1. Tilda Angel Introduction and Tools: Hello and welcome to my video, where I'll show you how to make these adorable many Tilda Angels that perfect for going on your Christmas tree or also to give to friends and family Little Christmas gifts as well. But I'm going to do in this first video is just talking through what tools and equipment that you will need to make these lovely angels. All my dreams are coming true. So first of all, you will need something to get the templates from the book that I'm using is Tilda Winter ideas. I got this from Amazon then they're not very expensive. There, around 10 to £12 on it, includes loads off lovely projects. But you'll find that, although in each told a book, there's different designs, the principle is the same, so you don't have to have this specific book. You then need some fabric, so you need some flesh colored fabric for the body on. Then you need some contrast in fabric for the dress I have also used some told it lace. We could use any any brand lace on that is for the top of the dress. But don't worry. If you don't have that she can just use it with the make it out to the fabric. You then need stuff for the hair. So you need something like a wall on some embroidery thread on some of my dolls. I made the hair fully out of wall on others. I embroider the fringe out of the embroidery threat. You need a Bodkin. This really helps with turning the small pea seed right side out after you've stitched them . And you need something to help you to stuff. I use some at long tweezers, but you can use Andi anything longer, pointing I'm some fabric paint, and that is just for the eyes. You need something to make the rosy cheeks. I'm simply using a blush, a kit that I've got in my makeup set and you need some kind of string on day. Donny Needle on. That is just for adding the string to hang on your Christmas tree. You need some card, and this is to make the wings the wings. Actually, there's a template in the book that you photocopy onto card, and then you'll caught them out on, glue them together, and then you need some form off stuffing. And that is everything. All my dreams are dreams coming
2. Tilda Angel The Body: So what we're gonna dio first of all, is made their body off the angels. So what I've got is my flesh colored fabric on. I've got that folded in a folded double, so I'll be put into it one time on. I've caught the templates from the book out in cardboard, and I'm just going to use a pan to draw around them. And what you'll notice is at the bottom edge of each body piece. There's a line marked E S for extra seam allowance that bet you won't be stretching because you'll use that to turn it right side out. So we'll just do the same now for the legs on Duthie arms on. Then what I'll be doing is I'll be taking this over to the sewing machine and I'll be stitching around the line that have just drawn so you don't do it. How you would normally eso where you would caught out a pattern peace first and then take that over to the sewing machine because they're such small PCs. What you do is stitch them directly onto the fabric and then caught them out afterwards. So I'll get the rest of these drawn and then I'll take them over to the machine. Heavy shackles used to hold down Now my feet don't even wreaking ground Just like a prisoner Wet sand dunes and all my dreams are coming true And that old to you has changed my former point of view Just like a butter live new ways All my dreams air common All my dreams are going to the body PC's I'm so remember the lines that were marked on the pattern as E s I'm not going to so so on the body, The bottom edge I'm not going to stitch. I'm just using a normal straight stitch. But I have got it set at smaller than normal at 1.8 because you're going to be going around quite small bends. It just makes it easier if you've got that smaller stitch. I'm so I'm just gonna go all the way around the body when you go in round the tight bend. So around the neck area and around the head, what you want to do is leave the needle in the fabric and then lift up the press of fort on , then pivot the fabric around stitch a little bit mawr on, then do the same again to you can see there, put the needle in, pivoted and then continue savvy. So I'm going to carry on doing this for the rest off the body PC's And then I'll tell you what to do next. Just like a child Live in Wonderland All my dreams are coming true Heavy shackles used to hold me down Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground just like a prisoner ready Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into sky. Give the moon a smooth He's my kind of guy. Maybe I'll even give Saturday. Tried it offers is ring with look in his eye. Excuse me and I'm silly. Now who's gonna willing, Really? And that old to you has changed my former point of view just like a butter live guy. New Ways All my dreams air common All my dreams are humming on dreams, but now going to do is caught out these body PC's. Now the lines that you haven't stitched that were marked with E s. I'm just going to court directly along the line, but around all the other areas I'm gonna leave a small seam allowance so I'll leave 1/4 of an inch or something like that all the way around. Just be really careful as you're going down the neck and head area and make sure you don't accidentally snip into that stitch line. It may be easier if you've got some smaller says is to use than what I'm using here is It can be a little bit fiddly, so I'll do that with all off the body PCs on the legs and the arms, the flat edge that hasn't been stitched again. I will caught that directly on the line but leaf seam allowance around the other areas, so I'll get that finished with the next body. PC's just like a child Live in Wonderland. All my dreams are coming true. Heavy shackles used to hold me down. Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground just like a prisoner ready. Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into sky, give the moon a smooth He's my kind of guy. Maybe I'll even give Saturday. Tried it offers is ring with look in his eye. Excuse me and I'm silly. Now who's gonna willing? Really? And that old to you has changed my former pine view. Just what we're now going to do is turn the body PC's right side out now because the body PCs are so small, you can't do it with your fingers. You need to use a tool called a Bodkin, so you can see one end of the Bodkin has got, like, a needle eye on it. So I'm pushing that right to the tip off the leg up in. Come on in. This instance on. Then what I'm going to do is use a needle and thread. Just Teoh put her through a few tacking step cheese, making sure it goes through the needle. I bet off the Bodkin keep them loose cause you're gonna want to remove them once you've turned it right side out. And then I'll just not that off by seven. Back through the loop. And then what I'll do is Paul on the end of the Bodkin, while I'm pulling the fabric through to turn it right side out. It is a little bit fiddly, so just take your time. Do it slowly. Otherwise you'll pull the tacking stitches out, and it can help just to grab thief fabric a little better, but each side and pull it through slowly. What I will then do is remove those talking stick cheese with some scissors. Just be careful to make sure you don't accidentally caught through the fabric. Pull the stitches out on. Then what I will do is use the rounded end of the body cane to push the tip out, and then I'll repeat that with each off the body PC's. So what we're now going to do is stuff the body, so you need some polyester stuffing on and you need something to help to ensued, stuffing. So what I'm using here is some long tweezers that came with my over locker. You want to use small pieces of stuffing at a time, and I just hold it in with the tips off the tweezers, push it end through the opening. And then I used the blunt end off the tweezers just to push that down all the way to the tip. And then I'll do the same. So keep doing that with small PC's off stuffing. I'm pushing it through until it's Dr Bulk Open the end on, then continue with the rest off the body part. Remember that you need Teoh. Insert the legs into the body so you need to leave a little bit. Ever gap at the end, which isn't stuffed on on the arms, you'll need to turn the end off the fabric inside out, so just leave the ends with no stopping him. So just continue to do that with the rest of the body PC's. Don't be tempted to use large pieces of stuffing because it will just go lumping sexual use . Small PC's now my ground just like a prisoner wet sand dunes and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into sky. Give the moon a smooth He's my kind of guy. Maybe I'll even give Saturday. Tried it offers is ring with look in his eye. Excuse me and I'm silly. Now who's gonna willing? Really? And that old to you has changed my former point of view just like a butter live guy. New Ways All my dreams air common All my dreams are humming dreams coming true. Uh,
3. Tilda Angel Dress : what we're now going to do is finish serving the body. And so you can see I've already attacked one of the arms here, but I've got the two legs. I've got the other arm. What happened on the arms has turned the raw edge into the inside so that it hides that raw edge. Then what you need to do is place the arm on the shoulder unused, a doubled off needle and threat to attach the arm. So I'm just going to use a Web stitch. So put the needle in through the body and then come out just at the edge off the arm to secure in place. So I'll continue with that whip stitch all the way around the arm until it's secured. Dreams coming true. Heavy shackles used to hold me down. Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground just like a prisoner ready. Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into sky, give the moon a smooth Chinese, my kind of guy. Maybe I'll even give Saturday tried it offers is ring with look in his eye, so we're now going to do the body and legs so to start off with, I'm gonna fold the raw edge off the body toothy inside on. Then I'm just gonna add a little bit more stuffing just to fill it out at the bottom way. All my dreams are common in all my dreams are a little bit more stuffing. And then what I will do is in suit the legs into the body so that I'm ready to stitch those in place. I don't need to fold the raw edge over of the legs because they're going to be hidden inside the body. Anyway, it's gonna put pen and just to help keep it secure. Just check is you put in the legs and that they are even. You want to try and avoid having one leg longer than the older soldiers. Check them at the tips to make sure they're even. Then you can either stitch those in place by hand or you can take them over to the sewing machine. I'm gonna take mine over to the so machine, and I'm just going to sew along that bottom edge, making sure catch both sides off the body. But I'll show you how to do that in a minute. Okay, so before we so the body, I'm going to show you how to prepare the dress. So for the top of the dress, I've used ribbon on then a piece of fabric for the skirt. So for the skirt, it's a rectangle piece off fabric on that measures approximately 28 centimeters by 10 centimeters. The ribbon mashes approximately 12 centimeters by two centimeters, a little bit bigger than that. If you don't have ribbon, don't worry. You can just use a piece of fabric so you would cut the fabric to four centimeters. But then you were wide, But then you would fold it in half as I'm showing you here and then that just it wraps around. But I'm gonna do mine with the ribbon. So with the ribbon at the sewing machine, I have just turned the raw edges in to the wrong side and just put a little line off stitching on on the skirt off sewn a small double hand. So all of Don there is folded the fabric to the wrong side by about 1/4 of an inch, but folded over twice. And then I have stitched just a straight stretch all the way along so folded it over twice , pressed it with the I in and then put a running stitch all the way along So back at the so machine Now on First of all, I'm going to eso the legs and body closed at the bottom. Eso can be a little bit fiddly and as a safe you find it too difficult on the sewing machine. You can just sew it by hand. But all I'm going to dio is so a straight stitch catching both sides off the body, Andi ensuring that the legs are enclosed inside heavy shackles used to hold me down. Now my feet don't even reaching the ground just like a prisoner awareness on the next we're going to get the scoop finish off already stitched the ham at the top on the bottom So then I'm just gonna put the short tenures off the skirt, right sides together And so 1/4 of an inch seem even give Saturday is ringed with look in his eye. Excuse me, I'm silly. Now I'm gonna dio so some based in step choose that can then use to gather the skirt. So I've removed the bottom of my sewing machine so I could insert this over the sleeve are on upset the stitch length to the longest that it could be So on my seven machine that is five. So what I'm then going to do is so based instead cheese within that hand at the top unstitched all the way along Heavy shackles used to hold me down Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground Just like a prisoner wedding Santon's and all my dreams are coming true And that old to you has changed my former point of view So what now going to do is gather the school? So I've got the ends of the thread where they're just on the based in stitches on I'm just gonna pull the top threat on, Then gather it carefully with my fingers as I'm pulling Careful not to pull it too much because you will snap the threat on if you really wanted to, you could do two rows of based instead choose just to make it a little bit stronger. But I have found that doing one is strong enough because it's such a small area that you gathering on then do the same on the other side. And now we're going to attach the dress toothy body. So I'm starting with the piece of ribbon on. It's really simple. You just fold in it around s O that it goes onto the arms on. Then what I'm going to do is a hand stitch with a whip stitch to secure that in place. So I'm just gonna get my needle and threat and then I will hunt so that you're gonna do ah , whip stitch around the top on down the bottom of the piece of ribbon at the back where they overlap one another Heavy shackles used to hold me down Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground Just like a prisoner wedding Santon's and all my dreams are coming true And that old to you Love has changed my former point of view just like a butter way So now we're going to put the skirt But if the dress onto the doll so insert a legs into the top off the skirt make sure that it's overlapping the bottom off the ribbon. Why will then do is use the threats there from the based in stick choose Just Teoh Pull that a little bit tighter. So just tie a knot in the back. Police dash lights my way too. Magic Rainbow List Just like dreams. And then I'm going to do the same process as it did with the ribbon. And I'm gonna use a hand whip stitch just to tack that skirt in place. So I've got doubled up threat You don't need to. So all the way around the skirt, although you can if you want, I just tend to put a few tacking stitches in a few of the front view of the back Coppola aside just to secure it in place. Maybe I'll even give Saturday. Tried it offers is ring with look in his eye. Excuse me, and I'm silly. Who's gonna willing? Really? And that old to you has changed My former
