The next, fans, at least three animals in watercolor style using say, TFs and brushes that I gave you today. I will use Procreate for this class, means iPad and Apple Pencil. So if you have it or just some other drawing pets or regular watercolor paper and pains. Please join our class and good luck.
2. Creating textured paper : Hi guys. Hello everyone. So before I start painting, I want to explain you how to export all your freebie sit you downloaded from my class. And as a theme is, I want to teach you how to create texture paper. So first of all, let's talk about how to download all our freebies. Once again, when you opened my class in projects and sources section in the right corner and is a headline resources. You might find all my freebies, so it just simply downloads. And after that, all you freebies you might find in a folder Downloads. So what we should do next, how to export all our files into procreate. So that's pretty simple. First of all, you need to open Procreate and after say it, if you have iPad, you might open files app and splits the screen. So what you should do next, first of all, we have our swatches, it means color palette and as one is our actually brushes. So guys, it's about all the brushes that I said I have. It's also about all Zach color palettes that I have. How can we export all of it? So you just simply need to grab the brush set and after just drag it here. And now it's importing into procreate. So as an option, if you talk about color palette, we'll also, in this way, for example, I want to open this document because we didn't create our texture paper yet. So I will explain you on one on my previous classes pictures. So you simply go to our brush set library. And here as you see, I have sea creatures and all my brushes that I just downloaded. Once again guys, you might lose it if it's all brushes that I have. It's also about my other classes. We have the same procedure as you see either. I will show it to you right now. I have cocktail recipe and I will just simply go and copy that here. And now we have cocktail recipe of my brushes from this class. And saying this color palette, we have, our color palette is here and we just simply go and drag and copy that here. And our color palette is here. So this is a hole like this is main steps that you need to do if you want to copy, if you want to open it in Procreate. After that, how to copy our texture paper. So guys, just simply now I need to create one more paper on more new paper. And I'm going to explain you how to dose it. So speaking about texture paper, we have just normal JPEG file of paper and we need to turn that into the Canvas, adds a dimension and also affects set our actual real watercolor paper has. And I will explain you how to set. So you simply need to tap Plus and after setTab plus one more time. And after a speech from pixels into inches. And tap, tap Nian pair 11 inches. And as you see, we have 300 DPI resolution and our maximum layers that we might have said he might use is 56 is pretty enough. And after tap Create. So now we have our paper, it's here. Some next step when we created our canvas, we need to insert a file of our texture paper that can help us to create this authentic quarter catalog. How can we do set? So once again, we need to create a couple of years and we need to go and press actions and press Add. And after sad, if you download your paper into the folder Downloads, you need to press, Insert a file. And so as an option, if you download your paper intos a camera roll, just simply tap, Insert a photo. So I downloaded mine in the folder. So in my way, in my case, I'm going to press, Insert a file and after so it finds a texture paper tablet and it will be automatically downloaded into the Procreate. Insert a 500 after set, breastfeed to screen and guy sometimes as you see, the size of our canvas is a little bit bigger comparing to the paper. So what we should do in this way, which is simply move our paper to the edges like that. Next time you need to go to Blending Modes, we will duplicate out paper layer and the go to Blend Modes. And first of all, I'm going to switch first layer to linear burn and a nasa one to color burn. Next step is I will duplicate our linear burn mode and merge it together. And now I'll duplicate color burn mode, two layers and merge two layers together. After sad, our linear burn mode, I will move so positive till 50 percent. Next step, I will select two layers and press Group. And I just want to rename it. I have the right paper. Okay, Great Guys. Our next step is what I want to tell you. He said, You need to pay and all your layers, you need to create all the layers underneath our texture paper. So if you want to write, create a sketch, if you want to color your sketch, please guys stood underneath our texture paper because if you do it on a top, for example, you create layer on the top of our, of our paper group paper layers. You might lose this authentic watercolor look. So delete this layer and pay in here. We can even rename it. Let's just duplicate these couple of time and the array. So now guys, we can jump into our actual class where I will explain you how to use watercolor brushes that I created, how to use our color palettes and what they actually should talk. And let's do that. I hope you're ready and if so, grab your iPad, Apple pencil, and let's go.
