Journey

My grandfather encouraged us to paint Goddess Laxmi on the wall during Diwali; this is my oldest memory of my creative self. I never dreamt of being an artist, but as a kid, I was always inclined toward painting and even participated in various school-level competitions. I'm from Patna, India, and almost every child goes for engineering or medical. I was no different. I completed my engineering in Information technology in Indore and moved to Pune to work as a software engineer. I worked in top IT companies for a decade, and suddenly, the forgotten love for art came back, searching for me. I started my journey as an artist in early 2019 and eventually became a full-time artist in 2022.

1. Intro: Come on the surface, but paddling like Dickens underneath. These beloved species can grow in the wild on a farm or even in our homes. They even became an inspiration for many cartoon characters we grew up with. There are many reasons to love these emotional and intelligent species. Elephants. My name is Anna, and I'm an acrylic artists from India. Most of you know me from my Instagram that is more in the art gallery. This time, I have brought something special for you guys that is the intermediate level paid them. So this is the big thing which we will be doing. In the complete process. Your class project will be, There's only. So this painting is actually intermediate level painting. But yes, thickness can also try this painting because I haven't cut out anyway TO, there is no phospholipid we're doing this. You can, even the bigness can try the same thing because it is completely step-by-step painting. And I hope you will like this painting. If you are trying out this painting to share your project works as well as tag me on my Instagram. That is Mussolini odd gallery. And if you want to learn more of these types of paintings, you can check out my website that is MS creative arts.com. The link is given below, so you can check it out. Without waiting. Let's start with the painting. 2. Materials Required: Let's talk about the materials which we'll be needing. So first we need is the base. So here I have used my round eight inch canvas, and this is a stretch canvas. And I've primed it at least 23 times this canvas with chess. So you can also do that. And this is a, you can see a stretch canvas. It has a very thick bold at the bag. Like this canvas, you can use it. I bought this canvas from Instagram. You can also use the paper and everything. And these are the brushes which I will be using. Most of them are the rigger brush and this is the round brush. And all the rigger brushes of different sizes. Some are due by 01.3 by zero. So all these are of different sizes and one flat brush. So apart from this, we'll be needing pencil and eraser for drawing. I will be sharing the image as well. And then the clot for wiping out your brushes and the ballot. Then the container, it has two containers so that one in freshwater and one dirty water. So let's discuss about the colors. The colors which we will be needing is black to Daniel and white. Burnt sienna, lemon yellow, cerulean blue, cadmium orange, cadmium yellow, and sap green. All these colors will be needing for the painting. So you can see all sap green background as their sap green, lemon, yellow, and white mix. All these and these are the burnt sienna black. And this is surrealism blue. So all these colors will be needing. So let's start. 3. Background Blocking: Hello friends, welcome back. So you can see this is the sketching which I have drawn. I'll share you the sketching. You can either draw it by grid method or you can just trace it. And these are the colors which we will be using. The first color, it's really in blue, black, sap green, lemon, yellow, and white. So this is the flat brush which I'm using the pen, and this is the knife which I'll mix the color width. I don't use brush for mixing the colors. So let's start with first the blocking part. So I am just taking sap green and very little amount of black. I don't want to mix too much black so that the entire color tones into black because black is a very dominant color. So I wonder darkish, green, sap green is already dark, but we want more dark greens. So I'm just applying first the base that is the water of this with the sap green. I'm just using my flat brush. You can see the water is just on my brush. That much water you have to use when you are doing acrylic painting. You can see this color is quite transparent, so I'm just adding little more black to it so that becomes little opaque because I don't want a transparent color. So this is just the first blocking which we are doing. We'll also be doing at least two to three blockings. Because whenever we want something realistic, we need to do at least to do three coats of this painting so that it looks more smooth and more finished. Look at gets. So just moving my brush in the to and fro direction and I'm just blocking in this entire thing. So this is a little tough sketching. But if you are not good at sketching, you can always trace that. I will share you the file which you can use it and you can just take the printout and you can trace it. And the base which I'm using here is the Canvas which I have at primed at least with Jess 0 with 23 times. So you can also do the same when, if you are using Canvas, the reason behind applying to three times j. So as I want to smooth texture finish off the base, I don't want the post to be seen. So that's why I apply at least 23 cores of Jesu to make my base. And then I just do the painting. Before doing any painting, I start with the priming and then I start painting anything. So slowly, just apply the colors all around. This is actually the water, which I'm just painting it with green greenish water, you can say pond water or lake water, which is like greenish, dark greenish in color. So just adding little bit of lemon yellow to it to make them more light because this side the color is little bit lighter and shade. So try to apply it very carefully without disturbing that image of the duck so that when we are painting it will not face any difficulties. So just you can see I'm just blocking it to very slowly taking care of the corners and the outline. If you have difficulty in using this flat brush, you can also use your round brush or filbert brush for just blocking in this hole background. So take your time and do it slowly. And water is needed only for just mixing the colors. That said, I haven't applied any water on this acrylic color, as you can see. I've just use water on my brush and I'm just trying to take the color and I'm just blocking in. So that much amount of water is enough for doing the acrylic painting. Water is just a binder so it should not be used too much. Otherwise, that color will become that color value will decrease and it will not be as good as it does. The viscosity and the richness of the color will be really get reduced. So it's better not to use too much of water. When you are using this acrylic colors. You can see slowly, slowly. I'm just covering this whole background area with the dark greenish color. This is just the first blocking of the background. We are doing, there are lots of detailing. And this, actually this painting is quite intermediate level painting. Like bigness can also try, but this is an intermediate level painting which is, which needs lots of patients. And to do this entire painting because it will take a lot of time to paint if you are doing it for the first time. So if you're thinking to paint this, go ahead. And you will love to see the end result once you are done with the entire painting. So you can see I'm just filling the gaps which are in-between am not disturbing the shadow image. I'm just leaving that part and I'm just covering the whole background part. Once we are done with the background, we'll do the, we'll start with the detailing of the shadow, as well as the more smoothness to the color. Because we need to do at least one more code to bring more smoothness to that color. Now whenever your color is transparent or translucent, add little white or some opaque color to red, white, yellow, black. These are quite opaque colors. So when you will add these colors, the, the translucent colors of value, that, that transparency of the color will reduce, it will become more opaque. You can see I'm just leaving the shadow part and I'm just blocking in the background part. Now, my background part is almost done. Only few buds are left which are below the dark area. And after that we are done with the first blocking. So do it very carefully because a lot of details in the water as well. And I don't want to disturb that details also. So use a flat brush only if you're not comfortable using the bigger size flat brush. Use smaller size flat brush for doing the full blocking the colors. The reason behind I'm using flat brush because it is easy to draw straight lines and some steep lines here and there. So if I'm using filbert brush, I'll not be able to. And if I'm using a round brush, yes, round brush can be used for doing or blocking this, but you will not get this exact smooth finish with the round brush. You can use that areas which are already corner, which are very steep. So in that area you can use the round brush. So it all depends upon the where you want to use the brush and which brush you are comfortable with. We are almost done with deblocking. 