. Now open it up. Open up contents, then go to rectangle one. Go to Rick Tangle path one. Uncheck the constrain proportions control here, then said the X value to 21.4 and the Y value to four. Now open up repeater one and said the number of copies here to 21. Then go to a transformer Peter one and said the rotation to 28 degrees. Now let's click on the ramp Review and see what we have so far. Okay, moving on select outline to layer here, duplicate by hitting control or command Z, then hit us on keyboard. To get this, keep control and suddenly scale value to 33%. Change its stroke color toe white and now duplicate this one by hitting control or command V then hit us on keyboard to get the skill control and said the skill value to 12. Said the stroke with 2 29 and I will change this true color as well. Now select this thick line to layer duplicated by hitting control or command E. Then drag thick line three. Layer up and place it here. Now hit us on keyboard together, the scale control and scale it down to 22%. Now open the top. Go to contents Ellipse one. Then go to Trim Path one and 70 Storen Valley to 17 and I'll also change its stroke color and said the stroke with 29 pixels. Now let's click on the ground preview and see what we have so far. I'm looking forward to seeing you extractor. 5. HUD Element 1 : Add Animated Lines, Adjust The Colors & Finalize Your Project: Hey, guys will come back in this lecture. We are proceeding the final part of designing our first animated hard element. So first thing I'll do here is that I'll go to the Tools Bar, select the pen troll. I'll go up here in the middle of my shape, make one click here, then hold down shift key and make another click here. And this will create a straight line, as you can see here now, so loved the shape layer. Rename it two lines, so hit return on keyboard type in lines, then hit. Return again. Align horizontally to the center using the Align panel, then change it stroke color to this blue one and send the stroke with 23 pixels. Now open up the lines layer, go to an and select a repeater. Open a pre Peter one, then set the number of copies to five. Now go to transform repeater one and set the X value off the position to zero. Also, all said the rotation to 45 degrees. So here we have a nice equally distributed lines. Now select the lines layer and had tea on keyboard together, the opacity control said the opacity value to 30% and drag it down here to the bottom of our timelines. Tack now select. Outline an outline two layers and duplicate them by hearing control or command Z. Drag them down here, then hit us on keyboard together, the scale control said the skill value off outlining 6 to 54 and then send the skill value off outline 5 to 66%. Now select them both on a T on keyboard to get the opacity control and set it to 30%. Now let's click on the ramp review and see what we have so far. Okay, great. So far, so good. Now moving on. Let's select this thick line to duplicated by hitting control or Command Z. Now open up a sick line for go to contents. Go to Al Apps one. Then in this choke one, said the stroke with two 322. Now select this thick line foreign layer and had tea on keyboard to get the opacity control and set it to 30%. Now let's go. Come the ramp review and see what we have so far. Perfect. Now I'll turn off the title action Safe Grid because I no longer needed. So last thing will do here is that we need to add a final touched our element here in order to stand out as a hunt element. And we will do this by adding an adjustment layer. So right click here new UN select adjustment layer. So what is an adjustment layer when you apply an effect toe unordinary layer the effect effects on lee that layer and no others. However, an effect can exist independently if you create an adjustment layer for it. Any effects applied toe on adjustment player affect all layers below it in the composition stacking order. So an adjustment layer at the bottom of the stacking order has no visible effect. And because adjustment layer effects applied toe always beneath them, they are useful for applying effects too many layers at once and in all other aspects on adjustment layer behaves exactly like other layers. So, for example, you can use key frames with an adjustment layer property. You could also rename the layer. You can create masks on adjustment layers as well. Okay, great. Now moving on, I'll go to the effects and presets panel and search for an effect called Glow Dragon. Drop it onto the adjustment layer. So as you can see here, once I have added glow onto the adjustment layer, it applied the effect on all those layers bloat. But if I drag it down here, it will be invisible. Okay, so let's place it back up here, then go to the effects settings panel said the glow threshold to 34 and something close radius to 29. Now let's click on the ramp preview to see our final result. Perfect. So now we have this nice and wonderful glowing hot element I hope you're enjoying so far. Now let's dive right into the next lecture to get started, so I'll feel there. 