3. Creating sketch: So speaking about color palettes guys for our today's class actually created two color palettes for you. First one is Postel, sea creatures is Klan, and I'm going to use this color palette a lot of times today. And in S1, if you want to have very colorful one, I have colorful sea creatures. So once again I went to remain. Today. We're going to create baby sea creatures were acute ones in watercolor style. And I also created, especially for your watercolor brush set. I added some brushes from my previous classes that is called underwater world because we have the same theme. The same topic is underwater world. I created. I added some of those brushes into today's brush set as well. And guys, I decided to arrange all our today's element as sticker pack. So you might pay in Fitzmyer also lovely creatures and if you want, you might sell them on Etsy come rod or in any other platforms, whatever you like. I also have some shell for you. And I created some texture brushes. As this fish skin, it's pretty suitable if you're going to be in some fishes and babbled textures. We might use it as a bubbles or we might add some texture to the skin of our animals and strokes. You're also going to use this brush. This brush a lot of times, our cake grade same, I have my previous practice. You might just simply add paint eyes. I'll show you how to dose it. Likes. And you already created lovely creature like sad circuits. It's all up to you. Tried to play around, finds the elements, creatures of the sea worlds that you like most. And you might paint. And before we start doing that, I want to tell you where you can get reference pictures that you might use freely for a personal and commercial purposes. In this way, my situation, you might also split the screen or you might just simply go to Safari and our logs. Okay, great. So Zoom website I was talking about, It's called unsplash.com. You can go here and you might simply tap and an, a whale or crab or dolphin or shark. And here you might find laws of pictures that you might use for personal and commercial purposes. I legs a dolphin, you see it's very loudly. And you might simply downloads a picture and after takes a picture and trace it, or another option, you might just look at the picture and tried to pain same creature. And now let's go to procreate and let's keep painting. Let's keep creating our sketch. So I will move to black color. I will copy pane here layer mainly many times. And now let's start arrange in our animal elements on a beautiful way on a class. And guys, for today's class, I will use this sketch. But after said, I'm going to turn it off. So be careful if your app, if you want to use sketching layer, if you want to keep it, it's fine. But if you don't want to lose at my situation after we finish arranged in different elements on a canvas in a beautiful way. Let's just lower SAP ICT because we need to see what we actually are painting. And I like the CEO, he's very cute. So I can place him salary here. Like sad. This holy crap. I think I want to add him summary here. And once again, be careful don't overlap with some other creatures. And Starfish Baby. I think we need to lower the size of our Starfish because we also need to keep the proportions, of course, octopuses onset peak comparing to whale and seal bad. I just want to make it beautiful. And we also have seashell. It says, so sediments, small slab for decoration. I can't looks cool. And my next step is list is merge it together. And low capacity of our sketching layer. So now it will be easier for us to paint. And after that we can log this layer, it means V. Now we can paint on this layer and it will be easier for us. And we will move to the layer of paint here or today's class. I share two COs approach which is called book or Paul. I'll show it to you. So we're going to use Postel sea creatures pellet. So I made it as a, set it as default. And this brush is cool. It's very authentic. And it might be seen or 300k comparing to the pressure. Since this brush is pressure sensitive, if you press harder, you will have thicker color. And I also added bold watercolor stamps, seven zeros brushes source stamps and brushes are from my recent watercolor brush set, which is called through watercolor. If you want, they can share with US alien can, you can check it out. And this stem brush is also from brush set and the other two brushes, those are native Procreate brushes, dry ink I will use as a detailer. And the other one, Terrell airbrush, one of my favorites. I usually use it as a blending tool. And also it can help you to add some texture to the painting. So I hope you are ready to start paint and start adding some colors. And let's choose head.
