1. Trailer: No matter if you're just starting out with social media and content creation or if you're already a pro. In this class, we're going to focus on creating social content to create more sales for your online business. Hi, my name is Patricia Reiners. I'm a UX designer and content creator running my own business, selling content through my online store. Courses, workshops, couching many different things. What will make the difference for me is to use my social media in a way that helps me to grow my own business. In this class, you will learn how to create beautiful social content that helps you to promote your own services. That might be items from your online stores, your workshops. Maybe of services that you're offering to your clients or any kind of products. We're going to talk about how to choose colors, typography, and design elements to create a cohesive and a beautiful design that really speaks your branding language. This class is perfect for everyone who wants to create eye-catching content for social media and really get seen. I can't wait to see you in class, so I would say, let's get started. 2. Getting Started: Hello. Welcome to the first lesson of this course about how to create and design social content that gets you more sales for your products. Hello and welcome. I'm super happy that you're here. This class is really hands on. We will go through many different stages. I'm going to share a lot of examples, a lot of tips, a lot of tools that will be helpful. You will also be able to just watch me work when I'm preparing social content for a product. This course comes also with templates for CC Express that help you to get started and one for Canva. Feel free to use it download it or start from scratch. You can decide and either use a template or just get started on your own. We will talk about social content and why it is so important in such a game changer, if you want to sell anything, being a sales person is definitely not a nice thing. But if you do it in a nice and in strategic way, it can be super huge push up for you. What are you going to learn this class? We will talk about what is great content. What is the right content for your target group, for your target audience? What is important when it comes to good content? We will talk about how important branding is for this content. We will talk about design, colors, typography, how to really create consistency when it comes to designing content and how to make that super easy for you without spending too much time and money on creating content, but make it really easy. We will also talk about some basic design principles. Those are the principles that usually only graphic designers know. But you can use the same principles if you will create any content and can be for social media or for any other platforms basically. You need a one tool that can be Adobe Express or that Canva, choose the tool you feel most comfortable with. My personal recommendation would be CC Express or Adobe Express. It's for free. You can just use it in the web version, and it's connected to your Creative Cloud. Even if you don't have to have a subscription, you can use the full range. But like I said, feel free to use the tool you feel most comfortable with. We will do a deep dive in both tools so you can decide what works better for you. You can try both tools out and then see what you like. What you need is some pen and paper. You can also do that digitally. But if you have some pen and paper ready, that's always great. Design tool, I can recommend you Canva. It's a free tool that you can just use for your web browser so you don't need to download anything. Or you use your preferred design color that can be illustrated, that can be Adobe XD, Keynote, Photoshop, where you feel most comfortable with. What is your final project? Your final project will be social media posts that are ready to be shared with, especially a focus on providing sales. or for promoting any products that you might have in a nice and appealing way. In the next lesson, we're going to talk about what is great content? How do we provide value to your target audience? What are content buckets, and what are the rights social media platforms for you? See you on the next lesson. 3. Great Content on Social Media: Hello and welcome back to Lesson 2 of this class. In this lesson, we will really get into the nitty-gritty part of creating content and have a very close look at what great content for your target audience really means in your case. We will have a look at a few examples and also have a look at these social media platforms and what really providing value means for you. Selling products doesn't need to be difficult because it's really connected to the content that you share and especially through social media. We live in an awesome time where it never has been easier to really share content and present yourself and your brand in a way you want to be seen. Providing value is really the game changer when it comes to your business. Because providing value for your target audience helps you to be seen as, of course, very trustworthy as a brand. Very authentic because you are really true to your target audience. What is also really helpful is the continuity so that you share continuously throughout certain time period content that is helpful, so you won't disappear at a certain point. What is providing value really looks like? Just a few things. Here's an example. You can inspire your target audience. You can inform them about the latest news that can be technological, that can be facts. You can help them to save time, for example, with some quick tips or some DIYs. Help to save money as well. You can make them laugh, make them feel good by sharing things that's fun to them. To help them understand certain things that are pretty complicated. You can motivate them and you can show possibilities. There are a million ways to really provide value. This list here is just an example, but there might be more and especially for your target audience so that the things that are helpful to your target audience might differ or might be a little bit different. Let's have a look at an example. Imagine that we would have a sock business. We are knitting socks and our goal is really sell them online. We're thinking about