1. Intro to Painting the Wildflowers Project: Hi and welcome to painting
with atoms on either. Today, my son journey is going to join me and
we're going to work on a painting with
some wild flowers in front of us, scientists sky. Is that right? We're
gonna be using some of our very
favorite tools, outer. Other really cool objects
that we found around the house to make the
shapes so we don't have to draw any
complicated shapes. We're just going to stamp. It makes them cool
flowers, right? Yes. Yes. So be sure to check your paint color list
before you again because we're going to use all
the colors of the rainbow. And you're also going to
want to check your life was so you can make sure to have everything ready
before you begin. Now, journey is gonna
paint right alongside me, so we're not going to speed
up any of the videos. We're gonna keep
everything the same time. So we were painting right
next to each other. And so you can paint
right along with us. We're also going
to include funds, sing along video,
It's Geography, sing one of our favorite thumbs. You'd like to sing
along or join in. We're also including a
Spotify playlist with Journey approved songs that you can listen to
while you paint. So we're gonna go ahead and get our paint and our
supplies ready. We're going to start the
case. Are you ready? Yeah. Yes, we're ready.
2. Gathering Our Supplies: All right, So now we're gonna go over all of the supplies
we need for our project. The very first thing we have is what are tapestry to
cover the table that way, if we make any messes, it goes right onto her. If you guys have one because
it will help you if you put your fingers
your fingers here or we make any drips fine. Yeah. Okay. And then for our
paint brushes so we can dry your paint brushes
off, what do we have? I have a rag. And you have some paper towels. So you can either use a rag
or you can use paper towels. We have just so we can show
you how to use both, right? Yes. Alright. And then we also
have a cup of water. I have my cup of water. You have your cup of water. And then inside we only need
to paint brushes, right? Let's show the first one big. It's already in a
couple of waters, so maybe we dry it a little bit. Okay. This is the first one. This is maybe as
big as my thumb, so maybe about a centimeter, centimeter and a
half, That's going to be thicker than your thumb. We need one bigger paintbrush
like that and then we need one little one
for the details. Have a little one way
tinier than your thumb. We just needed to paint brushes. Yeah. Alright. Then we also have a paint
plate in which we covered with some paper
towels because we actually have a lot
of colors underneath, but we wanted to show
how the colors are. Suddenly we had to put some
of the overhead, right? Yeah. Okay. Then we have all of our paints. So let's see what colors
we're gonna need. Yes. Alright, so what's
the first color we have? Journey. Go ahead and grab it. All right, so we
have a red color. Cool. What's an X? Right? You also have an orange? Yeah. What's next? We have a really pretty yellow. I really like that yellow. And then green are
really pretty green. Very good. We also have a
lime green, green. That's a pretty good grade. That's a good green. You'd like that color? I like this blue. We have a blue, a really nice blue. It's kind of like a sky
blue or an ocean blue. We will use it for
lots of colors. Lots of things. Yeah, blue. Then what's next? Purple. We love purple.
And it was pretty good. Like the galaxy. Yes. Pink. Beautiful paint. Some black for some details. And this is actually
refer fish food, but we put some white paint
in it because we have a really big container
of white paint, so we put it into a smaller one. So we've got some white there. All right. What else do we have? We have a roller tool that
we're going to use for some nice texturing will pour, pour some paint on our
plate and we'll roll this through and make
some nice textures. But if you don't have
the roller tool, what else can they use instead a cap or a lid of
some kind yet you can just push it into the paint and put it onto your
canvas or paper, and you'll get a
really awesome shape. What else? We have some Q-tips that's going to help us
make some nice shapes. Yeah, there's a bunch of them. Will have a good handful of
Q tip over there. Awesome. Now for some of the other cool shapes we're going to make, Let's check out some of our other texturing
and shape tools. What do we have a couple
of forks over there. Cool. So you can either use a plastic fork or a
regular metal fork. We have both. So we'll use both of those for the shape of
one of the flowers. I'll find it lists, we're gonna use food
in our project. This is the bottom of a celery, so our salary was
just about done, so we just cut the tops off. And now we're going to use
the bottom so we can use it as a stamp and we'll make
some super cool Flowers. Diy stamp, very good. The most important
tool that we have. They're gonna make some
really cool shapes with our fingers. All right, so I think that's
all the supplies we needed. Did we get everything?
We did and we did sorry. Ready to go? Yeah. Sorry.
So ready. Okay. Let's go.