4. Adding colors: So the, I guess once again we need to be on a new layer and I'm going to paint all our sea creatures. So our baby creatures on one layer like an actual watercolor paint and authentic on non teach UDL. And after that step-by-step, I will start adding some shades and in the same time some details. And I'm going to grab for AAPL, brush. Grab says pretty bright blue color. And I'm going to add some colors to our player. Even brighter. Because once again, so some baby creatures they need to be very cute. You might overlap. It's also find later we're going to use blending tool. We can leave tiny bit of some white sheets. Same here. In some areas, so you'll have bluish color. And the nozzle wanted Gopi a little bit lighter like mermaid tail. Next is, next step is we cannot go and grab this pretty bright blue color. And feel says part wave hookup. I can't dive is our lovely baby. Almost an almost have what's called a pink color. And add some pink shade here. Real keeps us pink color. And I want to add some reddish color to our crab carefully size. And here, Aaron pions Alliance. I want to make it like a little bit orange. So when we paint craft views as warm colors, warm tones, I think it would be pretty suitable. I also leave a little bit of white gaps like that. Our crab is almost ready now, tap two times and we need to fill this area with white color. Later we'll add some ice hockey crap is ready, we are still on one layer. Next one is octopus. And our octopus is purple. Maybe a little bit lighter. I want to use a solve counters. And also if you have a baby, if you have a nice, You might owe or nephew, you might create some lovely wall art, prints it later, make it gave TO someone whom you love. Sometimes you might leave tiny gaps. You see between. Between some elements down. Now starfish, I want to make it go. Oh, yeah. The most difficult sea creatures I left to the end of our plaintiffs. Let me erase this part. Yep. I see. Shall I forget about let me think. I seashell. You let it be PMBOK. Like mermaid. We need to have this loudly cars, but once again, you might use another color palette. The counters in another color palette are very bright. So you will get hurt colorful picture in the end. And lighter. Here I will use a few colors altogether. So I'm going to use some dark blue color, like what I'm using right now for adding shades and announce Yvonne, lighter. Tail is part of a tail. We go a bit darker, it's in shadow. Now let's switch to light color. Like forever. Baby blue color. Next. I think remember feel whole area is some particular color. And later we'll start that in some sheet. Okay. Down. Yep. And now narwhal, pink color, cheeks. And the reddish color for mouth. Yep. And I think this part will be lightest one. So I'm gonna make it and I'll narrow your visit darkest creature today. So I'm going to use this dark blue color. Once again, I'm going to mix a few colors appear shades together. But still you need to have some contrast because all creatures, all of, all of them. So I have felt a light, let's say a colorful, and we need to have some imbalance. We need to add darkest elements. And now I want to have slightly lighter car is one. In this area, I want to avoid overlap bins because I don't want to destroy this pink color. So I'll try not to leave Apple pencil from the screen. Now let's just fill this area. You can leave tiny bit of white gaps to simply copy it. Yeah. I can. Finally recolor it allows creatures. Next step we need to blend the colors, the gaps that we have here. Before we start doing set, we need to remove the transparency. Once again, why do we need to remove transparency? So for this, we have two reasons. First one, if you want to blend the colors and we use, we just used our watercolor brush, that semitransparent. You can see it here. It means like when we turn off our sketch layer, turn off our background layer. As you see, we have some time in grief here, like here. So you sees a background and you might clearly see that at our C. And what we should do in this way, we need to remove the transparency. If you want to keep our creatures not transparent. If you want to overlap Sam, if you want to use them as a stickers, if you want to make a clip parts that later you might sell on Etsy. So in this way, we need to remove the transparency because probably your customers, they'll want to place them on a top of some text, on top of some other elements. As ender want to see is this overlap is, this is the first reason. And another one is if we want to add colors, if you want to blend some elements because our creatures, our paint is pretty transparent. It's difficult to use Clipping Mask and Alpha Lock modes. I will show you what I'm talking about. I'll press alpha lock. What does it mean? It means that now I can paint, I can do what I want to do, jazz and our selected area, I will show it. So you see I can paint just here. It's great for shading, are usually used for shade and we don't go beyond the lines. But in this way, as you see, if I need to blend something, okay, as a blending tool, I'm using PET Terrell airbrush. And as you see, when I blend something, you see it's difficult to blend in alpha lock mode because our layer is transparent. So in this way, we need to remove the transparency. I will turn off our Alpha Lock mode, and I will just duplicate our layer one time. Go to lower layer, tap adjustments, hue