what might be the right content for our target audience. Let's have a look at a way to present it. First of all, when we really want to be successful selling content through social media, also the content that we are sharing there, we have the first bucket, which is value. Sharing content that is value for our audience. Just an exemption. People who are buying these kind of socks are people who would like it cozy, have cold feet. The value for them would be maybe some tips about how to get warm feet when it's cold outside, or also how to prepare a cozy self-care evening at home to have it nice and warm inside when it's really dark and rainy outside. Many other tips as well. Then you integrate the product as well. You have the value, the tips that you share, combined with the products. That really put your product in a very good lighting, so people are more likely to actually purchase it. What is good content? Let's talk about a few content buckets. Content buckets. One thing could be that you share content behind the scenes and really show how this product is made, how you prepare it, for example. Also can be any kind of tips and tricks about, for example, how to style them, what to actually do with them, any kind of tips. Also the fun facts about socks. Anything that makes your audience laugh, that makes them feel good. Feeling good isn't only laughing, but also is self-care, which is very important and mindfulness. Also socks are a part of self-care as well, feeling good on your own body. Also personal topics, of course, motivation as well, and inspiration. Motivation could be to take some time and to really prepare a cozy evening just for yourself. Also inspiration like how to style them, for example. Let's have a quick look at the right platforms for you. There are a lot of social media platforms, so what is right for you? Maybe you are already on a few platforms, but just have a look at them. Instagram is a really great platform to promote and sell any kind of products. The focus is on visual, so really on very visual appealing content. It's super easy to reengage with your target audience through your stories, through your posts, through commenting and private messages. This is a really awesome tool if you are a small business owner. Pinterest is as well very much focused on visuals, on the content, on beautiful images, but also on a lot of DIY topics. For example, if you click on one of those images, you are usually linked to a blog post, or to a YouTube video, or to any kind of content that helps the viewer to get a little bit deeper into the topic. Twitter as well is a little bit more technical. It's all about discussions and content sharing. But I think also interesting to keep that in mind, depends very much on the product and the content that you want to share. TikTok as well is a little bit focus on the younger generation. But a really great platform as well to promote your content there as well in a very fun way. You share videos there. So the content needs to, how you call it right now, edutainment. So it needs to be educational and educational. LinkedIn as well, which is not so salesy, but I think a very important platform to keep in mind. As well we have Facebook where you can share Facebook ads, for example. What is important when it comes to social media in genera? Just a few tips. My recommendation is to always share content behind the scenes and be very authentic. This is super interesting for your target audience. Connect with people. Write personal messages and also make sure to answer personal messages is super, super helpful. Whatever you want to sell that might be, in my case, I'm showing a lot of workshops. I'm selling digital products. It's super important to really connect with people because this is much, much more important than the actual sales process in the end. Also, really show your process of how you do things, how your day looks like. It's super important to be really authentic and show your personality. For people, it's much, much easier to connect with personalities than with brands which are very abstract. This is also the reason why all the big brands are hiring influencers to promote their brand. It's much easier to be connected to a person and then really trust their thought process and what they recommend than to a really big brand, which is very abstract. Educate, really prepare value, help, be kind, be a part of a community. Those are very important first steps for you. Let's have a quick look at a few example Instagram profiles that I find super interesting to share. The first is saint sass. Saint sass is a tights startup, and they are sharing a lot of behind-the-scene things, a lot of empowering quotes, inspiration, sneak peeks how the startup world in Berlin really looks like. Also inspiration about really how to style these tights. So I think pretty, pretty cool. The second example that I want to share is Laori Drinks. They are a beverage company who share alcohol-free drinks. They share a lot of recipes, a lot of tips and tricks, a lot of inspiration, and a lot of also fun and living with alcohol-free drinks. I think this is pretty cool. Then everdrop, I think they're also doing a really awesome job on social media. They are actually a cleaning company, so they are selling cleaning supplies. But they are sharing a lot of tips about how to live waste-free, how to produce less waste, how to live a more sustainable life. It's like a huge look and feel what they are actually sharing on social media. I think they're doing a really awesome job of that. Then we have knitknitberlin. They are a knit company who sell yarn. They are sharing a lot of inspiration, color combinations, any kind of items from their community. A lot of tips and tricks when it comes to knitting. I think a pretty really cool combination that is super helpful and makes everyone really to start to knit. Here comes the task for you., Get some pen and paper, or you can also do it digitally and write down as many content ideas as come in your mind. Please remember that the oddest idea should provide value to your users, to your target audience. You can either do the task right now. Pause this lesson and then write down all your ideas on Post-its, and then get back to it in the next lesson. Or you can do it after you complete this course, whatever feels good for you. Feel free to do that in the pace and the time that works for you. In the next lesson, you can look behind my show. You can have a look at how I am brainstorming content for a fictional product to really give you some examples about how this might look like. See you in the next lesson. 