4. Blocking The Reflection: So now let's start with the further blocking. So here I'm using my rigger brush of size one and just taking the same color. And I'm just applying to the corners which are left because I cannot do with the flat brush. So I'm using this rigger brush for doing it. So as you can see, I don't want it to hamper this whole image of the birds. That's why I'm using a smaller size brush. You can use your liner brush also for covering this corner part of the area. So try to use smaller size brushes for doing this. Because these are quite dark color, dark value color, and it will be difficult for you to overdo it on the board part, because on the board we will be using the lighter colors. So try to avoid just blocking it very slowly. Every part of the area which is left out. This back portion is also left out. So just first-time, just outlining the area. And then I will start with the blocking. So whenever you start any realistic painting, it takes time. So have patience and do it very slowly. Take your time and do it very, very slowly. When I started the painting, I was also not having patient's level. I had zero patient's level, but slowly, slowly, I developed by painting a at least one painting daily for at least 30 min so that I can get more and more patients level and hands-on on my brushes and colors. So if you want to paint something very nice and realistic, you need to at least practice it daily so that you get more and more hands-on on your brushes. So it's really important to practice. If you are really interested in doing something really good. Once you do your paintings daily, at least for 30 min. After an ear, you will see how you have grown from beginner level to such an intermediate level. You will see your progress by yourself only. Like I have seen my progress, I can now tell that how I used to paint and now how I paint. It's entirely different because I used to practice it every day, at least half an hour. Now I'm just using this radium blue and white for creating details. Now, adding more of white and less of surrealism, blue because I don't want very dark color, very dark bluish color. I'm just covering some parts with this blue color. So you can see there are so many Lego shadows which are reflecting on the water. So this is a few shadows which are like bluish in color. Here just I am blocking in the color. So it is actually the water splashes which when they dug paddles, their feet, the splashes which comes out, these are all Spanish splashes, which I'm doing with this blue color, this very light blue color. So currently, I'm not doing any detail. I'm just blocking in with this more of why do you have to add and very less amount of blue to it. So whenever you are doing like intermediate or something realistic level painting, you need to see each and every details how it is. It's really, really matters that what details, how you are painting it, and what are the colors, what colors you are using to match that background. So these all things are very important when you are doing something really realistic. So you can see I've not covered all the shadows with it. The only shadows which are near to this board area. I've just painted it with this bluish shade. So there are lots of blocking still left and we have to do lots of detailing in water. As you can see, the image which I have attached as so many details things, and water is actually the background of this whole image. 5. Water Background Detailing: So now let's start with our first detailing of the background. So you can see the water is like diverging. So it is meeting at a point so it does not straight line. So both the lines are like the lower line is straight, but the upper line is more Jing at some point. So I'm not creating it straight, but it is like a slanting line which is margin at one point. So you're just adding white and this sap green. And using my same brush that is flat brush and creating straight line. The lines are straight or not so straight, but it is diagonal because it is merge. It is like merging at one point. So I'm not putting it like straight line. But yes. So now again, adding little black toward because there's black and light color at the same time. Now, to blend two colors, you need to outline the black also so that the boat, the colors looks blended. And for blending two colors, border color has to be red. Then only you will be able to blend the two colors. And I will don't want sharp lines that why I am using both the colors simultaneously so that at the same time I can blend the colors also. As you can see how I'm moving the brush. Just blending black color also and that light cream color also together. Same thing. We have to do it on the above part. Light color than dark color. Light color and dark color. Like that. The pattern is. So currently I don't see much of lighter color, but I'll just use little more of white to it to create more light shade. Just creating some lines which are merging at a point. Again using more of Y because it is quite dark in color. Now, just creating the line. Also. See the lines I'm just creating. Tried to move it, or even if it is diagonal, it is straight. So try to make it straight only as much as possible. And simultaneously you need to blend both the colors, also dark and light color. Can see the blending is also being done over here as well as the detailing. So whenever we use acrylic paints, blending will only take place if both the colors are wet. So if one color has dried up, you cannot blend the colors. So make sure that the dark and the light colors both are wet. To blend the colors. Slowly, slowly, I'm moving down. I'm keeping it More or diagonal and more straight. So as you can see, it's such light color. And the shapes already coming up. The details are actually creates a watery effect on the lake part. Simultaneously. I'm blending those colors as well. I don't want sharp lines to be created. That's why I'm blending the color. Also. It's a little tricky, but just you have to keep in mind that whenever you are taking two colors, make sure that both the colors are not dried-up. Watercolors are wet, then only you can create some nice blended lines of two colors. Just trying to create perfect lines. So trying to create more lighter version of green so that it is more visible. I've added a little lemon yellow also do this color. 6. First Reflection Detailing: So now let's start with the lower part of the detailing. Here I have used burnt sienna. You can see I'm just adding white to it. And I'm just starting with the blocking. Slowly, just block in this color and you have to use very less amount of burnt sienna and more of white because it is very light, brownish and shade on taking green color also, because this is green in color. So just blocking this with green, light green. So taking a little blue and white mix and little more white because it is quite light bluish color and just giving shape to this water part. Also adding few more lines of water. Now here also I'm using same rigor brush for creating such details. Now here also little bit of blue is there. All these blue patches are water splashes which are there on the water. Just creating little more sharpness to this bluish part. So now again, we'll use the same color that does bond sienna and white mix. And they will start blocking these reflections of the Duck. Currently I'm just blocking it. We will do more details further. But for this test, we are blocking the colors. After the color blocking. We'll do the detailing also. Because these are quite sharp lines are being drawn. So yes, these are very small things which will be, need to do it and do it very slowly. Take your time. And then do it slowly because