saturation and brightness and tap layer and turn your brightness to maximum to 100%. And now our layers, lower layer is white with replicated slower layer three times. And we merge that together. And after we merge this layer together, raise our original layer colorful. And now when you turn off set background color, paper layer, as you see, our creatures are not transparent animal. That's what we actually wanted to do. And in this way, because for us now is difficult to see our sketch layer. I move it to the top. I will unlock it and I will labours have positive, even more like this. It's barely seemed like 7% after the diver lock it again. And as you see our sea creatures now finally, and not transparent and we can add shades. We can blend colors in a Clipping Mask Mode. And we're going to do that right now. So press Alpha Lock or clipping mask or Alpha Lock modes are. So press now you need to press alpha lock, grab our blend into and start. You start. And, and now what we can do is it guys, why we need to press click Alpha Lock? Because in this way, if the blend something we don't go beyond the lines and I want to keep those sharp edges. I don't want to blend it. That's fine. My suggestion, if you want to blend something, if you want to add shades, always use alpha lock. If you want to blend or edge shades, or use clipping mask if you want to add cheat. Later I will show you, I will explain you how to use Clipping Mask Mode and why we are doing. So. I guess you might blend some lines, but don't blend everything entirely. Just try to keep it nature. In some ways. I don't actually want to blend it too much because I want to keep. So slides. I wanted to show it to sexual watercolor. It's not perfect is it can be bad. Because in watercolor, I'll paint is usually are not perfect. You have some overlap pains. Maybe some colors Here. Okay, down. And our next step is to think in turn off the Alpha Lock mode. And let's stop II sledges start adn, tiny shade step-by-step.
5. Alpha lock: adding shades: Okay, now we're ready to add some tiny bit of shades. So how can we set bail? Create one more layer on the top and we're press clipping mask. And after said to be switched some mode to multiply. And now when we paint some like linear add some shades, it will be even darker. We have same brush. Let's start with our octopus. So in areas where to are close to each other, we will have those tiny bit of shades like here. And let's just pretend that satellite sources from the top. So that means that Zell bottom of our objects will be a little bit, a little bit darker. And guys, if you think it's too bright, you might later simply lowers opacity of our shading layer is fine like this, I'll show you. Now it's not that bright. And later, if you want to blend this shading, you might simply toes like here. If you don't want to have, It's like obvious. Just blended like sad. And in this way it will come more authentic. You see it. And now when you said you just blends apart with the shades. So layer that isn't a Clipping Mask mode. And now it's more neutral. Our baby octopus, bit, choppy. Sorry, my chart here shows a shade. This area. I came down with our octopus saddle legs, a shake here later I will show you how to add some highlights. So starfish, they have same yellow color. And I decided to keep it like that, but because he is blending mode, Multiply, the shade will be a little bit darker. And in sexually, What do we need? R12 blended or something like that? Same is our crap. This area will be darker. This dark area here also you will pick the darker area on the eyes. Also it will be slightly darker, like said. So in areas where we have our elements of the shape seashell altogether, we will have some shades, like sad. Later here we will implant some parts. And as you see, it's pretty simple. Now we go to our seal. This part will be darker, shade on the knees. And this part will be in shadow. Some shade in this area as well. Shade from the face. And we have tiny shade in this area. I can now go where you're gonna go to our whale. Have same brush. And I wanted to show is a shade this area. And I want to show the lines here. I don't want to change that. Now if you're gonna go up, this is pretty bright blue color. Once it can't because we are using Multiply layer. While the shades they look more saturated. You might use this brush or later you might use another brush for the details. Dry ink brush, I mean. We cannot be out upon narrow. This B2B in shadow. This B2B in Cheetos. Let's add some ice. Maybe not as dark, bluish color. Here, tiny details. I already started it and makes it sound. Now let's just turn it off. I mean, sketching layer. And our creatures is so lovely, but I want to make them even better. Since this way you see we have our skin, our shading layer, it looks which is perfect. My suggestion, we are on our original layer and I went to press hue saturation, brightness. And I wanted to make it a little bit more colorful. You see i tablet and now it looks more better. Before it was a little bit Dao. Now, I don't like the way how it looks. It's very saturated. So as an option you might go to curves, tap layer, and those same. Make it more colorful and less colorful like that. So that's our sea creatures. So very, very colorful. And now let's merge it together. So the next step is, I'm going to add tiny bit of color variations. And the next step will be shapes and sizes.