4. Tilda Angel Hair : this is what we're gonna do is the hair for the dull eso. I've got little bonds and mine on a coffee hair on the back of the head on the fringe. You can use embroidery thread for the fringe if you want to, but in this video I haven't time used this wall. You come by special Tilda hair, but it's quite expensive. Instead, I'm using Rohan Kid Silk haze, which is about £10 for a ball. But you get 250 meters rather than 50 meters for about £6 of the told hair so you can see what dawn is. Have put pins in the doll's hat. So I've got to outside and then I've got them running off the back on. What I'm gonna do is simply we've the wall around those pens to cover the head for the fringe on Duthie, Back of the head as well. You can see here. I'm just gonna we've over and then I'll put a couple of tacking stitches and just to secure it in place, just like a child live in Wonderland, all my dreams are coming true. Heavy shackles used to hold me down now my feet don't even wreaking the ground just like a prisoner ready. Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into sky, give the moon a smooth He's my kind of guy. Maybe I'll even give Saturday. Tried it offers is ring with look in his eye. Excuse me and I'm silly. Now who's gonna willing? Really? And that old to you love has changed my former point of view just like so Now I'm going to do the little bonds to go at the side of the head. So it's really simple. I'm just going Teoh wrap some of the wall around my finger. Just keep Just keep going until you Do you think that you're gonna have enough to form a ball off world for the born and then just pull it off your finger? Andi, snip the end off with scissors, but then what you're gonna do is push it over the pen at the side of the head on. Then you some tacking step cheese just to secure that in place on. Then I'll repeat that for the other born as well. Heavy shackles used to hold me down. Now my feet don't even wreaking ground just like a prisoner Wet sand dunes and all my dreams are coming true
5. Tilda Angel Face and wings: Okay, so we nearly finished. We just need to do the face on the little angel now. Eso for the I guess what I'm using is dialogue, fabric paint I'm for the cheeks and refusing a standard blusher again. You can get, um, special told a paint, but I haven't bothered for the eyes. I'm just using a small pen and I'm going to dip that into the paint on, then gently put that onto the face to print on the eyes. Don't press on too hard. What? You don't want the eyes to be too big and try and keep them the same side as well. So that's the eyes, don for the cheeks. I'm just gonna put my finger in the blush on. Then just rope that onto the cheek area off the face and then just blend out a little bit by Just keep rubbing with your finger until it's blended enough and that is it. That is how to do the face. Now we're going to do the wings now. The wings are just from cardboard. Andi in the tilde Winter ideas book. It does come with the templates. Eso you simply photocopy that in calling onto a piece off cardboard. You'll need to photocopy it twice for each waiting, because you need to glued them together to make the front and the back of the wing. So you can see here. I've caught out the wings ready to glue together. Eso I've got a front and back wing here. I'm just going to adopt a little bit off glue Andi, Then place them on top of one another. Heavy shadows used to hold me down. Now my feet don't even wreaking the ground just like a prisoner wedding. Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. And then to attach the wings onto the back off the doll, I use a hot glue gun. I haven't got it plugged in here just to just to show you a dab a bit of glue on the back off the angel on. Then just stick the wings in place on and that's it. That's how you do the wings. The final step is just to add the little hang it so you can hang them on your Christmas tree or wherever you want to hang them. I'm so all of God is a darning needle with some threat threaded through it on. Then I'm simply gonna push the darning needle through the back off the neck off the angel on. Then I will just add a not at the base of the string, Andi not at the top off the string while just to secure it in place. Now my feet don't even wreaking ground just like a prisoner ready. Santon's and all my dreams are coming true. I think I'll go buy into this guy. Give Moon a smooth knees. My So that's it. That's how to make a tilde angel. You see, I've got three here. I can't wait to see the ones that you make. If you have got any questions at all, just ask them In the comments below I'm on Please to leave a review with how you from this class? I'll see you soon. Bye has changed my former point of view Just like a butter live guy. New ways All my dreams air common All my dreams are humming dreams coming true Uh,