all these small, small details take time and try to use yours smaller size brush for creating such details. And here you can see the color is little, watery. It's not like very thick, so that I can fill in the colors and create straight lines. So again, I'm just blocking it with green, which is sum of the parts are left without greens. I'm covering it with it. And I'm also shaping these reflections as well with by covering it with green. Because green is the background color of all the images. So whenever we want to do any redo work, we can always use the background color to fix it. On just outlining the spot. Now again, taking green light green color and just applying the line because this is the extra line which I have created. So I'm just blocking in. But the same technique which I used earlier for the above one. And I'm just blending the two colors. Now, let's do the upper part again, taking this burnt sienna and white mix. This time little darker color because I want a little darker shade of brown. So there are many such intermediate level and advanced level tutorials on my website also, you can check the link is there in my bio that is an Instagram. That is more art gallery. Or you can just directly go into MS creative arts.com and you can see the courses which are of intermediate level. And they're all step-by-step methods are given. For this intermediate to advanced level painting, you can watch it out. So you can see I've just covered this with brownish color and just outlining with lighter color. Just adding little green to it and applying in the lower area, which is joining the water board and the water part, the boundary actually. Now you're also color mixing plays a very important role. You should know which color to use at what time. How much you need to mix the colors. So try to practice color mixing as much as possible. I'm thinking of creating the color mixing classes for this so that you can get more knowledge about the color mixing color wheel, how the color temperature is used, the warmness and the coolness of the colors. So I'll surely edit, create one class for this also, so that you can get more knowledge about the color composition. So you can see I'm just blocking in the green color because these are actually different shadows. So just blocking in. And then we'll create the shadow on the same thing you have to repeat as we did earlier on the above part. So the darker color and the lighter color, and then you have to blend the colors. So bad, Dennis, same, just the above part we have already done. We are now doing the lower part, but they're also reflections in it. You can see I'm adding the lighter color and I'm just blending the darker with it. If you will use tech colors, the colors will not drive fast and you can easily blend the colors. But if you will use very thin colors using lots of water, there will be chances that the color will dry very fast. That to the color of that value will fade and the color which you are trying to create will not come up. So try to use the colors as much as possible. And then you use take colors. These colors does not dry very fast. And you can easily blend two colors. Yeah, you can see I'm just using the tip of the brush to create the lines. So you don't have to use the complete brush, just the tip of the brush. And don't press your brush too hard, otherwise, it will not come up exactly how you want. When you want to create lines, you just have to use the tip of the brush to create the lines and blend with the tip only. So here you can see I'm just blocking these all green part first. Once these green parts of blogged in, then we'll do the final detailing of the water. I'm using this same palette, same colors that I was using earlier. I haven't used any new colors and this just trying to create light and dark shades of colors. 7. Second Detailing Of Water: Let's start a little bit more detailing of the upper part will do at least one more layer of background. Same color. I'm just adding to it, as you can see, first dark color and then light color simultaneously. So you can see I'm just applying the same technique which I used earlier. First the darker color, that is black and sap green mix. And then the lighter color in which I have added white to sap green and little bit of lemon yellow to it. So make sure that your lines are straight. It should not be like curvy lines should be straight. Diagonal lines which you can see I'm not creating the proper straight line because these waters are marching towards one center. That's why I'm trying to keep that inner diagonal position. So again, see how adding more of the darker color first. Because they are less darker shades than the lighter ones. Using my same flat brush. I'm just using the tip of the brush and creating these lines. Now I'm adding little lemon, yellow and white to this sap green. And then we'll add this lighter version of green. Now similarly, once we're done with the above part, will do few the dealings of the lower part also. But first, let's complete the few minor detail things with our liner brush. Size one. So here I'm just taking this burnt sienna and white mix. And first, I'm just outlining and just blocking in these light shades reflections which are coming on the water, but just giving shape to these reflections. So as you can see, I have added more white and very little amount of this burnt sienna because this deflection is of the neck, which is of the same color when we'll paint. So the reflection will be also of same color. So now using the same color, I'm just blocking it again and also giving little shape to those reflections as you can see. So you can see these are very minute details which we need to take care when we are doing some reflections, paintings. Either it is off board reflection or any reflections like mountains, skies, or the Cloud reflection. Any reflection. Now slowly, slowly we are moving towards the background is coming little more clear. Because the more you give sharp details, the more realistic the painting looks. Does do it very patiently and calmly. Because this is quite a little time-consuming painting and but you will love the end results once this painting is done. Now adding little outline to these area where the reflection of the forest there. So you can see I'm just outlining it first. Again with my same brush, liner brush. I'm just outlining the shapes of the flower. So this is, this painting I've done on a round circular canvas. You can do it on. Square canvas all sorts or a sheet, any base you can use. But make sure when you're using Canvas or MDF board, it should be properly primed because priming is important when you are taking Canvas or the MDF board as the base. Now, I'm little darkening this color with burnt sienna. And little bit black also have added to it to make it a little more darker color. Because the far which we will be painting on the above that but painting, this is little darker in color, so I'm trying to match that color. Now color compositions and what color you need to use is very important while you are doing any painting. So make sure that you're using correct color with same quantity of color mixing should be done. And whenever you are using black color, especially take care of the black color. Don't take too much black color because it is already dominant color. I'm just taking white and just outlining the outer part. Slowly. I'm just outlining it because the less sharp reflections actually, all these paintings are real time. I haven't fast forwarded because I want you people to know how I have painted it step-by-step. So it's proper real-time painting the jam doing you. So slowly. I'm just outlining and creating some effects also in-between. So these are actually very little details I'm just outlining. Now, once we are done with the outlining, will further ado the upper details which are left and also little bit of water details. And then we are done with the background. And then we'll start painting the board. So you can see how slowly moving forward, just step-by-step, I'm doing it. Now. I'm doing the blue part which is there. I'm just adding more wide and very less amount of blue to it. And just adding fuel or details for starting from the top corner. Just trying to add little more color to it. This is a second blocking which I'm done. I'm just adding little more of this grayish blue. I want. So very little amount of black also have added to it. As to filling the color. 