6. Clipping mask: Adding color variations: Okay guys, now we need to add some color variations to our lovely creatures. How can we just said, I'm gonna go and grab free hand. And I need to select some tiny areas of our Vale after that press feather, tap hue, saturation, brightness and tap layer. And now I can play around and look at the colors that we have. So as you see these colors, pretty lovely. You might think about calorie patients. You want to have a bluish purplish again. So as you see, we added some tiny beautiful nasa counters to our creature. Now we have seen middle to saying this octopus and guys, why you can't use it all over just with all creatures. Because in this way some colors might not be suitable. So I, my suggestion tried to do it like step-by-step. I like this purple color. Now, our star, as you see, our style already has some color variation. So Pfizer's 6, 10, maybe 11 percent nutrition brightness. And yep, starfish, we'll be said pride. And now let's go to our crap. Just a little bit further. 10 percent Hue Saturation and Brightness tap Layer. Think about color variations that you like. My length is pinkish one, so our curve will be pre-taped pink. Same viz, a viz a seashell phasor, 12 percent hue, saturation, brightness. I like this color. I'm going to keep our seashell x hat now seal to make it a little bit more saturated and I want to keep it a little bit purplish. Same as narrow, like that. Okay, and as you see it looks way more better. Now we might add some tiny bit of highlights and shades as well. How can we do set? So speaking about sheets, we have, we selected this area and press Add. Selected says Erin press add up to the professor like 12 percent Hue Saturation, Brightness, tap layer and lower the brightness, increase the saturation. You see, you might make it a little bit darker. And then the same time which will be pretty bright. So that means that we added some shades to this area, same as our octopus. This area you'll be in shadow of press, Add. This area in shadow. Tiny mitosis one here, here and here. Phasor, I don't know, like 16 percent Hue Saturation, Brightness. The brightness increase saturation. You see now are locked. Octopus has a loss of cool shades. Same is grab. I want to add tiny bit of shade here. We also have shade in this area. This area, maybe, yeah, here. Visor, 13 percent saturation, brightness, loggers uprightness increase saturation. Tiny bit of shade from this side to our craft. Starfish. Be careful. Yeah. Selection Tool, tiny bit of here. Let it be phasor, 12 percent hue saturation and brightness, lower brightness increase situation like that. And same with our seal. When you have some shaded area here and shade here. Feather, 13 percent Hue Saturation, Brightness, the brightness increase saturate. See already we have shading part and looks cool. Same with our narrow here. Add a tiny bit of shade and this part. And now it's time to add tiny bit of highlights. Highlights. The alliance will be slightly lighter. Here. And here. We will feather that like 7% after the hue saturation and brightness. And is You see how high lines, very lovely. I forgot about the seashell. So later we'll return to sad. Now saying, is our octopus. Tiny bit of highlights here. Like that. Feather. I don't know. 8% hue saturation brightness, increase the brightness as its highlights for our octopus. See you for the starfish. And I also can add some tiny bit of highlights to our crab as well. Yep. Affairs or 8% hue saturation and brightness. We look at our tiny bit of objects and we added highlights and it looks cool. Now seal and have here 7% hue saturation brightness, increase the brightness. Now narrow. Let's think we'll have some tiny bit of shapes in this area here. Here. In this way. I think I want to add here, here and here, 7% saturation brightness and increase the brightness. Now he is so colorful. Look at this. Now speaking about the seashell, I'm going to add shade first. Phasor, 15 percent hue saturation and brightness. Brightness increased situation. If you like, you can even change the shape of the bottle necks. Speaking about a highlights, we need to add them to the seashell as well. Freehand. Tiny beat. At Pfizer, 6% hue saturation brightness, and increase the brightness and saturation. Seashell is ready as well, guys, now we have our lovely sea creature said, very cute. But we need to add some tiny details and texture. So if I say purposes, we'll create one more layer