7. HUD Element 2 : Create Animated Bars: Hey, guys will come back in this lecture. We'll start working together on creating the animated bar chart that you have seen in the preview in the previous lecture. So let's get started. First thing I'll do here is that all had control or command and on keyboard to create a new composition. I'll call it had element to thank. Look OK now, in order to get precise results, I'll turn on the title Safe Action group here, in addition to the ruler. All drag one line from the left and place it here and drag another one from top. I'm place it here. Now I'll go to the tools bore. Select the rectangle Tool said this drug to none and the film to a solid color. Then change the color toe the one you want. Now I will click on drag on my composition to draw our first bar like this. Then I'll go to the shape player on our timeline. Open rectangle one. Go to a rectangle path one, then unchecked. The Kanis Train proportion here and said the X value to 57.3 and the Y value to 588 now, using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Place it on top of our ruler line here, then recheck the Kanis train proportion. Now let's select the shape layer and duplicated by hitting control or command Z. Select the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right, using the right arrow on your keyboard, then selected and hit us on keyboard to get this skill control unchecked, the con astray in proportion here. Then suddenly, why value to 76.6. Now recheck the con a stream proportion and using the arrow keys on your keyboard, place it on their ruler line here and also left the shape layer on, duplicated by in control or command Z. Select the newly created copy and drag it over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard to get this kill control unchecked, the con astray in proportion here, then said the Y value to 82.2. Now recheck the con a strain proportion. Place it on the ruler line here. Now select the shape layer and duplicated by hitting control or command e. Select the newly created copy and drag it over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard to get this kill control. Uncheck the Kanis train proportion. Then suddenly, why value to 59.5. Now we check the Kanis train proportion. Place it on the ruler line here. Now select the shape layer and duplicated by hearing control or command e. Select the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right. Then hit us on keyword. To get this kill control, uncheck the Kanis train proportion, then said the Y value to 40.5. Place it on the ruler line here. Now recheck the Kanis train proportion and also let the shape layer and duplicated by hearing control or command Z select the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard. To get this kill control, uncheck the Kanis train proportion said the Y value to 81.1. Place it on the ruler line here, recheck the constraint proportion, and also let the shape layer and duplicated by hitting control or command e So, like the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard To get this kill control, uncheck the Kanis train proportion here set the Y value to 66.7. Pull. Is it on the ruler line? Here we check the con astray proportion. Now select the shape player and duplicated by heading control or command V. Select the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard to get this kid control, uncheck the con extreme proportion. Then said the Wye Valley to 25.2. Place it on the ruler line. Here, recheck the Kanis train Proportion now last one. Select the shape layer and duplicated by hearing control or command Z. Select the newly created copy and dragged over here to the right, then hit us on keyboard to get this skill control unchecked, the Kanis tree in proportion and suddenly why value to 72.1. Place it on the ruler line. Here. Now recheck the con. A stream proportion. Great. So now we have a total off nine bars here on our composition. Now let's start any meeting this. So here I'll go to the effects and presets panel and search for, in effect, called a linear white dragon. Drop it onto our first shape player here then in the effect setting spinal, we will animate the transition completion field. But we don't want it to be animated like this. So first let's said the angle here to 1 80 degrees. Now this is what we want. So now, So, like this effect, copy it by her in control or command. See then select all those layers here on our timeline and pasted by hearing control or command V. Now here we will animate the transition completion field so we can have our desired results . So here I'll drag my time indicator toe one second and seven frames. Select the shape player, set the transition completion value 200 click on the stopwatch, decided, then go to three seconds and 14 frames. Then said the transition completion value to zero. Now for the 2nd 1 here, I will do this same thing. Yet I will set different timings, calming the first key frame at one second, 18 frames and the 2nd 1 ad three seconds and 27 frames the 3rd 1 Here. I'll make the first key frame at one second and 23 frames on the 2nd 1 at four seconds and 11 frames, the 4th 1 I'll make the first key frame to second and four frames on the 2nd 1 at four seconds and 24 frames the 5th 1 I'll make the first key frame at two seconds and nine frames and the 2nd 1 at five seconds on three frames than these 61 I'll make the first key frame at two seconds and 14 frames and the 2nd 15 seconds and 13 frames. Next, the 7th 1 I'll make the first key frame at two seconds and 19 frames and the 2nd 1 at five seconds and 23 frames the 8th 1 Here. I'll make the first key frame of two seconds and 24 frames on the 2nd 1 at six seconds and seven frames, Then last one here the 9th 1 I'll make the first key frame at two seconds and 29 frames and the 2nd 1 at six seconds and 18 frames now select all layers and hit you on keyboard. To get all key frames, select these key frames and add easy, easy out. Great. Now let's quick on the ramp review and see what we have so far. First now select all those shape players and pre composed them by hearing control or command shift. See, I'll call it bars. Make sure you select Movil attributes. Option here, then click. Ok, Wonderful. So now we have enemy two bars in the next lecture, we're going to create the X and Y axis here. Thank you so much for watching. I'm looking forward to seeing you next lecture. 