1. Introduction: Hi friends, My name is Jino and welcome to to a String Art project. This project is all about making your own. String Art design. In the following lessons, I will be explaining about how to create a String, Art design, and make your own String Art project. This project is mainly for beginners. So if you like to learn about String Art, then this class may give you a good inspiration for getting started. I have been doing String Art since 2015. To Me, String Art is a Hobby and it also keeps me to be calm and patient. I will guide you through all the step-by-step process in the String Art project. And I can promise you that there are more projects on the way. The following lessons, I will share with you a lot of tips and tricks which are going to be useful when you make your own String Art project. Hopefully you will show me your string at along the way. And I would surely give you a genuine feedback for the same. Once you have completed this project, you will end up with your beautiful piece of String Art and the skills and confidence to start up your next String Art project. In the following lessons, I will be explaining about the following steps for creating String Art design. I will explain about the tools and materials used to make the String Art, making platform ready for doing String Art. And finally, the step-by-step process to make String Art design. 2. Tools and Materials: Hi friends. In this session, I will be explaining about the tools and materials which I have used for this project. I will be also showing some other materials which I'm using for my String Art projects. In this project, I have mainly used silk thread, plywood, hammer, nails, Rexine and some other materials. In this session, you will see all the tools and materials which I have used for this project. For each String Art, I will be selecting the thread based on the design only. If the design has a lot of connections between the nails and there are only less number of nails, then I will be using very narrow Silk thread. as I have used for this project, for the background of the string art, I may use different colors. If I need to give a different color background. In this project, I have used golden color silk thread for creating this beautiful String Art. for drawing the design diagram. I have used Pencil, Paper, Protractor, divider and scale. I have used 20 millimetre nails for this project. And I have used a normal size hammer for hammering the nails. And it is also good to have a pliers to adjust the nails into the exact position. I have used Rexine to cover the plywood to give a uniform background and scissors is used to cut the Rexine and also to cut the thread. Using Rexine to cover the wood is an optional step. You don't need to do the same. You can directly place in nails on the wood and start the String Art. And I have used a square plywood piece with a dimension of 300 millimetres, and the thickness is almost 20 millimetres. These are the main tools and materials which I have used for completing this string art project. The next session, I will be showing how to make a platform ready for doing String Art. 3. Create Platform ready for String art: Hi friends. In this session, I will be explaining how to create a platform ready for doing String Art. I will be showing a step-by-step process for the same. First step is coloring the wooden board or covering the wooden board. This is an optional step because you can also directly do the String art on the wooden board. In this project, I have used a piece of Rexine to cover the background because it will give a uniform color. Follow these steps to do the same. first step is completed. now we have a background with a uniform color. Second step is drawing the string art diagram for your project. For this, first, draw a line with 280 millimetres. the dimension of the wooden board is 300 millimetres, so I'm going to give 280 millimetres for the String Art design. There should be some gap on every side of the String Art. For a better look. Mark the center point on the line, the radius of the design, will be 140 millimetres. Take 140 millimetres on the divider and draw a half circle, as you can see now. After drawing the half circle, we need to split the circle using a protractor. For this design, we need 30 nail points. So the splitting angle will be 12 degrees, use protractor to divide the circle. As you can see now. note that the center of the protractor should be placed on the center point of the line. Draw a line from the center point to the circle line. As you can see now, after splitting the circle, place the center of the design diagram, at the center of the wooden board , as you can see, you can use a tape to fix the diagram on the wooden board so that the design won't move while hammering the nails. hammer the nails on the circle points as you can see now. After completing the first half, just extend the lines to place the nails on the second half, as you can see now, Remove the paper diagram once all the nails are placed. You can use a pliers to adjust the nails as straight as possible to get a perfect and beautiful result. Now the platform is ready for String Art. In the next decision, I will be showing the graphical representation of the String Art design for your better understanding. 4. Graphical Representation: Hi friends. In this session, I will be showing the graphical representation of the String Art mandala design. This graphical representation, we give you a good understanding of the design and the step-by-step process to complete this project. Choose the dimensions based on the size of the wooden platform, as we have seen in the previous session, I took 280 millimetres as diameter. For the 300 millimetres platform. First step is drawing a circle. Second step is dividing the circle by twelve degrees to get 30 points on the circle, as you can see now, now we have the nail points for doing the String Art. Next step is a cycle. For this step, select any nail point and tie the string to that nail. Connect the string from the selected nail point to every other nail points, as you can see now. First cycle will be completed once you have connected the string to all the other nail points. Repeat the same process from every nail points in the clockwise direction. As you can see now. You will get the final result once all the nail points are connected. I hope now you have a very good understanding about this String Art design. In the next session, I will be showing how to complete the string art design using thread. 5. String Art Instructions: Hi friends. In the previous sessions, you have learned about the tools and materials used for this project and you also have learned how to create a platform ready for doing String Art. And you have also learned how to draw a design diagram and the step-by-step process to complete the String art design. With all these knowledge, we can start this session. As you already know first step is selecting a nail point and tie the string onto that nail. From the selected nail point, connect the string to every other nail points As you can see now. You don't need to tie the string onto every nail point. Just wrap around the nail and continue to the next nail points, as you can see now. Now, the first cycle is completed. Connect this string to the second nail point in the clockwise direction and repeat the same process from the second nail point. now the second cycle is also competed. Repeat the same process on every other nail points in the clockwise direction. I will be showing some completed stages. from my project, as you can see now, this String Art is very simple and has very simple steps, but it is really time-consuming. Take your time and complete the full process so that you will get a Beautiful piece of String Art. All the best. 6. Final Words: Hi friends. I'm really excited to see your project. Feel free to upload the photos of your project from any stages. I hove created a lot of String Art projects and I'm very excited to share with you. Stay tuned for the same.