4. Brainstorming Content Ideas: Hello and welcome back to lesson 3 of this class. Now you can have a look at how I'm creating content, how I'm brainstorming content for a fictional project. I'm going to create content for the Mindful Drinking Club and my product are alcohol free beverages so a little bit like the lottery brand but in my case I'm especially focusing on Prosecco, that is alcohol free and I'm calling this the Mindful Drinking Club. I'm brainstorming about content, how to really sell this alcohol free Prosecco? What kind of content would be helpful to share on social media and that really would be inspiring to my target audience and make them to buy more products. You can either just get some [inaudible] and some pens but I'm going to use a software that you can use for your web browsers completely for free if you want and do that digitally. This is what I'm going to do so you can have a better look at what I am doing. This is my digital board that I created so the content brainstorm ideas for the Mindful Drinking Club and then I'm just going to get started and really think about all the ideas that come into my mind. They don't need to be perfect, I just write everything out that I can just think about that really provides value. The first things are, of course, alcohol-free recipes that's always I think very helpful for the target audience. Also some tips about how to live an alcohol-free life, like how it's not drinking or never really drinking something. How does it really feel or some tips about it. Could also be some jokes or some fun things about not drinking alcohol. I guess there are definitely some fun things that would be interesting especially when it comes to not drinking at a party which is still a fun thing in the community, some people are not really big fans if they have not drinking people there so that could be a fun thing. Also I would like how to make famous cocktails alcohol-free, that would be cool. Some facts about advantages of alcohol-free life. There are definitely a lot of advantages that could also be any facts, any news, any information and content that is some educational, but really interesting and also makes the target audience, people who don't drink alcohol feel good because they feel or interesting, I'm doing the right thing. I'm not drinking maybe just because they decide that they don't want to drink alcohol. There are a lot of people who just don't want to drink, which is totally okay. Also some tips about what ingredients you always need to have at home to make yourself a nice alcohol free drink at home that can be any dried fruits or herbs or something like that. Must be a fun thing like a blind testing alcohol versus alcohol free or you can taste the difference that I think could be very fun and interesting to do that. Cool. Then some more ideas, of course. Now it's getting a little bit colder so some mild wine recipes could be cool, how to use Prosecco for it? Also how can you decorate any cocktails at home? How they really look nice, I already mentioned, like the dried fruits or flowers or something like that. Some tips for events with alcohol free drinks, something like that. Anything that also includes other people. Could also be some personal, some background information about like why I started this mindful drinking? What I like about drinks that don't include any alcohol, something like that. Some personal story about why I started this concept. I think that would be, I think really cool. What else? It could also be anything that is inspiring, that can be nice pictures, that can be nice things that you can do, any events, any behind the scenes thing. Who's this team behind this shop? Who helps me on a day-to-day basis. Who are my co-founders maybe? How does a day-to-day when he looks like? Awesome. Maybe some general tips about how to make an alcohol free drinks or these things. I think pretty cool a lot of ideas. Now here are some basic recommendations or some tips about what you could pause. There could be any kind of quotes from famous people or quick tips could be facts. For examples how to use your product and what you can do with your products could be community feature, what other people have created with this product. Sorry, behind it. The team events, production in use so there are a lot of different things and a lot of things that you can come up with. I'm going to use the alcohol-free recipes. This is the idea that I'm going to continue with in this class. In the next lesson, we will have a closer look at how does great content needs to look like? How can you include your branding or your branding elements? If you already have a branding, us we can use that. If you don't have one then I will share some tips and some tricks with you how to really get started on that topic. See you in the next lesson. 5. Basic Design Principles: Hello. Welcome back. In this lesson, we will talk about some basic design principles that will help your content to get the attention that they deserve. I think it's pretty interesting to know a few of these guidelines, and then see them all over different content as well. We will talk about basic design principles. The first is hierarchie. I think this is a very interesting one. As you see here in these different posts, they have some hierarchy. In case of they have one element, that is pretty big, they have one that is a little bit smaller, and they have one that is the smallest, as you can see here on the post in the white. Two-week yoga retreat is the biggest part, so the user sees this first, then we connect to your mind and body, and then the 10-day yoga guide. This is a super awesome trick to really lead the user's eye on your post. It really helps to create focus point, and in a natural way really guide the viewer's eye. The same here. You can see you always have the biggest one, which is the headline, a little bit smaller, then the smallest. Also helps to have some direction in this post. This