1. Course Trailer: Have a friend, Abishek,
who lives in India. He was working as a delivery
boy for a local restaurant in India because he came from an extremely
poor background. Now, he wanted to be a motion
designer who is well paid, just like you, but
he had two issues. One, he had a four GB laptop that barely ran after
effects and two. YouTube confused him with all the different
tutorials and techniques, so he wasn't able to make good
animation and get clients. When I met him while traveling, he was completely
broke and clueless. I mean, this is
what he made even after three months of learning after
effects from YouTube. He was having really hard
time with animation. That's when I calmed him down, and I, with my friends, created a method to learn after effects without
wasting any time. In the next few weeks, we taught him the
method which we now call after
effects blueprint. After applying after
effects Blueprint, a bishek who used to
be a delivery boy got paid $100 for this project. Went from here to here
in a matter of weeks. Believe it or not, he made
all this in a four GB laptop. I don't even want to know how long it must have
taken him to render this. As of today, Abishek is
no longer a delivery boy. He is running his own
small animation studio, and he has high power PC and a laptop that he bought
with his own money. All this was possible because he followed a
system to learn after effects without getting
lost in those tutorials where every channel or new teacher teaches
you different things. And more importantly,
he never had the mindset for making
money with animation. I want to tell you
the truth out loud. If you aren't making money
as a motion designer, then it is your
hobby, not a skill. This course is for anyone who
is tired of learning after effects without having
any career or clients. This course is for anyone
who wants to learn after effects and motion design
as quickly as possible. Also, this course doesn't
offer any tutorial, as there are plenty
on the Internet. This course offers a system
to learn after effects as quickly as possible. Okay.
2. Class Project: For the class project
you how to create an animated visiting
card like this, but it must be made
with your last work. Now if you are a
complete beginner and you don't have any work, just make something
for yourself, but make it quickly
so that you can upload an introduce yourself at the beginning and make
sure that you add all the details as shown here.
3. Two Problems You will face: Every beginner in animation
faces two major challenges. Now these challenges
are so complex that the beginners make
with because of them. Now let's understand
them one-by-one. So the first challenge
is to overcome the confusion of
the Internet when it comes to learning
After Effects. Why? Because every YouTube video shows you a different way
of doing the same thing. And the truth is that
after effects already is a challenging software
to learn as a beginner. And the abundance of
these different tutorials only adds to the
difficulty. Now e.g. you can achieve mats in multiple ways in After
Effects when gentle may use masks or they may
use Alpha mates and someone may even
use blending mode. Now this will give
you the same result, but this may end up
confusing a beginner. Second, you have to
face hard reality, and that is tutorials and
even most courses that you see do not train you and prepare you for
real life projects. The left projects and
tutorials are way different. Yes, you heard that, right? The left projects are
complex, time-consuming, and most of the time they
are difficult to achieve. If you sincerely want to make money by doing
what you love. And the fourth step is
to dawn What do you load into a skill
that you can sell? Now, this course provides
you with the fourth step. It helps you learn after
effects without any confusion.
4. Ae Blueprint Explained!: People that succeed at
motion design and people that failed both
have the same goals. They want to get good clients
and make lots of money. But not everyone is
going to succeed in this because girls don't matter
if you don't have system. Now After Effects,
blueprint provides a three-step system that can
help you achieve two things. One, learning hard
things fostered, and to producing animations
with greater efficiency. I think these two points
are the foundations of becoming a highly
bade motion designer. Now, let me break down After
Effects blueprint for you. Step one, habits. Now, if you want to become
an expert motion designer, then you need to help and
develop certain habits. I mean, it's obvious, this step shows you the
habits that you can adopt easy that will make a huge
difference in your career. Step two framework. Now the framework gives you a system for learning
After Effects, including things you must
master and not ignored, and things that you
shouldn't worry about. The framework also provides basic steps for producing
motion graphics quickly. Remember, and I want
you to tattoo this on your forehead that your clients don't pay you for your passion. Your clients pay you for the production and value
you bring to them. Step three is mindset. Some people believe
that creativity comes from your
software expertise. Now, if that was true, everyone using the same software would create the same thing. Mindset is the reason
why two people using the same software to
create different results. Some people come up
with creative ideas, while others create
mediocre stuff. In this section, we
will also cover how to get clients as a big enough. While it may sound boring, and I don't blame you
if, if it sounds boring, but if you apply the system
of After Effects blueprint, I promised your life
will never be the same. You will be way ahead of the crowd because
you don't get lost. You have a clear path
for your career.