8. Third Detailing Of the Water: So now we'll take this blue color which we were doing earlier to add some details to this water. So just taking again this smaller size liner brush off size zero, and just giving shape to it first, just outlining it. Because these are also quite sharp lines. So I'm just outlining it and also taking again the scholar and outlining from the top. So whenever you are doing some outline pod, tried to make the color a little fluid so that it can, it can be easy for you to move the colors. Now add this color is little bit darker than the background color. Background blue color which we have used. And I'm just outlining, you can see with blue colour little darker than the base color it is. And I'm just trying to give some nice water reshape to this, some round shapes to this water. Just adding little more white. And just taking a little more white to this color. And I'm just outlining it a little more. So we can see, Oh, it should be perfectly lined up because these are quiet. Oh, nice. Outline should be there. Otherwise, it will not look like a perfect reflection or the watery effect. So now just taking white and using it in the lower part because that color has led to a lighter shade. So also adding in-between little bit of white. So just outlining it with white, you can see now again, taking this blue and little bit of this sap green and just outlining this area which is below the black and sap green again. And I'm just outlining the lower part of it and just filling the color with that same color. Now whenever you are doing such type of detailing, it actually takes lot of time. So try to do these D dealings very patiently and take your time and do it. And use your sharp pointed brush for doing all these details. Here you can see I'm just creating the lines, poetry effect lines. And just blogging in this width, darker color. Now again, taking this bond CNO and just applying little lines to this. Just simple lines so that it looks like a watery effect. Now just taking white and again, adding little white to details. Again, that blue part was outlining it with white. Just outlining the first, the shadow. And then adding this blue color and white mix. Now, these are some more days who colors dry very fast. So try to keep that sprinkle water with you so that you can sprinkle it on the colors to make it a little more wet. So just adding little more lines to this area with the light blue color. So now let's take again white and blue color. Same mix. And now we'll do the next blues which are left. So just outlining the area which is below, which is the green apart so that it looks like watery to give a watery effect to it. Also just outlining this. Now again taking the scholar same color and just outlining. Now when you're outlining inside that blues, try to use little darker version of blue. And if you're doing outside the blue part, green part, then use the same color, which is the base color of the blue. So likewise, you have to give details. You can see it. So so little bigger size brush I've taken to do this size one. And I'm just trying to give the outline first to this little more outside loud line below. Just adding little more white to this. So you can see very little amount of blue is added to it and just outlining this whole reflection. So just giving shape to this reflection. And then we will do for the lottery more detailing to this. Now you can see I've added a little bit of lemon yellow to this color. And I'm just adding little lemon yellow to the edges. As you can see, just to the edges of this reflection. And the color has to be in liquid form. And now a little bit more details, darker details to this. Just adding little more and just mixing that yellow with this color, this light brownish color. 9. Fourth Detailing Of The Water: Let's start furthermore with the detailing. So let's take our buoyancy and under tidbit and white mix and make sure that there's little fluid in color. And just applying on this again, this shapes and just trying to mix it with that yellow color. So just giving nice shape and I'm just trying to mix it with that yellow part, which we have applied in the previous section. Now once this is done, we'll do further with the detailing of the reflections. Now let's take white, make it fluid, and then just outline these shapes with white color. So outlining gives a more depth to this painting when you outline things because these are quite sharp reflections, which are reflecting on the water. So just outlining them with white color. And you can see I'm also creating some lines, white lines on the other side. Similarly I will do for the rest of the reflection part. So now let's start with the reflection, which is just below the spot. Just outlining it, again, making it a little more sharp and more detailed. And little more outline on the outer also. So now outlining this part little bit more. Does the final touch to the water which I'm giving. Outlining all these blue parts. Now taking little lemon yellow and little white mix. Here I'm using same rigor brush as you can see. And just adding little highlight of yellow to this spot which is near to this like just fuel yellow lines. As you can see. It is becoming smaller as does going down. Again, taking little more white and blue color, very little amount, and just making this line more sharp. So you can see you and reflections. There are so many details which you have to take care when you are doing the reflections. So just outlining this. And now, let's start with the part which is on the other side, just giving some lines to give a watery effect to it. So always use a thin brush for doing all these details. I'm just filling this color again with the same color, just making a little more neat and more clean. And also giving some lines to this in-between. Because there are some lines in between. All these are repulsed, which I'm adding in-between lines with the very light bluish shade. You can see jock itch color because there's more of white and less of blue is there. Once you start doing these small details, it automatically adds more beauty and realism to your painting. Just outlining the shades which are below. So now again, taking bonds sienna and little white. And just adding these color in between these shapes which we have created because these are all the reflections of the board which is coming up. Adding these brown shades to it. And little black. I'm just taking and already brown as little they're in it. So it's fine. And I'm just making these lines more or take. So exactly what I'm doing here is I'm just taking my flat brush and I'm just extending that line with black, that brownish line with just black color. Now the reason behind I'm using this flat brushes because you can easily create straight line with flat brush irrespective of the liner brush. 10. Fifth Detailing Of Water: So now let's add detail to these also these reflections. And just adding little more white to the black to the base. That. Now, let's start with the details. Let's take again our liner brush and white color. And I'm just making little fluid and blue to it. And then just creating some nice shapes. Offer to this some nice curvy lines as you can see. And also I'm just outlining these as well. Now again, taking little more white, just white and outlining the outer portion with more bright color because it is little more brighter in color. So just outlining this area, you can see I'm just making it a little more white because it is wide. Take quiet in color. So now we will start creating some more. Now just taking black and just little bit outlining the area which is in-between the two reflections. So now we will take this burnt sienna little bit of green mix to it, and little yellow to it. I wonder. Oh, and just covering the lower part of which is joining the water. Just covering that part. Always use your liner brush for all these details. Don't use bigger size brushes now just adding white to it and giving little ripples lines on the below part as well. We all know stored on the wards off completion of these are the tailings. I'm just adding little more of this light color and adding to this area which is near to the neck of the board. So this is like a never-ending task. When you start doing some realistic painting, you will find some or the other thing is missing. When you are doing the paintings, you just have to see and watch how your painting is looking at how much details you can give to these paintings. The painting which you are doing, just wait for, sometimes watch it from lateral far distance that how it is looking. And then again, start doing a little bit more of editing