is a very good example that this really works, so keep that in mind when you're designing something. The second one is alignment. This is super helpful to really keep things organized and help people to reach that thing, as you can see on this post. All of these posts, all the content is really aligned on one line. Everything that moves to the right or to the left would really attract the attention of the viewer, so if you have any lines or any content that belongs together make sure that it's really aligned on the left side. Proximity is also interesting. If content really belongs together, then it should be placed next to each other. You can either make some border, but really make sure that you have different content areas where things are a little bit closer together, so it's really easy for the viewer to see what content actually belongs together. Then we have contrast. This is probably one of the most important principles and very easy to use. Contrast means that through contrast actually post get interesting, or content gets interesting. Here you see a super high contrast between white background, for example, and then the little icon here at the top, a high contrast of dark and light, so you have the white and then the dark blue, or the yellow and the blue looks like a very high contrast. Contrast could be through movement, could be through shapes, could be through colors, could be basically through everything. This makes any content really interesting, because you have one area of focus that really differentiate itself from the background. Have a look at a few example post I find super cool from a design point of view. This design is very simple. We have an image in the background where you know what this is all about, and then use an element from the web like the search bar, how to start a six-figure business? It's a question, as you can see, something that you would Google. It's very minimalistic. It basically just has those two images. You have the background of the image, and then you have this little element at the top where you'll probably see as viewer, you would probably find all the content in the caption. This is also I think a pretty great post. It's very minimalistic as well. You have an app, you have the iPhone, and then you have big headline. It's also very minimalistic. It's pretty clear what you should do, you should just download the app on the App Store. This is also I think a pretty cool post. We have beautiful headline, and then the focus is on the iPhone in the hands. You have two components on the side that are aligned with the content in the middle, which really creates a beautiful focus, and so an also really nice color palette. This I think is also really great post to have the elements that some underlying or emphasize the content, living a more sustainable and climate-friendly life, which is really in the center. Not too much going on. A lot of white space, a lot of space so it can actually breathe. We have a hierarchy, as you can see, we have focus point, we have some contrast. Yeah, really well-designed. This is also I think pretty interesting. We have a beautiful color palette, and we have a big headline that really draws the user's attention. You have the alignment here, as you can see, some focus points, and also I think content-wise, very interesting to also include some topics like how to order, the questions users ask or people on Instagram ask to help them to navigate and find content much easier. In the next lesson, we're going to talk about designing content. We will use Canva to design all of our social media posts, we will talk about how to create templates, and how to design our social media posts. See you in the next lesson. 6. Developing a Branding: Hello and welcome back to this lesson where we're going to talk about how great content looks like. We will talk about the design part and also about branding. If you already have a brand name, I would recommend to watch this lesson because I'm sharing a lot of tools and resources that hopefully are very helpful for you. What is branding? Branding is in the end everything that you can see, hear, and feel about a brand. Branding is really the process of creating and disseminating the brand name, its qualities, and its also personality. The first task is to choose your brand colors. You might already have your brand colors. That's awesome. But in case you don't have them, here are a few tips. If we look at these three brands, you see that all of them have a variety of colors that you can see throughout all their post, all their visual elements and also all the design elements. In your case, it should be exactly the same. Once you've decided on a certain pack of colors, you reuse them throughout all content that you share on your website, on your social media, basically on everything. I want to share with you three tools or websites that are awesome to find colors. The first is Coolers. Just if you Google it, you will find it. They have a lot of really awesome color palette and a lot of inspiration which I can highly recommend. The second one is Color Hunt. As you can see already in the little preview here, they have a lot of color palettes that you can use which is super helpful. Then you have Adobe Color. Also for a lot of recommendations and inspiration I would say, and also the option to some like create your own palette. This is pretty cool because what I think is very important is to really be inspired and see how they actually look like, what really works with your brand. Choosing colors is not super easy. They also need to speak to your target audience, which is very important. Here is some like the slider, where you can create your own color palettes that you could reuse for everything. What is really important if you decide on the color is that you have this little hex code. This is like this hashtag and then some letters and numbers. Write it down either in a digital doc or on paper, because we're going to use this code later for our converter design. Choose 3-5 brand colors. You can either do that now and pause the video, or you can do that later after you've watched the whole video and want to go through all the exercises again. For my brand, I offer my fictional brand like The Mindful Drinking Club where I want to