5. Habits for Animation Skills-1: If your dream to become
an awesome motion, design it and make
good money with it, then let me tell you a secret. You must done your passion into a skill that you can sell. Now, in this chapter, we will go through some habits that will help you turn your
passion into a skill. I have divided animation
habits into two categories. One is primary habits, and the second one is
the secondary habits. The primary habits are
the habits that will impact your performance
as a motion designer. Secondary habits are the
habits that will impact your career and the amount
of money you make directly. Now of course it
goes without saying, but you don't have to
pick all the habits, habits that you feel
like the right ones. Okay, so let's get
started with number one, keep an animation journal. Now as you start
learning animation from courses or
YouTube tutorials, break it down in clear steps. And as you move on animating, keep on noting down these steps. Now I know this may sound
like a lot of work, but it is a lifesaver
and I'm going to give you a few reasons
why this is a lifesaver, okay, so the first one
is that it saves time. And here is how,
let's say you saw a tutorial on an effect
called a roughen edges. And now you are
working on a project that needs the same effect. Now, if you have
written it down, all you need to do is go through the steps in
your animation journal. Meanwhile, for a tutorial, you have to find the right
one and then scroll there. And then you have
to switch between browser and After Effects. Can you see the difference?
I'm sure you can. The second reason is that
when you write things down or even when you
type things down, you will remember
things posture. You might not even need
to look in your journal. How it number two,
is visualization. I'm sure you must be
scratching your head. What is visualization? So the research has proven that all the world-class athletes and other peak performers
use visualization. Visualization is a
practice where you imagine yourself performing
activity like you want. So basically, our
minds cannot tell a difference between
imagination and reality. I'm sure you have
experienced this, right? So in your dreams, you believe that your
dream is reality, but when you wake
up you realize, Oh, that was just a dream. So if you imagine you
are good at something, you will start
getting good at it. Now, we can use this principle
in animation as well. So before you start
your animation or even turn on your computer, sit in front of the screen. Close your eyes and
imagine that you are doing really
well as an animator. Now if you are
working on a project, imagine the final animation. Imagine happy clients. If you are working for them. Once you feel it
and see it vividly, open your eyes and start
if you're skeptical, and I know some of you are Google visualization
and peak performance. I promise you will
be blown away by it. Don't take my word for it. Google it. Habit number
three, creating strategy. Now, before you begin
animating your projects, always create a rough
thumbnails in your notebook. Now you don't have to be a professional just to
make it for yourself. Once you make
thumbnails for scenes, you will be able to see how objects are,
characters are moving. Now from these thumbnails, you will be able to
create strategy. Now a strategy is a
set of steps that you will take to finish
the project on a scene. Now just a little bit of warning before I give you a
detailed example. If you are a beginner, this may sound too complex. What I want you to see and understand what clarity
can do for you. So here is an example. Now, Abishek created
this as his project. I hope you remember him. He is from the intro we can have here is what he did first. He sketched to the steps in
a pretty rough way on paper. Now as you can tell,
he's no painter. I can barely read
what he has written, but I can tell what he wants. Second, he broke
down steps on paper. So here is what I mean. So we have six thumbnails
here and here. What he will do for
each of them, e.g. here he wrote scale
down yellow solid and then replace it with
the same size of rectangle. Then he rode create a path
for the rectangle and use the equal effect to give
more to the motion. I don't know what
does that mean? And replace it with a
pen tool at peak speed. Now use the graph editor
to decide the peak speed. Here he wrote, now break all letters in two
separate layers and then find a way to make the
letter appear one by one. Then place the pen tool
where those letters are. The pen tool becomes the box to the
position and emission. Now these are the steps
that he has written. And I'm sure that you
can tell by now that almost 50 per cent job is
done because of the clarity. This is what clarity
can do for you. Of course, as a beginner, you may not have any idea
on how to create the steps. But don't worry,
just like Abhishek, by the end of this course, you will be able to make
your moon strategy. I promise. Now of course it
goes without saying, but for complex project
strategies becomes more complex. But this idea gives you
clarity like no other. Also, I have to point this out. If you develop this habit
in a really positive way, like you can draw your
thumbnails very clearly. You will be hired really quickly compared to the people
who can't draw, you will be at an advantage. And especially if you can create strategy with thumbnails. Oh my God, you are going
to get hired quickly.
