into the fun part. Editing. I'm going
to demonstrate eight simple steps to edit
a video in Premiere Pro, using examples along the way to make things crystal clear. From importing your footage to adding transitions and effects, I've got you covered. Now, before we go to the
main eight step process, let's have a quick
walk through how to open Adobe Premier
Pro for the first time. All right, first, look for the Adobe Premium Pro icon
on your computer desktop. It's usually a blue
square with PR inside. Then double click on the icon
to open Adobe Premium Pro. Then you'll see a
welcome screen. Here, you can choose to start a new project or open a recent. Next is creating new project. You make new project
in Adobe Premiere Pro because you need to keep
your video editing organized and set up correctly
for each new video or project you work on inside
Adobe Premiere Pro. Well, to do that,
you need to click on New Project on the
welcome screen, or you can go to file
at the top left, then click New and
Choose Project. Next is naming your project. This is important
because it helps you easily identify and locate
your project files, ensuring organization
and efficiency. In your video editing workflow, a box will pop up asking
your project's name. Just type in the name of
the project and click Okay. Next is choosing your
project settings. Remember that you need to
choose project settings in Adobe Premiere Pro so that the editing environment
matches your video footage, making editing easier and
avoiding problems like playback issues or errors
when exporting your video. More on that later. So here, you can pick the location where to save your
project files. Next is creating your project. Once you're done, click
Okay to start your project. Now Adobe Premium Pro opens a new window for your project. All right, next is
exploring the workspace. So what is workspace? Adobe Premium Pro Workspace refers to the
digital environment within the software where users arrange and access
various editing tools, panels, and assets to
create and edit videos. It's like a virtual
desk where you arrange all your editing
tools and assets, making it easier to
create your videos. Think of Adobe Premiere
Pro workspace, like a kitchen counter, where you lay out
all your ingredients and utensils before cooking. That's where you organize your editing tools
and materials, making it easier to whip
up your video creation, just like cooking up
a delicious meal. When I first opened
Adobe Premium Pro and saw the workspace, I felt a bit intimidated. Seems like there
are so many panels and buttons to navigate through, and I wasn't sure
where to start. But as I began to explore and experiment
different features, I realized that it wasn't
as daunting as it seemed. With each click and adjustment, I grew more comfortable with the layout and functionality
of the workspace. So if you're feeling
a bit overwhelmed, just remember that this is all part of the
learning process. Take your time to
explore, ask questions, and soon enough,
you'll feel right at home in the Premiere
Pro workspace, too. So inside Adobe Premiere, you'll see different sections
or also known as panels, project panel timeline panel,
program monitor panel. Tools panel, effects
panel, and audiometers. First is the project panel. Normally located at the
bottom left of the screen. You can use this
for importing and organizing and media files
such as video clips, audio files, and images. Next is the timeline panel, normally located at the
bottom center of the screen. This is your main editing area
where you arrange and trim your clips to build your video and spend
most of your time. Next is your program monitor. Normally located at the
top right of the screen. This monitor shows you a preview of your
video as you edit. This where you can play, pause, and scrub through your
video to see how it looks. Next, is your tools panel, normally located
at the left side of the screen, next
to the timeline. These tools help you
edit your video, such as cutting, moving,
and zooming clips. Next is the effects panel located normally at the
right side of the screen. This is where you
find visuals and audio effects to
enhance your video. Next is the audiometers, normally located at the
right side of the screen. These meters shows
the audio levels of your video to
ensure your sound is not too loud or too
quiet. And that's it. Take your time to look around
and get used to everything. Knowing where things are will
make editing much easier. Now, what if you don't
like the position of the panels and you
want to customize it? Well, the goodness is, yes, you can rearrange panels to
fit your workflow perfectly. So to create a layout that
suits you best, simply click And drag the tabs of the
panels to move them around. Once you're happy
with how it looks, save your workspace layout. To do that, just go to
Window at the top menu, select workspace and choose
Save as new workspace. Then create a name for it, for example, my workspace. Then click Okay.
Now, what if you accidentally messed up
the workspace like this? You put this here,
you put that there, and you put this in here,
and you mess it up. Well, don't worry because
you can always go back to the original
workspace by resetting. If things get jumbled or you move a panel to a wrong spot, just go to the top menu, click on Window, then
select workspace, and then choose reset
to save layout. This will restore the workspace
to its default settings, making everything neat
and organized again. If you don't want to create
your own workspace layout, the good thing is you can also choose from premade
workspaces or layout already available in Premiere Pro that are
designed for different tasks. Example, to access
one of the workspace, go to Window at the top,
click on Workspace, and you will see all the
available workspace for you. So for example, assembly
workspace, click on that. This layout is great for importing and
organizing your media. As you can see here
on the left side, where you can simply
organize your footages. The project panel is larger, making it easier to browse
through your clips. Next is the editing workspace. Go to Window, Choose Workspace and click on Editing Workspace. This is the default layout,
perfect for cutting. And perfect for rearranging
your clip like this. As you can see, it has a large timeline panel
and a program monitor, and this is the
editing workspace that I use most of the time. Next, we move on to
the next workspace, which is the color workspace. Go to Window Workspace, and then color workspace, designed for color
correcting and grading. This workspace highlight
the lumitry color panel. Then we have another workspace, go to Window workspace, and we have the
effects workspace. This setup emphasizes
the effects panel here and the effects control, ideal for adding visual
effects to your video. Then we have the
audio workspace. Focuses on audio editing, featuring larger audiometers
and the audio track mixer. Next is the graphics workspace. By clicking here on
captions and graphics, best for working with titles and motion graphics highlighting
essential graphic panel. Now, if you want to switch
between these workspaces, simply click on
Window at the top, click on Workspaces and
select the one that you need. However, to make sure we are on the same page and you can
follow along in this course, we'll be using the
default layout, which is the editing workflow. So go to Window, go to
Workspaces and choose editing. So when I teach you the lessons, we will have the same layout, and you can easily
follow along with me. This consistency will help
you focus on learning the tools and techniques without getting lost in
different setups. By using the editing workspace, you'll have all the essential
panels in front of you. The project panel for
your media files, the timeline for
arranging your clips, and the program monitor
for previewing your edits, and the tools panel for quick access to
editing functions. If you ever need to reset your workspace to
match mine exactly, just go to Window at the top. Then click on Workspace
and then click on reset to save layout. This way, everything will
be in its default position, and you won't miss a step. Great. Now that we're all set up and familiar with the workspace, it's time to dive into the real magic,
editing your videos. But what if you don't have a video yet? Well, don't worry. You can still practice
using downloadable assets, footage and templates available
in the resources tab. I will also include a
folder structure guide for video editing projects to keep your video project well
organized and efficient. Save it in your computer, and you can use it as a template for your
future projects. You can pause the video,
download it first. Then once you're ready, I'm
going to walk you through eight simple steps on how to edit videos using
Adobe Premiere Pro. These steps will take
you from importing your footage to exporting
your final masterpiece. Well, don't worry. If
you're a beginner, I'll explain everything
in an easy to understand way and include
plenty of hands on practice. Are you ready?
Let's get started. Here are the eight simple
steps on how to edit videos using Adobe Premiere
Pro from start to finish.