sell an alcoholic, Prosecco. I chose these three colors, as well as white and black. The second big challenge now is to choose fonts, typography for your brand. Same with the colors, you will reuse these fonts for basically everything that you put out there. The most important differentiation in typography is sans serif. You don't see any serifs there and the serif font serif, as you can see on the right side. I want to share a few tools with few that are helpful. One is definitely Adobe Fonts. Especially if you have an Adobe subscription, it's awesome to just have a look, download these fonts to your Creative Cloud and just see what's actually out there. Then there are two other I would say like platforms that I can recommend. One is definitely Google Fonts. I absolutely love that. You can download the fonts there, use them for free for your products. Really cool. Just Google fonts and then you can use type for swallow. This shows you a lot of different ways to come up with different type of combinations. Another way to decide what's your right font is you are in Canvas where you are right now. You just go to canva.com. You can create a profile if you want. Then as you can see on the left side, here, you have the Home section and then you can click on Templates. If you here click on the little template sign, you can choose basically any template that you want. We will create like an Instagram post later on. We will just click on that and then see many different templates here. Have a look at what fonts are out there. What really speaks to us? What do we really like? What do you think looks great? Then we can just choose one of the post there and adjust them. But I think this is pretty cool to get a first impression of what fonts are out there, what really works for you, and what do you really like? We just click on that post and we will customize it and have a look at all the other fonts that are out there. We click on the topography here. As you can see in the header area here, we can choose a different fonts and just play a little bit around with it. That's a lot of fun I think and also really nice to see what works in the end. Is for example change and prepare different fonts and see what really speaks to you, what works with your brand and see how you in the end really like it. I think it's just a very good thing for you. For the branding that I am going to create, The Mindful Drinking Club, I'm going to use these two fonts. One is the le jour serif. l want to use it for headline and basically anything I think it's the sake of really beautiful font. Then the Halimam, it is for more like personal handwriting touch. I'm going to use the combination of both two fonts and maybe add a third font in-between. Let's see how that works out. My tip is to choose 2-3 fonts that look very different. Make sure that they don't look very similar otherwise they are not a really good pair. The good tip for pairing fonts is ways to choose two fonts that looks very different. The third task is actually to choose images, graphs, illustrations for your brand. Basically everything that you can share that really is aligned with the things that you share. A few resources, you can just make a screenshot if you want or download it through the resources stuff that I shared with you, with this class. Go through these resources here and see what really works with you. I personally absolutely love Unsplash and Pexels. I download a lot of images there and use them for my designs, for social media, for basically everything. I found this awesome, beautiful image on Pexels. There are many others, but I think this is one that I definitely want to use, maybe another one in the end. But something like that I think would be perfect for The Mindful Drinking Club. In the next lesson, we will talk about basic design principles that will be very helpful. [inaudible] that you can use for social media to really get eyes on your post and the things that you share online. I wish you a lot of fun creating your branding guidelines, choosing colors, typography, and visuals. Then see you again in the next lesson. 7. Tools for Content Creation: Welcome back. Now, we will talk about different tools that you can use to create content or design content. I would say it depends very much on your experience and your knowledge when it comes to tools, what is the right tool for you. There are some tools that are perfect for beginners, also for people who have never touched a design software and are really new to the field, or also for people who don't want to spend too much money or too much time with it. The first tool that I can recommend is Adobe Express. It is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. If you are a member, perfect, then you can use basically all features in the Adobe Express ecosystem. But even if you are not a subscriber, Adobe Express is free. There are some tied premium features but you don't necessarily need them. I can still highly recommend this tool, there are a lot of really cool features. For me, the best and most important thing is that you can create libraries and then also use Illustrator, InDesign, etc. This is really cool. We will have a closer look at these tool and then talk about how to use it and when to use it. I'm going to give you a little intro to the tool. The second tool that I can recommend to you is Canva. Canva is a tool that is out there a little bit longer, also pretty straightforward, pretty easy to use, also a free version available and premium version, but the same with Express, you don't really need the premium version. Of course, you can extra pay for it but you don't really need it. This is definitely also a really cool program that you can try out. Then, of course, we have different kind of tools that are great: Adobe XD, for example, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I would say, in the beginning, most people really use these tools, especially Illustrator. This shifted very much to Canva and to CC Express, which makes it much easier to really create content. I personally like to use Adobe XD and create my libraries with this tool, I will show that to you in another lesson, and then still use Adobe Express to create the content because this really goes hand in hand, you have all the content and some kind of a library and an online folio. You can use it everywhere. This is, I think, pretty convenient and amazing for a workflow and to rebuild a very consistent workflow. Another tool that you can use is Keynote, any presentation tool or software. For example, if you know the post from Chris Do, he once said that he creates all his post in Keynote. This is still a tool that you can use for creating post and slide post and basically everything. The next lesson we will talk about CC Express. You will do a little deep dive into the tool and create one post together. 