8. HUD Element 2 : Create Animated X & Y Axis: Hey guys, in this lecture, we will proceed with creating our HUD more toward here. So first thing I'll do here is that I'll go to the Tools Bar, So let the pencil to draw our X and Y axes a year. I will move out the ruler lines here because I no longer needed It's all. Make one click here, hold down shift key, then make another quick here. Keep holding shift key and make a mother click here. Now go to the timeline, Open up continents, then go to shape one. Select the fell and hit delete now set a color to the stroke and set its with value to about five fixes. Now let's create another line here. It's all selected pen tool. I will make one click here, hold down shift key and make another click here Now to this one. Let's set at the stroke with 2 44 pixels. Now open up, she player, too. Contents shape one. Then go to stroke one and now here in dashes. Click on this plus icon twice, then said the dash value here to seven on the gap to 99. Now place it here using the arrow keys like this. Great. Now we have X and y axis year, so let's any maintenant. So here I will select both shape players, Then go to the add button here. Select trim path, then open up trim pot said the end value to zero. Now drag my time indicated the beginning of our timeline. Quick on the stopwatch beside and select both layers and hits you to get key frames. Now go to one second and 23 frames, then Sethi and value off shape layer two year 200. Then go to three seconds and 28 frames and Sethi and value off shape layer 1 200 Now select both off these key frames and add Eazy E's out. Now let's click on the ramp review and see what we have so far. Perfect. So now we have a nice any mated bars with X and Y axis. So here's elect those shape players and pre composed them by hitting control or command shift. See, I'll call it axes. Make sure you select movil attributes option, then click. OK, great. We will proceed with a final port of our hardboard chart here. So first thing on two years is that I'll go to the Tools Bar and select the text tool are just the phone color, size and type according to profess, using the character panel quick on your composition on time. 10. Voice it over here like this. Now duplicate this number by selecting the layer and hitting control or command Z place. It's here, then double quick on the text player and type 20. Keep repeating the step until your reach. 70. Here. Great now let's any meat boost numbers first. Also looked all those layers and hit t on keyboard to get the plastic control, said the time indicator that we're getting of our timeline for number 70 Ill said the opus . Devalue to zero. Click on the stopwatch beside this opacity control for number 70 then go to nine frames and said the opacity Value 200 now go to seven frames said the opacity value to zero for number 60 quick on the stopwatch beside it, then go to 16 frames and said the opacity value 200. For a number 50 year, I'll go to 14 frames, said the opacity value to zero. Click on the stopwatch beside it, then go to 23 frames and said the opacity value 200. Then for number 40 I'll go to 21 Frames said. The opacity value to zero could come the stopwatch beside it, then go to one second and said the opacity value 200 next. Number 30. I'll go to 28 frames, said the opacity volley to zero. Click on the stopwatch beside it, then go to one second and seven frames and said the opacity value 200 now for number Twain , I'll go to one second and five frames, said the opacity. Value to zero. Click on the stopwatch beside it didn't go to one second and 14 frames and said the opacity value 200. Then last one here number ton go to one second and 12 frames. I'll send the opus development to zero quick on the stopwatch beside opacity, then go to one second and 21 frames and said the opacity value 200 now select these key frames by holding down shift and selecting each, then right, click and select Easy, easy out Great. Now let's click on the ramp review and see what we have so far. First, now select those text players and pre composed them by hearing control or command shift. See, I'll call it numbers. Make sure you select Movil attributes. Option here, then click. OK, perfect. Now let's give it the futuristic had look all right. Click here and select new adjustment layer. Then go to the effects of presets panel and search for Globe drag and drop it onto that adjustment layer. And in the effects settings panel said the glow threshold to 34 on Sunday Glow radius to 29 . Wonderful. So now we are done with our second animated hard element, which is this nice boy chart I hope you're enjoying so far. HUD Element 3 : Preview The Final Project: Hey, guys, throughout this section, we are going to create together this animated features to can't element. Now let's dive right into the next lecture to get started, so I'll feel there. 11. HUD Element 3 : Create a Simple & Clean Spining Earth Futuristic HUD Element: Hey, guys will come back in this lecture. We're going to create together our third futuristic had element that you have seen in the previous lecture, which is a spinning earth. So first thing I'll do here is that all had control or command and to create a new composition. I'll call it futuristic. Odd Element three. Then click. OK, now I'm going to import an image to the world map, so I'll go to the project panel double quick, select the image to import now. Dragon dropped the image onto our timeline here, but just it's kill if needed. In my case, all scale it down a bit. Now I'll go to effects and presets panel and search for, in effect, cold fill applied to the image layer. Then, in the effects setting spinal, I'll change the color from here. In my case, all started to this blue color. Then click OK, now I'll be composed this image layer by selecting it and hidden control or command shift. See, I'll call it Earth. Make sure select Movil attributes option here, then click. OK, now I'll go to the effects and peace. That's panel and search for an effect called cc sphere dragon, Drop it onto the earth composition. Then in the effects settings panel said the radius to about 403. Now I'll open up the lighting here, said the light intensity to about 62. Change the light color to the same color of the film.