to it. So this is how we do some of the paintings, some realistic paintings. Now we are done with the detailing. Now there are some little dots, some sparkly watery effect. Or you can say some dots are there on the water. So I'm just trying to create that also. But first let's create this detail which is near to this. Bought, bought. Their small, small dots over the entire watery part. So this also will try to create with the same just outlining this. The tip, actually just the tip. I'm just outlining with more brighter color. Now, let's take more of a white and a little bit more lines in between these water pots. Now again, taking little blue and white and just creating some dots all over this water surface area. But my same brush, some are big dots, some small dots. So small small dots are here and they're all over the water area. So just try to create them randomly. You can use here your smaller sized round brush also for creating such small dot defects. Here and there. I could have sprinkle these effects also, but I don't want the dots to be prominent. That's why I haven't sprinkled it. So try to create dots one-by-one in different distance and randomly here and there. So this is almost complete logistic. Few more details and we're good to go. 11. Final Detailing Of Water: So now let's add little bit more details to this. I'm just taking this bond sienna and little white. And I'm just using my flat brush and creating some nice lines with just the edge of the brush. So taking a little more of this color and just the edge of the brush, I'm just creating lines. So I think the color is little bit more fluid. So I need little color on it. Again, taking little white and very small amount of burnt sienna. And then again with the tip of the brush, I'm just applying the lines as you can see on the below. Just to give a few more details to the water. So taking my liner brush and blue and this white mix, just trying to give a little more dots, more brighter dots here and there. So some are big dots. Just trying to fill in the gaps because these are very crowded towards actually filled with all dots and dots on the top of the water. So just taking this white color and just giving little shape to the ones which is not properly shaped. Just highlighting a few areas. That does the final touch-up that you see that when you are not satisfied the exact shape. So I'm just doing a little bit of detailing and giving more dots and lines urine there. So you can see I'm just filling the areas which I see that it should be filled, adding little yellow dots also in between. You can see now the watery effect is coming up. And our main body part is left now the water background part is being done. Now the main part, which is the painting of the board. We'll start doing after this, the dealing. Just last few dots and we're done with the background water effect. You can see how nicely this background is looking. Now let's start with painting of the board. So let's take again our liner brush and white color. And we'll just start adding the details on this part as wide completely. So I'm just trying to do this with white portion, just applying white color to it. So just applying this white hello. And again, taking more of white and little bit of this bond CNI, it's very light in color, actually. Starting to blocking this next part with my same liner brush of size one. So you can see how light the color is. Now here you can also use the round brush, smaller size for doing all these details. But bigger size brush I'm not using it goes, I don't want the color to come outside because outside part we have already done. So do it very slowly and fill in the colors. Try not to take out the colors outside the boundary because otherwise you will have to redo that water work. So be careful and do it very slowly. Try to use your smallest size liner brush or round brush for doing all these paintings. You can see there are lines which are inside the board, which watery lines, but I'm just covering that day with the same color. So you can always cover these pods with the color and overdo the mistakes. Slowly. We're just blocking in these colors. These are mostly brownish, blackish colors. We're not using too many colors. And this, I hope you guys are enjoying doing this painting. If you want to learn more of these types of paintings, you can go onto my website that is MS creative arts.com. And you can check out more videos like this. Some more realistic paintings are there? I have created a tutorial for it. No, just filling in the boundary of the head part. Bobby. Little bit darker, brownish in color. So I've just added a little dark brown. Not too much dark, but little. 12. Blocking Of Eyes And Beak: Now let's start creating this eye and the beak details. So let's try to, I'm just taking two colors. That is cadmium, orange and vermillion you. So just taking this, so again, this bond sienna and just applying on the iPad, just first outlining this I so again, whenever you are doing any outline, make sure to make the color a little ten, then only you will be able to create some nice thin lines. Otherwise you'll not be able to create these ten lines to try to use very liquid color. So you can see I'm just outlining it. And I'm also blocking in some of the areas with the same burnt sienna color. So again, taking little more of it, take very little amount of color, don't take too much. And the color should not be taken, should be very tan color. I'm just outlining the shape of the eye first. Now this is the main part of the paintings would do it very carefully because the eye matters a lot in any painting. So try to do it very carefully and very slowly. Just blocking the outer part of the eye. Now, just staying neutral more of this color. And just blocking it very carefully. Now, let's take 0. Just blind. Can see the borders is all this bond sienna color. Now there is one round circle at the peak you can see off the board. So engine just applying cadmium orange to it. Do it very slowly, carefully. So appall eyes and the nose part is done. So now the little black color. Now yet I also am just making it little fluid color. I'm not making a very thick color, adding little white to it and just outlining first big and then I'll just to fill this with black color. Now, these two are the important area of the painting. So focus on this and do it very carefully. Take your time and do it very patiently. Don't be in a hurry because this is the main part of the painting which we are doing. Just first outlining it and then I will blocking the whole area. So just adding more of white to it. And it's quite dark, grayish color. So that's what I'm trying to create. The color actually. Do it very slowly. You can see I'm using the same liner brush of size zeros for even blocking in this thing. Because these are very small areas and we need to take care of it and do it very slowly. There is, there is few area which is yellow in color. So that also we will do. But first let's do this black part first. Taking this yellow and adding little yellow to that of these beak can see on these all areas actually very important when you're doing these types of painting. So do it very slowly and carefully. When you are doing such paintings. Just covering it very slowly. And you can see that outer part of the painting. I'm also outlining it with black and coloring it grayish color. So that's what I'm doing over here. Now. There is a big which is literally below so that also I'm covering with black, few areas left. So I'm just covering it with that green color, that watery part. So again, see now the shape offered this coming. So just outlining the outer part. And this inner part with just black color. Let's take again this yellow color and just tried to blocking this above area of the beak. 13. Detailing Of Eyes: So now let's start with some more detailing. So just adding little more of yellow to it, giving a nice. Now let's do some detailing also. Let's first take this bond sienna and D above. The two black also added to it. And just covering this I bowel which is there. And just blocking in the color. Again, see this is LED light and color, so we'll add more black to it to give it more vibrant look, more blackish color. So just directly adding little black to it and just covering that round part. Use your again smaller size brush for doing all these details. Because these are very minute details and we need to do these details with smallest size brush only. So I'm just trying to create some nice round shape to this eyeball. You have added one.in