8. Tools: Creating Content with Adobe Express: [MUSIC] Now we will use CC Express and before we get started I want to show you a really cool feature, which is the brand's feature. You can add your brand here, which means you can upload your logo, either you have your own or you can use the logo generator from Adobe. You can pick your colors and then enter the hex code either or adjust the color here. Although you can initially only upload one color, you can add more once you created the brand. Then you can add your fonts. You can either upload your fonts from your desktop or you can use the fonts from the library here. You can just choose something or you can upload your own. Raleway regular for example, and then you still need to upload your logo, or you can say that you could skip that step. Click on "Next" and then you name that branding, for example, socks on the rocks because this design would be about socks a little bit of variety. The branding is created and then I can add more colors. I will add the yellow for example. You can either add the hex code that you wrote down for your brand and your colors, or you can just adjust it here. Save it, perfect. Then you can upload more colors. You can upload different kind of design elements all these things so the branding is created and you can use that. Now we will go back to the Homepage. What you can see here is a lot of templates. I personally really love to just explore it, look around, have a view at all these templates, and just get inspired. Because you can click on the Template and then use the template and adjust your colors and fonts. We just clicked on "Instagram posts and template" and here are these templates that you can think of. Perfect for inspiration. You can, like I said, double-click on it, and then it's opened on your artboard and you can adjust everything. Pretty straightforward and pretty simple. Here on the side, you have different other topics that you can choose from, but we will start from scratch and click on "Create Instagram post." You have this little artboard and an Instagram post size already created for us. You still have the template on the side. If you decide to go with a template, you can still scroll around and have a look still to get inspired but what we will do is we will start with a picture. We will click on Images on the side and look for an image with some socks. This post will be about socks to have a little bit of variety. The other ones will be about another topic. Perfect. You have a lot of access to different images. You can just drag and drop them to the artboard, the same with type. Now we will add some typography, and what you can see here is there are different kinds of templates that you can just reuse. At the typography, at the colors, and basically everything, but use these type elements as assets to get some inspiration. Because sometimes, especially if you're not a graphic designer, it might be pretty difficult to have, like a really cool-looking typography design. You can just choose something from this collection. There are a lot of different topics, or if you want to design a menu, as you can see at the bottom, there are always some pre-designed menu items that you can just use. So that's pretty cool. We will go with this one. You would just drag and drop it on the artboard here in the center and choose the size a little bit. So we'll scale it down a little bit. As you see this fall coming soon, we will change the copy a bit. It's not this fall. We will call it getting cozy because of the socks and the coming soon, we will change that and then add a text monitor at the top with something else. Because this whole post will be about sales post for the socks that I'm creating. This will be winter post. Then I will add the typography. Usually, I would use the type that I chose in the design part from my branding, but this is another branding, so we will just use another type that really works. Either add your own typography or just get inspired and use something that you can find here. Then double-click on the third part like organic, vegan, delicious doesn't really fit to the socks. We will change that and use different fall materials. Cashmere and mohair and just change it. We could also delete it by double-click on it and then click on "Delete" on the keyboard and just delete it. If you just don't want to have that in your post, I think in our design really make sense to also show the different kinds of materials that the socks could be made off. I really liked that and I still would like to keep it here in the design. Now, we will change the typography as well. Like I said, I can always recommend to not use too many different kinds of fonts that go with a tool or something like that. We can also change the color by using one of the colors from your branding kit or you can come up with your own color, depends very much on how you've designed and created these posts and also your branding guidelines. Double-click on it and then you can change basically everything. What I really like is to just play a little bit around with it. Because you never really know what looks good. So I can recommend everyone to just try different things out and see what looks good or what looks better. Let's get a little bit up. Cool. Then double-click on the Winter socks and just change the color. Play a little bit around with it and see what looks nice, what looks good, and what really works for this posts. Cool. Now we will add a shape because they are still like the sales section that we want to add, and the sparkle, to add some design elements. The idea with the sparkle is to add some cozy winter element or topic that it looks a little bit more designy, I would say. As you