6. Habits for Animation Skills-2: Secondary habits
are the habits that will impact your
animation code yet, and the amount of
money that you make. Directive, habit number
one, regular practice. I mean, come on, it's obvious, but without the daily
practice of animation, you are not going to try, especially in the
beginning, it's a must. Most people begin by
watching a random tutorial. Well, everyone
begins with YouTube, but the first thing after that is to develop fundamentals. So set aside at least 1 h daily
to practice fundamentals. Now, more on fundamentals
in the framework section. Habit number to communicate, find the best
animators, studios, and potential clients, then
communicate with them. Yes, you heard that, right? Even if you are a beginner, start making a list
of potential clients. Say hi to the pitcher, ideas to clients and
ask animators and studios for some tips and
jobs if you need any, if you are capable
of doing that. Now this habit is going to be the most uncomfortable one
and most difficult one to develop for some
because it comes with fear of rejection
and low self-esteem. Now getting clients is
extremely important. I mean, what's the
use of your skills? If you can even land a client? Who are you going to use your skills for if
you can't deliver your service or
if you can't find someone to deliver
your services to. So this is why
getting in that zone, where do you think
about getting clients, even when you don't know this software is
really important. Selling is the most
uncomfortable part of animation. That's why nobody
teaches it to you, everyone P tissue the tutorials, but nobody gives this
information. Why? Because it's not easy,
and more importantly, it's uncomfortable yet it is the most rewarding
habit you can adopt. So every week connect
with one client at least are list of glands. Habit number three, stay organized and emitters
could be messy. And now I say this
with all due respect, but if you want a fulfilling
career than you must stay organized both in your
life and on your computer. So the first thing that
you should always do is to have an organized desk? I do. I just said it. Yes. Organize your desk every
single day before you start working and then organize your
projects in efficient way, we add an emitter. So it says, use Notion
for organizing, communicating, and
creating stuff. Notion is a lifesaver. If you are a complete beginner, this is how to organize. First, you have to create a
list for potential clients. I already said that create a project database that
includes clients, names, project deadlines, and
expenses after that create board for each personal
project in your database. Now this includes thumbnails, scripts, voiceovers, et cetera. Basically collect all
the things in Notion so that you can access
them anywhere you are. You don't need
your computer with you all the time after that. Number four is to
collect references, inspirations, and
notes on one board. We have too many
options these days, like that is dribble than
Pinterest and be hands. So what happens is you collect inspiration on every site and then you may never see them. After that, collect
important tutorials, tips, and courses on one board. Number six is to
collect an upload all the official
documents on one board, then collect important
template links in one book. Templates are really important. You don't have to do
everything on your own. So make sure that you
make a list of templates. And the last one is to track
your progress on one board
7. Mastering Animation:Graph, Rigging, & 12 Principles: This section will
provide you with simple ways to learn
after effects and produce animation
quickly without getting lost or overwhelmed. Now sometimes you'll
see a new script or cool tutorial and you start
wasting your time on it, even when you don't need it. Now at times after effects may feel dove,
uninteresting or scary. Now, this may cause you to fear some tools and techniques. Now, in this course, we do things differently. I'm sure you are aware of that. We face our fears forced and now we're going to
overcome this fear and improve our skills
by facing things that most beginners
might ignores. And this results in
mediocre animation career. You don't want it that you
must face your fears first. Okay, so the first thing
that every beginner might ignore is Graph Editor. Graph Editor is basically a controller of
motion that allows you to create motion that looks realistic
and professional. Now Graph Editor gives you more control than just
those key frames. I've noticed that many teachers
and even YouTube channels fail to show how important and powerful
graph editor really is. Mustering graph editor will take your motion to new heights. The second one is my
personally hated technique, and that is character digging. I hate it. It's a monotonous
and tedious task. It takes practice,
reel practice. And if you mess
little thing here and that you might have to
redo the entire thing. But I realized that
it's an essential part of learning animation and
you should realize that too. So don't slip on
character rigging. It's not as fun as
character animation. Finally, the third one is the
12 principles of animation. Now so many beginners
may not even know such principles even exist. Learning these principles
is super easy, but executing them is
a different story. Now, if you want to become
an expert at an emission, then you must learn
these principles. I cannot exaggerate how important these
principles really are. Now you must face this uncomfortable
things and guess what? When you face them, everything else becomes easy, really easy?