between and the round black. So I haven't covered the entire thing with black. Just one.in between with black and the outer lines with black color. Now, let's again take this little white color and create some reflection in the eye. Very little amount of color. And just adding little bit of far below the eye with this white color. Now again, taking this bond sienna and a little bit of vermilion, you mix a little bit of black mix. So just now we need to create these for details. So first we will do the blocking and then we'll gradually move towards the detailing. So first what I'm doing here is I'm just blocking in the far details. So if you're not having vermilion hue, you can use any red, cadmium red or alizarin red for mixing with this. So just adding colors to it and blocking in the colors with my liner brush of size one. Now you can see here I'm using different sizes of liner brush to paint all these. Our motto of size one. So monoxide zeros or model of size two by zero. So different sizes I'm using here to paint this detailing and painting these are small details. Now you can see we'll be covering this entire thing with this color. So just enjoy the process and start blocking in this details. And after blocking, this will also outline this as we did on the below part. We need to outline also. But first let's fill in the colors. Do it slowly. And just now simultaneously. I'm just adding the outline also do it. Because once you will fill in all the colors, you'll not be able to recognize these fours. So stout outlining them as well, so that you can see the difference. You can differentiate between them actually. Once you will do and then die or blogging, you will not be able to see that the lines which you have drawn earlier, again, I'm starting with the blocking using the same brush. I'm just trying to blocking these, these all for details. So do it slowly first, outline it and then start filling in the colors. 14. Blocking Of Bird: So now let's start further detailing Neu again, same burnt sienna I'm using here to fill in these feathers. So again, I'm using the same liner brush as you can see of size one. And I'm just taking burnt sienna, little bit of 1 million you and black mix and just filling in the entire feather area. Here you can use your round brush also for filling up these small blocks. Here, I'm using my liner brush because these are very small spaces. So I feel more comfortable using this brush, but yes, you can use your round brush also for blocking in these whole background. Now I've just taken black and I will be blocking in the back portion with black color first outlining it. So you can see I'm just outlining it first. And then we will block in this backside of the duck. So just you can see I'm just trying to outline the entire area and make sure that when you are outlining these area, your color has to be in fluid form. Then only you will be able to create some fine lines. So try to create as thin line as possible. And for creating thin lines, your color has to be in fluid form. So just taking a little more of black because my black has dried off Olinto. I'm just taking a little more of black and will start blocking the back part first. So just using that simply black color and blocking the back portion. So try to do it vaguely, very carefully. The boundaries specialists, because we have already done the background part. And if they will be any mistake or any color will spill out, we again have to redo the entire work. So make sure that you do it very carefully. Do it with the smallest size brush so that there are less chances of the colors getting spill off. As you can see, I've left a little upper area and white portion and I've covered the entire thing with black. Suggest leaving that feather area. I'm just covering this entire part with black color. So whenever you are trying to make your color little fluid form, don't add too much water, too wet so that it turns into grayish color and translucent color. Try to add that amount of water only so that the color of viscosity, the color richness, should not be disturbed. It should be black enough so that it is, as you see, it is quite an opaque color. So don't add too much amount of water that the color changes into gray. So now let's start blocking these feathers. First. Let's outline these little bit width. Again. I'm taking this black and burnt sienna mix and I'm just trying to outline it first. So just outlining the feathers. So I don't want it to be perfectly black. That's why I've mixed a little bit of burnt sienna to this color. Also, I'm shaping these feathers a bit so that to give exact shape of all the feathers by just outlining it so that it will be easy for us to paint the end dial feather thing. This painting is not so difficult. The difficult part was the background. That was the most like detail part. But when we are painting this board, it is not so difficult. We just have to do little detailing and we'll be done with this board painting. So as you can see, I'm just outlining it. So make sure that your color is and just enjoy the process of outlining. This is quite a slow process, but eventually the result will be very beautiful. So take your time and do the outlining first, and then we will be doing the background part. Now you can see we're almost done with the outline. And you can see the outline, the feathers which are near to the neck area. These are quite small and sizes. So sizes also varies when the when the feathers come close to the neck area. So you have to take care of that as well. We can see we have almost drawn the entire four-part and now the color filling is required. So for the color filling, again, we'll use the same color. Just outlining the back tail part also. 15. Final Detailing Of Eye: Now let's start with the blocking. Now again, same color. I'm mixing the two black and little 1 million you and just blocking in these feathers, again the ones which are left, left out. So this time I have made a color a little bit more opaque. So that just adding little more of black to it because I want a darker version of Brown, at least. Now let's start with the blocking. As you can see, I'm just blocking with the same color. Now when you're overdoing the same color, it becomes quite opaque. So it's better to do at least twice that burnt sienna color because it is quite a transparent color as you can see. So similarly, we'll be blocking in this entire, far apart slowly. Now you can see how opaque color is when I'm applying twice that color. Now again, mixing the same color. I'll just block in this entire thing. Now, I'm just blogging in the rest of the fur area. Now here you can see this is the first layer of blocking. This color will be little transparent and black outline will overpower that transparency. So now we can easily block in the color in one go without doing one by one. Now what color you need to choose is very important. So you can see I've mixed three colors to make that color. So it's very important what color composition you choose when you are doing some realistic painting. This is just the first coating of this color average I'm doing. That's why this color is quite transparent. You can see There's a blocking is done completely. I'm just outlining the base also simultaneously. Again, taking little white to this bond Sienna because I want a little opaque color for this. So just giving little outlines on the top part as well as on the eye, but also one little lighter color on the outer part of the eyeball. Try to do all these D dealings with your smaller size brushes that is size zero. And just outlining the outer part also. Now again taking this OH, bond sienna and just outlining it. This outside part. So I is the most important part. So you need to make it and try to create a more detail. Again, taking this bond sienna and just outlining it. So in this burnt sienna, actually, blockers also mixed. That's why this color is quite opaque. Just covering these pods with the same color. Are taking little white, very little amount of white, and just applying a little shadow effect to the outer part first. So just outlining the outer circle of the eye. So now you can see the perfect eyeball. Now again taking bond CNI and just giving little shape to this. So just adding little shape to this, I more and just adding little textures. So again, see already it's looking really beautiful. Suggest again, taking this bond sienna and just outlining the outer. Bought off this black thing. So just taking a little more white and just again adding little more white, more