can see that a lot of design elements, I found some gold dusk, and just drag and drop that to the page and see how that looks. I'm placing it on the winter socks, but to be honest, I don't really like it. I think it looks really strange with the skin tone. I'll choose this sparkle elements. They're little bit more graphical, and I think it's a really cool combination with the background which is an image. Having a little bit more graphical elements, I think, are pretty cool. If you remember, our branding colors originally for the mindful drinking club, and you will use the same colors for the winter socks are some pink or orange and yellow color. Now our goal is to add some sales topic and we click on "Shapes." Then we find this little button style here, which I think is pretty cool. I only need one. We will scale it a little bit down and then add the sales percentage. We will add minus is 20 percent for the winter sale or Black Friday sale or whatever you want to call it. We will highlight that a little bit at typography and then just like place it on top of the little button here. Also going to try out different type and see what looks nice, but to be honest, my recommendations always to reuse certain kinds of types, so when we click on the Window socks, we see the type again that we used and we can use the same for the minus 20 percent of typography element. Cool, it looks nice. Now we will just scale it down a little bit, put it on top of the little button here. Scale it a little bit more. Cool. This looks nice. Now we will share it and we can either download or probably schedule it, which were doing a second or create template, which I think is super helpful, especially if you have the CC subscription. We will name that template and then add this to some folder in your library. Now we will click on "Schedule," which is really cool feature, especially if you're creating something for Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. You can see I already linked by social channels to CC Express. The post is automatically added here to this little window. I can add a caption, hashtags, etc, a publish date and a publish time. Then it will get posted automatically to the social channel. Not to Instagram, but to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, which is super nice. You can basically schedule all your posts for the month through that tool and everything is automatically, so you don't need to do that every day. Super nice. Now, it's your turn. Try it out. [MUSIC] 9. Tool: Creating Content Canva: Now we are going to use Canva. We're going to click on Create design and then we will create an Instagram post. Like I said, I'm going to create a post about a recipe for one of my alcohol-free drinks. You can see here you can add different colors. There's also the option to create a color palette and this premium version so you can add that. I'm going to add my own color that I came up reflect the pink and then I'm going to add some uploads. This is a really cool image that I like. Some kind of an alcohol-free Prosecco drink that I created and then I am going to design it and then I'm going to look for my font that I chose. It's the Le Jour Serif. I'm going to look it up and yeah, it's a great way to also get inspired. I'm changing that. Now I'm going to change the color. Not quite sure, it's pretty difficult to read. This looks nice. I really like to play a little bit around referred and see what really works. At least for me, the creative process really looks like that. So it's a sparkling fizz. Cool and then I am going to add some other elements. I really like her arrows and then I'm pointing the arrows to the drink and then adding the different ingredients that I want to add. You can see here on the side, clicking on elements, there are many different elements. You can either look for something, so search anything, can upload your own designs, but they have a super big libraries. I think you probably going to find everything that you need. Perfect of the arrows. I think this is what's exactly what I was looking for it and you can just drag and drop them here on the page and then get started. Just move them around and see what really works and what you like. There are a lot of stickers as well. There are photos that you can add. You can upload your own, like I already said, different shapes, different elements. Some are for the paid version, but most of them are actually free. This could also be nice adding any graphs or something like that and underline the fizz to put a little bit of emphasis, there on the fizz to give it a little bit of a visual hide. I really like that. Cool. Maybe in pink. Looks nice. Perfect. Cool. Now I'm going to add a little bit more text, a sub-heading, and in turn that will be the different ingredients, soda water, of course, and then I'm going to change the font, was the halimum and I'm changing the color to white, and I put on the top core and then on the other side, I'm changing the ingredients. Fresh peaches and little bit smaller, maybe, and on side smaller perfect and you can also flip different content to really adjust them to your needs I'm going to flip them twice horizontally and vertically so that it really works perfectly with their design. Then I'm going to add a third ingredient which is actually crushes of crushed ice. Cool. Perfect. Change the size a little bit. Then I can add other elements. I would like something like sparkling some stars or something that's a little bit sparkling because it's a sparkling fizz, looks nice. I'm going to change the color here at the top. That it's white. Perfect. I like it. That looks pretty great. Maybe I'm changing or I'm adding any kind of elements here that could be a wreck tango, to pull in with more of an emphasis to the headline and change the colors add some more types. You can play a little bit around with it but feel free to use my template or the template that I prepared for you. You can just click on the link in the resources and you get directed to the template that I created in Canva for you. The template looks like that. You can change all colors. You can change the typography, you can change the images basically everything but I just wanted it to be parallel so that you have something to get started, and yeah, as I think especially adjusting the elements makes a lot of fun. So you can really adjust everything based on your needs. Your can upload your product images, your colors, your typography. I created a lot of different designs. Feel free to just adjust it, use it how you like it, and use it as an inspiration for your own posts. Here comes the task. Design your own social media post. Like I said, feel free to use my template and adjust colors, fonts, and design elements to make it yours. You can either do that now and pause the course, or you can do that after you've watch the whole course. Whatever works for you, but I can't wait to see your results, so please don't forget to upload your designs to this class. I can have a look and would really love to see it. In the next lesson, we will talk about some last chips. Do a little conclusion of curious colors principles, branding, and also how to make the most out of social media. 