8. 90 Days Of Ae: Day 1-60: The main part of
the framework is 90 days off After Effects. This 90 days are
divided into two parts. One of them is learning phase, and the other one is
the production phase. Learning is great and
I'm sure you low lawn, but it must be balanced
with production. Most people spend the majority
of their time on learning. And the question is not
how much do you know? The real question is, how much do you apply an
execute, what you learn? Most importantly, if you
don't practice Production, you are going to have a hard
time with clients. Why? Because learning doesn't
prepare you for clients. Some clients can be difficult, some projects can be difficult, and you have to realize
this as soon as possible. And lastly, I want
you to remember this. Your clients don't pay
you for your passion. They pay you for the production and the value you bring to them. Anyways, here are the 90
days of After Effects. So first of all, we're going
to see days one to 60, which is a learning phase. So there is one to 60 or the
toughest days as a beginner, this is going to
be a tough time. So the first thing that you must learn is the fundamentals. Learn the basics
of After Effects, like how all these tools work. Learn tools to create basic shape layers
and animate them. Learn to use texts layers
and its basic animation. And learn how to use
transplant properties. Learn how to set up a workspace, learn how to rename, learn how to use effects. One of the key stuff here is
also how to create graphics. Remember, it's called motion
graphics for a reason. So graphics are important. Now for beginners,
you must be able to create graphics
in Illustrator, separate layers, and save
a file for animation. Now of course, every
beginner can't draw, so that is a useful website
called free pig darker, but you have to learn to separate layers in
Adobe Illustrator. That's the one thing
that you must learn. Now in the PDF that is
included with this course, you will find all the tutorials
related to the topic. So don't worry about that. Now, you may be thinking, this seems like a lot to learn. So why should I even start? I would suggest
buying a course for fundamentals of After Effects. Like I already said, YouTube is great,
but it is a mess. Don't fall for it. And Jake in motion is my favorite teacher, and all of his classes
are fantastic, is glass on After Effects
fundamentals is a must for you. And of course, I'm
not sponsored, are connected to
Jake in any way. I just consider him
to be the one of the best teachers
on After Effects. Number two is graph editor. Once you learn the fundamentals, jump into Graph Editor, just take a look at how things are to give you the basic ideas. There are two types of graphs. One of them is speed graph and the other one is value graph. Now speed graph helps you change the speed of the object
on the property. Value graph helps you change
the value of the property. Both graphs are equally
good and important. And what I've noticed
is that most YouTube channels uses Speed
Graph because well, they need to get
things done faster. But I suggest you
use both of them. Now of course, you
won't be able to master them in our day,
it will take time. Now, key things to remember
when you use graph editor. This first and important skill
to develop is predicting the motion by just looking
at the graph and vice-versa. Second, in value graph,
steepness equals speed. Steeper the curve
faster. The object. Number three in Speed Graph, higher equals speed, higher
the curve faster the object. Now number three,
is to learn and master at least two
principles of animation. As I said earlier, principles of animation are inevitable. So go through all 12 of them
and know the basics of it. So Allan Bakke,
credit on YouTube, has provided all
the 12 principles of animation on his
YouTube channel. I will provide
that link as well. We'll get the good news
is that you don't have to master all, dwell on them. Now, just begin with two of the most important
principles that could really make
your work stand out. And they are, the
first one is followed through and the second
one is squash and stretch
9. 90 Days Of Ae: Day 60-90: Now we are in the most
uncomfortable yet fun phase of framework, and that is production. The reason why we included
production is that beginners spend the majority
of their time load knee, and when they get hired, they don't have the
practice of production. Now this will end up in burnout. This chapter will make
you a production beast. That's why I want you
to remind two things. First, that time that is
given is a preparation time. And the second one is that makes sure that you record time for each step so that it
prepares you to meet deadlines. You'll you'll see what
I'm talking about. So days 60 to 90. Now your true battle
begins when you learn after effects because no
one teaches you production. So I have created a
basic framework for production that you can apply to practice producing