3. Pouring Our Paint: All right, are we ready for
our projects? Thank you. Alright, so for this project, I am going to use a piece
of watercolor paper. And journey is going
to use a Canvas. And that way we can
show that you can do the same project but
on different things. So if you don't have a
canvas, you can use paper. The paper you can use
the Canvas, right? Yes. All right. For this step,
we're going to pour the colors of paint that
we need on our plate. This is probably a good
thing for an adult to do. So I'm gonna do this part, okay? All right. The background of this is
going to be orange and yellow, which means those are the colors we're going to need the most up. So we're going to do more of
the yellow and the orange. An eye. Maybe we will. A little bit of
orange next to it. Those are gonna be the
colors of our background. It's gonna be a bright
background like the sky is the sensing illuminated
like a sunset? Then we're going to use our roller tool for
some of the whites. So we're going to, since we
have to use a roller tool, we're gonna spread it
out in a line yet. Thanks again. We're getting good
at that aren't we will take all of
the other colors and we'll put them
around the plate. Okay. So is that what
we did last time? A little bit of red. Okay. If it touches, we're going to use a little bit
of a good thing. Only we aren't
gonna make him shy. Do you think? Yeah, if we go around
the circle, alright, let's do some lime green. I really love lime green. It's such a fun color. It's like the grass. Do you want to come out? Navy wanted those to the
ocean today. We're done. Maybe we have to take a
trip to the ocean, right? We're also going to use some really pretty blue
potential. Will try. Excellent. What's next? My favorite Jake John is right. We take everybody all the time. When you do things, everybody all the time,
you really good at that. Everybody else, incidence or your infinite sprites
for the rest of life. Thank you. I think this one was a
little bit more liquidy. The argument making
some nice purple. What's next? There's a little
tough sometimes. Some pink. Now we're not going to pour
out the black because we may only need that for
details at the end. I mean music. Good idea. Alright, so now we've
got all of our colors. Are we ready to begin? Ready.
4. Painting the Sunny Sky Background: Okay, now we're ready for our very first step
of our paintings. We are going to do
the background. And it's gonna be kind of like the sun is illuminating
the whole background. So we're going to
use the colors. Or like a sunset. Yes. Let's take our big
paintbrush since in our water and we're
gonna need to dry it. We don't want any
water on this one. You want to debit really
good with my rag. Get it really, really
dry if it can. Now, let's dip our
paintbrush into the yellow. We're gonna do both
sides of the paintbrush. Excellent. And we're going to
start at the top. And we're just going to go
with yellow all the way till down and then
orange, left to right. Okay, Here, let's keep this
straight. There you go. I love that yellow. Now we can mix them just
a little bit of orange. Orange is kind of
a brighter color so you don't need
a whole lot of it. Remember to go left to right. You should brush like this. Left to right. Look how I'm blending
in some of the orange. Just a little bit of the orange, and then we come
back to the yellow. You see how it blends
the two colors together? I'm doing the yellow first
and then the yellow first. Yes. Go right ahead. When we get to the edges, we can just pull our paintbrush
like this to the side. We don't want to push
our brush too hard. And we want to make
sure that we keep our brushstrokes going
the same direction. Left or right to left to right. And then we just blend those
beautiful colors together. I love yours. On both sides. You can. And if we need more
yellow looking for some more, No problem. We've got plenty. Like yellow. Marrow doing the whole
thing with the other yellow and orange
is a great pillars. Essentially for me. We've finished about
the same time. I'm going to pour a little
bit more yellow for us. Good, I liked that. You're going side-to-side,
keeping your brushstrokes the same direction. Feel
free to get plenty. Oh, that's all right. I mean, we have excellent. Next, try to keep your
brushstrokes going the same direction. All right. Very nice. Durham them together. Now you can mix
them. There you go. You don't have to do the
orange and every spot either. Remember to go left to
right, left to right. I didn't get that. Super cool. How you're blending all
those colors together. Look at that. That is super cool. We made dissertation. Keep your brushstrokes
going the same direction. Left or right. That is super cool. I think I am. Wow, I'm just
admiring your work. That's cool. You see how needed is when
the colors blend together. How cool is that? Oh, and I love your technique, love to right, left to right. Keep those brushstrokes
go in the same direction. Look at that. That's awesome. Perfect. There you go. So that in a little Excellent. Okay, now you can put your
brush back in your water. We are going to do in some
shapes in the background. We have a roller tool. We have a cap just in case
you don't have a roller tool. Which one do you want to use? You want to use a roller
tool for this one, just like when you're happy to. Now, what we're going to do is roll the roller
tool through the white and then we're going to drag it across the painting. Maybe you can think of
them more as like clouds. Here. Do you want
me to help you get the paint on the roller brush? We're going to paint
them all up and downs. Kids insertion. You could use Q-tips if you wanted
to make counties. But I'll stick with you. Alright. We're going to have
a whole lot of room here, so I didn't drag it through. So here's what you want to do. This is like you're going
to use it like a stamp. But you don't want to roll it too hard because
then what's going to happen is it's all
going to look like it's one big long line. Very gently. You can push down a little
bit like it's a little stamp. Okay? You can put the clouds
anyway you want, you can go like this. You can go up and down across your painting or you
can go sideways. Sideways. Okay. Go right ahead. Wherever you want to start, and then push down
just a little bit and drag it very gently.