light color to this. These are actually very small details. And just adding one line to this. Now again, taking it in black because you can see that white has led to split off, just giving a little shape to it. The more detailing you give with your fine liner brushes, the more realistic your eye looks. Now again, taking white and adding little white to the eyeball. Now this eye is quiet effect. So just taking little white and then adding more details on the outer part of the eye. 16. First Detailing Of Fur: So now let's start with the for the detailing. So let's take again our liner brush and black color and just give a nice outlined to the beak first. Just outlining the area which is joining the neck and the beak. And the lower part, which is quite dark black in color. Now, taking my cadmium orange, digging in a little amount, not too much, and just adding little more to this lower part, which is where that yellow and black is joining. Now taking again this white color and just outlining these, this whole big part with white color makes sure that when you outlining it, it is, the color is fluid. Because we want a very thin lines for this. The more thin line you create, the more it adds beauty to the painting. So now you can see how this is coming up. Oil painting slowly the detailing. So many small the tailings which we need to take care of to give little realistic look to the painting. Now this painting is, we'll take at least quiet to us I guess. So. Make sure that you take breaks in between. It's not require that you have to complete your painting in one go. You can take breaks, you can take a day off. It's completely fine. So don't try to complete the entire painting in one go. Otherwise they will ruin the entire painting because we lose patients when we do certain types of paintings with these types of paintings need little breaks in between. If you don't have practice, if you have practice, you can do it in one go. But if you don't have practice, you cannot do this. These paintings in one go. Now I'm adding further, little more details, just lines, giving textures to this painting, to this neck part, adding little more darker color than the base color. Actually, it should be not too dark but little darker than the base color. And just light lines that curvy lines on the iPad first, below the iPad. Some nice U-shaped lines. I'm just creating my liner brush. Again, taking the color and just adding the lines straight. Just adding little lines, straight lines. You need to take the color a bit darker than the color, which is the base area, then only you will be able to create those textures. Simply, I'm just adding little lines on this half neck part. The other half little part is mod brighter in color. So I've left that part. And the other part, I'm just filling it with these lines. Use very light, thin detail liner brush only for doing all these details. Brush matters a lot satisfy I'm repeating again and again, that the brush which you use for these types of paintings matters a lot. So try to use correct brush. When you are painting. All these are detailing, detailed paintings, especially the portrait paintings and all. You can see, I'm just outlining it very slowly. So suppose the color spills on the background part. And so what you can do is you can use the same background color and just cover it up. Now I'm just outlining this this part. First. Let's start with the outlining the white and just outlining little white part also in-between. Whenever you are doing these line details, colors should be fluid again, not too much fluid, but yes, fluid so that you can move the colors. So now again, we'll take this burnt sienna and we'll start creating little details on the part which is joining the far area. Taking little bit of the sap green because there's a portion which is left the white over there. I'm just covering it with sap green color. So you can see they're so small, small things which you need to take care of it. You are doing such paintings. Now let's do the detailing of the far. Just adding little details on this iPad because it is quite darker in color. So again, taking this burnt sienna and just adding small, small lines and details over it. Now they're darker lines on the top. So I'm just adding little more lines on the top head portion. Very small, small lines or these. So that's why I'm using a very small size brush. I think this is a double zero size brush which I'm using here. So just creating small lines on the top head of the neck. And similarly, I'm just adding little more black to it to give little more darkness to the top part. Do these detailing very slowly and the color has to be again fluid. Take very little amount of color and try to do these details. Now once you are done with the above part, there are few more details of darker color in the lower part as well. And taking the same color. And I'm just adding little bit more darker details on the lower part. First time creating these small horizontal coffee lines. So you can see the lines will be like how the shape of the body is. If the lines are curvy, shape of the body is like an S shape. The lines also should be like that only. So depending upon the shape of the body, the lines, more men should be there. That is the four-movement. See on the top I am created the horizontal curvy lines. And then as I'm going down, I'm creating straight lines. And I'm also trying to give shape to this. Now, the lower portion is little darker in color. So I'm just trying to give a little shape to this portion first. 17. Second Detailing Of Fur: So now taking this white color and just adding a little white texture to this white area because this is quite wide and also giving little for details to it. Just making it lines straight and some slanting lines to create some nice first. So try to use thin brush for all doing all these. Also creating some lines in between these also white lines. The curvy lines like the shapes which we have created earlier. They're just layering it. The more you layers you're this far lines, the more it adds value to the painting. And then some straight lines. Now you can see how the far is looking a little more fluffy when you're adding more and more details to it. Also giving shape to the lower part also. So now let's take white and just add to this neck portion also. Suggest adding this. It's quite Gracian Gallo, it's not totally white, but it does not grayish in color. So now again, Let's take black first and then start outlining the outer. Said, just outlining it and just doing little details to this big part. Just giving little shapes to it. And also outlining it. Now again, taking burnt sienna and adding little more details on the edge of differ. So again, let's take white color and add little more white to it. Taking this one Sienna again, adding little ones Yana to it as well. Because I don't want it to be completely white in color. Now again, see so many larynx which we are doing while we are painting this dark. So the more you do, the layering of the firm, the more realistic your painting looks actually. Now a year I'm adding white details to add a little more. Just very small size brush. I'm trying to give the details. Now again, we'll take this black color and just give a little more details on the top head part and also the above part as well. Now painting is almost look, looks complete, but we need to do detailing for this painting. For this whole about painting to look more realistic. So just adding little details here and there where it is required. How you can judge your painting is that once you do your painting, just look, sit back and look how it is looking. Where it needs to be. Add more values, more for two beds. Then start painting and don't just paint in the flow, just wait for it, look at it where you want to add more details to it, added and then start painting it. So you can see I'm adding, there are so many details which I'm adding here. I'm adding white furs, which are coming out little bit. Now again, I'm taking this burnt sienna. There's white. There's white also in this. So it's okay, but I'm just filling in this color. And now I will also fill these colors in between also which are very transparent. But before that, let's do a little more of detailing. There are small of feathers which are there. So I'm just trying to give a first the shape. So this is the shape of it and we'll start creating small, small feathers. Very small in size. Because you can see as you go near to the neck, the size of the feather, the shapes of the feather size decreases. So