10. Tools: Adobe XD: Now I want to show you another way to create posts. I would like to use Adobe XD for it. If you open Adobe XD, you have an option to choose the size, choose Instagram for it or social media. Then it opens up, all this 1R portrait in Instagram format. If you click on "A" on the keyboard, you have the slide on the right side where you can add more artboards. I also have access to a lot of plugins which I totally love. Also some libraries, the libraries that you created, for example with CC express with Illustrator of a Photoshop. We can combine everything. I create everything in a personal branding folder. As you can see, this is how my branding looks when I'm creating posts for myself. This for example is one element that I'm using for a different post. This is one of my branding elements for my own social media. Can also change the background here. Pretty convenient and I think feels very natural to people who have experienced rough design programs. But this is just a little show and tell, and this doesn't mean that you need to use it. I just wanted to show it to you so that you know how I am creating my post most of the time. If you want to have a little intro to Adobe XD, feel free to check out my other courses. I am doing a quick intro about how to use Adobe XD in some of the courses, so definitely check it out. Just edit some typography, on the 50 percent off. Then I will just use typography. For my own branding, I'm using the Pangea font and the basketball. I will use, I just typed in basketball. Here, you can see, and then I have the word sale. I really like to play around with it. Be really creative. Try different things out. In this case, I want some hand written type. I want to download the rise font. This is a handwritten font, which I think looks super nice. I'll just play a little bit around with it and see what looks nice. It's like 50 percent winter sale or something like that. This was the idea of the post or of the content. Then I can either go to My Libraries, create an own library for this kind of content and add something here. One thing from my own posts is that I really like to use emojis. I just removed the background and then edit them to my library and reuse them for a different kind of post. But one of the design elements, but of course I'm going to delete it here because it doesn't really fit to the design that we are creating right now. Cool. As you can see, I'm just looking for a really cool arrangement that really puts the 50 percent in the focus and width just a little bit smaller so that it catches the user's eye. Then I just edit a picture in the background. This will be for my mindful drinking clubs. I will just move this image to the background and then arrange everything around it. I would use the same image that I used for the Canva or that I will use in the next, in the lesson about how to use Canva. We'll just arrange and try different things out, what really works nice. I can recommend you exactly the same. Just play around with it, try different things out and don't worry if it doesn't look good in the beginning. As you see here, I'm just playing around with it until I like it. It's not something that looks nice from the very beginning. I'm just playing around with it. Remember to use the same hex codes that you created in the very beginning. Just copy and paste it or save it somewhere in your notes so that you can reuse it or add this to your library. It's already nice. I add a little description here. We get 50 percent off. Cool. Nice. Then what I could do, I still have the post, so I can just copy and paste everything, click on it and then "Command C" and "Command V". Then just add this a post. If I wanted to create Instagram post and Instagram stories that I have both. As you can see, it's cropped to the artwork at the artboard so that you see what you will explore in the end. What's really cool is you can always add elements to your design library as you can see, open the library and then. 11. Final Project: Welcome back. Welcome to the last lesson of this class. We went through many different things. We talked about what is great content. We brainstormed different content topics. We talked about branding, how to design this content, how to come up with colors, typography, design elements. We talked about design principles and then we create our post with Canva. You can either use the template that I created or came up with your own design. Now I want to finish up with some last tips to really help you to be successful on social media with your product. I want to share three tips that really save you time and energy, especially as a solopreneur or as a freelancer. My tip is to really create templates, also on camera that you can reuse every time, so that it's not too time-intensive to create these posts. Create templates and then reuse them all of the time. Also, make sure to really plan in advance, you can either do that in Notion, for example or in your calendar that you really add calendar docs and you know when to post what so you don't get confused. Prepare all the content on one day, for example, you have to take one Monday and you prepare the content for the whole month. Otherwise, it's very difficult and you never really know what to post and when. Really prepare the content, brainstorm ideas, prepare it, and then get it ready to upload.