Not too hard. Good. Keep going. Keep going, keep going, keep going. Let's get it some more. Some more. We've got some orange mixed
in it and that's okay. That makes it look like drink. Then you can hold it down
here and you can do it again. Go next to it, down
here. The second part. There you go. All the way down the canvas. We still have some white paint
on there you can go again. I love it. You've got a little
bit more space. You can give it a little
bit more. For me. Going to make these widths. I can get the same kind
of fun circle shapes, like we switched to the bodies. Here we go. So now I've got some answers in the
back of my chair. Yes. Then you're done. You can set it aside. I'm just dipping the cap and some white paint and making some cool background
shapes. Not fun. Alright, now we're
done with those tools. So now we're going to
let our backgrounds dry before we paint over it. So let's take a little break and we'll come back
in about ten minutes. Okay. Awesome.
5. Surprise Sing Along: While we wait for the background of our
painting to dry journey and I like to sing one of
our favorite songs. So what are we going
to sing today? Probably by Larry bumblebees,
by Laurie Bruckner. Now we're also going to have a playlist of some of our favorite songs that
we're going to include. So you can listen to these
songs and sing along with us while you're painting me
at night or at night, That's usually when we
listen to them. All right. I was sitting in my garden. When I saw bone Bowlby. He said his name was Oscar. He went Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz,
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz,
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz,
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz. I was sitting at a pizza place
when I saw two bumblebee. Said their names were Jackson
Max and they went Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz,
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz. A 12123 go but as
those thighs with the best of both bones. But suppose, suppose a bows. I was flying through the era. When I saw three bumblebee. They said their names
where they went. But as far as the
best, the best test. So suppose this is just a 12123 go. Well that was super fun. I always loved singing songs of journey and that was super fun. All right, now I think
our background has dried, so we're going to go back to our painting and continue
with the next step. Ready? Yeah.
6. 5 Painting All of the Flowers: Okay, We are back. We've waited about ten minutes, so most of our
background is dry. It's not completely,
but it's mostly so we can continue
with our project. Right now. We're gonna make some really beautiful flowers and lots of different shapes by
using different tools. So which one are we
gonna do first journey. Yeah, We're gonna
make some roses using our celery, right? Okay, so the first
step for that is we'll do this part together because
we only have one salaries. So what did they
use it together? I'm going to paint it. I'll paint it for you, get the red on it. And then you're going
to stamp it where you would like your rows to
be on your painting. Does that make a
couple of Wilson's? Of course you can make
a couple of roses. I'm just painting some of
the red paint over this, the celery edge into the celery. Guess. What do you use rosa
score to smell delicious. Give to somebody. Oh, yes. For sure. Alright, Where
would you like to put it? I'll put 123. All right, let's put 1 first. Then you want to stamp it
down really, really good. From the left to the
right or get it on, they're really, really good. Okay, Now lift it gently. Wait, let's put
some more paint on it so you can get another rose. Oh wow, It doesn't
that look cool. Pretty. Here you go. Put some more
red paint on it for you. Go ahead, put it
where you'd like it. Right next to that one. Stamp it on. Really, really good job. Lift it up and let's see. Would you like to
do another one? Yes. One more rows. Okay. I'm troubled me click
base or something. Really a pretty shape. Make sure we got enough
there, but not too much. If you put too much paint, then all of it all kind of
like it's stuck together. So I'm actually
pushing the pieces out a little bit so
it doesn't get stuck. And there you go. Put your third rows and then I'm gonna put my roses online. Look at that. Right now it's my
turn to do my raises. All right, so I'm gonna put
some paint here. The salary. Let's see. I'm gonna put one
rows right here. Stamp at really good, Push down super hard. There's my first rose. I'm gonna do my second one. I didn't like you did
there like buds, rosebuds. Right now I've got
three rows of two. Excellent Kane, I'm gonna put
my paintbrush back in here. All right, so we've got roses. Now, the second flower