first degree m creating very small, small U-shaped. First, you can see just adding little black to red because I want a little darker color. The lower portion. Now you can see this is adding a little beauty. Do this painting. When we are adding these small, small U-shaped for details. Now we'll do furthermore detailing. This is just the one layer of the four detailing. We'll add again more layers to it to give it a more realistic look. So similarly, again, we'll take white color and just add again the same shapes. This U-shapes on the same four-part just below it. So that it gives more, adds more value to this for painting. So as I said earlier, the more you add, the layering, the more realistic your painting will look. Now let's take again this darker color and again create this effect, this roundness of the shape. So these actually quite dark in color. So just adding it again. The colors with my smaller size brush. Now adding little white to this color and just outlining the feathers. Makes sure that our color is thin when you are outlining it. So it's not completely white in color, but it's a little bit brownish in color. So you can say just above in color a little bit. I don't want to keep it very bright color. So now this one I'm adding little brighter in color. Now again, just my brush is getting dried, so I'm just adding little water to my brush. And does taking again that's Carlo, that brownish white color. And again, adding the details. Just outlining the floor with white, which we did with black earlier. Take your time and do it slowly. Make sure that the color is fluid and the lines are thin. Now you can see when we are adding this off-white color, it is adding the whole beauty to the spot painting. So I am already loving this painting. I hope you guys are too. And I hope you will try out this painting and he will share on my and if you are trying this painting, do tag me on my Instagram, that is more Heaney art gallery. Just outlining it. Now finally, this outlining is Stan. 18. Third Detailing Of Fur: So now we'll start further detailing of this, the feather apart. Now let's take this burnt sienna first. That's white color and just try to give shape to this big part. Just adding the outline. Again, taking down the partners there. I'm just outlining it. Once we're done with this outline, we'll begin with this. Outlining is very important when you are doing such things. So make sure that when you outlining is the color is very thin. Now again, taking little black and adding black to it. So now let's take the DD painting again, taking my burnt sienna and black mix. And I'm just trying to fill in these colors. Now you can see there's a lot of why does there so I'm just taking again the burnt sienna separate because that color has dried up a little. Because here it's very hot. So the colors are drying really very fast. So just adding more color to it. I'll try to add a little more colors to this because these are quite darkish color actually. And the other small feathers you can see, again, I'm just overdoing those colors. So just take your time and fill in these colors again. Because we will be needing second goto fail because these colors were very transparent as you can see. So just filling these the darker colors. Once you're done with this part, we need to darken these above part also. I'm just adding little more dark highlights to this part also the neck part. Just a little bit more dark skin darkening these shades. So you can see how this feather is popping out when you're adding more and more details to it. So again, taking the same color and just outlining it. And just outlining this part also. Do a bit more about the witches. The tail side. Just washing off my brush and taking white color. And I'm just giving a nice outline to it. Now there are only few more details are left and we'll be done with the painting. So do share your project works. And do tag me on Instagram. That is more Heaney art gallery. And don't forget to share your reviews also, I will love to see the reviews. I'm adding little Ford lines details to this. Just small, small lines on the four-part. To add more beauty to this painting. Very small, small lines, vertical lines, are there. Diagonal lines? Now again, taking this mix of color and just adding little more details in the inside part also. Be not a, not be doing for the entire part only the big feathers which are more visible to it. That part, I'm giving little detail. So you can leave that detail also if you don't want you, if you want just the outline you can do and leave it like that. So if you want a little more details, you can add these for details also. And try to make the edges of differ quite sharp because these are quite sharp details which needs to be taken care. So always use your very small size liner brush for doing all these details. Now why this color has dried off completely. So little bit of this is left, so I'm just blocking in the ones modality left. On the other side. There's some lines or blocks which are coming out. I'm just covering it with this sap green color. So this is how you can remove your mistakes by using the same background-color. Now again, taking and blend sienna and black mix and just adding little more details on the lower part. First outlining it. Because this has to be quite sharp. And more outlines to the below part. And also I will be darkening this below shadow also because this is quite light in color. So just outlining the below area, just making it more steep, actually, it's more pointed so you have to make it pointed. And just trying to cover this mistakes with this, just do sap green color and it will emit more of black. I'm just adding to it. Just overdoing the colors to make it a little quite opaque color. 19. Final Detailing Of Fur: So the final part of the painting as left. So this is the last we do, which we are doing some more details and we are done with this painting. So I'm just adding little textures to these four areas. This bigger size for just I'm adding little details with white color and with my smallest size brush. So don't, you don't have to add and then die or feather area and just the bigger size feathers, I'm just adding little details to it. Just smells more lines. So you can see the entire painting, how it is looking, It's already looking so beautiful. I hope you will also enjoy while doing this painting. It's lend the painting, time-consuming painting, but the end product is simply beautiful. You will love it when you will complete this painting. Whatever I have learned and I have learned so far in this five years of span, I tried to teach people so that they can also learn different techniques of doing some realistic painting. That's why I have, I tried to create these tutorials, these detailed tutorials for the people who really want to paint some realistic painting. So I hope you will enjoy the painting while you are doing it. Now, just adding a little bit more of green to the area which is left actually just taking little green and brown sienna and lemon yellow and just adding to the lower portion of it. See the end part of the painting is the most difficult you'd keep on doing and editing the painting. You're never satisfied with the painting, but at a point you have to stop and you have to wait. Okay. This is the final painting and I'm done with it. So yes, there is always somewhat the other thing which is always left when you do the painting. So it's fine, it happens, it happens with me also. Try to do this painting with your liner brush and flat brush. Other than that, I haven't used any brushes and this just the liner brush off to three sizes. And the flat brush, that's it. So all these brushes are only needed for doing this entire painting. So just darkening this below part also because the upper part is also dark, so the reflection has to be dark. So just darkening up more. Yes. So finally we are almost the end of painting and do share your project works. I would love to see your projects as well as your reviews. Reviewers is the most important thing because I come to know what mistakes I'm doing. How can I improve my videos and my quality of painting? So please do share your views and, and thank you for so much for your support and for making this video successful. So finally, we are done just a few lines and we're good to go with the painting. So thank you so much for watching this class and thank you for all the support. And have a nice day. And don't forget to share your artwork. So this is the end result of the painting, as you can see.