on the top and we'll create build press clipping mask. Now we can once again paint on a new layer button at the same time it recant, go beyond the lines. We might guys, we might still keep our Bu OPO organ, might use Terrell airbrush. And I'm going to get some texture things to the Terrell airbrush. I will move to multiply layer. Be careful. Multiply. Yes. And I want to add tiny bit of shades. It's how can we dose it? I will increase our capacity, lowers the size of the brush, and I will go to the edges and I want to add tiny BTC of some lines because we have watercolor paintings. Sometimes we have some edges, whereas the amount of water calories very thick. And it can help us to reach this authentic watercolor look. So you need to use some bright colors. And we also can show tiny and ketoses lines here. So lethal pit. And it's easier if you do it prompts at edges. So this way you can chose a smart color shades. Go to darkest part. The same file, star fish might add even darker shade. Here. Okay, Dan is a starfish as well. Now speaking about our crab, you're going to go and grab a darker color. Of course, not everywhere like that. So I want to finish this part. I will go and grab dry ink brush, and I will grab a dark blue color. And now I want to add some shades. In this way. I need to emphasize some lines. You might grab this brush or you might grab another one, like Oh Paul brush. But I want to keep this one because this brush is very sharp. Sexually, what we need right now, I want to show slides. Three is a brush. Let me think. I wanted to show the shape, area and here as well. Same I will do is crap. Maybe here. Yeah. Perfect. Fun to add more shades from this side. I will use this brush. Let's return to our crap. You have tiny P times occurs here. And just sexually it. Let's go to the seashell. So some shades into this area. And that's sexually eat is the last parties to show some lines, a scarier. Taking tiny, tiny, tiny bit of details I can now is, is, is facades shade, this is reshaped and they look perfect. I will create one more layer. On the top end, we will add final details, tiny bit of texture, and that will be sad.
7. Final details: Okay, now how to add some texture? We need to create one more layer and press clipping mask. Once again, it means now we can paint on our selected area of our creatures. And I'm going to go and choose the brushes. As you see you have strokes, bubbled texture, and fish skin. But first of all, I want to use a spray paints and I'm going to use flicks. This is native procreate brush, I like it. And I will switch the mode to multiply. And I'm going to start is my crab controls the size. So it shouldn't be that big. But it shouldn't be that smallest. Same way. And I want to add a tiny bit of flicks your seats. It has helped me to create this authentic watercolor look. Just tiny bit of the shades in this area and our crab is ready. Yeah. Like saying we can do it with starfish. And this area. Just tiny bit of sauce flicks. Little bit, don't add too much. Otherwise it would be built by nature are very colorful. We sat with just tiny beat. Yeah. And at the same time, blending tool shouldn't be set much. Just a little bit. Now, purple color for our octopus. A CNVs flakes, It's looks way more better. Sell x hat. And speaking about our lovely feel, I like him. I want to add more clicks. It should very, very neat trick. So Dan is this part. Now I need to create one more layer. Same. It's an a Clipping Mask Mode switch tos f Normal. And I'm going to use bubbled texture. I came, this octopuses are ready. And actually I went to tiny beetles, was Fabullus on our narwhal is pretty cool. And now on to speech, to the strokes. And I want to make some white seal. I think it has to have some of those things control the size. You can make it smaller, make it bigger. And we need to have this tiny bit of texture all around. Like this. Say we can do with crab actually feel like you might have had some tiny bit up strokes in this area. Now it looks very cool. If you'd like, you can change the position, so select and move it slightly like that. Can make it bigger or smaller. Okay, that's our crap. Maybe I want to add some white bubbles to our whale. Because we can't imagine our books out bubbles. Those bubbles everywhere part in some areas and probe here. I wanted to add some tiny bit of bubbles and say, Hey, here, you might just make some less reusable like that. And down with our lovely illustration.