that we're going to make is the lilacs. For that we're going to use
purple and white and a Q-tip. Yes, please. Thank you. Okay. These can also
be like blue bonnets. Alright, so what we're gonna do, we're gonna dip our Q-tip
in the purple first. Here's kind of the basic shape. I'm going to do one
maybe right over here. And I'm gonna do like this. I'm gonna do 123 for
right next to each other, do for first in a line. Then we'll, we'll,
we'll make a shape. Yep, start with four. And then up here
maybe we do 123, then we do maybe
12 and then 123. You can put them all together. We'll just kind of
build it up like this that you can do maybe
to yep, right there. But another one next to
the top purple one, great. And then maybe another
one in-between, these two purples here. Perfect. And then you just build it up. 232321. Sure. Then do another one
on top of that. And another one on top of that. Then another one on top of
that in the very middle. That beautiful she
make another one. We give them different colors. Sure. Let's do it. Right? Yeah, I'm gonna start
with four and then three. And then look, you
can do two and then one on top of
one on top of one. So they're a little
bit layered, right? Yep. Good. Then a couple of more. I'm even going to add in
a little bit of white. Check this out. Let's add a little bit of
white on top of these. Isn't that fun? Another one, then
start going upwards. You just want to do
maybe 12 and then one. And then here you can put
another one right here. That looks like it's
going there you go. Excellent. Different color. You sure did. Actually, we're going to give them some stems and they're
gonna go into the ground. Just sounds really good. Alright, how's your
flowers doing? You'd like those. All right. I like him too little bit flat. All right, let's work
on another flower. Let's make tulips. We're going to make
two loops with a fork. Let's check our port. Alright, we've got two forks. We can either use a metaphoric or we can
use a plastic fork. Now with the tulips, we can use any color that
we want to use. I've already used
purple and red. So maybe I'm going to use
a little bit of the blue. That blue, Here's
what we're gonna do. We're just going
to dip our fork in it and drag it
just a little bit. You just made it a percent. And look, I can fill in the back just a little
so that when I stamp it, this is going to be the
shape of my flower. Oops, there was a
piece of cat hair. Always cadherin on
everything, isn't there? A lot of cats. All right, Let's see
yours. Show me yours. Alright, cool. So now let's pick a place
for our first tulip. And what we're
gonna do, I'm gonna put it through most to here. So that's a good idea.
I'm gonna do that too. Okay, look, we're
gonna start with this part of the fork and
we're going to lay it down. Then we're going to
push it towards top. Push it towards the top. Like a stamp. Excellent, You did it. And then we'll do
the same thing. Maybe I'm gonna do
another one over here. Maybe I want to do one with a
little bit of my turquoise. Oh so great, I don't like that. I'm gonna do one maybe. I'm just gonna do like a
little flower anymore. They're going to need
a little bit more. I'm happens. I love it, that's okay. Some of them have a thicker
petals than the others. Yes. Let's see another color. Now. I'm going to I'm
just going to wipe my fork off here. Just going to wipe it on my rag. You could wipe yours. Look, grab it from the
front and the back. You want to use mine. There you go and pull it out. You want to use another color and make another color to live. I think I'm going to
make a pink one because you have a really pretty pink
flower, not hot pink hit. Okay. I'm going to drag mine
through some of the pink. Want too much paint. If there's too much paint them, they all come together, right. So it just tap on it. Hey, that's okay, one
of mine did it too. In every flower is a little bit different, right, right here. I'm gonna do one more maybe. How about RAD or not this year? No mistakes in art. That's just sticks. Super fun. What you want, what
you want to do. All right, Now
we're going to pull it out, drive a little bit. Journey, I just love yours. Okay, now we're gonna
do one other kind of flower and this one is
gonna be super fun, which you know what, actually we need a little
bit of black for this one. We're gonna make
some wild flowers. Sure, Let's pour a
little bit of it here. We didn't do that yet. We only need a little bit. So here's how we're gonna
make our wild flowers. Are you ready? We're going to take
our small finger, dip it in the black. We're going to actually make
these with our fingers. This is gonna be the middle
part of wild flowers. So wherever you want
to put a loud flower, we're just going to
put a little dot and that's gonna be the