motion graphics. Step one will take
five to 10 min. So in the field of
four-step you how to find inspiration or an
idea to animate. As a beginner, you help to keep things as simple as possible. Don't go overboard. This is not a race. You have to go easy on yourself, pick one idea and
just go with it. You have to kill your
perfectionism here. Step two will take
five to 10 min. Remember that primary habit
from animation habits, it was drawing thumbnails. Here, draw rough thumbnails, show how the object
moves innovate, acting like now, the
animation is too simple, e.g. it's just a wiggly animation. You how to draw thumbnail. Step three might
take five-minutes. In this step, you have
to create a strategy. As a motion designer, I can not exaggerate enough
how important this skill is. It will not only save you time, but it will save you from the pitfalls you face
during production. Now as a beginner, you
might struggle with this, but plan something you
don't have to be accurate, but you have to take the
steps. Now, step forward. We'll take ten to 20 min. Now here you have to create
illustration in Illustrator, or you can use Shape
layers in After Effects. All you can download illustration from the
three big.com, okay? But after you have downloaded, you have two separate layers. Step phi 30 to 60 min. This is going to be
your favorite step. Why? Because we are going
to animate things now. Use imported layers, are created layers and get your
animation started. Keep your thumbnails
and strategy in front of you so you remember
and make this a habit. Step six is to render and share. Now this is a production. So don't leave
your project saved on your computer and
jump to another project. Finish what you start
by entering the project and shared it with the world
and don't forget to tag us. Now you may have question, what if you can't finish an emission in the specific
time that you have decided. Now here, don't
beat yourself up. Z-value made mistakes,
then correct them. Now we're practicing
production for this reason, we want to make as many mistakes
as possible during this, don't be afraid of mistakes. You are not going to
be perfect or you are not going to be a row
from the first day. So you should
anticipate mistakes. It's okay to make mistakes, but every time you
make mistakes, you should go back to them. And to be honest, you practicing production in itself separates
you from the crowd
10. Overlooked Key to Creativity: Now we are in the most important and overlook the
part of animation, and that is mindset. Have you ever wondered why do people use the same software? But one is extremely creative
and the other one sucks. Now, if you have
noticed the difference, then let me break it
to you that creativity is not about tools or software, or even about plug-ins. Creativity is about mindset. It's how you think your thinking
is your greatest asset. That is this principle
called Pareto principle. I'm sure you have heard it. So Pareto Principle is an aphorism that
asserts that 80 per cent of output results from
all 20 per cent of inputs. Now, in animation,
most people focus 80% of the time on the
least important things. And that is running behind
tools and techniques. But the truth is, all tools and techniques
will give you 20% results. What really drives 80
per cent of your result is you're thinking this
is how it really is. This is the reason
why 80 per cent of motion designers or average, they are either
good at software, but can be creative. They are good at both, but can't get any glands. So your thinking is your greatest asset and it will be overlooked in the
animation industry. Always, people will always
sell you Tools, plugins, and courses to master software, but they will never
sell your creativity. So let's see how to be creative. So creativity is a result of healthy mindset and
thinking patterns. So there are two
ways to be creative. Number one is to look outside resources like the
Internet, social media, and Mother Nature's deal from the already existing resources and combine three
or more resources to create completely new one. Now, I got this idea from this book. It's
an awesome book. You should buy it and
you should read it. Number two is look inside. Now this approach is less known. Nobody is going to
talk about this, but this one is my
personal favorite. So people normally rely on the first idea of
being creative, but in my opinion, it's overrated here is what
I mean by look inside. Our mind is creative and it's
a problem-solving machine. To look inside, you have to rely on yourself and
your imagination. So before you start a project, come to clear decision on
what it is that you want. Then imagine the results
in your mind, e.g. if you are working for a client, imagined and result in beat it. Now, if you can create this, we read images in your mind. You will be easily
able to create an awesome animation
on your computer.
11. Resourcefulness: Overcoming Limitations: Now I have saved this
guilt for last because I want only committed people
to learn this skill. And this skill is
resourcefulness. Now, this quote by Tony Robbins really captures the
essence of the skill. It's not the lack of resources, It's your lack of
resourcefulness that stops you. So first of all, let me
define the source fullness so that we both are
on the same page. Now, resourcefulness
is the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties with what is available to us right now. Now not everyone
starts life with money, privileges,
or connections. Some of you may not
have a good system that runs after
Effects that well, some of you may be
watching this on a pirated website because
you can't afford the course. Or some of you may be using the Pi dated version
of After Effects. Now there is no judgment here, but I want you to know that
it's not about what you have, it's what you do
with what you have. That really, really matters. Everything you tell
yourself, like, I don't have a good computer or are there are many battles
motion designers than me, so I can't get
clients or there are new clients or motion graphics
requires time and money. I don't help hold all these
are the excuses of resources. Now you don't fail because
you don't have resources, you fail to get clients are
alone After Effects faster because you lack
resourcefulness. Now, I'm sure you must
be excited about this. So you might have
a question like, how do I even developed
resourcefulness? Developing resourcefulness
will turn your life around. And I'm not just talking
about an emission, it will turn your life around. It's like having a skill that lets you get anything you
want with what you have. If that doesn't impress you, I don't know what will. Anyways, to develop
resourcefulness, all you have to do
is ask questions. Yes, ask questions and
not just questions. Better questions. E.g. how do I do this? Or how do I get clients that pay me $10,000 as a beginner? Or how do I find my glands? Or where do I find my clients? Or how do I present
myself in a way that makes me look professional
in front of my clients. Now, these are all
the questions and you must This asking yourself
a powerful question. Now my favorite
questions are this. How do I turn this around? Odd? What's the easy and
efficient solution? Or how do I do this? Ten times faster with
efficiency will get. Now, if you want to
learn more about this, I got this idea from this book
12. Learning to Get Clients as a Beginner: You should start
thinking about getting glands as soon as you
start learning innovation. I know that sounds stupid. And I'm sure you must be asking, why should I even do that? Because what's the use
of all the skills? If you can land a client? This is uncomfortable
to realize. I know that the
member you want to do what you love to make money. And I'm not saying that making money should be your only goal, but you should be able to get
clients whenever you want. You should at least
have those skills. And so this chapter will
help you establish those. So here is what you
can do as a beginner. Because the first one is building a list of
potential clients. So as a beginner, the best potential clients, our social media pages,
who uses animations? E.g. if there is a
restaurant in your area with using animation on that
page, go approach them, or at least add
them to the list, because social media animations are really easy to create, but don't limit yourself
to this as well. Going Social Media,
see clients who are using animation and now
add them to your list. Now once you have
solid work to show contact your glides contact
your potential clients. Make sure you contact one
potential client per week. Now this is the most
uncomfortable yet rewarding pain. Also, one of the best way to find clients is to
attend seminars, workshops, and events, especially those business
expos and events. Yes, that is your
target audience. You should visit that
as soon as possible. Number two is you should start
building your portfolio. You don't need a website. You can use Notion to create your portfolio or just
upload your work on YouTube. Now of course, you may
have this question, but I don't have work. How am I supposed to show work
when I don't have a walk? Well and create your wall, you go passion project. Create one logo
animation to one, explain that offer
popular brand. And then create as much as
you like until you like. And then once you're satisfied, once you have enough
work to show, go ahead and approach
clients that you want. Number three is be a copycat. Now, you may not like this. You're not going to like this, but you have to connect
with other motion designers and see and ask them how
they are getting clients. As a beginner, you should
copy whatever they are doing. Now of course, you
have to be mindful. Be authentic to yourself. If you don't like
it, don't copy, but if that is successful
motion designer that you like, then you should copy them. The beginning, you, you will develop your own path
as you progress. But in the beginning,
it's better to be a copycat than being an original