middle of a wildflower. Put it down. I'm going to make a few. I really like wild flowers. It finished my oops. I made a tiny one. I never really felt
I really love him. That I'm going to dry off
my pinky finger here. Yours all dry. Now we have to give
them petals, right? So now we're going to
use a bigger finger. Which color should we give them? Let's see, maybe I will make. All right, let's make a turquoise. Why
don't you go ahead. Yeah, you can use this finger. I'm gonna make one purple. Here's what we're gonna do. We're just going to give them
little petals right around. We're just going to
stand very lightly around the black circle,
ready, like 123451. You can do as many. You don't have to
do five, you can do four or five or six. That's alright. That's okay. Then you can dry your finger. If you accidentally mixed a color and you
want to dry it off, you can. Here we go. I'm going to make another
purple one right over here. 12345. Oh how fun. Maybe I think I'm
gonna make a mix. I think I will make a triple. We want to mix, so I
like to mix colors. Maybe I want to
make a lot of red. I'll use something similar to good grasp. You know, we can, we gotta do this stands to some of them. You can make tiny grass like a, like a fork and you sure can see maybe I want to do
one in one other color. You do grass,
probably Tertullian. Getting the grass when you
want to make some grass. Alright, let's do that. Next. Super fun. Alright, so you
want to make grass, Do you want to use your fingers or do you want to use the fork? Because they can see? Or you can also stamp it
like this across the bottom. Alright, so let's
try it this time, but we're just going to
dip the end of it, right? We'll just dip the end in the green because they're
just going to make a little bit of grad. Alright, we can also
use both greens. Make graphs in two
different colors. Are you ready? No, you're already going. This is perfect for my grass. Grass looks amazing. Now. Do the same for
the memes on that. Actually we're gonna
give them some stems. I'm going to show you
how to do the stem. Just do a ligand we will use are very small paintbrush to
give them some stems. You want to get your
small paint brush ready. Really small paintbrush. Alright, I've got some grass. You can also change it. You can definitely use
whatever you have. Yes, whatever you got. Good job. You're already dried
it and got it ready. So we're using are very
small paintbrush here. What I'm gonna do is just
dip it into the green. And anywhere there's a flower, I'm going to give it a stem
to come into the graph. Now here's one thing
you should keep in mind is if you have two
flowers in the way, be careful to not paint over it. For example, watch this. I have a rows here, so I'm gonna start the stem, but I'm going to stop when
I get to this flower. I'm just going to
continue down here. You can get more paint. You can also use some more of the lime green when
he loves Angry. Going to make mine kind
of come down like this. Usually. Do we need some more lime green
Christmas trees. Super phone, but look at that. Oh, they're happy. They're all reaching down to the ground. That one's cool. Idea. Here. What happened? Oh, that's okay. You can just drag it down. I think I'm going
to need some more. Do you want to drag your
stems down into the grass? Here? Shall we get some more? Good idea? Just do some little bit
more of a lime green. Maybe we want to give
them some leaves. Right? I forgot about this
when I got to get a nice dark green and then you can so
you can either use your paintbrush and you
can do a little leaf like this look from the
center and pull up. Perfect. You can also use
your little finger. Dip, just a teeny tiny bit of paint and put a little
leaf like this. Like the first one. You can, or you can do both. You can mix up because there
are different flowers, so they have different
kind of leaves. Maybe this one has
one of these leaves. We can have all night. Wow. What else? Come in like this? O need some lime green here. I'm just going to
paint some lime green over some of my students. Look, there's two
colors in my stems now. Not pretty. Which one was releasing? And then I'm gonna do my finger. Look at yours, it's colorful. I got to finish on
my leaves here. Look, I'm just stamping my fingers and giving them
all kinds of different leads. Oh, thank you. I will
use the paint that's in the fluid that I am. Actually do look like look like clouds is monochrome idea. Check that out. It has all the colors. Wow. Look at that. And we made all of
these flowers using all kinds of different things that we have around the house. We didn't have to know
how to draw the flowers. We just used other things
like a forks and food. Good, Awesome. Well, thanks for painting with
me today to do enjoy that, I really need to. All right, awesome. Let's
let them dry for awhile.
